Worse than a couple years ago. They want you to smoke way far from the room and say they will charge you if you smoke right in front of it, but the parking lot has random people hanging out in dark and does not feel safe. Found someone was using a cup as an ashtray in front of my room next day and the housekeeping kept knocking on my door in th morning even with the do not disturb sign hung on ththe door, way before checkout time. Had to wait to check in because nobody was in the office at 4pm
This was no quality inn. First it started that my credit card wouldnt go through and I needed cash. There wasnt anything wrong with card, I went and picked up cash. The one ice machine was broken and a refrozen bag of ice was given. The soda machine also broken. The parking lot and walkways were dirty. The handicap shower and bathroom was great though for the senior that the room was for. We will not go back.
The first room they gave me hadn’t been clean from previous occupants so when I went back to front desk they gave me a new room and that room I walked in and turned around and walked back out it was disgusting. I didn’t even check out I was so disgusted. They said they would refund my money yet I still don’t have the money back in my Account. Never again! I’m furious they can’t expect people to actually stay in filth!
It is cheap. Sheets were clean. Pillows tiny. Curtains dirty and grimy. Sidewalks and parking lot could use a pressure washer. A lot of sketch people in and out all hours of the night. Would have left but paid for the night and not familiar with the area. Toilet worked. Nice TV. Would not recommend to anyone I liked. There is a cute Cafe about a block down the road for food and coffee but they are only breakfast and lunch.
Positive: Tv Negative: Late getting room was not cleaned extra half HR untill ready. Sign in office no pets no exceptions.next door to my room had a dog.most people that stayed there lived there.front curtains in room do not close anyone can see in your room, and bed is 2 ft fro
Positive: Bed massive, once I got in. My man loved the jacuzzi. We lost two small things in the room and not only did the management stop the house cleaner from helping me, I¿m in a wheelchair, they (Mgr) said that I kept going back to the room after checking Negative: They kept 80% of the deposit, the TV was broken/not connected to satellite , we SHOULD¿VE been offered a functioning room gratis. Nope. Rude, kept most of the deposit. We were wishing them poor sleep and hives.
Staff was friendlyFelt safeDispleased with the roomDirty, very strong unpleasant smellNo Kleenex facial tissueBlinds were filthyWalls dirty Curtains dirty and tornRegretfully, was traveling for business and this motel was recommended to meI was bummed the room was so bad.
This is a nice hotel BUT they have no maids and they are doing the bare minimum. Let the HELP WANTED sign out front be your first warning. I was there 5 days and my room was NEVER cleaned. The breakfast was terrible. The coffee was so watery. They also showed my reservation as cancelled so I could not get the points AND I could not write a review... boo! I called corporate, I hope they get it together. The room was nice! Great area. Id stay there again if they have been able to hire help.
The staff is great and would get 5 stars. I stayed 3 nights was given the last room available for my first night. I was moved to another room next to the office for the rest of my stay. The carpet in the room needs a deep cleaning. Everything else was clean. The WiFi was bad in both rooms, but worse in the first one. The other guests do not care about their neighbors. I could smell weed in my room, as I was past other rooms and there were other guests smoking weed outside of their rooms.
I have been staying at this hotel once a week for business for the last year or so. The the last four stays my room has been terrible. In every room I have been assigned this past month various things have not worked. When I leave the room I will leave notes for the staff letting them know what doesnt work (remote for TV, AC/Heat unit, drain on the tub, etc). When I get the room assigned to me again the same items do not work. My last two stays the linens in the room were minimal (1 towel, no washcloths). The coverlet on the bed also appeared dirty/stained the last few weeks and the carpets are definitely looking dirty, I wear shoes the whole time Im in my room. This week when I walked into the first room I was assigned, at 7:30 in the evening, it had not been cleaned at all (TV was still on from previous occupant, bed unmade, towels on the floor). It appeared someone was still occupying the room. Front desk staff was very apologetic and reassigned a new room immediately, still pretty jarring to walk into a room that appears to be occupied when you are tired from a long day at work. It appears the management of this location has declined significantly over the last month. For the rate charged on these rooms I would expect a much higher quality of room cleanliness and operable amenities. I will be staying at a different hotel in this area for the next few weeks in the hopes that some improvement is put in place before I risk booking here again.
Less parking than there were rooms available — I was told to park in an otherwise-unoccupied disability spot. As well, the A/C unit leaked considerable condensation which soaked the carpet.I had a bit of trouble verifying that I actually had a room reserved under my name, but it was sorted out. No fault of the hotels, but make sure you check in advance just in case!
The room was clean but the air freshener odor was so strong we decided not to have staff tidy up the room during our three night stay after taking some time to air it out. Huge amount of trash waiting for pick-up - did someone miss a pick-up or not pay the bill? Breakfast was good. People wandering around I was not sure were staff - it was hard to tell.
Since the change of ownership, I can tell that there is a big focus on improving. Kyle at the front desk was incredibly considerate and helpful and I can see small improvements being made (paint and external repairs). I have been staying here about once every other month for the last year solo for business. The wireless isnt the fastest, but it has worked absolutely every time Ive stayed here. To be honest, my wife would probably not want to stay here with me until the rooms get an upgrade of paint and carpet, but I find it a great value and will continue to come back.
This hotel is under new management and it really shows. All the rooms have been remodeled and are clean, fresh and modern. The room had a big flat screen T.V. with plenty of channels via Dish Network. The bed was comfy with lots of pillows. The bathroom was large, clean and modern as well with plenty of hot water. Check in was fast, courteous and professional. I was really impressed with how nice everything was and would definitely stay there again.
The hotel itself is not bad.The employee Isabel is.The service I received here from one of the workers, Isabel, was so bad I actually had to create an account to review it. My husband and I have been at the Quality Inn on Alhambra Ave in Martinez, CA for the past ten days almost now and have had to deal with the worst customer service that is possible. I reserved a room through a booking website 24 hours before hand, and even though we eagerly arrived a little earlier to check in (just past 12PM) we were more than happy to get some lunch and hang out next door until check in. Except that once it was time to check in the woman working the front desk instantly told us she wouldnt be checking us in because they had nothing available for us. Contrary to what she so adamantly tried forcing me to accept (that there wasnt a single room available), their website still showed availability and the vacancy sign was the one showing. After far to much ack and forth she decided the only reason she would check us in was because the room had already been payed for. But before finally checking us in she made sure to tell us we cant get a room here for the whole next month at least because they are going to be full. Our reservation was from the 18th-22nd and the day before our checkout I went onto the hotels website to check availability (because my experience with the staff here was so appalling I would just rather avoid this employee). So the next day I went to check back in for a couple more days and it was the same woman working the desk. This time she was even ruder than before when she was telling me that I need to stop buying a room from their website because regardless of it having rooms available to purchase, they did not have them and I absolutely had to be gone by the weekend. And the whole time she was telling me there was no rooms available, she did actually check me in. Later that afternoon a different woman was at that front desk, hoping she could clear up my confusing I went and spoke with her. There did not seem to be a single issue in helping me now, and she even extended my stay.A few days later another employee was able to assist me with no issue whatsoever and got me checked in. This reservation had me booked until today, which means I had reserved a room here yesterday. So going into check back in this morning I was stunned when the same woman (Isabel) flat out told me my reservation was no good and she canceled it and we just had to leave now because she didnt have a single room left I could get. So after asking to speak with a supervisor I stepped back so she could help the other people. The woman behind me had checked in a day or two prior and had not made any reservations just came and asked to get a room again, and the employee assisted her with no problems, immediately after she had told me they were full. After refusing to get my a supervisors contact information, I signed into the Choice Privileges website and called the number listed for reservation help. The employee there that helped me was great, and after over an hour of total B.S. it was somewhat resolved. The Choice Hotels had to call the hotel where I was, and then her manager was finally involved and it ended with her having to check me back in. But only after she decided to do a surprise inspection in our room (which we passed of course). But after she was made to give us the room which we had a two night reservation on, she only gave it to us for one night. And at this point I have given up, no hotel anywhere is worth having to go through this customer service.I would not recommend this place to an enemy (if I had on).The other staff are great.Isabel should not have a job in customer service if she cannot provide it.
