Stayed 3/14 to 3/15 in #214 was clean and easy to find. Although the issues were the man at front desk was stiff and aloof, not as customer service representatives should be, the toilet ran off and on ALL night long literally, miserable!!! Otherwise it was fome but will not visit again
I usually stay at the Holiday Inn Towers in downtown Burbank but reservation said theyre not part of the Holiday Inn property any longer so they suggested the north Hollywood property. I switched rooms the second day to one with heat. The internet was down the second day which was unfortunate since I use the room as an office. The second night I drive into the parking lot and a crazy man on a bike started screaming at me asking why I tried to kill him. I checked out the next morning and was offered free parking - which I appreciated. As far as Im concerned these were all unrelated circumstances that just happened... As I said, the staff were over the top polite and helpful.
If there is 100 ⭐️ ⭐️ I’ll do it!Here are the reasons why;•Front desk (Camilla) was very professions, helpful and courteous. I told her that my dad is not comfortable being on the 5th floor since he was in the service and suffered PTSD. Camilla went above and beyond to make sure she can find a room for us on the lower level of the building.• Breakfast buffet was amazing! It was well organized. They have freshly cooked sausages and omelets. Dairy has its own cooler. They have varieties of coffee, tea, orange juice, apple juice or choices of milk. You can either dine there or take it to your room.• The rooms were very clean.• Beds we’re so comfortable. We’re from Arizona and we planned a trip to go universal studios and Disneyland and went on different hotel and this was our third hotel since we went to different parts of California. Everyone here were compassionate and understanding. My kids now wants the same bed for their rooms. LolTo the owner, you have the best employees! My family could not thank you enough for making our stay amazing!
First off, the hotel and the customer service is first rate. The parking is great. I love the Mexican restaurant next door. Just replace or fix those desk chairs which cannot achieve a decent height, and you have a great place. Maybe offer something outside the usual for the breakfast, like a variety of vegetables, and perhaps three different fruits (citrus, berry, other). The breakfast landscape is changing, we want to be healthier. Two meats like bacon and sausage, on top of eggs,... well, just pick one?
My husband and I stayed here because he was having surgery nearby. My husband stayed in the hospital except for the first and last night. The parking is right near the door to the hotel and you need a key to get into the hotel and to go to the guest floors. This made me feel very secure. The hotel was clean. The area had quite a few homeless people around, but it actually seemed pretty walkable with lots of restaurants a short walk away. There is also a Metro stop a block away.
Mostly very good experience at this hotel. Decent-sized rooms, comfortable beds. Could do a better job of making sure cleaning staff are masked when in hallways. Hotel breakfast was...passable, I guess, but on the lower end of hotel continental breakfasts Ive ever had (and desperately needs more seating). Parking situation is dire, AND they make you pay for the privilege, whether there are available spots or not. Outdoor pool was shallow but quite nice nonetheless.
I really found the staff at the welcome desk to be very friendly and helpful. They were happy to recommend some great restaurants around town for dinner, and had also mentioned of upcoming events that we may be interested in returning for. Our room was very clean, and spacious. We had asked for an extra pillow which was brought immediately. The temperature was perfect, and the bed was comfortable. Overall, I would definitely stay again.
Came from New York for a concert and universal studios and it was a great stay! We expected the free breakfast to just be cold foods but they actually had eggs, bacon, sausage, and it changes every day as well. They also supply non dairy options! It was a wonderful stay. They are very conscious of COVID policies and the staff are also very helpful!
The hotel was easily accessible with or without highways and had ample parking. The rooms were clean and room service options were provided during check-in. There was friendly staff available throughout the entire day. The morning breakfast was nicely set up, fresh, and and industry standard in terms of options. The pool and gym area were well kept and a great option for down time while at the hotel. There are vending and ice machines and multiple food delivery and pick up options nearby.
Clean hotel, great staff. Area lacks a little to be desired. You have to use a card reader to get in the front door, in the main lobby. They also lock this door during breakfast to keep people from coming in and taking food.If this was in a better part of town it would have warranted a better review. However, given the area just understand it is undesirable. Limited restaurants in the immediate are so be prepared to walk. People there were really great. Happy with that and the accommodations were acceptable for the price point.Just be mindful of the location if you are booking this for vacation. Not the best area.Also.... no airport shuttle so add the cost of an Uber into your nightly rate. Almost hate to leave a moderate review because the people are working hard but having to lock the front doors to keep people from wandering in should be an obviously bad sign.
Staying for three days and two nights, we were asked upon arrival what cleaning services we would like. (I am sure this was for COVID comfort) We requested full service and NONE was supplied. When we returned late that second day, they just sent up clean towels. Unacceptable!I will say that the front desk was VERY kind and attempted to cover for housekeeping.
Clean room, friendly staff. Very secure property. Small pool, looks bigger in the pictures. Breakfast items were good but very few variety. Close to the places we visited (Universal studios, Sunset Blvd, Hollywood, Beverly Hills). The hotel is not in the greatest area however the building is very secure and all the safety protocols made me feel safe.
The hotel was clean and spotless. Parking was accessible and ample but almost all underground. Not in the best of neighborhoods, but for LA, its actually better neighborhood than nearby hotels and a very quick access to airport, Hollywood, Griffith Park, downtown LA, and other attractions. Its also not as expensive and parking costs less than other nearby Holiday Inn brand hotels.
I made online reservation for a particular room type but was told that room was not available upon arrival. The front desk person was rude and not helpful. He simply said I could cancel my reservation if I liked. Well, I had a confirmed reservation for this particular room type so they needed honor that. He said they only had one room like that and it was not available. It was too late for me to find another hotel so I decided to stay. Then I noticed the bathroom vents and AC vents were all caked with thick layer of dust. It was disgusting. I let the manager and staff know. I will not stay here again.
Besides managements admission that they had given up on enforcing the Companys masking policy, we had a great four night stay. Staff was always courteous. Newer property with clean rooms and textiles. Great safe for electronics, etc. Inexpensive and easy parking. Close to the major roads and the Metro.
It was a smooth check in , friendly staff clean roomsWith sanitizer throughout the hotel. Swimming pool is shallow and small but lounge area was clean. Only issues I had were parking fees . Why charge Extra to park when your customers are already paying to stay ?Maybe get a better parking system so others not staying at the hotel can not park there.
Location is close to Universal Studios, but this area is not nice. We only stayed for 1 night, and everything was fine except for when we went swimming. The pool is heated, which is nice. There is a fire exit stairs in the pool area (2nd floor) to the first floor. All of sudden there was a homeless person who got in through the fire exit stairs, put all of his things down and started to undress to swim. We already knew what he was about to do, so we all left. There were other guests with us there. It seems to me this homeless person has done this before.
The hotel itself is clean and the staff is good. However, the location is in a rough part of town. This is not a good family location. Business travel only and even then, its expensive to get to the airport. Area is sketchy overall and I wouldnt walk the streets after dark. Hotel locks all of the doors, including the lobby. Would not be my first choice!
The hotel is fine. Clean, easy to get to with onsite parking. The breakfast is better than many. I do not appreciate the shampoo and soap in a large refillable container, I realize that it is more eco friendly and economical but it is not as sanitary.Homeless in tents on sidewalk across street. Walking to nearby restaurant often gives one fragrance of urine from the homeless. Not as bad as many other areas of LA but the homeless have impacted the area. I will not return because of the area.
We had a comfortable room on the 4th floor. The location is very urban / central and therefore a bit noisy. Parking was very convenient (costs extra). We found that this property handled Covid protocols very well. The reception staff was super helpful and friendly. An overall great experience! We would book there again. Very close to Universal Studios, the Griffith Observatory, UCLA, and both Getty locations.
Very pleasantly surprised. Arrived fairly late, so wasn’t expecting much, but gentleman at the front desk was so pleasant and helpful. The rooms are very spacious and very clean. No outside noise noticed whatsoever. The entire stay was wonderful. 10/10 for this hotel!
Im updating my review Ruff part of town Management not professional at all some of staff very Incompetent there front staff didnt take care of me or my guests when I complained to management they turned it on me said I was mean to one of staff which I wasnt I was firm not mean obviously it was someones Relative. I was staying every week 52 times a year and they asked me to leave. After being treated like that I was Happy to leave went to Burbank Ramada got a better deal better service & much nicer Neighborhood I would suggest to anybody thinking of staying at the Holiday Inn express in North Hollywood to consider the Ramada Inn Burbank No homeless people on the sidewalk and no drug dealers after 5 oclock by the front doors And a much better rate
The beds were really comfortable to sleep on. The pool was clean. I stayed for 2 nights and breakfast was included but the food selection and taste could have been better. I didn’t eat much of it and ended getting a meal somewhere else. Overall, I would probably stay here again because location and how far it is from the people and places that I’m visiting.
