We have used the excellent services of Sherman Oaks Medical on two visits to California. We needed to rent a O2 concentrator for a month during our visits and experienced professional and cooperative staff and results both times. I heartedly recommended their people and their service.
SHERMAN OAKS MEDICAL SUPPLY is the best medical supply anyone can ever work with.Their stuff works with highest professional standards. They go out of their way to help you with your needs. I experienced it first hand when I went over to pick up supplies for my uncle which were ordered by the doctor for my uncle to use.When I walked in I was greeted with a smile and for a second I thought they hired that girl only to assist me but then realized that she was greeting everyone who walked in with a beautiful smile and very caring attitude.I was actually shocked on the speed of service they have. I felt very special, and happy that they had all the supplies ready for me to pick up.I promised to tell all my friends about SHERMAN OAKS MEDICAL SUPPLY and I was amazed on how many people already knew about them and none of them had anything bad to say about their management and stuff.SHERMAN OAKS MEDICAL SUPPLY is known and LOVED by many people I personally agree with them 100%The funny thing is, my time went by so fast when I was there I did not even get a chance to get the name of the girl who helped me. I think it was Suzy or Lucy. Who ever you are, THANK YOU!And I also thank the management of having such a great stuff working with them.
I bought a walker for my Dad...$388 so it was not some cheap piece of junk. 2 months later one of the screws fell out..simple fix right? I brought it back to Sherman Oaks Medical Supply for repair. Upon telling them of the problem they said that they did not carry the screws or the type of screw driver needed to fix it but that I could go to their repair shop in San Fernando to have it fixed. I said youre kidding me right, Im going to have to drive all the way to San Fernando to get a screw replaced? I said take it out of one of the new units here and then get a replacement for yourself and replace it. Logical right? No way, they said it was my responsibility to make sure the screws were tight. I told them it was the responsibility of the manufacturer or whoever assembled it to make sure that the screws would not fall out in two months of walking on carpets with it. They refused to fix it...until I mentioned that if my Dad who is 96 years old fell because of this loose wheel..that they would also be named in that Lawsuit. Miraculously literally within 20 seconds they not only found the correct screw but also the hex wrench to put it in.....their customer service TOTALLY SUCKS. I would never buy a single item from them again and had I known of their poor customer service and attitude prior, I certainly would not have dropped almost $400 on a walker in their store. How difficult would it had been to say sure, no problem we can fix that and thanks for your business? Which they will NEVER get again.
I have been a customer of Sherman Oaks Medical Supplies for several years now, but I am finally reviewing because I finally signed up for Yelp recently! I had a Quickie manual wheelchair which I was using for approximately 15 years and it was falling apart. I first went in to Sherman Oaks Medical Supplies, because I could not find any other medical supply store that actually did servicing on wheelchairs right there in store. That alone would be worth the Excellent service-quality-appeal across the board! But wait, there is more...! I was truly blown away by their level of professionalism and just how plain nice they are! No matter what the situation or need was for me, their response is generally, Not a problem.! So, the very first time I came in, I needed to have a few adjustments and repairs on my wheelchair. When they realized that I hadnt had a new wheelchair in 15 years, they immediately started the paperwork to get me a new wheelchair. And, believe you me, they werent trying to upsell me or anything like that. They wanted to know what chair was best for me and what chair I wanted. They didnt even charge me for any of the adjustments and repairs that day, knowing that my new chair would just be a couple of months away. Like I said before, I was really blown away by this. It takes customer service to a whole new level over there. They proceeded to do all of the research and paperwork and filing with Medi-Cal/Medicare and the insurance. And then, after just two short months, my brand-new Quickie wheelchair arrived! And if that wasnt enough, there is still more to the story...! When I came in to pick up my wheelchair, they took all the time that was needed to make sure that everything was fit and adjusted just for me. There wasnt a lot to adjust, because they had measured me very intricately before we ordered the chair. A couple of weeks later, I was having a problem with the manufacturers back rest. Once again, they took the time and care to figure out what was wrong with the back rest and they had it replaced at no expense to me. I would definitely recommend Sherman Oaks Medical Supplies to anybody who is looking for a manual wheelchair or a power wheelchair or a scooter or any other medical supplies for that matter. They have a huge inventory and showroom right there in the store. And like I said before, their customer service is aces and the staff is so friendly that it is crazy! Excellent service-quality-appeal across the board without a doubt!!
Walked in got greeted real nice. Got asked by the staff how could they help me. My father was about to go through hip surgery and they showed us their lift chairs . They are amazing we just went in there to rent it but my father loved it so much we ended up buying it. Such a great store and staff.
I am a scooter user, but my doctor told me its time to move up to an electric wheelchair. When I went in, I could barely breathe. My heart was racing. What will my life be like in an electric wheelchair? Jack and Hyak eased my fears (and gave me ultimate cups of coffee!) and made me realize that this was right. But before I was sure, I had in mind 4 tests... first... Can it be pink and green (I mean who has a dual colored chair?) Jack said hm, you want it, lets do it! Itll be our first but why not!?!?! (Noooo! One point to Sherman Medical, Zero Stephanie) Second, is it comfortable? They had me try the Permobil M3 and Jack had them take my measurements really quickly and fix it up for me... It reclined, it tilted, it did everything but cook dinner! (Uh oh 2 points Sherman Medical, 0 Stephanie!) Next, they took me outside and I said Ok if this goes over this awful ground over there, and I dont feel much, Im in trouble! Guess what? 3 points Sherman Medical, 0 Stephanie! Then my final test. Before I went I told my service dog, a standard poodle, if this is supposed to be the one, then jump on my lap and kiss me. Well, you guessed it... we got back in from the third test and he did paws up and I said Uh oh! This is it! Im in trouble! I couldnt stump them or my needs! I put off asking my mom or dad for the funds, because maybe I just could ignore my needs, but finally almost a month in, I asked. I finally had come to the realization that this WAS best for me and that it would hurt me a lot less! Ok I digress, lets go back to the original appointment. My scooter was messed up and Jack told one of the workers, please fix this ASAP, she cant drive it this way! And so they had my play in the M3 a little longer and see what they could do for my scooter and the nearly 2 hours bus ride home. Cost? ZERO! They said if I buy with them theyd also help care for my scooter for travel and everything! Im shocked! Well, I told them I wanted it before my birthday Oct 1st. So they said to come out for the final fitting and everything on the 30th and Ill go home with it! Im just in awe of this company! They really care! As someone that has been really struggling with my decline in mobility, these guys really made me feel at ease! I cant wait to go back there and get it and drive it home! Thank you Hyak and Jack! You guys are an amazing team! I wish it wasnt so far away or Id ask to work with you! ;) Thank you for making this transition as scary as it may be, as relaxing as it could be! I will always be a loyal customer! You guys deserve more than 5 stars!
As a business owner, customer service/customer care is one of my top priorities. To run into a business like Sherman Oaks Medical Supplies with extremely poor customer service, actually... NO CUSTOMER SERVICE, is beyond me. Ive purchased a lot of my supplies from this vendor and had to return a box of pull ups because it was too small. This lady by the counter, named Suzy, didnt even greet me and just said while walking away that they dont take returns or exchanges. She walked away and started talking to another employee. EXTREMELY RUDE! I wish she experiences the same service elsewhere. I was left by the counter with no assistance. NOTE: Their policy of No Refunds/No Returns was not even relayed to me during my visit or mentioned at all in the sales receipt. Businesses like these should not be in business.There are so many other medical supply businesses around the area that will welcome your business. Support them instead of this business.Have a nice day!!!
I took my sisters wheelchair to Sherman Oaks Medical Supplies for repair as it was falling apart. I was concerned that it would be a day or two as she needed it right away; however, Leo fixed in just a few minutes tightening it up. He understood the situation, was very efficient and courteous. I was so pleased and my sister was grateful as well.
I have enjoyed repair services on my wheelchair with Sherman Oaks Medical Supply in Pacoima, California I would not buy any Medical supplys other Medical Supply Stores. I have been very happy with Sherman Oaks, Other Medical Store in the Valley would not help me. Jack you were the only person that has helped me. The years that I have known Sherman Oaks Medical Supply Store in Sherman Oaks, California is the only store that helps out the Deaf and the disable and also understands there needs, Jack your macanics in Pacoima have help me a lot. When something is wrong with my wheelchair, it gets fixed. Thank you Jack for helping me I know that it was hard to understand me, but we and your girls at the Sherman Oaks Store Learned how to communicate , you and your staff can communicate with a person that is Deaf, all of your staff have received calls from me talking with an interpreter for the Deaf. The staff are very courteous and willing to help with your supply needs. They help you with making good and budget friendly decisions if things arent covered by insurance. They are convenient and usually have what you need in stock which is fantastic when you need something right away for your loved one.

