Visited the Donation center and also Family Store today. Donation area is very well organized. There are few parking spots right next to donation bins. This helps in carrying heavy items or many donation items to the bins. Great customer service, folks were very helpful.Store is well organized with price tag on all items. Clothes were arranged based on type and colors. There are few changing rooms available however they were closed temporarily. They have arranged the store for social distancing. Overall pretty good experience.
I like that they are playing Christian music I liked it they got rid of their Collectibles area. However the pricing is strange it seems to indicate that certain color tags are 50% off for the day but when I asked a Filipina woman if I could use the bathroom she told me rudely theres no public restroom and then charged me full price for my item. I will assume that is her personal opinion about me and not the store. However they should open their restrooms its not a big deal to go in there and spray down faucet and the toilet seat when a person leaves. And if they look on the CDC they will find that there is no longer such strict mandates surrounding the pandemic, which is now known to have caused less than 1% of the global deaths originally reported. My advice to them is to keep playing Christian music and make sure your employees engage in an Ethics training course.
Friendly staff and great selection! I found a lot of brand name items here and their clothes are in much better condition that other Salvation Army stores that I have visited.ALSO the clothes smell really good!! For some reason, all the clothes sold in my home town have a moth ball smell clinging to them. I initially thought that they were donated that way, but the fact that most of the clothes from this location smell clean suggests that other locations may store their inventory differently. I am pleasantly surprised.
I totally dig this store, heres why! Its clean inside, and as a consequence, the items you buy dont have a dirty grimey buildup, like I see at other thrift stores, secondly the Salvation Army really is helping people, Ive spoken to a couple of the employees there, and they were awesome people, as far as Im concerned, and Im pleased that my money spent goes towards helping people that Ive met and have gotten to know..and lastly, the prices are extremely reasonable, and if you shop on a half price sale day, you can walk away with some excellent stuff, with the satisfaction of knowing you helped your fellow man! A total win win scenario! So shop, shop hard!
Drivers in the parking lot are ruthless and impatient. It is a small PARKING LOT. Upon carefully carrying my old but very heavy functional television set to donate, a tall man with short brown hair yelled and ordered me to put it over there. When I asked where specifically, he gave me a menacing look and ordered me to put it down. Walking away in disgust, I glanced back and he clearly gave me a dirty look. How heartless and insensitive can you be? I thought Salvation Army was better than this!! Never again. Human kindness ~
Well it is a thrift store Ill give it that. It has the smell of a thrift store. It even has typical people like you get it a thrift store. And it even has items you can get at a real store for more than the real store sells them for. And theres pretty much nothing for guys. Yeah they have some clothes I guess but you know and I have some antiques I did see a really cool Wicked bus there. I have lots of good parking.... I saw a really hot girl across the street... They have a garbage can in the parking lot so you can clean your car.... Theres a bus stop in front of it... Theres lots of trees in the parking lot so theres lots of shade.... They dont have a bathroom... You can see airplanes fly by...
I Called and asked if I was able to do community service hours here for high school and they had told me yes. So, I went over an hour after I called and when I got there they said I had to wait for the manager named Able who was in the back of the warehouse. This guy able did not come out for like a good 45 min. When he finally did, he told me that he was only taking people to volunteer there that needed at lest 120 hours of community service hours and a close deadline.
My go-to thrift shop. They have a good selection of standard second hand items and a special section they call collectibles where they keep higher quality goods. Prices are still good and the store is one of the most organized and clean ones I go to. Also the staff are all very nice and helpful.
This Salvation Army makes it easy to clean house. Ive dropped off plenty of junk with no questions asked. One can just drive up and the staff will help put items in the proper bins. The thrift store is also on the premises. It is very large with plenty of collectables.
A nice selection of second hand (and some unused) knick knacks. New stuff comes in every day and a lot of times they bring things out of the back room just for the sale they have on the last Friday of every month. Go check it out Thursday before the sale to see what you want, then come early to snag it. ;)
Salvation Army is a very good place it seems like my wife and I have been together for the last eight years we love each other so much that we push each other so far away from each other but like today is new for starting over with learning how to love each other from a distance so that one day we can love each other. Got to love and save your ass we know him Jesus Christ once said that for God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whoever should believe in him should not perish but have everlasting life and I honestly believe in my heart and soul and God is the one there for me God is there for the world
Last bastion for an economically challenged general population, last resort before going homeless and joining the flooding rank of homeless people or families found throughout the highways and under bridges in one of the richest areas of this world...talk about the contrasts ...the affluent getting richer...and the rest....no place. To go ....back to living in caves.
I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO CALL THE W. TAYLOR ST LOCATION FOR 2 DAYS AND ALL I GET IS A BUSY SIGNAL. THEY ARE NO HELP. TRYING TO CONTACT THE RECOVERY PROGRAM. I NOW SOMEONE WHO NEEDS HELP AND YOU SEEM NOT TO CARE SO SOMEONE ANOTHER PROGRAM STEPPED UP, THANK YOU FOR NOTHING.

2021-08-31What can you say about second hand most don’t already know. I like Salvation Army for there mission to help others. This particular location you see the evidence right there with there men’s rehabilitation center on-site. They closed one other close location so this is the nearest place to my home. It’s not always a hit but when I do find something unique it makes my day. They revamped the place taking away there “luxury boutique “ which to be honest needed to be removed there we’re some items worthy of that category but for the most part not. Always friendly people working, organized, parking sometimes sucks but you can find a space. I’ll always continue to shop there.

2021-06-03This was my third visit to this store. Most prices are very good if you compare to the local goodwill stores, especially clothes and most housewares. I found 2 pieces of pottery for 1.99 each. Similar pieces at Goodwill would be 5 or 6 dollars. A beautiful lamp with shade for $8 & new work out pants for 3.99. I think they are a Kohls brand. Some funky retro pieces can be found. They also have items priced way too high. The basket storage/foot rest pictured is $19.99! Its damaged & worn and you can get something new up the street at Marshalls for the same or less. Dirty, outdated furniture is also way overpriced. The store is clean and staff are friendly.

2021-06-28This is a fantastic store. The selection and prices are great and inventory is updated frequently. Most importantly the staff are very welcoming and nice. For example, Jason in the donation center helped me today with some questions and donations I had, and was very kind and helpful. It makes me feel good to visit this store. Definitely worth a visit!

2021-06-03For the past two months I have been slowly cleaning out my place by bringing usable items here. When the furniture pieces werent in sellable condition for them, theyd tell me so. Otherwise they let people self-serve and place items into the bins. There must have been a recent change in policy. When I arrived today, the only staff member was opening up bags in one clothing/linen bin and looking into the contents. When I approached, he followed me and asked what I brought. I answered housewares and proceeded to look for the bins labelled as such. He asked what exactly, I said cushions. He said we dont take cushions. I said also fabric cubes. He paused to make a determination. I got a mix bag of stuff and didnt want to go through an item by item inspection so I left. Thank God he wasnt here last week, I dropped off dozens of books and one of them was not PG-13. 😅

2021-10-24Dont believe in their statement. Their workers that help in the back end sorting clothes are being overworked and expect to do certain criteria but they don’t get paid per piece but per hour. It’s legit a sweat shop. Management is discriminatory and favorable with certain people. Management is fishy and don’t abide by their mission statement. They also get work for free from people that are incarcerated. Very fishy place.
