Booked the NoHo sweet, primarily for two reasons: 1 - I loved the pictures of the balcony, and 2 - me and my girlfriend were both going to be working for the trip and having multiple rooms would be nice. We also had 1 car and I had to leave early to go to warehouses, so having continental breakfast there she could grab was a must, and I made sure it was listed on their website before booking. The balcony pictures are completely misrepresenting - the picture shows turf and outdoor furniture, a coffee table, an umbrella, and makes it seem very private. Its a dirty cement floor with a dirty sectional around a drain. No coffee table, no umbrella, and theres another door from another room. The internet was horrible. Speedtests showing 1MG download through most of the days. Not only were wifi calls choppy most of the time, but were just completely dropping every few minutes throughout the entire day. They have no upgraded internet option. There was no continental breakfast. Just coffee. Despite it still being listed under every room on their actual website. This threw so many wrenches into our first day and overall was just a huge letdown. When I politely brought these issues up to the guy at the front desk, he went through the motions, but really didnt seem to care. The only solution they had to the internet was to open the business center on the second floor (one floor below us) which *might* have better internet, but we didnt book a big suite to spend all day in the business center for *hopefully* a better connection. As for the breakfast, they just took a picture of my phone showing their website and recommended a restaurant nearby. As for the deck, he didnt really respond. We ended up canceling the remainder of the reservation (which was a lot of work and stress) and having to find another hotel last minute, which ended up costing more for a standard hotel room, but at least it had good internet. They then charged me for parking (had no idea there was a parking charge), and when I called to get a receipt because it was charged to my company card, they said theyd send me one but itd show $0. I still dont quite understand why. The guy I talked to for that was nice enough and eventually figured it out, though.Overall a very disappointing, stressful, and frustrating experience.
Spent quality time with a special friend of mine of several years and we were pleased. The room was modern and had most things we use on our staycation trips; aside from no microwave, a fridge, iron & board, and several towels were included. One last tip- we loved the mediterranean restaurant off Ventura Blvd, west of Vineland Ave. A must try for all meat lovers.
Recently stayed at the Lexen hotel in North Hollywood. Great hotel. Very modern and clean. Reasonably priced for the area . This one is tucked away in a great location in North Hollywood, within short walking distance to all the great amenities NoHo has to offer. Would definitely recommend.
Great boutique style hotel. Modern rooms and decent prices for the area. I booked through booking.com for a small discount. Location is great, in the NoHo arts district, across from a park, near the metro, all the freeways and not far from universal studios. Parking was $10/night but there are plenty of spaces in the neighborhoods nearby if you don’t want to pay. There are signs for guest laundry but I was told there wasn’t any when I asked. Maybe it’s closed due to c19?? Wish there was laundry on site. There is a patio “bar” area that was nice to take food to if you want to avoid eating in your room even though the bar is closed right now. All-in-all, I’d come back for sure.
Hotel staff was VERY friendly and inviting! Felt very safe in parking lot and area. Gave four stars because of thin walls. Traveled with my two daughters and we always sleep with white noise however even with that we could hear other people coming in and out of their rooms and the people above us walking CONSTANTLY which kept me up until midnight our first night. Not as bad the second night. Also advertised as breakfast included on Booking.com which was one of the reasons I chose this hotel with my daughters... but there wasnt a breakfast. I have stayed at other hotels recently during this pandemic that have at least offered to-go items, but there is nothing here. Advertisement a little misleading but not the staffs fault.
This is one of the best hotels Ive stayed in and Ive stayed at a few. The room and its decor was gorgeous, the second floor patio/bar awesome for relaxing. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. One small gripe is the design of the shower--the tap and the drain are misplaced. But I absolutely recommend it. The gold standard for boutique hotels.
Alondra was the best !!!! (: she made the check-in super duper easy, she was very friendly and sweet, she took her time with everything and made sure she answered every question I had and made sure everything was great for the nights I was there. THANKS GIRLY(: !! Ill definitely be back just cause of her when I visit next time!!
Very nice hotel,. Everyone at desk was friendly and helpful,. Rooms are clean an bathrooms good size. There was a homeless band across the street which kept us up until 2:30 am,. This was not good. Desk said they have called police who do nothing. This was the only problem at Lexen.
We stayed for 3 nights, Sunday 6/27 - Wednesday 6/30/21. The place was clean and the fixtures and furniture were nice. The parking lot was a tight squeeze, especially for the area, but we were able to park in the garage every night, even when we got in at 3AM on Sunday night. I didnt like how there were no luggage carts, the door wasnt very sound proof and we were right by the elevator so we heard a lot of people walking by, the shower water pressure was really low, and there wasnt enough light. The room was pretty dark at night. The location is really convenient and if we are in the area again we would stay again.
We had an excellent stay for 4 nights at the Lexen North Hollywood. It was chic, well-maintained, and immaculately cleaned. The staff was extremely helpful with answering questions and were always friendly. The location is great with lots of nearby restaurants within walking distance. We felt very safe on our walks in the surrounding area.
This place was very cute and very clean. The staff at the front desk were super friendly. Too bad we are in the middle of a pandemic, it seems like they have cool accommodations too. The outdoor patio area looked very nice but I think it was closed due to COVID. The rooms were very updated and clean. Overall, will definitely stay again!
The staff at this hotel are the most kind, helpful, understanding people! I rented a number of rooms here for my wedding and had NO complaints! The penthouse is GORGEOUS and perfect for wedding morning preparation photos and the NoHo suite is perfect the groom’s pics! We were up and down, in and out of the room so many times and forgot our keys so many times and asked for a number of things soo many times, and the staff never complained or looked annoyed! They were extremely nice! I really wish I would have gotten the names of the two men who worked Memorial Day weekend. You guys are AMAZING! Thank you so much for being so helpful and helping my wedding weekend run smoothly!