MOST AMAZING BUSINESS!!I just got 2nd home in Santa Monica and left my CPAP in Vegas. Called everywhere for CPAP machine to no avail. Found Sherman Oaks Medical supplies online and left message with their answering service. Jack the owner called me back immediately and arranged for someone to open store at 9pm on Saturday night. Sold me Resmed Airsense 10 at the best advertised price and would have paid more but he said no will sell sat lowest price.Thank you Jack great service thanks for saving me!
I went in today with a doctors note/list of what to get. Despite the fact that there were 3-4 employees milling about, I had to wait 15 minutes for help from Natalie (who kept calling me sweetheart, ugh gross) so she could finish paperwork.Then I get helped. Natalie, without asking me why needed a compression stocking, insists that my doctor doesnt know how theyre supposed to be worn and starts lecturing me about how she knows more about swelling because she has to get certified every other month. (She did at least give it a rest when I told her what was really wrong--she had guessed my injury incorrectly instead of asking me--but still, I could have done without the rant.)Then, when I get home and do some research about what I bought, I find out that not only did I overpay, but its not the right product, even though she had the exact specifications from my doctor!Save yourself the trouble and go elsewhere.
Ive been purchasing posture corrector and wound care supplies and some other things like for about a year now, and I am very pleased with the products I have been purchasing. Customer service is always ready to answer any questions and do what they can for you to make your visit welcoming.

