The Gouda Morning SandwichServed on a toasted ciabatta bun with gouda cheese, our house made tomato aioli sauce, fresh sliced black forest ham, a fresh cooked egg, spinach, and red onion. Was amazing! My sister in law was visiting from Washington and they did a week long Road trip through California and she said that was the best breakfast that she had the whole trip! Very Good-a!
First time here. As soon as we walked in we were greeted with a Hello. Its already off to a good start.I reviewed the Yelp comments before coming in. So I read that the banana mocha blended was good. I used to order a similar drink from a place that shut down and reopened under new owners who no longer make my monkey mocha, so I stopped going there. So glad Yellow Mug Coffee does and it tastes great. The place inside is chill. About four people inside studying or what not. Two workers. They also had samples and the sample was delicious too. It was a cold coffee called Nutty Tropics. You wont be disappointed. Friendly staff. Ill definitely be back. Was given a punch card too. After you buy 10 you get one free. Yay!
I left this review on Yelp 2 weeks ago. In the last 15 days I have been to this spot 5 times!! It is out of my way, but I simply don’t care!!Since I have visited this spot many times in the recent days, I have noticed the compassionate culture that The Mug creates! The other day the traffic was CRAZY! The gentleman taking my order notified me that the kitchen was slightly backed up and my food order would take about 10 minutes. NO PROBLEM to me at all. I will gladly pay for customer service, great tasting coffee, and food any day of the week.I went in today and I found my go to gal, Taylor. She of course greeted me with the sweetest smile. She recognized me from weeks prior, and like before went above and beyond to make me feel special! I appreciate the culture The Mug provides and also the amazing customer service skills your team has. I know this post is a little deep for a post about a coffee shop, but you don’t get this kind of 5 star service many places anymore. I will find ways to go out of my way to be a regular customer here from now on. It all started with me stumbling upon the shop and having the best experience with Taylor. Now, I feel at home. Thank you all so much!!
I’ve lived in the area for quite some time and always noticed this coffee shop but never took the time to stop by. Well, yesterday I gave it a try and OMG literally the best coffee shop I’ve ever been to! I absolutely love the “Punch in the face” drink and Their “Gourda Breakfast Sandwich” I already went again today because My husband and I loved it! Best customer also what I also noticed that I loved was the workers knew almost everyones name walking in. I love that cause it gives more of a “You’re not just a customer type feeling”
Sure you can get coffee anywhere but when you get Coffee from the Mug you also get an experience. Michael and Crystal have the biggest hearts and put the community first. It really is the communitys coffee shop. Their baked goods are out of this world and the place is just somewhere cool to hang out. If you havent tried it you have to. Sure there is no drive through but the Mug is a place to go hang not just sip and run. However you will get hooked and its worth parking to run in even when youre in a rush. Dont miss the best coffee shop in town.
I absolutely LOVE coming to The Mug !I come here almost everyday (nearly 2-3 times a day whenever I get the chance) as I love there drinks, food and most especially the people who work there.Michael (the owner) does a phenomenal job in the hiring process. Everyone who works there like Caitlyn, Siya and Jordan have such great attitudes and make me feel welcome every time I come in.Its a great place to come to if you want to sit, chat or knock out some paperwork, as the shop offers such a relaxing environment.Just make sure to grab a Punch in the Face, Funky Money(two of their top specialty drinks) or any of Crystals (the owner) homemade cheesecake and cookies... theyre delicious !The best coffee shop here in the Fresno/Clovis area by far !Highly recommend !
Woah! The first time I interacted with The Mug was at a Recovery Summit at First Street Church. Michael and his company were generous enough to donate hot beverages and pastries at this event. Walking into the shop in Northeast Fresno, we were greeted by oldies music and a modern coffee shop and bar. We were also greeted by the owner, Michael, who is extremely personable. He was kind enough to ask for our names and broke down the community’s favorite breakfasts and pastries. In the near future, they will be hosting Sober Friday nights filled music, comedy, and art. Pro tip: Michael’s wife bakes all of the pastries.
This is definitely my family’s go to coffee shop. The new owners are awesome and actually take the time to come out and greet their customers sincerely. They are GREAT PEOPLE! The atmosphere is so welcoming. My husband and I love the blended caramel latte with espresso.😋 My son loves the berry blast fruit smoothie. I Highly recommend YELLOW MUG COFFEE SHOP ☕️ !!
Had a great experience there. New owner was very much service oriented and greeted me upon arrival. I would recommend this place for a relaxing cup of coffee. Also, they have cafe sandwiches which is always great when your hungry!Service was great.. Coffee tasted good.. Not weak like other places. I wanted to try something new and I did and it was delicious
Yet another change! I sure hope this place makes it. With that said, I did like the service and feel of the place which was so much better from the last time I visited-which I guess, to my surprise has been awhile- because the inside is much brighter and welcoming. To me its all about that great froth that comes with a custom coffee. And yay, the froth is back. Delicious ! A bit small and it can get crowded from the looks of it that day. But then again, Im not one to hang around inside.Great place, simple pantries and snacks, give it a visit and try the Punch In The Face which is my favorite.
Ive been to yellow mug several times and I love the coffee, snacks, and environment it has to offer. The staff here are very friendly and inviting but I have to be honest and share my disappointment with the pace of things. If youre in the neighborhood and want a quick bite or cup of coffee this is not the place. Expect a long a wait even on a slow day. Today in particular I felt the need to share some constructive criticism because my boyfriend and I waited 30 minutes to receive our drinks and this was after finishing our food which we had no beverage to accompany with.I didnt feel bad for us as much as I did for the gentlemen who walked out after paying for a drink he never received. I hope for growth and will continue coming here regardless but when I have time to spare.
Nice quaint decor/comfortable atmosphere! Staff was super friendly as well! Coffee was a little sweet for my taste, but the staff and atmosphere more than made up for it! I will be back!Edit: Went back and the lady remembered me from the last time I went in! Great service and great coffee!
The store has a welcoming atmosphere: a library exchange, board games you can borrow, and a corkboard of gift cards for those in need. The shop owners are personable and interested in your day. Ive spent many hours here by myself studying, but Ive spent countless hours here socializing with my professors, colleagues, significant other, and friends. Check this place out if you enjoy supporting local businesses.
This is my go-to coffee shop! The coffee and food are consistently great, and the employees always provide excellent service. The atmosphere is super welcoming and cozy, and it’s the perfect spot to sit down and enjoy a nice cup of coffee while working on homework or meeting up with friends. 💛
Tried this place today! IT IS GREAT! As a coffee goer I have never met so friendly employees at a coffee shop! Got to know two of there names and they shook hands with me, even after this one guy clocked out he still took the time to shack hands with customers. They even gave me multiple ways to earn free drinks, punch cards and sqaure counter. 98/10, yes ten, my only issue (THIS IS NOT A COMPLAINT) is that it closes rather early, but nevertheless, the boss politely asked for us to go AN HOUR AFTER CLOSE! This place is amazing. 98/10