Easy check in and comfortable rooms. Due to Covid measures the breakfast area was closed but coffee and juice was available at all times. The on site parking area is very convenient with a small daily charge. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Excellent stay thanks.
Fridge wasnt working the first night, was worried our milk would spoil, the front desk didnt really have more input than turning it off and on again. The overnight worker parked in the handicap stall on the night of oct 5, so none were left when we parked. Location was good though.
We stayed at the Lexen hotel last weekend. When we got to our room there was a do not disturb sign on the room. We called the front desk and the clerk assured us that there was no problem and just go in. We were unable to get into the room. As we were jiggling the doorknob a homeless man walks right out of our room and past us. We immediately called the front desk and the clerk came up. Initially he was going to just freshen up the room and we said no we want a new room which he did give us. I asked 3 times to speak with the manager and no response. The front desk person told us that weird stuff happens sometimes, like the last week when someone stole a safe. The irony of this is that our room had no safe so I guess this was our room. In addition, the thermostat LCD screen was completely unreadable and therefore we could not set a temperature. We were told, well if you are cold turn it up and if you are hot turn it down. The amazing thing is that there is a complete lack of concern. I even left a review with them when they asked how was your stay and again no response. The hotel is in a good location, but I am so so disappointed with the management.
ZERO STARSDO NOT STAY HERE! WORST SERVICE EVER RECEIVED.After my first night, I woke up to my room infested with ANTS! There were ants in my luggage and all on the floor. I immediately went downstairs to report it. The front desk worker stated they will come and check out the room and clean.I left my room for the day and returned at 11pm ish, there were ANTS EVERYWHERE. They cleaned and straighten the room but did not do anything to get rid of the ants.I went to the front desk to complain AGAIN and they kept stating there’s nothing they can do because of the time. There were ants in the bed.It was too late to book another room. The front desk agent offered to wave the fee for that night. We asked for another room and he stated they don’t have any rooms available because they are booked.I SLEPT IN MY CAR outside the hotel because I refuse to be in a space with bugs and I would never sleep in a dirty space! The next morning the manager did not want to talk to me. The front desk agent just told us to check out because pest control is coming. They did not waive any payments for the nights we paid for. Not once was I offered to change rooms. We called the other hotel location where the manager was working and he stated that they are giving us a new room and that’s the best they can do. The manager told us that we are already being accommodated for getting a new room. We should have been provided a CLEAN, BUG FREE room from the start!Non of the staff had any empathy or showed that they cared.DO NOT STAY HERE. It’s not worth wasting your money on a nasty place to stay with horrible customer service.Pretty sure if my room was infested with ants, other rooms had to have the same issue.I will be posting to all social media platforms. No one should ever stay here
Really enjoyed the ambiance of the hotel. Hotel staff was prompt and pleasant. Bummed breakfast wasnt available due to Covid restrictions but grateful complimentary coffee drinks were available 24hrs along w a microwave. My only complaint will be that although beautiful the shutters in our room let in far too much light in the morning.
Stayed in a two queen bed with three other adults - not a lot of extra room but manageable. Room was very clean and newish. No bath, but lovely big shower. Housekeeping was great and staff were very friendly and helpful. Super fast check-in and check-out. Included breakfast was very basic and would have liked a coffee machine in the room but no real issues there. Not a whole lot within walking distance but less than 10 minute car trip to Universal studios Hollywood. Would recommend it for its price/convenience combo
Our stay was during the pandemic, so our trip was a typical stay. The hotel was clean and our room was too. I like how the rooms don’t have carpet. The shower doesn’t have the greatest water pressure, but I sure there isn’t a way to fix that. I would definitely stay here again.
The hotel is beautiful and the staff is wonderful and friendly. But they seem a bit under staffed in housekeeping. We found a dog toy in the couch, gum wrappers in the closet, shower caps on the ceiling. But the sink was leaking and the showers had no pressure and they sent someone right to to come fix it, I was super thankful. The light started acting weird not wanting to turn off with the vent. Then it wouldnt turn on, but i didnt wanna keep bugging them for stuff so hopefully the next person will tell them. (Sorry).
Overall a cool hotel with a mix of great decor, art, and comfy bed for an affordable price! The staff was kind and helpful! The only thing we didn’t like, other than the beautiful patio being closed (not their fault!) is that it’s actually sort of like a motel style building, with the doors facing into an outdoor corridor. The walls were so thin, we heard EVERYTHING and kept waking up multiple times a night to cars starting their engines in the garage below us, someone screaming outside, other guests opening and closing their doors in the middle of the night (the doors slam pretty loudly) so if you stay here maybe consider some ear plugs!
I can honestly say we had a really nice stay. The rooms are clean and beds really comfortable. The bathroom and towels are really nice. We love the family friendly enviroment. We also had a good experience at the bar: good service, good conversation, drinks on point and excellent job from DJ our bartender. We will definitely coming back to this hotel!!!
This place is great! Room was very clean and nicely done decor. Deep soaking bath tub was a relaxing end to a busy day. Great shower and patio space. Comfortable beds. Kids loved it and the staff were cool to my kids. Well done all around. Breakfast is totally decent. No carpet in the room; floors are laminate which is huge plus to me!! We will def stay here again. :)
When choosing a hotel, my top two priorities are clean room and comfy beds. This was definitely one of the cleanest hotels Ive stayed in and the beds were good. The beds werent amazingly comfy but they werent uncomfortable either.Smelled so clean right when I walked in the lobby. The room was clean as well. Looked beautiful. Very pleased with the hotel and the price is pretty standard for California. Ive paid the same price for a sub par hotel plenty of times unknowingly of course when I booked it.I highly recommend the Lexen Hotel and I would definitely stay again!
