We were just visiting the hotel, we did not stay overnight. We planned on dinning there Saturday evening for our anniversary. We were informed we could not, as we were not guests of the hotel. We then stopped in the Spa to pick up a few products. I realized when I got home that one of the facial products had expired. ( $48.00 ) The manager was very apologetic and mailed a product to replace it.All in all, it was not our cup of tea.
An absolutely beautiful hotel with gorgeous outdoor areas, including a horseshoe garden, Japanese garden, and a small lake. The lobby and the hallways are beautifully appointed , with chandeliers and multiple seating areas. The rooms are exquisite. One of my very favorite hotels.
Astonishing inn to remain! They have an amazing pool, clean water, extraordinary food, and a chilly brew. I will visit and stay longer since I like the view before the room, which straightforwardly prompts the pool. The rooms are an extraordinary size, and a portion of the perspectives are amazing. You will not be baffled!
What can I say ? It was sublime - the food, the atmosphere and ohhh my goodness, the architecture and decor of the building and hotel. $16 for the car valet and amazing service from start to finish. Food was amazing and I cannot say anything bad about this place - I’ve been to a few of the Langham’s worldwide and this one is in the Huntington area but a hidden jewel. Breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner or just drinks, a great place to be.
We were invited to a wedding here. The outdoor grounds were lush with soothing night lights. The land is elevated so you get a good city view too. Servers were neat and polite. Mostly upscale crowd in the hotel dressed up and classy. A very pleasant experience. The lobby has many lounge areas and bar.
I was disappointed. So many parts closed for no reason, and not announced at the ticket office. $25 for a partial garden view, and nasty about kicking you out at 4:50pm. Gives reinforced meaning to the term railroaded ... thats a pun on the railroad tycoons legacy... so nice of him to show off his wealth that was procured off the backs of abused railroad laborers and stolen real estate during the early colonization of CA.
To me staying a stay at the Langham is always like going home. My parents live several blocks away so growing up whether it was the The Huntington Sheraton or the Ritz Carlton or now the Langham its filled with memories in every corner. In highschool my friends and I walking straight into the hotel to lay poolside and enjoy our day. Walking through the gardens with my Mom every spring and many many other memories as I left my teens and entered my 20s , 30s and 40s.We stayed for 5 days June 2022 while our house several blocks away was having work done. It was close and convenient to run back and forth easily and simultaneously relax and enjoy the surroundings. While the service is always wonderful and the food is great I will say that having stayed through out the years that the Langham can use some upgrades. What makes the Langham beautiful and irreplaceable are the astounding grounds- no matter where you are staying. It is really hands down one of the most beautiful places in Los Angeles and a few upgrades in the rooms will go along way. Thanks for taking me down memory laneDana Y
Stayed for business for three nights in October 2021. Strict mask use and enforcement in indoor common areas. Lovely hotel with historical charm, but fully updated. Fresh flowers found throughout the building. Stayed in 255 with views of the hot tub and easy access to the pool. Enjoyed a burger and fries by the pool, and room service desserts and pizza. Pizza was the best room service pizza ever. Not sure how they did that. The Tap room bar had many seating areas to space yourselves away from others. Service was excellent.
Before it was The Langham, it was the Ritz Carlton - and a few other hotels before The Langham, but what has never changed is the gorgeous historic location that IS The Langham. A rose by any other name is still.. a rose.As a Pasadena native, I know that The Langham was always the pinnacle of luxury, beauty, hospitality, and historic verve. I have stayed there numerous times and it just never gets old. The last time, I had a cottage on the grounds. Unfortunately, it was during Covid so there was no room service, and the restaurants were only open certain hours, so that was a little difficult because The Langham is in a residential area, so you cant walk to restaurants. This is not a walkable location so if thats what youre looking for, know what youre getting in to. But who cares? The grounds are so gorgeous and the rooms so luxurious that you can overlook that.Everything The Langham provides is top-notch. This is an upscale hotel in the midst of multi, multi-million dollar homes. Its like a hotel set in the high-rent district of Beverly Hills, only its better because its Pasadena. This hotel is more of a destination than an actual stay one night on my way to a destination hotel. These are the way hotels used to be - a place to relax, to savor, to enjoy when you have the time to do so.Would I recommend The Langham? Without question. The hotel IS the experience. There is no comparison.
Check in was easy and fast . Getting our room before 3pm ( the check in time ) we got it earlier and we had lunch at the pool . The food is “ok” nothing too exciting just long wait times for the food… the kid’s burger 🍔 wasn’t good at all!!! ( avoid the kid’s menu) .The room are super spacious tall ceilings, Coffee tea machine, mini fridge, complementary water, safe in any room.Poolside room are a MUST if you have kids just a balcony with a few steps and you at the pool
Would have given 5 stars - the staff was absolutely amazing and the property is beautiful. We stayed in a ground unit with a patio / outdoor area - not once, but twice (that we know of) we had other guests try to get in our room from the patio door. It’s fenced off with shrubs / but there’s gaps in what’s planted. Assuming they meant to get to their room but silly design given security risk. The doors to the patio are glass / windows, with curtains on the interior.
The Huntington has a long and wonderful history and is a throwback to the glory days of California in the 1920s. Ive been staying there since its days as a Ritz-Carlton in the early 1990s. Now the Langham group owns it and has restored much of it to its former splendor -- especially the grounds and the covered bridge over the pool, which is a spectacular showcase for the local art of the late Frank Moore. Service is first-rate, from the restaurant to the valet parking. Our room this time, however, was a little tired. Not much had changed in the Lanai building in two decades, and it showed -- especially with the carpeting and bathroom. But wow the terrace restaurant was spectacular at breakfast, and the grounds, pool and gardens are as beautiful as always. A three-mile run through the amazing neighborhood is definitely worth it. Despite being a little tattered around the edges from a room standpoint, Id still rate the Huntington as five stars for the overall experience and the proximity to downtown Pasadena.
The hotel was great. I didnt stay there for the night but had a meeting there. The bathrooms are super clean and staff is friendly. The food is absurdly expensive and the coffee for $6.62 was lukewarm at best. But a great place to walk around in and the pool was super clean it seemed.
I stayed at the Langham for 3 nights. In general, the stay was great. Nice staff, clean hotel (even though it’s starting to get a little old), beautiful views from the room. The food was decent (nothing crazy) and very $$. Also, usually all guests have the pink Langham boxes of water in their room while I was given plastic bottles. But all to say, everything else was great.
I was completely satisfied with the service provided in that 5 star hotel. Restaurant and bar are decorated very well. The back yard of the hotel gives you a wonderful view to LA area. It is very calm and safe over there.I think that it is a perfect place for a romantic weekend with your loved one.The staff is very-very friendly and courteous. They are full of respect and understanding when it comes to privacy and security of the clients. Pool area is really nice and good organized with bar access (bar works till 8.30pm).I really like their SPA. It is work of art and perfection. You can relax with your body and soul there.Highly recommend! A+
I rarely write reviews but I stayed here last week and a valet here named Phil made a lasting impression on me. He greeted me with a smile and was so nice to me and my dad. I just bought a corvette recently and was extremely worried about some one else parking my car. Phil took care of all my worries and even joked and made me laugh. He even walked us into the hotel and made us feel welcomed there Introducing us to a world of superior service that me and my dad just weren’t used to. We felt like Kings! Thanks Phil!
What a remarkable architecture! I love the vintage ambience of The Langham, Huntington, Pasadena. We had a most wonderful Sunday breakfast there, and everything was impressive, the freshness and the inventiveness of the food, the service and the addictive coffee... It was just a rare escape from reality, and a fun way to travel back to the glamorous haydays reminiscent of the era of The Great Gatsby.
