Excellent rooms we had 1 bedroom suite with King size bed. My only issue wasBreakfast and restaurant for dinner very limited. There are also limited open options around the hotel so they really should expand the restaurant service and hours given the limitations of optionsIn the neighborhood.
Secured a company meeting here for two days and was extremely pleased with the professionalism and courtesy by every member of the staff. From front desk to restaurant staff, from conference room to housekeeping. Thank you for making this a smooth event to plan virtually!
Hotel staff was rude and incompetent. They told me I had a $20 breakfast voucher, the next morning I asked where I can redeem it, the front desk said they don’t offer breakfast only to find out that coffee shop is where I could use the voucher (coffee shop had already closed). Ordered $60 worth of UberEatz, came down and the lady told me there wasn’t any food deliveries lately. I called UberEatz and they showed me a pic of the food literally sitting at the front desk counter. Had to walk back down to show her the picture and apparently her manager came to defend her saying “even if she did see it, we’re not responsible for your food being delivered to you. Perhaps call them for a refund?” Completely inappropriate for a $400 a night hotel…I mean at this point, hostel or inn.
Positive: great decor, comfortable beds ,and very accommodating staff. Easy location to get Ubers and LYFT, great bodega across the street. Great coffee shop on bottom floor. Big room very comfortable for 2 people and luggage. Negative: the water pressure in showers could have been better
I am a platinum member and decided to stay here during our San Francisco trip. We checked in and valet is small and there were cars parked on street and not that safe. The check in was pretty easy. The rooms are comfortable but not that big. We had drinks outside by the fireplaces and that was a good vibe. Parking was $75 per night WOW. We were really not treated like platinum members.
Rooms were so spacey! Lobby decor was adorable loved the coffee shop and bar, little pricey beverages but for reason. Location was great. Was able to walk the whole city. A cute breakfast spot a few steps outside of hotel, and a convenient store across the way.loved this hotel, looking forward to staying again.
Our fight arrived a few hours before our check-in time, so we decided to just drop off our bags and come back later to check in. Alex at the front desk greeted us with a warm welcome and said we could just go ahead and check in now since our room was ready. We found the entire staff to be this helpful and welcoming, and it made our stay even more enjoyable. As for the hotel itself, we found it to be very clean, with quiet, nicely sized rooms and a great shower. We couldnt have been any happier with our stay.We have a favorite hotel in every city we visit, and The Clancy is now our preferred hotel whenever were in San Francisco.
Stayed here while we had tickets to the Giants game. Its an easy walk down 2nd street to the park. Hotel is very new so as you can expect its very clean and modern. For basically in the heart of downtown SF the prices were very reasonable as well. The staff were excellent and made sure we had what we needed. The only real ding here is that while they do have valet its not the greatest experience there is. But overall still a great hotel and whenever I go to a Giants game this will surely be my first pick no doubt.
I stayed here when it was a Courtyard by Marriott many years ago and it is now a nicely updated hotel. Good location and friendly staff. The room is spacious and the higher-floored (northwest-facing) ones get a great view of the city. The one complaint I have is that its bathroom lacks ventilation and tends to trap smell and moisture. The fitness center on the second floor is roomy and I was the only one using it. Adding a few pictures of the fitness center because there weren’t clear photos of it on Google Maps or other hotel booking sites—for those who like to maintain their workout routines while traveling.
It was a disappointment as it did not meet our expectations in service.- Paying extra 15$/day for Wifi in the rooms is no longer acceptable and unusal.- The desk was unwilling to give us a second blanket saying we dont have that much blankets which is ridiculus.- The room was noisy as the window did not shut properly so we got all the street noise 1:1.- even though we gave the full business address in the booking process the receipt was done on my name only and the desk was unwilling to change that thats complicated.- We had a water outage (first no water of all, later the hot water stopped again) for one day without being warned or somehow informed. We would accept this in a second world country but not in San Francisco. The Location in the 2nd street gets unfriendly during night and is (maybe like whole SF) full with homeless people making walking a dangerous trip. A local caled it the zombie walk which is sadly enough a good description. This does not fit to a hotel for such a price.