Room was good size for two people. Beds were very comfortable and the bathroom was good size. Room smelled nice when we walked in. The only drawback was the shower was low pressure water. But it was still nice. Also, as a guest I feel the parking should be free. I would return
Needed a break from being in the house and booked myself a suite at the Lexen Hotel. Parking was easy and plentiful in the attached garage, and only $10/night. The room was huge, it was more like a 1br apartment with a den lol! The front desk person was wonderful when checking me in and even offered to share some of his food with me from the food truck out front :) so sweet! They also brought me up a wine opener when I needed one. I would absolutely stay again. It’s within walking distance to plenty in the NoHo arts district as well!4 stars instead of 5 because of the cleanliness in the room, namely the remote control - it was visibly dirty. During the pandemic, I expect things to be *extra* clean. There was also some sticky clear stuff on the nightstand and the white textured walls were dusty and could’ve used a fresh cleaning.Other than that it was just what I needed for a night away.
We stayed here for two nights during a trip to California, and out of the 5 hotels we had we enjoyed our stay here the best. First of all, the hotel is super new and all of the furnitures and decor were super modern (I wanted quite a few pieces for my own home). The bed was very comfy and the bathroom was clean & well-lit. Secondly, the front desk staff were all super friendly and actually smile at guests (such a rarity in this day and age). Last but not least, the breakfast area was spacious and bright with a TV, so quite a few families could fit there without feeling cramped. The coffee machine was also 24-hours. Overall, highly recommend anyone who is looking in this area.
I was very impressed as soon as we drove into the parking garage. There was a colorful hand painted mural and music playing. The vibe was different but great. Check in was fast and easy. The front desk staff was friendly. The place smelled great. Our room was very clean. Wooden shades instead of curtains. The phone had a wireless charging pad. The shower was amazing! Every aspect of this hotel we loved!
Loved this Place!!!! We were going to do an air B and B and decided on this hotel at the last minute thinking we just needed a place to crash since we were going to be out and about every day during our trip. I’m so glad we chose to stay at the Lexen. First off the place is immaculate! This is a beautiful hotel, which is quite evident upon entering the lobby and being greeted by the friendly reception staff. We had a room that was tastefully furnished that overlooked the patio/bar area. The bartender DJ was awesome! His awesome company, great conversation, and great cocktails in the late afternoon were a pleasant way to relax after a day of theme parks and touring. He really made us feel at home. The continental breakfast and 24 hour coffee was a great touch to getting something quick to eat and then go get our day started. The other staff members were also very attentive, cheerful, and helpful throughout our visit, and our room was cleaned to a pristine touch while we were out. My family and I will be staying here again and we will be referring them to all our friends that are going to do LA/ Hollywood scene!
Hotel is situated across from a large park. Seconds from the freeway. Rooms are decent sized and looks amazing! The room we stayed in (320) had 2 queens and a humongous bathroom!! Love the layout and amenities. Perfect for overnight stays. When everyone is up, you will here footsteps of people above you or below you. This is expected when you have guests with children. Hotel was very clean and very modern! Beds felt like foam mattresses, but I didnt tear them apart to verify.. they were very comfortable, even though I have a bad back. Hotel staff was very pleasant, and helpful!! I definitely will stay here if in the area!
Great hotel!!! Stayed for 3 nights, the front desk was extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel is real close to the highway and restaurants. Also, the Hotel smelled clean & fresh, the furniture was nice and comfortable. Plus the check in was fast & easy. The bathroom was amazing as well, fully stocked with all your toiletries. I would definitely stay again.
Nice Rooms, But does not provide good value for moneyWe stayed here 4 nights in early January, booked for $625 ($156 per night). The best part was the Excellent Room! This is a new property, and the room was the highlight of our stay. Comfortable, Spacious and up to date. Their is a open deck bar on 2nd level. However its mostly deserted. The parking is $10 per night, which is fair to some extent, although it should come with the room. The breakfast is a JOKE! some bread, no Eggs, jam and butter and they call it a Continental Breakfast. You will only eat breakfast at this property if you are downright trying to save money.
The beds are to soft. You sink to the floor. The furniture is to low. If you have bad knees youre in trouble. They ran out of linen. When you call the front desk to have someone to fix something theres a three hour wait and the hotel isnt that big. You ask the housekeepers for anything they say they dont speak English.
Very cute hotel! Room was modern and pretty. My only complaint was that they only have one roll away bed and it was being used during my entire stay so one person in our party had to sleep on the floor. The bar tender DJ was very friendly and accommodating, overall a really good stay.
The hotel itself is nice, very modern looking, fancy but the area is a bit run down and dirty. The rooms are also nice, nothing to complain about there, as well as the service. My only complaint is the parking. I paid for parking, left and came back to a full garage. They had offered to let me park my car next to a wall in the garage but I had to leave my keys at the desk which is personally not something Id like to do. I think that they should keep track of the amount of parkings they have and only give out that amount for the night and/or amount of nights the guest is staying.
Nice clean hotel.... decent parking in small garage for $10 a night. Polite front desk support. Continental breakfast was pretty sparse and the beds were a little to squishy. I’d like to have a better selection of teas, honey and alternative milk options. Only breads, no pastry (unless they were all gone by the time I got there) location is good for me and it had good dining options only a couple of blocks from hotel.
