We had a great stand-up paddleboarding experience in La Jolla Cove! Alex helped us choose a calm day and a good time to head out. He made the equipment pickup super easy and offered helpful tips. We saw lots of leopard sharks and a guitar fish! Definitely recommend going earlier in the day (we went from 10 am to 12 pm) and, if its a little chilly, to splurge on a wetsuit rental.
We had such a wonderful experience! Would 10/10 recommend to anyone looking for paddleboard and snorkel rentals. Call these folks if you want an honest business and a fun time!Also, they come to you so call a bit in advance. I called the morning of and was able to get rentals the same afternoon!
Me and a group of my coworkers went to clean up ski beach for earth day so we reached out to alex and hanh they were so willing to help us out! They were supportive, cooperative and understanding through the struggle of planning everything. Their equipment was well maintained and they helped guide us through everything on how to use a paddle board! (It was personally my first time) they look out for your safety as well they will let you know whether they think it is a safe time to use the gear you rent from them or not! Honestly great people I stuck gold by going through them!! You HAVE to give them a shot. The whole experience was amazing!
These dudes were hospitable, friendly, experts in what their fields, and pretty funny. The gear was in excellent condition and very affordable. They also informed us about different areas to snorkel and the wildlife we may encounter in those areas. Customer service was above and beyond. Would 100% recommend to anyone interested in exploring La Jollas shallows. Great business.
I called the day before we arrived in the san Diego area, to ask questions, Alex was super nice and helpful. We decided to call again before heading out to make sure weather condition were ok to snorkel and he gave us clear directions and told us not to hesitate to call. I think he runs this business with his partner and they were both amazing when we arrived, getting us fitted with all the gear we would need. Also storing all our personal items. Once we were suited up they took a picture with a view for us.Long story short, I dont think I am an ocean person, I was in the water about 20 minutes max, got wrecked by a wave getting out of the water and busted my finger and was bleeding all over. On top of that I got extremely nauseated and sea sick . When we arrived back, I explained that I was sick and they even had motion sickness medication for me! Theyve literally thought of everything to take care of their guests.They both kept apologizing even though it was a completely personal problem. After walking away Alex came up to us and even refunded some of our money because he felt bad that I had such a rough time. I can not say enough good things about these two. If you want to be taken care of with everything you need for a days worth of snorkeling this definitely the company you should go through!!
Absolutely the best experience! These guys had everything I needed to make my vacation the best it could be. Alex and Hanh were super kind and inviting and very knowledgeable about the area. Their prices were extremely reasonable! I will definitely visit them next time Im in San Diego.

These folks made it such an easy and enjoyable experience to get in the water. They gave us great high quality gear and offered totes for our gear. We ubered to the spot so we would of had nowhere to stash our things if not for them. Highly recommend.
Could not recommend enough! The employees are so helpful and genuine. The prices are very reasonable (and they didn’t try to up sell us). And the convenience is unmatched! We had such a great experience with these folks.
The owners were so kind, attentive and engaging. When my friend called before our trip to san diego, they answered any and all questions we had. Customer Service was ABOVE and beyond, i literally felt like i was talking to my own friends. Hell, he even got our wetsuit sizes just by one shot. Didnt even ask for sizes. Great price for all the equipment. And even kept our belongings as we snorkled. If i had brought my kids, they would have thoroughly enjoyed what i did. Saw plenty of fish. And even had a close encounter with a sea lion passing by into shore. I would highly recommend for any tourists, as these two treat you like family.
Wonderful place to get snorkel gear. Alex was very helpful and knowledgeable about the area and sea conditions. Would definitely recommend and will rent from here again next time were in the area.

Alex is amazing. lost my snorkel and they totally set me up. even watched my gear while we went in and hooked us up with a go pro for the dive. 10/10 stop by and say what’s up. he’s set up right near the entrance to the main beach.
Went on a paddleboard session to go watch the SeaWorld firework show on the water. Such a cool idea! It was my first time paddleboarding and they did such a great job explaining the basics and letting me know the dos and do nots of the water. It was such a comfortable and fun experience with Alex and Hanh.Alex was also extremely courteous to the other people in the group that went. Didnt realize how long we were out and their dad was kinda freaking out. He apologized on the phone while we were out on the water and as soon as everyone was on land made sure to personally go apologize to the father again. Extremely nice, humorous and knowledgeable.Would use them again to go paddleboarding! 12/10 👍🏻👍🏻
Visited the cove today. The owner recommended snorkeling because the conditions were good. He was 100% correct! We seen lobster, schools of fish, garibaldi (adult and juvenile), and seals.
Best paddle board experience I’ve ever had! The staff is incredibly helpful and friendly and know the area so well. Their paddle boards are great. Highly recommend!

I would strongly recommend calling La Jolla Caves Snorkel and Paddle boards if you want to rent a paddle board over going to the big stores in La Jolla shores. Better equipment and experience will make a great day out on the water!

Our experience was AMAZING. We wanted to snorkel, and Alex helped us find the right size wetsuits and got our large group outfitted very quickly and easily. The gear was clean and in basically new condition, and it made snorkeling SO fun and enjoyable. They had a changing tent set up, so it was very easy to get all set up and head down to the beach. Alex had helpful advice for places to swim and eat and was great to talk to. I would recommend them to anyone looking to have a great time in La Jolla!
Stellar customer service, quality of the rental gear was well above anything I expected. Alex and Hanh were great in giving good usable local info that made my trip thoroughly enjoyable.
I gave them a call to see if they were open on thanksgiving weekend and they answered the phone right away. These guys were super nice and accommodating. We were able to find the right size fins for me and my daughter before we even showed up (he asked for sizes on the phone) before we left, he gave us a snorkeling map of the area. I’m not sure there was much more he could have done to make his customer experience any better!
Alex is the man. He helped with our last minute booking, ofter additional gears for our adventure and arrived in a timely manner. Highly recommend his service!