The toilet needed to be plunged twice - once by us at 5:30 in the morning and the next time, the following evening by a technician with a snake. Disgusting. The refrigerator made such a loud alarm sounding noise in early morning, it woke us up two mornings in a row. When we complained about these inconveniences, our parking charges - $20 - were removed from our bill. We had thought $100 was more like it.We had stayed here in the past but will find another place next time we are in the area.
Liked: beds, breakfast buffet, personnel, eco-friendly shower dispensers, garage. Didn`t like standing on tub rim to adjust shower head. Be advised if your car has low ground clearance, or extended length beyond tires you should examine garage ramp before you use it, or just park in the small street level lot.
Arrived late from our flight in and the staff were super helpful getting us checked in. The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. Got cleaned up and slept well. There were not enough cups for both an evening cup of tea and a morning cup of coffee. All but one coffee pod were decaf. In the morning the breakfast was severely lacking had a choice of 3 types of sausage, scrambled eggs and 2 types of yogurt. At them end of our meal some muffins and a small bowl of tangerines were brought out. Not what I have come to expect.
Wonderful service provided by the employees. The room was nice and clean to where there was a note left by the cleaning team with the persons name on the card on who cleaned your room before you arrive. I felt safe with the covid-19 protocols and the breakfast to-go options were great to where I was very satisfied. My main visit was for Universal Studios and the Los Angeles Zoo, which are both Very close to this hotel. I really highly recommend staying here. I had a Fantastic stay here May 16th-20th 2021.
The only preference I would like them to change is having shower stalls instead of bathtubs. However, at least the bathtub had a low threshold to step over. Other than that and the necessity of not having the breakfast buffet for now, my stay was fantastic. The staff to check in was very friendly as was the staff when I checked out. Parking and room access is easy. The room was very comfortable and modern and well maintained. The location provides easy access across the broad SFV, to Universal Studios, to Burbank, and to Hollywood.
This is my second stay. First stay was adequate and the hotel is close to my daughter’s apartment. This stay was a disappointment. No parking left-was told by front desk personnel to park in handicap spot“Free Breakfast”-Was not told you had to turn in your breakfast request the night before. When I asked for a breakfast sandwich, it was given to me still in plastic wrap and still frozenI stayed 8 days-was told room would be cleaned after 5 days unless I needed something specific. On the 5th day, I asked for cleaning. Front desk asked me what specially I needed. I had to tell him I just wanted “full-service” cleaning.
We set our stay preference to higher floor and away from elevators but they put us in room 207. . .On the second floor next to the elevator and pool entrance. We were woken up several times by kids running to the pool or just whining right in front of our door because they didn’t want to leave the pool. Also we could hear all the traffic outside every morning. We filled out the breakfast form and turned it in before 1130pm and when we went in the morning to “grab and go” they only had one bag because they lost the other form. So we just got whatever was left. The pool is nice and the location of the hotel is prime because it’s near the airport, Universal Studios and Hollywood boulevard. The A/C cools off room very fast and beds are comfortable. Microwave and mini fridge came in handy. We stayed for 3 nights and 4 days.
Deciding to stay at this hotel was a decision on the whim while eating out in Santa Monica! While reading the reviews, I decided that this would be the place we could feel safe to rest our heads for a night to prepare for a long drive in the am. When we arrived parking was plenty to find and reasonably priced ( highly suggest bundling it with the room and to know the license plate before check in). The room was sanitary, comfortable and the perfect place to rest. The morning breakfast was super efficient to pick up as we were offered to pick our items at check in. 10/10 would stay here again.
The room was nice and bed was comfortable however the lighting in the bathroom wasnt great for getting ready. Rooms facing Burbank Blvd. are a bit noisy from road traffic. Hotel is secure and felt clean. The continental breakfast couldve been better and the coffee wasnt great.
Upon arrival front desk staff was friendly and gave us our key. Went to our room, but found rags all over the floor with a fan blowing. Had to take all of our luggage back down to the front desk. Given a new room. Got to room, things appeared to be okay. Noticed a big hole in the shower curtain, made bathroom feel look rundown. In the later evening my son dropped his phone on the ground. He went to pick it up and found a pair of dirty men’s underwear under the bed. Absolutely unacceptable! That tells me the room was cleaned at a bare minimum, where we can see only. I would expect rooms to be cleaned EXTRA carefully during this time of a pandemic. We will not be returning to this hotel. So disappointed!!
Everyone here were compassionate and understanding. My kids now wants the same bed for their rooms. LolTo the owner, you have the best employees! My family could not thank you enough for making our stay amazing!
On our second day of stay , we were awakened by obnoxious smell on the hallway, we were at Room 301. I thought it was skunk-kind of smell then I realized it is the smell of weed. It was early in the morning (6:30 am). I complained to the front desk and and he let us moved to another room but it was very inconvenient. The smell permeates the hallway for awhile and nobody came to clear it with deodorizer or ozone cleaner.Disgusting!
Expected good quality beds, clean, comfortable.Night will be great depending on your neighbors, because walls are thin. There is no real breakfast, so dont waste your money adding that to your stay.Dont expect the swimming pool to be open.I understand the Covid-19 regulations, but things need to be explained in their website
Everything seemed fine until I realized the pillow cases and the bed sheets smelled old, as if they havent been washed in days or even weeks. As a custodial employee myself, when I noticed the bed sheets, I only imagined what else doesnt get cleaned and is in need of daily attention.
Positive: Great location and amenities. Negative: Stayed 2 nights, the second night I could not sleep due to loud music playing next door or possibly in the hotel, I could not tell where it was coming from. We needed the rest for the long drive home but did not get it.
In-room refrigerator awakened us two mornings at 5:30 a.m. with an alarm-sounding noise until it was shut off and turned on again. When we told the front desk person about it, she said they all do that. Toilet was plugged and required maintenance - by us, the first morning, and by a technician, the second evening. We asked for a discount due to the hassles and were given $20 off our stay. Try to find another hotel.
This hotels best thing is the affordability, considering how close it is to Hollywood landmarks. However, it is still certainly far enough to require a car or uber.It is advertised as the newest hotel in the area, but that is a bit of a misnomer. The recent brand refresh I see in other hotels does not apply to his hotel. It is clean and functional but isnt what Id consider newest. If it is, it is a technicality. Additionally, while the room seemed mostly clean, there were objects left behind in the closet from the prior guests and the remote while put in a sanitized jacket, looked like it had been reused many times, and looked badly wrinkled - neither of these makes the room seem specifically clean. The location, while close to Hollywood, is also its biggest detractor. The actual neighborhood for this hotel is very questionable. I am glad they had underground parking (extra fee), which provided a degree of comfort in the security of our vehicle. But it wasnt a place where I wanted to go walking with my kids during the day, and certainly not to the local restaurants after dark. Even driving a few blocks away to the downtown eating restaurants, the walk between the eatery and the car made my teenager a bit uneasy. This is the newest building within a block or two, by far. So its like they built the nicest hotel in the worst neighborhood -- cheap land! Just disappointing when it comes to IHG/HI.The breakfast was VERY below standard, even during Covid. It is less than half the food/calories that youd get before Covid and still far less than I received from other Holiday Inn Expresses in other locations. It is like theyre aiming for the minimum they can get away with. The staff was okay, nothing special. I didnt feel especially welcome, no acknowledgment of loyalty, etc.
We had an excellent stay. We will definitely be back. The price is great! We appreciated the special of Buy two nights, get the third night free! This is a clean, quiet hotel. There was plenty of parking. The inside and outside of hotel are kept clean. We were greeted courteously. Breakfast was great! Nice quiet area for morning coffee in library area. Coffee and cookies provided during the day :-) our room was clean. Nice Fitness room. I was able to print my boarding pass on computers in business center before leaving hotel and staff allowed us to stay two extra hours at no charge because our departure time changed. Everyone was very helpful. Ive stayed at other hotels close by and this is by far my favorite! We will definitely be back!!
After searching multiple hotels in the area I decided on Holiday Inn Express. I was skeptical of the area, but hoping for the best with the hotel choice. What a wonderful surprise! The hotel was bright and clean, comfortable and safe! Parking was easy and convenient and clean! 100% smoke free! The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. The room and bed were comfortable. There was a mini fridge, microwave, coffee pot and safe in the room. Breakfast was tasty with several healthy, hot and sweet choices. Would have preferred a little more fresh fruit. My only slightly negative comment is that the water pressure in the shower was less than ideal. All in all a fabulous experience that exceeded our expectations! Well definitely stay there again!