We had a great family experience at the Langham in Pasadena. The hotel was clean, well maintained, and top notch service. They have an outdoor kids area with ping pong and other activities to keep the kids entertained. The pool was not very crowded and clean. There were some subpar reviews on TripAdvisor, but glad we ignored these. Would certainly stay again if we are in the area.
An historic, classic hotel in an urban setting. Elegant facilities, friendly staff , and a hotel/facility/spa doing their best to work through Covid. The rooms in the main building, although refurbished, are a little dated. The cottages, and cottage suites are a great testament to property that welcomes guest that appreciate the finer days of hotel experiences. The newer guest rooms around the pool are more modern with great pool access. Good for families or just romantic get aways.
Do not purchase a gift card from this establishment. They will tell you you have a zero balance on it. I was gifted a $500 gift card for this Hotel & Spa. The first time I tried using it they told me I had a zero balance. I had to go through the trouble of having the person who gifted it to me prove they purchased the card. Hotel finally credit the gift card. I used it at the Spa and had a remaining balance. Next time I tried to use it I was told it had a zero balance. Dishonest!
I just made a reservation and have already had a great experience. I called because I had a question about the day I will be checking in and Melissa answered all of my questions and was the best help. Best customer service experience ever. Literally leaving a review just because of a phone call haha
I had a wonderful stay here. It was beautiful and huge. Definitely would recommend for anyone looking to take cute pictures because they had so many nice photo ops but I came alone and didn’t have a friend to photograph me! The gardens here, I only had time to take a quick glance at night but I know they must be stunning in the daylight. It was such a clean and beautiful stay and the staff was amazing. I came here all the way from North Carolina but I would definitely hope anyone looking to stay in LA, picks The Langham because you will not be disappointed!
Its a cute hotel with a lot of beautiful astetic s . The different rooms all have their own character and the outside gardens and pool provides a tranquil escape. For the most part the staff is nice and friendly at the front desk but the valets could be a bit more hospitable .
Photo of Lou A.Lou A.Palm Springs, CA102227/20/2021We just returned home after a two night stay in the Langham. The building is beautiful. One would think that after paying $400 a night you wouldnt have these issues. First, the lack of a coffee machine in the room that didnt make a decent cup of coffee, was terrible. They had a machine that made a 2 oz cup of cappuccino, not what I want when I first wake up. Secondly, the bed had a duvet with no sheet underneath. The duvet was filled with so much filler that you could sleep at night. First night was a terrible summer nights sleep. Who needs a filled duvet in the summer. The last was the TV only offered local channels. We had stayed in a hotel in Hollywood that had Netflick on their TV. We would never return. We EXPECTED MORE, COFFEE, A SHEET AND GOOD TV.Just checked by credit card company and I was charged $2050.72 for the two nights instead of the $738.26 I should have been charged. Still waiting on a call back about that.
Incredible...visual..senses enriched. Great food and greens . The front desk and spa do not know what they are doing..and lost our spa reservations ..unacceptable for this level of Forbes resorts..There room service is ridiculous..embarrassing to the American historical Ritz Carleton and Royce names. The asain company that bought it..is also placing Asian modern vases in places that ruin the historic ambiance that is the Langham and that works travelers expect
Tea time is what I do here and I love it. It’s sophisticated, beautifully landscaped place. It’s a hidden gem. The tea sandwiches are delicious and the staff is top notch. My daughter has a severe nut allergy and I wanted them to please be aware. They went out of their way and brought out every single ingredient of the items we ate. I felt so comfortable and we ate it all up!
Stunning!! Be transported back in time to the classiest joint of the 1920s. We had a balcony room, overlooking the pool and it was certainly worth it. The pool is big and LOTS of sunchairs about. I love suntanning with grass and grenery around:)All the food my husband and I tried was great, and OMG the mac n cheese at the tap room 😍We will definitely be back!Pix of room and balcony. I was obsessed with the light fixtures everywhere! The Japanese garden was very beautiful and tranquil.
We checked out 3 days early. The room was nice and clean. Unfortunately, the pool was not. We went for a staycation so that the kids could swim. On the first day, I saw 2 used bandaids on the rock pool deck. I thought it was gross but assumed someone would be by to clean them up at some point during the day. However, on our 2nd and 3rd day of swimming they were still there. The rocks were so dirty that my feet were gross when I put them on my white towel. I told the staff at the hideaway and at the front desk. The dirty bandaids were still there on the 4th day. Knowing that we are still in a pandemic, I did not feel comfortable with the low level of cleaning services in a high use area.
Updated: 2019 2020 (STE) 2021 COVID TO (FSIP) 20224.5 Star Rating. Superb Classic Hotel and Chain Spa!The Chandelier Crystal throughout the Langham was cleaned---adding a superb photographic dimension to the stay. Many familiar faces at the Club Lounge like Verna/George as we conducted business/socialized/interviewed.This review is indicative of 10+ years of annual visits. A Pink Flamingo was floating in a cerulean blue pool as the views from the bridge were wonderful and small yet substantive enhancements were observed during a Chinese Garden stroll. Chuan Spa is on the Best of LA list.Club Level service is excellent and inspired a walk down to Lacy Park (My Mr. Huntingtons plants have grown). Georgian Ball Room reminded me of Schoenbrunn exteriors in Vienna (Osterreich). Dinner at the Royce by Chef Dominque Shelton culinary gifts were of note. Nice to meet you, so grateful for the opportunity to observe.---4.5 Star Rating. Awesome Hotel, class with modern luxury. This review represents consistent yearly visits over the span of 5+ years. Langham Huntington is in an unassuming location boasting healthy gardens and secretly nested in a historic residential area bordering San Marino.Valet was attentive---they helped me remove my bike from the trunk. A nice service offered is the option to rent bikes (which is a great way to explore this unique micro world surrounding the Langham). This little world is full of diverse architecture, wide streets lined with Oak and Coastal Redwoods (Sequoia sempervirens) and is a short drive from the Gamble House designed by Greene & Greene.Nothing other than Club Level will do here and its located on a private security floor. If you do opt to stay for more than a night the best choice is a Club Room which includes access to the Club Lounge (Business attire only) as a patron was spotted in pajamas during a visit---it was funny and memorable in addition to the several celebrity sightings. Five meal presentations are presented daily, which includes a full English Tea Service and alcoholic/non-alcoholic beverages. Personalized concierge service is included with the room. COVID restrictions. Check booking to determine if Club Level is open as of 1/25/22 no club rooms are offered (party preference).Keep in mind the staying at the Langham Huntington includes full access to the Spa (Chuan Spa) rated Best of LA the famous pool with historic bridge and separate mens & womens private lockers along with gym, heated whirlpool, steam and dry sauna. Dancing (no pajamas allowed) is offered along with live music at The Tap Room (look for illuminated light bulb at entry and you are there). Should you prefer sports involving balls then check out tennis courts on the west side of the property in front of the cottages. The Chinese Gardens are impeccable and its not a surprise to find resident geese, squirrels, ducks and large koi in the pools of the garden. So delightful to watch wildlife from the red bridge while pink flower petals flew past us on the wind from the 50 plus year old Cherry Blossom trees. Truly an ethereal experience we have had here regularly as nature consumes you and smiles flow forth from patrons without delay.Breathtaking, exceptional and consistently offering contemporary convenience with old world elegance, class and service on 23 magnificent landscaped acres. The customized service is great as they know us and the same staff that serves us to a level one would come to expect at a Ritz Carlton property.Staying at the Huntington has become a tradition most often visited with family, friends, Nobel Prize winners, Scholars, Ivy League Buddies and we even met members of the UCLA Football team (long story). They usually have very little availability so call in advance as they offer incentives for advance bookings.Langham Huntington Hotel is overdue to be awarded a 5 Diamond distinction.