Great! Alex and Hanh were both extremely friendly, easy to work with, and professional. Alex communicated with us well beforehand to coordinate our date/time along with sizes for our paddle board and wet suits all for a great deal. It was a miracle to find this company renting snorkel gear near the cove. They are so kind and helpful, and have thought of everything to make your experience great, such as valuable storage and changing room and rinse water. Perfect! Don’t waste your time renting from anyone else. And nobody will be as conveniently located either.
If you need to rent some gear to go snorkeling, Alex will help you out. Very friendly and fair prices.
Extremely unsanitary. They say they aren’t renting gear but ask for the gear back. They had a return and gave me the return without washing. I can’t believe this is possible during a pandemic!
My husband and I went to La Jolla for our 10th anniversary last weekend. We happened upon Alex and Han running a booth renting snorkel gear for an excellent deal. We had never been before but wanted to do something different and decided to go for it. My husband was excited but I was super nervous. I cannot overestimate how helpful, encouraging, friendly, and knowledgeable Alex and Han were. The entire experience was fantastic. Alex even checked to make sure we were doing ok in the cove because he knew I was hesitant. It was gorgeous and worth every minute. When we retuned Han even suggested a great restaurant for us to eat dinner and that turned out amazing too. Well be back for sure. Thanks again guys!

2021-09-19We had a great experience snorkeling at the cove. The sea lions were very active and we were fortunate enough to get many photos. We are so grateful for the free phone lanyards we received as part of our rental. We are looking forward to going out a few more times this week when the water has more visibility. I would recommend this business to anyone looking for a fun outing.We returned to snorkel twice more and we’re able to wade with and swim the waters with the leopard sharks. This is such an amazing experience! I would give 6 stars if I could!

2022-02-19Alex was great, super responsive gave me everything I needed to snorkel + surf at an awesome rate. It was the off season and I went to their inland location to pick up. They were super nice helping me get fitted. Then when I needed to extend my rental they were super flexible.Gave me some great tips on where to go and their rates were exceedingly fair. Responded to literally every text within 2 minutes. Great customer care and a family business. What more can you ask for?Highly recommend checking them out if youre in San Diego.

2022-05-01Such a great experience with these guys! They really do care most about giving the customer a great experience over anything else. Super easy to communicate and book with, they provided us with the wetsuits, snorkel gear, and a waterproof camera bag. They offer a great rate with no time limit either! They want you to have the best experience without feeling limited to time. Both of the owners were really nice and personable, so we will definitely be referring them to our friends and also returning to snorkel with them ourselves. 10/10.

2022-03-19Alex and Hanh were great. Very communicative and responsive. They are mobile and have a huge beautiful van where we changed and could secure our possessions. They thought of every detail with sun screen, storage, and super nice equipment. I am over 300 lbs and they had sturdy paddle boards to accommodate me. They had a really nice wetsuit for my size as well. I cant say more about how convenient the entire experience was and how helpful they were. I highly recommend!

2022-06-28This was one of the greatest experiences I could ever partake in on my journey within this life. The La Jolla caves are a perfect place for snorkeling and enjoying the ocean. I’am very appreciative for the La Jolla caves snorkel and paddle board rental services for being such positive humans and also provided great quality in the equipment. They actually went above and beyond to making sure I fully would enjoy myself with the proper wet suit, goggles, waterproof case, etc. and I was able to record some good footage of me under water with the sea life. There is a gentleman by the name of Alex Fuller who exemplifies wonderful customer service and was extremely helpful. If you are ever visiting beautiful San Diego I highly recommend their services in comparison to many places with very reasonable prices as well as being my first time snorkeling I felt comfortable and I actually went numerous times after! 2022-06-13I can’t recommend this place enough! From start to finish we had an amazing experience with Alex & La Jolla Caves Snorkel & Paddleboard Rental. Super friendly, extremely helpful & communicative when it came to scheduling our rentals. Amazing prices, too! Tons of knowledge shared with us before we went out too & they can even send you an image of all the marine life you can see, as well as a map to other snorkeling spots. 2022-06-21Alex and Haun were AMAZING!!! Great communication and so helpful. Would give 1000 stars if it would let me. The cost is super CHEAP, great location, and full of fun. We had the best experience and if in area will go back to them. Saw fish, swam with sea lions, saw an octopus and enjoyed a FULL day with a very low price. We need more businesses like this! 2022-06-27I was visiting la Jolla Cove and seeing everybody going into the clear water made me feel jealous of them. Fortunately, Alex was there to provide me with all the equipment and I couldnt be more greateful to them! They have really good deals for renting wetsuits and snorkel gear in all sizes and colours! And dont worry if you dont have any waterproof camera, they provide you with a waterproof phone bag for free! Since I dont have my own equipment, I am always renting with them. They are extremely nice and wanna make sure you have your best experience snorkelling in La Jolla. I recommend them 100%.

2022-04-13This was the best part of our trip in San Diego.The snorkel experience: super easy and affordable, we had wetsuits and all snorkel equipment for 3 days and it only cost us the same rate as the day rate! Hanh emphasized repeatedly that they just care about taking care of people. They stored our stuff and let us use waterproof pouches to take videos and I got video of a sea lion! So refreshing to meet people that care about people and not money, I offered a tip and she said no need its part of the service WOW 6/5
