Pricey, but absolutely worth it. Great location, great views, great rooms, great restaurants nearby. Very dog friendly, including a welcome basket for our little pup and gave a list of restaurants that were also dog friendly. Our room had a petite balcony into the courtyard that felt very French. I only wish we could have stayed longer.
Great location and beautiful gardens right outside our patio door. Enjoyed the river walk. Had an issue with Black Tie taxi not showing up for a ride to formal gala which was very disappointing. However, employee Andrew Bermejo came to the rescue and took us to and from the gala on his own time!! Loved him for helping us out of a tight spot and cannot say enough good things about him! Look forward to coming back
False Fire alarm went off in the middle of the night, not once but three times as the hotel was not able to reset it to turn off. We were not able to be relocated to another room due to full capacity of the hotel, so we sat in the lobby until maintenance arrived to finally turn off the alarm. We were promised by the night manager, and two day managers that an adjustment would be made for the inconvenience and disruption of our sleep. It has been three days since the occurrence and no adjustment has been made to the credit card used to pay our stay. It is evident the management does not care about providing the best possible experience for their customers to be satisfied despite experiencing the inconvenience of disrupting their sleep in the middle of the night as well as their neighbors. There are many, many places to stay in NAPA, so don’t bother staying here to risk the possibility of receiving a bad customer experience.
Spent a week there in October, the location is phenomenal, can walk everywhere in downtown Napa... restaurants, shopping, etc. Youll be @ $600+ a night for a balcony room with a river view but very much worth it. Youre within a half hour of every winery in the Valley. Enjoy!
Pretty disappointing - would not recommend. Napa is filled with such great food and great wine, that you expect excellence. This was below average for a 4-star hotel anywhere in the USA.Location - 4/5 Not centrally located, but about 4 blocks from downtown Napa and most of the tasting rooms. It isnt that far, but when its 100 degrees out, its a far walk.Rooms - 1/5 Really outdated rooms. This place is in desperate need of a major renovation. We booked one of the nicest rooms in the hotel, and it was just really poor. Also, our River view was not much to look out, possibly because of the drought, but the busy street next to the river was a lot more dominating than the river itself.Service - 2/5 Way below par for a 4-star hotel. I dont want to get into it, but there were a lot of insufficiencies here.
A bit over priced. Staff need to pay attention to detail when bringing room service, bathroom conditioner bottle was dirty and the balcony could do with a clean and some cushions on the chairs. However we loved the room, fireplace, bed and furniture. Nice old classic feel.
Love this place. Location was perfect, walking distance to a lot of good food. The room was on the small side but clean and cozy. I love the small touch they do for you every day, from complimentary wine at the lobby, they was they prep your room for the night, organize your charging cables, etc. I love how they provide you with $10 credit per person for breakfast at a nearby cafe! Amazing menu options. Definitely worth the money!
I had a great time here. We had a room on the third floor overlooking the river. The room was nice, it had a gas fireplace that turns on with a light switch. The balcony has wisteria flowers covering it which smells nice, but also attracts bees, so we could only sit out there at night. It is a great downtown location which is walking distance to many restaurants and wine tasting places. Only a 7 minute walk from a liquor store if you want to bring something back to your room. I would definitely stay here again.
Just love the food here, the staff was awesome until we had our waitress she did not want to wait on us and waited on 3 other tables before asking us if we even wanted drinks, that was disappointing because we sat down first and needed to stay on schedule. We will give them 1 more try with fingers crossed for more observant wait staff.
Beautiful Clean Rooms, Comfortable Bed, Incredible Fluffy Pillows, Gorgeous View of the River, Walking distance to all Restaurants, Bars, Cafes, Lounges, Parks, Shops. The Garden is definitely stunning and very well maintained. We were very impressed and highly recommend.
Everything about this stay was outstanding. The staff were super helpful with check in and with getting us a variety of coupons for discounted tastings around Napa. The room was really cool - fireplace and all. The bathroom was very luxurious, and we really enjoyed the walkable location in Napa. The in-room breakfast (with an option to go down to the cafe directly) was outstanding. Wished we could have stayed longer!