In the heart of beautiful and quiet Pasadena you can find this amazing resort. My husband and I arrived there after a long road trip on the highway 1, we were tired of the cheap hotels along the way so we decided to end our California trip in relax and surrounded by the luxurious comfort of The Langham, it was a great choice. The staff was warm and friendly, the room elegant with fine furniture and luxury products of the Chuan spa by Laura Tonatto, an amazing Italian fragrance maker called “the nose”. After a healthy breakfast we spent the morning by the pool and relaxed with a mocktail in the regenerative spa. A must do is a walk on the sunset in the Japanese garden were you can read a book in the zen atmosphere of the garden. Can’t wait to visit another Langham in another location around the world.
Even though I havent been here overnight. I have been to this hotel. This has to be one of my favorite Ritz Carlton hotels. I was and did apply for a job at this location, that didnt happen, no big deal. The grounds here are beautiful. I hope to stay here at least for one night some time.
Came out here for the game. Wanted to enjoy our visit but found out quickly the employees of this establishment like to post their guests private business on social media. We’ll be finding somewhere else because now we have to be concerned with the safety of our children and our family. We’ll also be reaching out to corporate with screenshots.
I can not recommend this place enough! We spent a three day weekend here and were treated like royalty. From the moment we arrived from valet to check in everything was smooth. Front desk was busy three ways to Sunday and yet had the best people working, pleasant and professional. We booked on the Club level or concierge level as the case may be. What a great room, nice mini bar and bell service. The club room was / is a great value amenity. The room again, so comfortable and I love having a wooden valet rack in the room, a great throw back to a time of shear elegance in hotel stays. The bath was perfect as well. Four restaurants on property and a free local shuttle. We will be back again soon.
Fairly pleasant stay. Room was comfortable if a little old fashioned. Spa staff impolite but colleagues in executive lounge were great. Pool too cold to use. Valet parking is a pain as it adds time and inconvenience versus self parking. Not a bad place for a quiet weekend.
The hotel is absolutely beautiful. The holiday decorations are so special. I stayed the night with my daughter. We went to happy hour on the patio. I recommend the signature whiskey drink, it had a cinnamon stick in it, cant remember the name of it. Also, the mini Wagyu burgers were amazing. I just love this property so much and will definitely be returning soon
This is a very beautiful hotel. The bar is lovely, and used to be a wonderful place for dancing. The entertainment has changed, and in my opinion not as lively as it once was. Seems its focusing on a older group. The lounge used to be very busy with all the seating taken early in the evening. Last night there was plenty of seats available at 9:30pm. Bring back the dance music please.
Loved the special time with friends. The only disappointment was the unknown charge of $8 a bottle for water. We werent told of the cost before and was charged $24 for water. We knew we were responsible for cocktails, coffee and wine but were caught off guard with the water charge. Just be aware. It still is a beautiful place for our yearly Christmas luncheon.
I come here to get amazing deep tissue massage today Brian did an amazing job! Made me feel like 20 years old 😂Im 60 to be able to use the spa facility is great, very clean and nice environment, afrter my massage Brian took me to resting area and brought me a glass of champagne 🥂 I slept for about an hour and left the place feeling like a milion bucks I highly recommend this place in South Pasadena 😊
Would have given this five stars, but we ate at the steak restaurant Royce and the waiter was a nightmare. He was so rude and rolled his eyes at us several times and had a rude tone. It was my mom’s bday and he ruined her dinner. The staff who works at the club level were AMAZING. Staying on the club level is a must. They were so sweet to my kids who have food allergies and went out of their way to get them food they could eat. They wait on you hand and foot and make you feel like royalty. Alex, Eva, and Louisa went above and beyond to take excellent care of us, and we spent a lot of our time in the club room because of them! The hotel is beautiful and we come once a year because we love it so much. Just hope they can fix the waiter issue because when you spend $300 on a meal for three people you expect better service!
We went for the Langham Huntington afternoon tea as a treat. The hotel and grounds are beautiful and the lobby lounge has a nice atmosphere and decor, including fresh flowers. However we were disappointed with the quality of some of the food, the limit of 3 types of tea per table even for larger groups, and the slow service to refill tea. The sandwiches did not have much flavour and were either soggy or dry, which means they were likely prepared in advance. The scones were delicious and our favourite part of the service. There was a wide selection of mini desserts (see the photo) which were very tasty. The service at the start was good although one of the main points of going for tea is to try the tea you would like to try, so it was very strange to have a limit of 3 pots per table regardless of group size. After a large group arrived we did not have service for awhile and were waiting for tea refills for a long time. The Langham London has much better service, food and individual tea pots for each person. Hope that the Langham Pasadena can improve since the setting is beautiful and it has the potential to be really nice
Very nice and fancy. Way out of our element but we have always wanted to stay at a 5 star hotel. We got room service and its was really good (and expensive). The property is nice and you can feel the history it has. The surrounding areas are also very pretty and expensive feeling. I probably wouldnt spent the money again but for a one time experience it was cool.
Beautiful hotel. Very friendly and polite staff. You get what you pay for in this place and its not cheap, monetary or visually. We had breakfast the next morning too and it was perfect. Very welcoming to us and our children which was a surprise, it being a very grown up hotel.
My gosh. What a beautiful hotel. Its located in a small residential area in Pasadena and driving up you would even expect it to be as large as it is. We were there for an event in the ballroom and it was absolutely stunning. The food there was great as well but I am not completely sure if the food was provided by the hotel or outside catering. Walking around outside the next day was a incredible as well, they have a beautiful courtyard, a great garden area with a pond and bridge, and so much more, it is definitely a hotel you could spend all day at and not have any regrets. We did not use the pool but they did have a huge pool and a lot of seating area. All in all phenomenal. We were lucky enough to be assisted by Ms. Robin Gamino, one of the managers there, and she definitely made the stay an extremely memorable one. She was extremely nice and more than happy to assist us with anything we needed. One of the best hotel managers I have ever met.We ate breakfast at the terrace and it was amazing as you could imagine, we got to eat outside overlooking the pool and other areas and it was really a sight to behold.Absolutely recommend this place if you ever get a chance to go. You wont be dissapointed!
We stayed here for a very special occasion. We had court the next morning to finalize our adoption. My daughter said she wanted to stay somewhere fancy. I will be honest, never stayed in a 5 star hotel before. Didnt know what to expect. The service was beyond exceptional. Very friendly staff. Beautiful grounds. They have a beautiful restaurant but my daughter chose McDonalds lol. I hope one day we get to go back.
Absolutely outstanding hotel/resort !!!My husband was in Los Angeles for business and we stay at the hotel with my 2years old daughter. Everyone was so nice and care for us. It was suck a unique moment for all of us. It was family friendly, luxurious and very peaceful.Plus, as my husband arrived a little early and his room wasnt ready we got upgraded to the gorgeous and romantic cottage . WOW ! We loved it and we will come back for that getaway in the cottage for sure !
We stayed in a cottage sweet, which is traditionally decorated but very nice. We were there to celebrate my birthday and every employee went out of their way to wish me a happy birthday and I was given multiple treats as well. We enjoyed a fantastic dinner as the terrace. I thoroughly enjoyed my deep tissue massage at the spa. Again very nice facilities, a little small, but nice. My only wish is that there was an adult only pool as there were a ton of kids at the pool which definitely raised the volume.
I cannot say enough great things about this place. Its gorgeous and feels like you are stepping back in time. I felt like royalty--and was treated as such. Parking is valet only (I believe about $40/night) w no option for street parking since this place is located in the middle of a residential area. Also, it is about 1.5 miles away from any eateries. So you are semi forced to eat on site. But again, it is a beautiful hotel so you might as well treat yourself!