Very nice hotel in a decent location. There is a restaurant and bar inside and light breakfast available in the mornings (breakfast sandwhiches, pastries, fruit, oatmeal, etc). Gym is decent, was quite busy in morning when I went (people on every machine). Has valet parking outside and plenty of restaurants in walking distance. Great view from window in upper floors. Lobby has lots of nice lounge area to meet with people and relax. Will stay again.
Great place to stay for a long weekend. The hotel room was well appointed. Great seating area. The bathroom was lovely with a great shower. The staff at the front desk was very friendly and always helpful. Loved the location for baseball and a concert at the Chase Center.
Stayed here recently for my Girlfriend’s birthday. The staff was incredible! Friendly and accommodating. They went above and beyond helping me arrange for having flowers, balloons, and decor in the room upon our arrival. They even made sure we had a high floor room with a great city view. I’d give them 10 stars if I could.
The hotel is new, rooms are great. I came from Phoenix to spend the fall break with the kids. Location is close to most of the locations we visited. Parking is really expensive, $85 per night(included the tax). The only thing I dont like that my son ( 10 years old) saw the juice container and he took half a cup, then the waitress asked him about the room number, I went and talked to him if I need to pay for that half cup of juice, he said yes then he charged me $6!!As a Marriot member, and spent more than $$5000 this year in Marriott hotels, I felt at least the waitress should ask the son for his parents permission or explain to him this will be charged on the room.
Amazing size rooms and located in a fairly nice area, 10 min walk to market street. Staff generally nice although not sure about the bell desk, they didn’t try to help with luggage. The hotel has an old fashion approach to free WiFi, a complicated process of becoming a member by signing up online, then getting a code to add to your room, etc…. Very annoying.
This is a very nice hotel in San Francisco, its a great location in SOMA thats close to the ball park, the ferry building, and a lot of things to do. The rooms are spacious and have a very comfortable bed.My only complaint and the reason for the deduction was that we booked a City King - High floor room with city view. The direction of the room faced out towards the bay (both sides of the building look towards parts of the city but this was definitely the bay side of the building) and we didnt have any sort of city view as we werent high enough. If we booked a standard king room, I wouldnt have any issues. But there was absolutely no point in booking a higher tier room if this is what we would get. Sure city view could mean look at an adjacent building, but I cant say Ive had a similar experience in many other large cities. There were quite a few floors above us as well, I would have assumed wed be on the top 33% of floors with that description.
Well, this place is a bit of a s**t show from a communication standpoint. I travel to SF every three weeks and have stayed at this hotel four times now. Only 1 of the 4 rooms has been acceptable. My Marriot Ambassador hubby and I have stayed in Autograph hotels all over the world. This location falls significantly short. I reserved a room (king, high floor). I ended up with a shared queen bedroom next to the elevator on the side of the hotel with a busy street and road noise. What? I called a week ago to ask for a particular, no notes in the system. I called today only to be placed in this space. Really Marriot? Dont charge Autograph prices for Courtyard Service.
The location was great and the renovated lobby and amenities were nice too. The room had nice decor, but seemed a little “Vegas-y”.I would’ve given at least 4 stars if it weren’t for the abrasive front desk staff. They were not very friendly at check-in. Another time I had a question and the gentleman at the desk seemed uninterested in helping and almost made me feel like I was disrupting him to ask a question. Not a fan of the staff, but the hotel is nicely remodeled.
We recently spent 3 days at this hotel and were completely satisfied. It is located in a convenient location to all the SF attractions. The room was comfortable and spacious. However, the most impressive part of our stay were Curt, Fortunato, and Daniel, the three bar tenders. They were great! Thanks guys for helping to make our first trip to the city a memorable one.
Recently in SF for business, and the stay at The Clancy was beyond wonderful! Extremely courteous & helpful staff during my 3 day stay was outstanding. The room was spacious, yes even for SF! Their cafe provided tasty treats and coffee selections in the morning - such wonderful service! Definitely will be back - thank you!
A nice modern design and feel. The rooms are a little dark, but thats the charm of this hotel. Very reminiscent of a W or SLS Hotel. Management could easily rebrand this hotel as such and no one would know the difference in the aesthetics. The bathroom is very large and spacious (closets and countertop space is a little tight though). The desk and coffee area is high end, yet comfortable. Bedding and linens are beautiful and comfortable. Looking forward to spending the week at this hotel.
