I come to this hotel for peace and quiet, it is a smaller hotel which makes it good for me because the larger hotels usally have rude customer service for some reason. I have been looking for places that are clean and reasonable price due to the reason I was having a home built. I use some of my points with my last stay at this hotel and in the future will come back again.
Positive: Is not to complicate and the staff is nice! Negative: This times I¿m really not happy because at 1 o¿clock there is peoples make noise like a party and I really need a sleep And the noise continue until 3 am I¿m really disappointed and I hope next trip is not going to be Pilar that anymore
Great customer service they were very attentive and respectful. The rooms are clean and smell good. I enjoy how quiet the place is as well. Kim was great she was very kind to me and my lady. Sid, at the front desk it was great meeting you. Great Service Great Location Thanks for a good experience.
The property is located in a nice part of Pasadena but is in dire need to updating. It was raining when we pulled in and we walked two flights of stairs to our room while avoiding the garbage can at the top of the stairs that was catching rainwater leaking through the ceiling. Door was broken at the bottom and the toilet paper holder nearly fell out of the wall. No working ice machine and if it did work, is in the parking garage, outside.Nearly every parking space had a pillar, or other object that prevented a door from being opened so parking in the covered parking was tricky, not to mention, there are not enough stalls to provide for the rooms. I was told to park on the street.
This Inn needs A LOT of maintenance, but most of all cleanliness. The carpets are filthy, and the curtains too. We were lucky we had our sandals to walk on while in the room. The mattress was terribly old with absolutely no support. (The picture shows how much it sank just by seating on the edge.)!if we laid towards the middle it became a hole. We had a terrible night without rest.
The lobby area could be freshened but it’s a space you walk through quickly, big deal. Everyone complains about the parking being tight and it is but there are bigger spots on the backside and pleeeeenty of street parking which puts you closer to the front door anyway. The room is clean, the foam bed is cozy, the ac works great, there is a new looking luggage bench, a new looking wardrobe armoire, a desk, a large fridge, a microwave and a decent bathroom. This was the best price available in LA this weekend and for the price I am thrilled.
Great value for the price. Hotel staff wonderful and attentive. It’s on a busy street and has parking onsite for free. WiFi super face, great TV and good channels. The fridge and microwave are also a win. Very very clean as well . Sometimes in this range 2.5 stars things can get dicey not at this location. The outside looks kinda MEH but the rooms are nice and the inside of general area of hotel nice
Listen dear reader. I got the exact room I wanted. I absolutely LOVE the suite with the coral walls and the arch. I loved the direction of the west facing window where I could catch a great sunset. I love the tree right in front of my window that allowed for some privacy. The shower was wonderful. Water pressure good. The housekeepers where awesome! During one week I was called into work everyday and it was great leaving messages for them in English and Spanish. Very comforting every time I opened the door to a peaceful quiet room and everything was clean and ready for me to rest. Generally the whole place is calm and peaceful on the inside and out side. When I arrived in the first week, sidewalk repaved, carpet cleaners came in and did the stairs and rooms. I was moved to another room two doors down from me and then moved back to my room after the carpet cleaning. Love all that is available in the surrounding area along Colorado Blvd. I tell you I love, love, loved my room and would love to reserve it again always. Beautiful bright and colorful! Okay I was really sad the first day when I sat on the bed and discovered it was memory foam! It took me a night to get used to it and I was able to sleep well after a couple of nights but a more firmer mattress is better for me. That is the only thing. I mean I slept good, but not as good as I know I can with a firmer mattress. If it were not for the mattress I would not have one complaint about the room at all. The staff was very calm and professional. I felt safe and very much at home. Fully comfortable. My second stay was even more perfect. Love the hard work and detail management puts into running this place. The cleaning ladies are just excellent, excellent, excellent. This place remains professional at all times.
Positive: I liked where it was located at easy to get to not a whole bunch of people some people that work there are real nice it was right by a store if you need anything. Overall we found it easy got there got my surgery done came home was wonderful thank you Negative: I did ask to be close to door so Im going to smoke and they didnt get me one that was the only thing otherwise it was just fine so that means I hardly smoked it all which is good for everybody who makes freaking la happy Im by
Average, location on a busy street, unhelpful front staff who acted irritated anytime they were asked any questions. You don’t have to give me a personal bubble bath, but it is nice when people in service and hospitality industries actually have genuinely warm and helpful personalities! Just being a kind and warm, gentle human being is becoming such an endangered species.
Lovely budget hotel. We were traveling for a family emergency and the staff were wonderful. We had to change departure dates several times and were graciously accommodated. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Minifridge and microwave came in handy, and there were several restaurants in walking distance. Much appreciated.

I am very unhappy with this place. We gave them my card number inoder for them to hold our reservation... We were told the $100 deposit would be given back to us. When we arrived the man at the front desk asked us if we wanted to pay the deposit in cash or, on my card along with the room. My bf said we would pay the deposit in cash and the man took the 100 from him. The following morning we checked out an was given back the deposit in cash but I was later alerted by my bank app that I was still charged for the $100 deposit over my card when confronted about the issues they did not help me or give me my receipts and when I called today to ask them to email me the receipt again they refused. I will never stay here ever again. Parking sucks as well if you are a big truck or suv and the hotel is not the best. 🤷♀️ smh
The place is a dump, and the staff is very untrustworthy! I checked out a day early, and nobody seems to have a record of the outside of my receipt. Too bad I throw it away on my way to the Airport by accident...on well…screw this dump!Either way, avoid this place at all costs, even if your life depends on it!