First let me start with Sarah the person we made the reservation with. She was absolutely easy and wonderful to work with. When we got to the hotel Brianna was the next person that was so very sweet. We moved into a lovely room, that was was very cute. This was the last Hotel on our tour for our anniversary. After going to the Fairmont Inn Sonoma and also caneros in Sonoma. I guess expectations was a little too high. It was a very lovely place what fantastic customer service only thing is you can hear the person in the Next Room talking in a normal voice. When they got loud and excited we can hear every word that was said. Someone else close by we could hear them having intimate time... so we asked to be moved. Um we got moved to an older part of the hotel. All I can say is lots of wood and yellow wall paper.... well we thought we could at least get a late checkout... but noooo. Naomi responded back with a firm NO... OUR OTHER 2 PLACES WERE A 5 STAR. But our last one is a 4 for Sarah and Brianna and the Door guy Customer service was a 5, but that 2nd room....a 3.
Beautifully updated historical boutique style hotel located in close proximity to downtown. Surrounded by tons of dining options, and shopping. Overlooking the Napa River! We absolutely love this place and will definitely be back. Oh and the beds were as good as the Westin beds in our opinion. Anyone who has stayed at a Westin knows exactly what I’m talking about!
Amazing historic hotel!! Perfect location for walking downtown to amazing restaurant and wine tasting! Location on the Napa River with candy shop, bakery, restaurants, and market on property. Service from staff was absolutely fantastic! We will definitely be returning to the hotel.
Absolutely loved the property, but the staff is the star of the show - their service was truly outstanding! Everyone from staffers greeting me at the door to the manager walking me to my room were top-notch. We were very pleasantly surprised by their going out of their way to get us an early check-in and allowing me to work in the lobby. It didnt stop there - we got a glass of wine on check-in, as well as turn-down service. I was disappointed to have to leave! The Executive rooms are spacious, cozy, and spotlessly clean. Our room had a patio with sheltered view of and access to the Napa River walk. Sadly, these lovely rooms are still the exclusive culprit for the missing star. The lack of an in-room thermostat control for the air conditioning meant we had to get up in the night to turn it on and off. One minor note: not everyone was a fan of the square pillows.
An incredible experience! The room was beautiful with an incredible river view, with beautiful and comfortable furnishings. The people were friendly and helpful, and they went above and beyond what was necessary to make our anniversary stay special. Could not recommend this hotel any higher!
When we got suddenly evacuated without warning from our home in St. Helena due to the LNU fires, we didnt know where to go, but started heading toward Napa. I saw Napa River Inn had good reviews, and showed availability on Hotels.com, so decided to call just to check. When I asked about room availability, I got an icy reception: I dont know if we have any rooms. We are getting slammed right now.So I took a chance and booked on Hotels.com... seems they had rooms after all? Then we decided we needed to extend our stay... but having paid full price ($200+/night), and their rates going up to $292/night for the weekend, we let them know we were local evacuees. They didnt offer any discount at all, which was quite disappointing. If they had, this would be a 4-star review, but I have to review based in that full-price rate, and have to say that the quality is not quite up to the pricetag:1) There is a pretense of luxury, but not actual luxury. Slapping a label on generic shampoo that says Sparkling Champagne Shampoo does not actually make it higher quality. Similarly, the towels, furniture, bathroom hardware/shower are all fairly low quality. even the keycard locks on the doors weren’t working properly. (For most of our stay, we had to walk around to the back of the building to get in, and even then only my wife’s key card worked — mine did not.)2) Our room was nice... until evening rolled around, and large groups of low-class guests gathered on the patio area right outside our room, being loud and obnoxious into the night.3) There is chintziness and lack of consistency with things... they will provide in-room coffee only upon request (new covid regulations, so that is fine), but the first pack of coffee they gave us came with no sugars or sweetener of any kind; the second box did. Why? Similarly, my wife was provided cream with her breakfast tea one morning, but not the other 3 mornings. Why not?The location is quite nice, but if I had guests coming to visit, I would only recommend this place if they could get a rate under $200/night. For $1000 after being forced from our home, I expected better.
