Extremally poor customer service. If you book a reservation, they will not be able to give you a refund if something occurs, and the system is so poorly designed that they will try to put you in circles to avoid giving you any context into the reservation.Avoid this hotel if you want to have a good trip.
The entire place seems clinical and dated. The lighting choices definitely didn’t help in the lobby or in the rooms. The upgraded suites with balconies have unfortunate views of empty/dried out planters. The staff are friendly and helpful, which helped make the experience not a total loss.
Positive: Able to self park. Stayed at Hilton in Pasadena previously and only valet parking was available. Negative: Asked when I checked in about elevators to bring luggage up. Sheraton shares garage with convention center. Followed signs that showed elevators and convention center straight ahead. Parked there and unloaded luggage. Wrong place. Had to call front desk.
The service and food were fantastic! Jose P., Rattana, Rosi, and supervisor Sandra in the restaurant did a wonderful job of serving us. Juan Carlos and supervisor Randy did a terrific job of serving us in the bar. The food was marvelous. The Huevos Rancheros was the best we ever had anywhere. The Grill Asparagus, Cobb Salad, and Salmon were all excellent. Cathy, who I believe was the front desk manager, also did an amazing job and made sure we got the room and location we wanted. The Sheraton Club was also nice, and it was greatly appreciated that it was open during these trying Covid-19 times. Rosi, Roberto and Caesar all were very helpful and attentive in the Sheraton Club. One minor comment that while the Club offered bottle water all day, it would be better if it also offered coffee, tea and soft drinks throughout the day ... like other Sheraton Clubs that are currently open such as the San Gabriel Sheraton currently offers. The only other minor point is our room. We were in the Penthouse Suite, and while it was functional, it does need to be refurbished as it is looking old and somewhat worn. While also functional, the outside wall AC Units looked, sounded, and performed like a Holiday Inn room from the 70s.Overall, a fantastic stay and we look forward to coming back ... especially for the service and food!
This hotel is in a good location surrounded by shopping and dining options. The hotel was clean, but appeared older and the rooms were less well planned than newer hotels Ive stayed in recently. The bathroom was relatively cramped with almost no counter space around sink to put any personal items. The skinny room closet with sliding doors allowing you to reach only half the closet at a time, which cut away space from the bathroom, was so small and hard to access, it seemed like an afterthought when planning. The room door didnt keep any noise or conversations from the hallway from coming in, especially annoying when trying to sleep. It cost $30 per night to park in the adjacent garage shared with the convention center.
Decent place but they charge for the continental breakfast and $30 for parking. No coffee in the rooms but you can call for it, which is odd. No coffee in the lobby either unless you pay for it. No restaurant for dinner. There is a bar where you can get dinner but not appropriate for children. Not a family friendly place.
Despite seeing the 3-star rating Yelp, I hoped this Sheraton would exceed my expectations as so many other Sheratons have. I am sad to report that it did not. My husband and I stayed here for a quick, one-night getaway, and we had a solid 3-star experience. See below for a full review.PROS:- The location: One massive reason to stay at this property is its ideal location in Old Town Pasadena. Its adjacent to the Pasadena Convention Center & the Pasadena Civic Auditorium and across the street from the Paseo, which houses popular shops, such as H&M and West Elm.- Fresh furniture: Since this place recently reopened, all of the furniture is new and shiny, sleek and modern. Our California King bed was so comfortable, and our pups took a liking to the burnt orange chaise lounge (spoiled pups, they are). There are no lemons here. The photos you see on the website are EXACTLY what the rooms look like IRL.- Dog-friendly: We were able to bring our two little doggos w/ no extra charge or hassle at the front desk.CONS:- Many common amenities (e.g., robes, slippers, etc.) are not automatically stocked in the room. You have to request such items. They do provide a handy list of complimentary items you can request on the in-room desk. This would not be a huge issue if it werent for my next point...- Service can be slooooow. The first thing I did upon checking in was request two sets of robes, slippers and toothbrushes. Easy requests, right? Apparently not, as it took over two hours and another phone call for me to receive those items. I was later informed that the hotel ran out of fresh robes, so they had to wait for more to be laundered before bringing a pair up. A bit of communication would have been nice, as I am a reasonable person. Sadly, I was not informed of the reason for the delay until I received the items hours late.- The pool is filthy. The pool in my apartment building is in better condition, and its not doing too great either.- This is petty, but...the TV in our room was too darn small for the size of the room. It felt cheap.
Great location in Pasadena! I was able to walk to dinner both nights, and enjoy the shops along the main roads easily. The hotel seems updated recently and the rooms are comfortable and spacious. I’ve been here twice now and when I’m back in Pasadena again, I’ll likely return.
Positive: Location Negative: My staying at this hotel with high price per night and you can¿t talk and laugh wit people complaining is not worth it. If you need a hotel where you can be quiet, not talking or you are going to be out of the room most of the time, this is the perfect o
Great hotel, amenities were nice, gym was great, always clean. Staff was always giving me what I needed, they always accommodated me which is what I will always remember. My room needed a little loose, as the curtains were kind of old and the bolts were loose. I should have mentioned it in the beginning but it wasn’t a big deal. Great place if you have a pet, as they accommodated me no problem and the room was nice.
Positive: Very courteous staff. Hotel was impeccably clean. Rooms were very spacious and beds were extremely comfortable. Bathrooms were spacious as well and amenities include a mini fridge, coffee maker, hair dryer, iron Negative: Parking at $30 a day is absurd. Should give a discount for longer stays.
Positive: Great location, clean throughout, friendly staff, easy parking. Nice part of town, close to main strip but not directly on it. Short, easy walk to restaurants, shopping, etc. Negative: The decor is dated and perhaps due to covid, looks sparse or even a bit deserted upon entering. No plants, pictures, stuff like that. It definitely could use an upgrade. Small room with same dated decor but clean & comfortable, with TV, wifi, etc.
I travel alot and this hotels customer service is phenomenal. They provided a room that was exceptionally clean ( very impotant to me in this pandemic) and made sure I had all of the things I requested upon getting settled in. Recommend if your staying in pasedena, CA area.
Check was easy and fast. The rooms were clean when we first arrived and the beds are soft and comfy. Due to Covid-19 they arent cleaning the rooms daily which is why I took off one star. But you can call for extra towels and anything else you might need. I called for some towels and it arrived within 2 minutes. The room service was fast as well. I would stay again if Im ever in town.
My request for a balcony room was honored. These are all on the second floor. My room happened to be right in front of a condo building being renovated directly in front of my balcony. It was noisy and dust would fly as stuff was dropped from the top of the building. After one night I requested a different room which was honored, moving me to the other side of the hotel for 6 more nights. This room was great. The beds and pillows are unusually and exceptionally comfortable and a cold blowing AC. The second room was about 2 or 3 feet wider than the first room. It gave me more space without feeling cramped. I was able to leave the bathroom door open to walk back and forth to it. The first room required the bathroom door to be shut in order to get around the door into the room. The club lounge offerings are very minimal. They really should be upgraded at this point in time. Covid is not an excuse any longer. The star of the hotel, winner of the hospitality award goes to Rosie, the club lounge server. She is very welcoming and intuitively accommodating. Every hotel would benefit from a Rosie. Rosie made sure I had a special fruit cup set aside without pineapple each morning since it causes me problems. She seemed pleased to see me as I was to see her each morning. The Sheraton is very lucky to have found Rosie to hire for this position. I always appreciate a kind and welcoming hostess or host. There is room for improvement and for expanded offerings in the club lounge - covid is no longer an excuse. There is great need for evening snacks to be added. Just no, to chips and granola bars. Ive never stayed at a Sheraton before and sort of felt like I wasnt liking it initially, probably because I just wasnt used to the differences. Between Rosie and my fabulous bed, pillows and AC, and even great water pressure with lots of hot water, unlike any place Ive ever stayed in CA, I can recommend this hotel and can actually say I liked it and will book it again. I needed to visit someone in the hospital each day. It was an easy 1 mile walk and I could go right past Whole Foods, without going out of my way, to pick up special orders to make the hospital patient happy. The pool looked inviting but I didnt have a swimsuit or time. I will also throw in here that my first room wasnt totally clean. There were sticky spots on the bedside table and on the bathroom floor. My second room was immaculate. Like any hotel, housekeepers can be hit or miss.
The hotel was clean and a great location. However, service was very poor. Our room was never cleaned during our weekend stay, which isnt a major issue, except when I went down both mornings to request additional coffee and creamer since they werent replenished, the front desk associates appeared totally put out by my request. The hotel bar closed an hour early, which I understand having worked in restaurants much of my life, but when we asked for a wine opener and glassware so we could enjoy a drink in our room, they said they didnt have either and again appeared annoyed at my request. I requested a curling iron (only because it was on the list of complimentary item in our room) and they also didnt have that. Upon check out, they tried charging us $75 for room service we never ordered. It was cleared up within several minutes but just added to the negative feelings. We have plenty of patience for one or two of these things happening but when every service related item fails, its clearly not their priority. The safety precautions for Covid made the space feel safe and it was clean and nice. However, considering many other hotel in the same area, we will be staying elsewhere next time. Good service makes or breaks a stay and we have never received such poor quality in all our travels.
The hotel feels very unorganized. First of all my booking for a bi-level loft turned into a club level room. The check in staff did not explain to me why. We went to the room they gave us, the room has not been cleaned yet. They then gave us another room on the club level, but did not explain to us our booking is for club level at all. The front desk staff only said Id like to keep the guest on the same level which I did not understand at the time. we only found out aftermath that our booking end up being a club level booking which is about $40 extra /day. But includes breakfast for two.The next day we went to the club dining, there wasnt any breakfast that was supposed to be included, we ended being charged the full price.During the six days we stayed, they never once supplied bottled water. House keeping happened twice (on day two and day five). Now on to the small attention to details. On the club level, the vending machine did not work. (Tried with credit card and cash). In the room, the scale is very much out of battery. The land line doesnt work. (Tried to use room service). We get it, who use landline these days? The parking garage only have staff on duty when there is event at the convention center adjacent to the hotel. But when there is an event, the hotel guest parking pass ($20/day) will get you in, but good luck in finding a parking space.Overall, it feels chaotic and staff is not well prepared to handle questions, manage guests expectations. On to some positive points. The room is overall not crowded, and well kept. The towels are large and nice. Our room is not on the street side, so reasonably quiet. I personally like the shower only option. Location is great.I do hope they will continue working on better customer service.