Never again will I stay at this disgusting hotel. If any other hotels in this chain looks even close to this one. I will refuse to stay. Grounds were very disgusting, room was horrible, safety was even worse. I did not feel safe here. I was embarrassed to tell my coworkers were I stayed.
The rooms are very comfortable and clean. The manager and staff were very good to us. Our boss got us a room for a night and because of the visus going around we ended up needing another night. They were very accommodating and although they are not an animal friendly motel they had no problems because of my service dog. We will stay here again
Rooms were recently renovated. They are modern looking in decoration. The rooms were clean and all systems functioned well. On my second stay, the TV remote was missing from the room. The hotel staff had another one to me in less than 5 minutes. the staff was friendly, responsive, and efficient. While the neighborhood is fairly quiet, there are amenities nearby, grocery store, drug store, etc.; so it is convenient. Also, it is relatively easy to get on and off the freeways.
I was satisfied with stay. I come to area regularly, and will probably stay here again. Do think you need to add safety measures in bathrooms and upgrade breakfast. Batter for waffles was watery, sausages had funny taste, eggs were ok. Coffee was warm, not hot. Other hotels in area charge about same amount with better breakfast.
All the in-room amenities that you get at establishments that charge twice as much - refrig., microwave, TV/remote, very clean, tidy and comfortable room. I was pleasantly surprised for the price. Best to arrive early for best parking choices in the lot. While there appears to be ample parking, not all spaces are adjacent to the rooms. Parking lot appears secure with fencing around area, only access is via the drive thru entrance. Staff was friendly and helpful (I had some initial key card problems that were quickly resolved).Didnt use the Wifi, but was told it was available.Fast food within short walking distance. Worked for me. Something more than that would probably require some drive time. Parking lot could be repaved, some of the pavement surface is starting to show signs of wear.I would stay in this establishment again.
Everything from start to finish was a positive experience for me. The front desk were very courteous and responsive. The bed and room was super clean. The bed also is extremely comfortable. I want to know what brand they are using and I looked on the tag and they are made exclusively for Quality Inn. Too bad, I want one for my home. The only thing negative would be about the same thing that is negative within a small space. The air conditioning on a hot day will either blow right in your face and dry you out or if you turn it off then you get real hot but that is to be expected in a hotel room! I have no real complaints about that as my experience with the cleanliness of the room was beyond expectations. The bathroom and refrigerator, were super clean. The TV was a nice 40 inch LG HDTV with HBO was great. Quiet neighborhood and polite housekeeping made my 3 nights there memorable!
Front desk is polite. The rooms here have always been clean. Convenient location. Has everything you would need. Prices are reasonable. Continental breakfast is sparse, but adequate. Waffle maker is a nice bonus. This is our go to when staying in Martinez, CA. However, they do not do 2pm, late-check out for Choice Members, but they will honor a 12pm late-check out request. Their answer was because they need time to clean the rooms. Based on the cleanliness, this must be true. Water pressure varies depending on assigned room. Overall, would recommend as a stay in the area.
This was our second stay on a separate night. Very clean (could actually see vacuum marks!) and comfortable! Different room, same great amenities, same remodeled bathroom. Breakfast was a bit better, but still needs some attention. This is a smaller establishment, but parking was never an issue. Seems popular with contract workers staying overnight for jobs, so most trucks are gone early in the morning. Generally quiet. Staff always asked for ID, which is comforting as a traveler. Pleasant second experience, consistent and courteous! Contender for our go to when in the area. Become a Choice Privileges member, and on the 2nd stay you will receive a $50 gift card of your choice of several popular merchants, until September 2016. (No one paid me for this review; I just like to spread the word on good service and benefits for fellow travelers.) It works and they have great membership perks!
Housekeeping Was Awesome! The front desk manager did not seem to know what was happening on the property or was extremely reluctant to acknowledge any information regarding the light in our room, water issues or the state of the breakfast room. Over all our stay was comfortable and clean. For the price we paid (staying so far away from San Fransisco, but in a wonderful area) I was satisfied with the hotel, but would have been happy and would recommend it to others had the manager at the front desk been more forth coming with information or even acknowledged the issues we came across. I enjoy staying at Quality Inns, however this trip has me thinking twice about my next visit to one.
Very nice interior for the room I was in.Pleasantly surprised in a good way - not unlike an average room in an upscale Reno Hotel, I feel is a good way to describe it. The color tones of the room matched from the bedding - to - the drapes - to - the complimentary hygiene that adorned the interior. Recommend staying here for an evening or two if you are interested in a quiet/small place without the extra baggage the other big name hotels have mandatorialy attached to them.
The staff was courteous and accommodating to our requests. Room was exceptionally clean this time, though the rooms are always above standard when it comes to cleanliness. Conveniently located. Overall a clean and comfortable place to rest your head. Clientele varies, seems the majority are workers who leave early in the morning, but have seen all walks of life stay here. Most people just keep to themselves and are quiet. Bathrooms are remodeled. This time, room 104 had little water pressure, but nice hot water. Continental breakfast doesnt have a lot, but you can find something to get you through the morning. Donut shop is literally next door, so thats an option. Lots of things are in walking distance, including the John Muir National Historic Site, where you can tour the house and take a walk on the trail for free.
Sent to a dirty room. Then sent to a room where the people upstairs were slamming doors all night. I got NO sleep. The wifi didnt work.I called to ask for help with wifi and they hung up on me. The smoke detector was ripped out of the ceiling. I will never stay here again. This place should be knocked down.
I always choose to stay at a Quality Inn when traveling. This trip had be second guessing my loyalty to the hotel chain. When entering the room, it was like any other Quality Inn, but the bathroom was not clean. Debris was left on the tub floor and we ended up cleaning it up. Although minor, as any guest, we would expect the room to be clean and ready for guests. Hopefully, if we stay here again, this will not be a problem.
