Decent bowling alley with 32 lanes. Shoes are nice, place is clean. Some of the arcade games were not working. Food from Jerrys deli attached is ok. The wings were just barely average. They have daily specials like most bowling alleys and do the galactic bowling thing as well.
I go here a lot occasionally when I do events with club LA which is part of the help group I first met my second ex-boyfriend here and we started to get to know each other and that’s when we dated and he loved me and I’m really sad that the memories have gone away but I’m hoping things will get better for both of us either way this is the best bowling alley I’ve ever been to out of the bowling alleys that my friends go
Honestly this place is just a money grab. For starters, theres a disproportionate price scheme. There is no set price for a lane, they charge per bowler, so if you bring a group be prepared to pay a fortune. For a group of 5, it cost 67$.Every additional game, was 8$ per a bowler. Perhaps thats the standard for LA bowling but it was far higher than Ive ever seen at a bowling alley.Secondly, the food is insanely priced. 6 hot wings (small choice) begin at 9.25$. However, if you do the (large choice) you get 8 wings for 14.25$.Im not sure if the math immediately makes sense but thats an extra 5$ for 2 more wings. It wasnt specified until after one our members had already ordered from the kiosk.Lastly, the grab machine, or claw, whatever you prefer to call it, will set you back 7$ per a play. I was in total disbelief on the prices here.Luckily it was a group of friends because this is definitely not designed for family friendly unless you are looking to drop around 150$ for a family of 5.Anyways, its just my opinion and my experience but feel free to give it a chance yourself.
Went there today April 25 2021. Was so looking forward to bowling after a year and a half of not being able to bowl. upon entering there was 1 person arrogantly refusing to wear a mask. After threatening to calll police the security guard asked them to mask up or leave. Later 3 guys were bowling together without masks. Security guard and staff ignored the group till I made a big deal out of this problem. The manager was arrogant the staff was arrogant. Stay away from this place till they learn how to conduct business in a post pandemic environment. SHAMNE ON YOU GUYS
I had to give the place a star to write a review, but actually its in the no star category.Ive had several terrible experiences there.Just prior to new years I had the shock of the day when the disrespectful teenager behind the counter basically told me that it was company policy and that he could not call me a taxi. Some days later a different person behind the counter gladly called me a cab.In early March I was shocked when not a vending machine in the place was working .Tough luck if youve got a thirst on.The final straw for me was a few days later after completing 5 games I was approached by a young man who identified himself as a mechanic and he informed me that his manager had directed him to show me out and request that I not return.Of course I asked why.He responded that management had on a previous occasion taken me aside and reprimanded me about my abusive behavior.Heres the thing. ...no such event ever happened. I am a senior who takes pride in all of my behavior. I try to start with a please and I end with a thank you. Again it never happened. No abusive behavior no reprimand. I requested he view the tapes to confirm it was a case of mistaken identity.Needless to say he would not.Needless to say I did not ask them to call me a taxi.I left with as much grace as I could muster.I have two prosthetic hips less then two years old and I bowl and Im not bad.Pinz irresponsible behavior caused me great embarrassment and humiliation and no company that behaves their way should be patronized.
The Pinz Bowling Place is pretty okay. The food is great and the employees are very nice. Also to add there an arcade full of fun games. The prices are pretty good depending on how many people there are and how many rounds you play. But my one big problem is that it is always busy. Completely filled. For me the busiest days are Sunday and Monday. But overall they are pretty good.
I dont think Ive ever seen such egregious pricing for a bowling lane. I bowl quite often, at several different lanes. $75+ for one game for 4 people is beyond lunacy. No I didnt come during peak hours or anything. I can only assume this is standard prices. Ive had a lane for 2 hours and dinner for less than half. Dont even get me started on the menu. $21 for a sandwich and they still have the balls to charge $3.25 for fries.
This was my second time there and I must tell you the management is terrible. I complained about a few items and the manager behind the counter clearly did not care to even be bothered.. the area where the bowling balls were kept was completely empty. All of the lanes were full except for two and there were about at least 10 to 15 balls on every lane. Its not the customers responsibility to walk up to the bowlers at other lanes and ask which balls theyre using and which balls theyre not using. After that was finally settled which took about 12 minutes. My machine wasnt returning my balls. After another seven or eight minutes getting that problem resolved I walked up to the manager and ask him to add more time to our game because clearly this issue plus the other one had eaten up about 16 minutes. He said he would but didnt bother to do anything or say anything to us. We were there with her seven-year-old son and the facility wreaked of marijuana. Clearly there were several people smoking in there. All in all for the $65 I spent for 45 minutes of bowling for 3 people was absolutely ridiculous. The service was horrible on the management side. Never again
