Bad customer service at front desk. Reserved 4 nights with points, however on last day front desk told me I have to pay for last day. Some confusion happened, however front desk did not help or care to help. Next day, I talked to manager and she did not seem to care about bad customer expierience either. Never want to stay in a place where employees dont care about customer service.
If I could I would give this hotel no stars. I checked-into the hotel, went up to my room on April 23rd 2022 and it smelled odd. I became nauseated from the smell. My stomach did not feel well. Then, I asked for another room. I viewed it first to find out if it had the same smell and it did. I believe that there is mold in those two rooms. Also, the hallways had the same time of smell. I have smelled mold in some areas near the beach. Mold is very toxic to breath in. I hope that the hotel finds a specialist to investigate this situation, for the health of the employees and guests who stay there. I ended up not spending the night at this hotel, but another one.
Im very disappointed and utterly appalled someone would yell at a guest after inquiring why there was no call back from a manager, as requested, days after my keepsake item was stolen from my room. The front desk staff member who yelled at me was very offended by the term stolen, which is removing ones personal property without permission or my knowledge. This situation was resolved after receiving the item 2 days later by returning to the front desk and asking if the item was found. His verbally abusive interaction, with outlandish claims, is why I will never return! My stay here was an absolute nightmare!!! I don’t want to speak to anyone at this facility at all. I did not feel heard; the manager stated, This is very unusual for his team member. He continued with an email saying, My feedback will be used as a coaching opportunity. This property in Pasadena, CA, could not pay me to stay at this facility!!!VERBATIM INTERACTION WITH FRONT DESK TEAM MEMBER:He stated, “I can’t stand ‘you people’ and I am refusing to speak to you right now you need to get out!!!!!” He continued with, “What’s wrong with you saying ‘stolen’ haven’t you ever stayed at a high-rise hotel and know the maids just throw the linens off the bed.” He also stated, “I can’t stand you people saying things are stolen from your room and our maids get fired what’s wrong with you!” The team member was nothing shorter than verbally abusive. The insinuation I was trying to get someone fired and the outlandish claims could not be farther from the truth. My keepsake item needed to be cleaned, and I dont feel I should have to front the costs of the dry cleaning bill. He claimed I was incompetent and new to the traveling lifestyle when I had just checked out of their sister property in San Francisco after a two-month stay in February-March. I will never return! Do yourself a favor and dont stay here!
Positive: There isnt much to say. Negative: Had an elderly person with us and the elevetor closest to their room was out of service. Asked to be moved closer to the operating elevator the reply was we dont have any vacancies. Were there on Wednesday, so its not logical they dont any rooms.
Forget all the other reviews and listen to me!Cleanliness was on point!! I’m very picky and when I say that the room was impeccable….I mean it! The bed was so comfortable and the bathroom was spacious. The staff were so sweet and helpful. The breakfast was amazing and we never had an issue finding parking .The hotel is not in a “sketchy” area and the people saying that are probably rac…nvm. You can’t control people being loud in the hallways or acting like savages when the breakfast comes out. However, none of those things changed my view on the hotel. So many amazing stores in the area. Varda is right down the street.I highly recommend this hotel. It’s perfect on the pockets and they don’t cut corners.
My husband and I have stayed at this location before, and when the drinks started flowing at his holiday party I knew it was best for us to book a room at a local hotel. Immediately I jumped on IHG and booked a room at this hotel knowing the property is well maintained and the rooms are always clean. Fortunately for us, there was a room available and our stay was perfect. Thank you!
This location really went above and beyond to make sure our stay was comfortable. When I had a bit of an issue with my room, without batting an eye the day manager fixed it and improved the quality of my stay immensely. Clean rooms and facilities. Handy laundry room. Friendly & helpful staff. We will definitely stay again if we return to Pasadena. Thank you to the team!P.s. great breakfast for an Inn
Room and bath room are clean in general. But air conditioner was quite loud when it turned on at night. Rooms are also not sound proved. We could hear people staying in the next door and rooms upstairs. When we arrived at the hotel at around 9PM, there were many people in the parking lot. It looked like some sort of gathering or party. Not sure if those people are hotel guests. The hotel shares a parking lot with other business. The breakfast offers hot food, but it ran out of food frequently even when half of the restaurant was empty. The lady worked hard to keep up, but as soon as items were refilled, they ran out.
Was a comfortable room and a great location. The views from my window of the houses and mountains is very pretty. The breakfast sounds amazing but Im really bad with waking up early so I missed it! I also didnt go check out the rooftop lounge which Im sure had equally awesome views. Im sure they told me, but I was spaced out.Mostly, the service here was excellent. Maria on the night shift went above and beyond to help me find the right room. She was very friendly and made phone calls to help me out. Shes a great asset to the company! The little things go a long way, such as being told to scan my room key to use the elevator. I had stayed at a much fancier, but annoying, hotel and they didnt tell me that. So this other guest and I are sitting there forever thinking the elevator didnt work.At Holiday Inn Express, Maria explained all important details upfront and told me the good late night places to eat nearby.
Great check in and out process. The room was clean and had all the necessary for my stay, definitely better than what I expected. Breakfast buffet had the basic needed options; although I found a station out of food, the saltar acted quickly and solved the problem. Sleep quality was the only issue for me, between neighbors smoking in the balcony and trucks parked in front of the room with their engines running for long times during sleeping ours.
Positive: I liked the close proximity to local attractions like the Huntington Library and places to eat. Also, that the staff was very friendly and the free breakfast was a great way to start the day. Negative: I did not like that when I requested housekeeping some essentials were not restocked. For example, the toilet paper and not enough towels for a group of 4.
Location was very good for our SGV visit. The room was clean but the beds were not good at all. The sofabed was really bad. Ended up sleeping on the floor. The king size was also not that comfortable. its too soft.It nice for the staff to call and upgrade our room. But if had known how uncomfortable the soft bed was I wouldve stayed with 2 beds instead. Also there seemed to be other larger rooms and not sure if they were available. Wouldve been nice to be informed and let us decide what room to choose.Breakfast was as expected but there danish were not refilled and other shelves were empty.
I don’t know why I didn’t originally book here! I booked a hotel down the street that had really nice pictures and good reviews. I felt extremely catfished! The worst hotel I’ve ever been too! I checked out right away and drove down to the holiday inn and booked a room while sitting in the parking lot! When I checked in I felt like I literally walked into the doors to heaven! The staff were so nice I felt so safe the room was huge and so clean and comfortable! The pool was always empty which allowed us to swim all by ourselves. Beds were extremely comfortable. Breakfast was included which was nice, you needed a key to unlock all doors which made us feel so safe! Couldn’t have asked for a better stay!
Great stay for 1 night. Breakfast was good and accommodating. Parking could have been better only because we were in a full size truck , the parking structure was a tight fit. I would recommend this hotel to friends and family . We also enjoyed the convenience of being close to the freeway
This hotel is set back from Colorado Avenue away from road noise. It is a short drive to Pasadena Old Town. An Uber would work well from here because parking in Old Town is scarce. Short drive to Santa Anita Race track. King suite has a separate sitting room and TV set. The staff was friendly and helpful. Parking is free. The hotel is exceptionally clean and well kept.Only down side was the air conditioner was a bit loud. Cool enough at night to turn it off.
I take care of cancer patients for a living . Sometimes I take the patients with me. Its easier that way .I had just spent 3 solid weeks with one patient. On call at their home 24/7. Barely slept barely ate.I needed a good rest and a couple of good meals. I booked a room for 3 people with two beds. Me my patient and whichever nurse the agency sent over. My client has a caseworker and in home supportive services worker.the ihss worker does his laundry and administers his insulin.daily. Hotel management said I had too many people. Would not even consider my clients very advanced age or medical condition. They threw us out.!!! Sorry holiday inn you SUCK.