Was in town for a baby shower and stayed. The rooms are nice but the staff are what make this place special. Every interaction we had was great. You cant beat the location for access to restaurants and downtown Napa. The only draw back is the noise, you hear everything in the hall and our window faced a restaurant so we heard that too. Dont try to take a nap between 3-5pm, you hear every guest service round and arriving guest door slam. Despite that, Id stay here again.
Lovely establishment with great attention to detail. We stayed for my mothers birthday and they left a note and small gift in the room for her. It was so sweet! Not to mention the amazing breakfast from the local bakery, Sweety Pies that was delivered to our room in the morning. I would definitely recommend to anyone!
I dont think Ive ever had a hotel experience as pleasant as my stay at the Napa River Inn. The rooms are supremely comfortable, charming, and well appointed. The staff are super sweet, attentive to detail, and would greet me by name as I would smile in passing (and this was my first time at this hotel). The breakfast pastries, were amazing with the AM bun being the best. And the location is perfect, being on the river and walking distance to a variety of dining and libation options. I dont think I ever want to stay anywhere else when visiting Napa.
I stayed for a business conference and we really positively surprised.A great hotel, with really nice rooms. Would love to go here with my spouse. The location by the river is really great.Would have likes a better breakfast selection, but then again there are several places around where you can have breakfast outside.
We (couple) stayed for 3 days at the Napa River Inn and can absolutely recommend it.The hotel is an ‘old’ mill which as been ‘restored’ into a hotel, just next to the river. They have different room styles - from the ‘historic’ to ‘modern’ ones - so everybody should be able to find something according their expectations. We stayed in an executive room, which overlooks the river. The room has a good size for 2 persons, has AC and a fireplace (good idea for the cooler evenings!) and a specious bathroom with separate toilet. A beautiful room! The hotel provides twice/day service - which we did appreciate a lot.Located in the heart of Napa, restaurants and shops are all in walking distance, which is a great advantage when interested to ‘taste’ wine during lunch or dinner. We liked the hotel very much. Staff is very friendly and helpful. We can recommend it to anybody who wishes to stay for once in a historic location but with ‘todays’ quality and service.
Very nice hotel in the heart of Napa. The staff are super friendly, and the rooms nice. My wife and visited for our one year anniversary, and the hotel was kind enough to leave a bottle of wine and a fruit basket in our room, with a nice congratulations note. The only criticism I have is that the rooms dont have easy to access power sockets, making it awkward to charge your phone at night.
Beautiful place good location. We had a few problems with billing. We were being billed twice for a $270 portion of our reservation. If I hadnt of caught it then the charge would have been applied at checkout. Also, at the time of booking online, they offered upgrades and I added mimosas to be brought to the room in the morning for me and my wife for both mornings of our stay. I believe it was $19 per person per day. We never got these and were told we had to pay for them if we wanted them. Not sure why they have it as an room upgrade option while booking if we supposedly have to arrange and pay for the amenity again upon check in. Im certain I paid for that upgrade. I had an email conversation with an employee confirming my upgrade but unfortunately I cant retrieve it.The email confirmation is extremely vague and room cost on the conformation is less then the charge on my VISA.I dont believe these hiccups to be intentional but its a major inconvenience when your on vacation and in your room looking at your VISA statement trying to hash things out with the hotel staff. For the price I think things should be a bit more organized.Nothing was done to compensate for my headache or time wasted on these issues. Not an apology either.
This hotel was truly awesome, the service was so great and attentive, the rooms were fantastic and very very clean. The view over the river was peaceful and beautiful to wake up to in the morning. 10/10 will definitely be back again, matter of fact Im just going to watch the rates and when another great rate pops up were gonna book and it and come again!
The rooms are gorgeous, comfortable and very clean with a nice balcony with a great view of the Napa River. The location could not be better (center of downtown Napa) The most friendly and accomodating staff of any hotel Ive ever stayed at. Seriously this people go above and beyond to make your stay a very special one, not a single detail is overlooked here. A delicious complimentary breakfast is brought to the room each morning.
