Clean rooms, comfy beds, spacious and easy to call the front desk for any problems in the rooms. Great service. Close to a Rite Aid and plenty of walking distance from thai food, Mexican and Italian.

Clean older rooms. Bed was like sleeping on a teeter-totter lol... The AC unit struggled... Took several hours to feel cool enough to comfortably sleep. Customer service at front counter was good. They offer a breakfast with quick basic foods. Decent safe location. Probably stay if we were road tripping thru area again.
Best nights sleep Ive had away from home in a long time. Ive paid a LOT more for a LOT less. This is a wonderful place to stay on every level. Great staff. Great breakfast. Incredibly clean. Very quiet too!
Decent price, rooms were clean and smelled ok (not damp or musty). Air conditioner worked and wasnt rattling. TV worked. Free breakfast is the usual bowl of 3 day old fruit, hard bagles, dried cereal, and you can ask someone to get waffle mix. No issues with check-in or out. Would stay there again.
Travelers beware!!! This place is a dump. The rooms dont look anything like the web site. The carpet in my room was filthy and smelled. The air conditioner looked like it was from the 1960s and was missing its knobs, the air conditioner did not work and when I asked to move to another room I was told they were booked up. They had no problem taking my money right away. The room was over priced and they even tryed to sneak a $30 unauthorized charge on my card. After several attempts to contact the manager and corporate offices I still have not been able to talk to anyone. If this is how they want to conduct there business, they will never get any business from my family and friends again. I hope this warning helps keep some else from making such a costly mistake. I can tell you now there is nothing SUPER about super 8 but there prices
Well your motel definitely needs some updating for the price you charge. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. But the bathroom area and countertops are out of date and falling apart.
The room I stayed in had a king size bed, a mini fridge, a microwave, a TV, and a desk. Soap, shampoo, and towels are provided along with a small coffee maker. The hotel provides some breakfast and has smoking and non-smoking room. If you smoke in a non-smoking room, youre charged a $150 fee.
The rooms are OK, theyre clean and have a microwave and a small fridge. They also have a decent continental breakfast. The TV sucks though. It seems to cut out very badly around peak hours. Other than that its not a bad place.
Went up in the middle of February (20 degrees out during the day), and not only was this planned for in advanced with the hotel, but the even had my room card key set aside and ready for me. And yet I get into my room with no heater turned on, and I swear the room was colder then outside. Took well over 3 hours to hear to a bearable temp.
Unacceptable customer service.I stayed at this location for one night with my wife and 4 month old son. The rooms were ok but the staff is terrible. Shortly after checkout I noticed a mystery charge for $150 from this Super 8. When I called to clear it up I was informed that the charge was for smoking in the room. We had our 4 month old with us and neither of us smoke...When I finally got a call back from the manager she told me she would have to go out and buy the deodorant and air freshener we use to see if that was the smell. If she couldnt find it I would have to wait for her to order it online. She subsequently implied that we had been using drugs in the room.I can not stress enough how upsetting this experience has been. We are not a couple of kids pisssed about getting busted smoking in a no smoking room, were parents, who dont smoke, who dont appreciate being accused of using drugs in the same room as our baby, and certainly dont appreciate being charged for it fraudulently.
Needed a spot to spend a single night of a road trip and this worked just fine. The breakfast is simple hut thats all you need. Room was clean and had tv with about 40 stations so nothing fabulous but enough to flip through. Not a five star resort but it isnt trying to be. Good place to spend the night.
We looked up pet friendly hotels in Alturas and found Motel 8 listed. We made our reservation online. When we got to the hotel we were informed that they would not accept our cats. Very disappointing; And deceptive advertising as the description as a “Pet Friendly” hotel should specify that cats are excluded. Don’t know about dogs but Maybe only certain breeds. Be carful if you travel here with your pets as you may be rejected.
$93.00 for one Christmas night in a rat infested room and and i didnt even get breakfast cause no one reset the clock. I was denied a smoking room with the excuse that they were all dirty and the maid service had the holidays off but woke up to housekeeping wanting my towels. Never again will I rent from them...the way I was treated by this particular establishment ruined the entire Super 8 chain for me! Merry Christmas
Planned to stay for two nights, but left after the first. They advertise free wi-fi, but the signal is so weak and unreliable it is virtually useless. Old and dated motel; our view was a broken down car next to our window. I had prepaid, but they refused to refund second night, even though the facilities were not acceptable. I would never stay here again.
Used our Wyndham rewards for a free stay after an event. We had spoken to the property several times about late check in due to a late running event and everything was secured. Showed up to the motel at midnight and was then told there was a $150 deposit for a $60 room. Ended up driving 2 hours home instead. What a joke! We lost our reward points, our free room, and drove home exhausted in the middle of the night. Next time we have an event near Alturas, we’ll make sure our 200+ attendees avoid this motel.
Room was a nice size everything clean. The room was extremely warm given the fact it was snowing. They do allow pets for a small additional fee, well worth it,
Fairly clean spacious rooms, and quiet. Continental breakfast. Been here twice now & no complaints. Good for a city so isolated.
Clean comfortable rooms, well kept property, rooms for under $100, everything I expect from a super 8. I stay on the road 3 days a week for work and I frequent super 8 motels, I dont stay in Alturas much but this will be my go to spot. Theres also room to park a few big trucks, RVs, or trailers in the parking lot.
I was very pleased to be treated so well! I recommend Super 8 in Alturas if you are seeking great staff and a great experience!
Clean, comfortable. Friendly staff. I would stay here again. Note it is not a 5 star hotel, it is old, but it has updates and the staff work hard to keep it clean.
Price is reasonable, rooms are well kept and comfortable, staff is super friendly and genuinely accommodating. Close to grocery & drug stores, gas stations and just a really nice place to stay in Alturas.