We stopped here for the night on the way to Ontario Airport from Downtown LA. Perfect for what we needed- familiar layout, friendly staff, and convenient location. Wish there was a bit more variety for breakfast but they had food available. Very clean rooms, most employees were masked and if not masked, employees were behind plexiglass plates. Lots of cleaning going on so we felt safe.
We stayed two nights, visited family and went to Universal Studios which was about a 30 min drive straight up Hwy 134. Hotel is clean, low priced, free breakfast, free parking. Only reason 3 stars for the room is because it felt small. There was just enough space to get around the two full size beds. I guess we expected queen beds and maybe a chair or pullout sofa. Three stars also for breakfast. The staff was excellent and attentive, only it seemed there were limited options due to covid restrictions and they had to serve it to you. The buffet was blocked off for the attendants only. Good system considering the restrictions. Variety and availability will probably be back up to 4-5 stars once Cali opens back up. There is a nIce family-run Sushi restaurant in the attached building. Also, there is a nail salon in same complex and they were able to get me in for a quick pedi as a walk-in before our family event. Target was only a couple blocks away and we stocked up on bottled water and snacks. Reservations were required for the pool. I hope they continue this practice beyond covid restrictions because the pool is small and it’s really nice to feel like your family has some privacy. I’ve stayed here before and will stay again. It is a good value.
This was our first time staying at this hotel and I would definitely stay there again. Each member of the staff with whom we interacted was friendly and professional. The property throughout was very clean and they offered many hand sanitizer stations and other health safeguards during the pandemic. The room was very clean and comfortable.
Clean and comfortable room. I booked a king suite and it was available for an early check in. The room did smell a bit of cleaning fluid, but thats understandable given COVID. Low water pressure on the top floor makes the shower take long to heat up. Other than that, a nice room for the price.
Our first night here was great. Great room. Way decent morning breakfast. Our second night the following weekend was TERRIBLE.We barely got any sleep because the people next to us were yelling, fighting, partying. There were no rooms for us to switch to. The front desk gave them a couple warnings that did nothing. Our non-smoking room smelt like cigarettes and sewer. They gave us a whopping $20 off the room. We didnt eat breakfast in the morning and couldnt wait to leave. Our whole hallway was partying and there was a lot of people partying like it is a local hang out for trash. Would NOT stay again because youre not guaranteed to have a great stay like they claim.
You had to drive through the shopping plaza to get to this hotel. Not in an ideal area, but it is along the strip with the other hotel franchise chains. Hotel was clean with friendly staff. I felt comfortable walking to my car. The hotel room walls are extremely thin. We can hear all the conversations around us and can also hear them as we walk through the hallway to our room. We can even hear all the foot steps and movements from the room above. Enjoyed the pool through the reservation process. No towels in the pool area so we had to get them from the front desk.
We were there for 4 nights as my daughter was filming nearby. The room was very clean, comfortable beds and awesome pillows!! The pick up breakfast was great. The eggs really surprised me, they were delicious!! I was able to work during the day as the wifi was great. The staff was excellent, professional and always had a smile. I would stay here again.
Happy with the Pasadena Holiday Inn Express hotel. Excellent location, near freeways, near the arboretum and near good restaurants. Not fancy but clean and comfortable. Breakfast was great - breakfast sandwiches, sausages/bacon, scrambled eggs, yogurt (Chobani), fruit and a variety of other items. Courteous and fast service. Swam in the pool which was a great temperature, clean and not chlorine-y. Enjoyed our stay. Will stay there next time were in LA/Pasadena.
We visited our daughter who is a college student nearby. We always stay at this place. This hotel has nice clean, modern rooms in the newer track. I always ask to stay there. Service and rates are very good. The only downside is that they do not have electric car chargers which would be a great plus for us.
Great value for the price. We choose this hotel as it was 25min drive from Universal studios and 5min from Old Pasadena. We stayed at a King’s bedroom, which was very comfortable and spacious. Reservations for pool, spa and gym worked according to covid protocols and the breakfast options were really good considering the pandemic constraints.
I realized I had gotten bed bugs when I was on my flight home. I called the hotel and spoke with the desk clerk and she said she would have the manager call me. I never received a call back so I called again and one of the managers answered. They didnt see too concerned. I was told the room was occupied and could not be checked for bedbugs. Really?!?! This was the only place I stayed the entire time we were in California. Why isnt anyone concerned?!?! I was horrified and washed all of my clothes in hot water (some were ruined) and threw away my suitcase.
I would sincerely recommend this hotel ! We had flown from MS and we’re tired and weary... the girl behind the desk was so friendly and accommodating. I told my husband when we were in our room that it was a real boost to have a friendly check-in. Sometimes you come in and you feel like you’re too tired to be friendly but when you face a nice accommodating person it’s so much easier. In the morning the man serving coffee and breakfast was also very friendly and a good start to the day!! The morale was great. Thanks to you as the hotel staff who made our stay so pleasant.
I must admit, I didnt expect the level of good service I received at this location, mostly due to the neighborhood. But I was pleasantly surprised. Great staff, and my stay has been quiet and peaceful (although Im on the top floor). Parking is a bit tricky, as the spaces are fairly narrow, but thats really my only complaint.
Hotel does a nice job on cleanliness and social distancing. Hot breakfast available (served by staff). Basic but nice. Exceptional staff-they really make the stay nice.. Parking in lot or garage. Rooms were clean (although I would like to see more attention on the carpet and some updates done). Reasonable lighting and outlet. Pool open with reservations.
Hotel should inform you the Newer rooms are in a whole separate building closer to the street totally away from front desk, breakfast area and exercise room. Did not appear to be a very safe area of town. The room smelled like wet dog even though it was a pet free hotel. The second room they tried to move us to smelled like someone had been smoking in it even though it was a smoke free hotel!
Check in/check out was very fast and smooth. The front desk staff were EXTREMELY attentive and friendly. Annie in particular was amazing. We had a noise issue on the first night that the team promptly corrected. The rooms were clean, well-maintained, and the wifi signal was strong. However, the doors slammed shut, so its possible to hear other guests entering/exiting their rooms. They have a great COVID-modified breakfast service where you fill out your order on a paper slip to be prepared. The fitness center and pool were also open, however, by appointment only. Generally, it was not at all difficult to find open time slots for either. They also provide complementary covered parking.I had a very relaxing stay here.
Everything was very nice in our room. The only major complaint we had was not being able to turn a/c down but it was at 74° but I have problems with heat and since it was very hot and muggy I would have liked to put it at 70° for sleeping.Breakfast had a good variety but I must admit that our group all agreed the scrambled eggs had way to much salt to eat yhem.
There was a dirty towel in the restroom. The staff was extremely rude and incompetent. I repeatedly asked to confirm we were getting a suite because I was in town for a funeral and extremely physically and emotionally exhausted. It was extremely frustrating and inconvenient to be sent to the wrong room with sleeping toddler in arms and luggage after being assured it was a suite. When I went back down and expressed my frustration and to let them know about the mistake the receptionist and the manager were extremely rude.
We stayed here for a week while visiting family close by. I highly recommend this hotel for two very good reasons. One, the staff (girls at front reception) were absolutely the best Ive ever encountered while staying at a motel/hotel. Every one of them would give a big smile while we came and went throughout the day. Anything we needed was serviced with a smile. That means a lot - first impressions! We brought our grand daughter to the pool and upon leaving she was given a balloon and attention(didnt have to take the time to do that for her).2nd, rooms were clean and neat (carpet could use updating) and housekeeping and the ladies who served breakfast were always pleasant. Lucky to have found this place, Will be back at Xmas!!!
The staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean and neat. The bed sheets smell great! Overall the place is good and well kept but I just have not been able to sleep well here. The walls are very thin. You can hear EVERYTHING that’s going on outside your room. At one point I think my room was close to the laundry room because my bed was shaking. I wish the breakfast was longer. I missed breakfast on my second stay and was promised a to-go bag but never got it.
Checking was easy, necessary deposits were up front no hidden charges. Upon entering room noticed shower curtain was torn contacted front desk they immediately replaced it everything if I needed more towels or blanket it was done immediately very great customer service would stay there again.
The hotel is conveniently located on Colorado boulevard near the 210 and several major stores/businesses. The lobby is clean and nicely decorated and the staff is kind and attentive. My mom and I enjoyed our stay overall, and we liked the convenience of having a Keurig machine, microwave, and mini fridge in the room. I would like it more if they had firmer pillows and bigger bath towels. Also, the conditioner dispenser in the shower was barely filled and I couldnt get any to come out when I pumped the dispenser, many times! A wider variety of entertainment options on the TV would be nice too, instead of just DirecTV. Consider adding internet streaming like Netflix or Hulu or Disney !
This place is very convenient to go to places like church , stores and restaurants. The breakfast is good. I love their cinnamon muffins . The only down thing is that the housekeeping. Basically the only thing they did was throw the trash from the can . No towels were replaces and bed wasnt made at all. I even had to call the front desk if theyll clean the room. They say its past 4pm so not the cleaning that i was expecting. Mind u i had to stay their 2 nights . I dnt think i will ever stay here again when i go visit my family in LA.
Overall hotel was great, 2 minor things to observe:- there was no safe in room to keep valuables. This must be a must in every hotel now days.- due to your restrictions, you did not make my bed unless I requested, that doesn’t make sense to me. I understand COVID restrictions but use your precautions as gloves and mask and you are ok.Otherwise breakfast and parking was a huge plus.Overall good expirience.
When we drived up to the hotel, I was not surprised by its location due to the price we paid. It was a cheaper option, but not dirty-motel cheap. It was flush with other businesses and the parking lot was a bit crowded. However, once you step inside the hotel, you realize what a deal you got. The staff were all around amazing from the start to the end. They were very attentive but left you alone if you wanted them to. We were told that our room was in the recently renovated wing. When we got to our room, we were pleasantly surprised by updated and modern amenities. It definitely exceeded our expectations when compared to the price we paid. The bed was so comfy, along with the pillows. Our wifi was great. The TV was a great quality. There were plenty of outlets. The shower had nice hot water and was really clean. The only thing I could say they could improve was the breakfast, but it was of average quality for a complimentary breakfast so it was nothing to complain about. If I ever come back to Pasadena again, I will surely stay here.
I have stayed at many Holiday Inn Express properties and most provide a consistent quality standard. While this wasnt a bad property, it did not meet my usual expectation for the chain. Pros: Lobby and breakfast area looked newly remodeled and were very nice. Staff was also very friendly and check in and checkout was efficient. The bed was comfortable and room was clean. Cons: The room was dark and lighting terrible. Halls were also dark. The gym equipement was very limited and needs to be replaced. Buttons broken, features not operating. Gym was also very small. You also needed to go outside to get to the gym. The pool area was not very inviting and was basically in the parking lot with a cement wall seperating it. Bottom line - This hotel is fine for a night or two as long as the fitness center and pool arent important to you. However, you can probably find a nicer property for about the same price.
Comfortable, cozy, quiet, easy freeway access. Staff is beyond amazing and accommodating. Unlimited coffee, toiletries are even luxurious. Pool, laundry facilities and breakfast are available too. Covid mandated requirements in place and practiced. I would definitely recommend to everyone.
I’ve always stayed at this location every time when I’m in Pasadena. I liked how we had a microwave in our room that we never had previously. I miss their buffet breakfast service though and being able to enjoy eating breakfast at the dining hall. Other than that I’m completely satisfied with my stay.
This is an excellent hotel for the price. We would stay here again. The only issue we had during our stay was lack of a second roll of toilet paper in the room. I went to the front desk to get some and noticed that other rooms must have had the same issues because there were some rolls setting outside their doors like hotel staff dropped some off.
The front desk staff was very nice. I have no problem with the staff. My main issues were with whoever was staying next door to me, and the internet. The couple staying in the room next to mine argued loudly at 2 am one night...and then a few hours later, you can hear them making up. I stayed for 3 nights, and this happened during most of my stay. Additionally, I could not get connected to the internet. I tried using the login method originally told to me, which didnt work. Then, I went downstairs and told the front desk staff member who was there at the time that I was having issues. They gave me an access code, which still didnt work. So I went the whole weekend I was there without internet, which meant I couldnt do my homework for school. If I had to come for a last-minute trip, I would stay here again. Otherwise, I would look elsewhere first.
Very clean!! Good place to say in a quiet part of Pasadena. Walls a little thin but nothing too serious to be mad at. Beds are so so...not to comfy but they redeemed their selves with the breakfast. Because of the pandemic, breakfast was grab and go. You fill out a slip and give it to the attendant who puts everything on a tray for you. Breakfast consisted of hot and cold cereal, muffins, Danishes, scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, croissant breakfast sandwiches, coffee, juice, yogurts, fruit, and more. Great breakfast! I would definitely recommend this place. Parking is safe and secure. We had a good stay for the price.
Stayed here last week. David helped with reservations. He has great customer service. He answered all my questions. Went above and beyond. Thank you Annie again. Even though you can’t see the smiles you can tell staff are smiling and happy to help. I like how they make breakfast safe. They serve you and they are always wearing gloves. With covid going on I seemed safe staying here. Staff always sanitizing areas. Everything seemed clean. Patty was nice to get me extra towels. I had no complaints and I would stay here again.
Ok Hotel. Good Location for East Pasadena Area.Positives...Reasonable Room Rate for Pasadena area hotel. Fitness Center Ok, Reservations To Use as we move out of COVID blues. Small but nice pool (4 reservations?). Doing individually prepped morning breakfast starts 6am weekdays, 7am weekends (would like to see that at 6am every day...better for early risers).Front Desk and Breakfast staff very nice. Points or Snack/Water for IHG rewards members. Covered Parking. Feels pretty safe secure. No street noise issues with our room. Cleanliness good. A/C ok. Location very good, Starbucks, Fast Food places short distance. Planet Fitness 10 minutes from Hotel. Quick drive to downtown Pasadena on weekends. Good bathroom counter space. Shower pressure ok. Lobby ok but limited seating available post COVID.Negatives...Rooms Small, Beds Full Size Not Queens, Thin Walls hear noise, conversations from nearby rooms. Bed comfort fair. Not many electrical plugs. Bathroom hot, ventilation poor in bathrooms.
Lobby nicely decorated for the holidays, staff made check in / out easy. Great location off 210. Nice rooms, relatively quiet. a/c / heater generates enough white noise to block out most adjacent rooms.dining area can be quite crowded, but theres food coming out frequently and the one staff person was working hard to clean.the parking lot needs to be repainted because those spots are tight. also its difficult to know what areas are available for hotel parking since it is a shared lot. would be great if that was addressed.
