The bed was awful. I almost exclusively stay with Marriot because, to me, Hilton beds are too hard. If you are like me, this was a Hilton bed. Both my wife and I had severe back pain after two nights here. The staff was nice and the location is good if you want to walk around Old Town Pasadena.
Hotel scammed me. Front desk didn’t know how to assist. Manager Brady Burch may have been the most unprofessional person I have ever spoke to in the Hotel industry. Really big let down I ended up loosing $1,000 luckily that didn’t ruin my life but for those who can’t recover from a thousand dollar loss be aware of the risk with this hotel.
I’m only giving one star because I cant give zero. My entire stay at this hotel was terrible from start to end. When we first arrived we were given a room that was not cleaned. We walked in and the room was turned upside down. The new room we were given was across from a gas station so it was loud all night. We were told we have to request 24hrs prior for our room to be cleaned or towels. I scheduled for fresh towels and never received them. When I called to inquire I was told we were never added to the list The rooms were poorly light. The air conditioner also broke in the middle of the night. All of these combined made the hotel stay bad. However the icing on the cake was when someone came into my room without permission. Our suitcases were ransacked. Personal items pulled out. Jewelry gone through and $100 stolen. I immediately reported this to the front desk. A “report” was taken and I was told to expect a follow up call Saturday. When I called to follow up the manager on duty had no idea of my complaint and I now I have to wait until Monday for the general manager to investigate. The hotel employees are thieves and the management is awful. A trip ruined by their lack of service. Never go here unless you want to be robbed!
My family of 3 stayed in this hotel Mother’s Day weekend and it was a unique stay. After deciding to arrive one day earlier, we were received in a friendly way by the staff. The room was comfortable, but the view was not as impressive. I requested pool side view, but instead oversaw the roof and vents of the hotel. The room had beautiful furniture with a modern interior look. Small powder room and spacious bathroom, but the shower head and sink released water that was tricky to control. The food served in the hotel does not compare to the potential dining you can find around old Pasadena. Hotel’s location is walking distance to some really tasty spots. Last but not least, the pool and jacuzzi were fun. I’m glad those amenities were accessible.
I stayed at this hotel because of the great location, value and proximity to my home. My kitchen is being restored due to fire. I had stayed there a week before and decided to come back another week. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The room was ok. It needed some maintenance attention. The bathroom sink was missing a handle and water was dripping around the faucet on the countertop. The tub has seen better days, the bottom was looking dingy. Otherwise bed was comfortable, great location and very friendly and helpful staff.
I enjoyed my stay at the Courtyard Los Angeles Pasadena/Old Town. My room was clean and comfortable and quiet. I especially liked having the mini fridge and the microwave. The TV was huge & perfect for watching the Olympics when I got back from work in the evenings. And the bed was very comfortable. Nobody ever came into my room during my stay, which made me feel safer because of covid. I was able to request some more towels be delivered to my door through their app. The location was very convenient, and walking-distance to lots of nice restaurants & stores, and the Norton Simon museum, where I went for a visit on my day off from work. The front desk staff was friendly, helpful, & welcoming.
Great location near everything you want to see and do in Old Town Pasadena. Rooms could use a refresh. King is advertised as including a sofa but only a chair. AC was spotty (room was very hot upon entry) and TV needed to be reconnected by a technician. All minor issues but detract from the experience. All staff is very friendly and helpful.
The good:Room spacious. Couch and footstool, frig, microwave.Bed was comfortable.Close to Old Pasadena and restaurants.Pool was clean and warm.Lobby large with several sitting areas.Patio was nice with a firepit. The bad:Small sink and small closet in hall to bathroom was congested. No coffee in lobby except during breakfast. Breakfast was overpriced, local restaurants recommended. One large family dominated the patio firepit everynight. Recommend adding additional firepit(s).Staff was very nice but they needed more staff at times.Make sure to ask for a room near the parking garage. We were located as far away as possible making long walks around the building to move luggage (building is a U shape with parking access at only one end.Overall: clean, well managed property. Please keep a hotpot of coffee in the lobby or on the patio.
Was pretty disappointed in our recent stay with the Courtyard Marriott. We were immediately rushed by the valet staff who was not wearing a mask even though the mandate was active at this time. They hurried us out of our car and quickly gave us our ticket. The hotel check in staff were nice and accommodating after that very flustered encounter. But they quickly got us a quiet room away from the elevator as I had requested. There were a few issues with our room, the bathroom looked like it wasn’t cleaned and there was dirt residue in the tubs that was very concerning. Over our entire stay not once was the room cleaned and house keeping did not come once. By the end of our stay our trash was over flowing, we had no clean towels, and no items were provided to our room. We were able to request a later check out for our departure which was nice. But when I went to return our keys and check out, then woman just kind of shrugged me off. She said my check out was done, but I was never provided any confirmation or even a receipt of my stay over the weekend. I had to call their guest service line a day later to get my transaction details. At no point did I receive any confirmation from the hotel, no check in reminder, no update on information, nor a confirmation of my completed stay or receipt. Which I feel is very unprofessional. For the location of the hotel I can say it’s convenient, but for the service I would say your better off staying somewhere else if you want proper service.
The price of the room was fair but $19 per day for parking is a little high since you have to park yourself. No coffee in the lobby, not breakfast unless you want to spend $15 per person every morning plus you need to but your coffee. Staff was excellent. Room very clean and quiet. Easy to get to Old Town. Can walk almost anywhere.
We stayed while dropping my daughter off at college. The hotel was fine, clean and the beds comfortable, but the room and the hallways were very dark. We had to turn on every light in the room and still it was quite dark. Patio area outside was nice. We ate breakfast there one of the days, but with so many great places in easy walking distance didn’t again. The location of the hotel is great - one short block away from the many shops and restaurants of Old Town Pasadena gave us great dining options and very pleasant evening walks.
This place is AMAZING. Every time I come to So Cal, I stay here because the staff is literally THE BEST. The front office staff is cheery and helpful, and the Valet is top notch. Always there to lend a hand. I get the room that overlooks the pool area, and the view at night is so relaxing and peaceful. Cant say enough about this place. Its my go-to for sure!
But not exactly what we wanted. Would have preferred double beds in the suite rather than King. Needed a makeup mirror. Couch not comfortable for two. Otherwise nice and clean, though I did get some bites on my ankles and foot. Not sure if it was from the room. Didnt see anything. Nice big TV. Long Walk to elevator and then to room. (were old and arthritic).
This location is good for a downtown Pasadena location. The property has the usual Marriott amenities, but much of it is very run down. Loose door hardware, shower valves, etc. and cleanliness of the parking garage and ice dispenser rooms needs to improve before I can recommend this site to others. The cafe was closed after breakfast so we couldnt get anything at the end of the day, so a low rating assigned to amenities. I expected more from Marriott here, so the value for money is only fair. The front desk staff is helpful, but I cant recommend the housekeeping or custodial, we did not interact with any of these latter group, but their work or lack of it is evident. The grimy door to the parking garage and garbage piled by the garage door were not addressed during our stay. The ice machine was grubby with trash left by other guests. I hope the mechanism was sealed. Our room trash was not emptied during our stay, although our room was serviced by housekeeping. My hope is that we experienced an unusual situation due to the pandemic, but some issues were very jarring when compared to the highly publicized cleanliness campaign. In general, this stay did not meet my expectations as a long-time Marriott customer.
We wanted a safe clean place. We booked 9 nights in this hotel. To our surprise, upon arriving we were told that cleaning rooms would happen only on Fridays, so just once during our stay. This was NOT what we were hoping for. And its NOT mentioned on Expedia. One morning, my toddler was eating a biscuit and dropped some of it on the carpet. Being a toddler she started picking these tiny pieces and putting them back in her mouth. That included whatever hair and dirt she found on the floor. We called the front desk and asked if we can borrow the vacuum cleaner to clean the room ourselves, but the staff member on the phone refused. My wife had to almost beg her to bring someone (or to let us borrow the cleaner) and she had to explain to her why we need the vacuum cleaner. HOURS later, she arrived and cleaned the carpet. When she finished, she lectured us she was able to come this time, but she wont be able to respond to similar requests in the future. At the end, she rudely asked me: UNDERSTOOD?? She then followed up by saying, that came out a bit too harsh right? We absolutely wont book in any of Marriott hotels ever again. We paid $1,200 for the worst hotel stay in our lives.
