OK experience turned into a great experience. I went in to have a rear wheel hub replaced. I spoke to the counter person there telling them Americas Tire store sent me there to have wheel hub repaired or replaced. He said it will need to be replaced and he will order and call me and give me an eta of when the part will come in. I waited 2 weeks no call? I called back and a different person answered and said they will research and call me back? Next day no call so i called back. They said the 1st guy i spoke to left the company and that he will be handling my service. He told me the part was in and and I scheduled an appointment. I showed up for my appointment and they showed me the invoice which was billed to Americas Tire and I signed it. It was over $1,000. They said it would take about 3 to 4 hrs. So i called an Uber for a ride home. An hour later they called and said the car is ready? They said the hub was stripped and their guys was able to retap it and it was done. When i picked up the car and i looked at the invoice and it was only $150. I applaude them for being honest and doing a great job. They could have just replaced the hub and charged Americas Tires over $1,000.
I had an appointment to have my oil changed at 3 pm. They didn’t get started on my car until we’ll past 3:45. There was only one guy working on the cars. In which there was only one car other than mine there being worked on. The other two guys were standing around talking to him watching him work. When he was done with my car, the guy in the office said I needed a new air filter, my battery failed and some other small stuff. So instead of just paying the $30 out the door like I planned. They tried to get me for $450.00! $325.00 of it was for a battery that I didn’t even need!!! It ends up that that manager who worked on my car put the wrong numbers in his computer so my car would intentionally fail so I would have to buy a battery from them! I told the guy behind the counter I can buy a much cheaper battery up the street. So I started calling around. I went to Auto Zone and they checked the Battery, Alternator and Starter and everything was registered good on their computer and they could have made money off of me. They are nothing but Crooks!
Very professional, got me in right away even though they were fully booked. I will be returning for a full tune up and air conditioner service. If you are looking for a honest place you can trust, this is the place. Honest, excellent work ethic, this is what you have at this shop. In this day and age these things are difficult to come by. 10 Stars, happy to find this someone I can trust with my vehicle.
I can not even express the feeling of gratitude I have towards Dario and Abraham at Meineke. My car window was literally broken into earlier that week, got it fixed and then my water pump burst the next day on the freeway which threw off the belt that I had to have a tow truck take my car to them. My anxiety/ stress was beyond the charts and they both were so amazing, calm and extremely helpful. They explained everything so thoroughly, especially in a way my stressed brain could take as well as walked me through what needs to be done with my car. They went so far and beyond to help me and I can not say thank you enough. I am so glad I found this place and will continue to come here for any hopefully not much car needs.
So I own a Honda and the A1 maintenance light showed up which is a simple tire rotation/oil change reminder. I went in and told them that my A1 notification showed up and the guy on the counter told me that the notification is for a valve cover gasket replacement which is not true. They quoted me about $400 dollars for that job (which he also stated that included the oil change that my car needed) and its not something that my car even needs. I wont be giving them any business any longer and would rather take the 15 minute drive to the dealership that will be honest and not charge me for a service my car does not need. This used to be my go to place for oil changes and any maintenance needs for my car but that will no longer be the case after today. Do what you will with this information but they prey on the ignorance of non-car people and that is something that the public should be aware of. Save your money and go elsewhere for a second opinion if they cite that your vehicle need work after your oil change.Edit: so I reached out to the company and have yet to receive a reply. They’re just trying to save face in their reviews by pretending that they care for their customers when in reality they don’t.
Nick is the gentleman that gave my car an oil change. He was VERY informative and was one of the kindest mechanics Ive ever met! Upon doing an inspection of my car, that was included with my oil change, he showed me problems with my car that I was unaware of. He was honest and most polite with me and took the time to actually show me the things that were wrong with my car. How often do you find an honest car mechanic?? Anyway, I was most impressed with Meineke and their employees. I will most definitely go back to them!! And a special thanks to Nick, who proved to me that there are honest, good mechanics out there and Im very grateful for that! Thank-you, Nick!