More like a Motel small rooms, no coffee/tea maker, thin walls you can hear all of the noise in other rooms, guests above my room were yelling and screaming all night, Uber doesnt pick up from the hotel, no shuttle, hotel dining/restaurant closed . Not recommended! Overpriced and overrated.
The location was great, staff friendly. The beds were very comfortable. Parking garage is very tight and not really meant for larger vehicles. Nice walk in showers but the sliding door doesn’t stay shut. The part that made it unpleasant was the guests who stayed in the room directly above us. We drove 24 hrs from Houston, Tx and were exhausted when we arrived. The stomping and running from the room above us went on til late night. Then started back up early morning. We complained the next day, but the same thing happened our second night. Actually it was worse the next night. I’m glad we weren’t staying a 3rd night since nothing was done about it.
This is probably the single-best hotel I have stayed in in a LONG time. It was spacious, comfortable, affordable - and so adorable. They facility was so clean and staff was excellent in describing limitations due to coronavirus as well as enforcing and maintaining social distancing and face coverings. I am Exceptionally pleased with this hotel and if I return to the area, I will, without hesitation, stay here again and recommend to anyone I know traveling to the area.
Our room was still getting cleaned when we got there. Upon request they upgraded us to a suite at no cost. Great customer service and Sangeeta was awesome in helping us out. The room was big and the washroom was clean and had nice amenities. The only issue was with the bed, the mattress was very soft and was getting depressed after a nights sleep.
Absolutely loved our stay here! The rooms are clean, comfortable and have everything you could need! The rooms even have charging cables for all phone types Incase you forget one, along with a cordless charger. The design/style of the entire room was amazing. We will definitely stay here again.
This Place, was More Amazing then I expected. Easy to get to. Parking was good. Near ARTS DISTRICT in NOHO. Very neat and organized. I loved the color scheme all over the building. They have a quiet patio on the second floor that looks very peaceful. A bar is there but due to Covid19 it was closed. The front desk staff was courteous, and cheerful and of great help. I would definitely be staying here again. Thank You for the awesome stay.
The staff was nice and rooms were clean but lacked some basics that I expect from much less expensive hotels. It seemed that style and fancy tech was chosen instead of convenience. Examples, the mini fridge had a posh clear door and claimed to be smart but as someone who travels a lot I can say it was literally a third of the room you get in a standard low-tech already tiny mini fridge. There is no computer for guests, no hot water for tea, no bathtub in a room that was nearly 200$ and you have to pay extra to park in the dedicated garage which is tiny and unsecure as we had someone approach us through the open walls and solicited us with lewd gestures with no security in sight. Again, staff was nice and room was clean, just these issues I think I would have stayed elsewhere.
Great and approachable service from all of staff. Very sleek and modern interior with a solid exterior. Easy parking structure. Only thing I would say is the continental breakfast be a little more then just bread and some bagels. Coffee machine was super cool too. All in all nice place to stay.
Not in a good neighborhood. My mom says she heard gunshots in the wee hours of the morning. I also wish the parking structure was more secure. The flooring they use in the rooms is very slippery so be careful if you don’t have good balance or elderly. The lobby was a little scuffed up (walls, floors, baseboards). The staff were very polite and helpful though. For the price $225 for a 2 queen bed plain room (no upgrades) I expected more. We stayed for a universal trip and would rather have paid the extra $30-$50 for a nicer hotel closer to universal and in a safer neighborhood.
Lovely little place to stay! Friendly staff and easy check in! The rooms are clean and spacious and the bathroom fully stocked. Perhaps a few bath sheets could be provided but that’s just a suggestion. Comfy beds and did I mention...the place smells divine! We will definitely stay there again when visiting NOHO!
Loved the hotel. Family booked 3 rooms. Hotel is clean and well appointed, near everything. Only comment would be the breakfast. Ate there 4 mornings and each time there was something that was not delivered. No yogurt or no fruit or no muffins. All were advertised are part of the breakfast.
It was ok. pandemic life, so limited services. only 3 stars because the room didn bt have the amenities advertised to us (jacuzzi), but that was the booking sites fault more-- the issue was we saw a small mouse, called the front desk, and they told us no manager on site and they would call me first thing in the morning, and didnt move us, offerand never called me back. bummer.
Overall, great experience! Decided to go to Universal Studios last minute so we quickly needed to book a hotel. Parking our vehicle was very easy and we were able to catch a Lyft easily to and from Unversal, which was minutes away. Customer service was exceptional, all the employees working at the front were so kind. They assisted me with printing out my tickets and storing my luggage was a breeze. Only thing Id strongly recommend is more options for breakfast and there were gaps in the flooring of the guest room we were at. Definitely would stay here again.
Sleek, ultra modern, squeaky clean hotel with oversized bathroom. Comfortable bed, clean white linens, well illuminated sink, and wonderful tub/shower.Just a couple blocks from the North Hollywood Redline Metro Station which connects to Universal Studios, Hollywood, DTLA, and Union Station.Open air deck & bar on 2nd level, but now closed due to Covid. Breakfast bar also shut down due to Covid. There is a charge for parking in a cozy garage which has about 26 spots. But metered street parking is available. Meters go into effect about 8 am (check the parking signs).Definitely worth considering if youre planning to visit North Hollywood.
