Nice store, but way too overpriced for a Thrift store! Plus the cashier was extremely offended that I didnt donate 2 dollars to something that she didnt explain. (Sorry I dont donate to something) There are some hidden gems for a good price....but it was definitely a Bay area priced store. You might get lucky though, good luck!
Every time I go there I am greeted by the nice employees. I always find good stuff like jeans sweatshirts sometimes windbreakers and all that fun stuff from the 80s and 90s. I suggest you look in every section if you’re trying to look for good pieces something that is “aesthetic”.
Why are these free clothes so expensive?OVERPRICED for ebay quality. ehhhhhnone of these employees are even making minimum wage. Did you know that SF? look it up. Please seriously do... Its corporate criminal activity.these arent real charities/nonprofits, open your eyes people, most of the profits are syphoned off to MANAGEMENT, like the $600,000 to the SF regional Manager + bonus.ALL the Work Programs are government funded contracts which are taking tax paying money. Just stop supporting this greed.
Decided to stop by this Goodwill to kill some time and was immediately greeted by a staff! This location has a great selection of clothing, I ended up only purchasing two items, but if I could I would have spent much more. Will definitely be back at this location! There are 3 dressing rooms at this location.
Goodwill is such a fine organization and a big help during the COVID-19 pandemic (you ARE wearing a mask, right?). Their stores have such a wonderful selection of products with fantastic prices that during a time of financial distress Goodwill becomes a real lifeline for folks like me and you who are struggling just to survive. When things get better (and they will!) I hope that all of us will support Goodwill in all ways possible.
Goodwill store at Filmore and Post Street is the place to visit. Strategically located in the midst of entertainment district, boutique shopping, and fashionable, multicultural and upscale restaurants, it holds its own as a spot for a shopping adventure and treasure hunt. Not only, - I personally fulfill my need for home entertainment equipment, bought Onkyo receiver at a fraction of original cost, as well two of my four guitars and my favorite keyboard, - Yamaha GX 76, with a stand and seat, this for $69. The other finds I look for, is a vintage apparel and Americana. Many people buying kitchen and table ware, also light art fixtures. Most of area is taken by clothes, - mans, womans and children, there are three cabins to try on your selections. Located by the checkout is a glass covered shelf displaying bijouterie, small electronics and other pricier items. Theres sizable collection of books and used CDs, usually you can see used bikes. Tax is included, you can buy a bag for 99c to put in your purchase. Due to covid-19 situation, store is not accepting donations from public, all donated items coming from specialized centers. Store implements safe distance between shoppers, and if you may have to wait few minutes to enter, - do it, it is well worth the value and shopping experience.
I love the Goodwill in San Francisco. I spent a lot of time there when my daughter was in the hospital at Cal Pacific medical I went there every day between lunch and dinner just something to do to get out of the hospital. Im down here now at UCSF with my husband and we stop there for about 45 minutes it was awesome.
There is a nice selection at this goodwill, but goodwills essentially all operate as their own business (aka the Fillmore store is run differently than the Haight store). This is unfortunate because whoever runs the Fillmore store prices it like it’s a Nordstrom rack and not a thrift store. I’ve seen Tory Burch plastic shower style flip flops going for $70, damaged dear frances heels for $80, dirty suitcases for $20, and anything that isn’t a target brand in terms of clothing going for $12.99. I simply avoid this location because the prices always make me second guess my purchase! There is so much additional inventory at Goodwill that they should be pricing items so that they sell quickly, not sit on the floor for weeks until they get donated to the bins.
I show up at 20 till 6 o clock. Manager is at the door and claims their closed. I say its 17 till 6, she responds with they are at maximum capacity. I let her know that Ill wait, she states to come back tom. I filled her in that I have money and I know what I want. 3 people walk out, then 5,7,10, can I come in , no sir Im sorry. another young man walks up n was on the phone w them 15 min prior and had ran all the way here bc she told him they closed at 6. He asked her, are you trying to get home early? She actually says yes. Shes a chunky Mexican lady who is by far the worst good will employee Ive ever had to deal with. She was rude, inconsiderate of paying customers. I will make sure she gets home early from now on by taking my short interaction to the bosses.
One of the best locations in SF. Everytime i shop here, i recall it being consistently clean, well stocked, & organized. The staff are very friendly & helpful. Ive found many cool sweaters, heels, boots at great deals. Houseware items are limited, but they do carry a big collection of vases.
We think this Goodwill is a bit of a hidden gem. There is a diverse collection of clothes (theyre Halloween collection was surprisingly good), but its also a great place to find used instruments and unique collectibles. Theres probably less vintage here, but the collection of contemporary/trendy clothing is significant. Its also a great spot to browse purses and handbags.
I walked in yesterday and started browsing a rack of trousers. The security guard stationed at the entrance walked over to me and told me I had to leave my backpack - which was strapped to my back and thus impossible for me to open and stuff merchandise into - at the front register. I had no problem with this, and immediately complied. Then I noticed a guy with a large bag carried over one shoulder. And another wearing a backpack. And two women carrying large purses. I pointed these observations out to the security guard, after which he went around, one-by-one, requesting the same. And oh, btw - the two women and the man with the large bag were white, and the man with the backpack was Latino, as was the security guard. Me? Im a black man who EARNS everything he has, and BUYS the things he needs. My point? 1) I shouldnt have had to point out what I pointed out, and 2) if one person entering the store is asked to check in his backpack, then there should be NO ONE browsing the aisles wearing a backpack or carrying a large bag in the first place.
Horribly organized and smells. You have to be in a mood to shop here. That being said, the prices were around $4-9 which seems the low end of typical for SF. I found an original Missoni dress for $7 and some paige denim in my size for $6 so there are some treasures to be found among the infinite Forever 21 and H&M merch.
What can I say? If you need a tote bag because your purse broke or a rain coat because you got your first jacket wet or some sleek Ann Taylor jeans because you are bored suddenly of your look, come here. Get in line with hipsters, Pacific heights matrons, thrifties or just plain folks and buy a new designer slumming at Target dress for 10$ or a Jennifer Weiner book for 2$. Your life will be better because you look great with your new bargain Fossil bag and grey Armani dress and no one knows you bought it here or maybe they do and the people who work here are so happy for you when you find a Kate Spade wallet for 5$.
Oh, really exciting place!!! The best burger Ive ever eaten, and the fries... just incredible!! Is really nice to cross the bridge and take a lunch there. Good organic cola, wines... Waiters and people working there are really nice there. The athmosphere too: everything made by wood, with Napa Valley pictures. Higly recomended. Prepare a minimum of $25 per meal!! :)
The steam cleaner I was looking for was cheap and I was happy that it was broken, but I heard that it was OK to return it within 3 days, so when I went to return it, I couldnt refund it, but I said it was with store credit. Apart from that, thats fine, but I felt something unfriendly. When I returned it, the Chinese clerk gave me a very unpleasant look, and I wondered if he wouldnt return it anymore and could buy it silently even if it was broken.
If you dont mind the slight inconvenience of the smell and waiting in line for a tryout is in the dressing rooms, make sure to visit. For a dollar you can take a gray silk tie by hand, for less than $ 5 blouses of well-known brands, and when you have $ 20 you are sure to go with a high-end piece of clothing.