I was disappointed that the room was not vacuumed and the maid never gave us toiletPaper or tissues. We had to ask for them and we didn’t get any. we also had a cockroach in the room. We told the front desk staff but as to my knowledge nothing was done. I am a IHG member and have been for a while. I will never stay or recommend this hotel. The staff was cordial and cleaned the Lobby but as to my room it Was not cleaned. No bed made or floors vacuumed just clean towels. For 6 nights
This hotel is conveniently located just off the 210 freeway, however, there was no excessive traffic noise. There is shopping such as drugstore and Sprouts nearby. The hotel was modern and very clean, the bed comfortable, the room fairly spacious. Super friendly staff. Breakfast included many options and was served in a nice, airy area just off the lobby.I can’t complain about anything at all and would recommend, and stay again.
This was my second stay at this Express. The first was in the new wing, which was a SPACIOUS single king. This also looked like a brand new room, completely different than any previous HI Express room I have seen. This stay, I was (I think upgraded) to a suite in the original building. This room included a sofa, and two televisions. The room looks a bit dark, but I can live with that, to have a sofa and coffee table in the living room. The bed was typical HI Express, which is to say, very nice. The mattress was quite comfy, and with a choice of soft, or firm pillows, you are likely to have a good nights sleep. The bath is large enough for peak efficiency, and in addition to the permanently-fixed shampoo, conditioner and body gel in the tub-shower, this property includes designer lotion and mouthwash--the latter, a really nice touch if you have to be out and about for a long day. Breakfast included a choice of scrambled eggs OR a cheese omelette, a choice of turkey sausage or bacon, biscuits and gravy plus the usual bread, bagels etc, with cold cereal and yogurt. Add in low-fat or skim milk and FOUR juice choice (incuding guava!), and you should find something to your liking--unless you are unreasonable. I really find plenty to like at this property, more than at even pricier hotels. Even if it is a few miles out of your way, consider staying here.
I came in kind of late without a reservation. The front desk staff was more than willing to make sure I got a room of my liking (they were not full). The room was of the old type and I prefer that to the newly remodeled ones with hard, cold floors and jail-cell feeling (not that Ive ever been in jail...)It was strangely quiet for a hotel with a full parking lot and I enjoyed that very much.Slept very comfortably and all in all it was one of the most positive Holiday Inn Express stays Ive had. Great staff, room and breakfast.
Beautiful hotel, very clean and well kept. Nice and quiet with good parking. Had one of the best and most complete hotel breakfasts anywhere Ive been. The staff was friendly and efficient. The only issue I found was that the lighting in the room was terrible, a lamp with one LED bulb between two beds is not acceptable to read a book, newspaper or do a crossword puzzle.
The staff are friendly and efficient. I would stay there again. The only complaint I have is the bathroom ventilation is poor, and one of the pillows had a questionable stain. Hoping that room was just a fluke, so I’m willing to stay there again to give it another try.
The room was large, comfortable and clean. It was mostly quiet. The breakfast choices were good, but the eggs were tastless and greasy. They had a pancake maker that everyone seemed to enjoy! The front desk staff was pleasant, but did not offer me a final bill when I checked out. I thought it would be emailed, but so far, I havent received it. I guess I should have asked! Be careful when you book online. Any mistakes can be costly!
From the moment you check in to the moment you leave, expect that your needs and concerns will be attended to by a professional and courteous staff. The rooms are clean and comfortable, breakfast offers a nice variety, and is plentiful. In all, this hotel delivers on its promise to offer a nice place to stay, whether for business or pleasure. It should not be overlooked, especially if you like a good value for your dollar!
Made me pay for my rooms with cash and deposit at registration. I had already paid for the rooms on line. When I called and talked to front desk after seeing the charge on my credit card account she was very rude and would not help me with the problem. I asked to speak to her supervisor she said they wont be in until 2:00 pm and then she hung up on me. Unacceptable behavior.
After reading the reviews a few caught my eye about the food and bad neighborhood, since I was traveling alone with my grandkids I was literally going to switch my reservation to another nearby hotel however I did not and Im glad I didnt. I felt completely safe, the neighborhood was not as bad as someone had made it seem. The key card was needed to enter the outside elevator and gate which made me feel safe. The food was awesome. The food was restocked every few minutes and there was a great variety. It was the perfect breakfast. The price was right and my stay here was great!!!
The facility is very clean from lobby, dining area, room to bathrooms. Did not use the pool and hot tub, but would have if I had more time. The bed was very comfortable. There was a microwave, refrigerator, and a small sink in the room. Parking is very easy and free. Front desk staff were friendly. Breakfast was good. Would stay again.
I stayed to rest while I was visiting. Bed was comfortable and slept well and I didnt hear any noise from outside, was able to open a window to get air in but closed it as I was bothered by the noise and was amazed that I couldnt hear it when I closed the window. Great location.
Bed was TOO HIGH. needs to be at a height that someone in a wheelchair or a mobility scooter can transfer to easily. good sized bathroom, but sink too high and toilet seat needs to be regularly tightened so people can transfer. handicapped rooms need two beds. not everyone wants to, or can sleep with travel companions. not all disabled people travel with a companion.hotel was close to everything I wanted to see and do. area seemed ok, safe. breakfast was good, service was good.
The bench and ironing board in the room had stains and there was trash left behind. The faucet in the bathroom had hard water buildup and mildew where the water comes out, and the bed was extremely uncomfortable. It was very firm and felt more like sleeping on a yoga mat on the floor.
Stayed here with my girlfriend for two nights for my brothers wedding. The overall stay was great, the staff was great and very welcoming. We made use of the breakfast but not the fitness center or the pool. The location made me a little skeptical for our car in the parking lot. The hotel is located at walking distance from some restaurants, that was nice. Overall a great stay as expected from Holiday Inn.
Overall this was a good midrange hotel. We really just needed a place to sleep and relax that was within driving distance to LA. Because of the holiday all prices were increased in LA so this hotel gave us a reasonable price. Rooms were clean with microwave and fridge. There is a pool and small jacuzzi. Parking spaces both outside and inside parking structure are pretty narrow but parking is free.
Two different hotels under one roof, sort of. Let me explain.First, after driving past the place twice (the sign cleverly hidden by trees which need to be pruned), I pulled into the HI Express lot, which also serves a small strip center running from the older building to the newer building. The photo on the hotel website, features photos of the very distinctive OLD building, which is nowhere near the street. So, if you dont see the sign, you certainly wont see the hotel.I was given a room in the newer building, which is above the strip center, complete with a separate elevator, accessible from the parking lot, with your room key. The elevator takes you to a wide rooftop patio, and a turn to the right takes you to the old building, a turn left to the new building. Once inside, newer HI Ex carpeting covers the hall, and I ventured to my room at the end of the hall, which may have been a corner king (an upgrade). To say the room was spacious, is an understatement. From door to carpet is a good eight feet of brick flooring, serving no purpose other than to give the room an airy feeling, and a small corner table for charging phones. The room itself is standard Holiday Inn Express, which is not a bad thing. A microwave sits on a shelf atop the stainless-steel clad mini-fridge, next to the very comfy bed is a desk with more than ample space for work, and a really cool desk lamp, with a suitcase shelf to the side. A reasonably nice chair flanks the other side of the bed. Lights above the entrance hall, on the desk and above and on either side of the bed provide all the illumination you could want. If you want natural light, just pull the chain on the stylish, euro-style blinds. I want these blinds! The narrow bath features plenty of vanity space, and a fairly roomy shower with designer shampoo, conditioner and body wash in a permanently-mounted dispenser. Here lies one of the few minor annoyances--the bathroom door pulls shut on its own, so, in order to cool it down using the rooms powerful A/C, you have to prop it open. The other minor carp, is the television, which is DirecTV-equipped, but not standard DirecTV, so your memory of channels at home wont help you. The channel guide is on channel 2, and scrolls at its own leisurely pace. There is nothing worthwhile on Sunday night TV anyway, including the four HBO channels, so it was no big deal. Breakfast was served in a dining area in the old building, and was a little more crowded than the usual HI Express, but featured a pancake maker, egg or egg white omelets, sausage AND bacon, plus the usual cereal and bread/bagel/muffin offerings. In addition, this is the first hotel offering USA Today, in ages (not surprising since USA Today, is more of a news pamphlet, than news paper--and $2.00!)I was impressed enough, that I wish I had more than seven hours to spend in the room.
