This place by itself makes me want to come back to Santa Anna. Great beer selection, cool cocktails, ALL the pinball machines, Im now #2 on Gallaga, and tons of food and a Tiki bar downstairs.Highly recommended to check out! Low prices for games as well. Solid music playing. Just great and relaxing all around.
What do you need place to hang out with the guys! They have a wide range of drinks, I love the fact that the first floor had two food options, a ramen spot and a Korean fried chicken spot, and they were both excellent! Upstairs, youll find a wide variety of games that will bring back your childhood and I will say that the cost of the games are extremely reasonable. The equivalent of quarter to play regular games and 2 to 4 for multiplayer games. The evening we went there was also a DJ. Check this place out!
I had a blast in this place, drinks were reasonably priced and the environment is welcoming, great vibe and DJ playing great music. My only complaint would be that some machines buttons get stuck when pressing them but its a great place to play games and grab a drink with your friends.
Went here with my boyfriend on a date. Whiskey sour is one of my favorite cocktails so getting a Pacman sour was an easy choice. It was just okay. Quite pricey. There was a DJ and a small space to dance if you are so inclined. I definitely enjoyed the eighties music. A nice size balcony patio area if you need some air. We had a pretty good time and will probably go back for another date night.
The reason to go to Mission Control is the Pinball machines. Jay ( the operator ) does a crazy job keeping these machines competition ready considering how much okay they get.Every Wednesday there is pinball league and its a great way to get introduced to pinball as all the members will show you how everything is done in the pinball world.Theres a great selection of beers on tap, and friendly bartenders are just the tip of the iceberg. Alcohol pricing isnt consistent with the venue though-- cocktails are priced like youre at a fancy steakhouse.Really happy this place opened.
Great vibes, everything from the food court to the hidden Tiki Bar and just make your way up to the arcade bar (Evenings [9pm-close] on Fridays and Saturdays have DJs.) This place has it all for every occasion. Private parties/buyouts are available ahead of time. Great spot for the whole family.
I love this place!!! Always a great time here! The themed drinks are bomb! And can definitely taste the alcohol, unlike other places that pour heavy on the sweetness. The games are fun and all functioning. I even got lucky on the jurassic park pinball theme machine (; I was getting free games. Love the concept of arcade games and drinks. Brings back nostalgic memories.
A couple of MAME machines, a bevy of pinball, and some raucous music to along with the brilliant beers, Mission Control is a little bit Portland, a little bit Seattle, and a lot of 80s. Oscar, nthe bartender was super accommodating and had a wild story about a rare game machine that isnt Polybius.
Mission Control is such a cool bar experience and serves all the nostalgia!I am not one for bar hopping in Downtown Santa Ana but a friend introduced me to this place and figured it couldnt be bad if there were arcade games and alcohol. This bar is located on the second floor of a building that has a food court on the first level. *THIS IS SUPER IMPORTANT BECAUSE YOU DONT HAVE TO GO FAR TO HAVE YOUR DRUNCHIES MEAL!*The drinks themselves are very cheap. Theyre about $7-12 depending on what youre ordering so it does not take too much to get very drunk very quickly. The obvious highlight of the place is the famed arcade games. Each game will cost you maybe 25 to 50 cents (yes, you read that right) and you have a coin converter machine in order to exchange your bills into quarters. They also have a separate area where they have tournaments as well if youre that competitive. Overall, its a really nostalgic place and totally worth checking out if youre a classic gamer.I definitely appreciated the experience and definitely plan to return for another visit.
They have a good selection of games, from a lengthy selection of cabinets including classics like Pac-Man and Galaga, to a whole array of pinball machines. The drinks are well-mixed, I quite enjoy the Mana Potion. There is seating as well. A good place to come with friends to enjoy an evening.
I really like the games, music, and astetic and is definitely worth checking out for a cheap date night. Unfortunately, Public Market is a bit run down. Not as cool as it used to be. It also doesnt feel very safe late at night around since many buildings are boarded up.
I tried to take my friend who is wheelchair bound here to play some retro arcade games. Was unable to get into the barcade area upstairs as there is no elevator. When I asked the short guy working there if there was a elevator he treated me like I was stupid for asking. Would not recommend.
Drinks were pretty good, but I think they could be a bit stronger (coming from a light weight lol) games are nostalgic and in near perfect condition. If you like cabinet games then definitely check it out. Pinball was so much fun, overall pretty fun but it feels like its missing something.
This is a really cool bar with vintage (80s and 90s) arcade games. I was instantly taken back to my childhood, but this time with an alcoholic drink in hand. Not overly crowded, even on a Saturday night. Good drinks, and a DJ.The one thing that could be improved are the coin slots. Beware, many will eat your tokens. This downside does make it much more authentic and brings back its own nostalgia.
Fun place to drink and play old school arcade games. I went on a friday and they had a DJ playing the hits. I liked the digital beer menu and wide variety of beers on tap. The bartenders were all making some fancy cocktails at a fast pace so there werent long waits to get another drink.
Love. This. Place.Pinball? Check. Vintage arcade games? Check. Huge and wonderful beer selection? Check. Amazing bartenders that are expert drink makers? CHECK! If youre into that sort of thing this is the place for you. Theres also a couple of food options on the first floor in case you also need some grub!