Theres nothing bad that I can say about Pinz. The atmosphere was what I expected. The music was a little weird for me but it was what everyone else wanted to hear. The parking lot is large, but the spaces are mostly for compact cars. We went on a Friday night around 10p and only waited about 20 minutes for a lane. so yes it was a great friday night
Not bad for a valley bowling alley. They did a great job with the lighting system. Place lights up at night.Fun for taking a group of friends to bowl. Able to order food and drinks from Jerrys. We bought 4 games. We came with 7 people. Its a reasonable price for bowling. The price to bowling is a lot everywhere. The bowling shoes are kept well and clean
Cool vibes with the lights, and arcade, the scoreboard background isnt customizable and we had a olympic theme which was pretty whack. The place is very family friendly and for a bowling place the shoes are better maintained. The bowling machines themselves are quick to set up the pins which I appreciated so the games went by quick.
Absolutely amazing! My daughter had her 16th birthday party there with 8 friends and they all loved it. I highly recommend ordering the food from the resturant next door, Jerrys. They will deliver it to the table where you are playing so you can eat and play! They also have very delicious appetizers.
Poor customer service. Hour of time paid and the lane was broken half that time. Asked for a refund, said they dont do refunds and only extend the time for 10 minutes (couldnt have even finished the game in that time). Asked for a refund again and the manager became quite rude about it. Wont be returning and I suggest you dont go either, overpriced for what it is (a bowling alley).
Limited vegan options. The environment has changed and not for the better.Update: On my most recent visit my veggie burger was mixed up with a regular burger. The waitress insisted that my order was correct. I disagreed so out comes the manager waving the beyond burger pamphlet in my face arguing that Im wrong. Im vegan and have beyond burgers all the time I think I might know. I will not be coming back, not for the bowling and much less for the food & service.
It was awesome, I just got out of work and my girl decided to take me out so I agreed and as soon as we came here on my left James Harden from the Houston Rockets was right there. He was very cool and the service there was great. Thank you Pinz for an amazing experience
Clean and well maintained. The requisite game room is there, but also a regular restaurant with table and chairs. What I liked is that, when I had an interview bowling am, I had to use the other arm, and so needed bumpers for a short while so I could continue to bowl with the kids and not get totally crushed. Those bumpers are programmable, so the others could play normally and give me a hard time.
I love this place. It has a very friendly surrounding. I went here with my friends and had an amazing expirience. My only complaint would have to be that i wish the lanes held more people. I love this place and all the memories i got to create here. Pinz will be my go to bowling alley from here on out.
Ever since the management changed this place has become a hell hole. Prices have gone through the roof for bowling and the arcade. Staff at the front desk are mediocre and not willing to help you. As for league, our practice time has been reduced from 10 minutes to only 5, thus making it harder to practice. New management has made this place uninviting to bowl or hang out at. The only person Id like to recognize is Barbara Lee, the league coordinator for her support. But for anything else Id go to Winnetka Bowl or Jewel City Bowl where the bowling alley is not as inviting but is cheaper and the service is better, Pinz just became the San Fernando Valleys incarnation of Lucky Strike.
Pros: clean lanes, cool atmosphere, good foodCons: VERY expensive food, expensive (bowling) games, mediocre music, and the worst was they make you buy bottled water (they wouldn’t give me a cup to take to the fountain)I was with a group of 7 people, who were all drinking and eating, and they refused to give me a cup of water in fear that I was sneaking alcohol... like really?New policies are needed. I Will not be returning.
The lanes at Pinz are great when in comparison to other alleys in the LA area. My gripe with Pinz is their association with the restaurant Jerry’s Famous Deli. A turkey sandwich costs over $20 and I would have been charged a fee if I wanted fries, instead of potato salad. Pinz should offer food that is exclusively available if you bowl, more in line with the prices you can typically find at a bowling alley.
Lanes broken, and customer service very poor. Im a trainer in customer service and Ill say this place needs to hire me and teach their employees great customer service. I go to tons of places across USA and never in my life experienced customer service this bad. I hope they close their doors and never open again.