Stayed here for a night and the staff was so helpful finding my member status since my battery died on the cell and did not have my member number handy, got there a bit late at night and afraid there was no rooms, fortunately there was a room available and decided to spend the night there and loved it. Hotel was super clean both inside and out.
I liked the hotel when I pulled up to it having ample parking spaces. Entering the building the smell was good. The hotel was very clean with welcome accommodations. The staff was kind and professional. The Room was great. Comfortable bed with great linens and pillows. Great Towels and offered additional items ( complimentary ) if I forgot them. Toothbrush, razor, toothpaste, shaving cream, etc.... Great gesture. I was not going to try the breakfast, but my wife insisted I have coffee. After trying her eggs, I decided not go go out for Breakfast and enjoyed what was there. Good selection.
Front desk staff was very polite and helpful. From first impressions the lobby was clean and inviting. The room was very clean and comfortable. Hotel is in a great location with easy access to the freeway. The complimentary breakfast was fantastic. It provided a large variety of different breakfast items that you would not expect from a complimentary breakfast. Overall we had a wonderful stay.
I would first off like to say, I am truly thankful for the staff here at the holiday Inn. All of the staff at front desk are very helpful and truly caring and make me feel welcome! Also to the housekeeping for keeping up with cleanliness and maintenance for making sure my room AC was working, really fast and on top of it. Thank you!
My husband and I stayed over Christmas week. It was a wonderful experience. Good breakfast and excellent customer service provided by David. Even though we came in a day early, he made sure we were able to stay in same room throughout our stay . Cleaning and breakfast staff were also excellent
The staff at this hotel are nice and amazing, however when I showered I noticed so much hair in the shower and even worse, one of my towels was filled with black, curly hair. I took the towel down to the first desk and told David. As a spirie elite I was very disappointed!
My spouse and I really enjoyed our stay! The staff was very friendly and quite helpful when we asked for recommendations on where to have dinner. They gave us a variety of choices to choose from. I might also add, the breakfast buffet was delicious! It offered a variety of breakfast foods, coffee and orange juice. We would definitely stay here again!
Everything and everybody are easy and wonderful to deal with. I do hope that they adjust breakfast time a little bit early for early risers and for those who need to leave for work early. Add a more hot item options for breakfast will be a plus as well. Overall, free parking and good access to neighboring shops and restaurants.
This hotel has recently has a renovation over the retail spaces, but unfortunately those fresh beautiful rooms suffer from the noise generated by rooftop HVAC/Refrigeration equipment running all night. At least these rooms have very comfortable mattresses from which you can stare at the ceiling all night. The room was great; very clean, very comfortable. Did I call the desk to complain about the noise? No, why bother, I know theres nothing that the night desk clerk can do. Breakfast was OK, but not great-- paying a little closer attention would go a long way. better coffee perhaps? Yes, Id stay here again, but Id request a room in the older, unrenovated but quieter older section of the hotel. Also, Park in the garage and avoid the frustration of nitwits parking 3 inches away from both sides of your car and having to climb in through the hatchback. People suck.
My stay here was great! I stayed in a suite and felt right at home the entire time. The staff was very helpful and friendly. I loved the complimentary water at the front desk and the convenience of the breakfast area.I was a little unimpressed upon arrival that this location was apart of a strip mall with construction going on, but the staff and clean, modern facility inside quickly overshadows that. Housekeeping did a wonderful job. They were constantly cleaning common areas and obviously care about their work. I would definitely stay at this location again. The express checkout was greatly appreciated as it saved time.
No good food nearby. Sushi place in same strip mall as hotel was not good. Staff was great. Room was Average. Shower curtain rod was broken allowing water to flood the bathroom. A bit noisy. Parking very small. Hot breakfast was terrible. I usually stay at the Holiday Inn in El Monte and drive into downtown LA in the early morning. I tried this one as Pasadena is closer. But the freeways are smaller and much slower into LA and the Pasadena Holiday Inn is far inferior to the El Monte Holiday Inn.
Start with the building itself. Built over an old strip mall, so it seems a little sketchy. The newly renovated section is oddly connected. Pros: easy parking, beds were comfortable, breakfast was as always.Cons: requested late check in (they werent able to accomodate) told me theyd call when room was open and never did. Room was in newly renovated section and AC was broken. So had to change rooms from 2 queens to 1 king and couch bed. New rooms tub was clogged and tub would fill up during a shower (reported and never fixed). All the manager would do is offer reward points. And asked if I would be willing to go back to first room. I was outbof the hotel @ universal studios. If I ever go back to this area Ill never stay in this location again.
Front desk staff was inviting and polite. I was impressed with the overall cleanliness of the hotel. The rooms and bathroom were nicely done with a modern look. Beds and pillows were very comfortable. Complimentary breakfast was outstanding. Great variety of different foods. Overall had a wonderful stay.
The hotel is excellent at most things. The staff are great, the rooms are clean and well lit. There are not as many plugins as I would like but more than most hotels. The only problem was with the breakfast. The single staff person worked VERY hard but was overwhelmed by the demand and the slowness of the kitchen to produce food. Every day of my stay this resulted in long food lines, wasted time, and frustrated customers.
I’ve stayed it’s this particular hotel many times and have never had an issue with room accommodations, staff, food or otherwise. The hote has always been very clean and the staff have always been incredible and eager to assist me whenever I needed them. Love this hote and plan to stay here again on future occasions.
Great location, freeway close and plenty of parking. Check in was easy, got one of the newer rooms. Getting to the room was a little odd, since the newer rooms are in a separate wing of the hotel with their own entrance. Looked and smelled like a fresh remodel, nice design - modern, clean and simple. Ton of outlets and charging stations!! Breakfast had a lot of good choices, with coffee and supplies being restocked often.
We were happily surprised at how great this place was! We booked here last minute as plans changed and we were able to get a room at a decent price. We had expected a motel style place but instead found a more private mini hotel with nice elevators and entry to the rooms from the inside. Breakfast was included and there were free amenities like the internet and pool. We had requested a crib which was already there when we entered the room and we even got a call right when we brought up our luggage to check on everything. Finally and most importantly the room was very clean which made us feel at ease since we had a toddler with us. Excellent!
My family and I spent 9 nights at the Pasadena holiday Inn suites, the 2-bedroom was very spacious. The beds were very comfortable, especially the pillows were great! My kids were able to fall asleep every night! In addition, the staff were helpful and responsive during our stay there. The manager, Annie was very friendly and helpful to every issue we may have.
Just want to start off by saying THAK YOU to Tim, the gentleman who checked me in late on the evening of November 3rd 2020!While I do not get to Pasadena as often as I used to, this is my go to hotel due to location of my work activities, proximity of locally owned restaurants and shops and the staff! This past trip caused a late afternoon coast to coast run, hour drive from airport to then go to work for six hours only to discover, while standing at the front desk at 1130PM, that I had booked the hotel for the following week. Tim, who i have seen here many times, listened to me, changed up the reservation, gave me water and even offered me anything to eat from the market place due the late hour and my obvious frustration with myself for the reservation error.!This is what customer service is about and why I am a IHG Spire member! Please pass this along to the hotel and Tim for his great customer service! The rest of the staff here also, always smiling and happy to see you! Kudos to you all!