Absolutely beautiful hotel. Bad experience at terrace restaurant with a very mean waitress, not friendly at all. Another valet was consistently rude and condescending. Everyone else on their staff, including housekeeping and room service attendants were absolutely wonderful. My little one enjoyed the pool, and Langham station. Will give it another try when we come for high tea
This luxary 5-star hotel lives up and surpasses any expectations I had. Service is top-notch and the staff go out of their way to make sure you feel comfortable and are well-taken cared of. Very friendly and courteous our stay here was one of the best experiences weve had at a hotel. Forbes rated this place 4 stars and is ranked one of the finest properties on Earth and they arent lying! This place oozes luxury hotel living at its finest and if you like to be pampered this is the place for you. Parking is valet service only, there is marble and fresh orchid flowers everywhere. You know youre in a fancy place when the restrooms use actual cotton hand towels instead of paper napkins. There were two weddings taking place while we were here and the accommodations were high-class. We also experienced the Michelin-guide recommended restaurant on the property, The Royce Woodfired Steakhouse and that was great as well! Overall an awesome and memorable experience!
This hotel is absolutely amazing!!! The whole place is amazing and we were so welcomed and helped by everyone. The pool is great and the garden areas are beautiful! Best of all they are so clean you could eat off your floor,no joke. Beds ate comfortable and everything is so clean. They do an amazing job there to make you feel welcome and comfortable. I tried the tap house and ordered the tacos which were delicious. Will definitely be going back often.
My wife found this place for a weekend staycation. We fell in love with it. While a little pricey it was well worth it. The grounds are stunning, all the on property restaurants are excellent and the customer service is above and beyond our expectations. I highly recommend this hotel.
I had one of the most amazing times going to the 1 of the many restaurants at this hotel. The staff is very nice and friendly. I was looking for were I needed to go. A manager stopped what he was doing and walked us all the way were we needed to be instead of just pointing the way. I guarantee your wife will not be disappointed if you take her here for a night for dinner. They have a amazing Japanese garden that nice pictures can be taken.
Amenities and location.Couldn’t get our bill straight - blamed us even though we explained upon check in that the room charge was a gift and we would pay for incidentals. They charged the whole amount to our card. Also we have a service animal and they were not particularly “pet friendly” as they have been in the past. Portions for breakfast room service were very small.
This place has replaced the Peninsula as my favorite high tea spot. The food is SO GOOD here, both in taste and presentation. The teas are great, too. Service is also top notch. The servers kept our teas filled, and when I casually mentioned to one how much I loved the apricot cones, she graciously offered to bring us more....she ended up bringing us 4 more. So awesome. And when I was getting the check from another server, she was like, aww, treating the parents, how nice! Both their birthdays were earlier in the week!:o! You shouldve told us that earlier! Okay Ill be right back....she came back with a plate of MONSTROUS SIZED chocolate-dipped strawberries and chocolates with happy birthday written below, with lit candles on both strawberries. So awesome! My parents were super impressed. Just for today I was the best daughter in the entire world.Actually Im a really awesome daughter ALL THE TIME. Of course.
The drinks and food here are pretty good. Ive been to the bar many times and the special cocktails are great, I really like the Smoked Paloma. The free snacks they give you are really good too. Ive been to the restaurant a couple times, The Royce. Its great. Great food and really good service. Great steaks and the mothers day brunch buffet was excellent and a really good deal with lots of options and all of high quality. I havent stayed in the rooms but from what I hear they are pretty dated and in need of some modernizing.
I spend a lot of time in hotels traveling for work and vacation. So it’s pretty easy for me to spot the little things that make my stay more comfortable and enjoyable and list for the langham is a long one.Starting with arrival: The doormen walk up to every vehicle and genuinely ask how you’re doing and if they can do anything for you.If it’s your first time they will guide you right to checking desks.Even though I arrived many hours before my check in my room was cleaned and available. With the hotel having a large footprint it’s was about a 5 minute journey to through a courtyard, elegantly decorated hallways and fragrant ornamental flower gardens. As I entered the building the fragrance from the gardens seemed to carry through the hallways creating a sense of calmness. My room was spacious and well furnished with high end tables, chairs and bedding.A few minutes after settling in a concierge showed up and provided me with a complimentary bath robe and slippers.Next up was launch. My favorite part of this stay was the top notch food prepared by the 24hr kitchen which will deliver straight to your room. They kitchen and wait staff were extremely accommodating even with some off menu requests.I highly recommend the Langham if you’re looking for a care free home away from home after a long day touring the city or traveling for work.
What a lovely place! I have been coming here since it was The Ritz Carlton, which was a little better than now. But it is still pretty darn lovely. I always loved having afternoon tea. The server, Kit, made all the difference, of course. The scones were served delicious, hot steamy inside. The finger sandwiches were perfectly made with just the right amount of mayonnaise. The decadent chocolate cakes and lemon cakes for dessert were amazing. My favorite tea was the Flower Flavor, if not the Silk Road. The view of the garden was beautiful. The flowers were fresh and well complimenting. The prices were a bit steep, but you get what you pay for. My daughter had her first birthday celebration here, and I had other special events here over the years. Lovely every time!
Love the bar, awesome nature atmosphere in an otherwise busy area. The garden is a pleasure to stroll through as well. The rooms are decent but definitely shows a bit of age. Look for special deals to stay at this historic gem. Valet parking only and its pretty expensive.
The most amazing hotel on earth it should have 10 stars!!! The staff treats you like your supposed to be treated even during this pandemic the Langham treats you like a human with love and compassion. We are so blessed to be able to enjoy this little bit of heaven here on earth.
Beautiful hotel and common areas with great service. I was there for an event with over 700 guests and the overall food wasnt that great and the only had 1 restaurant open that wasnt adequately staffed. Also, the hotel is very traditional so if you prefer more modern, updated spaces and rooms, this is definitely more on the classic/traditional side.
Stunning hotel located in a secluded residential area of Pasadena. The hotel exudes elegance with stately rooms and furnishings. The fitness center adjacent to the hotel has top-of-the-line equipment. The quality of the Royce restaurant is excellent. The only knock is the lack of selection and variety.
This hotel is beautiful and incredibly well run! While attending a conference at the event Ive truly explored the whole property and in every interaction Ive had with staff and the conference spaces Ive had nothing but outstanding service and quality. The dining options are plentiful and the waitstaff is very knowledgeable should you have dietary restrictions. I highly recommend the Terrace Restaurant for their Crispy Brussel Sprouts and Popcorn Chicken. The hotel accommodations are excellent as well, my room had lots nice touches such as a fully stocked mini bar, a wine service set, and a Nespresso coffee maker. The bed was super comfortable.
What a place! The most classic hotel I have ever been in. The service is unbelievably good, building’s architecture itself is very classic. The view from the restaurant (Tap Room) is heavenly. Each deluxe room has it’s own backyard and WiFi. Food is very good and reasonably priced.
This place is so beautiful. Its a hotel located in Pasadena, within the hotel theres a bar which has life jazz music on Thursdays. I was there to visit the bar which is called the Tap Room. To get to the bar you have to walk through the hotel, which is really a treat the grand entrance is decorated by beautiful chandeliers and a big table with a beautiful flower arrangement. The bar is pricey, you can only valet which isnt bad because the hotel validates and you only pay 6.00 for parking. They have a great view its a very classy place but again if youre on a budget not the place for you.

The most luxurious hotel I’ve ever experienced. Their attention to detail was amazing. The historic building is lovingly restored, and the grounds are beautifully planted and maintained. Build time into your stay simply to wander this place. Also, brunch at the Terrace Cafe was delicious.