The service was excellent! You get 10% off your order if youre a first time customer. The coffee was good and there was a cozy and welcoming feeling inside. 10/10 would recommend, the staff were so helpful and beyond kind! My friends and I came from out of town and well definitely be stopping by in the future
Stopped here on a Sunday morning, and had quite a lovely time! I got the dark roast drip, because Im a plebeian. The staff made the Yellow Mug one of the most welcoming covfefe shops Ive ever visited! The shop isnt anything flashy, but the interior was nice and clean with good seating and plenty of natural light.Ill definitely go back if I have time while Im here in Fresno.
10 stars if I could!!! I don’t think I could say how much I love this place. Talk about the kindest, most genuine business owners. They actually take the time to get to know their customers. I come in with my brand new newborn and they offered to help take the coffee to my car For me. Not to mention the coffee is really delicious! It is the only coffee shop I will go to because it’s organic and family owned.
I didn’t know I was addicted to Bagels and smoothies Until I visited the yellow mug. Certainly a combination I could not have foreseen. I come here and order it regularly. As of late, I’m guilty of going back to the counter to order round two. I LOVE ALL OF THE FLAVORS.I recommend going around 11 1130 to avoid the lunch rush. This place can Get pretty filled up very fast. If the line is out the door. I still recommend waiting because it is completely worth it.
Its a great place and the service is exceptional. I do have one recommendation. Give customers the option of tipping when they pay with their credit card. I may not have cash all the time on me, but I always have my cards. In places with great service I make it a point to tip and when I cant I feel like I cant reward the staff for the great job they are doing.
I live in the Seattle area but have been visiting family close to this lovely coffee shop. The coffee is excellent and the food offerings varied and fresh. I have had a veggie bagel and the quiche so far, both very good. They play great music and the atmosphere is cosy and bright!
Love this place! The people that work here are always courteous and friendly. There are many coffee shops around my house, but none like yellow mug, aside from a clean and cozy environment with free wifi, you can also bring your pup along! Which is huge for my dog & I 😜
This small clean independent coffeehouse is what such locations should all aspire to be. Although somewhat costly it isnt in any way outside the price range of such establishments. And for that price the locations presents a simple clean aesthetic, friendly owner and barista, and a selection of snacks and baked goods. And, of course, quality coffee and espresso. The espresso is particularly worth nothing because while it will always have some bitter and acid notes controlling these and balancing with the rich coffee flavor requires control of bean, grind, and settings of the machine all. And I am very glad to report that this establishment provides a solid espresso experiance for those who care about that. Even for those simply seeking an iced coffee the friendly environment and selection of baked goods will probably make it worth the trip.
Delicious coffee and great service! This coffee shop has both inside and outside seating. It gets really packed during the weekend, and the inside area is very limited. I think I would mostly come here to pick up a cup of cappuccino and be on my merry way instead of making it my working spot.
VERY inconsistent quality of what you get off of the menu. A chai tea latte tastes like steamed milk. There was no flavor at all. Order a bagel with cream cheese on it and one time you barely get any cream cheese at all the next time you get a slab of it. Its really a bummer because I would much rather give my money to a local owner vs SB or Dutch. Good thing there is Cup A Joy just a mile down the road!
My favorite coffee spot! I get my Americano 1-4 times a week at Yellow Mug. At this point, I wont order espresso anywhere else! The staff is super friendly, they made me feel like a regular right away... so I became one. Lol. The inside is so cute and cozy. They have a take one, leave one bookshelf! I feel this says a lot about how much they care for their local community! And dogs (on leashes) are welcome! What a better start to the day than with delicious espresso and the chance of making a new puppy friend?!
Great people, great coffee, great service. Ive had a few of the specially drinks (Punch in the Face). Espresso is made right, Americano is one of the best in town. They serve breakfast sandwiches, snacks and bagels which are all tasty. There is inside and patio seating. They have a wifi printer if your working. This is a nice little gem of a coffee shop.
Simply put; cozy space, good wifi, tables of different height to study or relax; comfy sofas and love seats. Literally everything you would need/want from a coffee shop. The owner and staff are the sprinkles on top. Mike makes one hell of a flat white. Would prefer this place over Starbucks any day of the week.
SO i love that they have done events, but I dont think they are prepared to do so.I recently attended the acoustic concert at Yellow mug.I was excited to give them another chanceHere is the problemThe event started at 6 per ticketsWe arrived at 530, we were like 8 or so in lineand waited...outside in line, in the sun, in the over 100 weatherThey informed us we would be let in at 545They sold special drinks for this event, they were advertising outside but only took cash orders.they did not let us in until 555 or so, those ten minutes made a big differenceThey then only sold the drinks for a few more minutes inside, then about 10 minutes before he actually came out, they said they could no longer make any drinks, because the show was going to start...I understand that...but if you are going to do that, then let us in early enough so we can order these drinks you have created especially for the showit just makes me disappointed, i had so much hope for this place and I am still not satisfied
Liholiho is definitely one of my top favorite restaurants in SF. The homemade spam (ask for the off menu item!) is amazing and the food portions are perfect for sharing. We also go the beef ribs, which was way more food than I thought it would be, and the cauliflower dish.
It is quiet. That is huge for me because everywhere else I go is not this peaceful. The peeps who work there are not that friendly and they dont know my name, so it is chill. They dont pretend to care like Starbucks peeps do. People who go there dont yammer away endlessly. It is calm, peaceful, dull...which is perfect. You can go there and drink yer coffee and u wont see anyone you know. Music is good, too. But you should not go there or tell anyone else to go there because it isnt busy and I want it to stay thst way. Seriously, it is almost perfect.
Even later update: new expansion into shop to the east is completed. Tons of room, there is now a small stage in the corner that will soon host musicians and comedians on Friday evenings. Check the website for details.Update: remodel completed, more room for chairs and tables, good thing, this place is full much of the time. Coffee is the best in town and Crystals homemade treats are to die for! The staff is not only competent, but very friendly and go out of their way to serve their customers well. I just love this place!Celebrating grand re-opening tonight. Mike and Crystal have done fantastic work with this place. Great coffee, great friends, and Jesus!
Inside is newly renovated! It looks super cute. Great space. You dont feel crowded. Love the options of food and drinks here, although I havent had a drink which is the 4 star because I have not had their drink menu. I always carry water on hand...but sweater weather is approaching and I cant wait to try their hot drinks and read a book. There are some cozier seats and more traditional table and chair options. Wish I loved closer to The Mug! Thank you to the owners for being good humans!