Our family of three visited for 4 nights. It is a newer facility that is well maintained. The lobby is a bright nice open concept and grand welcoming experience. Rooms are generously sized. We had a King bed with Sofa bed. The Sofa bed was extremely lumpy, but my daughter didnt complain. Having a memory foam mattress on the Sofa bed would have addressed this issue easily as the unit looked quite new. The rest of the visit was great. The roof deck pool was adequate though the lack of hot tub was disappointing after some long days of walking. Noise was minimal and we all slept well. Rooms and bathrooms are modern and bright. Staff were all pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was typical and quite reasonable, but unremarkable outside of the cinnamon buns highlight. The variety of foods was good, but the eggs/meat were mostly marginal. Parking was some of the cheapest I could find in LA, with an ample amount of parking in the underground lot. Dining options in the immediate area are limited, but you drive everywhere in LA, so this wasnt unexpected. We visited both Universal Studios and the Warner Brothers Studio, both of which I would highly recommend and are a short 5-10 drive away.
The greeters and staff at this hotel were so cordial and kind. The breakfast was amazing! I loved their vegetable omelets, muffins, and warm cinnamon buns. The bed was so comfortable! I also enjoyed drinking warm tea as I read my evening paper provided to me by the hotel along with one of their warm continental cookies. I honestly enjoyed my stay at this establishment.
I have stayed at a few Holiday Inn Experess and my stay here would rank as one of the best. It seems to be a newer construction so the building itself, the fixtures, common areas and structure in general look good. The room was clean and spacious and the beds and bedding were comfortable. The staff entire staff was friendly and attentive. As a whole, they all get an A . The area where it sits is a bit industrial so there isnt much in the few blocks immediately around it, but 3 or 4 blocks away you will find plenty of restaurants, bars, a moive theater and a main public transportation hub. While the area around it may seem a bit dark (city streetlights are either dim or spaced very far apart) the hotel itself is quite safe. I saw the security guard making his rounds in the building and parking area. The free breakfast was what you would expect. Nothing fancy, but enough to get your day started. The kitchen crew was frequently checking and refilling the buffet items and cleaning up the plates (again, the staff was on point).
This hotel is great. Not in the best neighborhood but car feels safe in the parking lot and they close access to the front lobby at night. You also need a room key to get upstairs. The rooms are spacious and bathroom you dont feel claustraphobic in it. The biggest plus is the big tvs with HDMI inputs as well as wired ethernet connections for internet. That is crucial when working in the hotel and the wireless may be spotty depending on the room. I come down here for work quite a bit and will stay here over most IHG hotels in the LA area for safety and great room value. I will be back for work in a few months!
Everything was so clean and neat. Every amenity was attended to by the hotel. The grounds are tidy and well-kept and the service people are polite, professional, and simply awesome. The towels were large and fluffy, and the shower was very good for a hotel--plenty of hot water and good water pressure. The bed was firm and oh, so comfortable. The room was a very comfortable size with bed, easy chair and desk. A small fridge was available to store snacks, etc. The television has every station you could want and the rooms are sound-proof: I NEVER heard noises from any of the other visitors, the fitness center, or even the ice-machine.After this experience, I am sold on Holiday Inn Express. I dont yet know where I am going next, but for sure I will stay at another hotel in this chain. The underground parking was a winner during the hot summer Los Angeles days, and the hotels location was extremely convenient to many near-by attractions.
I chose this HI Express because of its proximity to Universal Studios. Overall I enjoyed my 2 night stay along with my grandson. Everything about the hotel is quite nice. The location, amenities, cleanliness and appearance are all great. I would have given this review 5 Stars for everything expect for one significant issue. On my first night, the in room refridgeator made a loud buzzing noise. Unable to stop it, I turned off the unit and reported this to the front desk the next morning. The on duty clerk said she would have it taken care of right away. However, when I returned to my room early that evening it was obvious that no one had looked at the offending appliance. So, I just left it turned off as I really didnt need to use it. My concern is that the issue was not addressed as had been promised. I expect more from Holiday Inn. I would stay here again, BUT !!
I had an overall good experience at the Holiday Inn Express North Hollywood-Burbank Hotel. The building exterior and interior was decent. Staff was friendly and accommodating at check-in and check-out. The hotel room was neat and tidy. The bed was comfortable. I stayed on the second floor so I was close to the amenities, which was nice. I am grateful for the full breakfast they offer because I was late for my meeting and was able to grab my meal and check out immediately. Parking was ample despite being underground. The hotel appeared to be in a seedy area at first glance, however, the facility has security measures in place to minimize the ability for non-hotel guest to enter the hotel room floors, unless they have a room card for the elevator. Watch out for people knocking on your door randomly because it happened to me. The person stated she was just checking if someone was in the room which was weird, but whatever. The bathroom was clean and well supplied, but my shower was running at both the showerhead and the spout which was annoying because it lowered the water pressure, but that is a common problem at hotels (a least the tub was not filling up).Overall, good experience. I would still give it another try if needed.Other than that, I had a good stay :)
I have been coming down to this area for quarterly meetings and have stayed at a couple of other hotels in the surrounding area, but always ended back here. This hotel has proven to be the best! I didn’t do the free breakfast this past visit, but always loved their choices, especially the ripe fruit! Great to be able to grab a fresh cup of coffee on the way out. Front desk staff are the best too!
My family booked 3 rooms for a recent stay visiting Universal Studios and the hotel was very nice. It is convenient to Universal and the complimentary breakfast was very good. Parking is easy and plentiful. There was an issue with hot water in our room and as a business owner myself I was very happy with the customer service (resolving the problem) the manager provided to- this type of customer service is rare these days! Thank you and I do recommend you consider this hotel for your stay
Horrible experience, only in town for 3 days and picked the worst hotel. The staff is horrible from the front desk to the housekeepers, we called the front desk to get assistance with getting fresh towels and trash removal 2 days later we still are waiting. The woman serving breakfast had a nasty attitude with serving a free breakfast and when trying to explain what we wanted was rude and threw a paper and pencil at me then had the nerve to say oh im sorry im very busy. But treated the gentleman in front of us with the utmost respect and not once cut them off to say she was too busy. But if you call out discrimination youre the one in the wrong smfh If you need a quick place to lay your head while staying here and your skin is more tan than others dont expect much from a customer service standpoint. I’d rather stay in a hostel than to ever give this hotel a dime of my money. And dont bother escalating to anyone all they will do is “write a report” whatever the hell that means.
My family and I stayed here for a quick family get away to Universal Studios Hollywood. The hotel was only a few miles from Universal studios. I believe they have shuttle service but we did not take advantage of this service. The hotel lobby and rooms were very clean and nice and the bed was comfortable. I appreciated that you could not take the elevator up to the room floors without a key. The parking was adequate and the price for the rooms and parking were very fair for the area. The hotel breakfast was convenient and very good and there was an attendant making sure that everything was fresh and up to par. The staff was very friendly and attentive. The noise from the street was a little loud early in the morning, but not too bad throughout the night. Overall we had a great experience and would definitely stay here again.
I liked the appearance of the hotel very clean and classy. We had an issue with our room keys not letting us in in the beginning, but gal at the front desk kindly replaced the keys. The breakfast was just okay. I have stayed at the Holiday Inn at Seaside California and their breakfast was superb...the breakfast menu was pretty much the same here except the bacon and sausage was overcooked.. and the coffee wasnt brewed properly. The lady that cleaned the food area want very friendly or attentive to the guests. My hubby and I adored Jason the front desk clerk. He was super friendly and extremely helpful. He is what made our trip here pleasant. There was one day we were here and the housekeeper did not clean our room even though we took out the do not disturb sign. So we were not pleased with that. Not sure if I will come here again.
DID NOT GET MY $174 WORTH AND THEY LIED TO ME ABOUT INCIDENTALS CHARGE TURNAROUND TIME.Incidentals charge $150 on top of $174 room charge. Incidentally, NO CONDITIONER in shower. They have big bottles beautifully displayed in the shower but the conditioner bottle was broken/empty. I went to the front desk with my hair in a towel and NO CONDITIONER AT FRONT DESK EITHER! .. They did nothing to make it up other than try to get me to sign up with their rewards program. They told me $150 returned back in a few days, about a week so now its been a week, the girl told me 2 to 3 weeks. I called to speak with the manager and was sent to voice mail, twice. No return call back, no concern AT ALL.
The hotel is a standard holiday inn express. The desk staff was excellent. The hotel has some age to it but in good condition. Good breakfast but exactly the same the days we were there. Shower head didn’t adjust but otherwise a nice room. Too much parking spaces “reserved” for electric cars that most ignore anyway. All in all good value, good food, good location, excellent staff.
