My daughter and I were in a horrific car accident in Kern canyon on November 22nd of this year and we were taken to the motel 6 in Bakersfield and it was clean the staff is exceptionally helpful it really was a phenomenal place to stay in our position since we had nowhere to go we knew nobody as stranded travelers they really took care of us I would go back to motel 6 in Bakersfield any day. The front desk manager was a beautiful woman who really went out of her way to make sure we were taken care of.
The price was right but that should have forewarned me. Non smoking room smelled like an ashtray. Sheets had obvious cigarette or some other smoking device burns in them. Towels were ridiculously small and unclean. No hairdryer, shampoo only an unbelievably small piece of soap. Flies all over the place. No small refrigerator, nothing zero. NO ICE MACHINE BUT THEY DO HAVE SMALL ICE BUCKET IN THE ROOM, whatever the buckets are for remains a mystery. The staff is helpful and thats the only good thing about this motel. Oh and cats and kittens which live here or somewhere nearby they showup at nightfall. If you can do yourself a favor and avoid this place. Maybe avoid Bakersfield CA totally.
Ive been sitting here thinking about what to write in my review the first thing that comes to mind is the staff the staff here is amazing friendly always smiling laughing this is what I look for when I go to somewhere to stay I want somewhere thats not stuck-up and makes you feel like youre out of place this is literally a home away from home and this staff is so friendly and what makes it feel this way if I can give it more than five stars I would thank you Motel 6 East
Hay everyone thought I take the time an give a shout out to Vanessa one of the hotels house keepers she is awesome harder work always has a smile on her face an she stand by the her jobs name I luv this motel 6 already but the staff are awesome great workers the manager ben is great the front desk lady Maggie I luv u guys
I would like to start of by saying the manager Ben is an amazing person great staff great rooms great service the rooms are outstanding there Clean, towels smell good, u couldn’t ask for a more welcoming at home stay then at this hotel quiet peaceful and did I mention how awesome the housekeeper an the owner Ben are free happy nice people thank u guys for the great stay
Never again.. our neighbors car was stolen. No parking lot security. Homeless camp in the back behind the dumpster. A cockroach in the room. People is hoopties with blaring music in and out of the parking lot all night. Car alarms going off. Train whistles every half hour and freeway noise. No refrigerator or microwave, ice machine was broke. Just a bad experience all the way around.
This location is very poorly maintained. The staff may be friendly, but the location, room, and experience is terrible. I paid nearly $80 for a deluxe room, but I feel like I did not get my money’s worth. The fridge was slow to work, the toilet gets stuck sometimes, and the room doors are missing the gasket, which means bugs can enter and I found out there were two cockroaches in the room. The AC unfortunately barely cools the room, luckily I brought a fan to help the air circulate better. It was a hot day and the ice machine is broken, so I had to buy ice at a 7/11 for my drinks. Wont be coming back here anytime soon, that’s for sure!
Standard motel 6, no frills and no problems.well, no problems apart from the screaming couple next door, but that was hardly the motels fault. Not the biggest of motel 6s (they have another one over the road as well) but clean and tidy all the same. By the way, Bakersfield unexpectedly is the nicest smelling place I think I have ever been to!
It was at least a bed to sleep in and the front desk person was really nice but thats about the only good thing I can say. Really needs updating. The mattress was old and the pillows lumpy. The shower was usable, sort of. The knob that controls the shower was broken and the handheld shower head was broken. Pretty sure the neighbor was conducting drug deals when I left this morning and a lot of sketchy people hanging around the parking lot and walkways of the hotel.
Stayed here on a trip from Arizona and the front office clerks were amazing! They were quick to help me get checked in. The rooms were very clean and the housekeeping staff was very helpful and gave me extra towels per my request. Definitely a good price for the service and location, fast food is nearby and quick to get to.
If I could give this place a negative 5 stars, I would. We were here for all of 20 minutes. I ripped apart the beds and checked for bed bugs, there was trash on the floor when we arrived. The toilet hadn’t been cleaned since opening. The whisper of an air conditioner smelled like crusty feet and chlorine and was NOT cold. There was some kind of bodily substance leaking down the walls, on every wall. Black fingerprints on everything. The people who hung around the area were homeless 100%. I called next door to ask if they were of the same value and she laughed and I hung up. Booked a room in downtown Bakersfield at the Marriott for $150. Way better. We left after 20 minutes of being there and I disputed it with my bank today since I did not stay there and they do not have a refund policy. This place should NOT be in business and anyone who gives this place more than 1 star is being generous.
DO NOT COME HERE! THERE ARE ROACHES, AND IT IS NOT BEING SANITIZED/ CLEANED PROPERLY.I booked 1 night, and my family & I had to check out at 2:20am. Hair on the lamp, bottom of bed not swept, roaches crawling on counter/ dresser, and the terrible stench of cigarettes. Air fresheners did nothing for the scent. I purposely booked a room that doesnt allow smoking, but obviously the motel doesnt enforce it.The parking lot is sketchy as previously mentioned. There was poop (human/ dog) found on the walkway. Please stay away from here.