Booked an appointment for an alignment on a Saturday and got an email confirming the appointment. When I brought the car in (2hrs early), they had all the info for my appointment, but was told that they couldn’t get me in until Monday morning. Alignment wasn’t done until 3:30pm on the Monday, 2 days after my appointment. I asked if they could offer any sort of discount for their error and the inconvenience caused, but was told there was nothing they could do. They are too busy to worry about customer service, so I would take your car to an independent shop that would appreciate your business.
Meineke did an awesome job, they did the diagnostic and kept me informed with video and photos of the repairs needed to be done. Once I approved the repairs they completed the work and had my vehicle ready for pick up before the end of the same business day. They were great!
I brought my car in for a pre purchase appraisal right during their lunch time. Even with fewer workers, they were quick to get the car inspected and show me their findings. I was assured of the vehicles condition and this made me confident in my purchase. On top of that the inspection is fairly priced. All employees wore masks and the environment was clean 👍🏼
Great customer service, quality repairs and trustworthy guys. I appreciate they take the time to explain issues and recommended repairs, without talking down to me because Im a woman who doesnt know much about cars, or try to oversell me on unnecessary work. I always feel like a valued customer. Labor costs are kinda high, but still cheaper than the dealership. Download their app for coupons and points to compensate.
Please I beg of you do not use this service... My car overheated I brought my 2005 ford focus here they quoted me 1200 dollars to install a new water pump and thermostat housing. Let me tell you why thats insane on the price break down the water pump was 120 called auto zone they sell it for 40 and the therm housing they quoted me 300 for that part auto zone had it for 50... 5 house of labor at 150 a hour when i called another shop and they got it done for 2 hours of labor at 100 a hour. they literally try and take advantage of everyone that goes there.
I took my van in to get a new starter and they charged me over $600. $200 of that was for the labor 😢. They did an excellent job but it was super expensive during these pandemic times. Well...there goes my rent money. On the bright side, my van is running again. Thank you
They will not take responsibility for damages they cause and expect to charge you to repair it. My truck went in just fine and now Im coming home with bad brakes that they strip the bolts and tried to blame others doing it wrong and not them. If they would able to take off the bolts just fine in the first place then it should go back in perfect.
Great place that I have trusted for a couple years now with all of my cars. Carl is upfront, firm, and very straightforward never trying to sugarcoat or give you the run-around. Which seems to be hard to find most the time especially when it comes to the maintenance of your vehicle, being a woman you never want to be played a fool or given false information that leads to money being taken and still have reoccurring issues, I can honestly say I never felt that way here and every time I had an issue w/ a car I always had the issue resolved here at Meineke.
Dave provided amazing service on my Roadtrek van. I had to spend a bit because I actually needed to replace parts that were neglected from the previous owner. Dave was honest about what was needed on my vehicle drove it to make sure it was okay realize that my bushings were out of commission. After driving the vehicle with my new tires new alternator and bushings and sensors it drove like a brand new vehicle and I felt very secure about it. Im a woman so Im leery about being charged for parts but I feel Very confident about this shop they really do take care of you here. This is my go-to shop for my RV I love it thanks guys for making it right and taking care of me.
I took car in initially for tire pressure light. While there I decided to get the oil change and air conditioning service I had been putting off. 2-1/2 hours later I drove away, then noticed my tire pressure light was still on. I had to turn around and take car back. Jason, the Manager said the light was still on because I didnt let them check the spare tire (in the trunk) which makes no sense. I thought the service was good until got this lame excuse, which he insisted upon. Women beware. I will not be going back to the Meineke in West Sac.
They were a great group they took very good care of me prices were very very very cheap I was really stunned with the prices they looked over my truck they pointed out the problems that needed to be fixed.I’m actually thinking about taking the truck back and getting those issues fixed my husband said no but the price is cheap and I could afford it I don’t feel like this company is out to gouge anybody either up to help people which made me feel very comfortable.I always believe somethings better than nothing that’s my Moto with my business. Due to the fact that they weren’t try to squeeze a penny out of me I’m gonna take my truck back and get those other items repaired.Cheers,Elena
Owen was incredible from the first time I called. They were very helpful and worked quickly to get the work done for me. Communication was key and I felt like they were really giving me all they could. Im always skeptical about working with shops, but I left Meineke getting confident that my car was well taken care of and that I wasnt taken advantage of. Thanks so much for your great customer service and for getting my car fixed!