Overall the stay was excellent- nice facilities, good breakfast, good value. There is a night club next door that was incredibly loud on Friday night. We were in a room on the very end of the hotel by the nightclub and couldn’t get to sleep until 2am. The staff did what they could and the next day the manager did comp us that night. If I were staying on a weekend, I would request “smaller number rooms” (501, not 520) to get as far away as possible.
I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel is also in a good location. It’s close to the shopping area and the grocery stores as well as restaurants. I recommend this hotel to anyone who wants a clean room and is in the heart of the shopping district. Jeremy Dawn
I woke with a sore back due to the mattress sagging too low. I ask for another mattress and the general manager stated all their mattresses was the same and had no replacement mattresses. I was then asked to perhaps move to another room. If all the mattresses are the same why would I move to another room? I am a spire elite member and know the difference between firm and soft mattresses. The general manager I spoke to stated the mattresses was in the middle. I disagree. This one is not in the middle but soft. The managers attitude seemed to me as just don’t care attitude. No way to treat a spire elite member. I will voice my concern to IHG folks.
We came to Universal Studios for the day, and just wanted a place to rest before we went home the next day. The neighborhood didn’t appear entirely welcoming, but it worked for a night. The pool wasn’t the cleanest, there were swimsuits thrown and left about, but it will do for one night.
A regular, clean and safe Holiday Inn Express... we were there for a week. When we arrived at our room the safe did not work and the fridge made a noise like an express train. The staff were very apologetic and both items were fixed quickly (but it does beg the question why these werent checked before we arrived?).The staff were very friendly and helpful, especially the front desk staff. The location was perfect to visit most of the highlights of LA... we used the metro, buses and Uber to get around.
Overall, the hotel was nice. The room was very roomy and comfortable, and the breakfast buffet was good. The front desk staff were friendly, professional, and very attentive to by familys needs. My only complains are that the hotel did not have a free shuttle to Universal Studios, the fitness center closes too early, there was no hot tub, and the area where the hotel is located is not in an attractive neighborhood.
My stay was extremely enjoyable. The managers and staff were very warm and friendly, and the hotel was in tip top condition. My room was much bigger than I imagined it would be, and the bed was very comfortable. I had an option of a firm or soft pillow to sleep on, which made it so hard for me to leave the bed when it was time to get up. The bathroom was also spacious and very clean. The security system made me safe for my family to stay at this hotel. It was such a pleasure to return to my room at days end to find it completely refreshed, as if no one had been staying there at all. Parking was great and the hotel is located in a area which is only minutes away from the major attractions in LA. I enjoyed the ease of getting around from the hotel to points of interest.
The hotel was clean, conveniently located to universal studios. We slept well, hotel was very quiet. Good breakfast with a big variety of choices. We really liked the hotel security. It would have been nice if our remote worked, but we didn’t find out until late so we never brought it to the attention of the hotel,
We have stayed at this location several times. It is like most other HI Express locations but this feels a little more upscale. Maybe it is the expansive lobby. The staff were all friendly and attentive. The rooms were clean and quiet. I wish that there were more options for breakfast but what was offered was constantly re-stocked and the breakfast area was clean. They could use more seating. We like this hotel and will be back in the future.
From start to finish the stay was excellent due to the staff. Checking in was a breeze. The associate was kind and professional. She even contacted her manager when I had a concern about my points. She answered all my questions about breakfast, parking, safety, etc. Breakfast? Covid-19 no problem! When we checked in we selected our breakfast choices and when it was time for breakfast we went to pick up goodies up. Everything was bagged and ready to go. The staff was also very friendly. I needed to conduct and interview via Zoom and the staff turned the music down in the business center so I could handle the interview. Our school was able to secure a fantastic teacher for the job! Thank you for making our stay comfortable and nice!
Received a great welcome from Danielle at the front desk on our arrival. She had cookies and water available for us. She also had a great attitude and made sure the customer needs were satisfied. Plus she offered great food options that were around. The room was very clean. The internet worked right away along with the TV. The street was a bit noisy but after about 9 PM it died down.Exiting the hotel during the day can be a bit of a nightmare but if you have a GPS handy, you can find an alternate route.Their breakfast buffet (they called it that) was pretty good. All was fresh but the sausage was a little cold. But great meat quality along with very yummy sweet rolls. The gym was very clean with functioning equipment. Had no problem with the gym. Did not use the pool though (not enough time).I would stay here again if I was in the neighborhood again. And will try the Mexican restaurant next time (Danielles suggestion).
So I stay here tonight and it was awful. The second floor when you walk off of the elevator smells like smoke. The first room that I checked into smelled like wet dog. The second room that I checked into smelled like smoke. The rooms are not very clean at all. The Third room that I settled into the A/C went out in the middle of the night. I checked out of the hotel and I was only offered a partial refund. The rooms are very dated and they are very muggy smelling. I do not recommend them for the type of prices that they put online. When you could very easily stay at a hotel like Hilton or Sheraton for $10 to $20 more. I do not recommend this hotel at all whatsoever. The entrance looks nice but the hotel rooms themselves are horrible.
Stayed at the Holiday Inn Express North Hollywood while transiting LA recently. The hotel was well situated on Burbank Blvd, walking distance to several restaurants. The hotel itself is new or newly renovated. The room was large and very comfortable. Grab and go breakfast was provided, strict enforcement of Covid-19 policies and procedures, and felt I was at minimal risk staying at this property.
I could not have been more pleased with our stay at the Holiday Inn Express Burbank. After a long day at the theme park the staff was so friendly and helpful. The room was perfect the bed so comfortable. And in the morning the breakfast options were delicious. The staff working in the breakfast area were also so kind to us and making sure we had everything we needed. One of my best hotel stays.
Recently stayed here at the Holiday Inn Express North Hollywood on a recent trip to L.A.We were in town to attend the Ellen show and wanted to stay somewhere near by and after researching surrounding hotels we decided on this based on distance and previous reviews. Like most of L.A. the area can look a little sketchy but dont let that fool you on the interior of this hotel. So clean, very updated and great rooms. The beds were very comfortable, they accommodated my request of extra pillows prior to my arrival. The bathroom is large enough to fit more than one person and the amenities offered were great. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the breakfast area was very comfortable and clean. You get your standard hot breakfast but it was a bit better than I expected. I will definitely stay here again on a return trip to the Burbank area and highly recommend it if you are looking for a place to stay.
Location is convenient with easy access to SFV and via 170 to 101 to Hollywood and east to Burbank. Modern hotel that was comfortable and with easy connection to TV for streaming from laptop. Comfortable bed. Staff was patient and helpful as I found out my IHG credit card had been subject to fraud during the day prior to my hotel check in.
Despite the neighborhood it is a very nice little hotel. I stayed for a week for business. Room was spacious and clean, comfortable bed and nice bathroom. It is not new but it is well maintained. Staff was always nice . Breakfast was very good. On a long stay I would like to see more choices but it was very good. I would stay again in this hotel.
I have been in many hotels usually it is a good stay but i stayed at holiday inn and I was amazed. First check in was at 3 and I arrived earlier than I expected but they let me check in ASAP. Then the elevators only work if u have a keycard So that is great for security measures. Room was very nice from a comfy bed to nice bathroom. The main reason i chose this hotel was free breakfast. Not only was it free but it is hands down the best breakfast I had in a hotel. I was blown away by the selection of silk milk, cinnabon rolls fresh egg omelet and sausage. Coffee had fv and hazelnut creamer and so much more. Just for the breakfast it was worth it. Also right down the road is Universal Studios so didnt have drive much.
Upon my arrival to my guest room, I noticed that the television wouldn’t turn on so I check the batteries in the remote and they were there and working. I then checked to see if the TV was plugged in and noticed that there was no power cord. The front desk replaced the cord within 15 minutes which was acceptable. Later that evening I proceeded to take a shower and noticed that there weren’t any wash clothes so I called the front desk and asked were they not placed in the room due to Covid-19 and was told yes. I was then brought up wash clothes. I then proceeded to shower and noticed that the shower gel that’s attached to the wall in the shower was completely empty, I called the front desk and they gave me some. Later that evening evening I met two friends for dinner and expressed my issues and was informed that they had wash clothes in their room which contradicted what the front desk had told me. I’m not sure if the representative knew that I had 3 rooms at the hotel so I feel as thou he just said that because it was an easy excuse. I told the front desk about the issues and was told that a manager would contact me, which never happened. This is my fifth time staying in North Hollywood within the past 4 months and would really have to question if I would stay again at this hotel.
