Highly recommend these guys over any other rental service in the area. Their team is responsive and accommodating. The service is super affordable and cars are reasonably well maintained. Ill definitely be using them again!
We rented for a week over the holidays and could not have had a better experience. Rent a relic was really easy to get to, since it is part of the city and not at the airport, the customer service there was great (really quick in an out for the rental process) and it was inexpensive. I had been a little concerned by the name, wondering what kind of cars they had. But our car was perfect for our needs. It was a Nissan Maxima, had 136K miles on it, but ran perfectly fine. Would 100% recommend it to others.
They were the most amazing car rental experience I ever had! They were incredibly responsive, flexible, and understanding. And there prices were unbeatable. I will recommend them to everyone I know!! If you need a car go here!
These guys are really two very nice pleasant guys. I met with both Rich and Todd and they are very fair cordial and good folks. A fair price and the car was excellent gas mileage and ride. They even picked me up at the Bart station and dropped me off on return. Good service, I recommend.

Rich and Todd are the nicest, most helpful owners and are quick to respond either by email or phone. Great location just off of Highway 24, and a 15 minute walk from Rockridge BART.

Excellent customer service. Patient with all of my questions, made it easy to change how much time I needed the car for on the fly. The car was great-- newish, clean, and no issues. And Im pretty sure that you cannot beat their prices, especially for a longer term rental.

Rented two vehicles while our family of ten was in the Oakland area recently for my sons wedding. I was expecting a rather old sedan, but was pleasantly surprised to find a brand new Toyota with 7,500 miles on it! Both the sedan and the minivan were easy to drive. The best part about this business is the people who work there. Really friendly and helpful. No unexpected surprises. Honored the quoted rates. Didnt push extras on me. Im sure well be back in Oakland many times, and plan on renting from them again in the future. Great job, fellas!
Nice folks! Needed a notary in a pinch and googled notary near me and Rent-a-Relic popped up. So I hopped on my bicycle and headed over. No appointment needed, they took me in as a walk-up. 10 mins in and out! Would highly recommend. If I need to rent a car, I know who Ill be looking up. Thanks guys!

This was easily the best and easiest experience I have ever had renting a car. 10/10, would rent again.
I have been using Rent a relic for many years now. Rich and Todd are truly wonderful people. In fact today I had to rent a car to get my normal car repaired. Rich picked me up from my mechanic, and we told each other jokes all the way to the rental place. At the end of the day Todd drove me back to my mechanic to get the car, and he had me laughing my head off the entire way. The guy is a comedian. As he said, when he was a kid his friends used to call him “Todd TV”. Take note in a short while they will be moving eight blocks away, to a more expanded space. Rent a relic is here to stay! The best deal in town!
This place is amazing. I got a very good rate on a 2010 Sentra and it served us well as we drove to Big Sur and back to camp. They were super flexible and allowed us to extend from a 3 day rental to a whole week one day at a time as our plans changed. Highly recommended!

Very nice staff, they take good care of their cars and they have fair pricing. Easy process, license and insurance with a fair driving record is all you need. They even have insurance for you if you dont have it. Great company!
Good local business with well maintained cars. Staff are friendly and flexible. More unlimited mileage options would be helpful, but their rates are reasonable, their cars are clean and safe, and they are very easy access.
Always have a car available. The whole process is painless and takes 5 minutes to rent and return a car. Guys who work there are nice. The cars are a bit older but drive fine. All Toyotas for the lost part
Wow, these guys are the real deal!! I have always been restricted in my travel plans because renting a car is so expensive. I often go to places where a car isnt needed or taxis/tuk-tuks are very cheap. But to explore the California coastline one really needs a car and these guys offered AMAZING prices! I definitely would not have been able to see the things I wanted to see from Big Sur to wine country, had I had to rent from a big chain. I wish there were more companies like this!! SUCH good customer service and such affordable pricing. A PLUS PLUS PLUS!!
I needed a Larger Vechicle to take my Mum (90) & my Aunt (92) to a Thanksgiving get together several hours North. After calling around comparing prices, before finding Rent a Relic, I thought we just couldnt afford to go. We needed to bring a Wheelchair & Walker, in addition to 3 Medium Suitcases, 2 Food Bags, & a small dog, so, Rent a Relics Toyota Sienna Mini-Van worked perfectly for us!!! It had a 3rd Row of Seats which actually allowed my Aunt to lay down on the way back. Rent a Relic is just a 10 minute drive from my home but too far to walk... Owner, Rich, was Great & Efficient... He was even able to accomodate transportation, so I could pick up the Mini-Van & get back to my house, after returning it. If I need to take my Mum & Aunt on any more trips, I will be definitely be back!!! Constance in Berkeley, CA

2021-09-10Ive only been here once, but it was a great experience all around for me. It was as quick & easy as I could imagine. At pickup, I was probably in & out in under 5 minutes. At drop off, I walked in, handed him the keys, and walked out. Great prices. Perfect car for what I needed (I got a Toyota Corolla). The guys were very friendly. Cool little business. Ill be back😎

2021-06-01My partner and I needed a car to take a trip through California and we were a bit dismayed at rental car prices....till we found Rent-a-Relic. You literally cannot beat their rate, and they are a family owned business so you get good customer service. Their mascot is super cute and their facilities and vehicles are super clean and updated.Absolutely no complaints!

2021-04-25Best deal in town by a lot! Dont let relic in the name misguide you. I got a 2021 Toyota for my 10 day road trip at a much lower cost than any big rental company and with added bonus of amazing customer service. Friendly, responsive (even on a Sunday when they are closed) and they made extra effort to save me money on my total trip. I will use them everytime I need a car rental and would highly recommend them!!!

I recently needed a car in an emergency and they had me in and out in no time, with a very nice clear car and all! Ive also used them for notary services which were fast and affordable.