A bit disappointed. We had 2 rooms. In the first room,The hair dryer wasnt working. The corner light stand was missing. ( the room was dark.) The phone has much dust on it. (Do they clean the room correctly?)2nd room, coffee pot was missing so we couldnt drink coffee.I trusted yhe Marrit, but big disappments!
I really appreciated how kind the staff was and we felt welcome. It was also really convenient to get to the convention center. But unfortunately the upkeep of the hotel room was not what I was expecting from a Marriott. I’ve stayed in many and this was the first one that disappointed me. The walls had dirt stains, same with the doors, the handles, and there was hair in the bathtub when we checked in. I had to sanitize everything and re-clean and it made it a bit stressful because I wasn’t sure how clean everything truly was. When I wiped down the handles my paper towel was black with dirt. None of the ice machines worked either except for the one in the lobby.
Things were okay. We were right in Old town Pasadena and having a parking structure to keep the car was convenient. Staff was fine, no real issues. Our room was tired, we had no lamp, so it was a bit of a cave. The heating and cooling system was also tired, so it didn’t keep up with changes in temperature. It was a very pricey place for what we received, but location is everything I guess.
I was told there was breakfast when checking in. I came down in the morning to discover that the breakfast was double the price of a breakfast just down the road and it was so disgusting I could not even eat it. This was very disappointing on many levels. I felt cheated, exploited, not to mention hungry. Secondly, I was told due to Covid, house keeping would be limited to Friday unless I requested it. I checked in Thursday, so Friday was unnecessary. Staying Friday night and Saturday I was out of towels, soaps, and the bedding was thoroughly sweated through. I decided to stay another night which required me to book online for whatever reason the front desk had in mind. Inconvenient. After booking online, I had called the front desk and informed them which they said I would need to come down to exchange the key. This I understood, but it would’ve been nice to know this prior to online surfing and back and forth calling. I imagine time would’ve been better used to take care of this all in the same place and time. Regardless, I decided to begin my morning by grabbing my key and leaving. I thought this would be a good opportunity to request my room to be cleaned. The lady at the front desk responded to my request in a fashion that was in an effort to shame me and belittle my memory of the Covid experience. She said it was only available on Fridays. Now, I know this was the case as per my check-in, but many days has passed and I never requested before. Not only was I in need of many items, including tissues which were alarmingly sparse and wet for some reason, but I did recheck in without her assistance. Which if I didn’t stay in the same room I would have had a fresh room with all of this inside anyway. Besides my reasoning she was adamant to deny my request. Even to the point where she made loud remarks referring to my insensitivity to the Covid crisis in order for the other guests inline to back her up or something. This bullying tactic was very disturbing. I repeated my issues and she had me leave by saying all she can do is put in a request with housekeeping. So now for the entire day away from the room, I had to stress about my interaction and worry if I would have clean towels and soaps to shower and a clean bed to sleep in. I booked this place for the nice amenities and I didn’t realize they were hidden behind stinginess and authoritative abuse. Great amenities to be enjoyed. Just don’t expect anything complimentary and don’t expect guest services.
I dont think the rooms in this hotel have been updated for the last twenty years. The rooms, including the furniture, rugs, bathroom etc are incredibly tired and worn looking. I frequently stay at Courtyards and they generally provide an updated clean room that is comfortable. This was very far from that. Would not recommend!
Great time. You can use your phone as the tv remote! The pool was clean and fun. We brought some food and drinks to the pool, other people had the same idea and it was like little mini parties. The hotel was okay with it which was very nice. Overall, room clean and staff was friendly.
We stayed one night at this hotel because we were celebrating our friends anniversary in downtown Pasadena. Overall it was a nice experience but there were some sour details that we didn’t enjoy like the fridge that is unplugged so you have to wait hours until it starts really working or the coffee maker without a jar. On the other hand the bed was really comfortable and the room in general was nice. The hotel in general seems nice and average in maintenance. We would repeat our stay in this hotel if the opportunity arises.
The good:Friendly, nice staff.Great location within walking distance from restaurants and bars. They gave me a room I requested; on the sixth floor on the exterior of the hotel.Beautiful view of the mountains and large windows.Comfortable bed and quiet room. The bad:Trash cans were not emptied in our room.Stains on the sheets and two towels.Bathroom floor not clean.Bathroom walls had dirt spots on them. Will never be back because, in my opinion, stained linens are inexcusable.
Courtyard Marriott of Pasadena was once a jewel in Old Town. Unfortunately, the hotel is long overdue for renovations. The carpets are worn and musty. The furniture is stained, even the walls have dents. When I checked into our rom after a long day of travel, I couldn’t figure out how to turn on the refrigerator, the lights and the bedside clock. I had to call maintenance for assistance. There used to be complimentary coffee in the lobby. And, there’s little to no food service. The cost of parking is unreasonable, especially since there are no other options in the area for overnight parking. I hope that the Courtyard Marriott of Pasadena gets the TLC it needs to become the jewel of Old Town like it once was.
The hotel is well-kept and appealing on the outside and in the lobby, but my room was another matter entirely. The hallway and guestroom carpet were both in need of vacuuming. The room was generally grungy with sticky spots on the desk, discolored spots on the carpet, a dirty air conditioner and controls, and a disturbing splotch on the bedsheet. There was no trash can in the bathroom, a loose towel hanger on the bathroom door, and no aerator on the bathroom sink faucet, causing water to gush and spatter everywhere. This was the kind of experience I might expect from the cheapest hotels in town rather than one at twice the price.
Cant say enough great things about this location! The best quality of this location is its staff. Tiffany, the front desk manager, is beyond welcoming and helpful. She truly goes above and beyond for her customers.Danny, the valet manager, was also helpful, polite, and gracious every time I saw him. Hed always make sure to greet me as I approached the front door and if he wasnt busy would grab the lobby door for me.The high quality of customer service these two bring to the Courtyard is above and beyond! Overall, I would recommend this location to anyone looking to stay in Pasadena!
I wasn’t aware until check-in that this hotel didn’t provide daily housekeeping, replenish in-room coffee or offer brewed coffee in the lobby. The hotel still had a face mask requirement, despite all local requirements ending two weeks prior. There weren’t any complementary Bonvoy bottled waters in my room. Staff were friendly and helpful though. In-room AC was excellent and bed was comfortable.
Check in & lobby is well maintained and thought out for visitors and employees safety. Elevators and hallways are clean & well maintained as well. The staff from valet to housekeeping are friendly and accommodating! Only drawbacks were my rooms sink and shower/tub drained VERY slowly, light fixtures were noticeably not dusted and my room was supposed to have a couch/pullout bed. In regards to the missing couch, I did not address it or ask for a different room. For the future I will definitely review/double check upon check in that the room has the accommodations I booked!!!
Wasnt very clean, there was hair in the bathtub. And I had early check-in confirmed but when I arrived the room was not ready. They wanted 20$ per night for parking and told me no street parking was available. I was able to find close free street parking just a few minute walk away no issues. The pool was open but needed reservations, and they gave everyone such a huge slot that it was near impossible to find a time that worked. Also, the only place to get a drink at at the hotel (coffee or beer etc) was open only 2 hours in the morning (no free coffee at all, even during the opening hours). Overall, i did not enjoy and was not worth the costs.
The staff at the Courtyard Pasadena was amazing and helpful. Our keys didn’t open the door from the parking lot into the hotel building but we were assisted by housekeeping staff and front desk staff in a quick and courteous manner. Room was clean although it felt a bit crammed given the size of the couch in the room (king room). Location was great - blocks from restaurants and shops on Union and Colorado. Very walkable if staying in Pasadena.
My room was not cleaned very well. Food condiments were left in a drawer. The ice bucket bag was placed over the smoke detector, obviously by the previous guest so they could smoke in the room, it was still in place when I occupied the room. The window had numerous hand and nose prints all over it. The shower tub felt like it was going to fall through the floor, it was moving up and down. Only five items on the menu for breakfast. From coffee to a microwave sandwich. Very unfortunate for a Marriott property.
Wow.1. Light fixture is falling apart, lamp coming unglued and missing a bulb.2. Lipstick or cosmetics on one of the bath towels3. Shower head fixed position to where it sprays out of the shower.4. Bathtub does not drain5. Yellow stuff on bathtub6. Lots of marks on the bathroom walls and wallpaper failing off wall....And on and on. Way below Marriott standards. Will never stay here again.