Hotel valet was non existent when we pulled up, unloaded our own bags and made our way in with two small children. For 80 dollars per day, that is not even close to how things should start. Front counter checkin was easy, friendly folks... Lobby is weird, I did not find it hit the mark, almost like a low grade art gallery. One of the elevators was broken out of 4, just dark, yellow sign that said out of service.Room was nice, well designed, clean. Pull out couch had a broken mattress that totally collapsed when the kids made their bed for the night. Roll away was brought up after calling front desk.Stayed one night. Coffee bar had a long line, by 0830 they were out of most pastries so I took the last croissant. Terrible, stale, likely frozen and thawed out. Paid 44 dollars for 2 coffee drinks, fruit cup and couple of pastries.... All in all, staff was nice but would not return for reasons above. Bar by the way.... People commenting that its a nice bar? Far from it... Very underwhelming. My home bar has more bottles and looks nicer... Just dont expect a cool bar thats all!
Beautiful and modern decor. Very comfortable and clean accommodations. No excessive noises, especially during the week. Security and luggage helpers always available.Cleaning staff is the best of all. Very polite and cordial. Tip worthy!Radiator Cafe is a bit pricey but very convenient. Wished they opened at 6am and not 7am. Fyi croissants rarely on time.Hotel is a good value but their security deposit regulations is confusing and too much. I ended up with 2 holds on my card amounting to $687.00 each for a 3 night stay. Little to no assistance when i decided to extend a fourth night.Nothing fab about the gym, functional. No pool but beautiful courtyard for gathering and relaxing.
The clancy, what can i say, its a lovely hotel with a really nice outdoor patio, the rooms are really nice, in my case i was up in the 15th floor with a city view the is phenomenal. the room has bed, tv, a safe, small fridge.the only thing id suggest they add is a microwave.
This hotel is seriously SO cool. They have awesome staff, and the lobby and rooms here are next level. Only issue is parking, pretty tricky and pricey in the area! Go to the corner liquor shop across the street and try to guess the employees home country, he might just give you a discount if you get it right! But this hotel is in an awesome area, and I really cant get over how cool Marriott Autograph collection hotel are.
This is one of the best kept secrets of the area. Ill be staying here for business and personal travel in the future. The one thing that I will put is a partial negative is that the lobby is always busy and bustling with activity so if youre looking for something a little bit more on the quiet side, you may want to reconsider this one. However if you like to have a little life in the lobby, there is a coffee shop, a bar, and an outdoor seating area with fireplaces.
For a luxury experience, it sure didnt feel like it. The king room had a plastic bag wrapped around the fire alarm like someone was smoking in there? There was also a small stain on the bed sheet. Idk, staying at a normal Marriott probably would have been a better experience. Would not recommend at this price. (Which does have quite a few hidden fees)
Positive: The rooms were stylish and very functional. Views were decent too. Negative: After one meal, we avoided the onsight restaurant due to the low mediocre quality of the food and food prep. The restaurant is clearly not a priority for the Clancy. Also, we were close to the business district so it was like a ghost town after 5pm.
I felt first class here 😎 My favorite part would have to be the breakfast pastries BUT you need to show up early because they sell out quick. The coffee is also awesome. One night, I bought a barrel-aged stout from the liquor store across the store to enjoy in the lobby while si worked on my laptop AND the bar-tender brought me a frosted glass and said “That beer is much better with a frosted glass.” Haha, it was awesome. Their customer service, obviously, is awesome and the rooms and lounging areas and super comfortable and well designed. Stay here!!
The stay was ok only because there was a bed and four walls. The ONLY saving grace to this hotel is that Marriott has employed a fantastic employee named Leah. Her colleagues on the other hand could not be less interested in the hospitality industry. From incorrect information about the housekeeping procedures at check-in to the most confusing and downright sketchy billing practice of ANY Marriott Property ive ever stayed in. Begging for fresh towels and linens. etc etc. We only finally received some assistance once Leah stepped in after we were fed up and ready to go to another hotel. So much so that I am ready to end my relationship with the Marriott Group Would highly suggest you pay the extra couple of bucks and stay at the JW Marriott.