This place is extremely overpriced I am so so angry how highly they charged on purpose. Yes inflation but not worth the price the rooms are very old, outdated, smell old and it’s very ugly for the $300 price. I am unhappy only thing good was the lady in the front she was nice.
I have stayed in multiple Choice Hotel hotels. By far and without question, this was the cleanest and it was truly clean. No obtuse odor in the lobby nor the hallways but I didnt care for the air freshener smell in the room but again, overall, it was very very clean!!! It appeared well maintained as well however, if you choose this place, you better be parked early otherwise you have to park in the unsecured rear alley. The staff was very polite, well heeled and engaging as well. My room was very tiny however, it provided just as promised and everything I needed and again.... very very clean as well as an excellent mattress/pillows and blankets. The heating worked properly as did the tv, fridge and microwave! Overall, very reasonable for price.
Said we couldn’t have 3 people in a room or they’d take our deposit but wouldn’t let us upgrade to a larger one or give us a refund. when we asked to talk to the owner the guy at the front desk told us to not worry about it. i literally can’t think of a worse experience i’ve had at a hotel
Staff was friendly and breakfast was quick and easy. The room (a king with jacuzzi) was awesome. By far the best jacuzzi tub we have ever experienced in our travels. The bed was also so comfortable that we called to ask what kind of mattress they use so we could get the same one at home. The only downfall is the parking lot is not your normal drive up or drive through for ease of access to registration. Other than that, the facility was quiet, all rooms are accessed from inside, and it is a good location if you dont want to spend the big bucks on the other hotel brands.
I had to make some last minute arrangements and they were able to accommodate me. The front office manager was friendly and efficient. He seemed genuinely concerned that I would have a good stay. The room was nicer than most economy motels. The bed was exceedingly comfortable. I stayed 2 nights and was glad I made this choice. I would definitely stay again.
We decided to stay at this hotel because of the value and location in regards to Universal Studios. Though it was about 25 minutes away (without traffic), it was nice to be away from the main strip of chaos around Hollywood. We stayed in a room with a hot tub and enjoyed it very much. The hot tub was a little small for two people, but relaxing otherwise. The bed was nice and firm (if you like that sort of thing). The bathroom was clean and the water pressure in the shower was surprisingly good. We never went down for breakfast, so I cant give an opinion on that. The parking garage is kinda small and the spaces are tight, so keep that in mind if you have a bigger car. There was no street parking during certain hours, so we stuck to the parking garage. The AC in the room was a little loud, but it worked and that was all that mattered. Overall, this hotel had nice, clean rooms.
Friendly staff. Easy parking in a garge adjacent to the building with cameras. I stayed in the jacuzzi suite. Great clean room. The bed is a memory foam mattress so it felt like sleeping on a cloud. Jacuzzi was amazing. The water gets extremely hot so it stayed warm long enough to enjoy. Outside noise was minimal, close to none. The price was a bit lower than other motels around when I price checked. I wanted to stay another night but they were all booked so reserve quickly.
I recommend Rodeway…the reps @ front desk are friendly & available…thank you for good service & lookin out even when we came in each day 3am from site seeing the areas of LA! We had fun & this neighborhood in Pasedena is SAFER & QUIET…I recommend & will stay here again…Thanks, SID, D & G
Loved the friendly staff from the front desk to the house keeping. The room was exceptionally clean every day and newly updated! Felt safe that the hall ways here all inside as well. Bed was a memory foam and very comfortable. The breakfast was minimal with store bought pastries and cereal but I didnt mind since I ate at the numerous places near by. Perfect location and exceptional hotel for the price. Will stay here again. As mentioned in other reviews, parking is tight but the staff works with you to provide parking passes for street parking if needed. Will for sure stay here again!! Highly recommended!
This is a nice budget Hotel. The staff on site were very helpful and let us check in early without a cost. Breakfast is served in the lobby and it is pastries and coffee and fruit, but still a nice gesture. Our room was comfortable and clean. We stayed for a night and would stay again. There is an elevator so that is helpful too.
This is the second time I have stayed at this location and I was once again pleased with what I got for the money. The staff were very pleasant and I was given an upgrade to a suite at no additional charge. The room was quite large, clean, and comfortable. No problems at all with the wi-fi. Overall, a good hotel and an even better value.
I was pleasantly surprised with the great and friendly customer service I received during my stay. Very accommodating with me adding an additional night at the same rate. The bed was very comfortable and the water pressure in the shower was great. I would stay here again.
We were very pleased with our accommodations. The feel is somewhat of a boutique hotel, which was very nice. The staff were extremely responsive. Parking was covered and there was adequate parking. We did not try the continental breakfast, so no comments there. We had a few minor issues that were addressed quickly. The price couldnt be beat. All other hotels in that area were $40 to $50 more per night and not as nice, really.Great value.