Nice hotel in a great location. Overall facilities and amenities were great. Staff awesome. We were set in a wing that was under renovation. Smell of drying paint not so fabulous and then with the 100+ weather the ac wasnt able to compensate. Granted minor gripes but when youre attending a wedding at the venue and need to escape to cool down it wasnt so grand. Otherwise stellar hotel and service. Rooms were not in line with resort is all
I stayed two nights at the Langham in December, 2016. The hotel appeared to be booked at capacity, and busy as well hosting holiday parties and events. If you are arriving in the evening, I would call ahead to check if there is a large event being held. I arrived on a Sunday, and getting through valet was quite a task due to the large number of people attending night time events, but not necessarily staying at the hotel. If I knew how busy it would be, I would have arrived an hour or so before the events started.Although the hotel was quite busy the first evening, the environment was still lovely. Check in staff were friendly, professional, and quite helpful. My room was rather large, an unexpected surprise! As I visited other rooms, it appears all rooms are quite spacious and well appointed. It was, by far, one of the best rooms I have ever stayed in. Quite a cozy bed, too!The rooms used for our meetings were attractive as well. Food served through catering was good, with nice presentation and very friendly wait staff. The grounds are rather large, with plenty to do and see. We took daily walks through the grounds and surrounding neighborhood. The only down side is that the hotel is neatly tucked within a neighborhood. If you are looking to venture off property to eat, you must take a car. There are, however, several options within the property to have a meal or light fare.If you are looking for a beautiful hotel, this is your place!Room Tip: The facility is quite spread out. Check out a map before you request your room.See more room tips
Stayed here with my wife a year ago. Im compelled to write a review because for the past 1 year I have held every other breakfast to the gold standard of the breakfast we had at this hotel. Every fruit piece was ripe and perfect tasting. The eggs were cooked to perfection by a skilled chef. Little bottles of maple syrup (a few found their way back to my home and a perfect for rare use of syrup). Absolutely the best buffet breakfast I have ever had.
I visited the Langham to have drinks at the Tap Room. The experience was very nice. When you drive up to the valet they make you feel special and welcome. The tap room is connected to a large outdoor terrace with couches and chairs along with a great service level. The views and drinks are wonderful. A great place to spend time with someone special in the afternoon or night. The view is spectacular.
Beautiful grounds, traditional but warm decor, very quiet in the cottage, amenities were nice, loved the room and the fireplace. Our only complaint was the extra daily charge for parking ($29). We would have preferred to park our own car (we do not like valet service) as it would have been more convenient for moving luggage to our room and we had to come and go a lot. Nowhere did we find a parking charge noted on the initial booking room price and this is not a hotel where someone would be a walk-in. Suggestion: simply include the price of parking in the cost of the room as most people do not like to be nickel and dimed and, as much as we love(d) the hotel, that last minute parking add-on left a bit of a bad taste in our mouths..... Quiet, Room was lovely, Excellent location
Beautiful interior and grounds. The open areas are great for walks and during summer they have some corn hole available along the grass. The bar is a work of beauty and has some excellent drinks. The valet service is excellent in handling large crowds and appear to be well trained. The concierge is knowledgeable of the local area, though naturally will push their own restaurants or affiliates first. The rooms are comfortably exquisite to stay in. Walkability is low though as the hotel is surrounded by beautifully maintained residential neighborhoods. Most commercial and retail are at least 1 mile out. I recommend travelers have a car or plan to get ferried around.
Hotel is located in a scenic location. Rooms were spacious and service was good. There one or two restaurants within the hotel to eat. There are three beautiful gardens where you can sit and relax. There is a pool and jacuzzi within the hotel. Few rooms have patio attached to them and there many cottages that can be rented. Very good place to stay for vacation or any other kind of trips. There many great food places near the hotel that must be explored.
Magical, wonderful, historic hotel. Free shuttle to nearby venues. We did the free tour of the grounds, which was very interesting. The staff is exceptional. The room was roomy and clean. Coffee in room and at location out front of hotel is complimentary. The restraurant and bar have exceptional views.
The hotel is beautiful and located in the middle of a residential area. The new flat-screen wall TV should have been a lot larger for the size of the room. Driving around and seeing some of the most beautiful houses is quite something. All the staff was very attentive and helpful and even the guests were friendly. I spent most of the week end at the pool where the service was superb.
This is a mixed review with a negative outcome because we expected a lot more given the type of luxury hotel that Langham brands itself as, and the importance we place on hospitality.First off I will say that the grounds are beautiful and theres a lot to do such as tennis, a game area (ping pong, air hockey, etc.), and an award-winning spa. They also really speak to the pocket dog crowd - if you love to pamper your dog with spa treatments and a special dog food menu, this is perfect for you.Like I mentioned above, Langham brands itself as a luxury hotel and people with quite a bit of extra income choose to stay there, and locals visit and spend the day there. So thats why my husband and I were so put off by how poorly we were treated by most of the staff, either intentionally or unintentionally. They were (and apparently often are) extremely busy because they have a huge property that hosts multiple weddings, bridal showers, conferences, etc. The weekend we arrived there were 3 weddings, a baby shower, business meetings, a quinceanera and a sweet 16 stuffed into just 2 days! So if youre always so busy, hiring the right amount of staff is probably the most important next step. The valet were some of the friendliest, most helpful staff but so impacted by the constant traffic that we stood in a valet line (no self-park options) for 5 minutes each time we arrived and departed. The front desk gave us an upgrade to a patio King room across the pool (very loud and lots of kids so I actually wouldnt recommend if youre looking for quiet and privacy, but its good for families and dogs who like patios). Unfortunately, we had to call and get them to move us because there was a kid that had a tantrum for an hour straight and because of our adjoining doors, it sounded like he was IN THE ROOM with us. Be warned: these are very thin walls. Our dog couldnt rest and kept barking, and they had the nerve to call and complain about him barking as a result of their kid screaming and crying. So that was fun. In the end, we were moved to a room with two queen beds, when we initially had a King room before they upgraded us - so we werent ecstatic about how that turned out.We tried calling the valet desk, help desk/concierge, and front desk CONSTANTLY over the stay and the phone just. kept. ringing. They never picked up and when I left a message, they didnt call back. We couldnt get any assistance or any questions answered and their reasoning every time was that they were so busy. Finally, restaurants... The food we ordered from both the late-night bar and the Terrace restaurant was pretty good but over-priced. However, we expected this and cant fault them for that since its a pricey hotel. Even when not crazy busy and packed, we were forgotten about by our server and on separate occasions had to get up and go track someone down for the check. When we went to the late-night bar, we ordered a few small bites and had a nearly full plate taken away when the server came to ask us if he can clear the EMPTY plates. Next thing I know, I dont see the full plate that we paid way too much for. The waitress sent the manager over and she was defensive and tried to argue with us, asking why we didnt stop him from taking the plate away. I didnt realize I had to keep watch over everything while trying to have a nice time and conversation with my husband. Finally, they offered to bring out a new plate for us to-go.The final day we checked out early and tried to call valet to come to help us pull a dog and three large, heavy pieces of luggage but of course, no one picked up. We had to make several trips across an expansive hotel just to check out and load up the car. It sucked. Its a convenient stay in Pasadena, a place I love to go out in and explore, but we just wont be coming back to this hotel because we can get a far better experience at a different one.