I recently took my car into the Nissan dealership for a recall repair. They claimed I needed my drive belt replaced immediately. I brought it into meineke and they determined that Drive belt was not in need of replacement. So they didn’t charge me for the diagnosis. I have always trusted them with my vehicles, and this just proves they’re honest. They are great.
Honest and Trustworthy.Couldnt say enough about my satisfaction on the recent car service here. Owen (sales manager) and Dario (owner) personally helped me out with my cars problem. I had some major brake issues and they took care of my car despite the issue being difficult to diagnose. They only charged me for the service they said would fix my brakes (master cylinder), and when this didnt fix the issue, they rented me a car and spent over a week and bought multiple car parts and labor to install, free of charge. Darios mentality of being an honest mechanic and doing the right thing for his customers is honorable and worth noting, especially in a world where dealerships and some mechanics will take an arm and a leg when you bring your car in for service.
Went to get a oil changed, my car was taken into the bay right away. They informed me I needed the air filters and showed me how nasty they looked (cabin). I was informed I will need brakes soon and tires. No one pushed me to buy right away which was nice since most shops do. Thank you to Jeues, Mike, and Aaron for all your help will be back for my brakes soon!
Extremely poor service. Made an appointment for 1pm. They told me it was going to take 1 1/2 hours. It took them 3 1/2 hours. They didn’t explain why it took them so long. Their hand sanitizer was empty by the sign in desk and they had people in the waiting room without masks as they were waiting for their car. Horrible customer service. Won’t come here anymore.
Updated: I talked to the owner about my situation below. She was very helpful.I would not recommend this place! I was traveling from out of state and wanted my AC gas refilled. When I checked in, I had the pleasure of being checked in by the owner who was super nice and helpful. He was helping because his front desk person was not there at that time. When I came back to pick up my car, Owen helped. He told me my whole AC system was broken and gave me an estimate of $1049. I made the mistake of telling him I was not from the area. When I expressed my shock at the price tag, he asked me how much I wanted to pay, $800 he asked. I told him I was going to step outside for a minute and when I came back in, he had a new price of $760. This should have raised red flags all over but being from WA state, I really wanted my AC and I didn’t want the $100 some dollars for the diagnostic to go to waste. Then he asked me for a deposit “cash” for $200. That should have been my next red flag! I told him I wasn’t from here and didn’t have a lot of money with me and made the mistake of giving him the money. I left my car there because it was going to be the first in line on Saturday. All day Saturday goes by, I don’t here from anyone and when I show up to pick it up, I get another surprise. Owen tells me that they were able to change the whole AC system but that it was still not working and they figured out that the control consol was broken and that it was their fault because they didn’t not catch it and that they would pay for the part. He asked me to step outside and proceeds to tell me that if I pay him $470 cash or even $450, we could call it even and I just needed to come back on Monday to have the console piece switched out. I was supposed to leave Monday and ended up having to take another day of work because he promised my car would be ready by 11 am. He told me to drop it off by 8 am and guess what, when I showed up at 8 am, I was informed he would not be there until 9! My car was not done until 4 pm on Monday. When I showed up, Owen showed me the console he “switched out.” He thought I would be naive enough to not notice the piece he showed me was not what was in my car. When I came back to my car, my original console piece was still there! Who know what the heck he did but it was shady as heck! Now I have a nice rattle on my dashboard! I will definitively be taking my car to my mechanic when I get home!
Went in for an oil change now my car won’t start. Don’t trust them! And they discriminated against me because I’m a women, did a oil change and then suddenly there was 80 new problems with my car that was gonna cost me a whopping 18k! Do not trust these people! Ruined a good card, a Honda with only 160k just dies? I think not!
