Brought my son to this place to have some of his old Pokemon cards checked out and possibly appraised. The attendant was very helpful and she even told my where he could do his research and what to look for on the cards in terms of possible value. Super helpful and very transparent by telling us their fees on appraisals and potential purchases as well. I greatly appreciate her help and advice given to my son. The place is very neat, nice, and has tons of collectibles.
I hate to say but this is the best nerd chain (really the only one) in the bay. The owner, who works at Eastridge, is very forward thinking and knows what to stock and sell with the trends. The prices here are for the most part online competitive and they really dont scalp their MTG... most of the time. Wish they still sold more off the cluff old stock comics, but in these parts of Cali we are just fortunate these stores still exist.
Good store. Good people. Just disappointed with pokemon cards I bought here. They seem to be tampered with. Packs had cards all over the place. Some cards was upside down. Some had extra cards inside them. These were hatterene v box. Just be careful when purchasing cards from this place.
One of our favorite Card shops!😁We live bout an hour away an totally don’t mind making the trip. The staff is the best, super friendly will sit there an chop it up with you. They also buy cards an give you a fair price. We go for Pokémon cards but they have ALL types of cards. Pokémon, yu-go-oh, magic, a lil sports, dragon ball Z, an a bunch more. They have action figures, funko’s, card sleeves, binders, boxes, tons of comics an board games. There’s so much more that I haven’t listed just have to go take a look yourself 🤗
Very honest buyer! He was very transparent with what he would buy my items for and what he was going to sell them for. I would go here first if you were interested in selling your toy inventory. I had been a customer here for years prior to selling. I love just searching through the inventory that changes all the time. Thank you Legends!
I had a alright experience when I went to buy some booster packs some dude named Tim or Tom he was pretty coo I was with my nephew and after buying the limit of booster packs I ran into a women works there and had a rude experience with that women not much of a friendly experience much in this shop would high suggest going to oakridge Store instead I always have a nice experience and very helpful service at that mall for Legends shop especially the new store they occupy now very nice and looks promising :) I’m just one person but atleast I know not to show up at eastrige legends %100
We get our Halloween mini-comic bundles here to give to the kiddos classes at school. They have a good stock which does not require us to order in advance since the pre-orders are very early. Friendly service. We will keep coming back. The kids love the comics so its a great non-candy treat and of course, encourages the kids to read! The owner is great and happy to help.
Bought my son 2 tag team tins they were resealed pokemon tins you can find on Amazon for 3 for 100. They had all the wrong sets inside it was 1 base set sun and moon 1 sun and moon burning shadows 1 sun and moon crimson invasion and 1 xy steam siege. All tampered with packs didnt recieve a single holo and also got a few Darkness Ablaze packs with one obvious tampered with had a white card and didnt have a holo rare inside at all. Before opening any of the pack I called to verify the packs inside and after was told they couldnt issue a refund. Very disappointed wont be shopping here again.
I had traded 9 of my championship path elite trainer box 2 months ago. I tried to pick up my shining fate which they told me someone took them. Please next time contact the person by phone and email to let them know when to pick up. I had given my phone number and ID to be specific Driver license. I never gotten a call or an email. No notification on when they will come out. They said someone took my pre order which was more than $500 dollars. They did not care or even look at the video of the recording who stole my pre orders.
This place was awesome! Swept in without another thought, it looked so inviting! My husband and I spent about an hour in there. A game night was happening at the time so it was a bit crowded but I go the feeling it usually is. Its fairly big for a store of its sorts. Has tons of games and comic books/manga. Also has some merchandise for various popular shows. They sell MTG and Pokemon cards which I loved. Got me a couple Ive been looking for. The staff were extremely knowledgeable and friendly. I will definitely be back for Friday night Magic! ❤️
The name is accurate, lots of comics and games.Game selection has a healthy lean towards Wizards of the Coast and Games Workshop merchandise. Though they don’t necessarily skimp on other brands, even if their selection is smaller on these other brands. What you see is what they have, so if it’s not on their shelves chances are they don’t have it in stock. Though they are always willing to special order you the item you want, and are always very attentive in informing you when it arrives.Sales are fairly frequent and their staff are very enthusiastic.Parking lot is a little hectic due to other stores, and client base can get loud sometimes.
Im glad we finally have a comic book store in this area. Up until now, we didnt have a comic book store anywhere near here. Wish they would carry more old school stuff and more Stranger Things items, but other then that, they have some cool stuff. Employees are super friendly and helpful. I try to buy something everytime I go in the store to try to keep them here and to give them business.
Great Store and good people running it. They have a huge selection of RPG gaming systems. Every time I go in there are people playing Magic The Gathering, D&D, Warhammer or other systems. The way I see it is buy from the stores you want to see stick around. Even when I dont really need anything I go in and buy dice or a game module because I want this store to be there for a long time.
