My wife loves this place, she asked to go once every couple weeks. Dogs are allowed and they even have watering dishes and dog poop bags on sight in case your dog makes a mess. They have a gigantic selection of all sorts of plants, they have a really good selection of succulents, herbs, and tons of fruit trees. I am going to be returning here soon to purchase a multi grafted apple tree that I believe has six different variations of apples. They sell multiple types of grafted plants I have seen apples, pears, cherries, and I believe I have even seen a couple of mixed citrus trees. It is about 90% outdoor aside from the insecticides and the cash registers. We all come here just to Window Shop and look at the different plants it is a nice place to spend about an hour just walking and looking
My sister-in-law took me here and i enjoyed myself very much! Got to bring in the pup and they gave him a treat too! Staff were all really friendly and helpful.Plants looked healthy, maintained, and organized very well.Would definitely but plants from them again! Was looking for hibiscus (out of season) and they didnt have any, but cant wait till the season to go see their selection!
For gardening needs big and small, consider getting out of town a little bit and visiting Green Acres - its the place to be! So many options for sprucing up your yard or garden. Literally acres of trees, veggies, flowers, and other supplies to make refreshing your garden easy.
There place is large, spacious and offers a wide variety of everything. Sadly the houseplants themselves are quite expensive. Im not sure its inflation or what but a year ago I purchased an pothos at the Green Acres in Folsom and it was only 22 and 3 times the size of the ones I saw here, and these were much more. Other house plants were very expensive also. I loved looking and did purchase a few things but the houseplants will not be in my budget for now
Was a nice Nursery. My mom and I decided to go here because she wanted some new pots so that she could rehome some succulents at home. We were able to find what we needed quickly. We would have stayed longer, but it was pretty cold outside. Would I suggest? Yes. Its a large area with lots of options to decide from. Worth the drive from Fairfield.
A huge variety of plants at different growth stages, evergreen, flowering in winter and summer, indoor, outdoor plants . Jeremy was very helpful and explained about plants that require less care and grow nicely with little bit of sunshine and water. These were placed in the shadded part of the nursery whereas plants requiring more light were placed outside in the direct sun.Great collection of plants and accessories and helpful staff.
I liked it! Everyone was friendly and the selection was good. I did buy a cactus that said $2.50 and then rang up for $6.50 which was a bit dissapointing that the sign and container alluded to the cheaper price. Any ways the succulents were good, a few of them damaged, sadly. Beautiful place and the charts telling you when was the best time to plant vegetables and from what. (seed, plant starter, etc) Charts are very handy!!
My husband and I love this nursery because all the products are hearty and resilient. They also have friendly Knowledgable service. Ladybugs. Sunflowers, a wide variety of herbs. Plus they have fairy 🧚♂️ 🧚♀️ garden supply. Many great fruit tree options. Thank you green acres.
Tons of options and the staff is always so incredibly knowledgeable on what you need to help your plant grow and thrive. Love this place. Bonus theres tons of locations. Its hands down my favorite local nursery to go to. I beyond love all the options for literally anything you may need. I also enjoy just taking my toddler there and roaming around and just looking at everything, and he loves it too!
