Dr Dornton and the staff are awesome! My parents bring all their animals to LVH so when my dog cut his leg when we were visiting from out of town, we called to see if we could get in. They got us in right away and did a fantastic job. After care was fantastic as well as they got us in to get the staples removed before we left for home 10 days later. Very supportive and helpful during a stressful time. Thanks to everyone in the office!!!
Weve been very happy with Lodi Vet Hospital! Weve taken our dogs here for over 10 years. Theyve always taken wonderful care of them and are very reasonably priced. From diagnosing an issue in our older dog, stitching up our puppy when he got into trouble, neutering, regular shots and check ups and even nail trims theyve been great for all of it.
Prices are a little high, but its well worth it. This is one of the only vets Ive found that regularly calls you with updates and they even called the next day after my pups surgery to make sure he was doing okay and get us on the books for a checkup. I always feel like my babies are in good hands here.
Love this vet office. The doctors are very knowledgeable and caring. The staff are also super efficient, friendly and knowledgeable. We take our two cats and one dog in for their regular check-ups and anything else that happens to come along and we always feel secure in the knowledge that we will get the best care here.
Have been a pet parent for many, many years. Dogs and cats. I have absolute trust and faith in the doctors and the entire staff of Lodi Veterinary Hospital and can not say enough about their thoroughness, knowledge and high standards. They care for my pets as if they were their own. They share their stories of their own animals and experiences and make it fun to go in and have work done no matter what is needed. Compassionate and understanding. Gentle and caring. The Best.
Wonderful office! Very easy to get in to see the vet and super friendly staff! They kept us updated while waiting for the blood test on our kitty to be completed and gave several options for treating his illness. Dr. Dormer even called on Monday to verify we were able to get kitty to take his pill! Thats service!!!
For over 16 years Lodi Veterinary Hospital has been caring for all of our pets. They have provided them with the best care in the most affordable way. They have the most caring staff that go out of their way to give emotional support to us and our pets when needed. Always caring, always professional.
Only vet’s office I trust with any of my babies. They’ve been seeing my dog since she was a puppy, and my cat has been a client for the last year. Before that we went to another vet’s office and they did a bunch of unnecessary testing and had ZERO answers. I brought her here and they diagnosed her and fixed the problem in one short visit. Absolutely recommend. They also take a few types of payment plans (scratchpad and such)
I chose this veterinary business due to their website. I was not disappointedEveryone was very friendly. I highly recommend this vet office. If you want a little more detail, read on.I was late for my appointment however I was met with a smile. The wait to be seen was short. I did not have my dogs records from previous vet (who sold their business). The associate here said no probblem. She called and got the information. The vet herself was very friendly sat in the chair next to me and listen to my concerns and the history of my dogs aliment. She told me the procedure she would do to gather more information. The tests they ran and the procedure and shot updates were quick. Again the vet comes in tells me what she found, made recommendations, prescribe an antibodic and said she would call me in a week. Of course if I had any concerns in the meantime I was to call in. My only negative would be that my appt was a couple weeks out.
I was new in the area, and looking for a good Veterinarian to take care of my Beethoven. He had an exam just as we were leaving the last state we were living in, and I was told he needed dental cleaning and some extractions. The whole staff treated us very well, Dr Webster took care of Beethoven, and in just a short time he was healed and feeling well again.I am extremely pleased with and thankful for Lodi Veterinary Hospital.
The staff is always so attentive and truly understands the special bond their customers have with their non-conventional family members. Through professionalism, empathy, love, and compassion, they create an environment where you know your pets are in the best hands possible.
This is the best veterinary hospital in Lodi. Dr. Dornton and Dr. Webster are wonderful, caring people who do what is best for both the pet and the owner. The staff, what can I say, the best. I have had to bring in two cats within a week of each other so that they could cross to Rainbow Bridge. I cant say enough about the respect that was shown to me and my kitties. If you have questions, they find out the answer. Please consider taking your pet to Lodi Veterinary Hospital for their care, you wont regret it.
The Lodi Vet Hospital is the epitome of a town vet clinic. Everyone is friendly. They love all animals. The vets are very knowledgeable. They only give you the medicine / prescription / tests you actually need which keeps the cost to what it should be. They have walk-in every day at 3pm so you can come get your animal healthy without having to make an appointment. We have been going here since we moved to Lodi over a year ago and were totally satisfied.
Dr. Webster and his team saved our sweet little Papillon’s life after she fell into heart failure over the weekend. They saw us without an appointment, treated it like the emergency it was, and all with excellent attention to detail and care. We are blown away by this animal hospital! The staff was so incredibly warm and friendly and they even had a fantastic sense of humor which was such a nice touch given how scared and tense I was for my dog. We cannot recommend Dr. Webster and his team enough. Top-notch care and service. 👏🏼🐶
Would not take my dog to any other vet. Dr. Dornton is the best. Support staff is also excellent and provide you great customer service. Their walk in clinic Monday thru Friday, 3 to 5 PM, is so convenient when something comes up or my schedule is crazy busy. I find their fees to be reasonable.
Lodi Veterinary Hospital is the best place to take your furry family. The staff and doctors are amazing people and they care about the care your family receives. They have taken care of 3 of our furry babies and couldnt have been more compassionate in times of need to us and our babies. Honest professional compassionate care. You cannot ask for more.
