Very nice place. Great cocktails. Great staff and the food..... wonderful. Such a great place to come for food and drinks. Very reasonable for what you get. I had the pleasure of pork tenderloin in gargonzola sauce with mashed potatoes and vegetables. Everything on my plate was delicious. I had a long island ice tea to drink and it was perfect.
This place is my first choice site. Of all restaurants I know I favor it most. I never miss an opportunity to go to this restaurant. everytime I want to go to a fair lunchon, this restaurant comes instantly to my head. very good and food and a large list of dishes.trained staff, and good vibes. Also important, the expence is decent. I suggest this place with pleasure.
Nice people, nice menu, pretty good food. Had the pork chop special, most and flavorful. Mashed potatoes could have benefited from some butter and milk. Excellent beet salad. Wonderful chicken in Maple bacon glaze. Nice selection of local wines by the glass. We arrived just before closing, and they graciously kept the kitchen open for us and didnt Rush us at all. Shelly and Todd gave us lots of tops about tiring the local area. We started at the hotel overnight, and breakfast there next morning was wonderful.
Quaint hotel on the center of the Main St in this quiet little town. Location is central to wine tasting or meandering thru the other nearby towns.. either direction. Rooms are nice with comfortable beds and bathrooms with all necessities..(heated towel rack). Actually good tasting coffee is provided early in the morning outside the rooms allowing you to grab and sip away on the veranda while the early morning sun also warms you. Very nice dining area that can spill into an outside consealed courtyard lovely for warmer afternoon or evening cocktails. Full bar and dinner venue spot.
Good not great. Cool ambiance, friendly but slow service. Menu description (sandwich served on a brioche) didnβt match what ended up being substituted/served (sandwich on white bread); they shouldβve said they were out of brioche or couldβve got one from the bakery next door.
Fun time! Awesome staff and service. I received very fast responses to emailed questions. I was happy i was able to get a reservation on a potentially busy weekend. The bed was very comfortable, and pretty large for a historic hotel. It was also very quiet. I was a little concerned with the wooden floors, but it was quiet all night.Dinner was wonderful. My sockeye salmon was cooked perfectly, and my wifes chicken marsala was absolutely delicious, also cooked to perfection. The facility is enchanting, not modern, but all of our needs were well met. All the staff were so helpful. Amador City is actually quite small, and everything is within a short walk. And of course you are in gold country where there are many small historic towns and villages nearby.A small intimate bar, very reminiscent of what i imagine as an old western bar. An excellent selection of whiskys, beers and wines. 5 chairs at the bar, and several tables and chairs. Outside there are several tables on the patio.I agree with the other reviewer, this place is Great!
We stayed in the cottages and that was amazing. But the staff seemed like we were somewhat a bother. When we first arrived we asked about having dinner there and we were told they didnt have room they had gotten slammed tonight, there was one couple in the restaurant. There is complementary breakfast in the morning and you make reservations but when we got there, there wasnt a sole around. After a few minutes a woman noticed us and once again wasnt too excited that we were there. But breakfast was amazing and the girl who brought it was very friendly. I would stay again because of room and ambiance but staff needs a little more emph!
It is an amazing B&B! It has that historical appeal all architects love, its a well preserved building, good location, and the staff was super polite and friendly. The hotel also has the convenience of a bar and a restaurant inside with great food options. I would certainly recommend.
We had a wonderful stay at the Imperial Hotel and would highly recommend it to others! We visited a few wineries in Amador City and were pleasantly surprised at how accommodating the Imperial Hotel was. They provided a delicious breakfast that was included with the room rate. The historic hotel dates back to the late 1800s. However the dining room, hotel rooms and private bathrooms have been recently renovated. We enjoyed our stay as well as our dinner at the hotel. The staff was very friendly and hospitable. We even forgot a book in our room and they offered to mail it back to us.We hope that others will enjoy this great find as much as we did!
Lunch last Saturday afternoon fantastic. Past guest in the hotel, evenings are great the bar with Peter tending, and Mary Ann greeting you on arrival and when you depart the next day. Fantastic will be back in November out on the balcony enjoying a bottle of fantastic wine!
The hotel staff is super great. We were only there for a reception for a wedding, but were very knowledge about the buildings history and the town. The rates are very fair and the food was amazing. The specials they have are something my wife and I are planning to return and stay.
Imperial Hotel has rooms in the hotel and cottages off site. We stayed in room 7 which was huge with sofa area and over large bathroom with soaker tub for 2. It has a porch with chairs. The hotel has a small full bar and exterior tables.Breakfast is included and yummy.
The room is nice, and staff is friendly. There is no internet or cabel TV in the room we are staying in, but they do provide some books for entertainment. There is a TV in the room hooked up to a DVD player, so if you have some random DVDs laying around you could watch them, but why would you want too? This town is awesome! I would totally stay here again.
Suites 7 and 8 are world class. They would cost 500 a night in the Bay Area Restaurant good considering it is the only thing open after 7 in town.Wednesday nights, there is jazz in front of the Imperial, with a man playing single string washboard bass who worked at Lockheed Skunk Works.