Basically a room to stay in with no other amenities. Breakfast is in a bag like a brown paper sack lunch. Cannot work out in facilities. Now they charge for parking which is not that great. used to stay in this hotel a lot but will start looking at other choices since basically this is just a room and nothing else. They won’t even clean up the room unless you put in a special request.
This was a very nice, clean and friendly place to stay. We were greeted with a warm smile everytime we walked past the front desk. The breakfast was really good for a continental breakfast. The gym was very clean and had good equipment in there. The room was very nice and clean.
Actually a really great hotel for our quick stay. The staff was friendly and helpful. They had cookies in the afternoon for anyone who wanted one (they kids loved them). The rooms were clean and orderly. Some of the outlets in the room didnt work and this hotel shares the near universal problem of not enough lighting in the room.Complementary breakfast each morning was between 0630 and 0930. It was really good. Eggs, mini omelets, toast, muffins, biscuits and gravy, sausage, bacon, bagels, pancakes, Cinnabon pull-aparts, and more. The pool was just fine. The kids loved it and while it appeared small from the photos we had seen, it was just fine.
Overall good experience. I was not to happy to see homeless encampment just outside our window as a view. The female was screaming out loud to no one. I know the hotel for the most part may not be able to control that but was disappointing. Next time, I’ll ask for a different room/view…!
Rooms were clean. Front desk staff is nice. Breakfast is good. Housecleaning did not refill shampoo and threw away the ones used day before so had to flag down someone and ask. Also did not provide towels so had to go and ask. Next to a night club so you can hear club music. Annoying car kept honking for five minutes straight around 1am. Woke me up. Otherwise a decent place to stay.
It was not a terrible experience. It just wasn’t a great one the people who work there were nice and it was clean it just wasn’t cool or exciting place to stay at. The over all neighborhood was bad and there was not much to do around the hotel. Also for the price I paid at what they say was a good deal was way past what it was worth I saw some nicer places for less I should have went to however I chose this place cus it was close to universal studios. I live in San Diego so I guess it would have been better to just drive back home instead of saying there is I didn’t need to. I feel for a business trip this hotel would be a good place to stay but definitely not for a leisurely getaway
The hotel was impeccably clean and wonderfully styled! Serious kudos to the housekeeping team for their hard work, it definitely shows! You can also tell there was real thought put into the design details of everything. The lobby and rooms were very chic! The staff was great and I appreciated the offer of complimentary water upon check-in. Breakfast was great and the lady working breakfast did an excellent job. The breakfast area was packed and she was constantly moving and kept everything fully stocked & clean, all with a friendly smile! I appreciated the large size of the room and ease of access to power outlets. Parking is $10 per night. The hotel is only about a block from the Metro Red Line too, which can take you straight to Hollywood Blvd without all the traffic. This hotel is definitely worth staying at!
It was a great experience, we stayed twice this year. The breakfast was generous hot food. I love the pancake maker. The rooms are beautiful, clean, lots of towel, lots of pillow. The staff are so friendly especially those at the front desk. Will definitely stay again next time.
We stayed for 1 week at the hotel. The check-in and check-out was smooth. The staff was friendly and attentive and the service was great. The common areas were kept clean and we thought the room was very homely and had everything we needed. The soap smelled so good! Internet was great at all times that we used it as well. Parking area was well-monitored it seemed and kept clean also. The breakfast was quite comprehensive.Shout out to Josh for being awesome at the front desk!
This was my third stay at this hotel and this time I dragged my sister along. Prior to our arrival, she warned me that the only hotels her little girl had stayed in were very fine, expensive hotels, and I should not be offended if she seems disappointed. I told her I was confident she would be satisfied. She and her daughter were very impressed. The lobby is bright, open, polished, and welcoming. The front desk staff are warm and friendly, as well as knowledgeable and efficient. The breakfast area is always spotless. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and the mattress and pillows were lovely. We enjoyed the pool area, especially my waterbug niece. The pool was clean without being over-chlorinated.I use this hotel when I come to the area to visit my daughter, and each time I check in, I feel as though Im coming home.
Beginning with viewing the holiday in North Hollywood on line, I was taken with both its reasonable pricing as well as the reviews I saw there. My stay was comfortable, safe, and made so by the excellent staff . It was clear that customer service was number one.I would most certainly recommend this holiday inn express.
Our overall experience was very positive at this hotel. The breakfast had excellent selections, and the food staff were very attentive. The bed was very comfortable-the most comfortable on our entire trip.Parking was safe and easy. We would recommend this hotel to others and will stay there again in the future.
Comfortable/clean bed and friendly staff. There was a strange noise (Air conditioner?) while we were sleeping. Also we wish the water bottles were provided in our room or the vending machine for drinks was available in the hotel building. We will stay at this hotel again.
The friendly, efficient and accommodating staff really made my stay enjoyable. I was able to check in early, store my luggage whilst taking a tour, and even borrow a usb charger from reception. The cleanliness of all areas of the hotel caught my eye and added to the comfortable stay. The rooftop swimming pool was nothing short of a treat!. Breakfast was terrific with a great variety of food available which to me is important. I will definitely stay here again when visiting the area. Thank you :-)
Your staff was helpful, accommodating and very friendly. The downside of this stay was the fact my bath tub didn’t work well. I couldn’t hold water for a bath. I called for help which was responded to immediately but issue couldn’t be fixed. Major bummer. The adjustment on the shower head seemed rusty. For some reason it was difficult to adjust at first; I feared breaking it. The toilet had an odd flush. It was very slow and I had to hold it to ensure it flushed. Lastly, I found a pizza box, with pizza in my mini fridge, upon my arrival. That means the room isn’t thoroughly cleaned or checked between stays. I reported it and it was promptly taken care of. Regardless, the room was visibly clean. No reason not to stay again but certainly deserving of more attention.
The front desk staff was extremely accommodating and polite especially Ana. The breakfast was superior, excellent tasting, high quality choices you will love, more than the usual complimentary breakfast hotels. Excellent free Wifi. Excellent location in the Valley, safe and close to Universal studios. The comfort of the rooms was amazing. My AC was noisy and didnt get as cool s o would have liked but I think it was only my room that had this issue, my friends room was cold; however, once I reported it they came out and repaired it right away. . Other than that everything exceeded my expectations
The person at the front desk was very personable and nice. She gave me free water and cookies and made sure I was sure and comfortable with the room I was getting. She made sure to give me a room with a great view and wished me luck while I was working in LA. I would definitely stay in this hotel again. Although, I did have trouble sleeping the first night, it had nothing to do with me room, probably just the fact that I was sleeping in a different bed. The pillows were so comfortable I wish that I could’ve taken them home.
Convenient to Universal Studios, the Burbank airport (but not too close), Pasadena, and the Rose Bowl. The employees were helpful and enabled an early check in by a couple hours. The only way for this hotel to improve is the same complaint I have about all Holiday Inns which is to go back to serving a breakfast that we order off a menu and gladly pay separately for No matter how hard they try to please everyone, the buffet breakfast of machine made pancakes, bad scrambled eggs, and bananas that are still green is not something I want to eat. We know its built into the price of the room and its probably good for families with young kids, but Id rather order off a menu..
This hotel was everything I expected and more. Clean, helpful staff and conveniently located next to the metro station. We encountered a minor issue when we first checked in. Our air conditioner was very noisy. The staff immediately moved us to a room across the hall which was excellent. All together this was an excellent excellent stay and I would return.
Cleanliness of lobby, breakfast area, entire room with a frig., microwave, super air conditioner, sleep quietness, spotless bathroom, most comfortable mattress, crisp color TV, and overall great facilities. Staff was very accommodating and service with a smile and attentiveness. One of the best Holiday Inns we have experienced. Thank You for allowing me to give credit to the entire staff at this facility. They deserve a good pat on the back!
The hotel was great. Staff were friendly and very helpful. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. The breakfast was good and plenty of choice. We accidently left a bag of souvenirs behind and 3 days later we called and were able to return to pick up our lost property. This was a wonderful feeling.
We stayed 4 nights at this Holiday Inn and it set the standard for what one would expect from a hotel nowadays. The whole property was very clean and well kept. The room was comfortable and nicely updated. The included breakfast had many options and tasted great. The location may be off-putting to some but it did not bother us. The elevators require scanning the room key to get up to room floors. It is close to many of the popular Hollywood attractions.
