R&D Pest Services was an unexpected find! We used them at our dental office, and now at our home. Dave is AWESOME, and I never feel like Im being oversold. He is extremely knowledgeable about all things bugs, is extremely courteous, and always on time. We are now on a quarterly service due to a recurring ant problem. Dave just came over a few days ago for that - and also sprayed for those insidious spiders who make webs on our eaves. He cleaned up the webs, too! The solution is organic and safe.
Ive been a customer for almost a year and am really pleased. I previously used two other companies who always sent a different technician out, was disappointed with their service as I found they didnt kill too many bugs, and I fired both after I caught them doing a drive by (saying they treated my home when they either spend less than five minutes at my home or didnt come at all). I felted completely ripped off by them. Mark is my technician from R & D who always services my yard. He knows my yard and where the issues are, and now I dont have a bug and spider problem. I would highly recommend this company, as I felt I wasted my money the past 10 years, but find I get great value from these guys!
We got bees invading to our house a couple of times. I called R&D Pest Services to spray chemicals inside and outside the house. The service guy, Cezar, did a great job. He not only sprayed but also cleaned up most of the spider webs along the roof line. He also guaranteed bees will not come back within one month after spray. He promised if bees come back after one month, he will still give us a free service to spray the house again.
Mark from R&D has always been a professional and great at his work. He has helped us manage our ant problem, and other pests as they arise. I love that I dont have to worry about toxic chemicals around my son, as the use non-toxic treatments and its all on the outside of my house. He makes himself available for emergency situations right away. The admin team is also great, always helping me with any if my questions and with prompt responses. We just had our first visit from R and D Pest Services and we’re super impressed. Our technician (Cezar) was professional, friendly, thorough, and really listened to our concerns about troubled areas on the property. Our main concern is spiders (of the not so nice variety). He sprayed all the areas we were worried about and then removed all spider webs. So happy to reclaim our outdoor space!! Great service and a pleasure to work with.Last thing to note, we called around 10am and they provided same day service at 2pm that day. There was no pressure to sign a contract (with service like theirs they don’t have to) and zero attempt to up-sell on anything. Couldn’t have gone smoother. Thank you!
I have been a customer for over 10 years. They always text or call to let us know what day and time the technician will be at our home. If we need service in between appointments we just call or text Mark, our technician, and he gets right back to us. Mark is very thorough and explains exactly what he found and treated every visit. He also makes sure our dog Elvis is inside and lists anything he uses just in case. We would highly recommend R&D Pest Control because they are the best!

Use them for quarterly service on our home as well as as needed treatments for our daughters condo. They are fast and easy to reach and communicate with. Ive been using R&D Pest Services since moving into my Scripps Ranch home 7 years ago. I live on a canyon, and have pests of all varieties. I also have a small dog, so wanted a non-toxic way to keep ants out of the house and off the patios. Their method has been 100% successful. They call the day before to let me know theyre coming to service my property. A year ago I added rodent bait boxes which are kept out of site but accessible by rats & mice. Although there will always be rodents since I live on a canyon, I am at least not finding them hiding in my grill! Whenever I have an issue in between bi-monthly servicing, R&D Pest Services is quick to respond. I highly recommend them!

Its been less than 4 weeks since the home I was moving into was sprayed. Since the home was sprayed I have had spiders, silverfish, crickets, and an infestation of ants move in. I will be calling another service to do the job that I originally hired R&D pest control for. I do not recommend using them. I have never had issues after a pest company has serviced my home until now.