This property is one of the higher rated hotels in the Pasadena area, and the property overall, was very nice. I wasnt crazy about the location, however in the whole scheme of things, it turned out just fine. The staff was very nice, and I have no complaints with any of the service that we received during our stay. The room was large and well laid out, complete with a decent sized refrigerator. The hotel was priced right too. The Wi-Fi was pretty decent which I thought was a pleasant surprise. The challenge really, was that the bed was really firm - too firm for my wife, and as a result of that the stay was less than stellar because she didnt get much sleep. She wound up trying to nap on the couch in the sitting room. For that reason, we probably wont be back. If you are OK with a very firm mattress, this hotel is a great choice.
We stayed here while visiting Pasadena Old Town and surroundings. The location was good. This facility appears to be recently remodeled and it shows. Very clean; very well-maintained. Breakfast buffet had pretty much everything we wanted. Breakfast seating might be difficult during busy times, but turns around and opens up quickly. Staff was very professional and courteous. Very happy overall with everything during our stay.
I was working the pre-parade, equifest, parade and post-parade activities and stayed here during that time. I shared a room with 2 double beds with my retiree parents. I was at the hotel for 8 days total. The staff was very nice during my entire stay. The parking is good and while the parking in the lot by the doors is usually full, there was always plenty of parking in the garage just a few more steps away. The room was small for three adults. I think the room was not designed for the two double beds that are now in it. The furniture and decoration were really basic, but fine. There was not sufficient space provided for suitcase storage and closet/drawer space for three adults, but we made it work. There was only one chair at the small table in the room so we asked for an additional chair to be brought to the room. They accommodated us by brining a dining chair within a half an hour. Power strips were provided which was nice because we had plenty of places to plug in all of our electronics. The internet worked well. The bathroom was basic but clean and everything worked well. The Bath and Body toiletries provided were nice, but it would have been nice to have extras, and extra towels with three of us. The breakfasts provided are very good and there were lots of choices. Everything was nice and hot and replenished quickly. I especially liked the cinnamon rolls and the omlettes. The location is really convenient to everything in the Pasadena/Arcadia area and is walking distance to the metro train station. The freeway access is just a block away. There are many good restaurant options within walking distance or a short drive. It is just a few minutes drive to Old Town Pasadena. Other than the small space in the room everything else here was very nice and I would recommend this hotel for a clean, safe option in this area.
I used to stay there and I had some points. So, I made two reservations back to back. Upon checking in, they welcomed me back. Although I made reservations in a bit complicated way, they made sure I could stay in the same room.My room was clean, located on the coner and spacious. Bathroom was clean. The AC was so quiet that I even had to ask the reception of it was working.I always like the pillows as I can choose between soft and firm.Great experience.
Hotel was very clean and staff was friendly. They have a new section over the business in the strip mall. No issues was not aware it’s not attached to the Holiday Inn and you have to walk a bit of the was and open and close doors to get to the new part. There is an elevator on the outside that will take you up. Which was nice. You are excluded from the rest of the hotel. That was also fine. It’s very nice. The only complaint I would really have is there was not an ice machine or vending machine in new section so you round have to walk a bit to find the one attached to the original hotel. In you are handicapped new section is ADA but everything is away from you. I always stay at holiday inn express because you know what you are getting. I would stay there again just in the older section do to my disability other than that you will love this place
I liked the set-up of the king suite, with two separate rooms. The bed was comfortable and I slept well. The room was exceptionally clean and it was very helpful to have the mini fridge and microwave available. Staff was pleasant and friendly and I will stay there again.
We were there on business which required us to be up at 4:30am and no matter what time it was, the coffee in the lobby was hot and someone was there to assist us if need be. The hotel lobby was nice and clean and very inviting. We also used the jacuzzi after a long hike and that was very useful.
Rude and inexperienced night clerk. Treated me as if I was an intruder who did not belong. When I first arrived he was out in the parking lot at a car. Once he returned I needed my key fixed because it did not work. Gave me a third degree as to my identity. when I informed him I was in a hurry due to the need to use the restroom. He purposely slowed down took his time made a few rude comments finally giving me my key. As I walked away almost out of earshot hes smart alec commented have a nice night . Totally unlike the day crew who were wonderful kind and welcoming . This clerk does not know how to deal with people certainly did not make me feel welcome at all. I have recently become a regular client to this hotel but Im rethinking my decision
Stayed here for business. Rooms are large and clean. However bed is hard as rocks and very uncomfortable. They ask a lot of questions about your room preferences...don’t waste time answering them because they won’t be fulfilled. Breakfast didn’t start until 7am on a weekday. I had to leave by 6:45 to get where I was going on time (it’s LA people!). Therefore I couldn’t have breakfast. The ice machine broke down and the hallways smelled stale. Won’t stay here again and I can’t recommend...especially for the price I paid.
Overall, my wife and I were satisfied with our three-night stay. The staff was friendly and eager to help. The hotel was reasonably priced and the recently-renovated room was quiet and clean. The bed was comfortable and we slept well. A couple of ants spoiled the first impression of the bathroom, but we dispatched those ourselves and saw no more during our stay. The hotel is in a small shopping center, which came as a bit of a surprise; we appreciated the parking garage, with no need to enter and exit through a turnstile. At night, however, walking from the garage to the back of the hotel (where you enter for the elevator to the rooms) we felt a bit vulnerable - more lighting might help. The lobby area was being renovated during our stay, but the temporary breakfast area was clean and comfortable. The breakfast offered many choices. We appreciated the yogurt and fresh fruit, and the coffee was good. The pool was disappointing - wed planned to spend an afternoon by it with family but did not - the pool area is tiny with few chairs, very little shade, and there is no refreshment service.
First, I want to say that they have a free coffee bar open 24/7. This was my favorite thing about this hotel! I am a coffee addict and I used it a lot! And even tried different creamers. The place was really nice and the staff was great! They have really great free breakfast as well. We stayed for a week and ate the breakfast every morning. The pool is nice as well and we used it several times. Definitely will be back!
For Pasadena, this price was fair and we were staying for 4 days. On arrival, we were warmly greeted and given a decent room facing away from the front. It was quiet, but the window didnt open and it felt a little claustrophobic. I went down to ask if they had any rooms where the window opened and we were given a room across the hall with a balcony. Same size as the last room (a little small) but the sliding door kept thing open and breezy. The breakfast was good. Ive had better, but Ive also had worse. I really liked the dining area which was open and big enough for lots of people. They were a little slow getting refreshed hot food out but that might be due to long, outdoor walk from the kitchen to the lobby/dining area. Build a hallway for the poor servers!Front desk was very nice, always greeting me when I came back in without being too cheery. I like pleasant, not fake.Overall, it was a good stay. Definitely overpriced for what you get, but that seemed typical of the Pasadena hotel market. So in context, this was an above average hotel with friendly and personable staff.
First time in California, The front end staff were extremely welcoming and friendly. Offered water as soon as I arrived. Fast check in, offered suggestions on where to eat, and restaurants in the area that offered discounts! My room was great, front sitting area with desk was a heaven send. I didnt have to sit on my bed to do work while in the room. Business center was easy to use and front desk staff were always willing to help with any issues. (refilling paper).Overall a very enjoyable stay for the 6 days I was here. I would stay again.