We booked a quick trip down to Hollywood to go to Universal Studios, what a great choice this hotel was. The rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable. Having a hotel close to the airport was a concern but once inside, we were pleasantly surprised, no airplanes were heard inside the facility. The pool was warm and inviting, even though the air was cool. Towels were available poolside, and the one time they were not on the towel rack, they were quickly restocked. Only one minor concern was the breakfast service, although there was plenty for all, I did not feel there was enough options for multiple food allergy sufferers. Pancakes, multiple egg options, multiple bread/grain options, oatmeal, ceareals - most had either egg, dairy or both, some even had nuts. I did see Soy milk as well as cows milk, but if your allergies include both you were out of luck on cereals. Being allergic to all dairy, eggs and nuts brought breakfast options down to sausage , fruit.
The air conditioning unit in our room was functioning incorrectly so our stay was on the warm side. Other then the hot room our stay was fantastic! The hotel was nice and clean, the kids loved the pool as did we. The breakfast was great with a nice variety of foods for everyone to pick. I would definitely stay here again.
Overall the hotel was in great condition, the room was clean and well maintained. I was only there for the night and it met my needs nicely. Location was close to the training I was attending. My only gripe was that the staff seemed to just be there. When you go to a hotel, you generally expect to see smiles and to be greeted in a positive way. Both check in and check out felt like the staff was just going through the motions. Outside of that I would recommend this hotel if it is near a location that youll be attending.
I did not expect the room or the general atmosphere and decor to be as nice as they were. With the exception of no room service or movie offerings, it was perfectly satisfying. The lobby was inviting, the room was very clean and comfortable, and the breakfast offerings exceeded my expectations. The staff was pleasant. I would have appreciated a little higher water pressure in the shower (perhaps a holdover from the recent but concluded drought) and a more powerful hairdryer. Otherwise, I was quite satisfied with experience.
We were pleased with our stay, location was very convenient. Hotel was clean beds comfortable, the only thing I would have l would say needs improvement is the breakfast options as well as the service. Food items would run out quickly and it would take a long time for it to be replenished.
I had a great experience and would highly recommend this hotel. The hotel is 7 minutes from Universal studios (our destination). Very convenient. We arrived around 1:30 and the friendly front desk lady was able to check us in right away. We even got a room on the 5th floor...that was a great relief! The room was nice and clean. The beds were comfortable and the curtains totally blocked any ray of light for a pleasant sleep. The pool was heated which felt good after a long day.Breakfast was abundant and they had a pancake maker...very cool, never seen one! There were many choices (Yogurts, boiled eggs, bacon, scrambled eggs, muffins, cinnamon rolls, bread, etc). This is the first time I stay at a Holiday Inn hotel and I was very impressed. I will definitely look at a holiday inn the next time I plan a trip.
This hotel is only a year and half old. Each area is so well maintained. Some reviews stated that the hotel is in a not so good area. We were there 6 days and felt very safe with no problems what so ever. The security of knowing that a key was needed to make the elevators work helped with security and peace of mind. The entry being in the back cut out any traffic issues. The underground parking was very safe and the elevator area was very well maintained. A security officer was on duty 24/7 and they were so pleasant and helpful. The breakfast was good and had a large variety of hot and cold foods. A guest should be able to be content with the food each day.I would highly recommend this hotel and will return when Im in the NoHo area. I had an issue with my room door lock and it was fixed immediately. Very close to all studios, Hollywood Walk of Fame and many other attractions.
When I first arrived at the hotel, I was taken aback by its location. This hotel is located on a busy street with auto shops and a dance club next door. However, once inside, the atmosphere is transformed to one of relaxation and tranquility. It takes me a while to be able to sleep in a hotel, but I was able to adjust to this Holiday Inn Express pretty quickly. Even when the club next door was in full swing, the noise level is not bad (you just hear a vague thumping from the music). The staff is very friendly and responsive and the breakfast choices are not bad. I wish the water service in the lobby is also available after hours, but that is a very minor gripe. Overall, our stay was pleasant and relaxing.
After a cruise we stayed here to go to Universal. This was a great location close to Hollywood Starts and Universal (10-12min Uber drive to both). The staff accommodated all our needs of checking in early and checking out later so the kids can nap. They were very polite and friendly. Maintenance staff in the buidling were very social and helpful! Especially to the kids. I loved the quiet neighbourhood. The pool area was super tidy. The hotel had a guest appreciation night and we got fresh tacos! They were scrumptious! The hotel is very clean and modern. We would return and recommend to others!
Loved it! It was safe quiet and comfortable. I was able to relax after long hospital shifts each night. Every morning their friendly staff would have a grab and go breakfast bag for me along with fresh fruits and delicious coffee. Thank you to the entire staff. Tiara and Jasón at the front desk for always being so attentive and friendly. Kindly giving me extra trash bags and water bottles when I would come back from work. Thank you to the building engineer Mr. Edgar for keeping all the elevators and hallways clean and disinfected. Special thank you to the housekeepers that would kindly supply me with fresh towels at my door. Emma and Ms. Gloria!!! I love you both. Each morning having a smile in your voices (the had their masks every time I would see them :) ) grabbing my breakfast bag and coffee and handing it over with such a kind and positive vibe. Wishing me a good shift at work , thanking me for being at the frontline each day. But also letting me know if there was anything else I needed or was missing to let them know and they’ll promptly get it for me or take it to my room. Truly I want to say thank you to the entire staff. It’s the little things that make even the most difficult times like now, a bit easier. Also, I recently noticed the “Thank you healthcare Workers” banner they have at the front of the hotel entrance. Yes..... that made me feel special and appreciated every time I saw the banner.
Every aspect of planning and experiencing my stay was pleasant. I was treated with patience and understanding when I called to make the reservation. Whenever I needed to leave a message the response was timely. I liked the changes in the breakfast area especially adding the oatmeal bar. All staff I encountered in the lobby or on the room floors or any where in the hotel was cheerful and pleasant. Housekeeping staff, custodian, desk staff, security personnel and Gloria in the breakfast area all treated every guests like special personal friends. When we called the desk for extra towels or with questions service was timely and gracious. Whenever I visit my son in LA or attend the annual womens conference I will stay at this hotel. The proximity to the Metro is convenient.
This hotel was totally unexpected in the way it is run. Very professional as some of the more upmarket ones. Staff were available and very helpful. The room was clean and such a comfortable bed that you dont want to get out.The inroom amenities are excellent and 24 hour tea and coffee facility are ideal. All in all, a well run, clean, comfortable hotel and good location for buses and Metro (Red line gets you there).Would recommend this hotel without reservation.
Clean comfortable glad the breakfast is back i was there 6 hours 225.00 ihg gold .. they take 425 as authorization on your credit card dont understand that ..they said it was for incidentalsNothing to buy . Soda machine no bar ???? Towel theft ?? Rigerator was load could not turn it off.
Everything was great. Could have been better on the rates being an essential worker other than that. The highlight was T’s professional attitude along with her beautiful pink hair. I love that she was creative and professional. I pray she stays covered in the blood of Jesus and let that beautiful light shine on all the guest because she is a beacon of hope and happiness. God bless. I pray for some points too! I love to get away on a free night.
The hotel is comfortable and quiet and located near some pretty big places. However that creates more of a problem when it come to parking. For starters the entry way is already small. Top this with there seemingly to always be a car blocking one half of it. This makes it extremely hard to navigate right after a busy intersection. I found myself having to circle around multiple time to get in. This can be a bit frustrating especially if you are a tourist. The parking is a bit tight. Im grateful that there was a basement however some of us have longer are larger vehicles and having such small spaces makes for more maneuvering. I want to feel like Im at a hotel not a apartment complex. Overall this just seems to be smaller than most holiday inn expresses i have experienced. This is a great location and is still an amazing place to stay regardless
Stayed 1 night, had a good experience. Pool area was nice but the view was not. Not the hotels fault but due to the location many back-lots were visible. But the patio furniture was great and it was warm.Room cleanliness, Staff, check-in, and check-out were all excellent.Breakfast was good in selection, but average in quality. Cheese-whiz on eggs, no thanks!Overall, I would stay again if in Hollywood
I stayed five nights at this hotel. I honestly cannot think of one bad thing to say. This hotel is SUPER clean, the front desk and housekeeping are outstanding and breakfast had a huge variety of choices.Guest Room: I own a large mattress store therefore I know a lot about mattresses. The mattresses at this hotel are not cheap, they are considered a Grade Level 4 which is the second to the highest you can get in grade levels. The mattresses and pillows are extremely comfortable. The room was spotless, furniture and TV all brand new and very much of a modern style. Sheets were of high quality and very comfortable as well.Security: The security in this hotel is great. You must have a hotel keycard to get into the hotel from the parking lot and again in the elevators to get to your room.Pool: Very very clean and great lounge chairs and towels.Check out: Quick and easy. No complaints.