We checked into the jacuzzi suite. The room was very modern and clean. Jacuzzi worked great and wi-fi was fast and reliable. There doesnt seem to be enough parking in the underground structure but there is parking in the alley way directly behind the hotel. Hotel was quiet and staff was friendly and helpful. Overall, a good bargain for a nice room.
I liked it but when I checked in I asked the desk not to give the guy I was with a key. He did. Even though u was the ONLY one on the registration card.So now a few days later its HIS name on the RC. So I ask for a key and was DENIED a key to get in the room. And because, ( now get this) MY NAME was not on the RC.TF????
My stay was decent. The bed was awesome. It was a true memory foam similar to what I have at home. The parking was very limited and tight. There is a small covered garage, but I wouldnt try parking anything larger than a Camry. Breakfast was very basic and had no seating. Tray of muffins, two cereals, juice & coffee. Everything must be taken back to your room.
PERFECT IN EVERY WAY. I HAVE STAYED AT THE SAME HOTEL BEFORE AND I WILL CONTINUE TO STAY HERE. ITS ALWAYS CLEAN AND SAFE. EMPLOYEES ARE ALWAYS RESPECTFUL AND MASKED. I HAVE ONLY GOOD THINGS TO SAY ABOUT THIS HOTEL. THANK YOU FOR KEEPING A VERY CLEAN HOTEL FOR A REASONABLE PRICE.
The check in process was smooth and reassuring. The breakfast was simple but fresh and well presented. The parking garage is very small however and unsuitable for any vehicle other than a compact car. I did appreciate that I could park my truck in the spaces next to the alley. I was worried about security and it affected my visit, but it all seemed to work out ok.
Nice location and good upkeep in its secure parking area. Rooms were newly renovated and guests were quite. The manager Mike is literally one of the best I have ever encountered with in providing more than resilliant and prompt attentative service. The maids are also amazing and this is a more so cost efficient location compared to the surrounding options.
The location is a good one however parking is very hard to come by many space are so small you cannot open the car door. The location upped their prices since last year making it a bit less of a value than previous years. especially since they do not have a pool and three comparable locations nearby have pools and workout spaces. The room is very dark. Internet was good and water pressure was awesome. Pillows were very flat and lumpy. The room was very clean no musty smell.
I just stayed here yesterday. The lobby was neat and clean. The staff was very friendly at the check in and the check in was smooth. The room was excellent. The breakfast was good. And this place is close by to many good restaurants. Indeed of the choice standard. I will be back !
Just a horrible, awful experience. TV and WiFi didnt work. No hairdryer. Dirty bed sheets. Hairs on all pillows. Strong smell in room which I had an allergic reaction to and only slept 2 hours that night. Strange sounds and people in the hallway most of the night. Tiny parking spaces which can only fit a Smart car or motorcycle. Unfriendly and rude desk staff. Couldnt wait to check out and get to a Hampton Inn !
Decent budget motel with a few problems. The parking garage was very tight, I could barely fit with a compact car. The room was very large, but only had one outlet, so I couldnt plug my computer in and work from the bed or the comfortable chair. The shower barely worked: I pulled up the valve and most of the water kept coming out of the bath stall.Still, for the price it was a fine place to stay for a business trip, and the wireless was faster than many hotels Ive stayed at.
Overall this hotel worked for us. Near old town Pasadena which was nice, We were headed to the Rose Bowl so the location was good. Room was huge, but a bit sparse. The bedding was okay, but the pillows were very flat and we only got 3 for a king size bed. Parking spots were limited and very small! Hard to get into one.
We stayed here Dec 2018 as part of a package for the Rose Bowl. The hotel was clean and comfortable with a fridge and microwave. The manager Mike was extremely nice and even gave us each a goodie bag with snacks and drinks. We always found a space in the parking garage. The neighborhood was fine, and we enjoyed the palm trees which always are signs we are on vacation!
I enjoyed my 4 night stay at the Rodeway Inn & Suites Pasadena. It had secure, covered parking with camera monitors. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was clean and quiet. The TV worked well, as did the shower. It was conveniently located and reasonably priced. I was attending a convention 3 miles away, where hotel room prices were prohibitive. I would stay at the hotel again.
Check in was a breeze. Inn keeper very friendly and helpful. Room was spacious and well equipped with microwave and refrigerator, free wifi but no in room safe, nor ironing board or iron. Everything looked as if it had been recently renovated, so nice granite tops and furniture, beds comfortable. The only thing I didnt like was the dim lighting. Wish it could have been brighter and that is the only thing that took away from the full enjoyment of the room. The only other negative was the ice machine was out of order. Wish the hotel had made some provision for getting complimentary ice, other than going to the nearby liquor store to buy ice. I would stay here again. The hotel borders Pasadena and San Gabriel. Very convenient to the 1-210. Quick access to Huntington Library, LA Arboretum and not too far from the Rose Bowl. Lots of food options along Colorado Blvd and a short drive to Old Pasadena.