Served it’s purpose for the night and I didn’t have any issues during my stay. Not going to lie I’ve stayed in much better places for a lot cheaper. The neighborhood is questionable at best and I definitely wouldn’t leave anything of value in your car or room unattended and I can fairly say this because the door to my room shows extreme signs of being broken into multiple times as you can see from the pics I took. I honestly can’t say I would recommend staying here but if you do keep your wits about you.
Didn’t even stay after, paying for room. Sketchy Ppl checking out my personal belongings on trailer, within ten mins of grabbing my over night bags. Office lady said we had to park our trailer in the back of motel that has no lighting or security cameras. Very dirty an dis-pleased. Having to fight to get money back. SMH
It was sleepless due to the guests that seem to be more like residents never resting, in and out and knocks o n the door all night and day, slamming doors, people knocking all day and night. Not one of the vending machines worked and nor did the ice machine. People stand around chatting and everything echos! But the worst was the roach infestation, them roaches been there along time, surely theres that could be done, my cat tip toed around them. Other then all that things were peachy.
Im super-cheap and I love to travel. Motel 6 and I typically co-exist in total harmony, except when I get a gross little goose like the Bakersfield location. Unidentified sticky substance all over the left-half of the room? As though someone tried to clean a floor with a Double Big Gulp? Yes, please! Life advice: drive the extra hour to the Motel 6 in Visalia.
If I could give this place no stars I would. There are no light bulbs in the room. You cant get towels. I have 7 in my family they expected me to dry all 7 members with one I said 1 towel for 2 days. The office only had 4 more towels. Looks like we are going to get towels. On that note there is absolutely no way I would recommend this place. No light bulbs no towels and just not a good place.
Where do I begin? This was, by far, the worst hotel experience Ive ever had...and Ive had a great many all over the country. First of all, Bakersfield sucks. A super high crime city that I will never visit again. The East Bakersfield Motel 6 (on Brundage) had mold in the bathroom, a non smoking room that smelled like cigarettes with cigarette burns on the sheets and blankets, broken light fixtures and water fixtures in the room, a lobby that was 95° because the ice machine, which had already been broken for a month, was heating up the entire room. Bulletproof glass when dealing with the cashier and was even made to wait for them to go through a shift change when I first got there. Some dude doing active body work on his Honda Civic directly outside the entrance. Towels in the room that would serve dual purpose as sandpaper and were too small for anyone other than a dwarf or child. I could go on but I have requested a full refund and wouldnt wish this hotel on anyone. BEWARE!!!UPDATE: Response to Nancy Ys response to my review. Nancy, can you offer more than literally THE MOST canned response possible? Why on earth would I visit again after such a gross experience? I mean cmon! Clean the place up, get rid of the mold, FIX THE ICE MACHINE!!!, lower the entry temp to...oh, I dont know...mayyybe 75F?!?!...fix the fixtures, buy new sheets (and blankets and towels...and make sure the towels can actually towel off a grown man without exfoliating his epidermis, not just someone Herve Villechaize sized...Tattoo from the show, Fantasy Island...De plane! De plane!) and get rid of the people doing active bodywork on their cars in the parking lot! Long list, better get crackin! Speaking of crack, I imagine its a solid place to buy some. Harsh, I know, but a hotel should never be in that sort of condition unless, perhaps, charging 10 bucks per.
Its pretty chill there, price was cheap... Like 67-69$ after tax for one person. The bathroom seemed clean enough and the bed was fairly comfortable at least in comparison to other cheap af hotels.. I didnt see any roaches until after 3 nights in the same room and I had left snacks opened on the table so it was to be expected I guess. Overall it was decent for what u can expect from a $50/night motel.
The place is burnt probably from a meth lab explosion LOL. Room full of bugs, fridge barely works, toilet doesnt flush half the time, stains all over the walls, graffiti inside the room, damaged furniture, sketchy crackheads loitering outside, foul smells everywhere, door doesnt seal all the way. At least the staff is decently friendly.
Just wanted to say that i been coming to Motel 6 for quite some time and even though that its not quite the same from when i first started but one main reason why i still continue to stay is all the old employees especially Patty the lady in the front desk. She always made me feel welcome and she goes out of her way to accommodate my needs and if she could not she lets me know in a polite manner. Plus i also see her put her foot down when people our crossing the line with other guests. She rocks.
Never checked in! Ive been driving cross country from the East coast, and on the road for month, and a half. Showed up to this property a day earlier, and in broad daylight saw drug dealing in the parking lot, and a homeless gentleman, with his shopping cart, hanging out in front of the entrance. Beware people!! Very shady property. Not only did I cancel, but expect not to be charged any fees!!
Seal around door was broken and room was infested with flies. Sheets were dirty upon arrival. Asked for clean sheets and stripped beds ourselves. Mattresses and mattress covers were stained and covered in hair. Furnishings were dented, beat up. Only one towel in bathroom. Hole in bathroom door. Booked a room with two queens and was given a room with two fulls. Left and stayed elsewhere.
