Island Notary is the best. Ive recently had to get a ton of paperwork notarized on several different occasions. My family has been very Covid conscious, so the thought of having meet with a person to get this done made me very nervous. Emis setup in her backyard is perfect. I felt very comfortable, and coming for a borderline germaphobe, thats saying a lot. She was also always able to get an appointment with her quickly and is a lovely person to boot.
Emi was able to squeeze me in on very short notice, and not only helped me find the correct form but even printed it out for me! I will absolutely come back if I need another livescan or notary service.
Emi was fabulous! She was helpful and kind. I flew into Oakland just to get the live scan and then was able to fly out on the same day due to Emi’s accommodating business. Thank you Emi!

I’ve been coming here for years. As a notary myself, Island Notary is Top Notch. I’ve send very difficult documents for RE transactions, and Emi handles it like a pro. She also does live scan for all the Alameda schools, which is super helpful and covneient with my busy schedule. I love when a small local business is phenomenal.

The owner of the business is friendly, accommodating and professional. I called near closing hour to gather information and Island Notary & Live Scan not only answered my call right away and was flexible to fit me in with a last minute appointment. There are plenty of street parking. Fees are reasonable as well. It’s really a nice friendly neighborhood place that is reachable by text to set up an appointment. I am able to bring my littles and the owner did not mind even set out toys to entertain them. They go above and beyond what is expected to offer accessibility parking flexible hour accommodation and clear explanations breakdown of government processing fees for live scan vs rolling fees not partial fee like other places. Their fingerprint fees are on the lower end compare to many others. I’ve always felt welcome here the past 4 times needing services.

This lady is really grumpy and easily upset. She is running a fly-by-night operation out of her basement and doesnt really seem knowledgeable. Fill your needs elsewhere!Piedmont Unified school district is in Alameda County. The discrepancy mentioned in this ladys response to my review is incorrect, hence the not knowledgeable statement above. When I refused to let her read my email, she became upset and started searching for reasons not to help me. The best she could do was PUSD is not in Alameda County. The live scan was done the following day by the DVC Police Department. This lady really has no clue and was a complete waste of time. I wish that I had never met her. Seriously, dont waste your time with this lady!

2020-09-11I had an extremely positive experience today with Island Notary & Live Scan. I went for live scan fingerprinting for a new job. It was very quick and easy to get the service set up. Text Emi ahead of time and you will make it easier for yourself as she lets you know what to bring. The service was professional and thoughtful. Emi practices the best of standards in the COVID-19 era and made me feel very safe. She is clearly very experienced and will make sure you are getting what you need taken care of. I really appreciated her kindness as well and the conversation while getting fingerprinted. I will recommend to anyone and if I ever need these services again, Ill be supporting Island Notary & Live Scan. Support local!

2021-03-17Emi from Island Notary & Livescan was super helpful and did a great job helping me with the livescan process. She was able to schedule me right after I got off work and went above and beyond to make sure I had everything sorted out for my new job. The price was much lower than any of the other places I looked as well. Definitely going to use her services again.

2020-11-19I had a great experience at Island Notary, from getting info and pricing up front, booking the appointment, and the service itself. Emi is pleasant and efficient - she really knows her stuff! I had a fairly unusual set of documents that needed notarization and I got everything done quickly in a very convenient and comfortable location. Price was right, too. I cannot imagine going anywhere else for notary work after that experience. Great to have such a solid local resource. Thanks again!

2020-11-16Island Notary has been awesome for all my notary needs. I have gone to Emi several times now and she has always made it convenient for me to get my documents notarized based on my schedule. Even now with Covid I had her notarize something for me and we met outdoors in her backyard, socially distanced and proper safety protocols. She is also very good and caught a mistake on one of the forms and fixed it immediately. Without her catching the mistake, I would have had to redo the whole process again. She is great!

2020-11-22I have had LiveScan/fingerprinting through Island Notary & Live Scan before and have sought her out again and again. Most recently I was newly employed and needed fingerprinitng stat and Emi was available. Other places Ive been were not as easy to get appointments. Ive always called on Emi first since. We are under pandemic conditions, mind you, and Emi had wipes and sanitizer at the ready, and many forms of contactless payment. The office was well ventilated and we were done in a flash. Emi knows all the questions to ask, even if I wasnt so sure of the answer. She processed things immediately and I was notified by my employer that I was cleared faster than I have ever heard of. Thank you!Additionally, I did not hesitate to tell my friend to go to Island Notary & Live Scan when she needed Notary services this summer, and she came all the way from San Leandro. Making an appointment was easy. We went together and came away very impressed with Emis thoroughness and knowledge base. This time we met outdoors in the patio and aside from the availability of wipes and sanitizer, she also had clean pens for signing documents at the ready. We all wore masks and I felt very comfortable with the setup.I am happy to support local, independent businesses and businesswomen who take pride in their work. Island Notary & Live Scan made it a snap to get my to-do list done. I highly recommend Island Notary and Live Scans services. I shall call on Emi to take the photos when anyone in my family needs to renew the passport next time.

2020-08-14I contacted Emi last minute and in need of a notary ASAP. I had tried the UPS store and a bunch of others in Alameda before landing on Island Notary. I was so grateful to Emi. She went out of her way to accommodate me and provided polite, professional, and prompt service. She was also very clear to communicate she required a face mask and to wash your hands before the notary. I thought that was so awesome! Payment was clear and easy. After the notary was complete I immediately received a receipt via email and text. I will totally be using them again for notary needs. :)

2020-11-06Ive gone to Emi twice now for personal documents and every time has been so easy, professional, and especially in these times, safe. She responds so quickly to new inquiries and we were able to get it setup right away. Emi allows for outdoor Notary services, and always has hand sanitizer.