When we moved here almost 4 years ago, we called a nationally known pest control firm to address our ant problems in hopes that they would be better than the rest. After 2 very frustrating years with okay service but unsatisfactory results, we finally called R&D after reading so many positive reviews. The improvement in both service attitude and results was immediate with R&D and I cant imagine ever needing to change again. If youre unhappy with the results of your own efforts or less than impressive results from your current pest control company, this is definitely the company to select. From then on, youll spend your search time considering best restaurants instead of pest control companies.
Since Dave of R&D Pest Servcices has been caring for our home and yard, the spiders have disappeared! We used to have webs outside over everything - such a relief when you sit down in an outside chair to know it isnt already occupied!We had ants coming to the home via mysterious and unknown venues, that has ended thanks to regular care from R&D Pest Services. Dave was on call and came over at the time of our few inside infestations to take care of business.Above all, they are friendly, take pride in their work, and do a great job. Highly recommended!
Prior to R&D we used a different, national pest service and it always felt like they would come out and put a band-aid over our ant problem. within 2 weeks, the ants would be back... since starting to use r&d about 7 years ago we have NEVER seen an ant in our house again! JOY! JOY! JOY! they came out initially and treated the ant problem and we have been using their quarterly system ever since. Their technician is prompt, friendly and knowledgeable. he even tollerates our outdoor dogs! their product is not toxic to your pets. i highly recommend R&D for your pest needs.... NEVER will i use a national company again...
I hate having to use chemicals, but the ant problem at our house was so bad--inside and out--and these guys were so careful. No chemicals in my home, and a fast-drying treatment outside. A bi-monthly visit keeps up ant-free and the fast drying solution stays off my dogs paws. Occasionally, there has been a resurgence of ants between visits, but they come out and treat again at no charge. Ive been happy with them for years!
We have used R&D for over 10 years and have NEVER been disappointed! Originally I contacted them due to an ongoing ant problem... they got that under control IMMEDIATELY! You just cant beat the personalized service you get from using a local company, and R&D is simply the best. Not only is my home ant free (and has been since the moment they started their service over 10 years ago), but the staff is friendly, professional, knowledgeable, and just plain awesome to deal with. I can go to them for advice on anything pest related, and whether its within their services or not, I receive a prompt answer and/or advice without the sales pressure you get from the chain companies out there. We have had a terrible ant problem in our La Jolla home for years. About two years ago, the infestation reached epic proportions. Every little food crumb or wrapper left out would turn into a black mound of writhing black ants within minutes and there were thick lines of ants moving through every room, and even dropping from the ceiling. Each morning, I would open the kitchen trash can and thousands of ants would be inside. I hired two different local companies over the course of a year and paid thousands of dollars for regular pest services. The problem only got worse and worse. I was literally feeling crazy, obsessed with cleaning and killing ants every moment I was in the house. I contacted R&D Pest Services a year ago and Dave came out that same day. He said he would fix our problem, and after identifying the type of ants we had (odorous house ants) and explaining how each ant needed to be treated differently, he did just that. Rather than just spraying, he left different kids of bait outside and in, searched tiny crawl spaces, climbed to the roof to locate nests - spent literally hours until hed rooted out the last nest and solved the problem. Plus, he was always careful about reassuring us that our pets and kids would be safe throughout. I can honestly say Dave has single-handedly changed our lives for the better. Since these heroics took place, Ive only seen a few scattered ants in the house once or twice, and Dave is always here within a day when I call. Ive never written a review in my whole life, but my experience was so incredible, I felt I needed to share. If you a suffering with ants, just call these guys. They are like superheroe
Contacted this company to get rid of a rather impressive wasp nest inside our shed. The guy arrived when he said he would and did the necessary, with offer to do any required follow up free if the first spray didn’t do the job (it was a wet day). Contact was made via Facebook and communication via messenger. Quick, efficient and friendly service. Would recommend.