Two was a really great bartender and made me a new creation that ended up being one of my favorite drinks. He made us feel very welcome and let us know courteously that they were closing soon. Ill definitely be back for DJ nights (on friday and saturday) and happy hours on Monday and Tuesday ♡
Bar tenders are great, arcade games are awesome, and music is good. Definitely my new favorite bar in OC. Even the food downstairs is amazing. Took a bit to find the place since its not on the first floor with the food court but with its own floor upstairs you have more room to mingle and play games.
Always lots of fun. The machines are a great throwback, and you can have a great time playing some old games. The drinks are delicious if you like cocktails. Theres no kitchen in mission control though. So if you are hungry, theres food downstairs, or you can go to the 4th street market which is just a block over.
Good beer. Good atmosphere. Well maintained games.5 stars if they closed at 2 AM as advertised...not Cali 2 (1:30 AM).Edit: I would respond to the owners reply but I dont see that ability. Make no mistake, Im not talking about last call, Im talking about when we were asked to leave. Last call was 1:15ish, people were told, last game at 1:25.If youre going to close at 1:30 AM, fine, just dont post that you close at 2AM. If Im driving 45 minutes to an hour to play some pins, itd be nice to know the actual closing time.
This place was so cool all of the memorabilia and games and the food was also delicious the beer on tap was definitely yummy until they ended up running out of sublime beer. Not going to lie I didnt really like the co-ed bathrooms. But I guess it went with the modern decor. Theres a bunch of food places downstairs you can bring your food up and eat it there which I thought was pretty cool.
Love this place. Its on the second floor, great old school games, and the drink selection is great along with some really talented bartenders. Only downer is that we cant smoke on the patio so you have to go up and down 2 sets of stairs. Im not really a smoker but my friends are and its a bit inconvenient. Also!!! I recently reserved a space for my brothers bday. I highly recommend this. Its reasonable and gets packed so you ensure seating for guests who want to relax and you can order food as well. I was helped by Chandler and he is hands down amazing. He went above and beyond and is a great character. Chloe helped me with my reservation and food orders. She was responsive and helpful as well.Overall I love this place!!
It was a fun place to be at! I went on a Friday night. You have to be 21 and over. They ID and stamp you at the door when trying to enter the bar upstairs. They have a DJ and cool blacklights and good drink selections. Park at the nearest parking structure. It accepts cards. Just make sure you have cash to get tokens for the games. If you dont have cash, you can ask for tokens using your card at the bar when you get a drink.
Great place that offers a bit of a different activity i.e. enjoying some of your favorite old school arcades for a great price (25/50 cents per game). Bar is good. Keep in mind they offer mixology type stinks so if its a busy night, could be a while before you get a drink, even if its just beer.
I went there for my first time tonight and it was a blast. I know Ill be back next weekend they have live DJ, full bar, plenty of fun games, and some drink specials worth checking out. Also the crowd is great plenty of dancers and if thats not for random people would come up and tell me about a game I was staring at.
An adult arcade of classic 1980s-1990s games with a decent selection of pinball machines in good shape. The pinball machine side bumpers are set to the most difficult (read, ball hungry) adjustment, so be prepared to throw down a lot of quarters two at a time. They have a respectable beer list with bartenders that seem to know a little more about the cocktails they are serving than the beer. There are plenty of food options downstairs as well.
Good bar, good drinks, good location, good music, below average arcade. A bunch of machines dont work, some of the joysticks, guns, or buttons arent responsive, and the its difficult to look through the multi-cabinets. Some of them dont let you look through the Gabes like games unless you put a tokem in, ABC egg you do youre timed on picking a game. Some machines take tokens and dont do anything. A lot of the staff isnt sure how the machines work either and function more on the bar aspect. Decent selection otherwise. Also, theres no food.
Fun spot for date night or a night with the boys. Old school arcade games along with stiff cocktail drinks. Reminds me of the good days when I had a pocket full of loose change at Nickel Nickel. Pinball enthusiasts and nostalgic gamers alike will enjoy reminiscing the past and their youth with a new age spin at the Mission Control.
Ordered a decent beer that came in a Teku glass. Played a couple rounds of pinball on different machines. Turns out, the cup holders on the machines have a vertical slot that runs down the length of the side and the glass is exactly the right height that it will tip straight through the half inch wide slot and dump your entire beer on the floor. And theyll flat out refuse to replace it with even the cheapest beer on the house. Meh.
The atmosphere is the only reason to come to this bar. More than a quarter of the machines are perpetually broken and the drinks are much too expensive for my taste. The bartenders are plenty friendly and there is food right downstairs if you cant drive but are feeling the need to eat.
Best place in Los Angeles to play paintball. Machines are only $.50. I would’ve given five stars if the parking wasn’t so stupid. I also fear for Mission Control’s longevity because the Coffee shop on the bottom floor is never opened, and some vendors downstairs put their chairs upside down on the tables before the Mc Fadden Public Market is closed. These are horrible first impressions.
10/10 made me feel like i was in NY or something in the 90’s playing vintage video games !King of fighters. All pac mans. All of the pin ball machines imaginable.Street fighterThey also had a very diverse crowd on Friday nights where a DJ came and spinned! Dope vibes. #Nostalgia