We stayed here for two nights in May 2019, our experience was firmly set with the great check in from a young guy named Neel. The hotel itself is excellent, it’s almost brand new, and the decor is terrific, it’s decked out in quality equipment, and it was truly enjoyable as a result.Parking was easy and very convenient, the hotel charges $10 per night, which is far better than the rort’s in Vegas, and other parts of LA, this hotel did not charge resort fees, which was refreshing, they’re simply a rip off and in future, I’ll simply avoid hotels that rip you off by charging these fees. The Lexen hotel staff were very courteous and efficient, we could not be happier.
I really liked this hotel. Very clean and chic rooms. The Assistant Manager was very friendly. Only thing Id like to see is a normal size ironing board.... the one in my room barely went to my knees, so as a 6 3 guy it made for difficult ironing. Still 5 star stay though.
The beds are comfy, and the room is nice. I didnt like price I paid, but it was over labor day weekend. I also didnt like the breakfast, but it wasnt that bad. Just got bagels, toast, instant oatmeal, juice, and coffee. No water or milk. I dont get that. Also, no microwave in the room seemed odd to me. Everything else was great, add those couple of things and it wouldve been 5 stars. Maybe next time. I would come here again in the future.
We stayed in room 322, the Magnolia Suite. The suite has 2 full bathrooms, so you can spread your makeup etc all across the sink top since your guy can have the whole other bathroom for himself. Good channel variety on the tv. Active coffee pot in the lobby. The ice machine is on the 2nd floor. Our room had no coffee table but we used the white bench for that. If you need more reading lighting in the bed, move the floor lamp from the living room to the bedroom. Nice staff, all masked.
Family of four stayed one night in standard room. The hotel is new and modern. Room was what you would expect at the price point. Check-in was a breeze and friendly. Parking costs $10, but you could probably find some free street parking. Breakfast was OK. It was toast, bagels, muffins, oat meal, yogurt, apples, juice and a nice coffee/espresso machine. It would have been nice with some eggs or meats of some kind, but it was good for free. My only concern was the neighborhood, which is why I paid for parking to be inside the garage. The was a double shooting that closed the street down a block away from the hotel the night we were there. Not the hotels fault, but something to consider, but Id guess the entire area is susceptible to this type of incident.
Overall, the experience was great, the room was amazing. The size of the room was great and the amenities in the room were very nice. The staff was friendly and provided excellent customer service. The only drawback from the stay was the noise. Luckily, I was in a corner room, but I still heard street noise and I could hear the people staying above me as well. There was an event in the courtyard that was very loud as well.
We stayed here for 4 days for our vacation. All I can say we loved it. We got the preferred 2 queen beds. The room is really nice love the bathroom it has a tub and a shower and they even have a complimentary breakfast which is really great. The staffs are really nice I should have gotten their names. I definitely recommend this place. We had a great time. We would stay here again.
Very nice hotel. Room was clean and bright, with a fridge and safe. The beds were very comfortable and the staff helpful. Parking is tight, but that’s to be expected in LA. We left the car and Ubered to Universal Studios. Breakfast was sufficient. My only suggestion would be to offer cereal. Overall, I enjoyed my stay and would return in the future.
This hotel is awesome in a lot of ways. The beds are new and super comfy. The shower is awesome, because it has a button to turn on and off. The front desk is helpful. There is a fancy coffee/latte machine that is on 24/7.There are three slight issues. First, the free breakfast was basically nothing. Some cold bread and containers of yogurt. Second, the area is a bit sketchy. These werent worth docking a star though, because overall the experience was great. Third, the parking is difficult. You may have to be parked in a spot with someone behind you and have the front desk move their car.Still, overall its great. Id stay here again.
It’s a beautiful hotel with very professional workers. Loved the room and they have a bar on the second story. The continental breakfast was not what I expected coming from such a beautiful hotel. It was bread and juice that was offered. Very dissatisfied with that. But over all great place!!
Room was not ready by our check in time (manager said she could not do anything to off set that inconvenience), we had the so not disturb sign on door and staff still entered our room (manager said she would void the cost of parking during our stay), manager had a snobby attitude with my spouse , all staff just seemed “almost professional enough”.. location is ok for a quick drive to universal studios and Hollywood. But not in walking distance to much besides the crape shop next door (which did not have crapes 2/3 times we went there). Hotel was very pretty on the inside and seemed clean. Breakfast was a joke! Which was disappointing considering included breakfast was a factor I considered when booking hotel. Any 2 star chain hotel would have been an over all better stay than this place + most of them have a pool. Not worth the money. Would not recommend. Will not stay here again. I would recommend to save your money and stay at a 2 star hotel or put in a little more money and get a place better than this. The only good thing about this place was their industrial decor in the rooms.
We stayed here for my friends 30th birthday. We were very pleased with our stay. Clean rooms, helpful staff, Continental breakfast. They do have parking for $10 a day. The hotel is conveniently located near the highways. The hotel is a short drive from universal and walk the walk of Fame. There is a great outdoor seating area! We enjoyed sitting out here in the evenings.
The overall experience was good. The breakfast is very modest and simple. We had one issue with the Lexen Cafe. The front desk informed us that the cafe opens from 4 - 11 pm, when we called to place an order at 5, the bartender wasnt there yet so we decided to go out. Then we wanted to order at 10 but they told us the cafe was already closed since 9:30.
Very clean, great location. Only downfall is airport nearby but its not a busy one. Only plane that would bother us is the 7am one since we are night people. Complementary breakfast was yummy as well with Vegan options, not many but if you are hungry it works. Even tipped the maid the room was so clean.