This is a great affordable hotel in Pasadena! The room was clean and they location on Colorado Blvd is ideal for exploring Los Angeles. The staff at this hotel was extremely helpful and very friendly. They really made us feel welcome. They helped us park & even pressed the elevator buttons for us when our hands were full at check in.Awesome hotel experience!
If youre looking for reasonably-priced accommodations in Pasadena this is an excellent choice. Nice location on Historic Route 66 with (not ample) free parking and nearby shopping and dining, but avoiding the expensive Old Town area. Also a good choice if you are in the area for horse racing at Santa Anita. Definitely the best beds we have experienced at this price point, about at par with 4 star hotels. But the rest more than makes up for it. The room lacked a corner lamp so the window end of the room was dark. There was no foldable luggage rack in the room so we had to lay out our luggage on the floor. And on arrival there was only 1 working lightbulb in the bathroom (about a day after we complained, the owner brought in 2 more to populate the empty sockets). Finally, the free breakfast is a joke. Cheese crackers, a few fruits, and some stale mini-donuts, that was about it. Dont count on filling up on breakfast at this place. If you stay here, we highly recommend trying OSeyo Shabu Shabu across the street for dinner -- you can walk there rather than have to drive off and possibly losing your parking spot...
The Hotel was adequate for my needs, when I stayed there. My only issue was when I first did not see that there was a button to push, instead of a bell to ring, to summon the night clerk. However, the person did become aware I was checking in. Just have the phone number available. One recommendation: have the continental breakfast items available around 6:00 AM; can help guests wishing to get a quick start out, or on their day.
My wife and I were looking for a room in the Los Angles area on the valentines day weekend. All hotel;s for miles were already booked we found this hotel on line. The location off the freeway was easy to get too. We arrived at like 8:30pm. The staff was very friendly the sign in process went smoothly, we checked out our room we found a king size bed, 42 TV and a hot tub in our room what more can you ask for after a long drive. I asked the staff if the are was safe to walk around at night he said yes. With in walking distance you have a Kentucky Chicken, Chinese & Japanese restaurants also a liquor store. The room was very quite. We were able to park our car in their parking lot. luckily we had our Toyota if I had my pick-up i would not have been able to get into the parking area. The next day we enjoyed the complementary breakfast and went for a walk about 2 blocks we found some good stores to look around. It was our 1st time in Pasadena but not our last.
I travel frequently to Pasadena and the Rodeway inn is always my 1st choice. It is in the prefect location that if you are visiting the area the major attractions are not far away. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. On one of my recent stays the carpets were shampooed and my bed sheets and spread were not only clean and crisp but changed after a few days of my week stay, which I felt was in impressive for a motel. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful! I have family coming into the area soon and I will definitely recommend they stay at the Rodeway inn.
I would not stay here again. The room was acceptable in cleanliness and appearance save for the A/C not getting cold for a few hours. Dead bolt worked but security chain on the door was disabled. No security..domestic dispute next door..strange girl passed out in lobby..thought it was a decent area..Ive never been more wrong about a hotel. Sad to say worse choice hotels experience. Didnt feel safe outside my room.
Overall, I found this hotel to be an unbeatable value for the money. The room was larger than I expected, well appointed, and comfortable. It even had a memory foam pillow top mattress, which I certainly wasnt expecting. Everything was spotlessly clean, and hotel felt very safe and secure. I would definitely recommend to anyone staying in the Pasadena area.
Good and comfortable accomodations. The shower was very strong, and it felt as if I was being pressure washed, and there was a lingering foul odor in the restroom. Perhaps this was just a problem with my room in particular, as I did not contact staff about either issue.Overall a positive experience.
First off, horrible service from manager.Seem to have an attitude on arrival. Rooms are pretty decent and cleanliness and apparence. The rooms are also very affordable, But not in the best area of Pasadena but not horrible. Continental breakfast was horrible juice, milk, and crackers not to mention the manager with the attitude monitoring consumption of each thing. Left my RayBan glasses in room the maid came to clean and my glasses mysteriously disappeared. Management did absolutely nothing to help. Im pretty sure they didnt even check to see if she had them. It is safe to say that I would never ever ever ever ever ever ever ever! Stay at the roadway on E. Colorado in Pasadena ever again!
This is a very clean hotel. The room was very nice and the price was just right! The staff were very courteous. The only problem that I had was the parking. The parking garage is very small. It only holds about 10-12 vehicles and the spaces are VERY small. I drive a Dodge Journey and its a mid-size vehicle, but it almost wouldnt fit between two other cars. Im sure there are lots of door dings because of this. A larger vehicle probably wouldnt fit at all.
Recent remodeling includes some nice features; e.g., marble tiling, fresh paint, etc. The large fridge was nice to have.Parking was horrible. No street parking at night. Bathtub caulking was covered in mildew. No toilet seat. Very small bathroom counter to store toiletries. Bath towels werent fit to dry your dog. A free breakfast was offered on an approx. 36 counter (nothing called breakfast could ever be provided on a 36 counter), but I decided to not even look as I have a small child and I care about what he consumes. But, no bed bug bites!Note, Choice has the right through its T&Cs to edit the content of customer reviews. Hopefully they will retain the honest opinion representing my personal experience as stated above.
