I accidentally donated an important item with cash. The Goodwill employees (sir Vincent) and others were more than willing to help and found it on the same day at another warehouse location. Very honest and goodwill people, I am very happy to do business (donate) at this place!

Opened on time at 0830. Donation agent was very friendly and helpful with unloading heavy bags. Will take books!

Wonderful, accomodating staff. Can take little stuff in front, a big back door and parking lot for big items. Theres an amazon locker, and kitsch souvenirs to support Goodwill. Liberal receipt policy. Makes me feel so good while downsizing as I retire.

I used to donate at this location until one of the attendents was super rude to me. Now I drive a bit farther to the Salvation Army donation center at the east end of Governor Drive.

I believe donating should be an easy process. This place makes it really easy. I just had a few boxes of housewares and books I wanted to drop off in < 5 mins. It was quick and convenient.

If I could leave a zero star I would. Both employees were picking though all of my truck, telling me that they would take BRAND NEW plunger, shoes, carpets, fans and more calling them in their words “junk”. I thought this was goodwill, not a shopping trip for the employees? Never go to this location.

Update: November, 2014This is now exclusively a donation center and record destruction center. They are moving the bookstore to a new location. The new store will be opening in December. The new address is: 7061 Clairemont Mesa Blvd., Suite 201, San Diego, CA 92111I stop by this store on a regular basis to check for classic books. The management and staff at this location are both exceptional. The store is always well organized and the staff is always helpful and provides excellent customer service. They have sections specifically for topics like history, theology, business, children’s books, etc. The store stocks a lot of best sellers and quite a few paperbacks. I believe most of the people in the neighborhood are very pleased to have this Goodwill location in the UTC.There appear to be several reviews where the people were expecting a full Goodwill store with all types of items. Goodwill has set up different store locations for different purposes. The Governor Drive location is a bookstore outlet that also sells CDs, DVDs, video games, and small home furnishings and jewelry. This location accepts donations of clothing and household wares. The donation center is located at the back of the store. It also has a document destruction service, for securely discarding documents. This location does not accept old electronics. Goodwill has several designated locations in San Diego County specifically for electronics. Always best to check the Goodwill website for new locations and to keep up to date with any changes.

It is nice to just dump your things in a bin and go. No hassle, no one to talk to if you dont want that. Hermits dream.