Booked a Classic King which showed pictures of a walk in shower, turns out those are for accessible rooms only! Felt very misled about the room, ended up with a shower tub combo. Front desk was very apologetic, but clearly this needs to be updated. Modern furnishings, mini fridge, great vanity lighting, comfortable bed that helped spinal alignment. Breakfast is lacking and consists of just grains and fruit, no eggs or sausage etc
My 3 friends and I stayed here for 4 days. We had a great time. The rooms are super clean. The hotel is super cute and the staff is very friendly. They took the time to ask us about our days and went out of their way to make us feel welcomed. I definitely recommend it to all my friends and family. Its very close to Hollywood and Universal so its perfect for anyone whos main attractions are these two!
I’m standing in the hallway of this hotel at 11pm. I have been waiting for my room for HOURS. Initially the key I was provided unlocked a room that already was inhabited. Then after 2 more room changes I was told the room we were moving to was magically booked by someone else while we were in the process of getting into the room. (In the process meaning keys were already made and we were on the way up the elevator). This is not mentioning the hallways and elevators lack air conditioning. So, after our long trip we have been bouncing back and forth between rooms with no true final destination of rooms from management. Obviously organization, customer service and communication skills are clearly lacking from those working and managing this property. I will never be returning and regret making any type of reservation.UPDATE: after posting this review the hotel employees said as response to this review they would not be assisting us any further.
Location of the hotel is very close to a lot of eateries. 8-10 mins from universal studios. No pool, but a very beautiful lounge/bar area on the 2nd floor. $10 for parking in the garage per night. Highly recommend to park in the garage. Meter maids are out at night. Rooms are super clean and cute. Everything was up to date. The rooms are a bit compact. The staff are very helpful and professional. I would book at this hotel again.
One of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed in. Staff was amazing. Room was clean and spacious. Didn’t smell odd like most hotels.I will DEFINITELY be staying here on my next overnight trip to LA.The bartender at the outdoor bar was so fun! Thanks Dj!Seriously. I love this place. I’ve never rated a hotel before and this one deserves to be recognized.
We had an amazing stay! The Noho Suite is what we booked for 4 nights and we will definitely be back! Cant picture staying anywhere else in Los Angeles. Close to Hollywood. Super clean. Coffee is always available. Simple breakfast in the morning was good enough for us! Cute chocolate and coffee shop next door. Quiet location. Beautiful decor (the design was our favorite part of the hotel). Would give 10/10 if we could!
We had to checkout early because of the earthquake on 7-5-2019 and they were so understanding and accommodating. They refunded our second night which we paid for in cash. Will absolutely stay here again it is a beautiful property. Only wish we could have stayed and done Universal Studios which was our original plan. Thanks for everything!
Best hotel I’ve stayed at. Friendly staff, beautiful outdoor patio, and amazing decor in the public areas and in the rooms.Extremely clean hotel. Seems like management, front desk and the housekeeping staff are all on the same page and work very well together.I highly recommend this hotel and will definitely be staying here again!
Small but very Nice property in North HollywoodPerfect locationFriendly staff from front desk Mina and Anzar, to housekeeping.I would definitely return back for a stay but with a room on the top floor. We had the 3 rd floor and our second night there the person above us was very inconsiderate by stopping there feet, throwing down luggage and slamming drawers.I mean it’s common sense you have someone below you. They wouldn’t like it if it was the other way around. So just keep that in mind 😉Yes we could have moved but not worth the hassleThank you Lexen for such a clean property and perfect location to the an excellent chocolate and coffee shop Chokolatta
This hotel was an excellent find since I happened to need a hotel in the area. Parking is $10 and they give a complementary light breakfast. Cappuccino machine is free and available all day long. Loved the room decor and look. Will definetly stay at a Lexen again. Parking lot is small and was full but staff told me just park in a corner and leave the key with them.
Clean, well maintained, most people who work there are nice, friendly, and polite. Except one person at the front desk when we arrived. We didnt expect to check-in. We knew that we were early (2 pm). We just wanted to leave the luggage and go out. She immedately gave us the attitude about we werer being early check-in without listen at our request. In the evening, we went back to check-in. We had a very pleasant experince with the young man. He greeted us. He was polite and happy to meet new guests. I enjoyed using the facilities, gym was a good size, nice and clean. Open courtyard a night was lovely as well. Overall wed consider this place for future stays.
Super nice little boutique style hotel! I attended a social/professional get together here, so I didnt get to view the rooms, but based on the event and the vibe of the hotel, Id check this place out to stay in the next time Im in NoHo. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The hotel grounds were artsy and welcoming. The decor was fresh and engaging. Dont stay at a cookie cutter hotel, stay here where your senses are engaged and you have a great time!
Booked from UK as we are on a Californian road trip, the hotel has not disappointed, very clean, great facilities, lovely chap on the desk (very helpful and smiley). The room is very comfortable, great shower and very comfortable bed - the location is also brilliant to explore LA! Thanks guys! 😃
We had a great stay at Lexen Hotel North Hollywood. The room was very clean and cozy. The breakfast was pleasant. At checkin on April 18,2019 front desk was very professional . On checkout April 21,2019 front desk staff was so nice, helpful and professional.. i will stay again when visiting LA
Had a very bad experience with this hotel. The best thing about this hotel is the location. Nearby park, farm to market on Saturdays, nice diner around the corner, 5-10 miles from sunset. Now the bad, me and my wife get to hotel and our room gets flooded due to weather (which I understand weather related) Assistant manager states She could put us in the next available room for same size. We get to the room and it’s half the size. So she then says we can put us in the original room but it will take 45 mins to clean. She gives us a 10% discount off room but when we get to room it’s still dirty and damp on rug. Discount she gave us didn’t help since we had to pay for parking in a really tight garage. The walls are really thin. Hotel is close by a fire department so you hear and see sirens all thru the night. Housekeeping didn’t properly clean the room when we left to tour The city. Came back to stained sheets and a few dirty towels. Breakfast was lacking. Just not worth the money. Maybe we caught them at a bad time but not a good impression for me to do business with them again. This was a disappointing visit for a nice vacation.