Ive tried over the last hour to write a thoughtful, helpful review. I dont write reviews... ever, but this is different. There isnt anything I wouldnt do for our pups. Id like to opportunity to help other pet owners. Weve recently started coming to Lodi Veterinary Hospital, over the last year. It started last year in a desperate situation, of a misdiagnosis of internal bleeding, then again this summer, with our sweet little Chuck who had nearly lost all of he cornea, in his left eye, and facing permanent blindness due to allergies. At Lodi Veterinary Hospital, the staff was so helpful, and they seemed to care about our pets. Whats more, our dogs seem almost comfortable when they go into Lodi Veterinary Hospital. All 3 are rescue dogs, from very sad and desperate situations. They dont trust easily. Im glad to have a place to bring our pets, where I dont feel like Ive had to compromise because theres nothing better. Weve been to a few local vets, but now at Lodi Veterinary Hospital, we can see they really want to figure out how to treat our little Chuck. (He goes there most often). Hed been misdiagnosed by other vets in the area for years, and his eyes paid the price. Chucks eyes are slowly degenerating, and dry out easily. The previous vets said it was allergies, so antihistamines were a daily course of treatment. Antihistamines that made his eyes dryer, to the point the dryness caused the wearing away of his cornea. I think we found people who care at Lodi Veterinary Hospital. I was disappointed when I heard Dr. Elaine was retiring, but so relieved to find out how kind, knowledgeable and helpful Dr. Webster is. He treated Chuck, as if he was his own dog. He took the time to explain what needed to be done to help Chuck, and alternatives. It felt like Chuck was his only patient. Im glad to finally have a place I trust to bring our pets. Oh, and Chucks cornea has almost completely regenerated, we dont know for certain is his vision is completely restored, but we know Chuck is receiving proper treatment, and is almost back to his old happy self.
This was the 1st visit for Archer, but Ive brought our other dog on several occasions. He (Archer) got a thorough check up- kicked the tires, topped off all his under the hood fluids-he has 3 thumbs up for health. The staff was attentive and accommodating. They had us wait while any animals were cleared and we could be safely enter. Archer is great w/kids, but he HATES cats! Did I mention that this is a male German Shepherd weighing in excess of 115 lbs?!? All in all, fast work for him, price is a little high, but you get what you pay for.
The staff at Lodi Veterinary Hospital are friendly and courteous and sincerely care about your pet. I am a new pet owner and both Drs answered all of my questions with patience and in a manner that I understood. In fact when I took my puppy in because I thought that he might have contracted Parvovirus (he didnt) just an upset tummy Dr called and checked on him to find out how he was doing. I would recommend this Veterinary Hospital without reservation.
This is truly a hospital with a team of caring people who provide everything from basic care to extreme problems. They have been the one place I take all my pets - many cats and dogs over the years, and even one hamster! They are great with animals in every way, and can even take care of stress out owners!
This place has come through yet again. Didnt have an emergency but was able to get in quickly with my new pup Shelby with an urgent care appointment.Used LVH last year with my sick dog and they were able to do all the tests needed at a fraction of estimates elsewhere. No veterinary business is cheap, but I have found multiple times that the rates here are better than others in town.Doctors and techs are compassionate too.
If I could give no stars I would. I went here because I saw the good reviews and my experience was not good. The vet was interested in where I got my dog and how far I had to drive rather then my puppies health. Then gave her another deworming pill even tho she has been dewormed 3 other times and she was only 12 weeks old. The vet said that their deworming was probably better. She threw up the pill pocket that the pill was in once we got home. Unhappy and changed vets.
We have been clients at LVH for about 20 years and were pleased with Dr. Dornton the entire time. The transition to new ownership was seamless (IMO).Weve now seen Dr. Webster (new owner) for 3 of our 5 pets (2 Giant Breed dogs, 2 Large Breed Dogs & 1 Egocentric Cat). Personally, I like his candid, straightforward demeanor. He really listens, I do not feel rushed & I get very good information. Additionally, I like that he refers to a specialist as early as possible. For instance, our Golden needed to see an ophthalmic specialist (we chose from the 3 provided) and we were able to quickly and easily coordinate getting the necessary records transmitted between offices. On the treatment/prescription front, our itchy Anatolian has been doing well for about a year on a daily regimen of Apoquel when Dr. Webster mentioned Cytopoint injections. We checked into it and for us it seemed a safer treatment that turns out is less expensive and doesnt require a daily pill & treat (shes a senior giant breed who needs to reduce caloric intake - so, YAY, thatll help). We have not found costs to have increased any more than I would normally see over time and we continue to receive excellent service from Carrie, Sabrina, Colleen, Kelly and the newer staff members. Finally, kudos on using an online appointment management system - it frees staff time as well as my own.Bottom line: we will continue to recommend Lodi Veterinary Hospital whenever asked.
My Harley Quinn is doing so much better then this morning when we brought her in. She ate real good and when i put her in the cat box she took off running. Had to corral her to get her out but she is meowing and purring in her crate. Thank you so much for helpping with our fur baby and not draining my bank account.
Last year my lil Maggie was very sick. I had to feed her carry her outside for potty time etc. it was a very stressful time After several tests we discovered Maggie had bladder stones the ones that dont dissolve with meds. Dr Dorton performed the surgery with success. Maggie just celebrated bday 11. She is full of spunk, my shadow my love. I am very grateful for Dr Dorton and staff. Prior to this they assisted with helping my mother with putting her cat down due to cancer. you couldnt ask for a more pleasant staff or office. I recommend Lodi veterinary hospital for your fur babies care.
They helped our sick kitty, hes all better now! Tommy was a stray who came to us post dog attack. He developed Pneumonia and we thought he was going to not make it. Lodi Veterinary got him back up on his feet and hes been neutered and is now living in the lap of cat luxury.
I have been a client of Lodi Vet/Dr. Elaine Dornton since 1995 when I moved to Acampo and LVH became German Shepherd Rescues primary vet in 2000. Dr. Dornton is a very conscientious vet who takes a conservative approach when treating your pet. She isnt one to run a bunch of tests, trying to figure out whats wrong. She does her research, she discusses issues and options, and she listens (to you). In Oct. 2014, my dog (Jared) and I were attacked by Pit Bull. A SJ Sheriffs Deputy called Dr. Dornton on my request and she came by my house to take a look at Jared AFTER HOURS. When I lost Jared in May, I called Karrie AFTER HOURS and asked if LVH could make all the arrangements to have him cremated (he died at home). Absolutely was Karries answer. I trust Dr. Dornton and I know LVH is in good hands with her successor, Dr. Webster. Dr. Dornton is not only my vet but she is my friend and I feel the same way about her staff.
My first time in Lodi veterinary hospital I was nervous because my puppy was such in a terrible state he had been beaten up buy another dog and my dog is only 8 weeks old I was so scared for my puppy but when I got in the door of this hospital and the compassion that everyone had for my dog was awesome they brought him back from death and I will forever be thankfulYou are so much more than 5 stars