2022-07-03We stayed here with friends on a wine tour back in 2012. Had to return to the Imperial this past June 2022. Amazing this B&B has not changed! An excellent place to stay if you are touring the Amador County Wineries. We stayed in #2 out front in 2012 and this time took #9 with a King bed. Very comfy room and on the north east side so it avoids that hot sundown exposure as it was quite warm in June. The focus here is definitely on the downstairs dining room and food! Theresa preparing our morning breakfast was a shining star for us. What an excellent job she does with all breakfast preparations and the best coffee! The best Breakfast Burrito thank you Theresa! John who greeted us and showed us to our room makes the best Martinis! I believe it was Michelle who served us dinner Excellent Server! My wife had the fish and I had the rack of lamb both prepared to perfection. If you dont stay here and in the area make a reservation for dinner you will not be disappointed!

2022-05-31Love the Imperial Hotel! Have visited 3 times now and always enjoy my stay. Staff is kind and welcoming. Mattress are a little tough/outdated, but fitting for historical purposes π Hope to visit again soon!

2022-06-05Nice room, very comfortable bed. It is an old hotel so the floor in room 2 creaks significantly. The balcony was really nice to sit on and enjoy the town

2021-11-10Historic hotel in Amador City. The rooms reflect the history in that the floors creak, but the beds are comfortable and bathrooms good. Our room (2) had a balcony overlooking the town which was cool. Restaurant and full bar downstairs with amazing food. Would definitely recommend and return again.

2021-03-08Charming destination hotel and restaurant. The rooms are straight out of the 1800s in charm. The ones we have stayed in have bathrooms and are very comfortable. Dont miss the bar and restaurant downstairs. The food is excellent and they are wonderful at taking care of you when you are a guest there.Dont miss all the local wineries in the area. We love to drive through Amador and soak up the good weather and local wines as part of the weekend.

2020-10-23We love the Imperial. True old time hotel. Friendly with a great breakfast included. The rooms are small but nice. All the rooms are up some stairs. They are not much different than they might have been in 1860 in lots of ways. Rooms 1 and 2 have the front balcony. Nice showers A/C. No TV.Dinners are reasonably priced with excellent food. You can eat out back in the patio or out front. The bar is never noisy downstairs but its great to be able to get a drink almost anytime or a tray of coffee for your room.Quiet as heck at night. They have a couple ofGreat cottages too across the street.

2020-09-04Came here for dinner and sat outside (Covid). Good variety with the menu. Flavors were on point. Service was friendly and attentive. Wed definitely come back! Had the gumbo, fettuccini Bolognese, caprese salad and pesto studded mushrooms (yum). Dessert was solid too.
