From the east coast to the west coast we stayed in 3 different hotels. This Comfort Inn being the last stop before our destination. If you know the area you know why Barstow is not an ideal area to stop. That aside it was the closest city to where we needed to be. Let me just say this hotel hands down was the best we stayed at. We almost stayed in the hotel next to it because it seemed newer but it was pricey. So Comfort Inn it was and it was the best stay! We stayed for 2 nights and it was not only super comfortable, it was clean and we felt SAFE! We could see our car from the room, it was fenced away from the desert. It’s super super close to the freeway and the shopping center so we were expecting noise but we were able to sleep with minimal noise. The staff was amazing and they had the lowest pet fees from any stay in our trip!!! AND the room didn’t smell!!! Super clean and comfortable. Definitely would recommend!
We found comfort in, after trying to check in down the road at the Ramada and had such a terrible experience we had to leave. Comfort and it was the exact opposite side of the spectrum and customer service that we had previously experienced. They were super sweet, very accommodating, efficient and clean. Our room was fantastic as well as the pool. Highly recommend
Room was clean and comfortable. The staff were nice and friendly. The main thing I didnt like was the electric car charger was closer to the front Door then the handicap parking spots. In my opinion the handicap spots should take more priority over the electric car charger spot!!!!But other then that it was a nice stay.Breakfast was good.
Our room was clean and updated. We requested and got a first floor room. They are pet friendly which is important to us. There is not, however, a designated area to walk dogs. The area is just off a highly trafficked highway and streets. Plenty of fast food restaurants close by as well as gas stations. We would stay here again.
I’m not sure if the local truck drivers dump their trucks here but parking never became available for large vehicles. And the lady at the desk said they don’t confirm if the people are guests. The people upstairs had what appeared to be kids fighting all night. But everything else was perfect we will be back even though we will have to park at the flying J witch they built a wall around just to make sure you got your steps in.
Great staff!!!! They are a top notch hotel!! We really felt welcome there. The rooms were clean and the pool and fitness room are open with appointment. Been a while since we all could enjoy those amenities! We go to Barstow for getaways just because of this hotel. Thats how good they are to their guests!
We had departed from our vacation early and were on our way home so this was an impromptu stay. Ill admit that I didnt expect much from any place in Barstow yet this was the best hotel we stayed at on our entire vacation! The room was awesome, it had a great view, the service was great, and the room was the cleanest and best maintained room wed seen on the whole trip. I highly recommend this hotel if you need to stay in Barstow!
This hotel is AMAZING! Rooms are super clean and nice. The whirlpool in the bathrooms are so relaxing. The bathroom is VERY big and nice. The view from our hotel room was okay but everything else was awesome. The breakfast was good. The front desk person was very nice and offered to help carry our stuff and the baby to the hotel room when elevators werent working. So overall, five stars. Loved it.
Convenient, my room was spacious, decent but not worth $110/night, tight parking, they didnt care that a truck was parked at the red curb blocking the fire hydrant & impeding traffic. In need of some touch ups. I dont know if it was mineral deposit build up in the roll in shower but you can see the outer edge was white & the rest of the basen was dingy. Where the white & dinge met there was a black line that i could scrape up. Yuck! Wore flip flops while showering. The parking was tight but cz we were their early, we managed to get in with some strategic monouvering. When we pulled out in the morning, we found the front parking was packed. There was even an orange truck park in the red at the hydrant in front of us. Fortunately there was enough room to pull out & we missed taking off his rear bumper. Had we gotten there late, that truck would have been in the way & we would have taken off their front bumper. Shame on the hotel for not enforcing proper parking policies. Had there been a fire, that truck was blocking the hydrant. There was more parking in the rear or right out the front door in the cul-de-sac.
This hotel has managed to put together an entire package that makes it my favorite hotel to stay at. The entire hotel is well laid out and tastefully decorated. The rooms are good sized, clean, and comfortable, especially the bed. The rooms even have nice pictures on the walls depicting the surrounding desert landscape which just helps finish off the comfortable feeling. The breakfast selection could be said to be typical Comfort Inn fare, but it is managed by a women who clearly takes pride in presenting a good breakfast to you. I asked, and she confirmed the eggs were real. All in all, quite good. The hotel staff that I have encountered were very friendly and extremely helpful. Rooms were very clean as is the rest of the hotel. There is a small gym, heated swimming pool and a laundry.Located just off I-15, there are numerous restaurants within walking distance as well as an outlet mall if you need some distraction. I find myself always looking forward to relaxing here as I make my way to LA, and other destinations.