I been to alot of Motels in my days but this one in particular has this caucasion lady i forgot her name she was very professional, polite, and so accommadating which i appreciate the most. What caught my eye with her is how she was handling alot of rude customers plus answering the phone and just dealing with rush hr i believe it just turn check in time. She was able to handle. Every situation in a calm collective manner. I was starting to get axiety attack for her. But like i said she handle it all so well. So hopefully she can be there next time i go through there. Two thumbs up for her
Upon my arrival I was immediately greeted by Angela at the front desk. She was extremely polite, professional, and helpful. My room was clean and had everything I needed. On Day 2 I asked the housekeeper Vanessa if I could have my room cleaned. I left for a short time and came back to a spotless room. She even asked me if I needed anything else and was absolutely courteous. Thank you to the staff for always making me and my kids feel at home.
The price cant be beat, the front desk lady was very friendly and helpful. The shower/bathroom is nice and roomy, and the room was decently sized. My only complaints, the room was non-smoking, yet smelled strongly of cigarettes when we entered, the bed wasnt the most comfortable and the frame quite noisy even for the smallest movements. The pillows definitely leave something to be desired. And they only give 2 towels per room.
You better of sleeping in your car. I had ask for a non smoking room and out side it had a no smoking sign there was ashes everywhere. The house keeper who cleaned that room before I booked it didn’t clean the room. There was crumbs and ashes on the bed, ashes on the top of the ac, all over the sink, on the toilet, and tub. Well what do you expect there is so many Tweakers there. The worst part it Reeks of cigarette that all my stuff smelled like cigarettes. It was very Disgusting and unpleasant.
2-27-21 my husband and I stayed. Overall, was satisfied. Sure, a couple cosmetic things could be done.Service at check-in/out: really good. Price was good even before Veteran discount. Before arriving, was told on the phone that there is a lot of homeless people in the area.Room (303): Descently clean.Linens/towels: clean. They are old and need replaced, sure. No foul odors and was a smoking room. Heater/AC unit, should be cleaned but it worked good. You do hear the vehicle traffic from the highway exit ramp at times.Could not connect to Wi-Fi.Felt completely comfortable and safe, yes. Only seen a couple homeless people. As a overall would we stay here again if in Bakersfield: Yes we would.
Only just because I give a star, but I will give it 0 stars. Omg this is the worst motel ever. I was just passing through and decided to stay here. I wasnt even in the room 10 minutes and I immediately called and ask for a refund. The front desk clerk was very attentive and understanding. Its not her fault they have workers who dont care about the facility. There were flies all over the ceiling and flying around. Uggggh so gross! The bathroom was disgusting, sheets were dirty, and cobwebs with SPIDERS the corners of the rooms. Just absolutely filth. Please dont stay here for nothing.
This place is trash. Find another spot. Laundry machines don’t work ice machine don’t work none of the pizza places in town I’ll deliver to you. Claim all their drivers have had problems out here. Washed my cloth only to have the dryer take my money. This place is so bad they will not even open their main door during the day. They make you use the night window. Oh ya you will pay full price tho.
This experience was absolutely terrifying and horrible. The room was smaller than my bathroom. Its right by the freeway so it sounds like the cars are coming through the room. The one towel was stained up with black spots. The bath tub didnt work. The bed was itchy and it looked like crack heads outside. Omg I wanna go home!!! Horrible!!!
The worst experience I ever had with a motel..they gave me a smoking room when I dont smoke..my kids and I were very disgusted the floor was dirty and sticky....blankets had cigarette burned and holes on them...the toilet was dirty and I checked out early because of it..and the phone wasnt even working. Very disappointing..
The staff were very friendly, but the room was very dirty. When we arrived in our non-smoking room it smelled strongly of smoke. We brought this to the front desks attention and were immediately offered another room. The other room smelled worse so we stayed with the first room. The bed covers were visibly stained, so that was a little off-putting on entry. The floors were dirty and had not been swept in a long time. There was actual trash (papers, drink containers, bottles, etc.) under the bed. The room had a dozen or more flies. We asked the front desk if they could do anything about that. They said no, its out of our control. Couldnt you at least swat them?, I asked. They said they could do that. They must have because the next day there was probably only a half dozen flies, so that was nice. We forgot something in the room and the staff set it aside for us and we were able to come back for it.
I would give this place five stars but I had a bad experience with the office clerk last night. my family and I have stayed here numerous nights before and never had a complaint from anyone about us being on the top floor. Well we came in late last night and the office clerk not only said it was mandatory for us to be on the bottom floor with our kids she said we have to get a room with a refrigerator which cost more. So we did no problem, but when we got into our room we heard little kids running above us. Ive never had this problem before but everytime we come and shes there she gives us a hard time.
The room we got seemed to be clean as we entered it. But soon, we found that there were some black color insects in the room and in the bathroom. Since it was 12 oclock in the night, we decided to sleep. In morning, we found that there were no toiletries at all. As we were short of time, we decided to leave the hotel asap. We couldnt even take shower in it. We checked out of the motel at around 5:30 am. So, we were in that room for barely 6 hours. But it was a very bad experience.By the way, the location of the motel was convenient.
Rooms were the size of a closet. No air cond. Door separating room next to me didnt lock., The noise coming from that room was like being at the bus station. Someone kicking my front door at 3am over and over again yelling Come On and to top it all off Roaches Galore. Also charged me more than quoted during booking. I will never stay at another motel 6 as long as I live, nor will I ever use this booking site again. What a Rip Off...