Pretty disappointed ...I went there a couple of weekends ago and the person who assisted us was really helpful and nice -- he wasnt even a sales person, but he did his best to give us recommendations. That experience was great! Buuuut, one apple spoils the whole bunch.Today I called to get a recommendation and the first person was polite and transferred me after I asked for plant recommendations as they were not a sales person. The sales person who did answer was very short and unfriendly. As I started explaining what my situation was and what I was looking for, they interrupted me mid-sentence and said that it was impossible to do that over the phone. They could not possibly make any recommendations over the phone and I needed to come in. Granted, I was going to come in, but I wanted to get some recommendations first, look them up online, then come in and buy them. Before I could even explain that to the sales person, they cut me off saying they couldnt help me with that and I needed to look at some magazines before coming in. I dont know how they could have possibly known what I was asking for since they didnt let me finish my question before cutting me off.I asked if I could offer some feedback and told them that its not really helpful customer service to interrupt someone before they can even ask for what they want and had they waited for me to explain, they would have understood what I was asking for. The sales person did apologize, but not for interrupting me, rather for my feelings being hurt. Thats not an apology. After I explained that that was poor customer service, I will say they were more receptive to my feedback, but they did say they were busy. Well, I dont know how its the customers fault that the salesperson is busy. Im sure lots of people are busy at their jobs, but that doesnt give them the right to be disrespectful and rude.I have worked in customer service for a long time and never behaved that way. If the situation were reversed, I would have let the customer finish their explanation and question, then said, I understand what you are trying to do, but let me invite you to come into the store and show you some plants that might be of interest to you. I would be able to help you better if you are able to come in person and see some plants for yourself. Rather than just cutting the customer off and saying its impossible to help you over the phone. If thats the case, why answer the phone at all? I truly dont think its impossible to recommend plants over the phone. Thats just ludicrous. It might not be ideal, but it certainly is not impossible. Not to mention, some people might not be able to physically go to the store especially right now. I dont think it would have hurt if they gave me a handful of recommendations. And if you cant recommend a couple of items over the phone, then you must not be very proficient in your job. Personally, it just sounds like they didnt want to even be at their job and were bothered that they even had to assist a customer.Furthermore, if the store simply does not make recommendations over the phone, then they need to let all their staff members know that so I dont explain myself and get transferred thinking Im about to get helped. I was already set on spending a lot of money with Green Acres since Im having my whole yard done which is 5000 square feet. But I guess Ill be finding another nursery instead.
Drive out there to visit store for the first time and when I got there they were closed even though the hours on the website said open. If you are gonna change your store hours update your information on google. Will not be going to any of the company stores in the future
I went here twice this week. Its a very well stocked nursery. I had already done most of my gardening but still managed to add a few more, the plants are very healthy and priced well. Its a nice place to walk through and see what plant varieties are available in this area!
Prices are great, always fully staffed, and everyone is nice. They also get a new shipment everyday so it’s exciting no matter how often I go! I honestly have been going a few times a month for a year now and I still love it. Also, local family owned business! Side note, they have some really cool rare plants for wayyy under the price they should be at.
I am writing to express HUGE thanks to sales associate, Jeremy. I am new to gardening and came in last week to purchase 35 plants, shrubs and trees for my backyard project. Anticipating that it could take me half a day to find and pick out my plants, I asked if someone could help me. Jeremy to the rescue! This guy is awesome! He was friendly, enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and oh so helpful. He helped me to find the items I was looking for, assisted me in choosing them, and even loaded them on the carts for me.I was dreading this experience and I walked away with a smile on my face!Kudos to Jeremy!
Green Acres is why we need local businesses, they have the knowledge you cant find in a box store, the charm and the unique selections that are missing in a garden center of a supermarket, and above all, theyre on your way home. Shop here and feel good about more than just what youre buying.
Green Acres Nursery has a lot of plants 🪴. No matter what you are looking for they generally have it. They are a little more expensive than say Home Depot, but they have a wider selection.Another bonus is their one year plant guarantee. Although we have had them not honor the guarantee once, even though we had the receipt. They wanted the original planter that came with the plants. We throw those out when we plant the plants.Even with the the above problem, Green Acres is our favorite nursery.
Very kind staff! They have a huge selection of products for any kind of cultivation or horticulture you could possibly be doing. They arent a hydroponics shop where its full of very cutting edge stuff but this place is a great general store for your average gardener. Will continue to shop here for sure.
The nursery itself was really nice, well kept and beautiful plants with fair prices. However, my sister and I were there for about an hour and no one offered to help us though we were quickly greeted upon arrival. My major complaint is that when were ready to check out we stood up front for a few minutes and no one acknowledged us so we asked if we could check out. The young man who agreed to help us was very disconnected to his job. He scanned the first couple of items and the third did not scan, an older man came to help -looked at the plant and asked where we got it from. I gestured to the general direction and he returned pretty quickly looking distraught, saying he THINKS its $9.50. I said I think its $10.50, the one next to it the same size was $10.50. He asked me again with quite a bit of attitude no seriously, where did you find it I felt like saying Seriously, is it our job to tell you? but instead I said you know, Im not sure exactly, weve been wandering around for quite some time. It was somewhere over to the left. And at the same time my sister just stated walking over to show him. They returned after a pretty long time, meanwhile the young man offered no friendly interaction, even when I asked about the dog treats and if they allowed dogs. Ended up charging us $8.50. They both seemed completely irritated to help us, and the young man did not charge one of our items I see after looking at our receipt which Im OK with after our experience.