Overall very nice. Very pretty location. Room space was a little tight but for what we paid I am OK with it. Inside the room looked very nice. Not many boarders when we were there. Breakfast was adequate.Good choices but not a lot of variety. Only one egg left in chaffing dish (nice they had hot egg patty and sausage!!) and both milk container were empty.Could have been because there were only a handful of guests that day. Especially like making waffles. Wifi kept dropping on us while in the room and we had to keep reconnecting. Nice they had HBO. Person preference: I like motels were you can park your car just about right up to the door of your room. One thing I thought peculiar but probably cannot be fixed is the entrance into the office is a sliding door that is virtually on the driveway that leads out to the street. Perfect for a short stay. If I was going to stay for more than a day or two I think I would look for something bigger but probably would be way more expensive. I would give this establishment a solid B.
I had an excellent stay at the hotel. It was quiet enough until neighbors were being loud around 2am. Its out of hotels control I know. Breakfast was ok. Didnt have enough variety but manageable. The scrambled eggs though were cold. Could improve better wirh breakfast.
The new owner named Derek has really improved the all around atmosphere. The rooms are way cleaner. The pool was opened for the first time in yrs! The Continental breakfast is great, as well as the rates!!! We planned in only staying a night or two, but ended up being there like 4-5 days.
We had a nice room 1 king bed, microwave, refrigerator, coffee maker. The room seemed newly remodeled, especially the bathrooms with new black granite tops and tile, great shower pressure and temperature control, perfect hot water! Kitchen nook with ample counter space and granite top with small kitchen sink. Plenty of storage room, including iron and ironing board as well! Hotel is walking distance to eating establishments, and 5 minute drive time to downtown or the highway. Our stay was quiet and comfortable. A/C and heat worked well and smelled fresh. Cable TV and local channels. Only 4 stars as the complimentary breakfast was lacking in variety and hot food quality, but is not as a priority as the cleanliness and staff, which were 5 stars. Would stay here again for location and cleanliness!
I stayed 11/14-11/18 and my experience was great. The carpet in my room needed attention but overall the stay was to my satisfaction. Derek, the GM, is attentive, friendly, and such an inspiration to others. His attention to detail is unmatched along with his charismatic personality.
This hotel has improved SOOOO MUCH in the last year. The manager Derek can not do enough to accommodate the customers. This place is well run great service and I hope upper management knows what a gem Derek is and how he goes way above and beyond. I stay monthly at hotels for business and this place out of all is by far the best
Check inn is at 3pm. The door reader would not read my card and the yoing lady said they have been having problems with almost all the rooms , had turned inn work orders but no one has fixed this issue. The Wi-Fi does not work inside the room at all.The house keeping lady was knocking on my room at 10:20am before 11am with is check out time. Lots of suspicious characters around the parking lot.Other than that the room was clean and room does have a fridge and microwave.
Its an ok stay when your in a bind. Dont stay downstairs i stayed on the 28th and heard rats scratching in the walls all night and in the carpet there was also mildew in the shower. When i checked in the desk attendant was not wearing a mask while checking me and never bothered to stop to put one on im disappointed because im a choice memebr not acceptable
Rooms were clean and had enough for the basics. No WiFi access, and almost no privacy as the shades did not close all the way and the bathroom was in plain view of the front window near the walkway. People could easily see inside and the only part that had privacy was the actual toilet and shower. Smaller rooms for sure. It will get the job done but this is definitely the lower end of acceptable hotels especially for the area.
This is probably one of the nicest Quality Inns that we have stayed at. BUT... spider webs on the ceilings and a bottle of vap fluid was found behind the night stand. To top it off, on the memo pad that all motel rooms have, was a hand written note from the cleaning staff member saying that he was proud to have cleaned this room. Besides this, the room was nice and big, quiet, good firm bed, quiet HVAC, and had a descent hot breakfast available in the morning. Check in took a minute at the most! That is impressive! BTW, never got the wifi to work.
Rooms are clean and the city looks safe and quiet. Outside of the motel is very dirty and it looks that they never clean it. Breakfast is only good for one day, second day you have to eat the left overs and they are gone by 8:00 a.m. and they do not put anymore items out. They have a lot of construction workers staying in rooms (about 5 in each room) drinking, smoking non-stop and making loud noise until pass midnight. Nobody ever told them to stop the noise, the drinking outside the rooms or the cooking outside the rooms, the smoke of the barbeque was intolerable.
Stayed one night on our way from Muir Woods to Yosemite. Beds were comfortable, room cleanliness was suspect as there was clothing left over from previous guest, toothpaste in the wrapped cup, a pill and cracked sink in my daughters room. I slept great, others in the party were woken up by a car alarm at 4:30 am. Breakfast was good. I had ordered a king and a room with 2 beds, instead was given 2 rooms with 2 beds to keep us close together, with the sketchy surroundings this turned out to be fine.
Everytime I stay in Martinez, I stay here and dont even look anywhere else. Reasonably priced, rooms are always nice and clean, but there staff is top notch. The front desk guy is the best in the business, always goes above and beyond, and the other staff does as well. If you ever need anything like extra towels or shampoo or anything like that, they are on it. Just good, hard working people there.
We stayed a night at the Quality Inn in Martinez, California on 5/17/2019. The bathroom light did not work and the exhaust fan was hanging from the ceiling. When we reported this, the front desk person tried to fix it but could not. And, they could not give us another room. The water pressure of the shower was very low.At the breakfast, they ran out of items like eggs, coffee etc and were not refilling. The hot water for tea or Oatmeal was lukewarm. The printer was not working when we checked in or when we checked out. I used my points for this and when I asked if I would get a refund, I was told that I got the room for free!. Not a good experience at all.
This Quality Inn is a new location, a complete remodel of an existing property. Definitely ignore online reviews which are over a year old (under other names) -- those have nothing to do with the current premises. The rooms are extremely clean and well-maintained, with new mattresses, showers, carpets and HD televisions (with good channel selection, including multiple HBOs, Cinemax, NFL and MLB nets). Rooms are quiet too. Lots of pillows and full-sized towels, unlike some other Quality Inns. The staff is extremely responsive and helpful. The only drawback is that the bathrooms in the double bed rooms are pretty small. The breakfast is free and has the standard choices for Choice hotels. This is a really good motel and the owners should be proud of their property and their staff.
Breakfast was horrifying. There is no one specifically assigned for breakfast so the food was either sticking to the pan or there was none at all. When you needed something you had to ask the person who was working the front desk to replenish the food. God forbid if someone was checking in at the same time because you would have to wait. Finally after waiting once he brought the food out it was undercooked/microwaved My husbands work brought us to Richmond, Ca. We booked thirty days at a really good rate. Since his job was for a longer period of time I asked if we booked another thirty days could we receive the same rate. I was assured we could but we have to pay cash and move to another room. After my thirty days was up I go to pay for the next thirty days but was told I had to leave the Hotel completely. I was told it is Choice Hotels policy that no one could stay beyond thirty days.. I spoke with a Choice Hotels representative and she said they had no such policy. When I was checking out I was told we could never come back. I have no problems with policies just inconsistencies in them. My husband and I felt displaced and confused still wondering why we were treated the way we were.