Despite the areas reputation, my stay here wasnt bad. The staff were friendly, and the other guests kept to themselves. The pool has been drained, and by the look of it, the pool will remain unavailable.Near-by is a Starbucks, a Jack-in-the-Box, a McDonalds, an ARCO, a Chevron, and a SUBWAY, along with a truck stop with its own restaurant.
Just checked in. I would never stay there again. Drug addicts, Rehabilitation crowd, women floating around loosely. My vehicle was broken into and more likely these drug addicts stole all my belongings, work equipment, personal items & loose money I had in the truck & my spare tire. The manager Ben was useless in trying to help out. Some of the receptionist didnt even care. I had to call Kern county sheriff dept and file a robbery report. I had to quickly get out of there. Youre risking your life staying at this Motel 6 in Bakersfield on Brundage Road by Weedpatch Road (184 highway). Word of advice; DONT STAY THERE, NO SECURITY, YOURE ON YOUR OWN WITH NO SUPPORT FROM THE HOTEL!.
I booked a room for the 1st of August, 2020. ETA was between 2am-3am. I arrived here at 2:30am checked in at the front desk, only to be told i hadno rese therewas no reservation. I showed the lady our confirmation and screenshot of the reservation. She then tells me theres no rooms available. Weve had to spend the night on the side of a abandoned restaurant. At 11am we finally^as we were told to do so. Our room was still not available, so at this very moment weve yet to see our room. Its now 2pm, & have been out in the hot sun all day. To add insult to injury the manager finds humor in our situation. This is the worst hotel/motel experience ever.
I just checked In and honestly am probably not staying here the first room was disgusting there was blood on the bed cover the table had an unknown substance on it the floor was sticky and smelled like a Cyprus hill concert the second room 2 /4 lights worked the air conditioner didn’t work Will not recommend
We called ahead of time to make sure a disabled room would be available. The pictures are of the room when we checked in. It clearly hadn’t been cleaned yet. We arrived late in the evening after driving from from Las Vegas, so I wasn’t exactly pleased with having to make my own bed before being able to get some rest. The gal at the front desk handled the situation very professionally and seemed surprised to discover the room hadn’t been cleaned yet. Apparently the housekeepers didn’t make a note of the room like they were supposed to.
I STAYED FOR 2 NIGHTS WITH MY HUSBAND NIECE AND MY 2 YEAR OLD SON. MY SON GOT BITTEN BY BED BUGS ROOM SMELL AWFUL AC DID NOT WORK ROOM WAS SO FILTHY A LOT OF DRUG ADDICTS WE HAD TO GO WALMART FOR CLOROX AND AIR FRESHENER AND FOR A LITTLE FAN TO KEEP US A LITTLE COOL... NEVER EVER COMING TO THIS HOTEL AGAIN. IF I COULD GIVE 0 STARS I WOULD. THIS WAS ROOM 415
The bed was comfy and sheets clean but the surrounding location and air pollution did not help to get a good rest. The stafd took my document to give me hairdryer to he room. Did not feel well with that. Other Motel 6 locations stopped this procedure long ago. Its about data protection. There is no need to so it while you even have my card details in your computer in case of stealling or damage etc. Overall rate good but not very good comparing to other motels.
Motel was clean and it was nice that there was two chairs and a table inside. Room smelled like it may have been a smoking room in the past. Exterior walls did not insulate sound too well, but fortunately it was fairly quiet in the night hours. The free wifi was adequate. Conveniently located close to McDonalds and Starbucks and there is a nice Indian restaurant behind the Arco nearby. Several homeless people hang out the area and it seemed like they made several trips through the parking area scrounging for things, but they did not seem dangerous,
Our room was never cleaned the entire 4 days we were there. No fridge or microwave. Instead of cleaning the room they set the air conditioner to 60. Bed was very uncomfortable. Was very unimpressed with this motel 6. Have stayed in other and they were nothing like this one. Would not recommend to anyone.
I would have given 2 started but they got an extra star for a good price ($53) a night. Parking was a problem because they were completely full and we had a trailer but the very very nice people at Burger King next door let us park there since we were leaving early in the morning. The mattress was saggy and the trains are very loud but only went by 3-4 times during the night. Resident cats were very cute. Industrial area but felt safe. Hotel was kind of run down, but great price.
WORST MOTEL EXPERIENCE EVER!!! The room was FILTHY, (dried feces on the toilet, hair in the sink, something yellow dried to the side of the bathtub, floor was filthy, hadnt been swept and a fake nail on the bathroom floor) Refused to stay there-went to familys house in Bakersfield. Went to check out the afternoon before we left to find wet towels on the bed and beer had been drank so obviously someone went in and helped themselves. I called to report it and got told I would get 1 day of reimbursement for the 4 that I had paid for. I WILL NEVER AGAIN STAY AT A MOTEL 6-THIS RUINED ME FOR LIFE WITH THIS MOTEL CHAIN!!! BEYOND REPULSED BY THIS EXPERIENCE!!