I booked this hotel based on the website that shows an individual tub and I didn’t get that and I was upset but outside of that and my loud neighbor. The hotel is clean, the bathroom is small, just a vanity style, not ideal for more than one persons stuff. The best part is the location. I walked to a nice place for breakfast, went over to city hall, walked through the park. There’s lots of stuff in walking distance. If the room had matched the website I would’ve been totally satisfied but I would still recommend this place.
I needed to find a place in a hurry and came across Courtyard by Marriott. From being greeted by the valet staff outside the lobby, checking in with the front of house staff and including the housekeeping, my experience was excellent all round here. Professional and friendly, clean and perfectly located for all of Pasadena, I recommend staying here to anyone.
The staff was very nice and approachable. I was not pleased with the aesthetics of the room. wall paper was coming off in various places around the room. The shower curtain was moldy and the buttons on the room phone were coming off. The towels that were offered had some type of stain that looked like rust and it was very unappealing. I did not feel clean in the room and the furniture was very outdated. The lobby is the only appealing thing about the hotel. I did not feel relaxed in the room and needed to shower as soon as I got home.
Overall for the time we were there and for what we used the hotel was okay. Honestly cant say it was outstanding. I could have expected more just because the pictures looked nice but sometimes when you are there in person its totally different. I really did like that this hotel was within walking distance to various hotels, and bakeries. Loved that part.
The location of the hotel is excellent, in walking distance of many restaurants and shops. I doubt we will stay again, however, because the hotel was either built or remodeled with some of the most inconvenient and uncomfortable features weve ever seen: 1. only closet is narrower than standard sliding doors which were installed anyway, leaving only a narrow slit at either end to hang clothing. One end is almost entirely obscured with an ironing board. 2. Sofa-loveseat is so deep that even with 2 folded pillows, sitting upright is impossible except for a Giant person 3. Desk slopes down to a tiny dresser very low to the ground - items slide off the top making it un-useable, and both drawers require stooping. 4. Mirrors on either side of bed useable only to view ones midrift; 5. Light switch below TV set is not visible while standing 6. controls for AC/Heat are jammed under window and next to the refrigerator leaving almost no room to squeeze in to try to read controls - impossible at night without a flashlight 7. bathroom (tub/toilet) door opens out and hits anyone standing at sink. In short, poor design make these rooms the worst weve ever encountered. Shame on Marriott for putting fashion over useability.
Nice Hotel. Large rooms. Nice pool and Jacuzzi. Only has a Bistro...order at counter. Long lines for breakfast. Good food, pricey. But not opened all of the time.Inconsistent AC units in rooms. Blocked by furniture.Rooms have lots of areas for items to fall off of furniture, under couches and get lost in hidden areas. Good value for the area. Valet parking is expensive.
Very disappointed in this Marriott. Most I’ve stayed at are very well maintained and clean. This was not the case. I had to request a room change because the first room was not cleaned very well. Considering we are still in a pandemic I would’ve hoped for a much cleaner room. The refrigerator and microwave were disgusting and looked like they hadn’t been wiped clean in some time. The desk has some remnants of sticky stuff on it as well as one night stand. There was also hair on the bathroom floor. The room we were placed in after that was better. Still poor upkeep but it was a place to sleep at 11pm. Overall, I would not stay here again.
I had family in town visiting and they booked this for a week. They checked out after the first night because the bathroom smelled like sewage, shower was clogged, hairs all over the room and bathroom. Rooms smelled musty. Parking is $20 or so a night and no free breakfast. Not worth it. They preferred the Hilton which was clean and comfortable with better parking options across the street.
This place was definitely not worth the price. While the beds were comfortable this place could certainly use an upgrade in furniture and a deep clean. There were chips and scratches in majority of the furniture and fingerprints in most places; windows, doorways, elevators. Overall had a dingy feel to it.
I understand during a pandemic you won’t get housekeeping services but you would think the carpets would be clean and the walls and ceilings would not have stains. We had two rooms and one smelled so badly of cigarette smoke it was like sleeping in an ashtray. The topper was Monday morning 3am fire alarm going off and we all had to evacuate to the street only to be brought back in with no explanation. No more courtyards in my life.
Positive: We have a hard time coming up with just one. I can think of three off the top of my head. All the amenities, the lobby area, and lastly the transportation and where the Marriott is centrally located.I just thought of one more..the staff Negative: Although marijuana is legal to smoke people still smoke it in the Marriotts non-smoking Hotel. I would hope that in the future you could staff each floor overnight with one security detail to prevent this from happening so that guests dont leave.
I had reservations for 2 rooms for 2 nights. One room was wonderful. The other room had a musty odor that would not go away even with the air conditioning. It smelled like cigarette smoke and very musty. I asked to switch rooms but the hotel was booked and there wasn’t anything they could do. They said I could switch rooms the second night. But-couldn’t get me another room until after 8:30pm. I didn’t want to switch rooms that late. So I kept my entire family in the other room and I slept in the awful one. All my family have allergies and that would’ve been disastrous if they had to stay in that room.
Stayed here because I had surgery and it was very close to the place where my surgery was. Room seemed clean at first but there was a lot of trash behind the refrigerator and beds. Tub would not drain and sink had a big leak! When we arrived, my card was charged but not for the full amount and every day they were trying to charge me $150 even though I was quoted $120/nt. When I went to ask about this the guy at the front was kind of rude telling me “your card was not charged anything because you haven’t left!” Even though the money was clearly not in my account anymore. So I also show him where I booked the reservation and it quoted me one price and it said “total for stay: $15xx including taxes and fees” well, they were charging me $209 more and when I asked why he rudely said “well you’ve been parking your car in our garage right? That’s why. It’s $19/day for parking” which it does NOT state that when you book the room(s) nor do they tell you that when you check in. We also asked housekeeping for toilet paper since they were in the next room over cleaning it and she said she could not give us any. That we had to request it downstairs at the front desk 😡 and Netflix wouldn’t work except for cartoons! If we ever come back to Pasadena, we are definitely not staying here!
It was my first time visiting California, moving my son into his dorm at USC. Check in and check out were a breeze, customer service was friendly and extremely accommodating, my room was clean, breakfast was delicious and valet parking was efficient and helpful, with very friendly and professional attendants. I will definitely being staying here again.
My overall stay was fine. The hotel was clean and well kept. My check in was awesome however when it came time for check out I was met with a horrible employee. The lady at the checkout named Jessica was extremely rude. With this type of attitude I feel like my business will be going elsewhere next trip. Seems like Jessica should have some remedial training in customer service.
I have a terrible experience my stay at the Courtyard Los Angeles Pasadena/Old Town in Aug 2021 . We arrived late in the evening after a long drive. We were hoping for a nice comfortable room to get some rest in. Instead we were placed in an old room in the back of the hotel right next to the elevator and the exit to the garage. We to tired to request of new room since we had already unloaded our bags. The room we were place in was in need of repair and should not have been assigned to us or any other guests. This was our first and last time stay at this hotel. In our future visits to Pasadena we will definitely staying a different hotel.
Well located. Great place to stay in downtown Pasadena. Great value. Excellent staff and service. Very pleasant. Needs some refreshing. Brighter lighting some paint and wallpaper repair. Stayed during COVID restrictions so minimal to no food service available to comment on.
Dated, dirty, cramped. I took a shower and the water was halfway up my shins. Little pieces of colored biological matter were floating around my legs. After the shower finally drained, I used a pen to pull a hairball the size of a mouse out of the drain. This is pretty much my entire experience here. Breakfast is available but not free. Prices and available food options arent listed anywhere where its obvious. Even if you buy the overpriced breakfast you dont get anything to drink, not even water. The hallways stink like a mushroom farm. The ceilings are low and cramped. The walls and ceiling were dirty. Just overall yuck, and an overwhelming sense of why am I here?
My room was extremely dirty as the bathroom had hair in many places. The bed sheets had some stains as if they had not been changed. There were were also dust balls on the carpet. It was if the room had never been cleaned. This was similar to my last stay here. Rather than putting me in another room, we had to leave while the room was being cleaned.