Why are Open Play hours advertised and then not available? There is always a Private Party or League play going on every weekend. Where the f&*ck are people supposed to be able to bowl and have fun with their families if everything is always taken and you cant come bowl? Pinz blows. Someone needs to create a bowling alley that doesnt allow private Parties or League play.
So Jebal Fresh is a radio host up in the NW.. I’m a long time listener and recently had a visit to this place.. sounds like horrible customer service and making excuses for bad equipment and service by management. Apparently having a Wikipedia is important to get service with out a laugh at this place. You can find the experience on IG on his or by searching #pinzla. I know when I come back to LA to avoid this place. Very disrespectful as a company.
I wouldnt know how the place is since weve been turned away 4 times already. Every time we call or stop by the lanes are taken up by bowling leagues until 10:30pm, during the week. Weve tried different days but doesnt seem tomwork out for us. Even if this place is close to my house Im gonna have to find a different bowling alley to go to. I wanted to join a league but I dont want to be part of not letting others bowl. There should be two days days for leagues and the rest for the public, or leave some lanes open!!
Shockingly Bad Service! My girlfriend and I went here last night with a group of about 10 people. We could only stay for one game, and so we opted to only purchase one game instead of the more expensive all you can bowl option. However, when the names came up on our lanes, the 2 of us were listed in our own separate lane rather than with our friends, even though there was plenty of room for us there. We assumed this was a mistake and went back to the counter, where the service was immediately super defensive and almost-yelled at us that there was no way to change us to a different lane. We offered to pay the all you can bowl rate so that we could play with our friends, but they insisted this was not possible, moving from defensive to downright angry attitudes at a blistering pace! We were shocked- neither my girlfriend or I ever get into arguments with service, but we experienced what that is like last night becuase of how they treated us!Anyway, they absolutely refused a refund at this point, even though we had given up our shoes and lane without even stepping foot out there. Needless to say, we will charge this back using our credit card company. Too bad this had to be resolved this way rather than something civil!
Id give it no stars if possible. Food at the restaurant is WAY overpriced! I order water looked at the menu asked why it was so expensive. I got the I dont know, is it expensive? Yes its overpriced with no good reason. I walked out without ordering food. Wont go back!!!! I give the place another year.
This is the best bowling alley in L.A. featuring good arcades and a great retaurant in the alley that you can order from using the pad displayed conveniently right by your seat. You can also see pins signed by famous celebrates such as shaquel oneal among others. It is also one of the most iconic attractions in L.A.
Nvr has lanes available on sundays till after 9. Seems like everytime i go here on different days they have no open bowling. Food is horrifyingly bad. The most overpriced frozen junk food around. Like 9.00 for onion rings and $20 for low end Kroger sandwich meat. Its fun if u can actually get a lane though...
Great bowling alley in Studio City right behind Jerrys Deli. They have 32 lanes with electronic scoring, full bar and food service from Jerrys. Bowling balls and shoes are available for rent at a reasonable prices. The Alley is popular with several bowling leagues so double check lane availability.
Good place but a little bit to over-priced even the food so expensive everything I rather go to another bowling place what is good and whats not expensive the only reason why its so expensive is because celebrities are sometimes theyre like Kim Kardashians thats the only reason why lol
You took rockstars away and put mountain dew instead [=( ]. Ill tell you why, they are better in there. I know its expensive, but they are the correct cool. It tastes fives times better. I Would pay to cool it as that refrigerator did. That guy installing the sodas is sacred, the one with pen on his ear. He makes them catholic kosher. I am sad. There is frilled flag there, maybe its because there is water nearby(=).The atms close early and are imperfect so good. The staff are very sweet all of them , even the security. All the security are strong and sweet. The security are reasonable, Im still soft on them though. Lol, I loves 2 not enough Pinz Bowling Center, Studio City Branch. They are very sweet guys and gals. Obey the security though. They never touched me, they know how to talk.Thank you so much sacred security!!!!!*****There is a Star Wars Simulator there!Im at home, so. I still feel included. If you have a big chain, like too big to fit in your pocket, then leave it in your car. =)pope panther, pope discord for healing, son of goddess discordjia and her eternal loveing my father god.PS. It is sad friendlies in whittier closed, pinz is all I have. I will have to visit Friendlies grave one day. Please donate to open friendlies many times again.Pope Panther Fenderson,