Do NOT stay here. We travel a lot and have stayed in many hotels, from dives to Ritz. There were only 2 bath towells for the 2 of us, i needed one for my hair as well, so far not a problem. Went to the office to ask for another and she said there werent any and gave me a bath mat...really? Never have I been told that they dont have extra towells. To make matters worse, the bath tub was plugged up and I had to shower in 2-3 of standing water. My husband had to wait for 20 min for the water to drain to take his. I know things happen but when I told the manager about it, I didnt even get an apology. She did check to see if there indeed were not any towells and she said that the night person was correct, there werent any. That was that. I have choice rewards and usually stay at one of their hotels. Thought about getting rewards for these but after that, no way. I will never stay at a super 8 again. Also, the person next to us had power issues.
The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful and accommodating. I will stay there in the future. Rooms were very clean with coffee and fridge.

Its the only chain hotel in town. So rates are higher than average. Its right off the main road through town, so you will hear the large trucks passing through.

Its a Super 8. They do have the make your own waffle breakfast which is nice. Continental Breakfast Plus they call it.

I was pleasantly surprised. I was with a firefighting crew and it was the only hotel in town with availability and it was clean and just fine for a couple days.

2022-02-16This Super 8 has some of the best customer service Ive experienced at any hotel, anywhere! It was great to encounter honest and kind people being nice to their guests. Both employees I spoke with were friendly and welcoming, and genuinely interested in helping make my stay the most comfortable it could be. The young lady that checked me in was happy to suggest some of her favorite places in town for food, and the man that check me out and got my receipt was cheery and friendly.The room was above expectations, especially for the price. Nothing fancy, but everything was functioning and clean. The heating/AC system was a little confusing and could maybe have had some clearer instructions, but other than that the room was everything you could hope for at this price point.Lastly, the location was very good; within walking distance of most things in town. I was able to talk to a couple different places and it was nice to not have to drive.

2022-04-08Booked online. No where does it say no cats. Said pet friendly so we book and pay a non refundable. Show up and we cant have the cats in the room. The attendant was great in trying to find us a solution. But ultimately non refundable we would lose money.Family slept in the room. I ended up staying in the car with the cats to run the heater. It got below freezing.If the online site would specify no cats. This would not have been an issue.And now after we get home we find a double charge. For the room.

2022-03-12Super 8 was great. The upstairs people were AWFUL! Evert step they took--squeeked their floor--our ceiling. They took 5 showers with us hearing all that water and toilet flushing. Then there were kids outside screaming. We are seniors. On vacation to Vegas and my husband got sick and spent 7 days in the hospital with bilateral pneumonia. He is not well. We are driving to SW Washington and really needed some sleep and rest to make it home by tonight--We did not sleep and did not rest. Not your fault though I had asked the receptionist if we could have a quiet area and room 118 is right in the middle of everything.

2021-01-27A friend was caught in bad weather in the mountains with no GPS and needed to find a nearby hotel. Big thanks to Donovan for prompt and courteous help with the situation. I did not stay at the hotel, so cannot comment on anything besides the stellar customer service, but being willing to be involved in a 3 way phone call to facilitate a late night accommodation is certainly noteworthy and greatly appreciated.

2018-08-28Nice, totally renovated hotel. Staff could not have been more accommodating, and carried out bags happily from our RV to our second floor room. We only asked if there was an elevator, and the night manager (tom) gladly assisted us. Nice accommodation s, great WIFI, tv, clear restroom... Even the windows are new... Home run choice!