This Comfort Suites was probably one of the best that I have been in for the Choice Hotel line. Im a Platinum member and use them every chance I get when I travel for work. VERY spacious, and VERY clean. The staff was extremely friendly, and check in was a breeze. Its conveniently situated next to truck stops, and places to eat. If you dont stop at this one when you are traveling West to East on HWY40 you will need to continue to Needles for the next Choice Hotel option.
The rooms were clean. The staff was pretty friendly. There were times that I went to the front desk and no one was there. I love how Comfort has a room with 2 queen beds and a pull-out. Plenty of room for my family of 6. We usually love breakfast at Comfort. Due to covid, they had fewer options. :( We were a little sad that the pool was closed as well. Also, the bed was a little uncomfortable.
The Comfort Suites hotel in Barstow, CA at the outlets was great! The staff are friendly and helpful. Since the renovation from last year, the hotel is nice and clean. The continental breakfast was awesome everyday! The hot food selection changed daily so you dont get the same thing everyday. The bed was very comfortable and the room was clean upon entry. My wife and I will stay here again at some point in the future!
I was pleased on how the cleanliness of the room I had. I got microwave and reasonable size of the refrigerator. most of the hotels that Ive stayed nowadays does not have microwave anymore , even you request, other hotels will not okay with it and the size of the refrigerator was very small, that you cannot store food for the whole week stay. This hotel was quiet, and had no strong smell of cigarette coming from outside. The area was very convenient to get around, there was outlet, fast food store, easy freeway access and cheap price of gasoline station.
After staying here a few times over the last year, a few moments need to be taken out to compliment John (pictured) at the front desk. He has repeatedly shown his own unique yet effective way of welcoming the guests and making them feel at home. He assisted me when I was locked out of my car. The lady (Lisa or Heidi?) doing the breakfast Monday morning (14 Oct 19) was a hard worker and made sure each guest had what was needed and answered. A-1 service The rooms have been quite clean and comfortable.
The Barstow location was an excellent choice for the 3 nights we stayed. The room was clean and comfortable and spacious for two adults and a dog. Outside was safe for parking our vehicles or walking our dog at night. All the staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast had plenty of variety. We appreciated the thought that went into designing the layout and amenities, including truck/RV parking.
This Comfort Suites Hotel is top of the food chain for Choice Hotels. Its a lovely, classy hotel with a welcoming lobby and large, well-appointed rooms with a wet bar and fridge/microwave. Very comfortable to stay there, plenty of free parking, and a huge hot & cold complimentary breakfast. Oh, and a clock radio with alarm that actually works! The service provided by staff is awesome. Every single staff member that I interacted with had a great attitude: Brett, Sequila, Elizabeth, Jesus, Gabriel, John and others. They were all more than eager to please, thus displaying an excellent management style from both Brett (manager) and Sequila (assistant manager).Direct TV works great, good WiFi, comfy beds...and theres even a managers reception on Tues & Wed with complimentary food and beverages. Pool, fitness center, laundry room too, as youd expect. If youre going to stay overnight in the CA high desert, I d recommend this Comfort Suites highly. Great for extended stays as well.
Weve stayed at this hotel several times in the past few years and it never disappoints us. Its very clean and comfortable. The staff is very helpful and friendly. We have enjoyed the breakfast and this time there was even a taco night which was a surprise. They go out of their way to please. This hotel is also an easy freeway off/on experience between Bakersfield and Arizona.
Such a great experience. We have stayed here before. Love the location, so convenient to several treasures hiding in the desert. The service is always an A+, the rooms are always clean and cozy, breakfast is always appealing; which is a lot to say since my kids are picky eaters. The staff is phenomenal! Always helpful and knowledgeable, I can honestly say they provide the best customer service we have received out of all the Choice Hotels we have stayed at. They make you feel like a welcomed house guest and it makes you want to come back for another stay.
We were traveling from Salt Lake City to San Diego, and this hotel in Barstow was the perfect stopping point. We got a suite that was perfect for our big family. The kids loved the pool. We were pleasantly surprised by the small complimentary dinner. Breakfast was also good. The staff was great. We’d definitely stay there again.
Friendly , great customer service . The rooms were very clean and on the door there was a sign letting you know that the room was sanitized and ready .The reason I gave a 4 star rating was because in room 106 which is a handicap room , the chair in the shower is pretty broken up and you feel like its going to break . Thank you .
My family and I had a wonderful experience at the hotel. We got in late so we didnt use the pool or the fitness center. The lobby was decorated with Halloween Decor which the kids loved. The staff at check in and when we left were efficient and very friendly. We had breakfast in the lobby and it was great. There was a great variety of options and the food was very good. The kids loved the breakfast and they are pretty picky. It was a great hotel, close to the freeway and I would recommend for people to stay here.