This is definitely one of the nicest hotels in the area. They offer fresh water with sliced fruit in it as soon as you pull up to valet. Everything is kept extremely clean and the atmosphere is great. You definitely get what you pay for with this hotel it might not be in everybodys budget but it is worth staying at least one night and enjoying some luxury
Very beautiful place. It is around a residential area but you shouldnt have trouble spotting the open entrance while driving by. I was not a guest here but ate at the Terrace restaurant. I didnt know where to go initially but the staff are all friendly and helpful. The food is good and there are enough options that everyone could get something they like without an overwhelming menu. The plates are expensive so youre paying for quality ingredients and good service. Overall the beauty of the place is the most notable feature.
The Langham provided a great experience. Starting with the valets that helps to park our car. They had excellent attitudes and were expedient in helping us unload and head to our event. The decorations and architecture were very lovely. The venue was well done and prepped for my friends wedding. The food was also amazing.
I really expected more. Perhaps they were too busy with a couple of large parties for tea. Our server was nice, but we had to ask for things that should have been a given. Tongs for sugar cubes, clotted cream for scones...there was a severely chipped creamer as well. The food quality was not what I had been expecting for the price. Beautiful grounds though.
Beautiful property and excellent service. This hotel meets 5 star standards. Our stay got off to a rocky start, but our issues with a smoke laced room were quickly resolved. Kelly personally assisted us with relocating to another room. She also gave us free passes to a wine tasting event. We are American Express Platinum Business travelers. We appreciated the Langham’s willingness to honor our late check out request. Daviu and Justin provided excellent bellhop services. Both were very helpful and hospitable. This property has lots of character and offers beautiful views.K. Allison
This is an UNBELIEVABLY nice hotel! Especially for the price! The staff was great -- like Ritz Carlton level of service! I was really impressed. The grounds are stunning, the restaurants are delicious, and the pool area is extremely relaxing and convenient. I would stay here again in a heartbeat!Unlike most areas in the LA area, Pasadena and the immediate area around the hotel is quaint, safe, and clean. Lots of food options and stores to go into. You CANNOT beat this hotel for the price and location. Absolutely perfect experience.
My time at The Langham Huntington Hotel was short but nice. I went there for a wedding and wasnt able to get the full experience but did manage to get a feel for the place. All the staff members I encountered were very courteous and professional. The food I had was excellent. In case your curious it was a beef filet with a purple potato salad. The interior definitely has a higher class feel to it compared to normal hotels. Lastly, the grounds in the back were very nice and well maintained. If your thinking of hosting and event in the Pasadena area Id recommend checking this place out.
Really like this place. Been coming here since 1997 for drinks, dinner, parties, and the occasional stay. While its not the Ritz anymore, I keep coming back. The front desk staff arent as cool as they were two decades ago, they are still professional and welcoming. The service staff at the restaurants and bar are phenomenal.
Location is nice and quiet with great hotel staff members. There is a round circle which makes it easy for drivers to pick me up at night. Nice interior decorations during Christmas time and concierge knows where all of the different locations are. Hotel runs 24/7 and I never had an issue getting around inside.
I’m fairly disappointed at this place. We came on Sunday lunch time. There was a long line waiting to get in brunch Buffet which we were not interested in. We still had to wait for about 20 minutes. The outdoor seating area was really nice. I used to love this place. However our experience was...MEH. Thumbs down. First off, the menu was not the same as what they post online. Not only there was NO vegan options, but also the staff was not very informative about vegan at all. I mean a specific Hispanic guy who was our server who seemed always in rush and impatient. When I told him that we are vegan. His nonverbal body language was like “what do you want?” Not even try to tell us what accommodations they could make for those dishes on the menu. That was really “helpful.” So we had to figure things out on our own. Big thanks. And the potato hashes was mostly just roasted potatoes. When we ordered California toast without two eggs, they don’t even try to sub anything else. Even two slices of toasts would be appreciated. But NOPE! So arrogant business model. Sorry I don’t think I’ll bring anyone here anymore.Tip: valet is $8 dollars now with receipt at the restaurant. Without it is $16.
Beautiful hotel. Service has been great. As expected, room service is pricey. They do offer free shuttle service on a first come first served basis to any place within 3 miles of the hotel - a very nice amenity. Look for deals on travelzoo or other sites before booking.
I came here for Afternoon Tea in the Lobby Lounge. This was by far the best tea experience Ive had. Everything was perfect! The staff was very attentive and friendly. The sandwiches, scones, and many others sweets were all so tasty. The tea was excellent. My favorite was the Silk Road. If you are looking for a wonderful and relaxing tea spot, I highly recommend this place.
I love the Huntington hotel. I have been to weddings, parties and stayed in the hotel. Today I was somewhat disappointed with the tap room. Our server was great but he went on break and it was almost like we were forgotten until we went and got someone to refill our drinks. The food has went down lately. The tacos were not good at all and the dessert was AWFUL we ordered eclairs and the chocolate topping was amazing but the pastry it self was terrible and stale. Honestly this was the worst thing I have ever had at the hotel. Slightly disappointed.I hope this was just a bad day.
Not only one of the most beautiful hotels I have ever seen, but by far the best service Ive ever experienced. Celia emailed me shortly after I made the reservation to offer help with anything we might need. She provided transportation tips and other information to help us enjoy the concert we were planning to attend. Shortly after arrival, we were sent a welcome gift of handmade chocolates, fruit, and fresh flowers. Everyone was attentive and friendly, and went the extra mile to make sure we were comfortable. I cant wait to go back!
(Edited, and muted, per the below acknowledgment from ownership that they are correcting the following) The Terrace restaurant needs a lot of work. Stay away from potato hash for breakfast. You expect the high prices per the hotels 4-star rating, even the $7 tag on a cup of coffee, but they cant move fast enough to improve the whole dining experience.
The fact that they charge $14 to park your car for a very short time is ridiculous. When hotels nickel and dime guests, it tells you that they really dont care about customer service or giving the customer a great experience. This hotel is nice but its very stuffy in terms of attitude and the belief that they are providing an exclusive experience and high level of service. They still havent figured out what great customer service really is.
We went to this beautiful hotel for a staycation--our 17th wedding anniversary. We were immediately greeted with a free upgrade to our room, champagne, chocolate-covered strawberries and rose petals on the bed. The room was great and so were the grounds. Just beautiful, really. Its like stepping back in time. The service throughout the hotel was impeccable. Everyone was attentive and friendly. Its clear theres a mandate there to treat every customer like a king. You can just feel it. We will definitely be back!
Its located in what seems like the middle of a very nice residential neighborhood. The valet was very nice and polite and quick. We had to valet because parking was very scarce. The outside of the building was absolutely beautiful. It totally fits in the neighborhood. The rooms are very luxurious and the place is very clean.
Beautiful hotel. My company had an event here and the staff was so helpful. The grounds are amazing and so much fun to walk around. We ate at the restaurant after and the food was fantastic. This would be a great place to stay if you are in the Pasadena or Downtown Los Angeles area!
Not sure why this hotel has 5 stars. I stayed here as part of a bridal party this weekend and the service was not great. The attendeeswere not consistently nice and, at times, gave attitude. It costs way too much to stay at this hotel to encounter bad customer service. Furthermore, $30 overnight parking is absolutely ridiculous! I know this is a place of business and thats their prerogative, but seriously!? Id rather stay at the Marriott; better customer service.
This place is BEAUTIFUL! i feel like i just walked in a mansion. i was here for my cousins baby baptismal event. I just wish we could have stayed longer. This place is amazing. The food is great and the service is top notch. we were able to walk around by the garden fountain and take pictures, expect to have a fee for the parking though.
I have stayed at other hotels for work in the LA area, but this is now my favorite. It is very elegant and posh, but still feels welcoming. The staff is great and the rooms are very nicely setup. The view from my room was great and the small patio area was a nice option you dont get at other hotels. Would definitely stay again whether for work or pleasure.