Positive: Location- nice staff Negative: Reserved and prepaid for room with king bed, got bumped to room with 2 queens. Rep offered to look for room with king but I didnt want to wait , I was running late and needed to check in. Overall nice room, friendly staff - would return to hotel
Positive: Great location right next to Paseo Colorado shopping area, City Auditorium, Convention Center, etc. On calm streets in a leafy neighborhood. The retro ambience is wonderful too (like a set out of The Graduate). Nice pool area.... Negative: Nope; it was really good.
The room is great! The location is awesome! The parking is a cluster @#$&. Upon our arrival it took me over 2 hours to find parking to accommodate my truck. And that parking cost me $140 for length of our stay and I am praying that my truck is still there on Monday when we check out.Edit: It just keeps getting better! We just found out the the vending machines are down and now we have to walk a couple of blocks to get something to drink. It just keeps getting better! So we are in our fourth and final night of our stay and when we returned to our room after the convention we were attending we noticed that the maids decided to skip our room. I know this isnt that big of a deal but when I pay this much for a room, I expect clean towels. But I can tell that they are not very thorough because the previous guest left a dirty pair of underwear on top of the AC unit.I have emailed the hotel and I will bring it further up the Mariot Bonvoy food chain if need be. Our stay here has not been up to the standards that I would expect for what we paid.
Booked for one night as a birthday treat. Got unlucky and ended up with a shower that was clogged, so I could only do a military-speed shower on my birthday trip to LA :(No resolution except to send up a tech early next morning, which means I couldnt sleep in.Two rather than one star because the room was still clean and useable otherwise.
Positive: Nothing. Negative: The pillows were so flat.We could not sleep at all.The gap between the door & the floor was so wide, light & noise was coming into our room from the hallway. It was so bright as if the bathroom light was left on & you could hear & see each person walk by.
Just reopened 2 weeks ago after being closed for a year. Still getting things in order so be patient. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Especially night shift. I know this because I work there. Beds are very comfortable and near Colorado Blvd. Come stay a few nights you will enjoy it
Staying here now no one cleaned room. Dried urine in corner in bathroom disgusting! Asked for club level to lady that answered phone last night.i asked if I needed to come down now she said no. She would make note of it.. I went in this morning. The new lady at desk knew nothing about it. Frustrated That is my stay so far. I also asked if I could pay for it. No
We had a suite for two days. Upon arrival, the room was super clean and looked pretty updated (modern-upscale decor). The location of the hotel was super convenient for us — close to the freeways with plenty of restaurants and stores nearby. The hotel offers a free shuttle within a 3 mile radius. Parking is shared with the convention center but didn’t had any trouble finding parking. $20/night. The Club Lounge is nice and big.
First time at this location. My room didnt have a nice view but the room itself was nice and spacious. The a/c worked well, got very cold. They have updated their locks to RFID yet, they also have the older software on their TVs so no apps yet. I only stayed for one night I didnt get to experience any of the outlets (Restaurant, Bar, gym) they do have EV chargers in their self parking area which is free but you have to pay for parking.
I stayed 2 nights with my sister. We were in town for a funeral. We enjoyed our stay. I loved the décor, nice little bar that turned into a coffee shop in the morning. We ordered a burger from the bar and it was great. Room was clean but if you are short like me, the sink and mirror in the restroom are designed for taller people. Everyone is friendly and this hotel is walking distance to shops and restaurants so once we parked our car we did not need it since everything you need is so close.
This was the perfect location to attend the Golden State Tattoo Expo. Its only steps away from restaurants and the outdoor mall. The beds were super comfortable and the decor was very stylish. The bathrooms could use more lighting but the big windows in the bedroom made up for it. The amenities were what we needed: fridge, coffee maker, television and also speakers to hook your phone up to so you can listen to tunes as you get ready. The construction was a headache. We traveled here just for the convention so we used Uber from the airport. When we got to the hotel, there wasnt any clear directions on where to drop us off. The front entrance is totally blocked off with construction workers hammering down at the cement. The staff at the front desk were kind enough to try to put us in the furthest room away from the construction so we wouldnt be bothered. Luckily when we did get to our room we didnt hear a noise of it. Unfortunately only one elevator was working at this time so my husband and I used the stairs. It wasnt that bad but it will test your patience when everyone else is waiting for the elevator. Otherwise, the bar was nice and food was okay. I would come back again only if they are not under construction.
Overall, my stay was pleasant and comfortable. I just wish the checkin clerk would’ve told me about the amenities offered—like the shuttle service provided. I didn’t do a lot because I didn’t want to walk and I didn’t want to use my own car. I didn’t know about the free WiFi because I wasn’t told at check in either. I reserved a room with a balcony and I didn’t get it. I wish I had. The room itself was clean and fresh and beautiful.
Spent the night at The Sheraton in Pasadena. Great location, close to all, easy to find. Modern, light and bright. Room was large, comfortable, bathroom and shower clean and modern. Front desk staff and valet were most helpful. Had breakfast in the restaurant and it was delicious. Lots of working professionals there with laptops and networking meetings. Safe surroundings. Would highly recommend and will return!
Overall, this hotel was just okay. The room, while clean, had very thin walls so I was able to hear the conversations of my neighbors at all hours of the night and early morning. The hotel bar and food was great and the bartender gave excellent service! Beware that some Marriott levels dont get you any benefits at this hotel (i.e., club access, room upgrades)!
I waited around the check-in without anyone at desk for awhile, no acknowledgement of my membership - that part doesn’t really bother me, but I did not ask for an upgrade and I probably should have. I opted for the “green” service and I should NOT have done that. The room was filthy! I have a CPAP machine and I have to get down on the ground to search for a plug, so I can always tell when my room is clean or not. The air-conditioner was so noisy I couldn’t sleep, the temperature gauge is so far away from the Aircon that it continues to run long after the room is cold, the toilet flushed so violently it was scary! The shower could not maintain the temperature throughout a five minute or shorter shower. The “club lounge” was lackluster at best, the overnight parking fee was not clear, though the DAY rate was posted everywhere. And because it is a convention center hotel, parking for guests is somewhat limited, in addition there seems to be a fair amount of construction which also limits parking. The workout facilities are quite nice, but getting on the Internet is difficult for “some reason“ and the television was also unreliable. My business associate ordered a meal at the restaurant and said it was very good so at least there’s that.
While the hotel was nice looking, the bathroom was beautiful, like walking into a spa resort. Hotel conveniently located next to the convention center. That is the good, now for the NOT GOOD. No washcloth in bathroom; pillows are ridiculously flat, for feather pillows. Too, too soft; even the foam pillows are too soft. The bed is plush (if you want to sink into the mattress, add too soft feather pillows and finally take a weighted down comforter to top it off. I stacked the feather pillows on top of each other and they flattened out. Housekeeping does not answer requests. I made my reservation, with specifics to have ONLY foam pillows. When I checked in, all the pillows were feather pillows. I asked to have them changed out, NO, did not happen.Ordered room service... way over priced food: $6 glass of milk; $8 greek yogurt with a few slices of fruit and a sparse sprinkling of granola. The bagel was nicely toasted with ample amount of cream cheese.Front Desk people were quite friendly; but I have to wonder if that is all they do? Cant they be cross trained to help out if housekeeping does not respond the requests?
I enjoyed staying 2 nights at Sheraton Pasadena. The room was kept clean, and I believe the quality of the house keeping was high compared to peers.Receptionist was very polite and check-in and check-out process was very smooth.I had a chance to have breakfast at restaurant SOLEIL, the food was nice. The parking lot attendant was very helpful and supportive on my departure.
Ok, not great but ok. The location is great. Downtown Pasadena is really nice. The hotel looked like it was remodeled about 4 years ago but maintenance is an issue. The rooms and bathrooms are small. Skip the food, the bacon in the lounge is like a wet paper bag. Lots of great places near by to eat.
Ive stayed at the Sheraton Pasadena Hotel several times for an annual convention and always get great service. The rooms are clean, quiet, and of good size. The beds are firm and very comfortable. I love that there is a setting on the thermostat that allows a fan to stay on all night for white noise. The bathroom was extremely clean, great shower water pressure, and has a large mirror which is very convenient if youre sharing a room and two people have to get ready for the day at the same time. The TV was not working well this visit; it would never turn on so Id have to call for maintenance each evening to get it reconnected to the cable service. But maintenance always arrived within 5 minutes and got the TV working very quickly, so it was only a minor inconvenience.I love that this hotel is right next to the Pasadena convention center, with parking underneath, so once I arrive all the classes and trade shows are within an easy walk from building to building, all in the same block. Whats even better is that directly across the street is a beautiful shopping complex with several restaurants and a gourmet grocery store (Gelsons) with a to-die-for deli if you dont feel like eating out. There was a refrigerator in the room, which is very convenient. I only wish there was a small microwave, too, considering all the wonderful restaurants nearby. It would have been nice to be able to re-heat leftovers brought back to the room from an evenings meal.Nice accommodations, friendly efficient service, and location make the Pasadena Sheraton a terrific place to stay any time Im in the area.
A group of us older women were at the hotel to celebrate the marriage of an older bride. The entire staff was friendly and accommodating. The beds were spectacular. The New bathrooms are well planned and beautiful. The balcony room gave us a feeling of spaciousness when we were all together. This hotel experience got only positive comments from this group.
Staff members at the front desk (especially Annette, Melissa and Shannon) went out of their way to ensure a very comfortable stay, despite ongoing construction at the property. Staff members throughout the hotel were friendly and helpful. The hotel is ideally located within easy walking distance to restaurants, cafes and shops. For distances up to three miles, the hotel provides complimentary shuttle service with courteous and excellent drivers. I will definitely be returning!
We needed to book a room for our family of 4, last minute. Since it was over a holiday weekend, and we specifically needed more than one bed, we thought it unlikely to get anything nice or affordable, close to L.A. Sheraton Pasadena was a dream come true, a saving grace!! We appreciated the space we had, the 2-story ceilings & windows, the large patio, the clean carpets & bathrooms, the beautiful comfy, fluffy beds with down pillows & comforters. It was literally a dream. We could not have asked for anything to be better! The valet parking was so convenient, with fast & friendly service. The front desk was accommodating, fulfilling our request for a different mini-fridge when ours wasn’t cooling, and providing us with a crib for our baby. We couldn’t thank them enough; it was one of the best stays we’ve ever had while traveling!