Yohsee, i am really surprised that you got such bad service...the first time i showed up at the store,i was pretty distraught...my son, newly paralyzed...me, just stumbling thru the dark...Jack and the others were so kind and helpful...Jack really extended himself on my boys behalf. Also met some really nice customers who were also helpful. So far we have had only positive things happen...but just learned they are no longer doing repairs in the store and one has to go to Pacoima...that is a bummer...i do hope they reconsider...otherwise, really appreciate this place...

Shop is JAMMED full of high quality things! Other than a small area to move, they have or can get EVERYTHING!! VERY warm staff, willing to negotiate price & have even shown me their actual price payed on occasion. Helped me navigate the nightmare of what insurance & medicare will & wont pay for.

Do Not Use these people!!!!! Anthem says no pre authorization necessary however Sherman Oaks Medical will not fill prescription. Also Sherman Oaks Medical demanded copies on medical records they have no need of. Confirmed by Anthem. Avoid them and use someone else. Bad Company!
They were very accomodating - extending my chair rental for an additional week at no additional charge. Manny also was very patient with me and incredibly knowledgeable. I highly recommend them.
I was in and out in under 10 minutes. I needed a short walking boot and the staff quickly helped me get what I needed and back on my way. Prices were cheaper than other local shops that I tried. Staff was super friendly.
Sherman Oaks helped me in a pinch while on the road. Kevin was especially patient, easy to work with, and communicative. Thank you!

2022-03-18I went here looking for some medical supplies for on of my family members. Everyone there was very helpful and really nice. I just want to give a shout out to GIO, who was super helpful employee! I needed a receipt so I could submit it to my insurance and he was nice enough to assist me with this request TWICE!!! (He took the time to go back and research for me) That is what I call GREAT customer service! If the managers are reading this review you need to promote this young man! Very helpful and great attitude! Thanks again GIO! Great place to get your medical supplies!

2020-06-04I had spine surgery back in November. I had my previous wheelchair for 6 years and was in need of a new one. A friend recommended this place, I was honestly hesitant to get a chair from a different company, but I am so glad I came to Sherman Oaks Medical Supplies!!! They made the process so easy, and quick!! My needs were heard and met and i couldnt be more grateful for that. Having a wheelchair that fits like a glove can make such a big difference in your life. I can honestly say I finally have my dream chair! A huge thank you to Lucy and Jack, both of you have given me my independence and freedom back! Definitely recommend !!! :)

2021-01-23Needed a new battery for my Gogo Traveler Elite scooter (apparently batteries only last a year or less). Visited their repair shop, and they had it in stock! Was greeted by Giovanni who was very pleasant and helpful, and took me back to the repair shop area, where Freddie took only 10 minutes to replace the old batteries! The staff were all wearing masks and were very helpful and courteous. They have a large selection of scooters (both new and used). I would definitely recommend them for any and all medical equipnent and supplies!!!

2019-10-30These guys are awesome! Kevin was great, he helped me find a lightweight scooter for my grandfather. He was friendly and answered all of our questions. They were not pushy just courteous towards me and my grandfather. All around satisfied and will return in the future if needed. Thank you Kevin and thank you Sherman Oaks Medical.

2019-11-16I have visited LA for one week in October. I tried to rent a mobility scooter with a competitor. They were not able to organize for a suitable delivery. I should be happy that delivery failed as I came across Sherman Oaks.I was entirely satisfied with the scooter provided (Elite Go Go Sprt, fits into trunk of most cars as well as buses and Metro). Without that scooter I would not have been able to do plenty of sightseeing.Service was very good and reliable. Moreover Sherman was cheaper than the competitor would have been.

The quality of the wheelchair, reclining chair, and other handicapped mobility equipment Ive bought there have been of the highest quality. They especially have great power reclining/lift chairs and handicap beds on the second floor. J is very knowledgeable and hard-working to get what you need.

2012-12-12Like they say, never judge a book by its cover. Sherman Oaks Medical Supplies honestly didnt look appealing from the outside, but its an entire different story on the inside. I was very impressed on how much various kinds of products both for ambulatory and handicap people. They have a well organized, clean, and easy to find product showroom floor. They have a friendly, competent, and knowledgeable staff on hand to serve your every medical need. I would like to thank Jack and his team of experts for taking the time to take care of me, their patience, and their willingness to listen and accommodate! I will definitely recommend Sherman Oaks Medical Supplies to other people!!!

2013-09-21Sherman Oaks Medical supply has done wonders for me and my family. Unfortunately in mid august my grandfather got a stroke, and was unable to ambulate for some time. It was difficult for me but thanks to Sherman oaks medical Supply, they were able to provide my grandfather with the things he needs to go on through the day. They had given us a hospital bed, walker, and a transport wheel chair with fair prices, and I am very happy with there service. Id like to thank them for making it easier on my family, and I know if I ever need anything else they would have it ready for me in the store.