I’m an avid gardener. I have something like 50 houseplants, all of which are thriving. I’ve been growing plants for nearly 15 years. That being said, every single plant I’ve purchased from green acres has died. The houseplants are typically just a cluster of cuttings carelessly potted, some of them not even rooted. They’re often overwatered and have root rot upon purchase. Management has a no return policy on houseplants, probably because they’re aware of the terrible quality of their houseplants. I will never purchase a plant from this company again, and will avidly recommend against them. Save your money, go to Home Depot or Lowe’s.
Wow, this place is stunning. We were blown away. One of the best nurseries I have ever been to. They do a lot right. But the variety of plans and expertise of staff was outstanding. The best part about this place is the way they organize their stuff. Not only is stuff grouped logically (all peppers are together, all grasses that are purple are together, etc), they actually go one step further and have three or four different sizes of plants in one place. So if you find the 80 dollar tree isnt what you want, they have a 36 dollar version of it thats in a one gallon right next to it. We were able to piece together an entire project really easily here, and nailed our landscaping because of it. The prices were modestly higher than the big box stores for some things, but we found them reasonable and some things were actually the same or cheaper.I was texting pictures of this place to family I was so surprised by how big it was. Would recommend.
Huge space with a wide selection of plants at reasonable prices. Some items had their prices mislabeled, but staff promptly reached out to correct the problem. Impressed that management is genuinely interested in ensuring a good customer experience; will be back. (updated 31-Aug)
I had the leave Green Acres Nursery a review. We got there with 10 mins til close to look at mini succulents. They have a great selection and obviously ended up going pass their closing time trying to decide. The atmosphere is great and the employees there all give a welcoming vibe. We asked a girl to point us to the vases (after closing) and she stopped what she was doing, took us there, and even made some recommendations. No once did she rush us and im sure she had plenty to do. You dont expect this type of service nowadays. We wanted to look at indoor palm trees for the house so we will be back very soon. Kudos to everyone there, my daughter left laughing with a smile on her face with her baby plants and that is truly priceless, especially during these trouble times. 5☆
A lady in houseplants on 2/22 at around 2:30PM was PMSing. I had a question regarding a houseplant that has developed hydrophobic soil; right after I water it I stick my hand in the soil and it’s dry. The water just sinks to the bottom and the soil doesn’t absorb any of it. I was wondering if they sold wetting agents or if she recommended any solutions and from the moment she picked up the phone the tone of her voice was angry and rude like she just wanted to get this call over with. She stopped me mid sentence several times and just made annoyed sound affects and asked me to repeat myself because apparently she didn’t understand. She also never answered my question on whether or not they sell wetting agents and how to use them to improve dry soil that no longer absorbs water; she told me to stop reading articles online in a very assertive and annoyed tone. I’m a regular customer who refers my family and friends to Green Acres and won’t shop at Green Acres anymore. She said her name was Ry and she clearly hates her job and is a rude individual. Please terminate her because she scares away customers not attracts them.
Starting a late veggie garden so I stopped in to Green Acres, immediately ran into Bernadette.Lucky me she helped me find the right plants for my new garden. Her care and feedback on what was available incredible. She also lined me up with the right potting soul and nutrients. Im all set till I plant winter plants in a couple of months.
Selection is incredible, staff is even better. They helped me buy 100+ plants for a complete makeover of our backyard and took the time (over 4 hours) to walk me through care instructions, ideal sun zones, etc for each one. Cant imagine theres a better nursery in the Sacramento area.
I called today and was put on hold 3 times. The question was simply whether they had a particular plant or not. Instead of finding out, the associate pretended that she took my name and plant name (I say pretended because she did not even want to take the full name of the plant down although I told her that the botanical name consists of 2 words). As expected, I didnt receive any call.back.I tried again the next day, and this time I was put on hold FOUR times. All they have to do is radio someone outside and see if they have a particular plant. This is what they do in the Elk Grove Green Acres. Instead of saying, The outside representatives are super busy. We will take down your number and call you back. What kind of customer service is this? The manager ought to be ashamed of themselves. Is this how you train your employees?