Ive been staying in Pasadena for many years now. The Sheraton, over time, really needed improvements and to be modernized. (obviously with the building design that presented some problems, but...)Mr Haberman, the GM, had asked me to be patient, as they were remodeling for the better part of a year - working their way from the top to the lobby level.I had a couple frustrating stays, but really like the staff and location - felt there was so much potential at this property. The remodel really is quite the upgrade - they were able to add a couple jr Suites - and everything was fresh (furniture, beds, bathrooms, carpets, art, etc.).Besides the great rooms, they did something other Sheratons should consider - they made the Club Lounge on the lobby level near the restaurant. Now having traveled a LOT all over, the Club Lounge was always at or near the top of most properties. Down side is its really generally 1-2 converted rooms and they can get crowded (and access to the kitchen for staff is not easy. Now, its located (key controlled) through restaurant with some tables outside. Its very nice and large. Staff was fabulous. (I know some people are going to want to be able to go to Club Lounge in their PJs which was always strange, imho - but this is so much more professional and nice - the overall quality of food and the staff there were unmatched in any Club Lounge Ive been in in several years)As a long time SPG Platinum member, I stuck with them out of loyalty - and Mr Haberman (and staff) really showed how much that loyalty meant to them. This remodel really makes this a wonderful hotel, once again.Highly recommended.
Place was great and staff where really helpful. Everything went great but the hotels hallways seem to have a chemical smokey smell. Im sure it was a regularity but the elevator had a different odor of themselves. But overall great stay. Clean rooms and great bed. Will be back for another visit
Good location fir this hotel within walking distance of shops and restaurants. Nice rooms however they share parking with the convention center. On several occasions I have had to park in no parking zones even after paying $20 a day to park. Most hotels that share space give you a card or something to put on your dash. Not here. If you’re doing, consider staying elsewhere. Two excellent choices of major hotel chains are nearby.
Location is great. Couple of restaurants within walking distance. It is right behind the Pasadena Conference Center which is where I needed to be. One and only issue was the air conditioning unit is awfully loud at night. Couldnt really get a great nights rest, since if it wasnt on, the room would get pretty hot. As for the service, I didnt need much, but the housekeeping staff seemed friendly enough. They greeted us with smiles, said hello and all that. I was on the second floor, which had access to the gym and pool, although I didnt use those facilities. Not sure if its just Pasadena in general, but the town seemed a little empty so the hotel wasnt very packed. Overall, the stay was acceptable for just one night, but I dont think I would be able to stay here for much longer than that.
Looked forward to a stay in Pasadena while attending a Wedding Reception near by. Was a quick walk to the Pasadena Masonic Temple. Was disappointed that valeting the car took so long and that the room wasnt ready at 4:00. It was a quick walk to the reception so that was perfect. After the reception, we were able to check in and found the room was very nice. The bed was beautiful the room was clean. Our stay was very comfortable, in the morning, it did take a long time to check out, and didnt like to find out premium guests can just go to the head of the line. There should be a better way.
Valet, front desk and lounge staff did a very nice job in their respective areas. The lounge was understaffed and this was a little inconvenience in terms of waite time. Would have liked to see the manager assisting the staff given how busy it was. Overall a nice property and location. Getting to and from the Rose Bowl was very convenient.
We love finding a great deal and we found it at The Sheraton Pasadena. We upgraded for a small fee to the Club House Level and it did not disappoint! Free appetizers and Wine or Beer was awesome! We were surprised at the quality of the cheeses etc. The Complimentary continental breakfast was great fresh fruit and bagels and the GOURMET coffee machine was delicious. They did not charge us to bring our puppy. And even brought her a welcome package with doggie bed, water and food bowls and bathroom bags. We were seriously impressed! The room was clean and the staff was very attentive and friendly. This was our first time at a Sheraton and will not be our last. All of the little touches they added really made a difference. I re injured my ankle and asked for a late check out while my fiance was in his business meeting( so I could keep it elevated) and they happily agreed. We didnt get to utilize the free shuttle to Old Town but was nice to know it was there. We come to LA often and are happy to have found our hotel. Thanks!
Old but clean with friendly staff, but not worth the price. We arrived on Friday for a 1-night stay in a king-size bed bedroom. Room was not very big, but was well equipped and relatively clean (Starbucks coffee, fridge). However, the bed was not very comfy, and the bathroom less than mediocre (very small, smells of bleach, very old shower head, slightly dirty shower curtain). Furthermore, they do no offer free breakfast. Definitely no worth the price.
This hotel was kept clean and tidy. It was modern and up to date. The staff was kind and pleasant. The access to the convention center was extremely easy. The beds are extremely comfortable and the suites on the fifth floor are spacious enough for a family or friends. The club lounge breakfast was delicious and the hors doeuvres, though pretty basic, were also satisfying. There is an espresso machine in the club lounge as well. Overall it was a very pleasant stay for us. No complaints here!
Our room was clean and spacious. However the walls are so thin you can hear guests in the next room talking in normal voices. We could also hear people above us. The carpet in the hallway on the 3rd floor is buckled and a tripping hazard. We decided to upgrade to club level. Lets just say the quality and variety of food needs to be updated and upgraded before I would ever spend the extra money to do that again. i was really disappointed in the hotel. I thought staying at a Sheraton would automatically be a great experience. I was wrong. All that being said its a great location for going to the Rose Parade or Rose Bowl game. Remember great location does not equal great facilities.
Meh. Stayed here on business and while it wasnt a terrible experience I wouldnt write home about it. The room I stayed in was small as well as the television. Drinks at the bar werent terribly expensive though so thats a plus. The hotel is also nearby a lot of great places to eat within Pasadena. All in all a good place to stay if you need it and want to be near the downtown area.
This is a nice hotel but the lounge is just ok. The dinner attendant was terrible. I sat there for two evenings and she never once offered me a drink. The bar/ restaurant for is sub standard. Walk less than .4 miles and eat at some amazing places. The food in the lounge is average at best. I am an Amdasador level with Marriott, so I know what to expect.
We were very impressed with our recent stay. Staff was friendly especially Monica at the front desk! She took extra time answering our questions and making us feel at home. She pointed out money saving services that were offered in the area. The room was clean, cool, and comfortable as well as quiet. Definitely will be back🌹
I arrived at the hotel very late at 12am midnight, exhausted after 12 hrs flight. I booked a double queen beds room for me and my brother. I checked with the front desk to see if we have any luck to be upgraded to a suite room with an extra sofa bed, so either myself or my bro can sleep on it. I was told YES as I was a SPG platinum. I was grateful for it.But when we finally open the door to our suite, it turned out to be just a small standard room with one KING bed. How could we two adults share it?I called the front desk staff. He then promised to give me an update immediately to a so called Full House. I didn’t understand what a full house mean in Sheraton. I asked him if it was a suite with a sofa bed or rollout bed? He said it is full house! OK, I got the implication. A full house must be bigger than a suite. What a surprise! I was told to wait for 10 mins in my room. After 30mins, no one came. So we went back to the front desk and found we had to wait for not knowing how long. It was almost 1 am. So we saved our luguage there and went out for some 24hr restaurant. We came back an hour later, and was told to be UPGRADED to a CLUB ROOM with double beds. Where was the full house going? Anyway I accepted it immediately as we need a comfortable sleep ASAP. I and my bro went to the new club room expecting it somewhat looks like a suite. After we opened the door, we found it exactly a small standard room, only with double beds.It might be my fault to expect a better experience at this Sheraton. But what I booked for was a double beds room, why it took so long to give me the same type of room after a lot of upgrade promise? If you still want to stay with this Sheraton after reading through my experience, good luck!
Nice hotel, nice staff, good breakfast, good location. However, some of the rooms on the first floor which are considered bi-level have someone of a weird layout. The bathroom and closet are on the main floor and the bed and desk are on the lower part of the floor/room. It can be somebody giving it to go to the restroom in the middle of the night as you have to go upstairs and navigate your way through a tight space. The bed is very comfortable though and the hotel overall is very nice.
Older property. Under construction, likely renovations during visit, no proper lobby except for after following a long handicapped accessible ramp? Very small rooms, loooooong corridors and long walk to get to room. Clean, nice, can imagine would be great if you had business or pleasure at the convention center. The parking lot elevator goes directly to the rooms, even after hours though (is that secure?). Solid C in my book, probably wouldnt return.
Location is nice; lots of quality restaurants within a 5 minute walking distance. The diner in the hotel has pretty slow service and high prices, but the food tastes good. However, the rooms arent great. The lower floors have unnecessary stairs, which means less space. The sinks are so small you cant put your stuff there, yet the rest of the bathroom is so big. There is no exhaust fan, so prepare for a steamy, humid shower. The top of the air conditioner looks like someone just shaved their beard over it because there are a lot of mysterious hairs.
The rooms are clean and the parking is on sight. A small shopping plaza is located within walking distance from the downstairs lobby near the gift shop. Its got a bar and a dining area with a breakfast buffet in the morning. Starbucks is also within walking distance.the rooms need a bit of updating along with the amenities offered such as the pool. Overall it was a good stay.
The rooms were excellent but everything else about this hotel is pretty much terrible. I can only blame myself for thinking problems I read on previous reviews would have been addressed. Elevators are still not fixed and would randomly go out of service. Would sometimes wait 10-15 minutes or more to get in a packed elevator that moves like a turtle and feels like a swamp! And if the elevators weren’t stuffed with guests, we would deal with being stuck in the corner with hotel staff and baskets of dirty towels. I love Sheraton hotels and frequently stay at the Westin down the road, but I would never stay here again!
This hotel made me feel at home from the minute I stepped into the lobby. The checkin was smooth and efficient; loving the service I received, and the entire staff was helpful! The rooms are decorated beautifully in relaxing colors, and the bed was so heavenly I didnt want to get out of it!! Even though it was only an overnight, I thoroughly enjoyed this stay!
We only stayed 2nights & didnt use pool or exercise facility at all. King bed room was cozy & comfy although carpet & side chair noticeably worn. There was, however, a chemical kind of odor in elevator & hallways. It was especially troublesome for one in our party in room. Staff was helpful, offered change room, maintenance came immediately when reported. Windows on this rooms side building could not be opened. Turned on fan which helped, and guest remained in original room. Bar & restaurant fine. This place tied to convention center so feel of place more geared to that. Again, Really nice staff & bed/bath comfy, cozy, clean. We werent in room much so for our purposes, good and good rate.