Great location, old building, new updates... Very pricey though... Unless you get a package deal, be ready to Shell out dough to stay here. However, having said that, it really feels wonderful, there is this old world feel to it as it is an antique mall turn modern hotel. They give a really great breakfast voucher to use at the neighboring Sweetie Pies restaurant... So you sort of feel justified having paid uber amounts for the room... Lol
Wonderful hotel in central location with beautiful rooms, fantastic service, tasty breakfast, and all the touches one would expect from a luxury accommodation. Walk to all the Napa shops and restaurants. Exceptionally comfortable beds. Free wine upon check-in! What more could you want?!
Easily one of the best hotels Ive ever stayed at. Clean rooms with comfortable beds, complimentary breakfast delivered to your room, amazing locally supplied organic soaps and lotion, and even a complimentary shuttle to take you down town and pick you up after youve had enough!
Napa River Inn has provided us the best hotel experience weve had to date. The staff are knowledgeable, friendly, and courteous; the scenery is divine; a complimentary, made-to-order breakfast is delivered to your room every morning, and the location is fantastic. Would not hesitate to stay there again!
Bought a package through the Wine Train. Did not receive many of the items listed in the package, including the room I booked. After complaining I did finally get a similar room. Hotel is very dated and the walls and ceilings are very thin so you hear everything in the rooms around you. Bed was not comfortable at all.Great location and friendly staff, but I would not go back and would certainly not book through a package as you end up over paying.
Booked a last minute room and massage package for 2 at the Napa River Inn. From the minute we walked in the building to the until the moment we drove out of the parking lot, we had an amazing experience. Friendly staff, wonderful room with a great view of the river and pleasant sound of the oversized bass fountain, delicious breakfast served to our door from the neighboring Sweetie Pies bakery. The on-site spa was friendly, welcoming and able to work out all the stress Ive been carrying prepping for the valentines weekend. Highly recommend staying here
So my mom and I stayed at the Napa River Inn for my birthday celebration. We had the dinners on us package and we added two massages at their spa. The massages were perfect! I would definitely get another massage at that spa. Before our dinner reservations we decided to try the wine tasting at the Napa General Store. The guy that helped us was friendly and helped us pick which type of wine we each liked. We had dinner at The Pear which was walking distance from the hotel. The food was pretty good. The hotel gave us the $100 dinner voucher and when it came to paying our bill at the end of our dinner the waitor told us that there was only $38.44 on our voucher. This was really embarrassing!! It was suppose to have $100 and our bill was about $82 total, so I had to pay the difference on my debit card. We ended up going back to the hotel and luckily they were nice and able to credit my account the difference of the voucher.Lastly, the breakfast in bed was yummy and arrived on time. The only bad thing was that the coffee we had was brought up a little cold. We would have liked it to be hot coffee.Overall I did enjoy our time at the Napa River Inn for my birthday.
I absolutely, positively loved this hotel. Every single person we met from the front desk to the ladies who came by our room in the evening with chocolate, coffee, etc. were so friendly and made you feel very welcome. You are within walking distance of several very good eating places from hamburgers to five star. The history is very interesting behind the hotel. Breakfast came fresh daily from Sweetie Pies or you could go there, next door, and order. I will definitely stay here again. One more thing - the location is excellent for Sonoma, Point Reyes National Seashore and to to all of the wineries on 29 or the Silverado Trail. Great place!!
Napa River Inn is a pleasant place to stay along the river. You pay for the location, view, friendliness of the staff, and cleanliness of the rooms. Upon waking into my Executive Double, I was a bit disappointed by the room and was expecting a larger room. I also called front desk to ask for slippers, but I suppose hotels dont carry any these days.During my stay I was offered a complimentary fruits and snacks basket, some chocolates, and lots of bottle water. We also bought a Dine In credit with our stay and had a good dinner at the Celadon. -1 star for a lackluster fitness room.
Each year we go o Napan River Inn for our annual company retreat. We have tried many other places before, but ever since we discovered Napa River Inn we love to go back there. The location could not be better! It is not only a charming, well-maintained facility, but it is also within walking distance to everything. The event room could not be better. Karen from Napa River Inn is always so helpful and makes the process so easy for me. Thank you!I am looking forward to our next visit there.
The Napa inn was a great hotel. We only stayed for the night but enjoyed our time there. It was conviently located in downtown Napa so we were easily able to walk to the restaurants and bars. The service was excellent from being greeted and helped to our room at check in to check out. If Im ever back in Napa I will definitely be back!