Your service and plants are great. I would like to acknowledge the help and how much your employee,Luis has been to us. We have placed 5 different orders with Luis and they’ve been perfectly pulled each time.He has loaded the orders into our car. Thanks, Robert and Beverley Lazark.
I purchased 3 trees and 20 pieces of sod. I was told I could get delivery info if I called on Sunday afternoon. I was greeted by a young female who was short with me. She said they would call me when it was going to be delivered. The sales team that worked with me said to call so I could find out the time. Obliously the two teams dont work together!! I will not go to green acres again. Oh by the way I spent $800.00 that day. Problem with her answer
So I just have to say Green acres nursery has got to have some of the best employees iv ever seen. Iv been to two separate locations for the first time ever this week and both places I was helped way beyond my expectations. At the Jackson road location a guy answered the phone and was so friendly and so helpful and even directed me to another place that might have what Im looking for and at the store in Elk Grove this guy names guy literally explained the whole planting process to me of blueberries and answered every single question I had. Didnt rush me or anything. I will never go anywhere else for my planting needs. Goodbye Home Depot
Many, many plants for all sorts of horticultural projects you could do around the house. The staff was very friendly and quickly helped us find and guided us to the plants we were looking for. They even helped us get everything into the car safely. Definitely returning for future projects.
If you are looking to start a backyard garden project, this is definitely the place to go. The only thing that I took one star off for was an employee who had an extremely bad attitude. I took my mother to the nursery to grab some things, and while there she was attempting to describe a hedge that she needed to an employee. With attitude she stated that Im not a hedge person and was walking away before my mother could even finish her sentence. I continued to watch this employee give attitude to other customers who came up to her. I was shocked. HOWEVER, the tall blonde guy with long hair and the short blonde girl and checkout were VERY helpful and nice. Such a shame that this one employee could ruin a good experience.
We needed some sod and ordered it over the phone. When it came in they called us, we went over and never needed to get out of our car. A young gentleman came up to the car and asked if we needed something. I told him of our order and he loaded it into our car! Everyone we encountered was so pleasant and polite! We love Green Acres.
I forgot the employees name, but I would really like to thank him. I brought a sample/piece of my dying tomato plant wondering what was happening with it and this guy took it, looked under the microscope and found that it was some small creatures that were eating my plant. He then suggested me a chemical to spray them with and this actually helped. Thanks to him, i actually got to eat tomatoes from my little garden this year.Would definitely recommend to any gardener.
I went to the nursery this morning with pictures of my yard and an $1000 budget for plants. I had read good reviews and I was hopeful that I could find someone there to help me pick out the right plants for my soil and lighting. It took me about five minutes of wandering around to locate a staff person to help me and she was so unhelpful that I left without buying anything. When I showed the woman the picture of my yard and explained that I was looking for plants that could tolerate full sun and clay soil, she asked if we planned to amend the soil with anything. I said we were not and she said good luck. That was it. No recommendations for plants or soil amendments or anything. She was abrupt and clearly not interested in helping us spend our money there, so we didnt. I went home and did a Google search for plants (there are lots of them that will grow in my yard apparently...) and took my money to Home Depot. Better yet, Home Depot had a man on staff who was eager to show me what to buy. I will not be going back to Green Acres.

2022-02-14This is my new favorite nursery in the Sacramento area!!! The staff is knowledgeable and helpful and the plants are very well cared for. The prices were the lowest out of any nursery I’ve been to so far. And these plants are worth every penny. EVERY single plant seemed to be thriving and there was a large variety to choose from. They also had info cards detailing the lighting, water schedule, and if it was safe for pets. Highly recommend Green Acres!!

2021-12-22REALLY late getting our Christmas Tree this year. 3 days until and word of mouth was they still had a nice selection of trees. So we decided to check them out. Not only did they have a nice selection of trees left, but their prices were OUTSTANDING! We got ourselves a 9ft, $165 Noble Fir for $20...AND they trimmed up my branches, the trunk, netted it and tied it on top of my truck for me. The gentleman that helped us were very informative respectful and kind. And the lady who gave us the deal was the same. EXCELLENT customer service. Wonderful experience. Five big beautiful stars for Green Acres! Well definitely be returning!