Cons first: The room did not have adequate curtains, and in a bright city central location, this made the room much lighter than is ideal for a good nights sleep. The staff could have been a bit more knowledgeable and quicker to help their guests.Pros: The bed was comfortable, the rooms and hotel were clean, and there were a variety of options at breakfast. The staff was courteous. Overall, this was a very pleasant stay, and I would return if in the area again.
Great stay! Your staff is friendly, professional and accommodating. The rooms and public areas are sparkling clean and well kept.Security is tight and the night staff is alert. This was a must as we were traveling with kids.We were very impressed.Breakfast is hot, tasty with a lot of very nice options from pancakes, sausage patties, bacon and cheese omelets to oatmeal, yogurt and fresh fruit. We will definitely choose this property the next time we visit Universal Studios Hollywood.
I stayed here just one night but it gave me full satisfaction of the stay. Excellent service. Great amenities. We were on the 2nd floor right next to the gym and pool. The wide open reception welcomes guests very well. Breakfast facilities are good too. Very well located in North Hollywood. Room quite spacious as well. All in all 100% 5 Star.
We had high expectations for this economy property based on the online reviews and were not disappointed. The appearance of the property - both internal and external - is attractive. The decor in the lobby is contemporary and fresh. The staff was very friendly and accommodating although one front desk attendant seemed easily flustered. The rooms and beds were near the top end of the economy lodging scale. One suggestion: the hours for the fitness facility need to be extended. Although the security staff was happy to let me in at 6:30a, it seemed odd that the room wouldnt normally be opened until 8:00.Overall, I would recommend this property and be happy to stay here again.
Had a great stay here. We were in the area to visit friends and sight-see. The price of the room was fair, and the location was reasonable--located close to the Metro (which unfortunately doesnt go as many places as it should) and car rental locations, though at the very edge of the area where I felt comfortable walking at night. The room itself was lovely. There was a separate area away from the bed where my husband (an early riser) could read while I slept a bit longer, which was very nice. The only problem with the room itself was that the showerhead was mounted too high for even my average-height husband to reach to adjust it, so I certainly couldnt. Also, the breakfast was great--much better than your average continental breakfast. Just wish there was some cheese for the eggs and biscuits, and then it would be perfect!
Had a business meeting in the area and was referred to this hotel by a colleague. I was impressed with the friendliness of the staff, the cleanliness of the rooms and the comfort of the beds! I was able to sleep like a baby and I usually dont sleep well away from home. Free breakfast was definitely a bonus! Enjoyed it every morning for 4 days straight! I will stay here again for my next meeting!
The room A/C unit worked very well, better than any of that type of in-room unit Ive ever used. It wasnt too loud and worked the way it was supposed to, keeping the temp right - had good controls, too. The TV was larger and didnt distort the picture the way so many hotel TV systems do. It was a new, clean room and we enjoyed it. The staff was very friendly. The only thing I would find not to my liking was the bed. It was a bit too hard for me, but I was still able to sleep. The breakfast was good. There was some door slamming that seems to be a common source of noise for most hotels, something I would like to see changed in the industry. There was air traffic, but it wasnt disruptive..
Hubby and I came for a weekend getaway and this location is perfect! We did a day at Universal and a day in Hollywood. Less than 15 from both places. The hotel smells clean and fresh and the staff was so friendly. The bed and pillows felt like clouds at the end of both days being out 12 hours. Breakfast was great with a lot of choices. This will definitely be our go to hotel next visit to this area.
This new hotel was extremely clean and comfortable. There was plenty of off street parking and I really liked the rear lobby entrance so I didnt have to stop on the busy street. Although you had to pay an extra parking fee it was reasonable at $7/night. My room was very spacious and the bed was very comfortable. My only issues were the slow WiFi speed and the high price for the hotel. Otherwise it was a great hotel in a great area that felt very safe and comfortable.
Do not let the location make you hesitate. This hotel is very secure, extremely clean, well stocked and comfortable. Above all else, however, every single employee we had contact with was friendly, concerned with our needs, helpful, and just a pleasure to interact with. We were originally only going to stay one night, but decided to extend our stay. Because we already felt established with the personnel, and I was so impressed with how they all made us feel like family, I didnt hesitate to book our next few nights with this hotel. There are other, less expensive hotels/motels in the immediate area, and we have stayed in a few of them, but we will stay exclusively at this hotel for our future visits.
The room was very roomy and the bed comfortable. I slept very well the 3 nights I stayed. The staff was very friendly upon check-in/check-out and anytime I saw them. The breakfast selections had a lot of variety and the food was good too.I also like the amenities offered including the use of the pool and the fitness center.
For the most part, enjoyed our stay. However, just something missing that had to request. For the price around the area, breakfast is a plus. I requested late check in but didnt realized all hotel keys get deactivated at regular check-out so had to go to front desk to get back to our room. Overall, it was a good stay, would recommend and stay again. The fitness room could use some weights and bench if able to extend.
The new hotel in Burbank is quite lovely and comfortable. Everything is clean and well maintained and the staff is very friendly--everyone I met greeted me with a smile and a kind word. People seem to like working there, which is a positive indication of good management and working conditions. The breakfast was much more than I expected; access to the web was easy and convenient. I also appreciated the quiet corridors and surrounding areas; I had an undisturbed sleep--unusual for a large hotel!!. Thanks for the memorable stay. Ill be back. E. B.
Vanessa, Jeff and Michael went out of their way to accommodate my son as he was experiencing an allergic reaction to medication and needing to get home. Their compassion and willingness to go the extra mile to help from the other side of the country is treasured and never be forgotten. IHG has a superior team at this location!Shannon McAlister
When I first pulled up I was a little concerned with the area. It was late at night and drove around the block a few times and honestly I was a bit nervous. However it was late and I gave it a try. They had secured parking which was great. The staff was very helpful and immediately put me at ease once I voiced my concerns with the area. The lobby was secure and the secure (room key required) elevator access put me at additional ease. The rooms were very nice and spacious. They were very clean and inviting as well. I asked the front desk for menus for ordering delivery which they immediately provided. They even called me in the room to make sure it was okay for the delivery driver to come up to my room. I think they are doing a great job at this hotel location and would recommend it.
A nice hotel that literally puts out the red carpet for you as you walk into the lobby. A nice modern lobby and common areas. Plenty of parking under the building. Breakfast is good with hot food and good variety. The pool is not great and is missing a hot tub and is not stocked with towels so bring your own from the room. The area around it is not the best and on weekends the club with the crazy clown has loud music you can hear in your room so stay on the lower number side away from the 19 and 20 numbered rooms.
The hotel is very nice. The room had a small fridge, a microwave and a safe. The room was a decent size. Overall, it was a good value for the price. Although the immediate neighborhood is not so great, it is a short walk (about 1/3 mile) to the Red Line subway to Hollywood and downtown. And it is a little farther to the restaurants and small theaters of NoHo.The hotel says it has a fitness center, but it is cardio only - no weights or weight machines.
We stayed here because we couldn’t find a better value closer to Universal Studios. Upon first seeing the note from the street, we weren’t impressed. However, once inside and swing the room, it was fine. The heating unit in our room was a little loud, which made it hard to sleep. By the second night, we started getting used to it. Allow plenty of time for breakfast because if you get there 10-15 minutes before it closes, you don’t get much. We had a little misunderstanding from front desk clerk upon check-in, but worked it out professionally, and made it better. Also, $9 fee each night for parking. I think this should be included in your stay.
During my 3 day stay visit I was very impressed with the hotel and the customer service each staff member demonstrated. Our room was clean, access to business center, delicious breakfast each morning and relaxing pool area. Parking was secure and we felt safe with the many security measures they have in place. We were so impressed when the manager offered my daughter cinnamon rolls to take with us when we checked out. Thank you for a great stay while away from home. We enjoyed the time at your beautiful hotel.Next time we are in the are, we know where to stay!!!
We have stayed at this location on several occasions and really like it. Close to major attractions. Funky neighborhood but hotel us new and security top notch. Rooms clean and quiet. Nice morning breakfast. Best part is a very professional and courteous staff. Room rates reasonable too!
Before the trip, I was worried about the location of the hotel. After we arrived, its better than what we expected. The parking spaces is good and $7 for parking overnight is reasonable. The room is great and got everything we need. The breakfast area is contemporary and the food varieties are great. The staffs are all excellent and friendly. Well definitely come back!
Spent the holiday weekend for my birthday in LA. Wanted close, but not too close of a proximity to attractions such as Universal Studios and Hollywood. Random location, but not too far from things. Check in was easy. Parking was nice. Room was clean and comfortable. Daily breakfast buffet was clean, continually restocked, and had a nice variety of options. Any staff members I came across were nice.
