Super yummy ! I forgot what I got but that ish was Delish! And their fried Oreos even better def. coming back ! Prices are ok its was like 25 bucks for my bf and I . We each got a hot dog with one specialty fries and two drinks not mad at that ! We were pretty happy with everything so it was worth every penny ! Staff are chill parking great.
Cranes Bar , impressed. Wow, it is quite the venue. Open the large glass doors and step into the Emerald City where everything glitters and shines. From the bottles of wine stacked 20 feet high to the concrete stairs leading to the tasting areas. So much to choose from where to start? We settled on 3 flights from 3 wineries, Chateau Montelena, Landmark, and Hanna. Between the both of us we drank a lot, (some pours sucked, you know who you are) and some pours just didnt stop!
Dudes a creep and was on something when I was there (bar tender). No happy hour like online says. Totally dead(I.e. I am only person there) even at favorable bar time. Super sketchy area also. The other reviews I am reading about this place have got to be fake accounts lol.Avoid this place.
This was the last stop on my mini tiki crawl and my favorite out of the 3 bars I visited. Everything from the decor to the drinks was perfect. They nailed the theme. Really feels like you are in a pirate hideaway. Service was exceptional. Not only did our bartender make amazing cocktails but he taught us while he was doing it. That part reminded me of my favorite bar back home in Vegas. It is like a drink and a show. I could sit there all night watching and learning. Def a must visit in SF.
I loved Tonga Hut wayyyyy more than I thought I would. Yup, its super dark. Yup, the bartenders are all super grumpy for seemingly no reason. But, man oh man is it fun. Get there super early if you dream of sitting on a weekend. Drinks were strong and tasty. Order food to be delivered. Its a great spot.
Best place to ring in a Friday night. I love the cozy, casual vibe of this bar. Its also conveniently located in the Montrose shopping lane so there is plenty of parking (huge free lot in the back). I absolutely love the food here. Ive tried probably everything on the menu and have loved it all. My favorites are the sausage platter, the burger (with bacon and guacamole added), the bacon wrapped hot dog, and the bacon mac n cheese (clearly I love bacon lol). There are always a bunch of beer options and a ton of delicious cocktails. I also love that there are TVs everywhere and they show all the football games on Sundays! There is always some sporting event playing which is just perfect for me. It gets very packed on Friday nights but its the perfect place to have that first drink of the weekend.
I have only visited this place once and in my limited experience it had everything I look for in a small bar. Fun mixed crowd. Strong drinks. Amazing music! Not sure if the DJ only played on certain nights but she was spinning some amazing 90s jams. My friends and I will totally be back again.
The View Lounge is located on the 39 floor at the Marriotts Hotel. It is a gorgeous place for date night. Who drink at 4pm? I did! Seriously, come early to view the sunset and find a seat. The place get filled very quickly. I usually can find a seat in both sides of the building. Staff are attentive and parking are hard to find. Maybe you want to take public transportation to save time?
Theres not many dive bars in this area that are priced as well as Cranes Downtown Bar. The bartenders are awesome like Kelli I wasnt having the best of days but she hooked me up with a pint of goodness. Modelo pitcher was only $18 bucks so I decided on one of those for myself to drink away my woes but this place is awesome on Thursday taco day! Great gem in the west side. Btw they also have board games! Old skool but cool haha.
As I am a huge Steelers fan I was looking very forward to going to this bar for the first time. But I guess I made the tragic mistake of going on Superbowl Sunday! I called the bar before I went and nobody informed me that every seat at the bar was $50 a seat. So after I took a expensive Uber to get there just to find out that it was $50 just to sit down unless I stood up against the wall. On top of that when I went to go ask for a beer the rude male bartender informed me that they didnt carry Heineken and said that they only had Bud Light and Budweiser and Coors Light which is absolutely disgusting and I drink real beer. On top of that it does not say on their website or their Instagram or even on Google Maps thats there is a wooden slippery staircase that you must climb down to get to the bar. It was pouring down rain outside that day and they only had one mat at the top which was also soaking wet.The stairs were soaking wet and slippery and scary as hell on Superbowl Sunday! Im disappointed by the way that I was treated it was really dark down there extremely dark and cold no ventilation so all I could smell was different kinds of food and stale beer and other peoples perfumes mixed together. Now mind you I am a huge sports bar fan and I know a good sports bar when I go to one and I am sorry I ever wasted my time on this one. NEVER AGAIN....SEE THE PICS....
A cozy underground bar, hidden behind a vault door (and heavy velvet curtains)? Whats not to love!Did I mention the beverages are reasonably priced? After a fun hour of being locked in a room with seven other strangers (see: Escape Room LA), my friend and I decided a quick beverage was in order before hopping on the metro. Yelp suggested Cranes (well reviewed, and just around the corner from where we were standing), and we obligingly headed in.After moseying down the stairs, turning right (past the vault door), and parting the curtains, we were greeted with a cozy-yet-not-quite-dark lounge with good music and a huge selection of liquor. We spent the next hour recounting the Escape Room over drinks, and when it was time to leave I was pleasantly surprised with the prices.Ill be back!