Very dissapointed with the service. I called to set up an early morning oil change and was told an estimate of 15 minutes to pull it into the bay, and 1 hour for the service. Not even close. Over 2.5 hours of waiting for an oil change and filter replacement. Completely unacceptable and unprofessional. I would have prepared a ride if I knew it would be an all day process (or would have avoided them all together). Over the phone they are very pleasant and tell you what you want to hear, but you will sit there waiting for your car and watching it sit in the bay without workers for hours.
Store 2354 in West Sacramento is completely incompetent. Waiting 1.5 hours for a basic oil change after calling ahead and making an appointment is unacceptable. Needless to say I did not get the oil change as I simply could not wait any longer. Please be up front with your customers as to what you can do. I would have gladly scheduled a later appointment but was told specifically to come at 1pm. By the way I was early for the appointment out of consideration of your time. I will not be back and will tell everyone I know in the area to not patronize your business.Very sincerely and extremely frustrated,Chris Close
I called with a brake issue at around 9:00 and had to leave West Sacto by 1:00 and these guys got me in to inspect my brakes and were able to get me out of there shop by 12:00. So I will continue going there since the service was so quick. They fixed the problem and actually pointed out a couple of other issues I am having without me mentioning the other issues!
My cars radiator blew while I was on the freeway. I had my car towed here. The engine was damaged and the repair costs would have been more than the car was worth. I decided to donate it to Habitat for Humanity. I thought that would be simple. It has not been simple. Meineckes has been wonderful about storing my car, helping with the title transfer, and getting me information I need (mileage). I had hoped I could get the car out of there right away. They are holding it for a week with no complaints, and being super helpful.
I received maintenance on my car from this location when my first problem arose. My car is a 99 Honda Accord and its my first car. The owner before me had paperwork to show for any of the work he had claimed to do. But me so gullible, I believed him in my hopes he was being honest. Meineke, its awesome manager Scott and the team have helped me through every problem. I really appreciate all the work done and I hope I can get another good team in the future to look at my car. I just want to thank everyone at Meineke for all their help!
Im a lyft driver and pay for my rental daily. The man on phone said i have to drop the car off for a FULL day for a oil change. Never in my life have i had to be without my rental for a full day just to change the oil. Especially when i was calling for a appointment. I called and who ever answered wasn’t friendly what so ever .twenty thumbs down for this place. Horrible
Today I had a totally unexpected emergency while out driving. I pulled into a parking lot to pay a bill parked and as I was getting out my car I heard a meow thinking nothing of it as I was parked by bushes I proceeded into the business. I get back into my car and drive about a mile then here the meow again I pull into meineke get out look under my car under the hood I looked everywhere as I hear the meowing cant see the cat anywhere. I then go into meineke tell the man my story and he wasted no time him and his fellow employee they go to my car and cant seem to see him either but hear him. Long story short these gentlemen are truly amazing they put my car up and took what they had to off from under my car to save this little kitten not to mention taking an hr of their day to do so free of charge. These guys truly saved the day and a little kittens life I couldnt of done it without them thats for sure!! You guys are HEROS! The guys that save the kitten decided to name him HELL CAT since he was saved from my charger! 😊😁
I went to the Folsom Blvd location to get my friends ac compressor replaced and all the employees on shift at that time (Zafar, Sunil and Ranjeet) all treated me excellent. They kept me informed the entire 6 hours I was there of what they were doing, how long it will take and how much it would cost. They worked that entire time on my friends vehicle with no complaint and a smile on their face. I used to be a Les Schwab customer but as long as the Folsom Blvd location stays this way I will only be giving my business to them. Especially since they are reasonably priced as well! Thanks guys! I really appreciate your hard work and I WILL be referring you to all my friends and family.
Took our 2002 Acura here for a oil change and Transmission flush and happy that we chose this place, the new manager is very professional and such a friendly staff the Auto mechanics explained everything that was done and it wasnt that pricey,we have already scheduled a oil change for our newer car to be done.