The maid that cleaned out room here stole my four rings that I had left sitting on the shelf. Of course she denied it , yet stated she was the only person in the room. Throughout the rest of our stay there she then tried her best to avoid me. I hope karma meets up with her thriving self. I hope she can live with herself for stealing the rings that were left to me from some very special people who are no longer with us except in spirit. R. I. P. Grandma and Mother. Sorry that I wasnt able to get your rings back. Feel free to haunt that shellfish woman.
Horrible horrible horrible! Save your money. Almost made the mistake of staying here thinking the reviews couldnt be that bad since they were renovating, but I was wrong. Paint smell was strong! Barely any furniture! Tile grout in bathroom was disgusting and dirty! (I guess they hadnt renovated that!) We complained, got given a key to a room that wasnt yet renovated, and boy was that worse!!! The room hadnt even been clean from a prior stay. Ugh, we grabbed our money and left!!! To make matters worse the blonde at the desk was incredibly rude and defended their hotel by being best in region if theyre the best, Im going to steer clear of ALL motel 6s as should you...
The room was non smoking but stunk like weed so I asked for a different room and that room had roaches all over it! U definitely get what u pay for I felt so disgusted so I got a refund and went down the road a bit and went to quality inn where I’m welcomed, the clean rooms.
Management and overall the homeless that stay there I live in bakerfield and use to come here years ago it was nicer and kept up better now its just full of sketchy people that are just watching you to see what you have and that they can steal I recently got my truck stolen and it was found there the truck was parked side ways taking multiple parakings and the hood was open and driver side door too the highway patrol told me thats how they found it they were in the middle of talking the battery and stereo but he had a look out by the main street and what i really find interesting is that my truck was parked in front of the main office so they feel confortable enough to do that by the office so the management there doest care whos things are being stolen or broken into they wont do a thing about it
Booked two non-smoking rooms, one of the rooms they gave us was definitely smoking and toilet in that room was stopped up when we arrived. They switched us to another room. Burn holes in bedspread. Some occupants are obviously residents. I didnt feel unsafe, I was just aware it was not the best part of town. Electricity went off during the night for about 20 minutes making room temp uncomfortably warm.
Cheesiest place ever! Rooms were not exactly clean, like the maids did the bare minimum. When we arrived, they had boxes of someones personal belongings stacked up at the top of the stairs making it very difficult to get our luggage up to our rooms. Staff was rude. Just a terrible experience all the way around. And oh gosh, dont even think about asking for extra towels, maids act like your robbing them or something.
No fridge or Microwave in the room i stayed in extremely disrespectful Basic things like that should be included for 54-60$ a night ! 60$ on weekends 😂 Me and my Gf went to the studio 6 in buttonwilliow its cheaper 52$ a night and has a stove microwave full size fridge toaster ! Big sink ! Ill never pay those prices again and go back there ! And by the way the Receptionists in the front dont read the notes: in the Reservations for their rooms we asked for a fridge!
Not too bad for one night. Fairly clean and comfortable. Bare bones as one would expect from Motel 6, but the shower had excellent water pressure. It was pretty noisy outside until about 1030pm with kids playing in the courtyard and it sounded like there was a wrestling match going on upstairs. This is definitely the lower end of town and there were some questionable characters hanging around outside. But otherwise everything was fine. I would stay here again.
The young lady at the front desk was wonderful. I was very tired after driving all day. We checked in, went to our room. No frig, no microwave. Modern room? The bathroom light did not work. Every time the adjoining room flushed their toilet, it sounded like Niagra Falls was coming. We did not enjoy looking at the ceiling either with bugs crawling all over.
Besides having to visit the desk to get a passcard that would work for days 2 through 4 everything was fine. Not much you can do about stiletto heels walking around upstairs or a bit of noise from people in the courtyard. A mini fridge would be nice for multiple days stay. Change the bedspread and mop the floor and I would up my cleanliness rating to 9. Very friendly staff.
The front desk people were very helpful and polite .The rooms were very clean and organized. The only problem I had was the homeless people walking around the premises helping the self to the ice machine sorry but they werent very clean and the fact that there was people putting their dogs in the pool gross wanted to swim but not after that. SO NO ICE AND NO SWIMMING.THE DAYS WERE VERY HOT.
The motel is what you would expect for the price point. The neighborhood is...meh, the mattress thin, comforts lacking. But for the price, its reasonable. I had no issues with cleanliness, and while there were a few homeless people in the area, my rental Merc was not touched. There are several food options about, and its right off the highway.
Good after noon just want to say thank you to motel 6 room was really nice an clean . thanks to staff an manager for all ur help. An room service was on point i didnt have to wait for nothing . my kids had a blast in pool too. Water was very clean. I will most definitely recommend people to stay at motel 6 on east braundage Ln . . there is food places close by .good tip Starbucks round the corner my favorite thank you motel 6. An to all employees Have a wonderful day .
The rooms were not clean (for e.g. pubic hair still in the shower) and there were some kind of bugs in the bathroom and bedroom. Furthermore, there were holes from cigarettes in the linens and the towels were old (grey and rough from being washed thousands of times). I dont expect much from a motel room so close to the highway (its going to be loud), but what I expect is cleanliness and more or less comfy beds (The bed was a bit too small). I would prefer, if Motel 6 paid more attention to cleanliness and invested a little bit more in buying new towels and linens more often instead of providing new flatscreen TVs, which I dont really need, if I only want to sleep for a couple of hours before hitting the road again. There was no hairdryer either.