For being an economy option, I am really pleased with this place. Last week, i forgot my phone charger and a shirt. When I got back this weekend, they had both for me. For a while I thought the same guy was working the counter 24/7, seemed like he was always there, then I realized they were cousins and looked similar, Rahul and Supheer. They were always friendly and helpful. Small computer and printer there in the lobby was useful and the breakfast was okay. Surrounding seemed calm and safe. I went for a walk both in the morning and evening. Nice little town. I would stay here again, if in the area. I would recommend the place too. Only wish the pull could be used. It was empty and looked like it was being worked on. Rooms were clean. Restrooms seemed to have been recently renovated. Beds and pillows were great. I had two rooms
Terrible experience, the room was dirty. The coffee maker had a cup with an old tea bag in it throughout the whole stay, the bathroom had old used soap and shampoo and hair from previous guest. The room next door had tweekers yelling and slamming doors all night. Our company will never use Quallity Inn again.
First night was okay the room was in good condition. The Man working the front desk was friendly decided to say is second night thats when the games started. My wife and I had just finished a quiet dinner. It was early in the evening then we receive loud knock on the door it was a black man demanding that I open the door immediately we had no idea who this person was or what He wanted. He just kept banging and yelling demanding that We open the door. I said until I talk with the front desk to confirm that He worked there I would not open the door. When the front desk did finally arrive at the room They said they had received three calls from different rooms that an assault was taking place inside of the room which was a lie . we decided to check out immediately even though it was early in the evening for our own safety I dont know if this was so they could re rent the room twice in the same night or if it was a plan for something more sinister whatever the reason I would not recommend staying here to my worst enemy
Hotel was in a good location to a wedding I was attending. I only stayed one night but the bed was comfortable, room was cool (temp. wise), and shower good. However, the carpet was filthy. After getting out of the shower and walking to my suitcase, my feet were black. I wore shoes the entire time I was in that room.
The staff at this hotel was very unconcerned with the comfort of the guests. Although they had the standard sign saying they were there to help, they could not even be bothered to get a box of tissues. They were not always present at the front desk. Some breakfast items had not been stored properly, and were uneatable. They always tried to use queen sized sheets on king sized beds. The rooms have been renovated, but the staff needs to be retrained.
The housekeeping staff were very helpful and pleasant. Not so much the front desk. I did not appreciate having to pay slightly more than the rate I was initially quoted. And why a debit or credit card was not accepted- only cash, was not fully explained. And having a maintenance man knock on my door at 9:45 at night about something I had nothing to do with, and then be told by the same individual about not over filling a bathtub (What???), and then being told by the front desk that breakfast was over at 9:00 when the sign on the door plainly shows 9:30, well, lets just say the customer service and support was pretty poor.
The one staff member I met was friendly and I liked the room. However, the shower nozzle was broken, the grate was missing from bottom of the ice maker, and the breakfast was the most skimpy of any Choice hotel I have visited. The same person was covering breakfast and the front desk. He also had checked me in the evening before! He told me his replacement had called in and he had worked 24 hours straight. This location needs more maintenance, more employees, and more breakfast.
I dont do reviews often but this place is wonderful!!!! Clean rooms, hot showers, and the new GM is GREAT!!! He really wants u to feel comfortable and happy, totally go out of his way to make sure you are. It is now stored in my favorites I sleep in hotel every night Im out working and this is one of the best I have stayed in yet !!!!
The well-appointed rooms make for a very pleasant and relaxing ambience. The place is always spotlessly clean, and it is hard to express just how helpful and thoughtful all the staff are. They even anticipate my needs as I stroll over to the lobby. With a good swimming pool, and full complimentary breakfasts, it is certainly the best value for money of any hotel in the Martinez area.
This hotel is poorly managed. The hotel has been recently renovated, and for the most part looks great, however there are numerous quality issues to include from my experience, toilet not being fastened to the floor, loose fittings on sinks. The breakfast entries are limited or non-existent to include Milk, Juice, and Breads. The waffle maker has been our of order for all my stays thus far (4). My stays in November just posted to my credit card on 12/3, this has caused issues with getting these transaction coded as they impact the budget for the various projects I support.
I had to make a quick trip up to Napa for the weekend, kind of last minute. I just needed a place to sleep and wanted a reasonable rate, since I would not be there to enjoy the room much. Check in was quick and easy. Convenient continental breakfast (better than most). Beds were clean and very comfortable, maybe I shouldt have been, but I was impressed. I would stay here again. Large parking lot was a plus and the guy at the counter was very friendly and helpful. Fairly calm and quite here too.
Booked this room to fly in/out of SFO as everything in the area was booked at the time. It is in a smaller town and the area seemed a bit unsafe. The parking lot was FULL and was seemed like workers mainly stayed here with big trucks. Garbage strewn about in the (outdoor) corridors and parking lot. Also many people in hanging out in the parking lot. The view is an electric power plant directly across the way. The front office actually closes and no one is on site during the evening and early morning. So if you need to leave a bit before breakfast hours no coffee for you or a receipt. The room was average seemed a bit dingy. Wouldn’t recommend this hotel and will not be returning.
When I arrived I was welcomed by a friendly nice lady at the front desk. They all were very helpful and nice. The room was great and newly renovated!! They had a good amount of pillows and the bed was very comfortable. The room had a very nice brand new flat screen. I loved the hotel it was in a good location for me too.
Very nice and clean. Looks like upgraded rooms. Bathroom is spik and span. Loads of electric sockets. The room smells very nice. Plenty of storage space for overnight or longer stay. Close to John Muirs old abode, which I plan to visit tomorrow if I can make some time. Best of all, FREE Hot Breakfast from 630-930 am! Heheh.
We stayed at this hotel since it was a reasonable distance from the Bay Area. The room was adequate since we only wanted a place to sleep. The breakfast was a disappointment knowing what to expect from Choice Hotels. My husband I were at breakfast about 1 hour after the opening hour. What a mess at the waffle machine, batter all over the area. There were no yogurts, pastries or sliced bread. We interrupted the one staff person heavily involved with his phone to get an attitude. He eventually came and put out a couple of things and walked around the room. Did not bother to clean up the area at the waffle maker, empty or change the small trash containers or wipe down any tables that were previously used. When checking out had the same attitude about being interrupted. Not interested how our stay was or any interaction. Since we only came to sleep it met our basic need.
I was given a very clean room AFTER I told front desk that our original room wasnt cleaned yet. Both front desk employees speak at about a 2nd grade English level. The breakfast was never restocked so, at 8:00, there was hardly anything left. The eggs and sausages looked questionable and tasted worse. Couldnt figure out how to use the shower and the front desk was no help at all due to the language barrier. There is still dirty underwear outside my room since at least yesterday. I wont ever stay at this location again. Complete BS. Stay at the super 8 next door.