2022-06-30Great place to hang and have a few beers or signature cocktails $12, happy hour and chairs to sit and catch Pokémon. Not busy or overly crowded, sanitation stations are conveniently located by the restrooms.

2021-08-18This place rocks! Great selection of pinball machines as well as other great games. They have a cool bar (and bartender) that helped give us recommendations on drinks. Theres also a little food hall down stairs where you can get your munching on. Lots of parking available in the back of the building.

2019-10-21Great place for beer and cocktails. As someone else pointed out, there is no elevator. But once inside, if you grew up in the 80s nostalgia runs riot. Old school pinball and video games...loved it. There is a change machine for tokens to play the games. $1 gets your 4 tokens, pinball is 2 tokens, the video games I played were each one token. Place is awesome.

2022-06-02The bartenders are nice and the game selection is fantastic! I loved all the pinball machines and it only costs 2 tokens (equivalent to $0.50) to play. If you get hungry, theres a great ramen place down stairs and if you want wings, its right next to the ramen place. I went with my husband and we spent most of the night here for only $20. Definitely worth the trip!Edit: dont come here when theres a pinball tournament, theyre absolutely rude and literally broke a pinball machine while playing because they were hitting it so hard like it personally insulted them. Im leaving it a 5 star because of the employees who have to deal with this. My husband and I left early because of them and their general chaos.

2022-04-12Fun place to get a drink and play some video games. A lot of the video games buttons dont work very well. Tried playing the Simpsons game and mortal kombat but the buttons wouldnt work. Some machines will take your money too.

2019-04-26I was walking down Main Street when I saw this open door that look interesting. It was something along the lines of a market and I looked inside it look like there was several restaurants but when I went in they were still fixing up their kitchens and were not open for business yet. I saw some video games and when I was looking at them I saw a guy come down from the second floor so I walked up there. There was a ton of video games and pinball machines up there. I was so excited to see all of the pinball machines and all the different fun themes they had. And in the corner was nice little bar called Mission Control with lots of beers on tap, I tried one that was a IPA from Santa Ana locally and it was delish. I look forward to going back to this establishment in the future when I have more time and Im in the area to spend some time playing all those pinball machines.