2022-06-24My dog has been at this facility since her arrival into this earth! She had a previous doctor that retired that was amazing with her, the last two times I have tried to get her into this is that they put her a month out! She has gotten older now and needs more help and they really could care less!!! Very sad! Needless to say I found a beautiful that’s on Ham lane that could get her in the next day because they care! Thank you Rebecca Longwell I do not recommend this business

2021-05-15My daughters German shepherd had a mysterious boil appear on her neck. It was a Saturday, and of course, during covid. No emergency vet would help her, or even give her any comforting advice. Lodi Veterinary hospital sent a nurse out to the car so at least my daughter could relax knowing she wouldnt die before getting her into an appointment. Sometimes a piece of mind from a friendly, knowledgeable source can be extremely helpful. Thank you, thank you, thank you

2020-08-07Very courteous service at a reasonable price. When other vet offices are charging $450 for a male cat neuter, these guys got everything done for $208. Neuter, shots, microchip, and they even took care of the chip registry. Curbside Drop-off and pick-up were smooth, quick, and effortless. Everyone I interacted with was very friendly.

2021-06-17We brought our dog to them for years and he had a high liver count along with a skin issue and they never put it together that it was related to a liver issue. We brought him in when the liver was 1000 and a normal liver supposed to be 100 and they told us it was probably due to thyroid. Our daughter who is a medical student said that is not true and to bring him to another vet ASAP and we did not listen to her. We waited another few months to bring them back as they told us to and by that time his liver was way too far gone. We took him to UC Davis where he had to spend nine days only to come home with us for two days to pass away. We relied on them two help our dog and we gave them open range to do whatever at any time we never restricted them financially either. We are pulling all of our records for all of our animals. This dog meant everything to us and it’s so sad that they took such poor care of him and did not look for underlining issues that could’ve been prevented.

2019-07-09Great pet hospital. Unfortunately I had to bring our puppy in when she suddenly started running a fever and had issues with her back near her tail. We had not yet gotten a vet in the 8 months we had her. We made an emergency appointment and from that first phone call all the way through everyone has been so caring and helpful. The doctor is very nice and was helpful each time we were in the office. He explained everything he was doing and why he was doing it. My puppy is better now thanks to every person at Lodi Veterinary Hospital and their help every step of the way. I am glad we made the call that day to Lodi Veterinary hospital and no one else despite the other options.

2017-08-31All the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Dr. Webster was gentle and soothing to my little rescue, she loved him so I did too. Both vet techs that worked with my dog were sweet and their love of animals showed through; extra praise for them.