2022-08-21Delicious and lovely ambiance. Sweet and happy staff! I was nervous about the gouda sandwich being too tough, but I was very pleased! You can taste the fresh ingredients. The ciabatta was soft yet toastyand the egg was perfectly cooked. I asked for cooked spinach-perfect! I was surprised that the ham was not lunch meat style!!! And the tomato aoli just wrapped everything in a bow. HIGHLY recommend... oh and the drink! Also perfect! Great flavor and quality ingredients. I will be back and telling everyone.

2022-07-06The owners and their associates are nothing less than friendly and helpful. Their drinks are tasty and food is freshly made per your order. One my favorite breakfast sandwiches is the Breakfast Brioche.

2020-12-18This little piece of heaven is a hidden gem. With a variety of coffee drinks, breakfast and lunch items, its got a lot to offer. Its quaint atmosphere is quite homely. Where everyone who walks in is treated like family. The Breakfast Brioche is by far one of my favorite things there. Legit. Some coffee places have breakfast sandwiches to supplement their menu, but this sandwich is something I will go in for all by itself next time.Youve got to try it! And if you havent. You wont regret it!*note. Angelo is such a treat!! A local artist who features his work here. 🥰

2022-05-16This place is adorable, their food is really good and their drinks are great. Seating is nice and is the kind of place you could sit at and study or read. Only gave four stars because their service is a little slow, but honestly worth it.

2022-04-12I came here when they first opened years ago and I kinda forgot about them because I really thought they were just average. I wasnt a fan of all the yellow and it just seemed kinda low end. Wow, have they changed!! Totally remodeled with better espresso/coffee than they ever had and all the yellow is gone. I also understand there may be an expansion coming soon? I am so glad I came back to open my eyes to all the changes. If you havent been here lately, come check it out.