I was there for one night. Attended a local concert nearby. The best decision ever. When we returned, we had a drink at the outside bar. The bartender was amazing and made the most delicious margarita. Couldn’t t ask for a better evening. The suite was perfect !! I am definitely returning. 😊❤️
I’ll rate this about 3.5 maybe 4. Very clean hotel, newly built; however, it does have its flaws. There’s no hooks to hang towels on, there is 1 hook I guess, but it’s on the most random place in the bathroom so you can’t even step out of the shower to get it, the rest of us had to hang the towels over the closet and chair. The ice machine is only one the 2nd floor of 4 and it was not even installed, just water pipes in the wall, this hotels has been open for business for over a month now. Parking is very limited, I think I counted less than 20 spots. I asked if they cut the numbers of cars they charge for once the lot is full and she said no. She said, “we let you park wherever you can, blocking people in so you’re in the parking garage; however you need to leave your car keys with us at the front desk so we can move your car when someone needs to get in or leave....are you kidding?!?! I asked who’s fault is it if the car gets damaged during this and she said they are not liable. She did offer metered parking on the street, but again, i pay for the $10 garage fee. There’s a very large courtyard that would accommodate a pool very well, but instead it’s a wooden deck with pool chairs. The area is okay, it’s across the street from a large city park, but there no play grounds and homeless people are camped out there. It’s across the street from the fire department so I head seirens all night. The courtyard is in the middle with all the doors facing into the courtyard; this making it echo into the rooms. I didn’t hear my neighbors...if I had any, not sure because they are sold out of rooms but I have yet to see anyone and they are still putting stuff together. Now, the positive. The rooms are nice and the staff is friendly and accommodating. It’s within walking distance of the metro train station, food and a grocery store. Good hotel, odd they opened before actually being ready and not happy able the parking situation since they offer parking. We did park our car in a stall and took metro everywhere, but still odd.
FANTASTIC great deco in the rooms all high end items from the couch, refrigerator, safe box etc. All done with good taste and class. We are coming back on February 2020. Location near by Dinning venues and entertainment. Also friendly and courteous service @ front desk etc.
Needed a hotel that was close to Panorama City, clean, and budget friendly and Lexen fit the bill. Definitely a cute boutique spot and everything went smoothly including checkin, parking ($10 per night - definitely preferred this then on the metered Street.)I liked the rooftop ish bar area in the middle of the courtyard with big TVs. Altho we didn’t use.All the toiletries you need which is always appreciated like makeup remover, vanity, shower cap, etc.Cold water in the lobby... and basic continental breakfast with bagels, yogurt, etc.
Impromptu stay and I needed a place close. Very impressed with the service during the current lockdown. The staff was very helpful with providing knowledge of the area and what I could or could not do in the are. The facility was clean and the room was grea . I would recommend them to anyone visiting the are .
We loved this place! First and foremost, the staff was absolutely amazing! Super friendly and helpful. Walking nearby, we noticed a nice selection of various dining options. The bar here has a great vibe. I liked the fact that it was a short drive to universal studios. When in the LA area again, this is my top choice. Thank you to all staff/mgmt we encountered during our stay.
The hotel and rooms are nice, but the parking situation and breakfast arent great. Only having about a dozen spots of which are pretty tight make it difficult. When the spots are full staff has to move cars around to accommodate others. The breakfast consists of toast, bagels, muffins, and beverages.
After having such a challenging and long day, hotwire booked me and my traveling mates a room in this beautiful hotel in SoHo. We walked in pleasantly surprised with modern, trendy decor and the staff members were super friendly and helpful.Tip: Please remember when you book a hotel theres always an authorization of $100 or more. This location does $150 to $250, but youll get it back.
Tried to work out a rate that was fair with front desk manager Anzor he let me know their hotel was a small family-owned Hotel and were not able to reduce the prices like other large Monopoly like Hilton Marriott or Super 8 we like their Motel very clean not the best location the close to where we are working apparently they dont want our business I was only asking for the same rate this available on Priceline heres what I emailed back in responseWell I thought I did understand was trying to help the smaller locally owned company with my business rather than the large corporation but apparently you have no problem selling all your rooms out on Thursday nights throughout the year I was offering you over 100 rooms a year I thought that was worth something as I am also a very small company three people working here and my large corporation is not paying for the room either was just one little guy trying to help out another little guy but my apologies my misunderstanding Ill continue to work with the large corporations so I dont agree with their corporate views or monopolies but you leave me no choice I have to do whats best for my company during these trying timesBut thank you for your consideration and helpfulness
Let me start by stating that this review is for the management and their policies, not the hotel itself. I was going to be passing through L.A. and booked one room for one night at the Lexen through Expedia. Unfortunately for me, I used the autofill to enter my info and ended up making a reservation for the day before I arrived. I noticed the error that same night and tried to change my reservation but they were completely booked for the night I was going to be in town. I called the Lexen directly but was unable to get a hold of someone. Expedia called on my behalf but they said the front desk staff said the issue would have to wait until the following morning when the manager arrived. When I arrived in L.A., (I ended up staying at the BLVD and highly recommend it!) I took the time to go personally to the Lexen but the front desk employee told me the same thing: it was a matter for a manager but she was not on the premises, so they asked me to return hours later. Long story short, I was never able to talk to a manager until days later over the phone (I had already left L.A.) and after my many attempts at talking to an administrator, I was told the policy of the hotel was simply NO refunds. I understand it was my mistake and the policy is clear on their website. My review has the purpose of warning those who are considering booking at this hotel in the future: THEIR BOTTOM LINE IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN YOUR SATISFACTION. Despite the fact that the hotel doesnt seem to be wanting for guests (they were completely booked), they had no interest in making any service recovery efforts, even for an honest mistake. I have dealt with businesses before where they happily refund money for services that were not provided, even if they have a policy of no refunds because they acknowledge that everyone makes mistakes and more importantly, they understand that in the service/hospitality industry customer retention through service recovery is essential. The management at Lexen was more interested in keeping my money, even one room for one nights worth, than in establishing a good reputation.