Very friendly staff. Very, very clean room with lots of outlets. Very clean bathroom. All furnitures looks upgraded. Good choice of channels on the TV. And the free American breakfast was tasty and filling. Good choice of tea, juice. Had yogurt, fruit juice on tap, waffle machine, scrambled eggs and sausage. Two kinds of bread and toaste, butter and jam.
One of the nicest Quality Inns Ive stayed at and I travel over 60 nights a year. Its not fancy, but lets face it, its a quality inn. However, the most important things hit the mark. Very Clean, great bed and pillows, modern decor (love the clean tv remote) and plenty of outlets for your various charging needs. I was very impressed. Hopefully they can keep it in the same condition for years to come.
The bathrooms were cramped even for none person, cleaning was a little shabby because there had been a half-empty beer bottle behind the curtains, sheets were uncomfortable, time slot for complimentary breakfast was short. The air conditioning was nice, WiFi was OK, and TV was nice.
This place was EXCELLENT!!! The rooms were cleans, shower were hot, and the staff was very nice, especially the New GM Derrek, he is justt wonderful.. He really has improved the place 100%. I will definitely put this down as the best place to stay, when i am in the area again.
Second stay at this establishment. All the in-room amenities that you get at establishments that charge twice as much - refrigerator, microwave, TV/remote. Very clean, tidy and comfortable room. I was pleasantly surprised for the price.Best to arrive early for best parking choices in the lot. While there appears to be ample parking, not all spaces are adjacent to the rooms. Parking lot appears secure with fencing around area, only access is via the drive thru entrance.Staff was courteous and friendly.Didnt use the Wifi, but was told it was available (pw given at checkin).Fast food (Jack in the box) within short walking distance. Worked for me. There is also a Dominos Pizza, a chinese food place and a 7-11 (snacks/sodas/etc..) within walking distance. Also a donut shop which was open when I left (5am) the next morning.Parking lot could be repaved, some of the pavement surface is starting to show signs of wear.I was aware of some slight traffic noise from the adjacent street. But the configuration of the entrance seemed to help mute the sounds. I thought it would be an issue, but when I retired for the evening it did not keep me awake. I will stay at this facility again.
Absolutely disgusting! The bedding was stained and gross. The floors leave your feet/socks completely black. They didn’t even fully clean the room. Both of the rooms they gave us were this way. The 1st one the bathroom sink was flooding the floor. The rooms stink. Absolutely disgusting!!!
The Quality Inn in Martinez is the best motel in town in my opinion. The management was great to work with. We had to stay for an extended period and they tried to work with us. The breakfast food is mediocre, but we made it work. The room service staff was exceptionally nice and the rooms were always clean.
I have stayed here 4 times all with good results. Rooms are clean but carpet does need to be cleaned as there are a number of construction workers that stay here and drag in allot of grime. Some of the luggage throws on the bed really need to be cleaned as they are gross and very dirty.Internet is very slow at times
This hotel has a nice lobby, a quick check-in (before 3pm, thank you!) and a really comfy bed. The room was clean, and we got a room far from the street, so it was fairly quiet, except for the guy in the truck who was upstairs from us who left at 2:30 am. It was also pretty convenient to get to, once you spot it after the neighboring hotels sign.
1. The carpet is absolutely filthy. You can see the dirt covering it. Walking around on the carpet turned the soles of our feet black. We wore shoes at all times after noticing that. 2. Our neighbors partied all night, and stood right outside our door smoking. My 4 year old daughter has asthma, so we complained about the smoking to the management. They did nothing, and the neighbors continued to smoke outside our door for the next four nights we were there. 3. Parties went on all night at this place. There is no sound proofing. 4. The maids seemed to give up after our first two days there. They quit replacing soap and cups. One day we came back to find one of our beds unmade, presumably because our daughter left her backpack on it. We would have left this dump after our first night there, but we had already paid in advance for five nights. Really can’t express it strongly enough: this place is a dump. Do not stay there.
Bed was fine, shower was great, room was nice. Wifi was good enough.Breakfast however, was terrible.1) This QI starts breakfast at 6:30 on weekdays, which is atypical; it typically starts at 6:00 at other QIs.2) It wasnt even ready at 6:30. It seems this hotel was trying to skimp on staff and had only one person working the front desk and putting breakfast together. They even had the lobby door locked so all the construction crew workers were milling around confused.3) The eggs were still partially frozen. The orange juice was really really watered down (I expect some watering down at QI but this was audacious). There was a thing for cereal; Raisin Bran Crunch and Frosted Flakes; there were FF in the RBC side and nothing in the FF side. Utensils were lacking.4) Not everything was out even at 645; maybe the hotel is also trying to save money on food costs by not having breakfast ready for the early rising construction crews.I didnt even bother getting any breakfast my second day (I guess their strategy worked!).
The staff was exceptional which made the whole experience bearable. The outside area was disturbingly filthy but fortunately the rooms were clean inside. There were several shopping carts abandoned under the stairwells. It was quiet and comfortable at night. When we went for breakfast, the waffle batter dispenser fell apart releasing a very questionable appearing batter all over. We tried the orange juice which did appear to contain some pulp but did not taste like any orange juice I had ever tried before. We decided to stick with the commercially packaged items like instant oatmeal and yogurt.
This is an older building, but has undoubtedly been given a recent updating. Easy to locate off the freeway and even though we got into town early in the fay, they let us check in as soon as our room was prepared which we really appreciated since we had been in the road since early morning. Lovely personnel and great facilities.
Theyre amazing here! Do not listen to the other low ratings they mustve had different owners when those people stayed here or something because the people that work here are awesome. They are SO incredibly helpful and kind and the rooms are beautiful. Out of the HUNDREDS of different hotels Ive stayed in (high end and cheap ones as well) this is by far my husband and Is favorite and weve stayed here on and off for over 2 weeks and we wouldnt stay anywhere else now. The rooms are super clean, they have breakfast every morning, and the beds and pillows are by far the cleanest, fluffiest, and most comfortable Ive ever had in a hotel! Every experience possible with this place and the friendly staff that work here have been perfect. Im absolutely shocked that they dont have a 5 star rating. The pictures dont do it justice. This hotel is amazing and my husband and Is ONLY single complaint is that we didnt know about them sooner!!! :)
The price was good, location good. Breakfast, got there a little after 9, stops at 9:30 not much left. No bread at all. The parking area is a mess, beer bottles all over, looked like a party hotel. I told the clerk and he said that part is county owned. I said it would be worth their while to at least pick up all the beer bottles. It was maybe 6 feet RIGHT in front of the cars, it could be done easily. That translates to me they dont care.
We had 5 in our room. There were only 2 towels. When my mother went to the front desk to get more towels, the gentleman working the front desk told her there were towels in the room. She explained there were 5 of us and only 2 towels. He was not happy about having to give us 3 more towels. He didnt want to give us anything extra. Not very friendly. Do not recommend this hotel!
Much more than you would expect for the low price: quiet, well furnished accommodations, all appliances working well and up to date, great television, excellent bathroom supplies. Friendly but not intrusive staff. Tiny but clean and accessible swimming pool. Will definitely choose this again if I am in the Martinez area
This hotel is very clean. Our room was very clean. The beds were comfortable. The bathroom was very clean. I dont have anything negative to say about the room. I would like to see healthier breakfast items. I think the breakfast items were typical for a continental breakfast. It wasnt bad, I would just like to see healthier breakfast food.