Im on a market for a pest company and came across this company via search. Went on their website filled out a contact form on Sunday and Monday came and nothing. I called them on Monday and spoke with some lady at the office and she said that my area technician will be calling me back at his next break. They must be really busy because 25 hours later he still didnt get his break and called me back. Ill stay away. Plenty of competition to go with. Thank you for letting me know how good you care for your costumers before I signed a contract.
Weve been regular customers for 15 years. They keep the ants and spiders at bay -- no easy task for where we live -- and occasional other pests as well. Weve never needed indoor service because they control it all from the outside. The service is outstanding (and theyre nice guys!)
We live in Scripps Ranch next to a lot of open space and had major ant invasions every summer. I tried a range of insect sprays of the Home Depot variety - nothing seemed to stop them. We finally decided to get some professional help this spring. After some research we decided to try R&D. To cut to the chase - no more ants, spiders or any other insect pests. Their service and knowledge is 1st class. Dave came out on the first visit and went over every aspect of their service - what they are using, how they spray it etc. They are very environmentally conscious and aware of safety concerns - so they spray very focused and targeted - not one of those bring a truck, blanket the place with chemicals and hope for the best outfits. We have a lot of wildlife and also grow some vegetables - again, they deal with those special concerns very professionally. Bottom line: highly recommended!
We first used R&D 13yrs ago after we purchased our first home. We have since moved several times and they have moved with us. We trust our home to no one else, R&D offers great service and prompt attention to any need we may have. They are also very informative about what type of pests are common at which time of the year. My wife, daughter and I moved from University Heights to Torrey Highlands this past summer. Our house was inundated with ants, and there were a lot of spiders, too. Ants were coming in through the outlets and in all the bathrooms and sinks. My wife woke up one night with ants crawling all over her in bed. That was the last straw. R & D was fast and friendly: we never even knew they came. They only applied their formula outside the house, nothing inside. Since then, we have seen not one ant or spider in the house. I was seeing scorpions and tried R&D about 5 years ago. They did a great and professional job so I fired Orkin and have not been disappointed. A couple of years ago, bees found their way into a house vent and they came, took care of the problem, and charged me a lot less than anyone else cause I was already a steady customer. I recommend them highly.

2022-08-11I used another company for many, many years and their rates were skyrocketing. I couldnt afford it any longer. My neighbor recommended R&D and they have been great!! Issiah texts or calls to let me know hes coming so I dont let our dog out for a couple of hours.I also had some issues inside and I got a call back right away. They have been great to work with so far and very cost effective for regular service.

2021-04-06I began to use this service by the recommendation of a friend a few years ago. I was having repeated infestations with ants yearly. I have been more than satisfied. When you call the office, the person helping you is patient, kind, and helpful. I once had an unusual outbreak of ants. They immediately got someone out to my home to address the problem within one day. The service guy, Dave, is professional, friendly, on time. He also is the kind of person that you can have a friendly conversation with. He even invited me to his home one Thanksgiving to celebrate with his family !!! I would recommend this service without question.

2019-10-01We have used R&D Pest Services for over 15 years for our ant problem. We have the exterior of the house treated annually and it has always been effective and long lasting. Recently we had them at our home again for ants and Cezar, their technician, was absolutely wonderful. He was professional,, polite and very pleasant and did a thorough job. In fact, he went above and beyond. R&D has a great employee there and we will be requesting Cezar the next time we call them for an appointment.

2019-06-18After just one Pest Spray we saw mediate results and loved every minuet of it. We have been using R & D Pest Services for over a year now and have no problems with ants or other bugs. Before R & D Pest Services just a drop of water on the back patio would have ants swarming our feet, now we barely see an ant ever. Its saved us from constant cleaning of ant traits to our pantry and the dogs food bowl and water. They really did safe this house from pests.

2019-07-13We have been using R&D pest for a few years now and can’t say enough good things about the service we receive. David always calls before coming to the house, to let me know when to expect him. He has always gone above and beyond to make sure that our home is pest free and safe for my little kids. We had lots of widow spiders when we moved in and David took the time to talk me out of a frenzy over them before eradicating them. We sometimes get ants in the house in the summer, but with a phone call to R&D, they’re gone the next day and don’t return for that year. Thank you so much for your impeccable service!

2018-02-18Weve been using R&D Pest Services for a while now and theyve been great! We used to have problems with ants every year and havent seen a single one since we started service with them. We have monthly service with them, but theyve also come out a couple of times outside of our normal service appointment to take care of things for us. Love that theyre local to us in RB as well!

2019-08-30Dave has been taking care of our home for 5 years and I dont ever want to know what things would be like around here without him. I told him I didnt want the little sugar ants in my kitchen and the black widows out my door and since the first treatment I havent had to worry about them. He makes me feel comfortable and safe with how hes protecting my house and I appreciate to no end how hes consoled my irrational concerns when I find the one off Jerusalem cricket or House centipede. As it turns out they are a normal part of our ecosystem and I dont have to move! Thank you Dave. Your attentiveness to my home is priceless!

2015-02-12We have been using R & D Pest Services for our home in Escondido since moving here from IL in 1999. It only took one time, having ants crawling all over the place to know we did not want to deal with this. Since the first time they treated our home, no ants, no bugs.