We stayed in one of the new rooms, however this was separate and away from the main hotel and lobby. The area is a bit shady. Room service did not clean our room after our first night. Internet was slow and kept dropping. Parking was easy, however it was far from our room. The price was a bit high for the quality of hotel room. I missed having cookies available to us like at other Holiday Inns.
I stayed here for most of the month of July 2014 for business including a few weekends. The hotel property is good and clean and pretty well maintained overall. The pool was always clean and got plenty of use from the guests. The rooms are clean and the beds and pillows made being away from home much more tolerable. The only negative is the elevators which are very slow, but that was a minor issue considering the positives. The staff is excellent. Everyone was friendly and very quick to help with any questions. Breakfast is your standard HI Express which is decent quality, but gets monotonous during long stays, but that isnt the fault of the hotel. If there is one thing I wish they would improve is the bagels. It would nice to have fresh bagels rather than the mass produced bagels that they currently use. It would also be nice to have a better selection of spreads. But overall, these are not major issues. I will be spending a month in Socal next summer for work and I will probably try to stay in this same hotel.
We enjoyed our weekend at this Holiday Inn Express. It was conveniently located for our visit to the arboretum. We also found restaurants and supermarkets nearby. The hotel employees were friendly and the room was comfortable and clean. We highly recommend this hotel.
Overall, a very nice new property with spacious rooms and airy commons area. The arrival experience was very pleasant, and the building is kept very clean throughout. The breakfast area is very roomy and bright, and the food was good, if anything, somewhat lacking in variety, though. Convenient location right off of the highways but without the traffic noise, and in a very nice neighborhood.
Third stay at this location. I travel for work, and love that this hotel is easy access to get on and off the freeway. I have always felt safe when staying at this location. Staff is always friendly and will make small talk at check in and check out. I drive a large vehicle and love that there is a overflow parking in the back where I can park and not have to worry about my vehicle. Beds are comfortable, rooms are always clean, and breakfast is great.
Enjoyed my stay at IHG, room was clean and bed was comfortable with lots of pillows! Breakfast was hot and tasty. Statf was friendly, would definitely stay again if I need to go back to California. Only complaint would be that the elevators need A/C and so do the bathrooms in the room.
The hotel and staff exceeded our expectations. It was very convenient to downtown, quiet, clean, secure, and the staff were very friendly and professional. The breakfast choices were adequate. After I got home, I realized that I had left a pair of black casual shoes with $500 orthotics in my room.I would like to thank Annabel at the front desk staff for arranging for them to be sent to me. I really appreciate your help! All in all, it was a very nice stay.
This is a very convenient and quiet location, Close enough to the interstates, but far enough away to not hear the noise or traffic. Part of the reason we chose this location was because it had a hot tub and it was great! The room was comfortable and the king bed was great. We stayed for 6 days and the staff was very good. The room was maintained and clean. The only problem I had was with the breakfast area. The empty containers werent replaced quickly enough. And the tables needed to be wiped off, but werent. There seemed to be a problem with Milk for most of the days we were there. I dont mean to sound like this was a huge problem. We would recommend this location and we would stay there again.
It was a great day away from the usual. The Hotel is not as pretty on the outside as it looks in the pictures, as it is in the same lot as a mini-mall. But inside, there is absolutely nothing to complain about. It is clean, the staff was efficient and courteous -- they even gave us a late check out on a Sunday for no additional cost. Our room was spacious, quiet, nicely decorated and provided for all our needs including microwave and refrigerator -- even a bar. The breakfast was really good and the swimming pool was clean. It was exactly what we were looking for.
We are regulars but very disappointed in last stay . Even in a suite the room was dirty. Balcony was dirty. Bathroom shower had hair previous guests. We could not connect to WiFi even after calling front desk and technical support . The outcome was just “sorry we’re unable to help” Having signs stating cleaning is limited definitely showed in the cleanliness of the room . The price was way to high for all the issues . I’m these times basic PPE should have been given no questions asked opposed to signage stating you must request it this puts all your guests and staff at higher risk
The ease of check-in was easy and was greeted by great front-desk representatives. The value for the suite was great! the room and bathroom were very clean and tidy! Was not pleased with comfort of the bed, or the immense light coming thru the crack(bottom) of the door at night. Breakfast was typical, had a lot of healthy options, however some things did not taste great/quality. Overall for the price and friendliness of staff, it was great.
For the type of hotel it is, it was very nice. The atmosphere was clean and modern. Service was friendly. Free parking, wifi, and breakfast is really nice. The rooms look exactly like all the pictures online. I would definitely stay here again is I am ever in the area again.
It was a little difficult to find at first, but the hotel was tucked inside a plaza. The lobby looked very clean and modern. Check-in was very smooth. Was offered a goodie bag for being an IHG member but decided to take the points. I requested a room upgrade to a single queen (instead of a double) but they were all booked. The room we had was still great. Spacious and clean, I also thought the bathroom was decent sized, having a lot of sink space to place my personal items. The A/C worked well during the hot weekend and I was able to sleep mostly comfortable. Check-out was also very easy as it was done automatically for me (since I booked online?) and I received my invoice/receipt under the door the day of check out. Overall, a pretty decent stay.
The hotel was clean, safe, and quiet. I couldnt hear my neighbors or anyone talking loudly outside of my room. The room was tidy and served its purpose. It was a standard room and the bed was quite comfortable. The only downfall was the air conditioner which had a touch pad to operate and did not work to operate appropriately. I ended up unplugging the air conditioner from the electrical socket on the wall. In the morning breakfast was available, and it had a variety of breakfast items for your choosing. Overall, enjoyed the stay.
Went to this location for the Pasadena Half Marathon. In an interesting location, because it is at the back of a strip mall. Greeted and treated very well by the staff! Elevators are pretty slow, especially up to the fourth floor. Room very spacious and clean; bathroom clean with plenty of amenities. Staff accommodating to requests for late check out. Had an overall great experience
The staff were courteous and competent. The Lobby was up to date. The room and bathroom were not large but they were clean and comfortable. Bed and pillows were good. Only minus about the room I can think of was a weaker than normal water pressure (but it was not terrible). Overall I would stay here again as long as the rates do not get too expensive.
We checked in relatively late (after 9 pm), but the front desk staff was very professional and cordial. Check-in was a breeze. The staff happily answered all of our questions regarding hours for the fitness center (open 24 hours) and the hours for the free continental breakfast. He also informed us that only one of the two available elevators were working. This was the only downside as it often took awhile to get the elevator for this 4-story hotel. The room was clean, nice lighting in the bathroom, and plenty of counter space next to the sink. The sheets on the bed looked very clean and the mattresses were pretty comfortable.Being away from the more crowded Old Town Pasadena section of Colorado Blvd meant that the area was pretty quiet at night. The neighborhood was pretty nondescript--this section of Colorado Blvd has many car dealerships, and the hotel is actually within a small shopping plaza with a Japanese restaurant and some other businesses.I loved the fact that this hotel had free parking and free in-room WiFi. Almost all hotels that Ive stayed in charge and arm and a leg for both amenities. The free continental breakfast was another plus. Simple breakfast items were available, such as hot trays of sausage patties, bacon, scrambled eggs, biscuits
My band stayed at the Holiday Inn in Pasadena while we were on tour. Our location was central, but we were far enough away from the fray for it not to feel too hectic. We were placed in the suite adjacent to the main building. Staff was accommodating all hours of the day, the beds were comfortable, both rooms were clean, and everything in both rooms was in working order (the TV, coffee machine, etc.) The complimentary breakfast was one of the best Ive had at a chain hotel. I would recommend these location to anyone looking for an affordable, clean, friendly hotel in the greater LA metro area.
