The best public library in Santa Ana, California.
I have 2 hours free parking from job fair but they dont validated due to the building where I parked belong to public law building, also when I called before I go there the operator does not know enough information to explain to me.
I come here often, it is very clean now and a lot safer , they have up to five securities in the afternoon. It is super quiet too. I live close by so I do not have to pay for parking. I do not know why parking is not free.
I love it here! Right now, Im a high school student who lives somewhat close to the library. However, when I was in middle school, I used to spend afterschool everyday there waiting for someone to go get me. I used to spend whole afternoons there, without boredom! I actually like the books they have there! That library changed me, it made me a better person thanks to their books. I give them 5 stars. :)
The staff at SAPL are real troopers during these covidemic times..but we really miss just roving up and down the aisles of books..looking for that special one or two (or more) . Hopefully we will be able to do that again soon.
Great place to get work done. Very clean and quiet library. All the books shelves are clean and tidy. They also have CDs to check out. Staff seems friendly though I did not deal with them, only by passing. They offer free wifi and tables you can sit at to charge your phones and tablets. Highly recommend this place if your looking for a quiet place to do some work.
You have to pay for parking (up to $20 per day). Librarian would not allow me to get a library card because my drivers license lists a P.O. box as the address and I did not have a piece of mail with me to verify my home address. Ridiculous. Is this meant to keep people from neighboring areas or homeless people from checking out books? If so, that is pointless at best and hateful at worst. Will not be coming back to this library in any case since I have to pay to park.
My experience of Santa Ana Public Library hhhmmmm!!! Is all I have to say is your in a close knit community and theres one librarian who I will let be nameless who gave me trouble . For the most part Staff is kind and very helpful . Security could smile once in awhile . Its very clean and plenty of computers and I would suggest bringing your children for they are wonderful with children .
Best library in orange county, best library i have been to. you guys have so much material that you can turn a non educated person into a historian. so many history books it will take a while to read them all. and that is my goal
Girl in parking booth in the parking structure said they validate your parking in the library. When I was done studying the circulation desk said I needed a library card to validate parking. Since I dont live in santa Ana, the fee would be $45. I left paying the city $7.50 for parking to do hwk!
I’m so Excited that there is a curb pick up📚📚 I called earlier today spoke with Andy in the children’s department he had the books ready for us and also got a certificate for In-N-Out juice box and a little package of 🍿 Now that’s called service thank you again!!
Grest for kids accompanied by their parents and the library seems oriented towards young families. Not the place for busines, entrepreneurs, or investors. You must study those topics elsewhere. The library is bright and busy. Good, sincere giudance by the current staff.
The wifi there is realy strong and if you have the tickit you get to enter you need to go to the front desk and give them your tickit so you do not need to pay but you need a libery card

Loooooooove this library even though they wont let you hydrate yourself. it can get super cold in the summer so bring a sweater. =)

2022-03-16Regarding parking. They will validate parking in the parking building for free up to 2 hours. I heard the parking across the street cost 5 for the whole day. Sometimes there’s no one at the booth so you can leave without even paying because there’s nothing to stop your car. Overall, it’s better if you use the bus.As in books, they have wide variety but they have one book set so be prepared to be told that someone else has it at the counter. You can put it on hold and be the first one to check it out when it’s available. Some adult comics/manga/books are incomplete which is frustrating at times but it is what it is. What they don’t have at the library can be found on Libby/Overdrive.Seating wise, they have tons of tables with chairs all around the facility. They even have a hangout spot downstairs with sofas and comfortable chairs, but unfortunately they’re just for teens. I hope they can have one for adults for upstairs as that’s where adult content be found. The chairs on the main floor hurts my bottom so much. I hope they upgrade or switch the chairs sometime soon. I wish they had individual desks/study as they had before so that a whole table won’t be wasted on one person.I really like how the information desk helps people with the computers/books. They even have an event calendar on what’s going on with the library. I wish they had information about other libraries, city as well as oc stuff like OCTA.Overall, excellent service and building. I can’t wait how it would look in the future.

2021-04-02I love it here, but I am incredibly biased as I grew up in Santa Ana and frequented this library when I was young and then volunteered at different points in my life. It just makes me happy. Regarding the selection, I think it is great and the staff is helpful. There is always security on site and although there is at times occasional outbursts from a visiting homeless person, still enjoyable. They usually have a variety of events for all ages and book sales as well.

2021-06-11As of right now , the library remains closed but should be opening up in July since it is also getting remodeled! The gentleman in the back side of the library was very helpful with helping me make copies , super nice! They also have a quick use outdoor computer lab of needed! Cant wait for the library to fully open up!!!

2020-08-17We love our library! The Santa Ana Library is always a fun and engaging outing for us. The staff really make it special, they are so incredible, and the weekly story times with Miss Bobby and the reading and math summer programs are such a fun experience for our kids. Going to the library is one of the most cherished ventures for our family. One day if we ever move, the Santa Ana Library will be sorely missed and our experiences there will never be forgotten by us or our kids.