2022-05-28There’s nicer stuff in there but it’s overpriced. For example Shein tops at $10. A swimsuit with a Marshall’s tag for $12 selling for $12 at GW. I still bought some stuff, and books are still a great deal at $1

2022-06-19Overpriced just like with many other Goodwill stores in the city. $20 for used pair of sneakers which are all scuffed up and were donated for free!?!? And they will not budge on the price. Please shop/donate at a local thrift store.

2021-11-11The staff and managers here are beyond fabulous! They’re all super friendly, offer a basket when I’ve found too many goodies, are constantly adding new merchandise and keeping the store pristinely organized. They are the hardest working team I’ve seen! I always walk away buying amazing quality things I love, but most importantly, have a retail experience that is always more pleasant (and definitely more affordable & sustainable) than any other store in San Francisco!

2021-02-15This Goodwill location always has a great selection and is considerably larger than other goodwills in the area the staff is polite including security at the front who isnt very invasive like at some other locations and their Halloween selection is to die for.

2021-05-18Variety of inventory changes every day, so check often. The weekly color tag discount promotions have been indefinitely suspended, so spend wisely. There are some nice things to be discovered if serendipity comes your way. Masks are required. Call ahead about current refund or store credit policies. If you plan on touching merchandise, wearing disposable gloves are highly recommended. Liquid hand sanitizers are sold here. Nonetheless, a courteous staff is still very strict about wearing your mask. Dressing rooms are closed, so know your size. Public restrooms not available. Public parking can be challenging, but theres a private parking lot across the street.

2021-01-15I shop at many Goodwills and this location has some really quality clothing brands & shoes. The kitchenware, books, and linens are more sparse but dinnerware and mugs are plentiful. Houseware is pretty good with mirrors, large baskets, vases, etc. Electronics are sparse as well. I mainly shop home goods and clothing so I love this location. The prices are a bit steep though. $9-15 for tops, $20+ for outerwear, and $10-15 for pants. Shoes are all $10. The store is clean and well organized too.

2021-09-13They have a small selection for Big and Tall men, as in it is usually impossible to find anything more than an Extra Large in Mens shirts, and I am usually needing to get my fiance at least XXL for example.