So VERY disappointed with this hotel. Its a Sheraton so one would think on the name alone, it would be nicer. To be fair, there were signs in the hotel asking for patience as they are remodeling & noises & odors may be experienced. Our bathroom smelled like sewage and the hallways & elevator always had foul smells as well. On the elevator topic, it shook from side to side when in use. What confused me also was that the website said all remodeling was completed in December of 2017 but signs at the hotel said it was currently occurring. We never actually saw construction though. Also, one of the days that we were there, when the housekeeping staff had ALREADY cleaned for the day, the staff returned and entered without knocking. This scared the heck out of us so we kept the Do Not Disturb placard on the remainder of our stay.Parking was awful! There was not enough for everyone so this left people becoming creative at the end of the night. The ONLY two saving graces were the close proximity to convention center (where my conference was being held) & pleasant staff.
Had a lovely 2 night stay. Room was clean and very comfortable. I loved the bed - couldve curled up in in for hours. Staff were polite and helpful but also unobtrusive which is a plus. I didnt use room service but was impressed that the prices were not as high as some other Sheraton hotels. Nice to see a fridge in the room that I dont have to pay extra for - they are a standard feature of all hotels in my country (Australia). I will happily return here on future visits to Pasadena
As of this writing, the Sheraton is in the midst of renovations. The upside is better rates at a great central location steps from the convention centre. The downside is some mess and very, very slow elevators. Our room had a view of a wall, and that was fine...we were barely in our room anyway. The beds are comfy and the room is pleasantly decorated. Bathrooms are nicely appointed. I would stay here again.
Before staying here I read some online reviews that were not favourable. We stayed anyway because we had starpoints to use & I liked the location. We found every part of the hotel ( including parking garage) clean & comfortable. Every staff person was friendly, helpful & prompt. The shuttle was a pleasant surprise as we utilised it more than I had expected. The place may be a little outdated but I understand some remodelling is planned. I suggest a pool jacuzzi in those plans. Overall our stay was very nice. Thank you.
Got to the hotel at 5:30PM, trying to check-in. I was told room is not available for another hour. Reminded them that the check in time is 3:00PM and asked how come room was not available and was told sorry, 3:00PM check in is not a guaranteed. I was asked to talk to the manager and the manager stated we have room available but its in the first floor and it was not my preference so therefore I had to wait. I had to explained to the manager several times that I have no other choice but to take the first floor and the room on the first floor was not available. Than the manager said, oh you booked a double bed and we dont have double beds are not available and the only one we have left is on the first floor and it will be available in about an hour. Manager said sorry, there is a huge concert and all the hotels are fully booked and offered to allow us to cancel our reservation if we would like. I thought that was extremely insincere knowing the fact the entire Pasadena, CA area was fully booked and allowing me to cancel my booking. Finally, I was offered a king bed room and a roll-a-way bed which I had no choice but to take. The hotel is under renovation, they have a total of 3 elevators but only one is working. Once the roll-a-way bed was in the room, there was absolutely no where to walk since the room was way too small. This has to be a fire code violation. Regardless the bed was uncomfortable, the room was not very clean. I would definitely avoid his hotel.
Ive stayed here several times over the past few years. This is the first time I received a Platinum Upgrade. So kudos!EXCELLENT check-in process and very welcoming Front Desk night staff. Platinum recognition was superb. The parking facility is very convenient. Its a breeze to get up to the lobby and it doesnt have the scary feel of many hotel parking garages. The elevators, lobby and public areas are very nice. My room was a bi-level room on the first floor. It has a really nice patio to just sit and enjoy coffee in the morning. The patio faces a condo building, but its really not an issue. The room was spotlessly clean. The only real issues were the smell permeating from the first-floor hallway and the carpet. I can only describe the smell as a moldy smell. The carpet throughout the hallways and my room were in desperate need of replacement.All-in-all...Ill definitely stay here again. Its a short walk to anything you want to do in Pasadena AND the staff make up for some of the minor needed cosmetic fixes.
I highly recommend this hotel for several reasons: the location is great the staff is amazing, the club lounge staff is exceptional,Adina and Jennifer welcome you to the lounge and cater to your every need, the free shuttle service is awesome and the hotels decor is beautiful. The beds and lines are very comfortable and the rooms are large. The hotel is very clean and inviting....I look forward to my next stay.
We picked this hotel because it was attached to the convention center and it worked out well. Its a short walk to lots of shopping and restaurants, too. The room was clean, and we appreciated the desk and easy chair. But for four people, the beds were not OK. (Double beds are hard to share with anyone but an intimate partner, esp when theyre soft so you roll towards the middle.) And, despite reserving for four people we only had 3 sets of towels, 2 cups, etc. Just not enough supplies. Even though we were out of the room all day, at 5:30 pm I had to call to get our room made up. Breakfast was very good quality, but not worth the high price of the bufffet; it wouldve been nice to see a menu with some lower cost items. (Single item prices are so high that the buffet is really the only option.) Day 2, we ate across the street instead. Over all, this hotel was fine, but a few changes couldve made the experience great.
I have stayed many times at this property and do appreciate the friendly staff, and coziness of this property. I booked a room with typical expectations and had several “surprises” both good and not so good. This hotel is undergoing a renovation. There was no notice on the website, nor did I get the typical email disclosing that a renovation was in process with reduced amenities. The upside is that the updated rooms are very nicely appointed and fresh. Beds are super comfy, with great linens however the Starwood flat pillow syndrome still survives. A faux pas of the upgrade is the air conditioning units. They are window type units and are noisy. Common areas are nice, but the hallways behind the elevators are extremely dark and, in my opinion, very uncomfortable especially from a safety standpoint. The temporary bar is just plain unappealing (not commenting on staff only on the bar facility) We didn’t give it a second look. A huge benefit of this hotel is the 27/7 club room access which is not available. Breakfast buffet breakfast is offered downstairs. I had a need for the business center, which is also not available. On the date of my stay the hotel did not seem very busy. Upon check in the lobby was empty as was the check in desk. I have always found it odd that the desk is typically unmanned and a clerk will appear from behind a wall. Upon check in I confirmed that I was to have a North facing room as South facing rooms can be a bit noisy as they face a driveway and balconies of a high rise apartment building.. Additionally my platinum preference are “no connecting door.” As a platinum member and was told that I was “upgraded” to a North facing room on the 3rd floor. I arrived to my SOUTH facing room inclusive of a connecting door. I was only there one night and fortunately it was quiet, until the early morning when the renovation crew started hammering away at approximately 7AM. So much for sleeping in on a short get away. In all fairness I really do like this hotel. I just feel that the best solution of the issues I experienced would be disclosure as to the renovations that are in process. I do look forward to seeing the fully completed renovations. We will be back, even during the renovation, but will have set expectations.
The front desk staff was very helpful and friendly. First of all, I got upgraded room to the Club level due to my SPG gold level and stayed there for my birthday. In addition, they offered a free birthday dinner during my stay. The location of the hotel is very convenience to the downtown Pasadena with plenty of restaurants and shops. However, the hotel rooms and the hallway area need to be updated. In conclusion, the overall experience was very pleasant.
Work travel takes me to a lot of different hotels with a number of different chains. I dont often stay at Sheraton, but perhaps thats a good thing after last weekends experience. A work colleague and I shared a 2 BR room in which we could barely move. The bathroom was incredibly tiny with the vanity being large enough only to hold the over-sized sink bowl. There was nowhere to put toiletries or even a simple toothbrush. There was no room to put an open suitcase, let alone two ... and every time we moved around in the room, we had to walk sideways to get past each other. The in-hotel restaurant that we were told would be open all day long was not open for lunch on at least one day of our stay. We were told we could get food in Charlies Bar ... which ended up being an incredibly frustrating experience. Various staff rotated in an out and it took us over 40 minutes to get a couple paninis and a bowl of pasta (and we were the only ones in the bar area). The food was delicious, but the service was less than stellar. Combined with elevators that were not working well and due for an overhaul (according to staff), causing us to frequently need to take the stairs to and from the 4th floor, I have serious doubts that Ill be booking at a Sheraton, at least not this one, anytime soon.
Hotel is currently under renovations, which is more than fine as we knew that when we booked. However, we stayed in a poorly planned newly renovated room. Shower and sink had two temperatures uncomfortably hot and scald your skin off. Only mirrors in room were horrifyingly lit and attached to the bathroom. No way to get ready elsewhere. With the extremely hot water, no bathroom fan and no additional mirrors it made for a nightmare getting ready in the morning. Also, the two working elevators were never available. Multiple trips up and down the staircase with bags. Temporary restaurant space, understaffed and poorly staged. Couldnt even get breakfast the second morning as they said tables needed to be cleaned even though the dining room was practically empty, due to lack of servers.
Great hotel. Staff was very accommodating. I have a special needs son who has eating issues. The hotel was quick to be sure we had access to a microwave which I am very appreciative of and we will be booking our stay here again next year for the convention we attended.
The room was fine and the service was excellent but likely they were understaffed. We arrived 3 hours late and our room wasnt ready. Only 1 elevator was working and we had a 5am fire alarm (thankfully a false alarm). Some upgrades are definitely needed and right staffing levels. They did do their best to make up for all the inconveniences.
This is a very nice hotel, the staff are very attentive, and I will likely stay here again. But it has a few quirks to be aware of. I was surprised by my Starwood Preferred room (#125). Upon entering, there are five steps down from the corridor. The closet and bath are on the same level as the corridor and the bedroom is on a lower level. This makes the ceiling in the bedroom nice and high, but requires navigating steps all the time. The room has a large patio, but the patio, and the view from the room, look directly into a blank wall, giving the feeling of being in a basement (because the adjacent pool is up at the corridor level and the room is sunken). Not horrible for an overnight, red-eye stay with the curtains closed, but definitely not pleasant or inviting if you are in the room during the daylight hours. So be aware of this set of rooms. I am sure that other parts of the hotel are much nicer. Also, there isnt valet parking. The self-parking is very convenient, but it is in the same garage as the Pasadena Convention Center. If there is an event going on, parking can be scarce. And entering or leaving the garage can take considerable time if you happen to coincide with the end of an event.