The neighborhood bar youve always wanted. Cool (literally and figuratively), dimly lit atmosphere that is clean and comfortable. Bartenders are top notch service professionals who are there to ensure you have a good time. Youll run into old friends there and probably make new ones as the crowd is always good spirited. Like Cheers but 100% DTLA . . .
After getting pizza at Cellarmaker, we all had some extra time to kill. It was still sort of early but one of my friends mentioned how she had never been to a tiki bar before. Welp. Gotta change that now. I took her and more group of friends to Smugglers Cove.As with most Tiki Bars, you gotta have a plan of attack. If you get there late, usually you will get screwed and hate your life since youll wait an eternity to get in. Always plan to get there as early as you can(Later youll see why). For example, we got there around 5:30. Though there wasnt a line, the bouncer mentioned how it was currently full but hell check again inside to see if any room was clearing up. Luckily we didnt have to wait long as he came out moments later. We went downstairs and slowly made our way to the bar. One of the gentlemen let us know that Happy Hour was going on for the first hour which is awesome! Tiki drinks can range anywhere from $12-15 usually so to get like even something so little as $2 off is glorious. I had to of course get my favorite Mastodon drink here(Final Fantasy represent!! Er...Wait. I think friggin Kuja actually called them Mistodons...Oh well...theres always the band though too) which was still as godlike as ever!
This is a slightly dive bar inspired speakeasy in DTLA. Its located right next to Peking Tavern, so walk downstairs and open the unassuming door for a grand ol time. The drinks are moderately priced and the patrons are chill. The staff could be a little more friendly and attentive, but they do a good job overall. I will say the music they played was fun! Plus they have an OG sit down video game machine in the back.
Chill low key (in a good way) hidden bar located in an old bank vault next to Peking Tavern. The Bartenders (dont call them mixologists as they hate that name) can concoct whatever your heart contends. No attitude , very cool local joint with equally cool local crowd.
Cranes is connected to Peking Tavern, I quick bite at Cranes and pop on over to Cranes.Unfortunately for us, there were only 1 bartender serving a group of over 40 !! Some people were so restless they hopped on back at Peking and than joined the rest of the group at Cranes! The cool little thing about Cranes is that bank vault entrance but sadly that would probably be the only thing that excited me..walking up a flight of stairs in heels was a little difficult but its my fault because cranes is actually a very chill spot, so if you love to smoke i dont suggest wearing 5 inch heels coming here!
This is more a review of a certain third party staff than the actual venue (The bartenders are wonderful. And the vibe itself is terrific.)This is actually about homophobic rants and blatant disregard for the validity of certain relationships over others. It began two weekends ago on a Saturday night. My girlfriend and I were sitting at the bar (had been enjoying ourselves for an hour or two at this point), when the bouncer/door man, Adrian, came from his post, into the bar area and directly sought out my girlfriend. Tapping her on the shoulder, I overheard him say: come with me into the hallway. He wasnt looking for me, but I went out to see what the deal was, anyway. We ask him, in the hallway, as he sat back down in his bouncers chair: is something wrong? To which he replied, your girlfriend (me) is being too touchy in there. Its inappropriate & Im going to have to ask you to stop. Now, we were sitting side by side at the bar. Having a conversation as humans at bars tend to do. My hand may have been on her knee, but there was no valid reason we were being any different than the straight couple across from us swapping spit. We were G rated, in comparison.Dumb founded as to why Adrian thought it was appropriate to interrupt us from a good time in order to tell us who we can and cant be respectfully intimate with in a public space, we return to the bar and hang for a while longer. Upon leaving, my girlfriend and I both said to Adrian: that wasnt cool. Now, this is when he went from 0 to belligerent and aggressive. As we ascended the stairs out, he followed us to the bottom. And, eventually, out into the street where he began screaming: dyke c*nts over and over at us. He eventually calmed down & went back to his post, and although there was an e-mail written to management the following day, Adrian was still working the next Saturday when we showed up. Adrian was working the door and immediately told us we were not welcome there. While management spoke to us, my girlfriend and I could see Adrian taunting us behind his bosses back. Waving goodbye to us as a school child might. So, management backed him, only bc they had to(it was New Years Eve and Adrian was the entire security operation.) So we were told there would be an investigation on their staff (Adrian) and we left, politely. I am here, writing, because of an injustice. One that was carelessly handled the first time around and then, again. Please spread the word about men (women, anyone) like Adrian. And discrimination(s) so many face and silently suffer while just trying to live, and love.