I have changed my rating based on my further business with the owner. I sold him a grip of cards for a reasonable price. He had an excuse for every missed call or every drop in communication. He paid in 3 instalments, every payment was late. I had to contact him for the last two after being a week late. He had excuses for everything. His last one was Oh, I changed phones and lost your number. I truly believe had I not hounded him my payment he would have stopped paying and just taken my cards. I am sure his shop is just fine, but I would avoid doing personal business.
Its a good business with a large variety of comics and games. I will have to say that they have a real low and tight pay out for the BUYs. They only purchase cards that hold a value of $5 or more. Plus depending on the time and how many staff working.....they may rush through your BUY and alot of the workers dont know a whole lot about the cards info and description or value .Overall good store just needs some better management skills and some classes to educate the employees.
Great owner and staff. An amazing selection of comic related merchandise and at really reasonable prices even for things that are now hard to find! Owner gave me 10% off because I was waiting of my OWN choice to see if their internet would come back up just so I could use my credit card. Nothing but good things to say about this place.
On one hand they gave me a free pack for just coming into the store to play magic. On the other they refused to allow me to take my backpack into the store despite me offering to leave my ID at the counter since I had thousands of dollars worth of cards in it (3 Legacy Decks). I ended up having to just carry everything around. Will not be coming back.Edit after reply: Hence why I offered to leave my ID at the counter and offered to let them check my bag prior to leaving. If you staff is not going to take liability for ~4,000$ of my belongings there is no way Ill leave it with anyone but myself.
Awhile back I gave a good review for their previous location in Santa Clara. I liked that place a lot and I’d always stop by when I was in town. When things were closing down I started noticing that the staff were becoming ruder and short with people. Never to me personally but I witnessed them do it to people asking simple questions about products or what’s in stock. The first one I witnessed was with a special needs kid asking about cards or something. The owner was incredibly rude to him, really soured my visits from then on. I went to the new location with my girlfriend, she mistakenly stumbled in an area that wasn’t finished and an employee yelled at her, then he started being sarcastic to some guy who was asking what happened to the Barnes &Noble that was previously there. Again, they’ve always been nice to me but watching them deal with others really soured my experience being there. So I’m done with this place... I sincerely hope they learn some descent customer service, cause other than that it’s a great place
If you need a comic book fix, this place is it. They have a wide array of board games and plenty of space to play those games or other games that you bring. Theyre collection of statues and toys are very limited. And the space theyre occupying doesnt fit the atmosphere, but its only a temporary space until they move into their regular location within the mall. Did I mention its in the mall which has movies, arcades, and now comics? Its a nerd dream come true!
One of the last cool Legends Comics & Games. This place has been around forever and Ive seen so many celebrates here its nuts. Too bad places like this are closing down because of on-line book stores and eBooks. I like paper book and the smell of paper books and always will.Come check it out! By the way, Sunset & Vine is a terrific book. Im coming for the signing.
Lots of potential in this store! The selection is great! The staff was okay. Not fantastic but not nearly as bad as anime 101. Not sure how i feel about the policy of hey i kmow youve been playing for 20 minutes and obviously havent stolen anything but its store policy to hold your backpack. Being that it is in a mall, and in a big city, i totally get it. I just hope that doesnt spread to other stores.
Selection: 5I LOVE THIS PLACE! Ive always found the D&D books, Magic packs and accoutrements, and board games that I wanted at Legends. If they are out of stock for something, they order it. This place isnt just a one-store thing. The last time I came here, they had three storefronts in one area. One was strictly dedicated to board games, another to comic books, and another to tabletop gaming. Nerd heaven.Service: 2-5I usually get decent service here, where someone will help me find what Im looking for. Ive also gotten fantastic service, where someone went out of their way to sign me up for a Magic DCI number on their own computer. Ive also had meh-to-poor service here, maybe once when they were really busy with a tournament.
It was really good. The workers made it a wonderful experience answer all of my questions. The store is inside the mall go in where by 24 fitness is at . If you go most of the prices are firm. You cant really negotiate the prices down. Well go and enjoy your time there have fun..
Went in this store yesterday with my wife. This store used to be in Vallco Shopping Mall in Cupertino, Ca. The same owner was sitting behind the register at this store. The owner had made a reputation for being an arrogant, pompous, egotistical jackass and guess what...? He hasnt changed a bit. I asked him if he had any plastic model kits as the size of this new store might hold them and his response was ...Warhammer and some Gundam. The way he stated this was asinine. He could have answered with a nicer response. The owner lacks customer service skills and is a lazy self-entitled jackass. He had no interest in selling anything he had nor asked me what my interests were. I told him I would NOT be coming back. Not recommended and avoid at all costs.