PROs•Great Location – near many restaurants and late night bars•Very good staff•Clean rooms•Great air conditioningCONs•Bathroom door makes it difficult for 2 people - door blocks room entry and closet•Bathroom is very small. •Slow elevators (better than prior years but still much slower than other properties)•Executive lounge lacks the ambiance of other Sheraton and Marriott properties (Marriott London Canary Wharf, Sheraton Charles de Gaulle, Montreal Marriott, etc.) •Breakfast in the executive lounge is more like eating in a low-end cafeteria and not like similar Marriott properties that are more suited to Titanium members•Parking shared with the Pasadena Auditorium becomes overly crowded (and sometimes full) whenever there are major events at the Pasadena Auditorium
I called directly to book my room. They told me there were no refunds and my card would be charged immediately if I wanted the best price. Then when I checked in they told me my card would be charged on check out. When I checked out they wanted over $100 more than they told me my total would be when I made my reservation. Thats after they added $20 per day for parking! It was a mess to get them to honor the rate that I had booked for and had the confirmation for. So glad I had that as proof. There is no breakfast if any kind. I called to see if there was a microwave I could use. Nope. There was a dog barking daily in the room down from me. I have stayed here multiple times and it feels like with the remodel they threw out all the hospitality too. Ill be staying somewhere else after 7 years of staying here for a work conference.
I stayed here during the 2019 AIGA Design Conference held next door at the Pasadena Convention Center. The hotel was conveniently located and extremely pleasant. My room was stylish and immaculate, the food was surprisingly good, and the staff was wonderful. I also liked how the hotel was walking distance to a large variety of restaurants. If I ever need to return to Pasadena, I would consider staying here again.
Very small bathrooms and counter space is non existent. Beds are very comfortable. The 70s want their furnishings back. The air conditioner drowns out the noise. Staff is very nice. Entrance and exit is hard to find from above and below ground. Good but not impressed.
Poor experience overall. The hotel was overbooked on our first night despite my business reservation so I had to find my way over to the nearby Courtyard Marriott for one night and then change back. The Sheraton breakfast buffet area is tiny with few tables and many people are forced to eat on couches or armchairs with no space for plates. The buffet itself lacks variety with only bland plain bagels, no bread selection and very little fruit. Finally, uncollected room service trays with dishes door in the hallways for several hours.
Location is pretty good. Not too far from stuff, but still far enough to rest properly. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Restroom mirrors have a really nice ring light for the ladies. Service was good. The elevator buttons and the elevator itself was wonky (as in willy wonka... buttons were turned the wrong way and it was a bouncy ride).
Nothing ruins a visit like encountering a rude person at the front desk. I made arrangements for my daughter to attend an event at the Pasadena Convention Center. The hotel is located steps away, perfect! My daughter did not have a credit card yet. I was not attending so I was trying to figure out the best way to deal with payment, I had made the reservation using my card but she is not a signer. I called the hotel and asked if I could get a prepaid visa card for my daughter and was old YES she could. I thought perfect! Problem solved. Having said that, I completely understand why a hotel would not accept these cards. They would have no recourse for damages or other unforseen expenses. I got twice what she needed to cover the room but the hotel would have no way of knowing this. I was told they accepted them, so I thought she was good.Upon arrival the front desk employee was RUDE to her and treated her like she was trying to pay with some insulting, sub-par currency. She was paniced and embarrased. Luckily her friend was able to use their card. Again, in hindsight I should have thought that through that this idea was not a good one but thats why I called and asked first.
Stayed 4 nights, 31 October through 4 November, 2013. Hotel completely sold out for weekend, yet one would never know from the personal and prompt attention we received. Two rather significant issues at check-in were immediately resolved by Victoria, night manager. Juan, wait staff & bar, was a true pleasure as was Nicholas, one of the porters/ shuttle drivers.Rooms were well appointed and quiet. Problem with closet door coming off track was immediately resolved. I would, however, suggest installation of bathroom exhaust fans as well as the ability to set air conditioning to at least 65 degrees- it is currently locked at 70, a bit warm for my preferences.Hotel is centrally located in very safe neighborhood. Very easy to reach many attractions and restaurants on foot.If flying out of LAX, allow at least 1.5 hours drive time & car rental return.I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the Pasadena area.
I love staying at the Sheraton because its very close to many shop and amazing restaurants ( walking distance). The manager Mehir is one of the most caring people Ive ever met. He makes your check in very fast and enjoyable. He is informative and has great customer service skills ( he is the main reason why i keep returning) .. Thank you for your wonderful customer service skills and all your help. I would recommend staying here :) FYI gift shop closes VERY EARLY. Bring your own snacks!
The elevator can and WILL take up to 7 minutes to arrive at the second floor. This has happened multiple times. If the elevator arrives and is not full you may get to enjoy the wonderously turbulent ride which starts and ends with a sudden jolt. The staircase behind the elevator is very dirty and leads directly outside, but Id recommend it over the elevator. Especially if you get motion sick or lose your balance easily. When you finally get to your expensive room youll notice that they arent all the same size. We needed two rooms and got one that was 4 feet wider than the other which was somewhat nice for rollaway bed we needed. The walls are pretty thin so earplugs are necessary for light sleepers such as myself. On the plus side the rooms are fairly bright at night so you wont need to bring a nightlight. If you want to put icing on the cake... Or salt in the wound... we didnt have any towels in our room when we got here or a microwave. I would put this hotel on par with motel 6.
11/1-11/3/14, was my fourth stay in this hotel this year. The key card machine was out of order and we were not issued a keycard for my entire stay. Instead, there were suppose to be three employees to manage the five floors and let the guest into their rooms. Each time I needed to go to my room, I would have to call or go to the lobby and let them know I needed access. One time I left my room and I realized I forgot something as soon as I closed the door. I had to wait for 10 minutes to get back in my room which I was almost late for my meeting. Also, since there was no safe in the room, I had to take my computer and valuables with me even when I was not working. Hopefully there were no security issues during this malfunction, but I felt that I needed to double lock the doors while I slept in case someone opened my room by mistake.Only once did I see the staff have a list of people staying to cross check before letting me in my room. To their credit, the staff managing the five floors did the best they could. The hotel should have provided at least 5 staff people to manage the 5 floors. There was no offers, such as a drink, appetizers, star points to compensate for our inconvenience.
This hotel has been undergoing a renovation for a very long time, and they use this excuse to justify too many shortcomings. I recently stayed there and was exceptionally disappointed in basic services like the elevators not working and the unwillingness of management to properly address the situation despite my requests over several days and the obvious complaints from other guests. One elevator for service staff and guests is just not proper; I dont recommend anyone in a wheelchair, or who has children in strollers test their patience at this hotel by competing with a laundry cart for space or having to wait several turns to finally get a space. The general staff knows the situation and apologizes at every turn, but management refuses to communicate officially and appears to have told front desk staff not to mention it at check-in. The location is good, but there are other choices (like the nearby Westin) which I would recommend.
My room smells like moldy towels. In fact, the entire hallway to my room smelled like mildew. My coworkers on other floors had the same complaint of their hallways. The decor is very tacky - looks like a cheap motel. In dire need of updates to carpeting, wallpaper, and curtains. Cannot believe the rooms cost the same as those in the Downtown LA Sheraton! I was not presented with the option to purchase breakfast, but I heard bad things about the offerings anyway. There should be triple points for anyone who stays here, as well as free wireless for unlimited devices and free breakfast to make up for the shortcomings. They obviously do not have keyless entry installed, but that was true of some much nicer Sheratons as well. Ive been to four Sheratons. This one looks like a cheap hourly motel compared to the other ones. I was completely taken aback when I entered my room.
Going under some renovations, but room was nice. Heater in room didnt work, was offered new room, we declined and was offered more blankets but they never came. Told management about the situation upon checkout and was given room discount. Staff was friendly and hotel was located within walking distance to many shops and restaurants.
One of the best hotels I have ever been in. I usually dont sleep well in hotels, but this bed was very comfortable and the pillows were just right. The room I got on the 2nd floor actually had a terrace that overlooked the outdoor swimming pool. The staff was genuinely friendly and helpful. They also had free parking.
This was the 10th or 11th time we have stayed at the Pasadena Sheraton. And I think this was the most enjoyable visit yet! Staff are beyond courteous, always considerate and accommodating. From our warm welcome at SPG Recption (thank you Cherry), breakfast birthday cake in the Club Lounge (thank you Adina), and swimming in the pool, our stay was superb. And we love the newly remodeled rooms!
Generally I am pleased with this hotel and the service. This weekend however was frustrating. It was triple digit heat and my room air was not working. I told the front desk at 11 AM when I left expecting it to be fixed when I returned later. At 4:30 when I came back it was even hotter(85) when the air had been running the whole time. I called down and was told the manager would call me back. After waiting 15 min I went down to the desk. The clerk looked at me like they had no idea but got to work on it right away. It took about an hour as they replaced the unit. She did give me a pass to the club room so I could wait but I really wanted to change clothes and go for a swim. She called to tell me it would take about 20 min as I waited so I went up and changed so I could swim. It did function after that. It wouldn’t have been so bad however only one elevator was working and I was on the fifth floor. There was a large convention in town and people were getting on the elevator and riding down just to be on. Checking out took 20 min just to get down at which point the line was ten or more deep. They had three people working but it was clear it would take too long. I left and luckily discovered the app checkout. I will stay again as this was unusual but I generally am asked as an SPG member if I want points or a drink voucher. That didn’t happen this time either. Hopefully elevator problems will be solved before the next time I stay.
The staff at Sherton Pasadena was extremely attentive to our travel needs. When we arrived at 7:45pm at the Owners Lounge to grab a munchy from the long journey, they had run out of Filafauls. Moses offered us different choices of food he would make up for us; I picked the chickenwings served with celery and french fries, it was just right. The owners club breakfast was a nice touch to wonderful stay at the Sheraton Pasadena. I stay at alot of Marrotts and now I have the Sherton in my arsenal of Hotels to use. Thank you staff at the Sheraton.
Just back from the Rose Bowl. Great location for the parade. Everyone we dealt with was perfect and very accommodating. We had club level and the breakfast was fine. We werent around for the happy hour. The hotel is a tad outdated but this snobby traveler was fine with it. It was very clean and the rooms were really big. Parking was $18 with in and out privileges. We ate at the bar one night and the food was fine. Cocktails were a tad high. ($20 for two shots of Baileys. Seems a bit much). If we had energy after the Rose Bowl game we wouldnt have eaten at the bar. Plenty of other options in the area.Pasadena is one of my fave cities. Its darling and quaint and very clean.Id stay here again without hesitation.