I had a great overnight stay here with my family! We arrived late and Billy the night host was incredibly friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast had plenty of options and tasted great. The location is close to the freeway and convenient. I would come again!
We needed a place to stay overnight on a long road trip. This place was perfect for our family. The rooms were big and clean, the beds were comfortable and my teenagers loved that the couch made into an extra pull-out bed. The free wifi was great too. The location was perfect just off the freeway. The breakfast in the morning was awesome and had tons of choices. My picky eaters said it was the best breakfast theyve had at a hotel. The staff was also very friendly. Cant say enough good things about our stay!
Everything and everyone were particularly amazing! Clean comfortable stay, John at check in was very detailed and interactive and Billy at check out made sure we had everything we needed, my nephew forgot hos toothbrush, and Billy gave us toothpaste and a toothbrush Complimentary. Breakfast was the best hotel food we ever had. We came down about an hour before breakfast started to get coffee, and it was cold, but no biggie at all, we went back upstairs to make our own cups of coffee since there is a coffee maker conveniently located in our rooms. Not only are the beds in the room comfy and spacious, my nephew said he loved sleeping on the pull out sofa. The linens for the pull out sofa was also conveniently located and in the closet. The bathroom was clean and fresh and that was the best shower we ever had from a hotel. Comfort Suites in Barstow provided us with a great nights stay. We woke up and were well rested and ready to face our day! Thanks to Billy and John and the rest of the staff that make sure the hotel is a well oiled machine. They are extraordinary!
The stay overall was good. It was me and my boyfriend and our 2 year old. The breakfast was great. The staff was good. The room was nice and spacious and had a microwave and mini fridge which was awesome with the toddler. The hot tub was nice. There was no parking, every spot was taken.... but the lady at the desk allowed me to park right by a camera on the side of the building which was nice. Our room was right by the office so we could everything going on outside our room in the morning. I would stay here again.
Great A/C, very comfy beds. Furnishings all fresh and updated. Quiet, great TV and internet functionality. Hot breakfast has been downgraded to cold breakfast during the pandemic (but thats not their fault.) I liked this place so much that I stayed over an extra night.
This hotel was average as far as amenities are concerned. The weather was too cool to enjoy the outdoor pool. The visual appearance of the place is appealing and comfortable, very clean, and well-staffed. Parking was convenient and the hotel was easy to find as it was just off the interstate. The room was furnished comfortably, the room was quiet, the bed was awesome, the room was clean. The breakfast was good but did not have much for healthy options (sugar donuts, white breads and pastries, small selection of fresh fruit). Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would come back because of the location.
Unfortunately, this was my worst stay at this hotel. I have stayed at this hotel twice before for TDYs to FT Irwin and at nice Comfort Suites in different areas but this one is definitely in need of REGULAR maintenance and deep cleaning. The lobby appears clean most of the time but service is very intermittent. Sometimes water is in the lobby, sometimes it is not. The breakfast is not worth eating and the gym equipment remains broken. I always request an allergen free room but the ac in the room reeked of dogs and it would not maintain any room temperature so I had to turn it off the majority of the time. Before they would inform me no animals were kept on the 3rd floor but animals and kids were constantly running up and down the halls. Other residents would often complain about the noise to me in passing. Housekeeping was only good for making beds and possibly replacing towels. Trash would often be left in the room (even if you left it next to the trash can because it didnt fit) with old bedding they removed from the bed to make it. Had to request that they change the filters and the mattresses were hard and uncomfortable. This stay was extremely disappointing as cleanliness and comfort left much to be desired. Front desk staff often did not answer the phones when you called and you would have to wait for them to come to the desk if they werent already there helping someone check in.
John, the front desk personnel, blew us away with his attention to details, his hospitality and kindness. We ask for some extra shampoo and soap since we had been backpacking for the past week. He not only gave me shampoo and soap, but slippers, toothpaste and deodorant. He helped us carry our bags to the room which was right by the front desk and asked if he could get us anything else. He made sure we were taken care of. He was fantastic! The room was very clean, updated and fresh. The breakfast we had in the morning, was hot refreshing and there was a large variety to choose from. We will come back again. If you keep employees around like John, everyone will come back.
Overall we were very pleased with this hotel. Its the third time we have stayed here and its one of the cleanest hotels around. The rooms are large and the bed was almost as soft as home. Our room faced the freeway and railroad tracks, so there was some noise. We were there during an intense wind storm and that added to the noise. There is a nice assortment of breakfast food.