This place was great for the price. Staff was incredible, room was nice. I was visiting from San Francisco for the forth of July and had tickets in my email I forgot to print for Universal Studios and 4th of July Fireworks and no where to print. The staff gave me email address to send to an printed them for me, no time wasted. Its the best when your hotel helps with you not wasting your vaction time having to search out your needs.
My husband and I were pretty impressed with this hotel. We stayed for 2 days, 3 nights. For the price its very clean and the rooms are well furnished. We were an hours drive from the beach and roughly 35 minutes to Universal Studios or Hollywoods Walk of Fame. The parking garage is rather ridiculous. Id have to get out of the car before my husband parked because there was no space at all for me to open a door one he parked. Even he had to squeeze out a few times and hes a skinny guy. We shouldve just parked in the alley, longer walk but a little more space. The room is nice with ample space. The lighting is very sparse and the window has no blinds. Its either black out curtains or wide open window. The bed is clean, sturdy, quiet, and very comfortable. The pillows are very flat so be sure to bring your own. You only get one little garbage can located in the bathroom. Bathroom was clean with a reasonable amount of clean towels. The staff is friendly. The attendants cleaned our room every day, and they changed our sheets and made the bed nice every day. Our belongings were never bothered. Its relatively quiet in the rooms, we did have a large family move into the room next to us our last night who were extremely loud but other than that its quiet. The A/C unit works great. We did have to pay extra to stay in a non Smoking room. Which I think is a bit backwards. The hotel does not smell like cigarettes, at least on the second floor. This hotel does have an elevator, however their license just expired in June. It still feels secure. All in all I would stay there again and I would recommend it to anyone visiting popular attractions in LA who doesnt want to pay an arm and a leg for a closer location.
We arrived at the hotel at around 11 pm as we came from the Dodger game. When we first arrived we noticed that the parking was very limited. We tried to park in the structure under the building, but it was filled up. We ended up parking in one of the handful of parking spots located behind the hotel. When we tried to check-in the hotels system was down, but came back on in 5 minutes or so. The receptionist was very friendly. When we walked into the room it smelt musty. We turned on the air hoping that would help along with making sure the window was slightly opened. After an hour the smell still slighty lingered. We stayed in a King no smoking room. The room and restroom were clean, but the decor was out dated. There were some cracks on the wall in the restroom. The restroom was suprising big, but the sink area was small. Overall the room was decent. It had a small fridge and microwave. The TV was a bit grainy, but that was most likely due to the cable service. The memory foam bed was comfy. The continental breakfast included cereal, small donuts, croissants, muffins, fruit, coffee, juice, and milk. If you are looking for a decent and clean place to stay at a reasonable price then you should give this place a try.
Very nice hotel. Perfect if you just plan on spending the nights here. There isnt much to do here.Free Parking. Free wifi. Free breakfast!Very convenient. The wifi can be slow at times and the breakfast doesnt have any hot foods. Croissants, cereal, donuts and orange juice and coffee is all its offered for breakfast with no place to sit but you can get it to go or bring to your room. I had no problem with it, I dont need a fancy breakfast and this is free! There is a Target down the street if you need anything and the rooms have refrigirator and microwave!I wish the hotel room came with a list of tv channels though, I spent a lot of time browsing, not enough watching.
Last month my parents stayed in this place. Better than most of small motel in around locations. I liked their service. The rooms are not that bad. My parents liked it better than other motels they stayed and we have decided to come to this place in every trip. Safe and secure place :)
I booked this Rodeway Inn close to where I needed to do business. The staff was pleasant and helpful. The room was clean; bathroom was nice; bed was fairly comfortable, but the pillows and sheets were in need of replacement. Sheets were quite worn and thin and the pillows were very flat and old. Breakfast was minimal with few choices - coffee and donuts.
From the outside you think, this doesnt look like much. Once I entered my room, I was most definitely surprised. Beautiful rooms, they also offer a jacuzzi room. If I had to pick out of all the motels on Colorado strip this is the one Ill be staying at. Thank you roadway inn for a amazing relaxing stay.
I absolutely loved my room. The bathroom was to die for!!!❤ I really liked the way the tv swivels from one room to the other. The front desk check in was very friendly and courteous. Overall my stay was wonderful, I would recommend that my family and friends stay there, and as one California Governator once said, ILL BE BACK😎 Thank you.
The location is great for the Pasadena area. There are not many amenities but cost is a bit lower than other hotels. Staff is very friendly and quick to solve problems. The bedding does need to be updated, the sheets are a bit threadbare and not soft. The pillows are definitely in need of replacement, they were flat and hard. The towels in the bathroom were very small and also could use some updating. The lighting in the room is not very good, pretty dim. Parking is tight , small spaces and not very many
The noises room, i’ve ever been in, all night long, Toilets next to us keep adding water all night, The walls are so thin. The double mattress was so sunk in on one side my wife fell out of bed. The bathrooms have not been taken care of, nasty. And very small no room to put any thing in there. The light switch is behind the door, very hard too get to, since the bathroom is so small, No one around for help, its a dump
The hotel is conveniently located in the Pasadena area. Price was fair, the only down side was the carpeting in our room, it was rather filthy and very much needed shampooing, other than that our stay was satisfactory. I would stay at this hotel again. I hope the housekeeping on the carpeting will improve in the furture.