Great staff and lots of helpful service. This is important since this hotel has lots of problems. Electric plugs in bathroom did not work. They did fix this after I called the front desk. Water was either very hot or cold. Really poor lighting in bathroom and slippery shower tiles. They took out the bathtubs. Worst of all are the elevators. I had hoped they would be replaced during their recent renovation. During a 7 day stay I often waited 3 to 12 minutes for an elevator. Everyone was grousing about it. Renovation is a poor attempt at a facelift. No counter space in regular bathrooms. Some in the suites. Very shoddy decor and exposed pipes in the bathroom. Hallways are creepy with almost no lighting. Big ugly seams running across ceilings. I am going to the Marriott next week.
Hotel was nice enough to upgrade us to a club room however it was a connecting room and we ended up dealing with our neighbors TV blaring most of the evening/morning.When we went to get the continental breakfast the lounge was totally packed, not worth fighting through all the people so we didnt get anything. Later in the morning, went back to lounge to get a cold water on the way out but all 30-40 water bottles had just been put in the fridge and were warm. All in all, would have been much happier in regular room.
Overall, it was a very typical stay of what you would expect from a Sheraton. The room was nice, beds comfortable and did enjoy sometime by the pool. The only downside to our stay was that the 3rd and 4th floors were under construction and after a morning of touring, coming back to the room to relax was impossible because of all the noise be made, so we had just decided to use the pool. But even at the pool you could here the construction. So to me it is 3 stars, definitely werent expecting the construction, and notice was given when booking the room over the phone.
For the price paid, it was just average value. Location is good. Parking is expensive at $18 ; it was not clear to me whether it would be cheaper to pay the convention rate for night for $10 directly to parking instead of hotel but front desk said it would be charged twice once past midnight. do not know if that is true. room was excellent; had fridge but no microwave. ask for room overlooking the front or Cordova St and not back or convention center. Great location. Expensive breakfast with average food. The staff did what they were supposed to but were not friendly or helpful. For example, there was NEW YORK TIMES at front desk and I asked for one and checkout clerk grudgingly and reluctantly gave me one. My starwood rewards membership was never acknowledged and i was denied an upgrade to club floor even though i had called earlier to request one. I found the bed comfortable
I had the pleasure of working with Sherry. She had a positive, friendly, can-do attitude. She helped make a last minute request of an early check-in happen even with a full house from the night before. She provided excellent communication and even called me several times to confirm that I had made it safely. She is a great representation of the Marriott family. She created an amazing experience for both me and my friend. Cant wait to come back. Also, the guys in driving the shuttle were AWESOME!!! Thanks you all for going above and beyond for me.
My stay here back in October 2011, restored confidence that there is at least one hotel in the states that knows how to provide excellent service in the hotel industry. Because of this I will seek out Sheratons whenever I travel away from home.I travel a lot and often both here in the states and Europe and I always thought that maybe I was just spoiled by the German and Swiss standards of service I always receive when in Europe until I stayed here in October. I was so pleased to find a hotel that provided the same excellent customer service from the front desk all the way to the housekeeping department. My needs were anticipated and the staff at the front desk went above and beyond in helping me locate a good shoe store, offering a coupon and getting me there as well. They pick up from rail station and drop off as well. Never an attitude just great help and a smile. The restaurant was wonderful and the staff was incredible, for me rivaling even many of the Europe places I have eaten at. They anticipated all my needs and more without bugging you as can happened if too much attention is paid. There was no bugging here just great service in the food, personality, ambiance and price. I had read somewhere else before staying here that the buffet was too meager for the price. The price added to your room was only $5 a day! I dont know what else the person who complained expected but there was a full spread of great food and many choices. Not sure what more they were expected, seems they just wanted to complain about something I guess. I was very pleased however.I just cant say even good but true things about this Sheraton and would stay here again in a heart beat and I highly recommend it to anyone who wants great priced, high quality customer care, great eats and bar accommodations away from home.Again a personal thank you to all the staff that made my stay very pleasant and comfortable I greatly appreciated it and will be back when I come to Pasadena again.
We stayed here to attend an event at The Rose Bowl. The staff was nice, the room was clean, and we had no problem walking to and from the Rose Bowl. The front desk offered us the shuttle to get about halfway which was very thoughtful. I would stay here again. The club floor has a decent room with a very nice coffee / espresso machine!
Incredible staff - friendly and attentive. Love the fact that they will take you anywhere within a 3 mile radius - quick response and friendly drivers. Beds were super comfortable and they have a great gym. Loved the stay and cant wait to return.Great location for Convention Center -(outside the back door) and Dodger Stadium - (quick lyft)
Sheraton was just fine; that is about it. Nothing fabulous accept Adina in the Club Lounge now she was excellent and really made you feel welcome. The room was fine, the valet service fine...great for a short trip. The price was very fair so I really have no complaints.
Its a nice hotel, but my room was right in front of the elevators and thus very noisy due to the people getting in and out.Apart from that, the room is at the roof where all heatpump machines are, with a constant noise as a result. The shower needs 10 min to get warm water (is ok once you know this). The pool was unavailable, which is understandable during renovation, but this should be mentioned prior to the reservation.
This is mine and my husbands first time in Pasadena. I was here early March for a conference. I had a good time in this hotel. Breakfast was good (stay here for 3 nights) and each day there is at least 1 different item on the breakfast buffet. The staff were very friendly. I use the hotel shuttle service and I had no problem to be on time at certain places. The bed, Oh My, The bed is so comfy!!! One thing, the exterior of the hotel a bit outdated but the interior is very clean. One plus thing was they let me use the business center to print out our boarding passes. Thank you for the good experience!
Customer service was nice. We booked rooms on our travel card website but couldnt include our spg number on the reservation but they added it at the hotel. Rooms were clean but a little small. There is no continental breakfast and you have to pay separate for overnight parking.
This hotel is easy to navigate, from the garage level to the restaurants to the town itself. The staff if helpful, the gym is nicely equipped. The club level is so nice for breakfast. The elevators were a bit slow, but that made for good conversation with fellow travelers. We will check in here again.
My stay at this property was alright. The room was nice, the beds good, however the temperature in the room never really cooled down. A very average visit. The surprise came at check out, an extra $40 a night for the business upgrade. This upgrade fee was never discussed when I checked in. So I contacted the hotel directly to see why and how this could be rectified. I had the mis-pleasure of speaking with the manager about this and was told how wrong I was and that the employee was correct. I have never been treated so poorly by a hotel chain. I will rethink using this property in the future.
Best Location! I cannot stress this enough. This Sheraton is in the heart of Pasadena and youre walking distance to many different areas. If you have an event at the Pasadena convention center. Your room will be just a couple minutes walk into the place. Plenty of parking as well. They do charge $15 so just be aware. Other than that, my room was really comfortable, clean and very easy to access. My room had a king size bed with high ceilings which added to the roominess to the room. The AC worked perfectly with no issues. I would stay here again for sure.
Seriously, I have stayed at better motels. Yes, MOTELS!! The room did not justify the $price or better yet $morethanfirstprice we were charged for the room. Yes, they double charged us and the second time was more than the first. The room was small. We reserved a King Size bed and got 2 doubles. My husband is over 6ft tall and his feet were hanging off the edge. They didnt say there was a parking fee at all when registering. The carpets were disgusting. The beds were just thrown together. The bathroom was disgusting and had stains on the walls. There were no liners in the trash cans. I was forced to use WiFi instead of being hardwired, which I hate, because they were working on upgrading their system. I always have to say something good, which was really hard for me this time around but the shower had good water pressure and plenty of hot water and the I loved the pillows. Thats it. The elevators took forever and the workers used the same ones to carry the dirty linens and cleaners as the guests used. Although the staff was nice, I really dont like riding in an elevator with dirty linens. The parking structure is a nightmare. In the event of an emergency, good luck getting out of there. Oh another good thing is that you can leave the nightmare for a bit and enjoy an outdoors shopping area with a theater and restaurants. Seriously, we have stayed in better hotels for less.
I recently spent 4 nights at the Sheraton Pasadena with my teenage daughter. She was attending a conference. Before I arrived, the front desk managers Michael and Jimmy, were both a huge help in my planning process for my stay. While at the hotel I found everyone to be very welcoming and professional. We upgraded to Club Level which I would highly recommend. The continental breakfast includes hard boiled eggs, yogurt, fresh cut fruits, bagels and much more. The evening happy hour included wine and beer along with a cheese platter and a hot appetizer. Complimentary soda and water are available 24/7.We used the free shuttle service many times a day for my daughter to go back and forth for the conference and I went shopping. It was so convenient since we did not have a car. This is not a fancy hotel, but they do a great job.
The Sheraton Pasadena hotel was excellent. We stayed here because I was taking my daughter to a kpop concert located at the civic auditorium which is right in back of the hotel. It was so convenient to just walk back to our room at the end of the concert. My only complaint was that construction was being done so it was a hassle having to go through the parking garage getting dropped off and picked up by our airport shuttle. But going out everyday was easier because there was a different door to use to get out.
I have stayed at the Sheraton Pasadena Hotel every time I have visited the Pasadena area for years now. It has good food (in-room dining and restaurant), is within walking distance to great shopping and restaurants in the area, and is convenient to all of the area attractions. If you have an event or meeting at the convention center, that is within easy walking distance, as well. The rooms are immaculate, smell wonderful, and the beds are comfortable. As a woman travelling alone, I have always felt safe here and the staff is very friendly and helpful. I highly recommend that you stay here!
I stayed here for one night and conducted a seminar in one of the conference rooms. The staff was friendly and helpful upon arrival, giving me suggestions for dinner, for example and directions to things in Pasadena. The room was large, relatively quiet, and comfortable with nice soft pillows and a comfortable mattress. Everything in the room worked well, the small refrigerator was quiet. It seemed silly to me, though, to charge $9 for internet access. It was a bit of a challenge keeping the conference room temperature comfortable.
Location is within walking distance of main areas in old town Pasadena. The rooms are up to date and comfortable. When we requested service, it was readily available. The only negative that I could say was their elevator system. It was very slow... sometimes waiting 5 minutes just to get on. But overall, a nice stay.
Ive stayed here several times when the Westin has been sold out. Its not really fair to compare it to the Westin, but this place is tired. Its not horrible or a roach motel, but it needs an energy drink. Some pepping up. Very dark, not a lot of light in the rooms, and some strange smells. Also, it is not a good sign when my cell phone connection can work faster online than their wi-fi. Its basically only good for email. Webpages with any pictures or graphics are so slow to load. Forget about any kind of streaming video or music. I had to call a tech to get my computer to connect which lasted long enough to write this review. The hotel has a bar, which is nice, so I can get out of my room, drink, and make the stay pass faster.
