I edit a poetry magazine, Blue Unicorn, which has been around since 1977 and has used several printers. Minuteman in Berkeley is the best. They produce the magazine with the multiple checkpoints and attention to detail one expects of a book publisher--maybe because Minuteman produces books as well.

Minuteman Press did a wonderful printing job on my guitat instruction book, BLUES TO JAZZ. Their turnaround time was quick and their prices reasonable. They even succeeded in adding an extra red border outside the existing yellow one on the front cover! (A previous printer had told be that was impossible). Ill be using Minuteman again soon for the printing of my second book!
Our basketball club has been using Minuteman Press each year to print and deliver our Tournament program. Their delivery of the proof makes getting to the end a cinch. Ive never had a problem with communication or the final product. Their price is right, too, so well be using them again for the next project.

Simply the worst experience Ive had in my 20 years of using printers. They did not honor any one of five estimates they made in writing, they sent paper samples that were not the quality (weight) they claimed they were, and then various people in the company blamed other people in the company for the myriad of mistakes that were made, including the owner. When I had to have my project redone by another company (they kept their word about EVERYTHING and their quote was so much lower, too) I requested a small refund for all the months I wasted when I had trusted Minuteman Press. This was to offset the additional costs of having my layout person removed Minuteman Press name from the credit I had given them. Minuteman ignored my reasonable offer, so even though they admitted they made countless mistakes, it was ultimately up to me to pay for their ineptitude and unprofessionalism. This is the first time Ive ever posted a negative review about any company -- simply because its the first time I have been treated so horribly by any company. What a nightmare all around -- and its not even a he said, she said thing. Minuteman Press owner ADMITTED in writing that they made the mistakes I claimed they did... You would think that after wasting so many months of my life and misrepresenting their written quotes again and again and causing my project to come in past the deadline they could at least have paid me the lousy $150 I asked for. Had they done that, I wouldnt have posted such a review.

On November 2, 2013, my only brother, Robert died. I approached Minuteman Press Fred Fassett, explaining to him t;hat I wanted a funeral program created with pictures that would honor my brothers memory. I requested a quote for a small job that I needed within the week, and after two days of no reply, I had to call to find out that they “don’t really do that.” Clearly considerate communication is not a strong suit. Now I regret trying to patronize a local business over one of the big shipping/printing centers.

2021-12-17I am extremely impressed by the customer service, the quality of the product, and the value.When my printer died in the middle of a project, I needed a way to quickly get a printed project out. After finding the FedEx Offices, the UPS Store and other sources to be cost prohibitive, I decided to do one more search and found that Mintueman press offered more reasonable pricing.They first said they couldn’t complete it in my time deadline, but they then got back to me and said they could fit my job in if I got files to them right away.Well, they worked closely with me, calling me several times to ensure we were producing what I needed.They quickly completed my job with quality that exceeded my expectations.Along the way, they were friendly, helpful, and professional.I will certainly use them again!

The reasons are very high quality work, timely professional advice when we need it, and very timely responses when we ask for bids on a project. Their rates are excellent as they offered lower bids than several others we received.

2021-12-05Weve used them at a local nonprofit I work at for decades (before they were MP). I like the fact I can call someone and they take care of many of the unknown issues that come up with printing. Not the cheapest but worth the extra expense.

They give me a proof before printing but it seems quite unnecessary as its always perfect. If I need things in a rush, they deliver.