Full disclaimer: this review is based entirely on my first visit today, and the store is still transitioning to a new location, so it is quite likely to improve at some point in the future. If I happen to stumble back in and they change my mind, I will update my review accordingly. The store as it currently exists in Eastridge Mall is NOT AT ALL like the location in the pictures. While the floor space is quite large, much of it is currently blocked off for remodeling, and the space in use seems very poorly allocated. The retail section is extremely small, while they have massive unused counters, shelves, and display tables scattered about. When it comes to the games they have for sale, they seem to carry an unnecessarily huge quantity of copies of the same few games. A number of games had 4 or 5 copies lined up side to side (not even front to back), making the already small retail area seem smaller. They also had a ridiculous number of expansions for games that they dont even sell. Theres even a disturbing lack of small, casual, and mainstream games. Its not that they dont have any, but there are some very obviously missing titles. That brings me to my next point, which is that there seems to be a number of contradictions in how this store caters to different audiences. Being located in a major mall with general shoppers, they obviously need to be prepared to handle a lot of foot traffic. Not only do they not stock many casual games for the occasional sale to those people, but they blocked off the restroom and water fountains so they dont hang out any longer than they need to. Back when it was Barnes & Noble, they had one of the cleanest restrooms and best water fountains in the entire mall. I understand not having demo games in the mall, but why even have the gaming tables at all then? At least if they had snacks for sale like every other gaming store (the B&N even had a cafe), I might buy some and hang out. But they have signs posted all over explicitly prohibiting food and drink. So basically, if youre a non-gamer, they have nothing for you, and if youre a gamer, they have a really inferior experience for you. I dont get who their target audience is.And finally, I think its worth mentioning that even if none of previous points affect you, I still think the major killer of this store will not be online shopping, but other local stores. While there arent really any other hobby game stores in the immediate vicinity, there are several within a reasonable driving distance throughout the Bay Area. This is the only one I have encountered so far which doesnt have a way of checking whats in stock from their web site. Also, I called numerous stores looking for a game a few weeks ago, and although I didnt expect this level of service at all, all of the ones nearby stocked the game within a few days without me even requesting a special order... except this one. The other stores all have very clear schedules of events posted in store and online, while this one seems to hide that information. Really, this store doesnt do anything to make me care if its business suffers during this transition. It just exists in a really mediocre state. Meanwhile, all the other local stores have done everything possible to grow and succeed. This is an okay store to have in the mall so you can stop by and see what they have if you happen to be in the area. But this store is currently not worthy of being a destination for gamer. If you have another store within reasonable driving distance, youre probably better off going there instead.
Ok, a bit ago I was at a place that was legendary but recently just came back! Everything I asked was non existent. A wizard guide to price I was told doesnt exist Id have to just see online. This place I came in I found display cases, comic protective display items, and as I waited my turn and asked the young man at answer all my questions to which customer service. Sometimes thats the difference. I was dismissed after 3 appts at that other place and pretty much overlooked! What did I have the launch of image as Frank Miller and Jim Lee leaves DC and marvel the gen 13 numbers 1/2 to 6, firsts appearances of Gambit, bishop, and duh oarorow monroe aka storm ! So far this place has the knowelge and customer respect even if I dont sell to them I now know where and what has thr price guide and what previews are rather than be laughed at. It was a great place
Was excited to see a Legends Comics in the area. The one that closed down in Cupertino was the best and the location in Santa Clara is really nice as well. But this one... Lack of interesting material, rude management, slightly overpriced, etc. Will go out of my way and visit the Santa Clara location on El Camino.
Was harassed by one employee while looking through book selection. Then harassed by another employee for having a bag. Neither employee asked if I needed any help looking for anything. Felt completely unwelcome in their store. Basically harrsased until I left their store. Will not return.
So shocked at what I saw here today. I was shopping with my boyfriend when I heard a really big, threatening voice from one of the employees at a LITTLE hispanic girl who couldnt have been more then 12 or 13 telling her to HAND over her tiny unicorn backpack if she wanted to stay in the store. Are you serious ?? I was so shocked I didnt even know what to say. Her mom and dad werent around and she was with what looked to be her brother who didnt seem very much older then her. She seemed shocked too, like his voice was so loud and embarrassing and threatening !UM excuse me ?? You cannot be taking away little girls bags, are you serious ? He 100% was going to take away this girls little teensy baby unicorn backpack. If I was her parent Id be furious. They werent even NEAR any merchandise! Absolutely INAPPROPRIATE, I was so shocked I couldnt even react!!Its a big space with a lot of junk honestly and the employees treat everyone (my bf and I included!!) like a potential thief instead of a customer. SO TURNED OFF.
Super rude employee when I went there at their Eastridge Mall location.Whoever he was wasnt even wearing a name tag.He was near shouting to a customer for pulling their card out too early when he was buying something, which was ridiculous and very unprofessional conduct. There is a second employe who is tall with white hair and glasses who is much nicer than whoever the employee was.