This was great place to stay. Cconvenience to the Pasadena Convention Center, where the SCaLE conference was held, was literally feet away. The staff of the hotel were top notch. They always answered questions, were informative and helpful in every way. We were located in a very quiet area of the hotel, which we appreciated greatly. The desk clerk on check-in, Carly, was super helpful. I would recommend this hotel to anyone coming to the Pasadena area. All services to the city were accessible, and the free shuttle to restaurants nearby was great.
I have stayed at this Sheraton before and it was fine. I understand the hotel was under construction, but the way it was handled was extremely inconvenient. As this apparently was a busy time for the hotel, you would think you would do the construction in a way that made it easier for your guests, or at another time when it was less busy with conventions.I had requested late check out three months prior, as we were there to take the CA Bar Exam, and I had booked under the Bar Exam group rate. During the bar exam, there is a lunch break, but if you dont have a room to stay in and eat your lunch, you are forced to find an uncomfortable area...like the hotel lobby...to find a not so quiet area to eat your lunch. This was just one of the many issues we had. We were not allowed late check out unless we wanted to pay over $100 in fees. With the room already being expensive and a $37/day tourism fee on top, it was not feasible to pay another $100+ dollars. But lets go back to the beginning...Due to the hotel being under construction, you cannot pull up in front and drop a person or bags off. You have to go into the underground parking garage. When we arrived, there was no valet person, or bellman to help you. So we had to park a decent amount away, being that this parking is also shared for the large Paseo shopping center and the Pasadena convention center, and the parking is always very busy and full, and carry all of the luggage in, Which would have been decent, except that on the day we checked out, I noticed that a bellman/valet was waiting outside below. He and his stand were not there when we checked in, so we were in result shafted and looked down upon. Our second night at the hotel, we had food delivered. Once again we could not get outside to the front of the hotel, and the front desk receptionist told me I had to meeting them in the underground parking structure. Which I had no idea how to direct the delivery person there. I ended up having to walk through the parking structure and up to the street level to find the delivery person. Again, under different circumstance, this should have been decent, but because of the stress of the bar exam, and the hotel food being overpriced and mediocre at best - weve eaten here last time, hence why we ordered out- we were forced to find alternatives for food. By the time I was able to flag down our delivery driver, the food was cold and I had to hike through the underground parking to get back to our room.
We arrived to the hotel with 3 sleeping kids. We asked in advance for 2 roll aways to be made up and ready as we were told there was no couch bed. They told us to go check the room for our selves, where there was only one roll away and we were told they didnt have more. The phone didnt work. We had to call the front desk from our cell, They asked us why we werent using the couch bed. We told them we were told there wasnt one. We open up the couch bed and it has someone else old socks and shampoo bottles in it. We call back and end up with a room full of people waking up all of our kids. We finally get everyone back to sleep and settled. Bathroom was not very clean. In the morning room service hung up on us saying they were too busy. Headed down to the restaurant where they were not very friendly and also had a long wait. When my husband called the manager to let her know about our stay she was also unfriendly and simply said they would look into. We stayed at the hotel for convenience for an event and it ended up totally not worth it.Staff showed a total lack of common sense, initiative, or concern for customer experience. This hotel should not be part of the spg chain as it doesnt hold up to their usual brand standards.
Best hotel in its class, compared to the Westin Pasadena and Hilton Pasadena...why??? easy...the reason is this is the ONLY hotel out of these 3 hotels that offers a lounge! Yes, the place where you have breakfast, free water/coffee, and a place to seat 24/7 (well, except breakfast, of course, breakfast only in the morning).Ive stayed at this hotel for 10 days, between 3 rooms. The first room on the first floor is a bit like a loft, if you dont feel like walking up a set of stairs, then you could try to get a room on the first floor.second floor to me, is the best floor, as it has balcony, and the gym is on the 2nd floor!the entire hotel has been newly renovated, and I really do like it!
Stayed in a two bed room. Good clean modern hotel. Like how you can forgo housekeeping for $5 voucher. Small fitness center. Small pool (2.5 ft deep at the shallow end?) Cozy hotel bar. Only complaint is parking for $18 a night and the garage is shared with other businesses and fills up quickly.
First off, the parking was very difficult to find. The was a stain on the comforter in the room. There was ongoing issues with the heater/air conditioner. The room I was given (I was told was an upgrade), had 5 stairs to get to the area where the beds were. It was very inconvenient to have the bathroom upstairs. I would not stay at this hotel unless I was attending a conference at the convention center. Its overpriced for what you get.
I stayed here for 3 nights during an expo at their convention center. It seemed like the same staff work everyday at multiple positions. At one point, the woman who served me a drink at the bar, also had served me breakfast and brought room service to my room. I mean compliments to the people that were on duty but it seemed like they were running a little short staffed. Food was very good, rooms were large and updated in spite of what the hotel looks like outside. (Old Pasadena). Bottom line: hotel was above average and Im sure if youre vacationing this is more than adequate just seemed like they werent prepared for an event they were holding.
Just because I have it three starts doesnt mean this place is bad. I stay in really nice hotels regularly so this is just me being spoiled. It a a nice place, the free shuttle is legit and the staff is friendly. No complaints, rooms are nice the beds are clean. I stayed with the king size on the top floor and its dope. Hope I can stay here again.
This comment is directed not just at the Sheraton Pasadena Hotel, but also the business practices of the Marriott Corporation in general. I made a reservation online in late June 2020 for a stay in September 2020. I understand that COVID-19 could likely alter my business travel plans, but the Sheraton was offering a discounted rate with a full refund if I had to cancel, so I made the reservation. They had no trouble immediately charging my VISA $1000 for my reservation. A week later...one week later...my conference was cancelled. I called to cancel my reservation to get my full refund, and was told I had to wait up to 90 days to get my money back. 90 DAYS! I guess I should have read the fine print. Ok, shame on them, but more shame on me for not paying closer attention. Fast forward to the end of the 90 days...and I mean on the 90th day,...I get a an email that my refund has been processed. Except, it hasnt. Nothing back on my card. I call.. and I am told because of COVID and the hotel not being staffed right now, I have to wait up to 30 more days for the refund to process! A multi-billion dollar company has to hold on to my $1000 for 120 days to survive! I will never do business again with Marriott, and while that may not make a difference to them, if this review helps one person avoid the hassle I have gone through, then it will be worth it.
I stayed in the same hotel 3 years ago and I was quite satisfied with everything. This weekend, there were a lot of areas that need to improve: access card system was down during our entire stay; there was dog pillow and stuff left in our room; hotel looks old and needs renovation; internet access was not available Saturday and Sunday. By the time the 2nd tech support called me, we were about to check out. There were several families who stayed with you over the weekend because of a wedding. My nephew who had 1-night reservation did not even get to stay at all because the first room given to him was very hot and the alternate room still had guests at 10:00 pm last Nov 1.Sheraton is a brand hotel chain so it is very disappointing to see this hotel in this state.
This hotel is only rated as a 3 star hotel but it has the same amenities and facilities like a 4star hotel. The only reason why I am having trouble with giving it 5 stars is because they are in the middle of renovations and certain things were limited as the restaurant menu which was very limited. But the rest of the staff at the Hotel went out of their way to be very accommodating free internet free shuttle service with much information to local spots one of the attendance at work there was Japanese and I really wanted authentic Japanese Cuisine and I got it it with a free shuttle ride because it was within range this hotel is literally within range of everything to do exclamation point if 3 miles away isnt good enough for you then from Hollywood and other places this is a wonderful place for the price you cannot beat it it apparently it looks like its being changed into Marriott or something which is a good thing I like Marriott Hotels and I really like the changes that have been made to this hotel. True the pool is not the biggest in the world but its fine for the size of that hotel. Everybody is very friendly and its a very welcoming place. Like I said I would love to give it 5 stars but and I did on Yelp but after staying 3 days I thought best because I am trying to guide people but due to the fact of the renovation and also there was a little problem with the room cleaning as I had asked for extra conditioner and I had put them in my shower and when I came back all of my conditioner and soap was gone my room was clean but I didnt have any conditioner or soap I dont know what the maid was thinking knowing that I was coming back but whatever so there was many calls made to my room for just stupid BS stuff but the staff was accommodating to everything no I must say that you do have to come with tip money you know its a hotel that offers bellhop and room service and such things so if youre thinking its a three-star with a complimentary breakfast bar no this is room service and basically I would rate it more as a 4-star hotel Ice Age 3 and 1/2 right now but once their Renovations are done I do not see any way why this hotel should not be in the four star range with all of their service they do have a small business center they have a fitness center they have a pool they have a restaurant of course and a bar and everything else that I have mentioned. What separates this from a five-star hotel such as Lowes in Hollywood is it does not have 24/7 room service, it does not have a spa, in the menu items are much more limited then bigger hotels. But like I said Ive stayed at such wonderful hotels that are world-renowned and I felt very comfortable at the Sheraton I would stay there on tour if I had to. No problem! I would stay there for cleaning my house like I did for a few days! Because the price is right and whats wrong with pampering yourself for a couple days?! This is a nice little Hidden Gem I like this hotel. I will be coming back although they were not to forthcoming about the Marriott rewards and I did stay 3 nights so Im going to have to contact Marriott and let them know because I am a Marriott Rewards customer. And apparently your stay does get put through 2 SPG or Marriott and I forget the other Awards thing but I know thats a big thing. I probably have enough points for a free night.
Not very impressed, but I still think it was worth the stay for the price I paid ($350 for 3 nights over the weekend). The room was pretty decent. The service was not, a part from the restaurant staff, who were great. The bathroom has a weird design. It is tiny and cramped and the way it is designed, the entire bathroom gets flooded after each shower. They only operate one elevator out of the 3 they have, so it is pretty much at least a 5 min wait everytime you want to take the elevator. No explanation, no apology from the hotel. The front desk is extremely uninformative, not welcoming and even questioned how much toothpaste I need (wth?). I was not sent a final bill after checking out. I usually dont leave negative reviews, but there is no way to contact the hotel through email (the website has no email address). It just doesnt feel like this hotel cares much overall. I have mixed feelings. The location and price are great, but everything else falls short. My opinion is, stay here only if the price is right.
Trying to check in was a bit of a struggle since I could not find the hotel entrance or the front desk. In general the hotel layout is extremely confusing. If you’re not parking in the garage, good luck finding the endurance or the lobby. If you are parked in the garage, good luck finding the lobby. The room on the 1st floor was also kind of odd as there were stairs inside of it.The hotel location is convenient to the convention center and the downtown area. If you’re there for a convention I am sure it is a great place to stay; however the layout can be a nightmare.