This place was a complete nightmare, literally!!!!!Tried to get a goodnight sleep as I wanted to enjoy a relaxing weekend in Pasadena but felt itchy all over. Then at 4am was awoken by being bitten by bed bugs. As I removed the covers I saw them crawling around. It was a real life nightmare. Completely disgusted and disappointed as they didnt even try to help us get our money back for this inconvenience. They dont deserve to be in Pasadena and I highly recommend you do Not give them your business. Stay away as the facility is trash, and the bed bugs are something not to take lightly. Gross Gross Grosssssss!!!!!!! Also I will add we found a blood stain on the bed comforter, simply horrifically disgusting. Read the Yelp reviews too and you’ll realize the horror stories for yourself. These guys are crooks.
I was in town for my sisters 60th birthday party, and I was pleasantly surprised by the wonderful customer service from the moment I checked in. Although I was several hours early before check in,I was accommodated. Excellent customer service at the breakfast bar the next day and overall pleasant and enjoyable experience.
Fabulous Courtyard in Old Town Pasadena. Customer service cant be beat!!! Location is convenient with easy walking to all the downtown restaurants. Easy parking with good access to the rooms and elevator. Starbucks coffee in the lobby in the AM. Super clean and all areas very well cared for. Dont even think of staying anywhere else in the area.
As I said before the only reason I didnt book an Airbnb was because I thought we would get a little more TLC staying at a hotel. We stayed for 8 nights and didnt get any cleaning/bed making service until day 6 (just 2 days before we were leaving). It took 4 days of asking and cajoling before we finally got the squeeky bathroom door fixed. We had to leave our garbage cans out in the hall with the hope that someone would emply them when they got full in the middle of the week. Honestly, hotel service and quality (i.e. food, etc.) in the US continues to decline compared to the rest of the world. We will be hard pressed not to book an Airbnb in the future since everything is becoming essentially DIY.
Room was nice with a view of the pool but that’s about it. The room smelt so badly of mildew & there was a half empty water bottle in the fridge. When we returned to the hotel later around 11pm almost 12am, we had to use the bathroom. My man clogged the toilet so he called the front desk. The guy at front desk said the house keepers just left but he’ll send someone up right away. We had plans to go back out that night but wanted to stay until the toilet was unclogged so nobody comes in the room while we’re gone. About 30 minutes go by, we call front desk again & the guy sounded annoyed & said someone was on their way. Now it’s about 2am, our plans were cancelled, we call front desk once again. My bf let the guy know I had to use the restroom & if there was a public one I could use. The guy just said oh no he’s going to get a toilet plunger from next door he’ll be right up. At this point I’m really frustrated but understand there’s less staff at night. About 25 minutes later we get a knock on the door & it’s a different guy, he hands the toilet plunger to my bf & just said leave it outside when you’re done. The service was ridiculous & not once did we get a “sorry for the wait.” from the guy at the front desk. Luckily we just stayed one night. I wouldn’t recommend this place unless you just need a place to sleep & go.
The first room I was put in was so disgusting. The light switches had nasty stains all over them that I had to clean myself. Everything in that room was sticky with stains. Then there was broken glass all over the sink. I immediately requested a different room. This other room wasn’t much different. Except the shower was disgusting. I also had to clean it myself. You would think hotels would take extra precautions and be super clean since we are in the middle of a pandemic. Thank God I carry Lysol wipes with me. Oh and the barrista that was gone and didn’t wash his hands when returning and then made my coffee was just the cherry on top.
I really enjoyed our stay, I especially enjoyed our check in at the front desk and the valet parking employees, Tiffany was extremely nice and helpful and the valet parking was fast and courteous. Our room was comfy and we had no issues. Overall we had a pleasant stay and would stay again.
Be aware that housekeeping is only conducted on Fridays, so if like me you arrive on a Saturday, youll receive no service at all until a week later.In-app item request, for example for new towels, seemed to be ignored. You personally have to walk down to the front desk. Bistro is currently open only for breakfast.Car valet is very polite.
Our stay here was excellent! We asked for an early check in (1pm instead of 4pm) since we would be in town early and the hotel was very accommodating with this request. I received a notice that morning that our room was ready and we were able to check in as soon as we arrived in town at 11am. It’s conveniently located within a short walk to all shops and restaurants old town has to offer and I would highly recommend staying here.
I had a confirmed reservation using points and even checked in early online to ensure my 2 bed room would be available upon arrival, however arrived very late to LAX due to air delay (1-hour) and rental car delays (over 1-hour waiting with hundreds of people in line and apparently limited number of cars at Thrifty even though I had a Blue Chip reservation), so didnt get to hotel until 2 am. Again a line of a half dozen people, so when I finally get to the desk they say they no longer have rooms with 2 beds so had to take a one bed room for my son and I. At this point didnt care because we just needed to crash to go to football combine the next day. At least they didnt charge me for valet parking. Then wouldnt sell me a beer because it was after 2 am. Carl was a nice guy but seems like things out of his control. I cant say that I could recommend this hotel to others nor plan to stay again, although it may be the best location for the price. Also seemed very dirty and in need of an overhaul thorough cleaning and renovations. Not the highest expectations for a Marriott.
Centrally located in downtown old town, you’ll find the beds comfortable the rooms large and the amenities will meet all of your needs. With very accommodating and knowledgeable staff, this Courtyard Marriot is close to many restaurants and other Pasadena landmarks. I highly recommend this property.
My wife and I always love staying with the good people at this hotel. The service is always on point, friendly, and helpful. Rooms are consistently clean and comfortable, with great entertainment amenities including free HBO GO and Showtime on the smart TV during your stay! The pool/spa are clean and great to relax in day or night. Lobby is spacious and posh. The breakfast and coffee bar is well stocked and very fresh. Lastly, the surrounding Old Town area of Pasadena has a huge selection of bars, restaurants, and shopping to keep you busy and happy. Looking forward to our next stay!
Busy downtown Pasadena location. However, the employees have been wonderful. Very nice room with great accommodations. This is an update, I have been here now 5 days. My time here has been excellent. The hotel itself is right in the middle of downtown, so, there are quite a few places to go within walking distance. The wifi has been great...to the staff, thank you from the person at the person working the kiosk out front to the room cleaning I could not have asked for a better experience. You made my stay here so comfortable. Again, thank you.
Super convenient location for attending a concert at the Rose Bowl - we could walk to the shuttle area about 1.5 blocks away easily. Lots of great restaurants and shops in walking distance. We loved the front desk staff and concierge. The bartender was amazing (very fast and friendly) - and the casual bar/cafe area was hopping in the evening.Unfortunately, our room was a bit on the small side and needed some refreshing. The bathroom was small and laid out poorly. The bed was not terribly comfortable - which was surprising for a Marriott property.
My family and I stayed for for a night and the room was nice and the beds were comfortable. We stayed on 4th floor and black out curtains only close half way, (curtain rod only extended halfway on each side). So in the morning the sun was super bright. We went night swimming and the pool was heated so that was nice. Hotel is clean. One elevator wasn’t working but they had it fixed in no time. Staff was super friendly and helpful. We are at the hotel restaurant for breakfast. The prices we’re a little high but the food was good. Seemed like a lot of business people stay there. Would stay here again. Walking distance to restaurants. We ate dinner at The Pan, which was right around the corner and food was delicious.
Overall, my family and I had a great stay at this hotel (3 nights). The staff were really great the entire time. The rooms were comfortable and clean and the in-room wifi was certainly usable. The TV package offered was great. I have no problem is recommending this hotel. The breakfasts were great too, altough the set-up was unusual (pay at counter first). The on-site parking fee was on the high side ($19 per night) but you could park at the same level as your room, which was just a short distance away.
Great location, OK value. My room was right next to the ice machine in the hallway and could hear a low hum in the room. Virtually no window insulation and could hear light traffic noise. The wallpaper was dingy and needed to be refreshed. Front staff was very nice. No room service but it was OK given the ease with which post mates delivers.
Very nice property. Easy access, small and manageable, well appointed, excellent lobby and courtyard - both with lots of comfortable seating and relaxation and/or collaboration areas. The outdoor pool, hot tub, and fire pit are all functional, made great by the lighting and general atmosphere. Conference rooms are good for business. Guest rooms are clean and comfortable with an interesting layout. While not super fancy, it still manages to be stylish. Staff has always been great and helpful. Always recommend this or the Marriott Residence Inn across the street depending on the traveler and purpose of the stay.