Where do I begin. My friend was burned out of her home. The shelter found a place for her, it was the Naoa River Inn. They were so pleasant and professional to assist her, the escorted her to the room and because she is handicap the brought her meals to her, they looked after her in many was possible, i am very appreciative for there help and concern, thank you Napa River Inn. You made her tragedy a little easier.
Meet with some friends staying here... they picked this Inn solely based on its proximity to all the restaurants and wine rooms in walking distance. The riverfront location is definitely a huge plus but the Inn itself is worth the rate charge. Very friendly and helpful staff along with a comfortable, vintage feel within the interior warm 5 stars.
Loved the place! Walking distance in downtown was amazing. Friendly people and Cynthia, the conceirge was so helpful for where to recommend to eat since my friend have celiac disease. Tarla was fabulous to eat at and also La Calenda. Across the street is a Welcome center (go there!) and they give you a great deal for where to go wineries and also tasting rooms. Very helpful! 🍷❤️
This place is a toilet. We stayed there a few weeks ago. Real crappy band playing outside. The marketing department for this place should be fired!!Selling your place as some high end luxury historic hotel in downtown Napa is way off. To us it was a wanna be, with plasticine staff, modeled after some concept that should have never gotten off the ground. Why dont you sell the place for what it really is? A joke!Oh yeah. And, the dive bar you have downstairs stank too!
Location is beautiful. Right down by the Napa River front. Close walk to lots of restaurants and other establishments in downtown Napa. I was there for an event that took place right outside the Napa River Inn so didnt get an opportunity to see the rooms, but staff seemed friendly and helpful.
Boutique. Chic. MagnifiqueMy 2 night stay at the Napa River Inn for the 18th Live in the Vineyard was a wonderful experience, all around. Located at the historic Napa Mill overlooking the Napa River, the Napa River Inn is conveniently located in Downtown Napa, within walking distance to retail stores, eateries & the Oxbow Public Market.Check-in was a breeze. We were offered wine samplings, and the lobby had a Keurig coffee maker & iced water. Upon completion of check-in, we were given a parking placard to place on our rental car dashboard. Parking is via the private parking lot, or the parking structure across the street, which I believe is limited to a particular level. Our room was located in the Plaza Building.Arriving in our room, we noticed how quaint it was. A Keurig coffee maker, with complimentary Starbucks coffee & organic tea, a mini-fridge with 2 complimentary bottles of water were some of the amenities. Organic toiletries from NV Organics were luxurious and pleasant smelling. Wise on their part, Napa River Inns body wash, shampoo & conditioner were locked in the shower, discouraging visitors from taking them home. Amelias, the lobby gift shop, has all the NV Organics for purchase. The bath soap, facial soap, shoe mitt, vanity pack, sewing kit & shower cap were free to take as souvenirs. Daily night cap with mint chocolate was a welcome sight coming back to our room. Complimentary breakfast in bed from Sweetie Pies Bakery next door is normally included for guests, but because we were staying courtesy of Live in the Vineyard, the offer wasnt included. Our balcony overlooked the entrance to Celadon restaurant.A Lexus house car for complimentary driver hosted jaunts within city limits was on hand for guests. We used it to buy Powerball tickets from 7-Eleven, as the big jackpot proved quite the temptation. One of the security guards acted as driver, and he was friendly to talk to. I also inquired about printing options, as I wanted to print our Southwest boarding passes 24 hours prior to my departure. The staff let me know they could take care of it for me, as long as I left them the pertinent info, and theyd leave our printed boarding passes in my room. Thats service for you!On premises, there are several eateries & shops to take in-Amelias - The lobby gift shop, catering to clothing, luggage & toiletriesSweetie Pies Bakery - Known for their scones, Sweetie Pies has breakfast and lunch specials for all dietary considerations.Vintage Sweet Shop - Made daily fudge, chocolate & sweets. Fudge & wine tastings are offered. Ask for a fudge sample like I did.Silos - For nightlife lovers, with live music, wine, microbrews & small bites.Napa General Store - Unique keepsakes & treasures, to go along with breakfast & lunch.Angele - Country French fare.Celadon - Global comfort food, influenced by Asian, American & Mediterranean cuisine.Facial & body treatments can be arranged at The Spa, utilizing the same NV Organics as those in the room. A tiny exercise room in the Plaza Building consisted of 3 cardio machines in a tiny room. I say, get your cardio by walking Downtown Napa like we did.Truth be told, we spent a delightful weekend at the Napa River Inn. While slightly discouraged we didnt receive a room with a river view, the Napa River wasnt much to look at and our room was right by the entrance of the Plaza Building, making getting in & out a breeze. The service was top notch, and the staff even packaged/shipped our Live in the Vineyard schwag bags with our UPS labels for us. The absolute highlight is Napa Rive Inns location. Located within close proximity to the Uptown Theatre, Zuzu, the Oxbow Public Market & other attractions, my rental car stayed in the same spot till we left for home, not needing to drive anywhere, saving gas & really taking in Napa by walking & being street level with others.Highly recommend!

