Brittany cleaned our room and did an amazing job. the room was cozy there were more than enuf towels and everything worked so well...hest, hot water, cable and I felt as if I had no worries, thank you guys for the wonderful experience at your beautiful establishment.

This motel is one of the best places I have ever stayed! They have rooms to accommodate a single person, up to a family. I have been in a room that has 3 beds and enough room for myself and my 2 toddlers. And the staff are amazing! Very friendly and happy to help. The landscape they have here is so beautiful. Includes a very nice grass area with a small pond/waterfall, very serene. Theres even picnic tables and bbqs to use
Though these rooms are not the most modern they are clean. Beds are good firm matresses. Staff is friendly. Surroundings are peaceful. Above all rates are good.You can pay more for other name rated motels, but this place was good for us.
The place is clean and comfortable. In a good location just outside of town. The staff wasnt exactly friendly and there wasnt a ice machine. Those are the only things I found I didnt like
This motel appears to be an older but solid establishment in a small town setting. It appears to be meticulously maintained inside and out. Our room was spotlessly clean and fresh. It even smelled fresh! All the ammennities you would expect from one of those big chain motels but with a more personal touch. The owner is obviously very proud of what he offers to his customers. And very reasonable rates as well. We were very impressed. And yes, we will stay again, and we will recommend to others.
Clean room, soft towels, good rates. Arrived very late and message and key was waiting as I had reserved ahead. I did not have to make use of free stables😉. As with most independent or smaller hotels I find calling directly gets you the best rate and service. My room this last time had a shower only, which wasnt a problem, but if you prefer a bath, you might want to specify that when booking a room.

Positive: Rimrock motel the owner was so unfriendly from the beginning and very very rude it is a really shame that somebody thats coming into Alturas community is taking advantage of people that are traveling Ihighy recommend no one stay at rimrock motel .thank Negative: all my personal property and then l had ---in my backpac.and it was removed and put in a different place not good at all thank you earline jackson
The owner is very nice an attentive.The room was very clean and the bed very comfortable.Alturas, CA is a village so do not expect to find many restaurants but the motel its just steps away from everything.Super safe and you can see the nature from your rooms window.The wifi the TV and the rest of appliances, everything was clean.They just do not have conditioner so take your own before to enter to the shower.
Pet friendly, including horses! I called at last min and when I arrived a hour later, the A/C was on and so was the fridge. Since it was 101, both were much appreciated. Rooms clean and priced right. Staff were helpful and friendly.
Front desk personnel were not very welcoming. Room was a bit outdated but clean. We had a good sleep and there was a nice seating area outside to get fresh air. Good for a one night stay for the price.
This gentle reminder of my youthful travel experiences is by far the most welcome roadside sight on my trips through this part of the country. Located almost exactly half-way on my way to, and home from, the City of Trees, my adventures with Betty would not be complete without the hospitality and welcoming smiles, as well as the clean room and the comfortable bed. Close to nature, and the get-away from the world that is Alturas, our stop here is always restful, even if it can only be one night at a time. Thanks Bobby, well be back!

The Rim Rock is a beautiful setting for a lovely stay . Friendly staff , clean rooms and an amazing atmosphere. Beautiful views of the Warner mountains , horseshoe pits , BBQ for the guests with park like settings. Pet and equestrian friendly with Corrales . Beautiful gardens to sit and soak in the peace of nature. Family owned and operated.
This place is great. Its not new-but it is clean clean clean! The staff is very friendly and helpful. I found this place by word of mouth from locals, and I must say, every positive thing I heard is true. Not only are the rooms bright and clean, but the property is immaculate and really pretty. You can see that the owners of the Rim Rock are very proud of their hotel. It really is great. Rim Rock is the only place to stay at while in Alturas!
I travel to Alturas regularly and require an overnight stay. Ive tried several of the establishments and for the price have found this place is great. Its safe, quiet, well priced and comfortable. Its not the Hilton but its also not motel 6. The owners and staff are friendly and remember me every time I call to reserve, and that makes me feel welcomed. In the morning the sunrise is gorgeous. In the evening you can sit outside your door and watch the big skies, and mauve usr their bbq pit to make your dinner. The showers are small but thats ok. Towels aste nice and beds are comfortable. Very homey. Im now a regular.
Clean but older Motel, fairly well updated. Staff is friendly and shower and bed was clean and comfortable. A little expensive for what you get, but theres not a lot to choose from in this town.
U can hear the traffic but once the heater and TV was on it quieted down. The rooms were a lil older but thats ok the shower won it for me! It is large and in charge. Also the guy that checked us in was extremely friendly and pointed out a nice place to eat.
Wow! The Rim Rock Motel is an old-school property -- something that one might have found 50-years ago. It is unlike the modern, vertical, cookie-cutter, efficient properties I usually stay in. It is a well-loved property that is kept in exemplary condition by owners who clearly take pride in their property.My room was clean, well-maintained, and nearly perfect. The grounds are well-kept and there is an area to exercise a horse (or a dog in my case). The grass is neatly clipped and there are horseshoe pits! The irises were in bloom when I stayed here and the evening sun backlit them, so I had to make a couple of photographs.I would stay here again, no problem. This is an example of what a motel should be like.
The good old days - Very nice motel at a nice country setting with excellent and friendly staff. You park your car at the door of the room and can enjoy the quite surroundings. Reminds me of the classic motels I used to know. Very well maintained.

2022-01-20I want to start off by saying what great staff they have! We were checking in late, so they left a key out for us. Then when we left I didnt realize I had left a new sweatshirt in our room until we were an hour away. I called and they said they would set it aside for me since I would be passing through again in a few days. Sure enough, on our way back from vacation we stopped in and they handed me my sweatshirt. That earned major bonus points from me! If youre expecting luxury, this is not the place. However, it did have two beds in separate rooms, which was great traveling with kids. They have a large grassy area which was great for walking around our dog. The motel offered just what we needed: a room for the kids, a separate room for my wife and me, and plenty of area to walk the dog. I wasnt looking to stay in my room longer than to sleep, so the simplicity of this place was perfect.

He was extremely kind and flexible as our check in and out times were after closing, and before office opening and he made it very welcoming either way!

2022-03-22The staff in the lobby were two very sweet young ladies that we had a very pleasant friendly interaction with. The room is clean and there is a coffeemaker and a small fridge to store drinks and snacks in.The problem was the next morning when I discovered there was no shampoo provided. There was bar soap, body lotion in a small pouch…a dispenser on the wall in the shower labeled ‘shower gel’ and ‘conditioner’. No shampoo anywhere. I thought maybe the ‘shower gel’ was an all over body cleanser, since it was together with the ‘conditioner’, so I took a chance and used it to wash my hair. Bad decision. My fiancé threw on clothes and ran out to buy me some shampoo, which was not an easy task at 6am in Alturas. Not much is open. He finally came back with shampoo but by then my hair had started to dry and I thought that maybe I could get away with it as is. (another story). I then also discovered that the hairdryer didn’t work! 😣 Luckily I had brought my own. I left a note for room service regarding the absence of shampoo, AND I also left a voice message at the office. Never got a response from either! I am not a picky person, but this visit left me very underwhelmed. For the price of this room I would expect better.

2021-11-07This is a very nice place to stay. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was CLEAN and the grounds are very relaxing. We got to see a herd of deer grazing on the lawn in the morning. It’s quiet place, I never heard any of our neighbors.

2021-08-19I travel a lot between California and Oregon. Alturas is the perfect “half way” point. The rooms are clean and the people are friendly. They have a very nice lawn area. It’s a great place to decompress after a day on the road. Walking distance to a great restaurant!