Thank you for being so accommodating. I was supposed to stay at another hotel in another city. It was horrible so I canceled ❌ and my friend lives in Pasadena so I booked courtyard and was so happy I did excellent service and so clean. Thank you for your hospitality I will return.
The bad. The hotel is really old. My bathroom door was so warped that it couldnt be closed and the main door had to be slammed real hard to close. To make matters worst, the cleaning crew was understaffed. The trash cans in the common areas were overflowing and we woke up to a line of trashcans in the hallway. The good. The front desk staff was friendly.
We usually stay at the Westin about a half mile away, but made the switch because the Westin does not have Netflix yet. Wallpaper seemed to be peeling in bathroom, the floor of the bathtub was warped. A/C is a box unit that has to be running all night to keep the room a comfortable temp. Stay away from the second floor, we parked on the second floor as had to use the elevator there, it has a very strong smell.
The bathroom had crevices that we’re dirty, there was dust flyaways on the walls, the room did not look properly disinfected. Elevator smelled funky and the doors that lead to the parking station were dirty, not to mention the smell of penetrated urine outside the doors.
Service was friendly, but my room wasnt in great shape and didnt feel very clean. There was a piece of lettuce on the desk, so Im not sure if it got wiped down or not. The tub also had something stuck to the bottom of it. I didnt investigate and skipped using it. There was a charge for parking, but it was convenient that there was a door directly from the parking garage to my floor of the hotel.
Vents in the bathroom extremely dirty, I asked for fresh towels and extra face towels upon arrival 10 hours later they still did not arrive had to use the same dirty towels to shower in the morning. Bathroom shower tub has cracked porcelain into places this establishment is an older rundown hotel
No room cleaning unless you request it the previous day but they will not tell you at check in! I suspect this is intentional to minimize staffing. Called the next day and still took 2 phone calls and speaking with the manager before she reluctantly arrange for a cleaning staff to come by.
... rest of the hotel is in desperate need of a remodel. Pros:Nice lobby, great location walking distance to shops and restaurants. Comfortable beds and pillowsCons:Shabby rooms, long walk from lobby to elevator to room. Frustrating valet service. Advice:Ask for a room closer to an elevator. Opt for self park but pull into the circle drive to check in before moving your vehicle to self parking.
This will be definitely our new go-to spot when we stay in Pasadena. The check-in went very smooth and the people were very friendly. Room service is very reasonably priced... I cannot say how GREAT the valet people were my daughter lost her wallet they found it and returned it to us with all the money left in it... Thank you... When you walk back into the hotel at the end of the day the front desk people say hello to you it was nice... You would not be sorry if you stay here
I enjoyed my time at this hotel. The rooms were nice, spacious and clean. Room service food was good but did take a little while, but was made up with the taste. Staff was friendly with one exception upon check-in. The hotel parking garage is alright, although I believe that some of the trash cans were overflowing. It was in a good location and had everything needed within walking distance nearby.
I loved this hotel and would love to come back. It was in a great location to the shops and restaurants in Old Town. It was very clean and comfortable. The make to order breakfast was amazing and they even took my own slice of gluten free bread that I brought and toasted it in the back for me. I loved the hot tub. The pool looked wonderful too but I didnt use it. The entire outside area was beautiful and relaxing. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend
Loved it! The location was convenient; rooms were attractive, clean and spacious, beds were comfortable, the staff was excellent - everything was spot on! We walked to transit to see the sights, very easy and always felt safe. There are some sketchy spots around town that I do not remember from my last visit, but the location of this place was great. We always felt safe and walked everywhere. The internet was reliable; we did not eat at the restaurant so I cannot comment on that.I loved this hotel and would recommend it without hesitation!
The Marriott Pasadena/Old Town is a very nice hotel and the staff was great. The overall appearance of the hotel inside and out is very nice. We like how you can park your vehicle on the same level in the garage as your room and you can walk right in without having to go through the lobby. The guest room we stayed in was nice and clean but the layout and furnishings can be better. The bed was comfortable though. The other downside is like with other hotels, having to pay a daily parking fee and the price of our stay didn’t include daily breakfast and coffee, like at the other Marriott there in Pasadena. Overall I rate the Marriott Pasadena/Old Town 7 out of 10.
We had to come to pasadena because my Niece krysta had to have emergency surgery on her eye. The Raymond Renaissance surgery center recommend The COURTYARD MARRIOTT. when we came to check in, the front desk workers we so understanding and welcoming not to mention how nice and respectful they are. Since we had to come in emergency we drove from Bakersfield and we were so tired they made everything so fast and easy as far as the check in process, they even gave us a great deal on our Room. They made us feel like family .. The Room was so very nice and CLEAN, and the maids were also exceptionally super nice.. I would recommend This Hotel to anyone and everyone.. Great Job to all the COURTYARD MARRIOTT STAFF (Tiffany) and i didnt get the lady that checked us in last nights name on 01/07/21 .. We are so happy THANK YOU so much for making this stressful time for us easier.. GOD BLESS YOU ALL.. 01/08/21. Yvette & My sister Marlene..
Overall this hotel is great. The staff is phenomenal and friendly and welcoming. The breakfast food is delicious. The courtyard is fantastic nice and relaxing. The only problem that we had is the one elevator was not working and the carpet and the room is a little bit old and smelled a little musty. Overall I still recommend this hotel for a business persons, hikers Rose bowl events
A big part of the reason I chose this hotel was because of the positive reviews. Unfortunately my experience at this hotel was not good. My biggest complaint was that the window in our room wasnt sealed. We were able to hear the street noise all night long! Also, housekeeping was in the hallway early in the morning talking and laughing! Terrible night of sleep. Its an older hotel that has low ceilings, and dreary hallways. The lobby area is very nice, the beds are comfortable and the decor in the room is nice. The bathrooms unfortunately, do not match the room. They are in need of a remodel. The best part of this hotel is the location. We were here to watch a concert and were able to walk to restaurants and nearby bars. I usually stay at Marriott properties and this was the first time I had a bad experience
GREAT CLEAN PROFESSIONAL STAFF. Thanks to Carl, Wayland, Johnathan, Luciano, and Henry the Chef, my stay was very pleasurable. I stay at many hotels around the country and these individuals are the best. I visit this location at least once a year and they are always professional, courteous and should be commended for their hard work and dedication. The rooms are always VERY CLEAN and comfortable. THE BEST PLACE IN THE BUSINESS!
Overall, we enjoyed our stay at Pasadena Courtyard. We could walk to Old Pasadena area, restaurants, and the Norton Simon Museum. We were very close driving distance to the shuttle that drives you to Hollywood Bowl. The room was a nice size with a small refrigerator and microwave. The bed was very comfortable. Internet reception kept dropping off. The room had a musty smell when we arrived. The bathroom sink faucet was a stick and very awkward to use. The walls are thin and we could easily hear the conversation taking place in room next door. The front desk staff and concierge were very friendly and helpful. Valet parking was convenient and each time we called for car, it was waiting when we got to front of hotel.
After we were not put in the two bedroom we booked and not offered a reasonable solution the week just got worse. Oddly stingy with their toilet paper. They also dont seem to be following their Covid 19 protocols listed on their website. There were no disinfectant wipes in the room as was stated on website. A staff member delivered towels to our room and their gloves were in their hands and not being worn. They are at a way higher occupancy than they claimed when we booked. Lobby is not designed to promote physical distancing at the tables and chairs. Poor flooring, you can easily hear people walking above. Customer service poor across the board from front desk and on up the chain.
Location is great but hotel rooms are dated. Staff was friendly and lobby is nice but rooms are a little outdated and are bathroom was not the cleanest.TV was only a 32 which is mounted across the room so you can barely Reed the menu from the bed. Toilet had urine on the side of it. Wall paper and molding had water damage in the bathroom. For the price was expecting more from Marriott. Will stay at other Marriott products in the area next time we visit.
The stay was great. There appeared to be a nice night life in the area since I saw many people coming, going and mingling. The room was really first class. The bed was very comfortable, the tv was great which even new my name when I turned it on. The furniture had nice outlets built in so there was no need to unplug a lamp to charge my iPhone like ive had to do at other hotels, the alarm clock was nice. I noticed another post which mentioned lack of counter space in the loo, and I noticed a little table under the basin that I was able to pull out and use for extra space, not sure if that was a response to that post, but it worked well. The valet staff was awesome, to say the least. The only thing I didnt like was I had a roll in shower and the removable shower head was mounted very high, almost to the ceiling making it very difficult to get down from a wheelchair. This is a common difficulty I experience in most other hotels Ive stayed at as well. The shower head is always difficult to get out of the mount being so high up,Great stay and hotel, Ill definitely be back when I return to the area.