I stayed here at the end of July 2021 for 3 nights. It was very much a pleasant stay. The rooms were clean, the rooms were turned when we requested it, the valet was prompt and all of the workers were very friendly and helpful.Everytime we pulled up in our car, a valet came to help us very promptly. When leaving, you can text the valet ahead of time and our car was waitin for us. Very convienent.I brought my own hot water heater since I knew ahead of time that there are no coffee makers in the room. I also asked the front desk if they had a microwave for our room which they did and was sent right up. Ice machine is located on the 7th floor. The rooms looked exactly like the pictures. The TVs have a HDMI hookup where you can connect things like a laptop, phone, tablet or game system right to it and play it on the screen. They also have Netflix and Amazon Prime apps built in, you just need to login with your own credentials. My only gripe is that there is really nothing to eat here, but there are plenty of places walking distance.
Worth the stay. The staff were all accommodating. Theres a bar at the lobby and a very spacious outside are where you could hang with friends while socially distanced. It is in the heart of downtown. Almost everything is at a walking distance. Would definitely recommend this place when you come down to SF.
The hotel was very modern and decorated beautifully for the holidays. The staff was very welcoming and made wonderful suggestions. The food at their lobby restaurant was amazing too!Brenda was working the front desk making sure everyone was happy and safe! She provided great customer service and if you ever have any questions or concerns, she’s more than happy to address them. Def coming back.
My husband and I stayed here for our anniversary and it was perfect! The staff were friendly and accommodating. We checked in after a long day of sightseeing and exploring the city. The vibe was beautiful and modern. We had plans to go out for dinner, but opted to try out the hotel restaurant and bar. The food and drinks were AMAZING! The main course menu was a short list so we didn’t know what to expect. We were not disappointed. Excellent quality in presentation and taste! We are definitely planning to come back stay on our next trip to SF.
Our stay was sweet. I loved the interior design of the hotel. The decor was modern and artsy and with so much to catch your eye. I recommend this place to young adults who are traveling to get a feel for San Francisco artsy vibes within the comfort of your stay! The staff was also very respectful.
During my stay at The Clancy hotel I was quite disappointed with how things turned out. Don’t get me wrong I enjoyed my time there but many things such as paying for wifi, having to ask for amenities such as a coffee maker should be given. I was quite impressed with the fitness center which is the only reason I give it a 2/5. There are also many hidden fees which raised my initial total from $390 to $520.
Loved this modern, eclectic hotel in the heart of San Francisco, with super easy access to public transport. The Montgomery Street station is just a few blocks down the street so it’s easy to access the BART to head to SFO airport as well as the Muni metro to numerous places around the city. Additionally, the F Streetcar line as well as a bus stop is right by the BART Station. The staff was super friendly and helpful, check-in was fast, housekeeping was fast and efficient, and the rooms were surprisingly spacious with a nice shower, with comfortable amenities such as a fluffy bathrobe and towels. Id definitely stay again!
The Clancy Autograph Collection sounds perfect in theory. Its in downtown San Francisco, but The Clancy is not a place I would choose to spend my vacation again. I stayed here for 4 days and the air conditioner never worked. I stayed on the 18th floor. Hello, heat rises. The room was unbearable. Even opening the windows could not get that room to a pleasant temperature. It was more refreshing on the street than in my hotel room. I stayed in a double room with my friend and we were cramped. There was one tiny closet in the bathroom for both of us. We had to live out of our luggage. Our room had a large sofa, but the way it was positioned was inaccessible for us to use at the same time. Our mini fridge was lukewarm and had a packet of ranch left by the last guest. The interior design of the lounge area was an eyesore. There was no consistency in style. For a hotel that advertised sophistication, luxury and modernity, it seemed like a college dorm. The staff was inconsistent about their social distance policies. I and many other guests ate freely in the common areas. My final day at the Clancy I was rudely told by a staff member that eating in the common area was not permitted even though I have eaten there my entire 4 day stay with no issues and there were no signs in place to discourage gathering there. Overall my trip to San Francisco was good, but The Clancy did not contribute to that.