This is a gorgeous historic hotel in a seemingly residential Pasadena neighborhood with well-cared for grounds and a beautiful Japanese garden. Thoughtful touches like ornate pens and chocolates at turndown hint at luxury but rooms feel like they need updating-my room did not have bedside plugs for my electronics and I had to take the Nespresso machine out of a drawer and set it up myself. Drip coffee and tea in one of the restaurants seemed pricey at $8. Otherwise a lovely stay.
Old facilities needing repair. Cheap on services (they give you plastic coffee capsules!). No drinking water in the room. Shocking for $370 a night! Double charged on my mini bar a day after my check out. This is a very poorly managed hotel. Very sad that a Grand hotel has come to this. Stay away.
This historical and high scale hotel is located in the quiet, green area in Pasadena. It is excluded and hidden in the beautiful, tree surrounded woods and make you feel like that you entered a 1930s mansion from a Hollywood movie, maybe from Some Where in Time ...It is certainly magnificent, romantic, classic, spacious and historical! On the holiday season, it has beautiful Christmas trees inside and outside of the building and the big courtyard in the middle with water fountain and trees, it is certainly a retreat that you have been dreaming about for a weekend get away!
We have stayed at the Langham over 10 times in the past 10 years. It is always excellent. The refurbishments are top class, the service has always been top class. Be careful the room you get if its busy, there certainly are better rooms for the same price so always ask for an upgrade if you are not happy, eg. by the pool in summer! We get very conflicting rates depending on the deals at the time, some times of year are a fantastic deal , other times we stay elsewhere (we have family in Pasadena we visit regularly) no complaints at all, a great place, just be careful when you stay if you have the option of changes dates!
All inclusive resort just outside of the bustling and beautiful Los Angeles. The professional staff at this hotel is by far one of the best features of your stay at the Langham; while they tend to your every request, they also anticipate every need, including a cart of free ice cream as soon as you walk in to the lobby. The beautiful scenery coupled with the majestic views of the mountains really accentuates the comfort of your room. Highly recommend.
Love the pool. Service can be hit and miss (at the pool) but usually the pool and relaxing environment makes it easy not to make a big deal out of it.I almost forgot, it seems like they stop serving at the pool around 4:30 which sort of sucks. If I was running the place I would not limit sales. ;)
Langham if a beautiful hotel in the middle of a quiet residential community. It would be a beautiful site for a wedding or other special event. Staff is helpful and attentive to guest needs. Management works well to plan event and to have the event run smoothly. It is on the pricey side, so if you are on a tight budget, make sure to ask lots of questions before committing. Rooms are spacious and nice, and the bed and linens are super comfortable! Make sure to check out the Japanese garden!
Hotel is the best in Pasadena hands down, however the actual rooms and hallways could use an update. For a close to 5 star hotel there were rips in the carpeting everywhere and the rooms feel dated and therefore not as fresh and clean as I feel is expected of a Langham. Otherwise, property is beautiful, atmosphere is great, restaurant is good as well.
Hotel staff are very nice. I didnt stay in a room, but I heard theyre relatively spacious and clean. The only problem I had was talking to the guy at the valet checkout. I mentioned the name of one of the events managers and he literally told me that he had no idea who I was talking about and that I either needed to pay for my ticket or go talk to someone inside. I talked to concierge, who also told me that I needed a validation sticker or something to have my parking covered. I just paid with my corporate card instead.
Came for breakfast for an early Mothers Day celebration. The setting was beautiful, and the service was good. A little on the expensive side, but also a very elegant setting. The only thing is recommend is adding more electric vehicle parking spaces in the lot. It sounded like they only had one based on what the valets said. That would have made the experience perfect.
The hotels accommodation is fantastic. The only complaint so far is the rediculous parking valet pricing. Wed have to pay $14 every time we have to leave the hotel. And the $26 every night. I would expect to pay $26 for a day. Bit not every time we leave. But other than that, we love everything about the room. It even have a wine drawer as well! We had the suite, and it even have an extendable couch bed.
Went to Thanksgiving brunch. For over $100 pp, its very overpriced. The only high quality dishes available from the buffet were the Thanksgiving sides and turkey. The breakfast foods, the raw/seafood bar, and especially the desserts were underwhelming. You really need to pound the bottomless champagne to get your moneys worth. The ambiance was last luster as well, with the seating being in a very large yet windowless ballroom.
Yes, it is beautiful and historic, but beware. The priority is given to special events. We chose to have a family oriented Independence day weekend here. Instead, STARTING AT 8:30 PM we were treated to a surprise 600+ person outdoor wedding on the front lawn right outside our suite window!!! One can enjoy and appreciate that many weddings happen here naturally during the DAY. However, club level music blaring at night in the open air for every other guest to endure vs a ballroom? Thats not what this brand used to represent. Choose carefully.
Difficult to navigate hotel grounds. To get to play activities at the front kawn area requires going through their restaurants. Kids friendly but not stroller friendly hotel. Takes a while to figure out where all the ramps are located to get anywhere fun. Lovely garden. Great steak restaurant with cuts from various parts of the country and Australia.
The location of this place makes you forget that you are in a city. The cost/night rivals Vegas. The eateries though are $$$ in price. We found the Tap Room to offer a good variety for usual prices.Valet was $29/day. The bed was comfortable. The robes were solid, but scratchy. The toilet paper is standard hotel brand - which is SUPER disappointing given the cost/night. The toiletry amenity gift was FABULOUS! its like they knew I was coming... or they took a trip to Japan and took a hint.
Great atmosphere and amenities including the spa which was great. Housekeeping is an issue. Walking through the halls, there was used plates from room service which stayed out all day long. I believe there are suppose to be room cleaning twice a day but we only had one. Parking is also very expensive! $29 overnight
Ate at The Terrace Restaurant with a large group of family. Service was attentive to each member of the group. Food was excellent. Ambiance was pleasant with just the right amount of background noise but still quiet. Will return for more special events in the future.
My first experience at a 5 star hotel besides the amazing smelling lobby the rooms are not impressive. I have stayed in 2 and 3 star hotels in other states and they were just as nice. I expected more from a 5 star hotel and had no idea I would be charged 30 dollars a day fo mandatory valet.
This is an awesome experience!! The Langham used to be a Ritz Carlton and now it is one of the most beautiful and best kept secrets in Pasadena. From the gorgeous grounds, upscale and delicious restaurants and live jazz, you cant go wrong and this is a must visit place!!
Five star is the only possible rating. The hotel has 100 year old charm and modern services. Staff attention to detais is amazing. We have a corner room upgrade, it pays to book with signature! There is a small and excellent japanese garden. We ate in the terrace restaurant, a little pricey but very good.
Calls to guest services are answered promptly with my requests appearing at my door within minutes. We took a Lania room overlooking the pool which had a balcony and is recommended if you want to really relax. Numerous newspapers to chose from each morning, pampering turn down service. Certainly worth every penny.
Not a bargain, but if you want a splurge, this place is awesome... access to the club lounge is a must. Also a splurge at $150 on top to book the club rooms, but you never need to leave for scheduled meals, snacks or desserts. It’s insanely tasty food hosted by the most gracious staff. Don’t miss “Milk Tea” or the awesome chantilly cream and scones. I sure didn’t!
Was here for a friends wedding, and this was not the first time (I have been to weddings here previously). The Langham is a consistently high class place with great service and great ambiance and facilities. I enjoy coming here to invited events. The only thing: I do tend to leave events with enough alcohol, but not enough food. But maybe thats just weddings?