The location is excellent and their price the most affordable around. Our room was pretty nice and very clean. There are many dining options to consider nearby as their advertised full breakfast was unavailable due to the covid and so was the pool/hot tub area. It was fine though and we will stay with them again!
I stayed two nights at this hotel, and as a frequent business traveler I liked the value the hotel provided for its location. Rooms were clean and comfortable, internet connection was decent (although a pain to log into), TV, bed and bathroom were good as well. My only complaint is the breakfast. I can honestly say that in the many hundreds of nights Ive spent in hotels in the past six years, this was the worst breakfast I have ever encountered. The hot foods (sausage links and some sort of egg patty) were virtually inedible they were so overcooked. The sausage literally was a petrified log. A couple of half-loaves of bread in a lonely looking bread container, one white and one supposed to pass for wheat. A waffle maker that was the main attraction because it was the only thing worth eating. A few sweet rolls and coffee.
After booking I made a direct contact with hotel and was promised a bottom floor room. When arrived there was no bottom room available however the next morning a bottom room was made available. The hotel manager was moved to another room making his room available. On the second day the heater/air conditioner broken and flooded one side of the room and the same day we received no room service. The third night went by with nothing going wrong. The hotel did give us a much better nightly rate. The staff were very friendly and apologized for our troubles.
The management of this hotel is horrible! We could not get a 4th towel in a room rented for 4 people. We ask3d each day and were told they dont do that. We could not get breakfast with 45 minutes left in the breakfast hours. The second day, we asked for them to make more and the housekeeping staff came in and ate before us, while we were sitting at a table waiting. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone! We stay at Choice Hotels everywhere we go. This was by far the biggest disappointment. It is definitely not up to your Q standards.
So disappointed & what a waste of my money. Rooms were filthy and smells like cigarettes. Cigarette butts all over the ground in front of the doors parking lot was filthy and littered with garbage. Room was filthy dirty towels left in room along with no Kleenex is our coffee supplies or anything in the bathroom. Staff was rude when these issues were brought to them refuse to change her room all they did was come in and spray the room with stuff.
Came in for a job interview and this place was one of the few hotels in the area with a room. Very dull nightly desk staff, poor attitude and was on YouTube watching some Bollywood clip in his sweats.Room was clean, bring earplugs because the refrigerator compressor is deafening. The breakfast was bad. Juices watered down, hot selections were scarcely edible, but if you eat toast and cereal there, youll be ok.Good location, but strongly recommend avoiding this Quality Inn unless youre desperate for a hotel in Martinez.
The worst experience ever. The room was flirty upon arrival and the carpet had nasty stains everywhere. A/C never cooled the room to a comfortable temperature. It was almost impossible to get ahold of someone at the front desk, after many attempts and hours later I did speak with someone BUT no one ever came to fix THE MATTER so it was extremely hot and humid. Also there wasn’t a not a working smoke alarm in the room, I would think that’s important, fire regulation and above all state mandate for hotels to be up to date?!?!? I’m from Las Vegas and for everyones safety and well being that’s the law their but who knows how strict Californias laws are?? On the other hand, I noticed majority of the guest left their doors open and trash all the hallways to were everyone could see into others rooms and it felt very unsafe. I will never be staying here again nor will I recommend this place to anyone I know. I was told upon check in I would be getting a discount price but to my surprise it was the full price. No discount given. NEVER GAIN, DO NOT STAY AT THIS QUALITY INN.
I stayed in room #234 Dec 10-12, 2018. The Carpet is so dirty that my white socks turned black. I gave them to the front desk man when I checked out. He said he would show them to the owners. When I stayed in July at the same Quality Inn, I stayed in the same room, #234. I had the same experience. My white socks were black from the dirty carpet. I would have thought you would have shampooed the rug by now.I request compensation.
This place is a dump. Pool was broken. Bath tub would hold water. Light bulbs were missing. The staff told us there was no maintenance on staff so we would have to change rooms. Breakfast is vending machine pastries. When I said we wanted to leave the hotel the lady got really upset. Had to talk to the manager to get it resolved. I guess you get what you pay for.
Seems to be reasonably priced when comparing the quality of the hotel versus all the other options of hotels. Pretty nice rooms for a quality inn. Clean room, comfortable bed, flat screen tv. Only downfalls I see is that the 2 bed rooms are kinda small and not sure about the single bed rooms. Also with the big tonka work truck I have to drive is kind of hard to enter and exit the hotel.
The hotel was ok from the outside. The parking situation is very small tight spaces. The rooms where clean but the bathroom towel rack was broken, the door knob was loose, floors were uneven. I requested for a wheel chair access down stairs unit but the guy in the office said that there wasnt anything available downstairs, so we had to talk to someone else an hour later to get our room changed.
Found the desk clerk Cal to be very attentive, friendly and professional giving me a comfortable stay many amenities provided in room for iron & iron board blow dryer refrigerator and microwave Direct TV left a little be desired basic channels are available just use to Xfinity it did not stop me from watching it. Had a little problem with WiFi but with help got it to work enjoyed my stay.
The room wasnt bad. The hotel noise was ridiculous. Absolutely horrible service. By 8am everything in the breakfast area was gone. When I asked the staff to replenish food and beverages they acted annoyed. It took half an hour to get toast put out, coffee, apple juice and 3 danishes. And the entire time he was on his cell phone. Hotel was full so numerous people were walking in lobby for breakfast and then walking right out because there was no food. Would not recommend staying here.
Place was ok, front desk staff didnt explain where breakfast was and what time it was, had to find out this information on my own. When I went to breakfast it was horrible, extremely limited choices, no English muffins, bacon, or hash browns. The stuff they called sausage either had no meat in it or was somebodys leftovers made to look like sausage, I didnt try it, it looked awful. The hotels clientele was interesting, and kind of gangster, thug like, was worried I may be robbed, jumped, or accosted when I got out of my car and went to my room. The concrete hallways and stairs were filthy, the path to the ice machines were filthy as well, with garbage from the garbage can overflowing. A disappointment for sure!
This 2-story hotel is aging. The parking lot was filthy. The breakfast experience left much to be desired. Our room was clean, the bed OK. But I would not stay here again. It was pricey for what was delivered. The WiFi was inoperative--though it was supposed to be fixed by after midnight.
I had a room where the A/C broke. There wasnt anything they could do about it so late at night. I was forced to sleep with the window opened on the lower floor. Derrek was told about this the next day, but nothing was done to correct the problem and I did not return back till 11PM. Also,I asked the maids for towels, garbage change, and bed maid and they skipped my room completely. Never again.
The morning staff were incredibly rude to us. We were a little behind with getting checked out and at 11:10am our room phone rang. I answered and a very rude voice barked out “Checkout is 11 o’clock! It’s 11:10!!” I apologized and said we’d be right down and she just hung up. No greeting, no introducing herself, no checking to make sure we were okay. Who talks to people like that? I understand reminding people what the checkout time is, but the way she went about it was unprofessional and rude. It left us with an awful feeling, we will never be back as long as she’s working there.