This is the first time weve stayed at a Marriott. We will definitely be staying here again when we visit Pasadena. Check in was very smooth and pleasant. The food at the hotel was reasonably priced and good. My daughter lost her wallet the valet service found it and returned it to us with all the money left in it.
I primarily picked this location because of being a Marriott but am so glad I did. We came for the Rolling Stones concert and upon arrival the entire staff was in Rolling Stones shirts which just made everyone more excited. The staff was excited for people and was prepared. They had a photo booth set up along with fake tattoos for people to grab. They also had packets for everyone that explained how to catch the shuttle, directions to walk (highly recommend doing this instead) and what you can/cannot take into the Rose Bowl (thank goodness as I didnt know you couldnt take a backpack and would have been turned away). The room was great if you are staying longer as well - had a refrigerator and microwave. Perfect location to Old Town, although we didnt get to enjoy that portion. The staff really made this hotel. Highly recommend you look no further if coming to Pasadena/Old Town.
We recently stayed at the Courtyard Marriott Pasadena and the service was exceptional. We arrived early and were accommodated with our room in about an hour. The staff was all pleasant and helpful. Rooms and all of hotel was super clean. It is within walking distance to all of the trendy boutiques and restaurants of Old Town. The only suggestion I would make is to provide safes in rooms.
I stayed here for the Pasadena Half Marathon and was really floored by the customer service. The staff is incredibly friendly and accommodating well beyond standard expectations. I travel frequently for work and stay in a lot of hotels, and this whole experience really stood out to me. Beyond friendly staff, the location is great too. The hotel is right around the corner from a great variety of restaurants, shops, coffee joints, etc. Id come back here in a heartbeat.
I recently enjoyed another pleasant stay at this lovely hotel in the heart of Pasadena. My family and I have stayed at this property a few times over the years when visiting friends in the area. The staff is always pleasant, welcoming, and helpful. The rooms are quiet which is very important to those of us that have flown from PA to CA. At times we have had to work remotely from the hotel and the internet and quiet rooms have allowed us to do so without any stress. The rooms are always very clean and nicely appointed. The lobby barista/bar offers convenience of getting a breakfast item to go in the morning or a drink in the evening. We love our morning coffee and they provide excellent choices of coffee to make in the room. I love this hotel and I highly recommend it for business or pleasure trips.
We stayed for two nights. We arrived early and our room was not available. Tiffany at the front desk checked herself and let us know when room was available. The staff knew us by name from that point on - wow! Since it was a hot day another staff member gave us two complimentary waters while waiting for the room which was appreciated. The room smelled so good (fresh light clean fragrance when we entered). Beds were comfortable and AC worked great. Colors were light in room and modern decor. Breakfast with a variety of omelet ingredients to choose from the Bistro was excellent. We had dinner with an excellent shrimp cocktail and turkey club sandwich one evening in the Bistro. Nice open layout for guests in the big lobby area adjacent to the Bistro seating. Valet parking was quick and responsive. No line to check out. Impressive service from start to finish - the customer service emphasis was evident!
I recently stayed at the Courtyard as I was bringing my disabled father who had grown up in the area back for a visit and walk down memory lane. He requires a handicap room. After another hotel in the area did not have our guaranteed handicap room available on the day we arrived, I was able to find a suitable room at the Courtyard. Not only were they able to accommodate us on short notice but they were able to give us a suite which made the stay much more comfortable. Janeen and Tiffany at the front desk went out of their way to make sure our room was ready and that we had everything and more we needed for our stay. It is clear they genuinely care about their guests and are not just going through the motions. They really take good customer service to a new level! The room was very clean as was the rest of the hotel. The breakfast in the morning was good and the service in the restaurant was friendly and efficient. I would definitely stay there again!
The hotel staff was fantastic and made my stay easy while I was in Pasadena to take the bar exam. The hotel lobby is very nice and comfortable, and the hotel cafe offered a wide selection of items. The rooms are spacious and the bed is very comfortable. The bathrooms could use some updating as well as the air conditioning units. Location is good, about a 10 minute walk to most of downtown Pasadena and very quiet. Overall, I would recommend this Marriott for the great staff, solid amenities and nice, quiet location.
The rooms seemed kind of tight . Im pretty tall and felt I was to close to touching the roof of my room . The bathrooms were a let down for the rate i was being charged . $150 + taxes and valet . The vibe of the room was dated . Honestly the room was unappealing esthetically, okay for the rooms purpose . Valet was easy. Starbucks open from 7am-9am , and the bistro 7am-9am . The bistro has multiple times they are open . Pictures posted .
This hotel was a fabulous combination of downtown walkable fun and scenic views. Pasadena is a great location, but this hotel was very convenient. Walkable to all restaurants, bars and shops while a short drive away from Rose Bowl and local hiking spots away from the hustle and bustle of LA. The staff was fabulous from the start of our stay to the end. We were welcomed by Bernial who went above and beyond to make sure we were checked in quickly, while assisting us with recommendations. Truly a great welcome to the hotel. All other staff members were great, even when the Barista was very busy in the mornings the staff handled with poise and worked swiftly to get everyone taken care of. Great property!
Chose this hotel as a place of rest for a family trip to Universal studios and Six Flags. Made a great choice. The hotel itself is located in a beautiful, quiet clean part of town. There are lots of shopping and dining choices available. The hotel exterior is as clean as the interior. I did mobile check in so our room was ready upon arrival. Parking was a tad expensive (but after researching hotels, I understood this was the norm in California)but we were able to always find parking on the floor we were on and that allowed a short walk to our room. The room itself was VERY clean and surprisingly stocked with enough towels to meet the needs of the five of us. Their Paul Mitchell lemon scented body wash and lotion is one of my favorite things about staying at a Marriot. Beds were comfy, pillows were VERY soft but the room had a great view (my daughter and I could see Forever 21 from our room so thats a great view to us). We ended up enjoying breakfast there both mornings and the food was bery delicious. We ordered room service Saturday night and although my order was messed up the first time, when I called to have it fixed, they were back at my room in ten minutes with piping hot food and very apologetic about the miscommunication. Didnt have any interactions with anyone other than food service staff that were there and they were all very nice, respectful and courteous. Checking out was as easy as checking in and I look forward to another stay here when my family returns.
The Courtyard-Pasadena was a beautiful hotel, located within easy walking distance of stores and restaurants. Every member of the staff was beyond accommodating and quick to do anything necessary to enrich our stay. Our suite was large and very comfortable. The pool area was so pleasant we often didnt want to leave. We visit our daughter often and will never stay anywhere else.
As a Marriott member you get treated well. I never have an issue. I recommend signing up to get those points. But even then the hotel staff is nice and the rooms are clean and comfortable. I would recommend it, the pool is small so dont expect to do a full swim relax by pool service style experience there, especially during a time when a lot of kids are around. But overall I can never go wrong with a peaceful stay.
What a wonderful surprise to have such exceptional service in the heart of Pasadena! We really enjoyed the Bistro in the morning with Starbucks and delicious avocado toast. Everyone at this hotel was so professional, kind and went out of their way to give us a great weekend! The value of this hotel was amazing!
Four of us shared a room, which was spacious enough for all. We were greeted by the valet and guest services -- all were so welcoming and full of knowledge and made us feel special. They took my phone # to let me know as soon as a room would be ready for us -- early check in. They recommended a great place for breakfast down the street. Our room was very comfortable and very clean. We were close to downtown area and enjoyed walking to many different places. During check-out, at guest services they were able to offer a late check out. Every person we encountered at this Courtyard was so courteous. I will definitely stay here again! I cannot wait to go back.