The room was clean enough but a big earwigs showed up in the bathroom. The shower head was totally worn out and wouldnt hold its position. Water was flooding out of the area where the head meets the pipe out of the wall. It had one position down. Disappointing. I usually stay at Motel 6 and this wouldnt stop me from using them. Maintenance just needs to try harder. Maintenance items drug the whole place down. The shower curtain metal bar was loose and just caulked in position and probably just screwed in to the sheet rock not a stud. The room was small and poorly laid out. I am sure they bought it like that and it is what it is.
I didnt turn on the lights after checking in, I was feeling ill and just got into bed, The next morning I discovered that the bedspread was filthy dirty and disgusting. I took photos of the bed and exterior condition so I could post of FB to show how disgusting this motel was. The walkways are disgustingly gross and filthy looks like they have not been cleaned in months. I complained to the manager which was very polite and professional.
Very clean room and bathroom, friendly staff, inexpensive. Thin towels, soap, but no shampoo, soft bed, hard pillows, busy, noisy street. Allows pets - one was yapping a lot in the early evening, but was quiet at might. Seemed to me that some people live there for longer than just a few nights.
When checking in, I was pleasantly surprised at how clean the rooms were. Also, the lady at the front counter was really nice. This is the only place that I found that didnt charge extra fit my dog. There were as lot of people staying with dogs but I didnt see a single mess in any of the grass. The set up is also really convenient for pet owners since every room on the lower level has a bit of grass right outside the door. The pool was also clean and enjoyable. My one issue here was how sketchy some of the people are that were staying. One guy was always watching everyonefrom the top of the stairs in kind of a paranoid way....he looked like a dealer or pimp. There seemed to be pitbulls in every other room too. There was security making rounds at night so I never felt paticularly unsafe, but I did feel a need to keep my head down and not notice wgat some of the people were seemingly up to. All in all, for the price, it was a great stay
The staff were friendly and reserving online was quick and painless. The only thing about Motel 6 I would change is the Wifi situation there. Some motels charge way too much and the ones that offer free Wifi are so very slow. Hope this will change soon. The room here was clean and stocked and had flat screen TVs.
This was my second stay at this particular Motel 6. I like the price and especially the location of this motel, mainly because all of my friends and family live in Northeast Bakersfield and its a short drive to that part of town. The staff is friendly, helpful and always courteous. I plan on staying there again on my next trip to Bakersfield in March.
I reserved a room, when I arrived I was not giving a room the size or in the area I requested. The very professional polite front desk women with No Name tag told me there was No rooms in that area. So I was givin a very small room with a full size bed in a different area. The room was clean. It was a non smoking room and Thanks to the hoskeepers it did NOT smell like cigarettes. Hats off to Those Houskeepers. On the other hand I didn’t appreciate it that at 10:30 am a housekeeper opened my door as she’s saying “HOUSEKEEPING” Checkout isn’t until 11:00am.I LOVE THE FACT THAT THEY HAVE CLEANED UP THE DRUG USE, HOMELESS People that use to be aroundI stay in Motel 6 in different areas and different city’s and states very often and I would not change that for one or two BAD EXPERIENCESI LOVE MOTEL 6 THANKS FOR LEAVING THE LIGHTS ON WHEN EVER I NEED FOR WORKABD PLAY.......
Not a great property by any means. The atmosphere, the clientele, the rooms, and the lack of proper maintenance were all very subpar and needs desperate attention. The one and only saving grace for this business was the two female front desk clerks who were so very courteous and delightful. But, I cant speak for rest of shifts.
The staff was very Nice and respectful but for reasons that Im guessing are out of the staffs control I would not recommend anyone with children to stay at this location.. for example there was a man walking around turning the doorknobs of all the rooms in the middle of the night...I informed the front desk but I still didnt feel safe. And then the next day in broad day light I seen who seemed to be homeless people jumping the fence into the back of the motel by the pool where my children and I were at the time . Im not trying to be judgemental but again I felt unsafe especially for my kids so I returned to our room....so this was how our stay was ...but thank you.
Their employees have very bad customer service. They only want you to do a review so you can get the room rate at a lower price. They DNR me and my sister after we told them we didnt want to deal with their employee Maggie anymore because she always giving us bad attitude and customer service. We paid and they put on on the DNR right after. They tried to say it was because my sister had a disagreement outside with her fiancee but the manager Denise slipped up and told on herself and her coworker Maggie. She told us she put us on the DNR after the incident we had with Maggie, and that was the only incident we had. I have spoken to the manager he said he would call back about the situation and he never did. They said to come In Friday to resolve the issue, but a manager should always be on call within a hotel for this kind of problem to be resolved. I have already taken it to corporate.