2022-02-15Best secret underground bar in the city. Quaint and stylish this place is great to have conversations, listen to a live small band, or grab a drink on your way through the city. Drink menu includes classics and some new flavors. They have a wide variety of spirits so you can quench your palate. Nice place to take a date or some friends looking for a good time.

2022-01-12Cranes Bar is a great venue for a happy hour or if you want to meet a large group and actually be able to talk to someone. The decor is modern and high end so its a great place for a date. One thing that is odd is that to get drinks you give them a credit card when you get in and they give you a press club card which you then use to get drinks. Id definitely go back. I have been there many times and most recently for a friends birthday and Alfonso really made a point of ensuring that everyone had fun.

2022-03-22Recommend making a reservation. This place is popular! Staff is nice. Music is good. Plenty of places to sit and watch. They have lots of tables with people making it fashionable to play ping pong. You can put your name down on the wait list and theyll text you when your table is ready.Pro tip: if youre an aficionado of the game and already play regularly, you should bring your own paddle.

2022-03-21Loved this place. I got here fairly early on a Friday night. 8:30 and the place wasnt too busy. Upon entering I reserved a ping pong table and they told us it would be an hour wait; understandable. We were able to find a spot at the bar and hang out while we waited for the ping pong table and more friends to come. When our friends arrived we moved to a bigger table and ordered food. The pizza was ok, nothing impressive. Drinks were a tad bit over priced for me.

2022-02-28This place is amazing. I had the green dog on a lobster roll, dirty corn, and dirty fries. Everything was great. My only critique is that the corn is not as good as the kind you get on the street. But very very close. I will definitely be going back very soon.

2022-03-29I would definitely come back for some ping pong and beers and finger food. I absolutely love the music. Its a nice and comfortable lounge to handing out, even for a 2 months old baby.

2022-03-29One of the best places to go to for the second operations holiday throw down: Cranes Bar Downtown Ping Pong! The only things I found interesting about Cranes Bar Downtown is the same small portions of food handing to my MoFo colleagues and I, and of course, ping pong. Although I dont have the soul talent for ping pong, I still like the game. I be glad theres no major competition, so it makes no difference if players like us hit the ping pong balls after they bounce many times, and left them on the ground. I couldve sworn I hit someones glass of wine. I would even hit the ball to get it up onto the ceiling. Yet, its another wacky world of sports. Wish they had veggie selections onto each soup spoons. :}