Customer service is clearly not their priority. I have had rude/condescending interactions from multiple staff members. It felt like I was back at college dealing with RA’s in the dorms.....It’s not what you say people, it’s how you say it. I’m not your child. I’m a paying guest and you chose to work in hospitality! And let’s not even get started on the decor of the hotel, what an eye sore! The lobby and lounge area looks like a cheap hostel. Their furniture pieces looked either donated or found on the street. The guest rooms are not much better. The use of space is disappointing. It was so cramped! Why is the closet in the bathroom for guests clothes to get mildewed? And there were no other storage areas to store clothes. So we were forced to live out of our suitcases for the duration of our stay. The sink was the size of the sinks in guest rooms on cruises. There was no place to hang the hand towel we used to dry our hands. There was no fan in the bathroom. The room was hot and there’s no real accommodations for that. The bed linen and mattresses are cheap and hard. It’s literally the worst sleep I’ve gotten in my life. It wasn’t at all comfortable. I’ll never return.
Very nice hotel - has the entire mobile check in so we were able to get our room and everything done on the bonvoy app ahead of time. We made it to the hotel and went straight to our room with the mobile key! Very nice amenities and a great location! Clean and well kept!
The hotel environment is good, fancy and clean. One huge negative thing is there is no any info about the parking on the official website, and when we arrived there, the parking became $75 per night, which is much higher than average in SF downtown.I think the hotel is playing game by lower the hotel stay price to attract users to book, and then hide the parking info. And eventually use rising parking fee to make balance of lowering the hotel price.
Hands down the best option south of market. Rooms are comfortable with a unique (is it 80s or 90s style? :) Deducting a star for the poor restaurant food/dinner and charging for wifi. The hotel is overpriced as is -- wifi should, of course, be free regardless of where you book.
Very nice hotel and staff.Rooms are cleaned and very nice lobby and outdoor seating!I had a nice time! The vault was very expensive it was $87 with tax a night!!! The breakfast very limited. For example when I took a few things and I left my wife wanted juice and she took and then he charged me $7!I was very disappointed and upset The employee was very mean and rude and gave us bad looks!I really did not like that!
Very clean rooms. Very clean and modern hotel. Super nice employees! Will be staying here again! Brenda (I believe that was her name) was amazing to us! After having such a horrible week, upon arrival, she made me feel as if it was my lucky day! She let me open the 12th day for the Christmas advent calendar, she picked me to put special treats in both of my rooms, she even upgraded the 2nd room that I had and gave us connecting rooms on the highest floor (amazing view). We had issues with parking, but she told us that if we decided to park on the street, to not go as far as a block away because break-ins have been happening a lot lately; we ended up doing valet which was about $85, but we were able to sleep at night knowing that our car was not going to get broken into. The courtyard was really nice, even during COVID my family was able to go grab dinner and eat it out there safely. The walls arent thin at all, which is amazing.
Positive: The front desk is good about handling the issues I had in my original room Negative: The original room had dog hair, smelly carpet and ants. The second room also wasn¿t that clean, there was hair on the robe. The carpet seemed like it wasn¿t vacuumed. But after the housekeeping comes in the next day, at least it got cleaned up prop
Our stay itself back in AUGUST was fine nothing spectacular. What caused me to give a 1 star rating was the fact that they made an unauthorized charge on my card 2 months after we checked out!!! Ive called MULTIPLE times and keep getting the run around. Terrible business practices and even worse customer service!!!
Jebb, Robert, Alex made my stay fantastic they were very caring and made sure I was happy from the time I booked till the time I checked out.Cleanroom, nice staff great valet parking, the remodel is absolutely gorgeous, this would be my first choice when I visit San Francisco.
Check in was slow the person at the front desk didnt seem to know any answers to my questions. When we got to our room we realized there was only one bed(our reservation was for two beds). We were told that they were out of rooms and that they couldnt do anything about it.
The Clancy Hotel has just opened as of writing this and I am one of the first to stay here. I have lived out of hotels for work for the past few years so I can list a few of the features of this hotel that make it stand out to me.1. Very modern design both in lobby and the rooms. The couches in room are larger than mostly any hotel that Ive been in.2. True Sound-prood windows. I am a light sleeper and these window block the sound even on a busy street.3. Location is good here in the business district. 15ish minute walk to union Square and 5ish to get down to the water on the Bayfront.4. Blackout curtains fully block out light.
