Fresh delicious food! The quinoa salad and turkey chili were exceptional! After a disappointing dinner in the main dining room last night - we couldn’t believe how much better the bar food was.It is unfortunate there is very limited seating as the only place left for us to sit was outside the bar in some very comfortable, but low chairs that left our faces near table level.Overall, we would return to the bar in a heartbeat.
As a recap - The Majestic hotel is a 4 star hotel. This bar is no way closer to 1 star! Its EXPENSIVE. The ambiance and the decor are impressive, however, the quality of food and customer service are bellow par. Im very disappointed what happened in last two years with the management change how the overall quality of the experience has gone down. NPS, please evaluate this location, you are no way closer to what other national parks are offering.
Three stars specifically for bartender Gabe, hes the reason to go here and makes whatever you want and makes it well, I had a hot toddy. If hes not around, its probably not worth the trouble. Food was ok, even for bar food, chili was good, salsa was not, sliders were good, but youre paying PER slider - ie prices are too high for this place. Wait is long and host refuses to give you wait time or even seat you at the bar, we had to move ourselves from an obnoxiously large table when we knew other groups were waiting. I honestly wouldnt recommend this unless youre looking for a well made drink in the valley.
The saving grace for this bar was the bartender named Aaron and the friendly (which was a nice contrast to the chilly reception at the front) busboys. The drinks were also decent, but Aaron poured them, so I don’t know if the others are so good. The rest of the staff was curt. The service and food was mediocre. It is still during the pandemic though, so maybe things will get better after...?
This is not a typical hotel bar. No bar to sit at, just tables. Food was good for bar food, but not exceptional, and expensive, as is most of the prepared food in the valley. Ambiance was ok, but nothing like that of the adjoining hotel. Went here to work while staying at one of the park lodges. Cell reception is poor in valley, asked for wifi password so I could work, but was told, despite spending $70 for 2 sandwiches and drinks, that WiFi was only for guests (guess they considered me a transient). Given a one word description, that word would be snooty.
It was a cozy warm place to have a hot drink or any other beverage during a rainy afternoon in yosemite National Park. I felt like home during my visit. The menu for lunch has not plenty of option but the ones in it are really good appetizers like pull pork sandwiches, croissants with chips, soup of the house etc. 4 people around $120.00 bucks check.
The price for food here is unbelievably high. For example, the pizza that I ordered here for $22 (cheese, pepperoni and some tomatoes) can be bought in Trader Joes for just $3. Just because this Bar is in tourist attraction area, doesnt mean you can inflate the price rates that much.
Was okay. Vibe was calm. Food was delicous except my fries were over seasoned. Floor was unexpectably dirty there are flies and squirrels in the bar, its hard to enjoy and relax with squirrels and screaming children. Glass cups and glasses were not cleaned, one smelled like red wine the other was dirty and smelled like a rag. Wait was very long. Overall okay experience.
Ponderosa Punch! Ugh so good, and yet though I know the ingredients I cant quite make it at home. Staff are always very nice (thank you Raechelle (couldnt see nametag clearly, sorry name is misspelled if not completely wrong)), were greeted warmly upon entry. Suppose my favorite bar. Is very clean and relaxing. Though will have to drink/dine outside just now due to COVID. Entrance and outside seating are accessible. Will certainly come back again. Currently have sandwiches and a charcuterie plate, open until 9.
The three star rating is generous and given because the bar is in fact in Yosemite NP. Most annoying part was they couldn’t give me a wifi access code and obviously that’s on management. Veggie chili was eatable altho overpriced, like the beer and the mediocre Pinot noir. It’s basically what you’d expect but not what you’re hoping for.
Not everyone here enjoys loud obnoxious music. Loud music blasted all day. Past the 10 p.m quiet time, some large groups screamed into the night probably drunk. The park should enforce noise ordinance. Its Yosemite, not a rodeo/club/concert. it disturbed multiple lodges with my neighbors in disbelief. I dont know why people go camping to blast their music. The staff, however, was nice.

The bar SEEMED really nice, but we had to wait in line for 40 minutes to finally decide to just get a drink from the bar and drink it outside (which was really nice, despite the frustrating experience that proceeded it). It was Thanksgiving day, so the busiest day of the year for them, but they couldve saved us the frustration by just being upfront with us about the situation, and letting us choose to go outside earlier.

2022-09-14Amazing service! Amazing food! And amazing drinks! We enjoyed it there! I had the turkey chili and my boyfriend had the short ribs. He had some of the local beers and I had the delicious blackberry bourbon smash!

2022-01-18Quick service with fresh food and some nice cocktails. Their menu is limited but the quality makes up for it. Some highlights from the menu: Roasted quinoa bowl, Yosemite sour.

2021-11-02Food: 3/5Service: 3/5Ambiance: 4/5Overall: A cheaper alternative to the dining room. The extended review...Food:Artichoke Salad - 3/5 - I needed a little roughage and this did the trick. I think I was expecting a little bigger of a portion as it left me hungry. The taste was what was expected.Boysenberry Pie - 3/5 - So on the flip side what I found a little odd was that the dining room sold the same pie but the price was cheaper here. A pretty standard fare berry pie.Service: 3/5 - Standard service.Ambiance: 4/5 - I have to say that it was pretty comfy in here and of course its nice to sit down and eat after a long hike.

2021-09-07This place is a disaster. Line out the door only because the Ahwahnee dining room is sold out. Absolutely minimal menu. Seating is minimal. Food is bad other than the giant pretzel. The nicest thing they sell is a prime rib sandwich thats COLD. Literally comes in saran wrap straight out of the fridge like youre buying it at a gas station mini mart. And because seating is minimal, they stuff it any which way in a togo bag. The mustard for our pretzel leaked all over the inside of the bag. Cocktails were OK but dont even think about 2nd rounds because youll have to stand in line again for 20 minutes.

2022-09-09I ordered coffee one afternoon and sat at the lobby, I told my sister to ask for a glass of water with ice. They gave her a glass of water but she said that the lady told her that there is a water in the fountain you can actually get some in there next time. What a service over a glass of water.

2022-08-14Highly recommend checking this place out but you pay for the experience for sure. The food and cocktails are great but definitely can get the same for less $ elsewhere. However, take some time and explore the inside of the hotel for the history. Charcuterie was pretty dang good and generously sized.

2022-09-02Nice place to relax. The appetizers are tasty, the drinks are tastier, and the staff is attentive. The prices are high and, well, pretty much representative of the Ahwanhee overall. Nonetheless, its a place to go if you want to treat yourself.