2022-08-05By far the best game store Ive been to in the bay area!! Massive stock of collectibles, and very friendly staff that were knowledgeable about the MTG products. Cant recommend this place enough

2022-08-09Honestly last time I was here the employees treated me pretty terrible. They said you couldnt stand around and read the comics, only skim through them... LIKE what the hell is the POINT of a COMIC BOOK store if you cant EVEN READ COMICS??!They said it was the owners (policy) but I dont really care about that, it just invalidates the point of a comic book store really... also all the cards and deckboxes and sleeves are all overpriced. The store is closed for most events and smaller then other legend stores so they cant host large events or even offer tables to play at regularly....

2022-07-14They dont overcharge USUALLY unless something pokemon related can be resold for a higher value than the gamestop upstairs has it for. Also have an excuse everytime for why they dont want to buy your cards. Not because theyre worthless or anything its just that the employees who dont see the money just dont like work.

2022-08-29This is really more of a table, board, and card game store. LOTS of games! As for comics, this store was severely lacking anything other than new comics. No back stock could be found. But, its in a large mall and back stock comics arent what sells or pays the rent.

2021-07-15Selection is good but dont have the one we want. Customer service focus is off. Crew is more focus chase down customer without face cover instead serving customer needed. Would be better if just have 1 focuse on face mask at door before customer even come in. So customer in store will have the service required

2022-03-15Had some good stuff, but when I bought some of the Yu-Gi-Oh cards, the two cards I bought were super overpriced. One of the cards I bought they sold to me for $22, when it was worth only like $5 at most. I understand that you have to mark up stuff sometimes to make a profit, but that was way too high for the cards value.

2017-08-03Have been going here since I was a kid and this store was located at Valco mall. Great people and large selection of comics, manga, card games, collectables and board games. Prices are fair and the staff is knowledgeable and dont push for a sale. Parking is easy and its never too busy. Food and drink friendly. Open until midnight!

2022-06-14Friendly staff, unfriendly policy. They told me that I was not allowed to read the manga on the shelf and only skim them. What is the point of having books avaliable if youre not allowed to read them?Eta: they dont have signs that dictate this policy