I went in for an oil change but they took time to check the source of my car overheating after taking the time to ask if there were any problems with my car...They checked the hoses, belts, looked for leaks, checked all the fluids and finally changed the oil and filter...The waiting area was clean, nice and get TV and magazines Adweek as cold water vending machine, which after being in a car overheating in Sacramento mid summer was terrible running the heater full blast.I can say:meineke was an Oasis in a car crisis! Thank you West Sacramento Meineke!!!
I took my 2004 Nissan Altima in to get its 100K mile service. I let them know what work I wanted done and Scott set me up with a fantastic auto tech Manny. During the 23 point inspection they do as part of their Preferred oil change service they showed me what else needed done. These are things I was going to have done anyway as part of my 100K tune-up. I was not given any sort of upsell as I have had in the past with other shops. The tech showed me where my valve cover was cracked. Doug, the owner of the shop even went and picked up the new part my car needed. He came into the shop with his lovely wife and shook my hand and thanked me for being a customer to his shop. After the engine was running smooth again the tech took it for a test drive and noticed a roughish shaking coming from the right front end and took me out on another test drive so I could feel it too. This was something I had attributed to a bad running engine. It is not. I took the car back today and they fixed up the broken motor mount that was causing the noise. I will be bringing my car here for the rest of its life. Thanks!
This was my first visit to Meineke, but not my last. Their service was in a timely manner and the cost was reasonable. Their staff was courteous, friendly and informative. I will return to Meineke for service. Thank you for this opportunity to share my experience at Meineke.
Came in roughly at 1000pst after speaking with Mike around 0935pst Saturday morning. I had a check engine light that was causing my engine to run very luggish. Mike stated that hed run the diagnostics free of charge. About an hour later Mike comes and says they need to hook up the vehicle to a machine that can detect where the problem is, I believe it was referred as a smoke machine . Another hour goes by and the problem has been detected. My O2 sensor needs to be replaced and was also causing other error codes to show up as a result. Mike orders a new O2 sensor and it gets there about 35 minutes later. After about 20 minutes of labor, the mechanic says its not the correct part. Soooo Mike re-orders the *correct* part and after installing it they bring the car out and say its good to go. $271.16 later and 4 hours later my day seems complete.... Well they didnt bother to test drive the vehicle after putting in the new O2 sensor. About 2 miles away from their shop, my check engine light comes back on. . . Today driving 4 miles to get gas my engine is smoking. Keep in mind, Mike did say that, He hopes this repair corrects the problem but, it might not. -Now is that a ridiculous statement or what!?!?! I couldnt imagine working and taking a customers money and telling them, Well sir, this might be the answer to the problem but, you might need to come back. I assumed that beings theyre mechanics and have the equipment to find out whats wrong that..... they would do just that. Now Ill have to go back in tomorrow and run a *free* diagnostics but, likely be charged $99.00 for some test to pin point whats exactly wrong, like I was for the smoke machine. A lot of venting here but, also some serious questionable work ethic here. * note * the mechanic Jared whom was on shift I felt gave me a complete honest answer upon returning after the check engine light came on again. He explained that he cannot pin point whats wrong because he needs a *cold-start* diagnostics. Also, Mike was a respectful fella. I personally, would just rather talk to the mechanic/person(s) working on my car rather than the front desk personal relaying a message.Hopeful for more of a sense of urgency attitude when I come back in tomorrow and will update a review if expectations are exceeded, respectively.