It was fine for a night’s stay. It served its purpose. It was missing standard hotel items- like an iron. And the “free continental breakfast” was a variety of granola bars in donut display case. I did like that there was a parking garage provided for the people staying in the hotel.
Real Suites! Who knew that Rodeway Inn has Suites, too? Our stay at the Rodeway Inn was amazing. The customer service was excellent. The parking was tight, and parking on the street at night requires a pass that was include free of charge. The bed was very comfortable, and we had a good nights sleep. Its memory foam and feels like cloud... We would return to this hotel again when visiting Pasadena.
We were in town to deal with some personal matters and found the hotel on the Choice website. Overall we were happy with our stay. Room was clean and the hoteI was a few minutes drive to Old Town Pasadena. I would recommend this hotel if youre looking for a place to rest your head.
The staff was friendly and courteous. The location itself was rather quiet neighborhood. Parking on property felt secure. Television was a bit out of sync with many channels not on the list. Couldnt get a GUIDE to pull up listings of what channels were available and had to literally flip through 500 channels to figure out what was available, but it was fine. A bit outdated. Overall, not bad.
The room we stayed in didnt look anything like any of the pictures posted on here! I mean not even close to these pictures... room was hot a stuffy so we turned on the air, went to get something to eat (gone about 40-45 minutes) came back to the A/C of room even more stuffy... thank God the window opened for fresh-ish air! The people are nice & they watch the parking garage even over night! I wouldnt go back. :(
The hotel delivered everything that it promised. Its a great value for the price. The continental breakfast was more like from a Third World country rather than the Continent.Parking was available but it was get it when you can with no street parking allowed.Internet service was good and hotel staff were quite respectful and congenial.
The place is very clean. The rooms are spacious. And the bed !! Omg! Super comfortable guys!!!!! They have 24hr check in. We actually came in a bit tipsy, but the guy that checked us in was very polite and didnt cause us any drama. There is a Dennys restaurant like a block away from here if you are feeling like grabbing a bite. Also, there is a Target and a Smart & Final a few blocks down. The gold line Metro station is 10 minutes away on foot which takes you directly into L.A. in like 40 minutes and you get nice sceneries. And the Santa Anita Mall is like 15 minutes away on car. Right behind The mall you can go for a stroll to The Arboretum. The hotel is family owned... I think... So that supports local business.
The Rodeway Inn in Pasadena was much nicer than I expected. Rodeways usually are low frills, fine, affordable, and get the job done. This one was beautiful. The room decorations, quality of bedding, flat screen TV and physical appearance were very nice, much better than some of the other 2 star hotels Ive been at before. Breakfast is in the lobby, which is pretty small. With a family of children, we took our food upstairs to eat and were fine. The neighborhood is very safe and covered parking is on the first floor. I would go back.
Great place to stayThis is a great hotel, location is good for business and pleasure and I always stay here now in the city. Rooms are large and comfortable and it is worth paying more for 2 Queen Beds which is wonderful with exceptionally helpful and friendly staff and wonderful breakfast makes our day bright. Other facilities are all good, but the staff throughout the property are exceptional, they have really improved this hotel over Several years and while it is actually very good value for money.
An upgraded hourly hotel. Not even close to what was expected. Gives the impression of a skid row area with the other lower rate motels and shady patrons moving around. Poorly upgraded/renovated building. We usually search the internet and read yelp reviews as well as look at the room pictures before we book but we didnt have a computer on our trip and searching with our cellphone proved tasking.
Staff was friendly. Hotel was clean. Although bed was very uncomfortable. body would sink in. Gave me and my husband body aches. Television was hard to manage, there was no reception most of the time. And could also hear the stomping of the people above our room. As they say, you get what you pay for.
The Inn is located on the East end of Colorado Blvd. We were not expecting a 5-star experience. However, we had a clean and comfortable room and the hospitality of the staff was very good. All we needed was a place to sleep for a couple of nights that was close to our family and this Inn more than meet our needs. It was the best value we could find and was very pleased with the cost. The free breakfast was not a hot breakfast but this was not a deal breaker.
This property has a lot to be desire...it needs to be re-structured to create better facilities with the hotel guests. Be aware that there is a very small lobby, the ice machine is in the parking structure outside the lobby and the parking structure has very narrow spaces. The structure lacks a welcoming feeling although the staff we dealt with is very welcoming.
We only stayed one night at this hotel. Spent the day at Universal Studio. The hotel was clean and got the job done. Rooms werent anything special but were clean and the beds arent the best. For the price and being there for a short time you do get what you pay for.Parking needs to be updated. I had a late check-in and there was no parking available, although the staff was friendly and help figure something out I feel like they need more spaces.