Great hotel. Not in the nicest of areas, but you find that with a lot of hotels in LA. Has free parking which is a huge bonus, plus free breakfast. Food was fine. About what I expected, with a good selection of cooked food, fruit and cereals. I ended up getting a suite as the cost wasnt much more than a standard room. Bed was really comfortable. Air con was a bit loud, which personally I didnt mind, but might bother some people. Staff were all very pleasant and helpful.
Id rate zero stars if I could. My mattress smelled like it had been soaked in fat man body odor and it made the whole room reek. I was assaulted by the smell every time I entered the room. The temperature controls turned out to have two settings: off and Arctic. There was an excess of weak spots in the flooring of the hotel hallways; I constantly worried Id take a step and fall through to the next level. The elevators were super rickety; if not for my recent injury I would have LOVED to take the stairs. The online photos are alarmingly misleading. The pool and hot tub are tiny tiny and awkwardly squeezed between the hotel building and parking structure. It feels unsafe, too.
Was pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness and modern, open concept atmosphere of the lobby area. The lobby and room had a fresh scent, very pleasing upon entering the hotel. The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful every day. Bed and pillows were excellent. Swimming pool looked inviting, just off the lobby, but I didnt have time to take advantage of it.
This HI is placed in between car dealerships so it might be hard to find. Target is nearby which is helpful for any nearby. Our first day, we did an early check in and luckily a room and available. We settled in and went down for a nap to have Maintenance knock on our door, then open our door. Odd to have their staff come to rooms that are checked in.Their housekeeping hours are different too. We are used to morning housekeeping around 10am or so but we would leave the room and come back around 230pm to see that our room hasnt been made or cleaned. Literally one minute after we returned to our room, housekeeping services knocked on our door. At that point we were just too tired and sent them away.Overall their room and morning breakfast is good but it just felt like their staff wasnt communicating well with one another.

2022-04-29Positive: Lobby was nice, well lit and inviting and availability of hand sanitizers at different locations. Some staff were helpful. Negative: 1. Location - midst of car dealerships 2. They did ask me to pay up for parking though it was clearly mentioned parking was free 3. One day they did not clean the room 4. Breakfast lacked variety 5. If you had an SUVs you had no option but to double p

2021-12-08Wanted an IHG hotel near the LA Arboretum for the holiday light show. Nice friendly staff. Booked two king rooms and both were upgraded to king suites. Rooms were clean, quiet and upgraded with newer furniture and finishes. Separate sitting area had a sofa and second TV. Keurig coffee machine didn’t work in one of the rooms. We assumed machine needed to be descaled. Breakfast was good, typical offerings for a Holiday Inn Express. Only IHG property in the Arcadia area. I would recommend it to others.

2022-04-26Cleanliness and comfort were exceptional. They thought of all the little things in the room setup. Lighting was very well thought out. The pool area was clean and made for a great relaxation tool! Breakfast was excellent, with plenty of choices and tasty coffee with all of the fixings!

2022-01-23I’ve stayed here twice and to be honest my first stays was 5 star I checked in around 12AM. I travel for work so I asked for a late checkout I was told how does 1 o’clock sound 👌 gathered my belongings headed to my room and checked out about 1:30 following day. As for my second stay everything seemed normal same girl at the front desk I checked in around 10:00 pm this time everything was the same asked for late check out all was good except this time around 12 noon a man comes to my door does not say who he is and tells me check out is at 1130 I informed him I was out down for 1 last night he accepts this and leaves well around 115 the cleaning lady opens my door unannounced and just comes in which she apologized for as I was getting out of the shower. So I get dressed and head to the door And she tells me my suite is the last on her list to clean at 2:00 and that is okay I stay until then since she walked in on me I was thankful for this as I was running late well then around 130 this man comes back still hasn’t addressed who he is I explain everything that’s happened and how the hot tub in my room which I paid extra for also didn’t work and that the cleaning lady’s said I was okay until 2 he just says I’m calling the cops and started to jog down the hall and yells I gave you a warning already so now I rush to leave the room screw this place I paid 180 for a broken hot tub and to be threatened with the police to have no thanks

2021-10-29My stay at IHG location was everything I expected. The location was near local restaurant and gas stations making it easy to get too. The customer service from the front Desk team was great. I also got to take advantage of the hot tub. Which was definitely needed after being on a long flight. Then to top it off my room was clean. The beds was comfy and it was enough towels for my family. I would definitely stay at this hotel again.

2022-05-01This place has gone downhill in just 2 years. Updated on May 1st 2022.1. The room I was given was on the 4th floor after asking the clerk. Originally it was 2nd or 3rd with loud neighbors. just a good guess since this property fits that standard.2. The room smells very old.3. I think they actually remodeled one room to the newer style Holiday Inns (that they actually use in pictures). My room is very old compared to rooms at other Holiday Inns. These rooms are very dark from 2000-2006.4. WARNING! EXTREMELY HIGH DEPOSITS HEREA. This motel authorizes $150.00 to your credit/or debit card here above the price of the room, and tax.B. The authorization will take 10 business days to be removed. *Check your account to be sure the property doesnt post the charge to your account rather than release it after 10 long business days.C. The average Holiday Inn authorizes anywhere from $10.00 per night, to $30.00 per night. Anything above $50.00 is outrageous for a motel chain. Holiday Inn is a motel chain. This is unfair to the leisure, or business traveler.I would not recommend this property unless you get a very cheap price under $75.00. The property again is very old, the hallways are old, the carpets are old, and the rooms smell.I never can understand how a Holiday Inn justifies authorization to a guests credit/or debit card for $150 when this is a motel, not a hotel that has room service.Stay somewhere else. I will never stay here again.I happened to be unable to cancel my stay due to using points to stay here.Always call the motel in advance to verify the deposit. Its funny, the more I travel for work, the worse the Holiday Inns get. From noise, fights, weed, loud parties, and homeless people. Its very sad.Sleeping in my company car seems like a much better choice then this smelly property.I have requested that my company allow my team to stay at a better brand. IHG is horrible.

2022-05-10Positive: The staff was great, the whole check in process was easy. Negative: The jet tub did not work, which was one of the reasons I chose to pay more for this particular room. The tub filter also had some dirty material inside

2022-03-26We stayed in the two bedroom suite and it was perfect for us! My husband and I had our own room and there were two beds in the other room to accommodate our three teenagers. The staff was very kind and held our reservation until we got there at 1 in the morning. Excellent, quiet stay.

2022-06-30This hotel is the worst one I have ever stayed. 1. the rooms are very very old and smells bad too. 2. the environment looks very dirty probably because its very old, and it still looks very dirty no matter how you clean. 3. the service at front desk needs a lot of improvement, they told one thing yesterday and totally forgot it today. Be away from such a bad hotel if you want to have a good night.

2021-10-08I HIGHLY recommend this hotel!!! Our stay was amazing and we had no issues what so ever!! I am very impressed with this hotel as google labels it a “2-star” hotel which I think it could be a 4-star hotel for sure. All staff interactions were pleasant. L Hubby and I stayed in the King Feature Suite and the jacuzzi tub was amazing and was sooo worth it! The breakfast was pretty decent, they had a lot to offer! Breakfast such as eggs, sausage, breakfast sandwich, cereal and muffins, etc. The gym was very nice as most hotels do not offer free weights. This gym was small but got the job done! Has a bike, treadmill and free weights up to 50lbs! Our room was clean, big and the bed was very very comfy!! This hotel will not let you down! The location is kind of strange and different with it being in the back of this lot but totally safe as you need your key card to access the elevator, gym and pool area.