I was disappointed for a couple of reasons. One we had to wait to get our room which I have not experienced in other prior visits. Second in the morning before leaving there was a spider (black) crawling across the floor that my wife killed. YUCK.Any way other than that it was a decent stay.Bill
The room was decent, above me was a lot people stomping around in the middle of the night. My husband and I went to get a drink out of soda machine. We had to use card for machine. It approved our transaction but did not give drinks out. So I was jotting number down on the machine and my husband tried again cause it worked earlier for him. The night shift Lady came inside saying I know what you guys are doing. You trying to get credit card info from people which we wasnt. I use my card which is reserved under the same card and I have transaction statements about this situation of the machine taking our money and not giving the drinks that where purchased. She kept standing their very aggressive and attacking us. She started to walk off and, I say we speak about it to manager tomorrow during check out. I spoke to the front desk and they had no response but oh she told us yeah I heard her earlier talking about it. I will go up the chain of corporation if something is not done about it. She made us feel very uncomfortable and angered by the situation. When I checked in and security guard was nice thats about it
This place is like a second home to me seeings how I lived here off and on for 3 months when I was homeless. I really couldnt of asked for a more friendlier group of people to be around during a hardship in my life than the staff here. The rooms are always so emaculant they give you a sanitised feel. I love this place and will always go back.
Online pics seemed legit and decided to give it a try. I was disappointed to find there was no internet access and no pool. The room had bugs- big enough for me to see without glasses. The restroom smelled very strongly of Mildew. Also stains on the blanket, sheets, and Shower curtain. Checked out early, turning my 4 day stay into barely 1, although I was still charged for 2 days. Not Okay at all.
The first room we were assigned to had not been cleaned, plus cockroaches were running around on the floor and walls. The sheets on the bed in the second room we were assigned were dirty looking and not pressed plus the blanket and bed cover were dirty. The room also had Cockroaches running around and the vent fan was very noisy.
Sorry to say, but my stay at Motel 6 East in Bakersfield was miserable beyond words. I had picked up my mother late at the Fresno Airport and made a reservation at this Motel 6 because when we arrived at 10pm we needed to get some good rest for the next day. Well..starting at 11pm the neighboring room started showering and talking loud and this lasted until 1am at least. I tired of counting all the showering and was finally sleeping when we were awakened at 5am to loud hip-hop music. I am not kidding. It did not go away and eventually we had to get up at 5:30am and start a long day with very little sleep. I alerted the motel staff of the situation, but nothing was done. Motel 6 has always been my choice of motel and we actually stay there quite often. Most recently in Tulare due to medical visits and we traveled twice across the country staying only in Motel 6. I am sorry to say that my love of Motel 6 had now ended. Truly, a sad moment for both of us.
My husband and i stay here when we need a small short getaway. Its nice for the most part, and staff are nice, but one time i got a room with ants, and woke up with them all over me and my husband and when we told staff they didnt offer to give us another room, or compensate us in any way. If it wasnt for that i would give 5 stars, but overall its nice.
This place is infested with stray cats. All I hear all night long is is meowing & cat fights. Kept me & my dog up all night long. When I called the office to complain she said she had no idea & there was nothing she could do. I find it difficult to believe no one else has complained. These cats have definitely been around here awhile. Ugh, wish I could sleep 💤
The good news is, the Ridgecrest Motel 6 is more disgusting than yours. The bad news is, that makes you the second most disgusting Motel 6 Ive stayed at in California. Considering how sticky the floor was and the general condition of the room upon my arrival, I think you may need to have a word with your cleaning staff. That is, if said staff actually exists.
I have chosen your location for several years while on my way to Indian Wells. The reception was excellent especially due to the young lady named: Nemise She was pleasant and professional but things went downhill fast from there. Twice on the way to get some ice, I was confronted by men asking for money. Later I saw him in room 213 with his female companion staring across at me in 233. Also, there were multiple piles of dog droppings in front of the doors on the second level, and they were still there in the morning.
Only place Ill stay in Bakersfield. Its quiet, cleaner than any of the other motel 6s here in town. Has HBO, Free WiFi. Staff is awesome, not all up in your business and very respectful. Great location as far as necessities goes, theres a samco right next door as well as a couple fast food joints and a Dennys. Like I said, I wont even bother staying anywhere else.
A place that i can always call my second home away from home. Thank you to all the guest for showing our #1 Motel 6 in Bakersfield the support it always asked for. The employees and manager always give there best and i truly appreciate you all. Special thanks to my A+ worker of the year Miss.Liz keep up the good work.
Only positive is the price and location..Pillow case had make up on it. Bedding was stained. Reeked of cigarette smoke.Went to pull towel out of rack, old razor blade was in rack.Tub was soft and cracked, I was afraid I was going to fall thru.Mold on ceiling and wall. Also, could see where mold had been previously painted over. I had a constant headache from the mold.I was booked for 3 nights, after 2nd night, my key wouldnt work. I had to go to office to get it reprogrammed.
Theres no other like this one when it comes to being relaxed, my personal opinion. The whole team here is beyond great really theres know words for the gratitude of respect they give to there customers. Lets all as a community please give them a round of applause. Keep up the good work.Jerome D Maston Sr
This place is disgusting ... We check in around 9pm on Aug 26Being that its a motel 6 of course Im not really excited at all to be here (Ewwww).I personally rather sleep in the car but they got a 2Bed room I was like okay friend Ill take the second bedWe leave for a while to go explor the surrounding restaurants .....We return to room 308 ready to call it a night due to a long drive we have in the morning....as we start pulling the sheets back the first thing we dont see is the stank ol foul aroma
Everything is very good except that I had to request the receipt 3 times and the first dispatcher wasnt clear that there is another department that I have to call in order to get this send to me and she get my email wrong , and didnt call me to follow up about the email or the invoice. but the second dispatcher he was perfect , his customer service skills were impeccable.