2022-06-20This is a really great place to bowl! The atmosphere is literally perfect for bowling, they have an arcade, and they have food that they bring to your table! You scan the QR code on your lane for the menu and order on your phone and its delivered to you. The staff are super helpful and polite, which makes everything great! The pins sometimes fall down when being reset, but if you let staff know, they can fix it in three seconds. I highly recommend the sliders!!!

2022-03-07Fun place to bowl, but mix drinks are expensive. Better off ordering the beer, the beers were about $7. I ordered a Moscow mule and it was $15.

2022-03-12Kinda retro, but still a lot of fun. I think the drinks were really expensive. Ended up with a $200 bill for 4 of us and two rounds of alcoholic drinks.

2022-03-01Over priced food, beverage, and lane rate! you have to wait for about 2 hours to get in, in case you don’t make reservations in advance. Ball sizes are very limited. Overall, I was not happy with this place but it was clean and no weed smell!

2022-05-18Nice location with lots of bowling lanes. They have a bar, pub food and arcade with pool table. Ample parking as well.

2021-12-18Rates are way to high. $4.50 for a cup of soda that probably cost them three cents. I understand social distancing and precautions but I also understand GREED! We will find another place to bowl.

2018-09-16Pinz is attached to Jerrys Deli and the lanes are nice and they have a few video games that are working even though overpriced. Ive been to Jerrys over the years and have enjoyed their menu quite often. Problem is the food you order from Jerrys in Pinz comes as a to-go order is dropped off at your lane on to go containers and then forgotten. Also, and this seemed particularly ridiculous, but water is not allowed to be served at the lanes so you have to get tiny little paper cups that hold about 4 oz and have no bottom to sit down to drink out of if you want water. Alcoholic drinks and sodas are fine. It was an weird inconvenience. But the biggest irritation was the lane manager and the lane handling. After asking us how many games we wanted to play up front and insisting we give an answer even though we werent sure how many we were going to play, they came to the lane three tines asking us when we were going to leave during the two games that we had already prepaid. The lane manager who kept asking us when we were going to leave was more like insisting we leave as quickly as possible. They had a large party coming in and needed lanes in a row. It interrupted our game several times. When I asked him why he kept coming down he kept saying you understand like he wasnt listening or wasnt aware that we had purchased two games. Also the bowling balls were grossly dirty

2017-09-24Had a good time, lanes where good, plenty of bowling bowls sorted by size to use. Staff was friendly. Ordered food came quickly and was tasty.
