I used to love going here but after the renovation the prices got ridiculous.No thanks, am not overpaying for used stuff, you better off buying at ross or other discount stores.
Just as several others have said, the employees are very rude. While I understand that it is for a good cause, and they have business expenditures, the prices are still outrageous! Its a THRIFT store! Theres nothing thrifty about this store. Regular stores dont charge those prices brand new, let alone used-and many times dirty! Wouldnt it be great if the owner/managers actually took heed of our comments and complaints??

Parking will be an issue just be patient. Huge 2 level store with plenty of good options. A bit overpriced but it is for a good cause. Staff can be snappy but helpful in general. Sunday is 50% off for seniors which is a great deal. A must visit place if you are a second hand store connoisseur.
Wont be back!Ive shopped here regularly for years with the same small bag. This time a man by the door said I wasnt allowed to bring my small bag so I left. I have library books in here. No way would I leave it with someone to steal my stuff.
We have good friends that work there that no longer are employed there used to love going donating and finding new Treasures. We went yesterday had put some things on hold they put them back and were talking badly about us to other customers! My daughters father went to pick up the items and overheard them very disappointed in their staff I have been in customer service for over 30 years you do not do that! At this point I never want to go back and Ive been going there for 15 years
Store is well organize, clean and is pretty big. Most items are like new or new. The only thing i say is not great is parking. They have 2-4 spaces but mostly always full. Barely street parking too so you mighy walk a block or two.
Not happy, prices are too high to be used items. Rather pay a few more $$$ but itll be unused.
Its hit or miss, like all thrift stores. Prices tend to vary a lot and selection isnt all that great. But there is a large space dedicated to clothing, which isnt my thing. Parking can be tricky... There is some street parking, but also a small lot on the back side of the building. You can either access it from Broadway or turn down the alley from G St.
OK thrift store. I have found a few good items, but their prices can be a bit high, so many things have tags that never discount. Most things marked so high without discount not worth buying. Store is a bit messy and dirty. But on the good side, they have dressing rooms, and a large mens clothing section.
The prices are fine. Maybe all these people complaining about prices dont buy clothes/ Salvation Army thrift stores all over SD charge about 2x as much for a single shirt.
They used to have good things and now they don’t . Another thing is the prices they are selling books for $5 where I usually get them for $1. When their is a special holiday they do bring out things based on the holiday which I like.
I always enjoy my visits to ucp thrift. Great deals. Good selection. Love the sales. Great people.

The Highest price of any thrift store the exception maybe the Veterans Thrift Store. 4.00 for a used DVD. Try 4 for 5 dollars at the San Diego Rescue Mission or 2.00 at Deseret Industries. In fact Deseret Industries is the best place for bargains.

The Chula Vista location is extremely pricey for a thrift store. A boutique shirt was $25 when you can get the same one at goodwill $9.
I went to the store in Chula Vista. The prices were High I could have gotten some pants at Old Navy or Sears for a lesser price I dont what I paid for.
The manager there is so warm and makes you feel at home. The staff is always amazing and I have found great deals here

They have a very wide selection of items for both the house and the person. I was disappointed by the options for mens shoes, but most thrift shops are well in this area as well.
Usualy a good selection of tech stuff if thats what your looking for. Redecorated often with the change of seasons .

2022-07-09The Chula Vista manager was rude & unprofessional towards me, also said I was no longer welcomed after She overcharged me. Mind it was 84cents, I’m 63 years old and I need every penny. I’m from Louisiana and was visiting so I will not be recommending this store!

2022-03-22This one used to be the father Joe village fish shop used to be a childrens hospital before that it was in the united policy to shut this building has three changed hands three times but each time these three fish stuff are really good this ones excellent its got more stuff its more roomier and more open and you can actually find what youre looking for this time Im not sure when they open but I definitely have to go back here in order oh yes and if you want to make donations you have to go around the back they accept them there they said theyll take donations until they run out of room back there and they have no specified date to stop making donations or times

2021-09-01Way to overpriced for a thrift store. I think it is not okay to price items this high at thrift store I saw two pairs of cowboy boots for 100 dollars each, I also saw SHIEN for 15 dllrs, ridiculous it cost less brand new. At this point they are taking advantage.

2021-09-10This is now Father Joes Villages. They did not have what I was looking for. Although the store looks nicer after the renovation, in the end I come for well priced items, and the only items I would have been interested in were not priced to sell.

2021-09-18Prices too high after renovation, they sell more expensive than if it were new. I found things for 15 dlls and I saw the same item for 10 in another store but new, it’s ridiculous.

2021-02-27Walked out of here shaking once. A man was following me around giving me very mean looks, i thought it was a random till i realized he worked there. I showed the cashiers my money and asked them to make him stop because i was literally shaking scared but they just looked at me like there was nothing they could do about it. Came back a year later, not sure if its the same guy but as soon as I walked up he blocked the entrance without a word and when i tried to pass him he said he needed my bag. It was just a weird way of going about it. Wont be back this time. Very uncomfortable experiences