I am very upset about the way they deal with me. I was there yesterday on 25th September for oil change and ask them to check my rear parking lights not working. He said its gonna cost me 50$ for diagnosed the problem. I said OK .After two hours when I back to the shop he explained me that my car fuse box and harness doesnt supply power to back lights and that parts cost is 1500 $ to 2000. And labor to install that is around 500$. This makes me very upset because I was not in the position at this time to spend that much money on the car thats worth for 4000$. When I come back to my truck yard and talk to my truck mechanic about this problem. HE checked my fuse box and found that the fuse is gone . He replace the fuse lights start working. I was so disappointed with the thinking of this people those who make any one broke in second. Because the way he explained me the parts and labor cost around 2500$ and he charged me 160$ for whatever he done yesterday
Igood service but because I came in alone same old stigma a woman not having knowledge of automotive was quoted double and when I got my husband on the phone a shaving of brakes instead of total replacement option was offered. When will this stop. So women know your automotive stuff
Called a week ago, for an alignment, and they said to set up an appointment for a week from then because it was busy. So I set it up and went in today, 10 min before my appointment time. They said it would be 3 hours until my car could be looked at. I asked if they could do the free inspection, as seen in the coupon pictured, and they said no. They didnt want to honor the coupon and said, no matter what, if I touch your car, its going to be $89.99. The guy at the desk didnt even offer any help at all. Terrible customer service and Im glad that they didnt get my business - they never will. Avoid this place.
I did a diagnostic and they gave me a receipt with a written note that stated what needed to be fxed. After I left I realized I needed the actual report that showed the codes. They keep saying the original is at the office. Without the codes I cannot get an estimate from anyone else.
I called spoke to Josh & Dan I believe very friendly got sons car in asap to inspect trail pipe bracket ,& called& sent pictures to confirm damage that couldnt be repaired & son & him discussed repair plan ,couldnt of asked for friendlier service & they werent out to take last dollar Exspecially on a fixed income & we appreciated that. As soon we can we will be back to have installed. Thank you for all your help.

2022-04-14Came here for an oil change, and was pressured to get this and that done instead of what I actually came for. I decided to come to Meineke based on everything they offer, however, none of my fluids got topped at, and my tires werent rotated ( I marked them to always know if the mechanics actually do their jobs). Will definitely not be coming back to this location. Took over an hour to get my car in and out. A waste of a Saturday!

2022-02-26I visited Meineke for an oil change and it was a great experience. I was notified of estimates and any charges or recommendations along the way via text as they were working on my car and got to approve or decline the recommended services. The appointment system was easy and accurate, the staff was friendly and everything felt honest. I am very satisfied with my service so far.

2022-06-04I took my car in for an oil change and inspection because my car was shaking. I ended up needing a lot more done but everything was legit and it honestly wasn’t as expensive as I thought it would be. They did a great job and got everything done in a few hours. I didn’t have a place I trusted before so I’m happy I took my car to them and now I have reliable place to return to that I know will take care of my car. I would highly recommend them.

2022-05-11Dont go here. They not only damaged my girlfriends car, they later admitted that they knew another part needed to be replaced but didnt replace it or tell her it needed to be replaced. This negligence was a huge risk to her safety. We only found out after her car started smoking and another mechanic inspected it and called them out on their mistake. Despite this, they still wanted to charge her several hundred dollars for the experience. I guess the Meineke experience is being charged to have your car turned into a time bomb.Edit: they ultimately refunded half the labor costs after a ton of pushback. So in fairness, maybe their standard is only a 50 percent chance of turning your car into a time bomb.

2022-01-26I recently bought a salvaged car at an auction. The car had no transmission fluid and Meineke serviced my transmission when other shops refused to do it. This wasnt my first time as a customer at Meineke and each time I came to them, they did a fantastic and professional job whether it was an oil change or alignment. I highly recommend these guys, they know what they are doing and they havent ripped me off yet!

2022-01-11I got an oil change, tire rotation, tire repair and cabin filter replacement. They never reset the tire sensor, so thats been on for months. I went in today to inquire about a code reading for my check engine light. Im told, $180. Fortunately another mechanic was honest and told me autozone does free diagnosis. I bring the diagnosis back to Meineke, to be quoted $380 with only needing half an hour of labor. The part is $25-$80, in no way adding up to $380. Got quoted $112 for the same work at another shop. Also have a big diesel truck that costs like 350 for an oil service...they wont be getting another $1 from me.

2021-12-05The West Sac Meineke has the best customer service of all auto care places I have been. They are straight forward and let you know what your car needs and what you need to watch for future repairs. I have been to lots of other auto shops and I can tell you these guys and gals know their stuff.