Great place to stay in downtown SF. 🤘The room was awesome, the view spectacular, and everything else about the hotel, was nice and inviting. We got to use the photo booth, enjoyed a couple of drinks on the patio where theres a great patio to spend some time with your party.Ill definitely be back, although Ill probably choose to do parking differently as it was $75 just for valet parking.Otherwise, a great stay! 💜👍
The Clancy opened just about a week ago and is a great new option in San Francisco. Formerly the Courtyard San Francisco, the property has been transformed into a very modern and inviting hotel with friendly and accommodating staff. Its worth noting that the hotels location makes it more suitable to business travelers. Most San Francisco tourist attractions are located a fair distance away.

2022-07-11The Clancy is a very modern and a newer hotel, we really enjoyed our stay here. The rooms were spacious and clean but dont expect much of a view. On most sides it just faces buildings so you wont get to see any bay views or much of city views. Were a Marriott member and they usually give some complimentary drinks or breakfast at almost every location, but we didnt get anything here. So nothing special about being a member here. But they do have one of the most comfortable beds and pillows, we slept like babies, and it was really quiet and peaceful. Wed stay here again.

2022-01-18The Clancy quickly became my favorite hotel in San Francisco. Its in a fairly quiet part of Downtown, but just steps away from many of the city biggest businesses. The rooms are very comfortable, recently remodeled and very nicely appointed. Stylish decor and finishes both in the room and bathroom gives you that one of a kind, boutique feel. After three stays over the last year and a half I have to say that the staff is super friendly and responsive to my needs, and goes out of the way to make me feel welcome. I also felt appreciated as an elite Marriott Bonvoy member that I actually got a free breakfast, even though it was a Starbucks style sandwich, coffee and a piece of fruit, but I got it. Most other Marriott properties lately are just giving you a $10 credit which in those hotels that might cover a cup of coffee. This hotel also has relatively good room pricing compared to other area hotels, so its definitely a win-win situation. Good service, good value, a very good experience.

2022-05-29We love this hotel! The location is excellent, beautiful views. Most of all we appreciate the bed. The mattress and topper is perfectly plush, the down comforter, sheets and pillows are so comfortable, we always sleep over 8 hours. We always look forward to staying here.

2022-06-23Clean, safe, business friendly hotel. Stayed here while on a business trip and really enjoyed the stay. It was in a nicer area away from union square but still close walking distance. Very short walk to Moscone center. Bar in lobby was great. Food and drink was good.

2022-05-18The good: big rooms, easy check in and check out. Bathrooms are a good size. Connected TV. Comfortable king sized bed.The bad: front desk doesn’t have a sense of urgency for anything. Food options on site are brutal. Shower controls are super fussy and confusing and water pressure sucks. It’s a budget hotel pretending to be a boutique.

2022-02-21Me and some girlfriends stayed here for a bachelorette weekend trip. The hotel is so nice and comfortable. Staff is very friendly and helpful. I could not have asked for a better experience. Jim, I believe a manager, was especially helpful in helping us celebrate the bride to be. Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area.

2022-04-26The building is really nice. I like the unique room setup and the common areas. However, I paid over $1000 for just two nights, but still - in a modern city - they charge $20 per night for internet. The free speed is slower than what my parents get in middle of no where America. Pretty frustrating. It is 2022, please be reasonable.

2022-05-14The rooms are very new, great size. To get the shower warm isn’t intuitive but it works. However, the front desk staff isn’t nice or welcoming. My husband and I stayed for over a week and barely got a hello.

2022-01-07The bed was comfortable, the suite was cleaned but not 5 stars clean, no body lotions, and no soaps in my room, I asked for some and it took them two days to bring them to my room by then I had already gone to CVS to get the toiletries.Poor customer service from the bellboy who barely acknowledges guests, to not having anyone at their bar/restaurant area. Their lobby looks like the cafeteria of Ikea with a bit of an upgrade, meaning: cheap furniture that from a far it looks like something else, but when you are there in person you realize is not all that, is just appearances. Would I recommend this place? Yes, to solo travelers or young folks, or wedding planners, not necessarily an inviting place for families or business people.Their rooms are definitely overpriced, you would be much better at the Hyatt or the Intercontinental Hotel. It is worth it if you are using your points, otherwise is a waste of money and a bit of a rip off.

2022-05-02Room was large, restaurant in lobby was great. However, room was not very clean. There was even someones new shirt tag stuck on the dresser. They were only able to offer points as compensation, which they then forgot about until I reached out via corporate support.