Stayed here for my partners conference. Its an older building that has been refreshed. Suites themselves are fine but the elevator situation is slightly unusual but manageable once you figure it out. (It is 3 banks of one elevator spread across the entire complex)Staff are friendly.Location is great which I appreciated more once I oriented myself properly.Would definitely stay herre again if for business
This location might be good for a quick one nights stay or a weekend stay for something happening in the area, but I wouldn’t stay here if I planned on spending time at the hotel. It reminded me more of a off strip Vegas hotel that would be used to store your belongings if you never planned on sleeping. It’s old and a bit run down compared to the average hotel that I frequent on business trips but is definitely not meant for business people. But that could be just the room I got overlooking the back alleyway, which could only be accessed by a single elevator all the way at the back of the hotel. Just overall poor design. Just glad the client is paying for this.
The staff are great, the lobby and rooms are clean. Has all the basics of a Courtyard situated in a nice area of the Old Pasadena- close to everything. The niceties end there. The room upgrade King Suite is really not a suite. The sofa bed isnt really sturdy or comfortable enough even for a 110 lb female. The real deal breaker for Platinum Guests is that they dont offer complimentary breakfast. $10 credit in lieu of welcome points is all you get. As you all know, $10 will not get you a full meal even for 1 person.Cost is very competitive with the Sheraton nearby- they offer complimentary breakfast.
I had stayed at this hotel before and it impressed me enough to want to stay again. When I come to Pasadena I wouldnt choose any other hotel even though there may be comparable establishments out there but no need to look because this hotel suits all my needs. I travel with my 11 year old son and he loves the place. Its clean, the staff is great and friendly.
We were so impressed with the Courtyard Marriott in Old Town Pasadena. The hotel is excellently situated within walking distance of all the downtown shops, restaurants, and bars. Upon check in, we were greeted by a friendly front desk staffer who chatted us up and offered us out pick of snacks/drinks for being Bonvoy members. The adult beverages were exactly what we needed after a long day or travel. Our room had this great deep couch with an ottoman and oddly, it was our favorite thing about it. My husband actually fell asleep on the couch as opposed to the bed. The TVs were internet TV’s and you can sign in to your Netflix/HBO account. It was a nice touch that allowed us to unwind at the end of the day. Bed was little firm for my taste and the bathroom vanity was too small, but other than that, a great overall experience. The valets were quick to open the hotel doors for you and insisted on getting the car doors. The whole experience had a high-end feel.
This hotel is a very fancy hotel, but that doesnt automatically dictate a five star rating. The biggest point is that the staff go over the top to make you feel welcome. Both the valet and the desk managers will usually greet you when you walk through the front door. The lobby is very spacious and has lots of seating if your room isnt ready yet. The room service is very polite and will ask you if you need anything specific if you run into them. Also optimal walking distance from the Metro, and several good food options available within walking distance as well.
When we entered our room, we immediately had problems. First, our toilet did not work. It was not clogged - it simply did not flush at all to begin with. Next, we could not get any of our phones or computers to connect to wifi. We called the front desk and reported these problems. They were unapologetic but stated they would send an engineer to solve them. The engineer was wearing a mask but got very close to us and even wanted to touch our computer. I felt this was inappropriate given the situation with COVID.He was able to fix our toilet but after an hour trying to fix our wifi, we finally called and requested a room switch. Again, the front desk was entirely unapologetic. Further, it took about 5 minutes of ringing to even get someone to answer the front desk phone. We were placed in another room on the same floor, about 5 rooms down the hallway. Of course, our wifi still did not work.My brother went out to get ice and while walking back to the room saw a police officer standing in the doorway of a room. He pointed the gun at my brother and told him to get back to his room. My brother said “What’s going on?” The officer repeated “go back to your room.” He went back and we called Marriott corporate. They reported that there was a wanted man on our floor who they were extracting. This felt completely unsafe and unprofessional. Certainly, some warning should have been given to the residents. Further we should not have been put into another room when there was a criminal on this floor.SATURDAYWe called the front desk and let them know that we were still unable to connect to the wifi. They promised to send an engineer to look at the problem. Again, no apology. An hour passed, still no engineer had arrived. We were leaving for the day so we stopped by the front desk and let them know that no engineer had ever come. They did not apologize. When we returned for the day, we self-parked. We noticed there were lots of what appeared to be high schoolers or other locals in the parking structure, particularly on the roof smoking weed and taking photos in the sunset. While I don’t necessarily have a problem with this, it does seem that a hotel should have a secure parking garage such that not just anyone can come in and “hang.” There were several reports of car break-ins in the lot which I’m sure is due to this.We returned to our room and the wifi was still not working. We were hardly surprised…We tried to just eat dinner and go to bed early. However, around midnight I was awoken by sounds in the hallway. I came out and there were teenagers hanging out and banging on the machines in the communal laundry room on our floor. Again, I do not think these were hotel residents. Rather, the security is so poor at the hotel that really anyone can walk in. I yelled at them and told them to please go to sleep. Again, this was around midnight.3:30 AM: The fire alarm goes off. We walk out of our room and there is no one to guide us. We rush down the stairs into entrance of the hotel. There is a large group gathered in front of the hotel but not a soul from Marriott to guide us. We are all huddled wondering what is going on. Finally the fire department comes but still no word from Marriott. Then after about 30 minutes, the valet guy says “Head back in.” We re-entered the hotel, seeing people peeping out of their rooms - clearly many had never even evacuated. This response was downright dangerous. Where was the emergency preparedness? What if there had been a dangerous fire? Was Marriott making sure that everyone had been accounted for? We continued our walk back to our room and noticed that nearly every room on our floor had trash sitting outside of it. It was disgusting. When we left we walked by all of the rooms on our floor to the parking structure, The trash was still sitting next to each room. It was disgusting. Clearly, no one was coming to clean. All around, worst hotel experience I’ve ever had in my life.
We stayed at this location due to its close proximity to the Rose Bowl Stadium as we had tickets for the U2 concert. We found the front desk very kind and patient even though the situation was very hectic as the hotel was full of guests looking for early access to their rooms to prepare for the concert. The front desk rep was very helpful and was able to secure our room for access by 2pm (check in is not normally available until 4pm). The room was clean and the bed and pillows comfortable. There were some signs of wear and tear in the bathroom but still clean and no mildew or mold. We found the options for evening food were very limited but the breakfast service was great. This is a solid choice for this area. We really enjoyed the area of Old Pasadena for restaurants and shopping. Overall this was an excellent choice for us.
We had a long drive from SF and were waiting around for the check in, but they ended up letting us check in early. I was so happy that they had a room ready early. The whole staff was very polite and friendly towards me and quick to help! The room service pizza was also quick and good. Also, the employee who delivered it to the room was so nice. They had a fridge and microwave in the room, too. The pool was perfect temperature and the jacuzzi was great. You pay for parking, but with all my comparisons for different hotels in the area, the prices are very reasonable. You get great service and a clean and comfy place. I also like how the parking garage floors coincide with the floor levels of the rooms. I would definitely stay here again.
This was our 2nd visit to the Courtyard Pasadena/Old Town Marriott. The hotel is dated as far as the rooms are concerned but clean and awesome soft towels and bedding. It cant be beat for location. Easy walk to Old Town with wonderful restaurants and shopping all a short distance away. All the staff were so friendly and helpful. The Bistro was amazing. It offered a great breakfast with helpful staff and stayed open long enough for those who choose to sleep in.
This charming downtown hotel is ideally located near the freeway and Old Town. Colorado Blvd lies just minutes away. For us, it is near our Church Conference sight on St. Johns and the valet service offers efficient and professional service. The lobby is very pleasant and inviting with a casual dining offering of either taking it to your room or sitting in the lobby dining area. The menu is very satisfactory. The rooms are nicely appointed with a comfy sofa and reading area. The rooms are very clean and the bed and pillows, sumptuous. Computers available in a central location and the staff, excellently trained. Usually, the room rates are reasonable and the stay, always enjoyable!
I was in Pasadena for the BTS concert last weekend and this hotel truly went above and beyond for the event. Not only was the lobby completely decorated with balloons/lights, but they provided a free professional photo shoot area for fans to take pictures before the concert. The concierge was so attentive to all guests and was one of the most patient people I have ever met. In fact every staff member I interacted with put their full attention toward helping me have an amazing experience. We were also given free breakfast because a staff member thought they may have accidentally woken us up (which was not the case at all). I had been looking forward to this BTS concert for months and the Pasadena Marriott felt like part of the overall experience in the way they they celebrated these artists with their fans. They even provided free snacks with pictures of BTS individually attached to them. That must have taken a lot of time and effort, but they made it happen. Overall, I will never forget this wonderful stay!