We had a nice two-night stay in Burbank. Close to Universal Studios and Hollywood. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. There is an easy to access parking garage underneath the hotel and security to get in and out. There is a Denny’s across the street, which is convenient for late night food. The complimentary breakfast in the morning is great with lots of options. We really enjoyed our stay here.
Overall I’d recommend this hotel. The free breakfast was great. The rooms were very clean. The location is in a sketchy part of of town and on first visit the hotel is difficult to locate. There is a police station right up the road so you hear sirens going at all hours.
Great service from check-in to checkout. The room was clean as was all the common areas. My husband liked the tall shower head...and the attendant at breakfast was very attentive. The location of this hotel seems a bit questionable but we wanted to be close to Universal Studios and it was very reassuring when the hotel staff told us the parking garage is monitored 24/7! Would stay here again!!
The hotel was nice looking with a very friendly staff. Considering the LA traffic I found the ease of getting into and out of the parking lot very easy. The only criticism I had is that the egg dishes served at breakfast tasted like institutional food at best. There was a variety of alternative choices as hot and cold cereal, fruit and yogurts to choose from. The cinnamon rolls were excellent and up to the quality I have experienced at other Holiday Inn Expresses.I plan on returning to this hotel on future trips to LA.
Stayed one night for business, this hotel is new and I had not been here before. Front desk was very friendly, had to change my reservation and the hotel was very accommodating, especially Elaine at front desk. When I arrived, lobby is very nice and parking is convenient. Neighborhood looks rough but it isnt. Theres a Ralphs shopping center with plenty of food options close by, plus a couple of food options near hotel. Room was brand new, clean, modern, comfortable. Best of all, the internet connection was strong as can be, an issue if you are trying to work in your hotel (which I had a lot of work to do). I will stay here again.
Hotel itself was fantastic. Very clean, well kept, very nice overall. It is just hard to tell from maps and the pics online what kind of area it is in. The area isnt the best, so we were uncomfortable leaving our car, going down to the parking garagr under the hotel (this is a common enough issue that it is mentioned in the book in the room), or leaving the hotel for food close by. However, the hotel itself is great.
We had a very comfortable stay at the Holiday Inn Express Burbank from 28th September. Checking in and out was was very simple and did not take more than a few minutes. We were given a room away from the noise of the street. Restaurants were very conveniently located just outside the hotel and with 24 hour restaurants it was very convenient to go out for dinner at leisure. Hotel breakfast could have been better with more variety for the main course but it was very convenient to have breakfast in the hotel itself without rushing out early morning looking for a place to have breakfast. The tours we wanted to take were arranged by the hotel itself and this too would have been better if we had the choice of more than one, reputed tour operators.Cleanliness, atmosphere, friendliness of the staff, comfort, security all excellent though the staff could have been a bit more informed regarding nearby shopping areas etc.,Overall the experience and stay was excellent.
First, the hotel is one of the cleanest hotels I have been in for some time. It looks practically new. unfortunately, its location leaves a little to be desired. It is not a dangerous part of the city by any means, but also not the place I would want to take a late night stroll either. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. Plenty of outlets for electronics and chargers. Did not watch much TV, but it appeared to have all the major stations one would want to have. Lighting is a bit sporadic, but fills the room once you make the rounds. Staff is exceptionally helpful, considerate and will accommodate almost all your requests within reason. The two biggest drawbacks would be the breakfast and the parking. I was aware that parking was an extra $7 per day and had assumed it would be in an adjoining garage as such, but rather it is merely the lower level of the hotel. Why they need to charge you extra to park in their own lot I really dont know. As for the breakfast it is pleasantly average. The hot food was warm and the flavors slightly off from what I am used to from HIE.Overall, an exceptional hotel I would recommend to all staying anywhere near the area. Very comfortable and clean... and still worth while despite my two personal, minor grievances. Stay and relax, the staff will make your stay quite comfortable.
Wife and I enjoyed the convenience and overall quality. This was our fourth stay here since 2013 and we have come to regard it as our “go to” choice for its various features. We aren’t there for the sites, so we don’t mind the urban grittiness of the neighborhood ( think dirty streets NYC); however there is an interesting mix of residential with fascinating plants and the commercial enterprises. Our only complaint continues (as ever) to be the horribly thick bed pillows, real neck-killers! On prior visits, staff could not find anything better for us in the central supply. ( How hard can it be to maintain decent pillow choices?) Since we drove and were forewarned by past experience, we brought our own reliable pillows from home.

2022-01-25Well, the gentleman who checked us in wasn’t very welcoming and was little too stoic. We booked our 2 night hotel stay through a third party travel website and picked this hotel based on good reviews. We were disappointed to see our room was pretty outdated, with scuffed up furniture, dusts all over our headboard and A/C heating unit. We had to pretty much wipe down a lot of the room to remove the dust. We provide feedback to the third party site asking us how our check-in process and room was. We provided feedback that very first night and the third party app said that they would relay our feedback to them.We know that the feedback we provided through the third party app is pretty reliable since we provided feedback at another hotel and that hotel responded immediately. Needless to say, we heard nothing back from the hotel. The one positive experience was that the breakfast buffet was clean and offered a variety of menu choices. The one lady that was working there even offered a tray for me when I was taking my food up to the room. That was a nice gesture and I offered her a small tip.Other than the breakfast buffet, I don’t recommend staying here. The outside and lobby looks decent but the rooms are dated, old, and wasn’t very clean. Finally, the neighbor was a little shady as well, as we noticed the front entrance to the hotel was locked up and they had to buzz us in.

2022-03-08We have stayed here numerous times and have been very happy. The staff has always been polite and helpful, and even called our room after checking in to make sure everything was ok with our room. The rooms have always been clean and the beds are very comfortable. The area is maybe not the best, but the problems are caused by the government, not the hotel management or staff. With the required key entry to the front and elevator we have always felt completely safe staying here.

2022-02-07Excellent room and cleanliness. A little upset that a guest has to pay for parking! Whats up with that?I should have been more clear...I am well aware of the parking situation in Hollywood/LA but you are N. Hollywood and your parking is on-site/directly under the hotel. If you arent including parking in your guests stay like 98% of hotels in the United States, then you should at minimum, disclose that at reservation time.

2022-02-28Stayed two nights there during weekdays.Pros:1. the girl in the front desk was super nice and patient, treated us with respect.2. They have good coffee 24/7 next to the receptionCons:1. Hairs found in the bathtub and the overall hygiene of the room was not good. Pretty old room too.2. The male in front desk was not welcoming and respectful. I asked for new towels and he questioned us “did you request for room service? You need to fill out a form to get room service in the morning” first of all, no body told us that we need to fill out a form to get room service. Second, I was just requesting to change the old towels. He was giving me major attitudes in the phone call. Also, I went down to get my complimentary toothbrushes and toothpaste, he was acting up again.Won’t come back considering the aged room and staff’s attitude.

2022-04-29The room is clean and cozy, they have the shampoo, conditioner and body wash dispensers, not the small hotel bottles, but they have small bottle of mouthwash, and you can request tootbrush or toothpaste if you forgot to bring some. The pool is nice and clean on the 2nd floor. The room has a microwave already, that I didnt even request. I approved of the place 👍

2021-11-20The staff was friendly. Fairly decent neighborhood with several things to do within the vicinity. Beds were pretty comfortable. The rooms have a small fridge so just be aware if you plan on bringing a lot of food. Before you unpack make sure your air conditioner works especially on hot days. Mine was on the Fritz ever since I arrived and no never came to check it out.And I totally dont know whose idea it was to install the shower heads 8 ft high but if youre only 56 its kind of hard to adjust it so I hope you never have a short peoples convention there or you may have problems.

2022-05-09Positive: Clean and room was large. Negative: Hotel was great! We had issues with the room above us. Person in that room was STOMPING on their floor our ceiling for hours. We called front desk complained they talk to the person above us and they continued for hours. The next day we changed rooms.

2022-03-19Hotel was clean, comfotable and had nice TV. The pool area is clean and pretty. The drive to universal studios is easy 2.5 mile down a maim street. The metro link is an easy bock and a half and drops you off a short distance from the untrace about same walk from. Parking spot but the area around the metro had become a homeless encampment. There is a burrito place on the corner and Dennys across the street.I would stay at this hotel again. The only mark down is the area around the hotel not the hotel itself. Streets are busy, dirty with broken glass so not as pleasurable to walk but that is not a big deal for most. GrEAT hotel with friendly helpful staff close to universal at an affordable price.

2022-06-22Everything is average. The bed was too hard; the separate air conditioner was too loud. If you lived in a room near the street, okay, then you got double loud both with the air conditioner. But the service was excellent; the people were nice and friendly.