We spent a delightful 4 nights and 5 days at the Langham Huntington Hotel in Pasadena for a family birthday celebration. Our room had a private patio and was very large. Staff was helpful and the shuttle shuttle service they offer took us to and from dinner off site twice. We also had a wonderful dinner in the steak house on site. Breakfast each morning was also good on site and they accommodated children very well. The childrens book room in the lobby was delightful. We toured several museums in LA and the CUBE childrens discovery museum is also an easy trip with children. We will definitely return and highly recommend this as a wonderful get away spot that is conveniently located near LA and has beautiful grounds and services.
The food and service at the Langham are wonderful. I do love their Sunday buffet. It was unfortunate that we had our company holiday party there and they were not able to seat us until 45 minutes past our reservation time. They apparently had only 1 table that could seat 7 people and could not figure out alternatives.
An amazing place, hidden in a housing community in the San Gabriel Valley. If you were just driving by you could almost miss the place completely. Its so out-of-place its awesome! The location is beautiful and quiet, though traffic goes up and down the street in a constant stream, but youll be tucked in and away from the fuss you wont even notice the car has been invented! Beautiful grounds and excellent service.
Service was excellent with only one exception. Young Hostess at breakfast threw a little attitude about not having a reservation...as if we should have known better. Over half the tables were empty, but quoted 25-30 minutes. An hour later we got a text saying our table was almost ready. Unfortunate that was our last experience before checking out.
A unique spot, located in residential Pasadena. Steeped in history, its a great place to stay. The bar area is nice and fresh. Great service, drinks, & wine. On the weekends they sometimes have a band. Theres also a great outdoor patio thats nice to enjoy. Only downside, you cant really walk out to anywhere from the Langham. It really is in the middle of a very exclusive residential area so its quiet and peaceful. Want to know what it feels like to live in a $5M neighbourhood? Stay here for few nights and youll get the idea.
This is probably, hands down, one of the prettiest places to get married in LA. So beautiful. The building has that classical feel from the early 1900s, with the most amazing gardens that are perfect for pictures. Unfortunately, their staff is not up to par with the beauty of the venue. If you are looking for a wedding venue--TURN AROUND AND RUN THE OTHER DIRECTION. They made the process so stressful, and honestly, I wouldnt wish it on my worst enemy. They have gone through so much turnover lately, and that is very unfortunate for them, but over the year we planned our wedding, we dealt with 3 different event coordinators there. Plus now that the wedding is over, we are dealing with a fourth! They DO do room blocks, so if they tell you they dont, push through because they DO (they told us they dont, and that they only do a courtesy rate, but that is a lie and finally we got them to do room blocks but it was the most stressful thing ever, where I had to call like 5 different people at the hotel to deal with it, multiple times). They also took about 8-10 months to give us a sample menu for the rehearsal dinner, so when we wanted to also do a Friday night dinner (rehearsal was on Saturday), we just told them we had to bring in an outside caterer because, at this point, we only had 3 months until the wedding, and we still hadnt gotten a finalized menu for the rehearsal dinner. So there was no way they could get the Friday dinner done in time. Then, they double booked our back-up room (in case of rain). Unfortunately, it did rain. And they told us up to 2 months before our wedding, that we had that backup room. Then 3 days before our wedding, they tell us that room has been booked for 7 months. But at 3 days before the wedding, we didnt have time to figure out another room. They ended up calling the other people, whos event wasnt until the next day, and asked them to set up later. However, because of this, our ceremony was rushed through and we hardly had any time to take pictures there and we ended up missing many pictures. They started taking down the room immediately after the ceremony. Also, they double booked our reception hall--which was NOT a backup room. Anyways, the list goes on and on. After the fact, they are still sending me extra bills, and Im trying to discuss with them that those bills are erroneous, and they wont listen. I finally stuck my mother-in-law on them, and they kept telling her that I was just being an emotional bride. Which is very disrespectful of a venue we spent $70,000 at. Eventually, I had to change my credit card number to stop them from charging it. Seriously this place is not worth your time. Its beautiful, but not worth the stress. RUN!!!!!
We visited for dinner with a party of seven with particular seating needs, but they didnt have a table to accommodate at the time of our reservation, so we waited an additional 15 minutes. That all said, the food was absolutely outstanding. Special compliments to the John Dory, truffle risotto, foie gras, and dessert beignets. Absolutely phenomenal decor.

2022-02-19Super friendly staff. Very welcoming. They were very helpful in changing our room to the one we liked the view better. Properly clean. I do recommend this hotel. If you’re visiting LA and need to go around the city every day, consider renting a car and their valet parking is wonderful and hassle free

2022-06-17Astonishing inn to remain! They have an amazing pool, clean water, extraordinary food, and a chilly brew. I will visit and stay longer since I like the view before the room, which straightforwardly prompts the pool. The rooms are an extraordinary size, and a portion of the perspectives are amazing. You will not be baffled!

2022-05-10We stayed 5 nights? and we have no complaints. The hotel staff were very friendly and accommodating. The rooms were amazing. The breakfast was delicious (the bar with omelettes and Belgian waffles? yes, absolutely!). Even the parking attendants were nice. The hotel is located close to all the places we wanted to visit. Griffith Park is very close... The sunsets are amazing!

2022-02-23We had the perfect stay. Everywhere we walked was a photo op. The bridge for the family wedding photo was on point. We were there for a wedding and it was 5 star stay. Everyone went out of their way to see that we had anything we wanted. The wedding location was beautiful. It is historic and every detail is well appointed. The reception was grand. Great dinner, the desert table was second to none and the band was perfect. They knew how to play while we ate then had the perfect song list for dancing. NO rolling on the river or we are family cheesy tunes. Sign of a great band. Afterwards we had a beautiful spot to catch up before going to our room and sending up for a late night bite with room service. Our room was classically beautiful a tad small but it is a really old hotel. Well be back!

2022-04-20Stylish and refined in its lusciouness… well kept, well manicured with charming gardens, excellent service and services. Spa was fab!And get this, the power went out in the area in the middle of my massage and they calmly and sweetly brought in candles to finish and comped me the massage. And had backup power so we still had basics. Very nice experience that could have been uncomfortable otherwise.

2022-05-10This is a beautiful 5 star hotel and you should consider booking if its your wedding day or etc. I booked the One Bedroom Huntington Suite for my wife and I on our wedding day weekend. I booked it like 5 months ahead so the pricing was way better than when I checked the week of. Its valet parking only so FYI if you plan on having guest over and if youre staying at the hotel, they are already charging you for it but you can go in&out. We were on the 5th floor and we really love our room with the view of the yard where people have weddings. Our booking came with a reward for the in-room dining so we took advantage of that as well. The breakfast was delicious, just be aware that the wait could be an hour if you order during the busy time. The elevator that we took, reminded me of a haunted mansion because its really old and some of the button light doesnt work.

2022-05-06This place is everything a resort should be. Really good food. The staff doesnt hover but seems to be there when you need something. The grounds are exceptional. The spa, and the gym are 1st rate. Worth the money

2022-05-28It was a wonderful stay until the experience to request the invoice ruins it. I was there for work and from day 1 I requested the invoice of my room and tax which I think is very basic. The hotel keeps asking me to request from Booking.com and Booking.com keeps asking to do the other way around. Nearly one month passed I still didn’t receive the thing I need ie a soft copy of my invoice which I need to expense. Most of other hotels I booked the same way have no such issues

2021-12-29Beautiful grounds. The main building was beautiful. Unfortunately we were in room1541 which is a separate cottage room. Although this is definitely a 5 star hotel, we were not in a 5 star room. The furnishings looked worn, the carpet was very dirty at the entrance to the room. We had to call 2x for someone to reset the heat that had stopped working on cold days. I must say that upon checkout they apologized for our inconvenience and comped our breakfast. Hopefully they will bring that room up to standards.