This is the best place to stay, great and friendly staff. The exterior of the hotel looks old but the rooms are clean and good. I stayed in lot of hotels in the bay area and i prefer quality inn. Before making the reservation i have looked at some bad reviews but its absolutely wrong.
This was one of the worst hotels Ive stayed in. The desk clerks were not at the desk upon arrival and I couldnt get them to solve any of the problems I had. In fact they never checked to make sure things were fine. I finally gave up telling them about anything wrong with the room because they never took care of the problem. I wouldnt recommend anyone staying at this hotel. The only good thing was it wasnt far from my family. And parking was at a minimum. Fortunately, I didnt have a car if I did I wouldnt have found parking at night since all the spots were full. Several spots were taken up by buses that didnt park in a busing section.
I had a couple next door having very loud sex with walls shaking on and off till past midnight. On the other side I was woken up by loud screaming arguing door slamming at 6am then around 7am I had someone try to enter my room.a few minutes later an employee angrily knocks on my door and questions me. Turns out the front desk attendant I checked in with did not enter me into the system and the room was marked as empty due to no show in the system. Worst experience staying in a hotel ever. At least the room was clean.
We checked in on a Wednesday. Our room had dirty sheets and 1 coffee pod when our other room had the full amount. The toilet is broken, it completely moves every time you sit on it. I had to go to the store and buy bathroom cleaner and clean the shower. The pool is closed down due to a failed health inspection. They do not clean the rooms in between stays. When we were checking out, my mom left a tip in the room. We watched the maid go in, take the money and leave without cleaning the room. At night we went to call the office to get the wi-fi code, the phone does not work. So we call with our cell phones and the phone just rings and rings, they never answer. My husband goes to the office and gets the code and to get more coffee pods, the guy at the desk has no clue where they are, my husband has to tell him where they would be kept. He never answers the phone and keeps the front door locked. We needed to check out a day early so we go tell the guy at the front desk and he says we will not get our money back for the night we wont be staying. This is not normal practice for a Choice hotel. He says its the owners rule, so I ask for his number. I call him and explain the situation, he continues to ask personal questions about my plans and my health and says he will call back in an hour. He never called back. Upon check out, the front desk agent says he spoke to him and he still said no. This place is run down and dirty with very BAD business practices. You will be better off staying somewhere else. My husband is a former Choice employee and he knows the standard operating procedure and we are very disappointed in how this property is run and it is the worst customer service experience you will ever receive.
Ive now stayed at the Quality Inn in Martinez many times. It has been my good to place when the demands of my job and long commute simply require staying in town and getting a good nights rest instead of fighting the poor weather and/or clogged freeways. Staff is always friendly, parking is ample but can be tight if full, rooms are always clean and comfortable.
A little far from where i wanted to stay (Napa) but there were no rooms there and I was told to avoid Vallejo. Comfortable beds. i thought it was a decent deal. seemed to be plenty of parking (free). Carpets looked a little dirty, as if workers had been staying and their work boots had grease or tar, but not old and worn carpet. Martinez seemed to be a calm little town, but i was only there for one night.
So hotel appears to be newly remodeled but they havent put much money into running it. They only gave decaf coffee to the rooms because they didnt have any regular. Breakfast fell way below expectations. After moving three times we finally got a room we could stay in even though the air-conditioning water leaked all over the floor.
The pool was closed by the health inspector for our entire stay. The wifi had a login system was a pain to keep logged in but was fast enough when it worked. There was enough variety at breakfast that I didnt get horribly sick of it, although the quality was what your expect from a free hotel breakfast. The waffle maker was always a hit.
Front desk staff were terrible dont answer phone, when i walked down to desk to see why, I see the young man running in the front door with Jack in the box bag. No smile no welcome, they made you feel like their phone and computer was more important then answering your questions.Breakfast not stocked.hotel was full of workers not tourist, drinking and smoking on the walkways and not cleaning up after theirselves, loud and scary
Room 127 had the sink leaking so they moved us to room 128. Carpet in both rooms were covered in grease or tar like if prior guests had walk on recently paved roads. Seems like they didnt clean up after the previous guests. There was still trash in the trash cans and next to the bed.
Nice clean room but breakfast room was absolutely disgraceful with food rubbish piled high and overflowing the bin and all over the floor. Food not stocked. We had to go and collect more linen. 3 adults check in and linen for two in the room. Easy access and quiet surroundings.
The Quality Inn in Martinez, Ca. is the worst possible hotel to stay. Not only were we locked out of our room during our three day stay, but the temporary rooms offered were dirty and smelled of cigarettes and marijuana. Their were cigarette butts all along the walkway to the rooms and even a plunger to a syringe. Towels were outside one door for 2 days. The staff and especially the owner were non compliant with Quality and their attitudes were awful. I will never stay at another Quality Inn again!!
Title is indicative of the sign at the pool/spa gate. Something to the effect of pool closed by order of the health department. There is a wooded area adjacent to the property that looks that some homeless persons use which raises the thought of security. Appears the structure is an older motel being updated. Motel staff was very attentive and pleasant.
Outside there is trash everywhere and walls of building are disgusting. Breakfast was not there. Came in 30 minutes before end and had no fruit, No danish, not much of anything left. Eggs that were left were burnt from being in container way to long, sausage was too, dried out and nasty. Asked for new stuff and was denied. Complained to Micheal Ari and he actually laughed at me! Bright side the bed was comfy but dont take your socks off to walk around, they will get dirty from the carpet!
Clean rooms. Presentable and convenient location off freeway. Late check-in was a problem. Nobody answered the door for 10 minutes. The quality of the breakfast was poor. Unusual for a choice hotel. Probably wont stay again unless I know these problems have been resolved.
Check in is 3 room wasnt ready until 7 pm. Breakfast was a joke.doesnt have ever thing they say. No fruit, yogurt, milk was warm coffee cold no eggs and sausages orang was juice water down. very dirty asked if he can clean it we got yes yes. He never cleaned it . Its a no smoking place.i think every guest was smoking. my room smelled like smoke .coudnt use the ac because ppl smoking. Pool was closed no mention any where asked about it thats when I was told its closed. I left all day Sunday came back around 5 pm my room wasnt clean had to ask for towels and clean it my self..I think they need to lower the price its not worth it.not a place to recommend for any of my friends or family.
When we first get into the room, we saw several spiders. Im allergic to spiders and there were some crawling on my pillow. I obviously freaked out and my friend has to kill them.Later, when I decided to take a shower, I noticed there were absolutely NO towels, soap, etc. in the bathroom so my friend had to go out and ask the front office clerk. The clerk made him follow him around the entire hotel looking for a towel in storage, and they found nothing. They finally just decided to enter a vacant room and he only gave him ONE towel (theres two of us).The next morning, there was no one to check us out. I waited several minutes and no one showed up!I would not recommend this hotel to anyone in the future.