Nasty place I shouldve know when I smell the place in lobby. The owner was very rude and watches people on camera so beware might be in rooms to. I had Book this hotel for 3 night left after 1 worst experience ever not only is place nasty it smells horrible and it all in the hallway my room hair all over sheets and un know object i had to sleep on top sheet and use my own sheet I had bought . Just not pleasant place to stay i have pictures to prove thank goodness I left i couldnt stand the funky stinky place anymore. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY. As well when I brought my complicit to owner of hotel, who has his whole family living there in hotel , owner told me to leave as well just not experience a person want in city that never been in I will tell everyone how my experience was.
It was clean and acceptable. Parking is tricky - the stalls are smaller than normal and are beneath the hotel between pillars and walls - difficult to get into and still be able to get out of your car. I have a compact and there were places that I couldnt even squeeze into. A midsize or larger would find it almost impossible. Plus the city does not allow overnite parking on the street.
Clean and comfortable accommodation. Location is very conveniently located in the heart of Pasadena. Supermarket and other major stores are within a few miles. Has elevator and stairs. Parking is free and also wifi. Beds are a little uncomfortable but other than that I really recommend this property for the Budget traveler.
I searched for about teo days for a good hotel but affordable. This was a great choice! I was pleased with my stay here. Clean and pretty nice rooms. Customer service was great!! Only thing I didn’t like was that the TV didn’t work, but everything was overall awesome😁
This is the first time Ive ever spent the holidays alone in another State without my family so I wanted to find a place I could relax and just self care for the day. I was allowed to check into my room early which was amazing and it was very convenient to food spots. I would defiantly stay here again if I got the opportunity.
Breakfast was not good... low selection... couldnt figure out how to turn heat on, called and someone was suppose to come up... ended up figuring out which reset buttons to push before anyone came to the room.Window was left completely open when we entered the room so bugs got in the room (no bug screen) and the room was freezing.. it was in December!
Stay was very acceptable. off street parking. on famous route 66. Wasnt nosiey. Easy to get too. Close to old town Pasadena. Central location. Ice machice and vending machince in the parking lot very odd place to have it. Lobby is standing room only. Room was updated. Loved the mini fridge and microwave was very nice extra.
Staff was unavailable overnight (around 2 am) to assist with parking pass and thus led to my being ticketed since it is illegal to park overnight on the street without a parking pass in pasadena. front desk staff in the morning did not try to assist and instead tried to blame the ticket on me insteadhe told us that the manager was unreachable on the weekends but promised to have the manager call me backnobody called me backhighly unprofessional behaviorfor a mid to low range hotel i felt that i overpaid and the hotel under delivered in its appearance, cleanliness. there were qtips left over from the previous occupant on the bathroom counter.
There were many little difficulties with the room we were assigned. The fact that it had no closet explains some of them. We were also disappointed in the breakfast. Our room was clean and wasnt the worst place we have ever stayed, but it had enough problems that we would not choose to stay in that particular hotel again.
This hotel is satisfactory..it is in a great location if your visiting Pasadena Ca. The rooms and beds are fine, dont expect any frills, but the large wall mounted flat screen TVs are nice. If you require really good internet then I would strongly suggest another hotel. Ive stayed here more than once and the internet never improves. Also the one time I did go downstairs to the lobby (utilizing their rickety elevator that has seen far too many days of service smelling of old hydraulic fluid, but alas we havent gotten stuck in..yet! lol) to experience their continental breakfast that consisted of a small pot of coffee and boxed mini powdered doughnuts..so I passed the breakfast this last stay.. Overall like I mentioned the best part of this hotel is the location.
Excellent for the price, this hotel was the ticket. 20 to 30 minutes away from (Downtown LA, Universal, Hollywood, Beverly Hills, Santa Monica Pier, LA ZOO)The place was clean with flat screen Tv, up to date, and it seem recently painted. Since its in Pasadena its also in a good neighborhood (felt safe) with private parking (a good plus since you pay for parking almost everywhere in LA)Definitely will come back
The room #212 has a strong smelling of unknown chemicals. The window air conditioner unit/fan is very noisy; these kind window air conditioner is known to be noisier than central unit in the past, but I have been a similar grade motel near Shasta CA area, their window unit air conditioner is very quiet, which means the quiet window air conditioners are available on the market. Rodeway Inns window unit is more noisier than those average/old noisy units. You will need to park at street if the limited hotel parking spaces are full. Other stuff in the room such as the bathroom and the bed are good.
Overall the hotel was nice. It was in a very convenient location. My girlfriends son lives in Burbank. And the his graduation was at Azusa Pacific. The hotel was right in the middle. The staff was not overly friendly. They charge for ice. The breakfast was pretty sparse.
We stayed at this motel to be close to a wedding and reception. We booked from Michigan, so we chose Rodeway because we have stayed at these before. They provide a decent place to stay at a good rate. The room was quiet and comfortable. We had a good choice of restaurants to choose from as well. We enjoyed our stay very much
Friendly staff. Rooms were clean. Fridge, microwave, coffee maker. Parking is tight and limited not a place for full size trucks and suv. Muffins, donuts, cereal provides in the morning nothing spectacular. Beds have a mattress topper made of memory foam for the ones who cant stand the softness.