We truly enjoyed our weekend stay at this Marriott. The hotel was clean and nicely appointed (as one would expect). What made our trip truly outstanding was the staff. From the minute we checked in we realized we were staying somewhere special. Every single staff member was personable and kind, any need we had was met with efficiency and a positive attitude. We enjoyed every moment here from check in, to breakfast, to check out.
The customer service at courtyard was so amazing. While shopping around for hotels in the Pasadena area it was really challenging find a hotel had everything that we need. When we unanimously decided it was Courtyard we were not disappointed. The friend staff, rooms and it was also near by most places we wanted to visit. Thank you Courtyard Marriott for the amazing experience.
I took my family and my parents for a weekend stay. We were looking everywhere for a hotel. Most hotels in the nearby cities were expensive and the hotels werent that nice. So we decided to stay a little further (10 minutes away) and I found this hotel. I have to say Im so glad we stayed there. The staff were nice and every time I had a questions the front desk were quick to responds. There are also a tone of things to do in the area and things to see. I wish we had more time to explore the area. The room it self was nice. It had a microwave, fridge, and the t.v. had Netflix. The beds, pillows, blankets were soft and fluffy. The room was clean, no odor. Bathroom was a decent size. Parking was nice, however it does cost 22 dollars for overnight stay. Room was also quiet. It was like, we were there by ourselves. Only complaint I have is, I wish they had free breakfast. Lastly, I would stay there again. Next time maybe a little longer, there are a tone of delicious restaurants around the area and things to see. Thank you for the experience.
This hotel is nice. Mini fridge and microwaves are in the rooms. The fitness center is very small and leaves much to be desired, but the pool is very nice. Room service served until 10 pm. No complimentary breakfast. I left my pajama bottoms in the bed sheets one morning inadvertently and the cleaning staff must have scooped them up when they changed the sheets, because they are now missing. I still dont have them and I left the hotel this morning. They said they will send them to me IF they find them. So besides this disappointment, I am satisfied with the establishment.
Great location, just a few blocks North of Colorado Blvd. in Old Town Pasadena. Very friendly, courteous staff was over-the-top helpful, and made our stay better than expected. Sadly, our schedule didnt allow for time to make use of most of the hotels amenities, like the pool and fitness room, but the pool and jacuzzi looked good, and the fitness room is mostly cardio equipment and a few dumbbells. Everything in the room was great though, and I would definitely stay here again.
From the moment I stepped from the Cab until I left I was treated to excellent service, friendly faces, and smiles. The kind of smiles that come within and radiate outward. The staff always asked if I needed anything and made sure my stay was comfortable at all times. Room service was easy to use and I loved the choices given. The food arrived in a timely manner and never disappointed, from how it was plated to the taste. I had breakfast in the bistro and it offered many choices and again the food was excellent. Staff was friendly and always I could not wait to enjoy the meal. The rooms were large and comfortable. It had a nice fresh scent when I walked into the room. The rooms offered plenty of storage space along with a mini fridge and microwave. A large desk to get work done if needed. Plenty of outlets to plug in devices if needs be. Nice large screen TV to sit back and relax. The bathroom area was large, spacious and well thought out. Again a nice closet and storage area. Full mirror so you could see your outfit. Everything was spotless and just comfortable and nice.Check in and out was quick hassle free and they always greeted you when you entered the lobby and made sure you had everything you needed.
Have been staying at this hotel each time visiting Pasadena over past 13 years. Always positive experience. Used hotel for our guests for daughters wedding and other celebrations. Staff extremely courteous, helpful and pleasant. Location in Old Town Pasadena also great. Lots to do within walking distance. Facilities very clean. Highly recommend for business a/o pleasure. Price is right too.
We visited for a football game. The hotel was clean, everything was in great order, and the staff was ultra friendly. Our bed was one of the more comfortable hotel beds I have ever stayed in. the location in regards to restaurants and bars was fantastic. easy walk to anything you heart desires. the proximity to the shuttle was great too, making our football game experience at the Rose Bowl, one to remember. Thank you Marriot, well be back.
Comfy and quiet. Internet, like most hotels, is limited even when included with the business contract. Staff was hit and miss when checked in (missing parking pass, breakfast coupons). Surprised that breakfast coupons still exist. There are so many better and professional ways to manage this. Just seemed very outdated. Room wasn’t cleaned or maintained well but was still cozy. Restaurant area is good. Staff is quick, helpful and adjusts well to the attitudes of the customers.
We had a wonderful stay at the Old Town Courtyard. Probably the most helpful and professional staff I have ever encountered. We were in town for a concert at the nearby Rose Bowl and the staff had prepared a packet of info about the venue which was extremely useful. Every staff member we encountered was courteous, professional and helpful. The room was very clean, very comfortable, and roomy. I would highly recommend a stay at the Old Town Courtyard.
It is not as comfortable as others Marriott.Room feels small with the furniture they have, bathroom has no ceiling fan; which can be somewhat awkward when sharing or showering. The TV is a nice-sized but it functions really slow to change the channels thats even after changing the remote.

2022-04-04I’m only giving one star because I cant give zero.

2022-05-20Highly recommend this location. Then only reason for loosing a star is no real blankets and the hours for cafe etc are not the best. Great staff , nice facility and great location. Some things are really dated but understand that with the way things are resources are limited. We have stayed multiple times and will definitely be back especially because we get to bring our fur baby with us and the great restaurants, bars and shops walking distance away. Highly recommend.

2022-05-24The hotel was nice. However the staff never brought the towels or extra blanket I requested even after calling the front desk. I stayed for two nights and used the hot tub both days . The second time I used it I noticed the water smelled strong like chemicals and so did the other person in the hot tub.We sat in the water for about 10 minutes before we both started coughing and I wasnt sure why at the time but even after getting out I coughed all day and felt ill. I also had worn black shorts that literally got turned rusty red because the color was stripped from the intensity of the chemicals. The hotel management should be more cautious and aware of the amounts of chemicals the public is being exposed to !I had to warn a mom with two young children because they were about to get in . The incident happend to me just a few days ago on 5/22.

2022-05-06I stayed for 2 nights. The rooms are nice, but the walls are a bit thin. You can hear your neighbors talking in the other rooms.I would recommend this hotel to anyone that needs a stay in the area.P.S. I recommend going to the Bistro restaurant for breakfast and order the Omlette Bar.

2022-06-27So so hotel in the Marriott lineup. Dated equipment. Our room is on the first floor right behind the front desk. Noisy and no natural light. Bad lighted room. We also find a spider hanging in the ceiling of the bathroom. Yet the reception refuses to change the room for us saying they have no extra rooms, which is definitely not true as you can still book the hotel anyway.

2022-06-07This is an older hotel that has been updated to a more modern look downstairs but the rooms are still a bit outdated. The room doesn’t have a thermostat but rather an older basic floor HVAC unit with on or off and high or low so it was really hard to regulate temperature. The room was right on the street and even though I was 4 floors up I still heard traffic until late into the night. ATM out of order. Only 1 small elevator. Small things but they add up. Benefit of this hotel is its location which is within walking distance of everything you might need like food or coffee or whatever. If I’m being honest I think I’ll try a different place next time, not that impressed.

2022-02-20The hotel itself, staff and location are all nice. But the doors between the adjoining rooms don’t block sound. So when our very noisy neighbors with kids were up at 6:30 a.m. - so were we. Not what you want on a relaxing weekend away. This was the only issue but it was a big one.

2022-05-25The stay was fine but don’t leave anything behind because it won’t be returned to you even if you call right after you checked out. Housekeeping will keep your stuff. And if it wasn’t them, then they don’t do a good job at cleaning the rooms because my stuff was left in the closet hanging next to the dry cleaning bag. So it was either housekeeping that kept my clothing or they don’t clean and the next guest took it.

2022-01-13I wish theres a 0 star option here. I was in process of moving from other town to here and stayed with Marriott in transit. I parked my car in PAID VALET PARKING and my car got BROKEN into. My co-workers car at the same location got broken into as well which had my stuff as well. All of my expensive stuff got stolen. No serious apologies or action from hotel and they didnt do anything to pay me back. The parking lot doesnt have any CCTV and have like no security at all. Please dont stay with this hotel everyone and experience the same tragedy like me.