Room was uncomfortably warm when l first entered room. A/C struggled to cool room sufficiently. Had several bugs in room, possibly entering from around door seals. Towel rack by sink was hanging from drywall. Bed covers had stains on both beds in room. This is what to expect from the cheapest room in town.
The motel itself was very clean, room was nice and big, and the staff went up and beyond. The only downfall was a couple having a large, LOUD argument for few hours, however in motels defense they called local law enforcement and they did not show up for atleast a few hours.
We saw prostitution and drug use on the motel ground. At 10.30 pm when we and our two little kids were already asleep a front desk employee forced her way into our room asking if were registered to it. After confirming this she ran off saying shed be right back. She never did and we never got an explanation. Also having to pay for wifi is not normal nowadays
On June , 6, 2017 . I was called by front desk for payment of my room. The previous evening i booked and reserved , and received confirmation....well apparently it did not go thru for payment. I rushed downtown to the nearest western union, by the fourth stop of a western union pick up station , i finally was able to receive money. We had been here approximately a week by this date, witout any online troubles. In the meantime, not even an hour gone by and the manager pounding at the door, demanding that whomever in the room vacate in 5 minutes. Manager stated my spouse not listed, etc. When my spouse is actually listed as a guest as well. I dont understand why threatening the situation and escalating tempers from staff had to be this way. Being treated like a transient who could not pay. Clearly you have past history of our stay so far. The manager and staff, at 8223 E. Brundage Lane, Bakersfield, Ca 93307 rudeness is not acceptable! I will NEVER stay at a Motel 6 again!Dissappointed,Suzzanne Garcia& Royce Ivey
I have stayed there many times because it has a security guard who walks the premises. This time when I stayed I had a cooler full stolen from my vehicle. It not only contained food and drinks but medicine that was needed. all they could say is sorry. The room was clean however.

2022-02-273 positives…the price was cheap, the bed was pretty clean, the lady who checked me in was very nice. The negatives…non-smoking room that smelled very heavily like smoker had just left the room. Counters and and floors were dirty. Towels are small, thin and don’t look super clean. Pool looks like it hasn’t had water in it in a long time. Not that I was planning to swim but it’s not mentioned when you book. Bring your own soap/shampoo as there is no shampoo and soap is small. All in all you won’t find a much cheaper place to stay but go in with your eyes open to what you’re getting.

2022-02-08Positive: I have stayed at this hotel chain at many locations, this one however always seems to be the most clean & well operated. From the time I check in till the time I check out I feel like family, all staff are really polite and eager to assist in anyway. Negative: Only complaint is there was a couple evenings where the stench of cannabis filled the hallway on my floor and it became very overwhelming. The smell of the smoke lingered into my room, giving me a headache & causing a fowl oder for a couple hours.

2022-06-19One star is to many. Disgusting. The room smelled like smoke. Dingy linen. The floors were full of debris/dirt. There were cockroaches on the nightstand. Anytime we attempted to walk out of our room there were people standing by our door. Anytime we attempted to walk up/down stairs there were people sitting drinking/smoking blocking the thoroughfare. Tons of homeless near by, some sitting at the lobby doorway.

2022-06-24The service was good, explained my power was out and Im disabled and they let me check in early. The room reeked of bleach and the bed was lumpy. The area is kind of sketchy but that really isnt their fault.

2022-04-17I would leave no star if I could. My worst hotel experience ever. Even a 3 star in Cuba is better than this. Way too expensive for what it is. Dirty sticky floor, flies everywhere, body hair on bed sheet.

2022-05-15Staff is very cool almost all of them are very willing to help I think the rooms just need to have a really good cleaning and this is at most of bakersfields hotels trust me Ive stood and most of them in bakersfield due to me and family currently being homeless so we have stood in a majority or them from the most expensive to the cheapest ones and I honestly think all hotels just need to hiring more housekeepers to help clean the rooms more thoroughly because they are Givin a time frame on how long they have to finish cleaning a room and sometime people leave them in a very disgusting state and having 20 or so min to have on cleaning one room is allot on the housekeepers plate so I dont think its really the Staff on why alot of hotels arent cleaned to everyones liking I think its because there understaffed and is just impossible to clean each room perfect giving the time frame that they currently have I do believe alot of the hotels just need better maintenance and honestly just some simple caulking or patching of some of the holes in the rooms or even cleaning of the ac units would make things so much better but Ive been usually cleaning every room I stay in by scrubbing all the walls and cleaning of the floors with bleach just cause I like to stay in a clean room and trying to help out as well so sorry if your towels been a little dirty but by far the employees are great people better then most of these hotels all across bakersfield area but thats all I have to say everyone enjoy your day and be blessed and happy lifes short try to enjoy the little thingsGOD IS GOOD