The staff (if you can find them) will assign you a room and collect your payment. Ask them about a place to eat then their lack of knowledge of the area becomes very apparent. the rooms are adequate and clean (if you get one thats been cleaned). I will continue to stay at Rodeway Inn but will pay more attention to the reviews after this. I will booked another Choice Hotel the next time Im in Pasadena, CA.
Hotel was very nice and close to the highways. Rooms were well kept. No security to get in to the doors thus easy access to all rooms in the hotel. Parking is very tight and limited with no parking allowed outside the hotel after night. Breakfast was very weak and not many selections.
The room was nice, bed was comfortable and clean. The only bad things I could say are that the TV didnt work at all and the WiFi was shut off 2 hours before we left. I spoke with the front desk and they said that they couldnt give me a discount because we booked through a third party company.
The crappiest hotel ever. So old and everything is broken. I mean EVERYTHING. The bathroom door doesnt close all the way, the paint is chipped, it smells. Just a horror hotel from your worst nightmares dont book here! There was hair and lashes in the bed and on the pillows so gross.
The stay there was awesome. Although in lower end of Pasadena, , was a great stay and the Staff was excellent with m e, and very kind and superb room service. They helped me during my 6 night stay to make sure all my needs were met and went above and beyond.. I will definitely stay there again on my next visit...
Watch out for fleas! If you like fleas, you will love here. You will get bites and badly. We bought ointment for our children as they were too itchy to sleep the night after checked out.Keep far far away from this motel. There are plenty motels in the same price range.
The 1st room we were assigned smelt like mildew but the hotel staff accommodated us and put us in a different room for the night with a jacuzzi tub very much appreciated only we had to move to a different room in the morning, which was a hassle but the other room was a lot better. Only downside is the lack of parking but they will comp you parking on the side of the hotel so not too much of an issue.
The area located In more of a suburban section of Colorado Boulevard seemed safe and parking was ok. short drive to Old Town Pasadena with its tree-lined streets and sidewalk cafes. The ok: sub par breakfast selection on a three foot surface with no seating..extremely basic go to the Dennys across the street...The bad: not sure if it is the cultural thing but Americans like ice and we should not have to pay for ice machine in the garage.?? Also work on common area carpet .newer but dirty esp in stairway.Great stylish clean elevator.
I would not stay at this hotel again and would avoid this chain in the future, we were just stuck as all the other places were booked because of baseball. It was really dirty and smelly, the room smelled of old cigarettes and the linens were stained and uncomfortable

2022-06-14Positive: The location was convenient. Good view from the room window. Negative: Its an old hotel. They did the best they could with upgrades I guess. It doesnt have enough parking. The room had a queen memory foam bed not my favorite but it was priced ok in comparason to other hotels in the area.

2022-02-20I was very impressed with this hotel. I was not sure what to expect when I booked it. I found the manager to be friendly and helpful. Always had a smile on his face. I felt very welcomed from the minute I walked into the hotel. The others who worked at the front desk also had the same great attitude. We had only planned to stay for 3 nights but ended up staying there 8 nights. Even though the hotel was a distance from our daily activities we chose to continue staying here because we felt safe and welcomed. Every evening we came back to a clean room. This hotel far exceeded my expectations and I will definitely stay here again.

2022-04-13Was satisfied with hotel as it met our needs. Was impressed with daily towel changes and room cleaning. Older hotel with limited & challenging parking spaces, outdoor ice machine. Very friendly & professional staff always available. Would consider staying again.

2022-04-18The low price and being part of the Choice hotels chain is why I chose to stay. Rooms were clean, and although the parking was a little tight I felt like it was a pretty good deal. I stayed a week, but no hot water on the last TWO DAYS really killed it for me. And not just in the morning, it was out completely. I reported it but was only told “I’ll call someone”. I won’t be returning.

2022-01-28We chose this hotel because its close to where we needed to be the following morning. Though I was a bit skeptical when first arrived at the hotel, our room was spacious, with many desks to put personal items, electric outlets. The bathroom and toilet are up-to-date. Bed and pillow are comfortable too.

2022-01-31We rented a jacuzzi room. The toilet would not flush. A gentlemen came to fix it and when he left it kept flushing repeatedly on its own. We called and were told to cut the toilet off and turn it on when we left. We used all the towels to clean up the water and could not shower because the floor had toilet water that leaked all over. For $171.00 we should of received better service. It was our first time there. Attendant that checked us in kept saying no visitors allowed!

2022-05-282 star place.... Not a good location, worried about my vehicle getting broken into. No street parking/ not enough spots for all rooms. I reported someone stuffed tissue in fire sprinklers and no screens on window, just looks kinda dumpy

2022-03-14Positive: Nothing, it¿s a dump! Old, dirty furniture from over use and not proper cleaning. No hot water last day for shower and staff didn¿t seem to care ! I¿d be embarrassed to have my National brand name on it! Obviously the brand hasn¿t checke Negative: See above. Advertising very deceptive. Didn¿t look like photos unless one staged room!

2022-06-04The people working here are friendly, the room is whats youd expect for the price and there was a needle outside the front. Overall the place is worth it for the price and friendly service but the neighborhood isnt good.