Wifi just does not work. I`ve talked to reception to ask for another room but they said wifi is very bad in all rooms. So slow that you need to turn it off and use celular data. Problem is that T-Mobile coverage here is also very bad so you get stuck in the room looking at the celling, horrible. People who stay here only have internet to get entertained, since this is a small town isolated area. If you can`t use internet no matter what you do to improve your room the guest experience will still be very poor. I`m staying here for over a week for work but will have to move to another hotel with better wifi.
It surverd our needs but the breakfast was way below Choice standards. We had to ask for fresh eggs and Danish and were told OK, Ill make more eggs but bread is all we have. The waffle machine was a mess and so we just gave up. We have found the breakfast at other Choice hotels to be a real treat and very welcome.
I am almost tempted to give this place 2 stars just because you should expect what you pay for and this is the cheapest place around but they are deceptive in their advertisements so they get 1. Look closely at pictures they put up online and youll see that they very poorly photo-shopped it to look like they recently paved their parking lot. In reality, the lot looks like it hasnt been paved in a few decades. Their continental breakfast they set out for everyone in the hotel was a basket that had a single banana and 2 pre-packaged apple danishes. The door had very large gaps and I had cigarette smoke pouring into the room multiple times a night. One of the lights in my room was broken. A hole was drilled through the door and covered only with a small piece of wood and a couple screws which was done intentionally at some point to enable somebody to open the door even if the safety latch was closed. The towels were paper thin and as rough as sand paper. All in all, the entire place looked very run down and in desperate need of many repairs and a good cleaning.
My son was in the hospital down the road from the Quality Inn in Martinez. At around 11:00 I went looking for a hotel. The first one was shady and only had a smoking room. The second one had a ditzy front dest clerk and had a semi-smoking room and was what I thought was expensive. The Quality Inn was next door and had looked so much nicer I thought it would be really expensive. It was $40 cheaper and sooooo much classier.Very nice front desk staff. I will go straight there again if I need to stay overnight in Martinez.
Would not honor our reservation once we got there. We drove from Reno Nevada to go to a concert in Concord CA and my parents had made the reservation for us and was going to pay for our room, and my mom had stated that fact numerous times to the man she spoke to & was told we only needed to bring a printout of the reservation & my husbands drivers license. When we got there they said they needed my moms id, & her credit card & some authorization form. I called my Mom & she spoke with the man at the desk & he just kept arguing with her about everything so I made him cancel the reservation & left. My mom looked at the website and seen they were sold out! I believe he had rented our room to someone else and thats why he kept arguing with us. I will never stay at a Quality Inn again, especially there in Martinez CA.
Horrible rooms where smelly the first room TV was broken second room had bed bugs and I have photos 3rd room had a needle with what appeared to be heroin I was over the to they didnt give me another room they didnt try to remove it and I still want my money back they offered me a free night I turned it down do not stay at this place

2021-12-15Great experience with such a great staff. Especially huge thanks to Isabelle and Tony for great customer service. They always made sure that we were comfortable and happy. Housekeeper lady was also so friendly and always had a huge smile on her face. Quiet and comfortable room with plenty space. Pillows made me sleep more than I wanted, so comfy :) We will definitely come back.

2022-06-14Not sure where to start. Booking went flawless but the night we arrived is where it all went sideways. 5 minutes before our arrival (which Im pretty sure Shah wasnt expecting us to be that close) called to say our reservation was cancelled. Like todays idiotic reasons, he played stupid as to why it was cancelled. Choice is cracking down on hotels like these who cancel reservations when they find out events are in the area and upcharge the rooms they cancelled for the evening. To boot the manager tried to claim no knowledge of cancellations. The fact that the manager is clueless to cancellations of reservations is a perfect indicator of what your overall experience might lead to. Youve been warned. We had to find another Choice hotel 30 minutes away and $50 more. Im still a Quality Inn fan, just not EVER this one. The total upside is Choice is making it right by giving me a free night and logging a report on this location. This is becoming a more frequent problem with some of these franchisees

2022-03-25I was hesitant to book after reading many of the reviews, especially about the conditions of the room but so glad I did. I had such a great stay and experience. My room was in great condition and the staff was super friendly and accommodating. I dont usually post reviews, but wanted to share given I was previously hesitant.

2022-04-01I wish I read the reviews before staying. Got to my room and noticed a hole in the restroom door. I wanted to report it before I was charged for it. As I looked for the phone to call front desk I found a box of old food in the drawer. No phone so I went down stairs to take them the trash and report the whole. Got back to my room to realize only one bed had a blanket. A bit later I noticed there was no iron. I went down stairs to ask them for an iron. The staff was a bit rude and he said there should be one in the room. I said there is not one. He said he will look for one I said ok but he can bring it to my room because he can’t call my room cause it’s missing that too. This morning our remote was not working, I asked if they can bring one up and they said they could not but can at 8am which is in 45 mins.ridiculous hotel. Owner needs to stay on these reviews and do something about it

2022-02-06No tv signal. Door would not lock. Filthy. Cleaning rag left in bathroom. Exposed wire hanging from ceiling. Outlets missing covers. Half used toilet paper. Check in lady is sloooow. Sheets had ashes on it and burn holes. Very wrinkled. Very old and outdated, not kept up at all. Should have just slept in my truck.

2022-04-30Dont expect a warm welcome here, or any welcome at all. Staff really impart a feeling that you are a burden. Not a good stay, unless you dont mind feeling like youre living in an abandoned motel, and can overlook filthy walls, and dirty linens.

2022-05-19This was the worst Choice Inn I have ever been to.I give it zero stars. Exterior is trashy with garbage cans filled to the brim, cigarette buts all over and leaves and trash lying on the ground. Staff non responsive. Interior floors filthy never been cleaned from the looks of it. Pee spots and droplets by toilet. Pills lying on the floor. Bathroom door bashed in, not shower curtain. Not the best location - could tell drugs in the area. The bottom line was the supposedly breakfast as advertised and shown in their pics on the website. Luke warm coffee and waffles - that was it. Nothing else -juice rolls, yogurt, etc. The owner should be ashamed of themselves to have this bad of a property. When asking the desk staff of the conditions they were no responsive. DO NOT STAY HERE! Run away

2022-04-23Manager bella who was marching around, set of keys jingling on her hip, and clearly feeling very important, very rude to me. I was dumping the melted ice( also known as water) on to the ground out of my Yeti. It had rained the night before. She asked me if I had put the water on the ground I looked to where she was pointing cuz I thought maybe she meant a bottle of water and I frowned because I didnt see anything then I wondered if she meant the water on the cement and Im thinking no God put it there its from rain but I kept mum...Then she demanded to know what I was doing if I was making a mess. I said its water. it evaporates. Im thinking you have nothing to do, do you and I look at her incredulously. She then eyes my activities& asked me if I had a room there and I said not today, no, but many many times in the past I have. then she told me she didnt want to see me there again to which I responded the feeling is very mutual I dont want to see her there again either. But we dont always get what we want, do we Bella.