Visited as someone dropping people off at the hotel. The valets let me leave the car temporarily without any fee while we were unpacking and bringing things up to the room, which was nice. For longer stay, free street parking is generally available after 6pm right by the hotel too (not overnight). Overall a nice hotel up to standards
The hardware is great but the hotel service is horrible.I have booked 3 rooms, 4 nights each in June. All rooms are booked under deluxe king bed with balcony. Upon check-in around 3PM, we were given 3 rooms on level 1 which is essentially basement room with no balcony. When we talk to the front desk, the lady said my reservation was not deluxe king bed with balcony. I showed her my booking and she said she didnt have any deluxe king bed with balcony available, nor is there any higher grade room available. She can only give me the deluxe twin with balcony. Then another receptionist came and borrowed my phone to check on the booking. After a couple minutes he told me that I was given the correct room at the basement, and I had a wrong understanding of deluxe king bed with balcony, it is just how they market the basement room. I told him this is unacceptable but again he said he only had deluxe twin bed with balcony, and there is nothing he could do. We have no choice but to take the twin bed room.Hotel basically didnt give the room that I have booked, and told me a big lie to ask me stay in the basement room. This is the worst hotel experience I ever had.
I have stayed in this hotel several times recently, and have been very pleased with the friendliess of the staff, especially at the front desk and in the club lounge. The fitness center provides exactly what I need, and tends to be uncrowded. The location of the hotel cant be beat, with easy access to the Gold Line and to shops and restaurants on Colorado Blvd. I look forward to my future stays here, and would highly recommend it, especially for business trips. Rooms are nice and clean, and Ive had no probs with the A/C, etc.
My family was staying in Sheraton hotel Jan20-22/19. A construction going on..very dusty/noisy. The room got chlorine smell, all of us were sneezing from a dust ,probably from carpet /curtains. Stuff is not organized/ efficient. We had a breakfast included, however, every morning there was a confusion about our breakfast ,we could not get access to the restaurant because they couldn’t find us in a system. We had to spend about 25 min every morn to resolve this issue. Honestly, the Servise from front desk wasn’t very impressive.,after so much money we paid. They should get proper training and lower the price due to going construction.
Obviously the part of the hotel is under construction. This would have been communicate to the gust before booking. However, the staff is nice and honest after we arrived. She told us the construction, and recommend us to pay more to upgrade to another side of the hotel. Although another side of the hotel is so dusty and old, we did sleep well.
The staff working at this hotel are awesome. A loud shout out to Jeffrey who was the first person to greet us and to Maria who assisted us on the phone prior to our arrival. Jeffrey went out of his way to help us with our luggage and he assisted us in any way he could throughout our stay. He was always smiling, engaging and one of the most courteous people I have ever met. Thank you to the entire staff for making our stay easy and enjoyable.
This is a good basic hotel, but it is NOT at the standards of a Sheraton. Hotel is clean etc. But:1. Pillows are average, nothing as compared to what i have experienced elsewhere2. Fitness centre has one normal bike - very limited cardio3. No acknowledge of gold reward status4. On one of the days, the coffee / tea was not replaced in the room5. The bathroom is dark and only has very basic amenities (e.g. no toothbrush, toothpaste, shoe polish etc.)6. You need over-reach over a desk to turn a light off once in bed, no easy to switch off reading light. Plus that one light is shared for both beds - so tough luck if you have a companion next to you who does not want to be bothered by the light
The air conditioning barely worked. The rooms are quite small, but clean. There was a small refrigerator but our view faced the convention center and hotel alley where many employees and visitors gathered to smoke. Parking is not easy to find, but the employees were kind and helpful.
2.5 stars at best- not a typical Sheraton (closer to a motel experience). While the lobby and fitness room have been given love, the rooms have not. Carpet is horrible from the hallways to the rooms. Popcorn everywhere and noisy in room. Dated furniture The staff are kind and the parking is plenty. Location is fine, balcony is OK but its almost best to stay a distance away for a better all around experience until the renovations--supposedly-- in Oct 2016. Dont let the price fool you as u might feel robbed once u see the current conditions or u might not- shrug!
The Sheraton Pasadena is well located in Pasadena - walking distance from lots of food, shops, and good coffee shops. However, the hotel feels old and is way overpriced for the quality of the accommodations. Little things like generic mismatched furniture, low ceilings, and wires for the WiFi system out in he open running along the ceilings in the hallways. It almost feels like a cheap motel in that way. They have some weird extension cord to provide and outlet near the end tables that is really odd and seems cheap. The air conditioning is loud if you are trying to sleep. The elevators are very, very slow. Maybe each of these things are trivial, but together it really leads to a lackluster experience. Having said that, the staff are generally friendly and the beds are comfortable. So its not the worst place to stay, but its not my first choice in Pasadena.
I checked in with Patrick (front desk) on my day or arrival late evening. After receiving my keys- Patrick offered me light snacks in the ballroom for Platinum members- I asked if the hotel had microwaves in the rooms. Patrick informed me that the microwave in the ballroom was the only microwave to warm my food. I proceeded to the area and began to sample snacks and warm my food in the microwave. The manager for that area approached me and mentioned that I was not allowed in the ballroom. I informed her that I was invited by Patrick and I was told to warm my food there. She then proceeded to inform me that the policy is not to allow outside food to be warmed or eaten there. I re-informed her that I had just checked in (luggage was at the door) and that I was a platinum member who was invited. I tried to tell her that I was only warming the food as the hotel does not provide microwaves in the rooms. I was embarrassed and taken aback as she appeared to say that I did not look the part and that I should not be in this area. I admit, I was a bit disheveled as I had been flying 12+hrs but this is no way to treat guests. The other guests were looking at this exchange and I was embarrassed that she accused me of being in this area without invite. Also she did not take the time to see that I had luggage at the door and had stopped off from the guidance at the front desk. She was the manager unfortunately- so there is not a great deal that I can do as far as management. Will never stay at this locale again as I was so embarrassed on my treatment.

2022-06-12Customer service and safety! I felt very safe in this hotel compared to other hotels in Pasadena. Also, the room was clean and spacious, and the amenities were excellent. The bigger reason for my rating is the customer service. Everyone was very pleasant and helpful. The staff at Charlies Bar including Randy, Ashley, Rosie, Carlos, Adam, and Raul were very, very, very accommodating and friendly. The registration desk employees were so nice! I felt comfortable and they were all so pleasant. Thank you!

2022-06-11This is a very good hotel to stay at for any convention. Its the most convenient. Regarding, the rooms, the bed is extremely comfortable, my bathroom sink is very small. Due to COVID-19, cleaning the rooms during your stay is limited. Parking is available for a fee per day, but way more convenient parking here, to come and go, just get the parking pass. Also, make sure you remember what Level you park on, Level A or Level B.

2022-05-31Stayed in this hotel about two weeks ago and it was a great hotel. Its proximity to the Convention Center made it an ideal option, and the quality of the room was solid. As an ex-maintenance worker, the room checked out well. Only complaint would be a subpar exhaust fan in the bathroom. Moving on to service, Ivan was wonderful. He was extremely patient and helpful with my aging father in answering questions and accommodating our needs. Would definitely come back to this hotel if Im in the area needing a place to stay.

2022-05-24The bathroom sink did a horrible job at draining, and there was a pair of socks left from a previous guest underneath the A/C unit in the corner of the room. My stay from Friday night to Sunday ended up costing over $670, which I think is way overpriced (but considering it was a weekend in LA and I was there for a music festival at the Rose Bowl, perhaps thats average price). With that said, the staff were all very friendly which is an attribute I always appreciate. Overall experience was not horrible, but also not worth the cost. I probably could have found a cheaper hotel of the same quality near by.

2022-06-24This is a 5 Star Hotel for sure. Brady Bunch was great. He made my granddaughter and I feel like valued customers. We ate in the private dining room and the decor was very nice. I am a stickler for professional, courteous service and I received just that. Thank you and God bless you.

2022-06-17Hotel is beginning to show its age, rooms are comfortable and large. Maid service is restricted to once every three days (I change my sheets and towels every other day at home}.The club room is particularly disappointing. Breakfast selection is very limited. The staff are friendly, but they could use some training. One day there was orange juice, but no glasses. There was yoghurt, but no spoons; coffee, but no milk.

2022-05-26I was in town for one day/night and checked in early without any expectations. Upon check in, I was warmly greeted by Ivan. After some friendly banter, he checked us in early and was even able to upgrade our room! It was such a lovely and unexpected surprise, which just made the trip even more enjoyable. I would gladly book again (great hotel, pool, area, parking)!

2022-04-03I really wanted to like this hotel. It is lovely inside: beautifully renovated, lovely and modern look. The bed is standard Sheraton super comfortable. We had a suite; spacious and also quite lovely. Service is excellent: everyone super kind, seem genuinely happy to help. But the positives end here. Who (and WHY) would anyone install a very nice wall length desk and credenza WITH NO PLUGS!! No plug anywhere near enough to plug on anything: computer, coffee, phone. For that you must walk across the room to the sofa lamp. And the bathroom. Please please please whoever designs bath remodels! All of us women ask: Why is there no shelf? Or hand towel ring? No counter space at all! Where am I supposed to put my things? And the darkness! It was just dim. The lights provided about a couple candles worth. Even in broad daylight. I am not blind and never complain about lighting but honestly! I couldnt see anything in that whole space. Bathroom ring light was terrible!!Also the drawers were small, dresser space taken up by the tiniest fridge (nothing could stand up and everything rolled out, like it was on a hill) known to mankind and 2 fairly useless pull out drawers one on which the terrible pod coffee maker sat, with nary a plug in sight. That got taken to the sofa lamp for a plug. Just. Stupid. Poor poor poor set up.Ive stayed in many Sheratons and this just shocked me.Honestly. For what you charge, DO BETTER!

2022-06-08My compliments to Clarissa Rosalez (Sales Coordinator) for all of her hard work hosting my colleagues for their day-long team workshop. Clarissa was so quick to respond to my inquiries and was an enormous help as I organized this event from Ireland. The entire Sheraton team made this event brilliant from the location, to the food and A/V set up. My boss let me know everything was smooth as silk!Thank you to Clarissa for going above and beyond, and the Sheraton team for the seamless stay.