2022-05-24I have visited in January, 2022 when I visited Napa, CA, and loved it! The beds were soft, the room was cozy, and it was beautiful at night! Not sure if it is still there anymore, but there were beautiful “Electronic Dandelions” or something like that. It was a rather nice hotel and I honestly wish I could move to Napa! Thanks guys! ❤️

2022-01-10Very convenient location. Excellent hosts at the front desk and great help with our bags. Also appreciate the ability to charge the Tesla on site. Shirt walking distance to many good restaurants in Downtown Napa. Great views along the riverwalk. That said, a few things did not work in the room, and its nearing time for a refresh. Nothing major, and I would certainly stay here again.

2022-06-28Positive: Perfect location for downtown Napa. We had a view of the river which was nice. We were in the E building. You could tell it was older but well maintained. I liked that housekeeping was on a request basis. Would stay again Negative: Bed was a full size, hurt our backs. Terrible pillows. ¿Breakfast¿ was just pastries which may still be a COVID thing since they were assorted in a box. No curtains just blinds which allowed a streetlight to peer directly into eyes at night.

2022-04-06The Napa River Inn provided us with the most wonderful stay! We stayed at the hotel during our honeymoon in Napa. The staff was so friendly and accommodating. The breakfast pastries delivered every morning were so delicious and a nice touch. I highly suggest booking the Napa River Inn for your next trip to Napa!

2022-05-19I have stayed here twice, once with my husband in January and again with my step Daugher in May.On my 2nd trip they had a card in my room as well as a bottle of red wine to thank me for using them again. The trip in January we were there January 2nd and most of Napa was closed and doing renovations so I highly suggest not going to Napa that first week or 2 of the new year.May the weather was still a bit chilly but everything was open so we got to enjoy the location and all the hotel has to offer. The rooms both times were clean and nice and the location is fabulous. They have breakfast that they get from a little shop that is part of the same building as the hotel and will deliver pastries to your room, or give you $10 per person towards breakfast there at Sweetie Pies. They have great coffee in the room, gorgeous views from both of our stays, friendly and fast help with luggage taken to room and one day I went in and asked the man and lady behind the counter if there was anything going on locally and they gave us FREE tickets to the Blue Note for a concert that was absolutely amazing.Between the views, the friendliness of staff, and location I cant think of a better place to stay in Napa.

2022-02-28Amazing hotel in great location. Easy to walk around downtown napa, yet quiet at night as well. The patio was a nice touch for sipping morning coffee. The front desk receptionist was very nice and accommodating.

2022-04-28Location is fun, on the river, but the beds are not great and the pillows are terrible. Far too expensive for a crummy nights sleep. Ill not stay here again.

2021-11-14Perfect location! After spending your days in the vineyards, it’s a wonderful location to walk to many fabulous restaurants in the evening. Room was perfect. Loved the balcony and view of the Napa River and the sounds of the Napa Wine Trains. Robes and towels were luxurious. Loved the option to have Sweetie Pie’s breakfast treats delivered to your room or enjoy it in the shop next door.

2022-01-01Great location on the riverfront and surprisingly comfortable rooms. Breakfast credit at Sweetie Pie is a huge perk. Parking is easy and EV chargers were usually available. We went in the winter so it might be more crowded in the summer.