I loved it. The room was amazing kinda like a cube. Extremely spacious. Beds were very comfortable. Lots of natural lighting maybe a little too much but the panoramic view is nice.Edit: was there this weekend and I believe I stayed in the NoHo Suite and WOW now thats CHIC!
Wenhave stayed twice at the Lexen Hotel in North Hollywood and have enjoyed both times. Its about a 15 minute drive to downtown LA, but its far enough that the area is less dense and more quiet at night. There are lots of very good restaurants within walking distance and a very shirt deive to Universal studios. Staff is friendly and really really helpful. I gave it only four stsrts because despite of the continental breakfast being included, its only served until 9:30am, even on weekends and Ive never been able to try it.

2022-03-17Ami at the front desk was so friendly and accommodating!!The hotel met my expectations with rooms and service. And the parking garage was so convenient. If I were to make a suggestion to change anything it would be to muffle the air/heaters and get a different brand of sheets. Not sure what blend they were but felt scratchy and very synthetic.Other than that I really enjoyed my stay and would 100% go back and recommend to people!! Thanks Lexen for the accommodations!!

2022-06-02For the price this place was great. Clean, newish, nice convenient area. Great coffee shop a block away (groundwork). Lacking some amenities but if you need a good crash pad thats clean, this is a good pick. I had the kind deluxe with balcony, which was very spacious and facing the sunrise. Happy camper.

2022-02-27Stayed in the Lexon Suite with my family of four. 12 yr old, 9 yr old & very tall husband. Three spaces equipped to sleep four comfortably & semi private. King bed, twin, long twin sized couch. Two showers in large bathroom. Very roomy and great value for clean comfortable space. Cleanest hotel I have been in. You can tell Owner & staff take pride in cleanliness/sanitizing. Gym was perfect for four active people. We even extended our stay one night! Will definitely be back.

2022-04-16Great room and losts of space, the restroom was huge and spotless! The place was overall SUPER CLEAN and quiet! I love how close it is from Universal Studios. One thing though I think our bed wasnt leveled right but it was still very comfortable. Great place to stay! Will be staying there again definitely.

2022-04-22The location was ideal to the Art District and within walking distance of public transportation and a public library. The desk clerks were semi-helpful. House keeping was friendly and helpful. Parking on the property is extra. I would not trust parking on the street. I do not feel as if I received my moneys worth but would consider returning if necessary 🤔.

2022-06-19This is a very cool hotel. The rooms were spacious, clean, and modern. The beds were comfortable and the shower in the spacious bathroom was fantastic. The only issue I had was that the bar was closed but the seating area by the bar had a nice, relaxing, vibe.

2022-04-11My wife and I had stayed here for two nights for universal studios and the clippers basketball game. The location is in the noho arts district. The area is cleaner than anywhere I’ve stayed in LA! Tried 3 restaurants around noho and all of them were great! We also stumbled across a little vegan food event that was a 2 minute walk from the hotel it’s open every Sunday. The rooms were very detailed. We even walked in on someone double checking the cleanliness. The shower drain was even custom engraved and the shower was very updated. I will definitely be staying again.

2022-06-25If youre traveling with family and kids, think twice before booking any room in this hotel. This hotel may be in a good location, but definitely Not a safe neighborhood. The hotel knows that since they locked the hotel door at night. There were lots of homelesses who talk loud and yell at you if they get close to you. I had to grab something from our car which was parked at the hotel parking lot and was scared to death when a homeless approached me from back and started talking loud. When we enter our suit, I noticed there was only 1 queen bed (I was sure I booked 2 queen beds)and a locked door inside the suite. At first, I thought I made a mistake with our booking, but I called the front desk to check it out. Surprisingly, the front desk lady said she forgot to activate the card key, so that we can open the other room where the second bed was. If I never called them, no one would have bothered to tell us about it. There was no microwave; Only a small cooler and a coffee machine! Also, be prepared to pay for the parking! Only good thing about the suit was cleaniness.

2022-06-05Comfy beds, great location to attractions, clean, nice common area. Friendly staff at front desk and cleaners alike.Note to the owner: I hope you know what an asset the young cleaner (thats bilingual with long hair, sorry I didnt catch her name) is to your hotel. She is conscience, courteous and eager to help all guests with enthusiasm.

2022-04-25Booked here just one day in advance due to a last minute change of plans. It came up as a cheaper option on priceline that was close to the Metro. I was pleasantly surprised how chic this place was! Very well-appointed room, especially the bathroom. Its only about two blocks from North Hollywood Station. I will consider staying here again on future visits to LA.Do note that amenities are rather limited, but I was just here for a place to sleep, so I didnt need much.