The staff here were pretty friendly .the rooms are big and roomy. there was an issue but the staff was so great , they handled it immediately and were so helpful.they do taco Tuesday for a small dinner and also on Thursday. what more can u ask for. breakfast every morning and a small dinner on Tuesday and Thursday. I would definitely come back and stay again.
Exceeded our expectations! We needed a place to stay while traveling with my elderly mother and Comfort Suites more than filled the bill. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The staff is friendly and helpful. The breakfast was worth getting up for. We will stay there again and recommend it to our friends.
The staff at this hotel were amazing. Everyone I passed looked happy to be there. Smiles and friendly nods or greetings were the norm. Yvonne at the front desk was such a help to this frazzled traveler. She explained everything to me clearly and in a friendly helpful manner. I was very grateful to her! The hotel was comfortable and professional from the breakfast to the business center. - And we had a fantastic room!
Good place for a short stay. The wifi is terrible, breakfast area and elevators feel like an oven, and the front desk clerk is often not there for 15 minutes. The room and housekeeping was excellent.Update: House keeping did not clean my room today. However, the front desk does seem better on this trip.
We are truck drivers and have been to the best and worst places. This was one of the best. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. The hotel room and bathroom were very clean and modern. The pool and hot tub area as well was clean and nicely maintained. Our stay was restful and quiet in a very comfortable bed. Also BIG thanks for supplying plenty of bath towels. We were able to grab a quick, hot, and satisfying breakfast before getting back to work. Will definitely use this hotel in The future. Thanks for your wonderful accommodations and service.
Excellent hotel! Very clean, helpful staff, good breakfast! We forgot some toiletries and staff were eager to help us. Easy access to freeway and next to gas station...both pluses for us travelers. We travel cross country every summer and stay in a LOT of hotels. This by far was the best!
No blackout curtains and where the hotel is seems during anytime other than winter solstice the light comes in bright as day early. Also people can see in from the outside if the lights are on at night. So no privacy. Other than that hotel was basically what you would expect on a road trip though the desert.
In town for 3 day visit with family. Overall accommodations were great. Probably a little better than I might have expected. Very Pleased with breakfast offerings. We had requested a room opposite side of freeway because some reviews had mentioned road noise. Request was apparently granted and we did not notice any noise from traffic or others in hotel. We slept well and enjoyed the time that we did stay in the hotel room. Did notice that parking spaces were tight and each night when we returned we luckily found the last spot.
+ main lobby area looks nice with a cozy welcoming look.+ the continental breakfast is great. There is a nice variety to choose.+ the room looks nice and the bed is comfortable.- Not willing to negotiate rates with government (military) that are allocated a specific price for room rates.- construction going on that causes a disruption.
I cant say enough good things about this Hotel, e.g., clean, comfortable, quality linens, and large rooms. The Hotel has a great staff thats competent and friendly -- they go the extra mile to ensure guests are very satisfied. They have a great working business center thats always functioning. The housekeeping staff do their best for guests and the maintenance guys are very cordial and efficient. Thus Hotel makes Choice Hotels look really good. I look forward to returning soon.
This hotel is very clean, quiet and a little tricky to find. Easy on-off expressway location once you figure how to get to it. Room was clean, beds comfortable, water pressure adequate, a/c worked well. Quiet for a good nights sleep. Breakfast variety was very good. A shout out to Tiffany for excellent front desk service. She gave me directions once off the freeway when I had to call for help. A shout out to kitchen staff member Lisa for coming to my rescue when I accidentally spilled a full cup of coffee all over the beverage station and the surrounding floor. Both have customer oriented attitudes. Give them both raises...you girls rock!!!
Only stayed at this hotel for one night but it was a great night. Very friendly and helpful and cheerful staff. The beds are really comfortable and everyone in my family slept soundly. Even the sofa bed was nice for my 2 year old. The morning breakfast was really good and all three if my kids actually ate, which never happens. Lots to choose from and it wasnt bad food. There was a pool but we only stayed one night so we didnt get to use it. It looked descent though. Overall this is a great hotel and I would definitely stay here again if we come back this way.
Very clean, quiet, comfortable bed room. courteous staff at the reception desk. easy to find your room.wi-fi worked well, TV was fine. convenient use of the coffee maker in the morning. small in room refregerater worked well. The shower was better than average. overall extremely satisfied for a one night stay after a long day. will use more of the same type of motel/hotel while on the road for a month.
I’ve been staying here off and on for about 7 years. Usually about 4 nights a week, 6-8 weeks at a time. Of all the hotels I’ve stayed at for work purposes this one has been the most consistent on cleanliness and upkeep of the facilities. The staff is always respectful and pleasant. I appreciate the recognition of becoming an Elite, Platnum member on the rewards program, earning free nights stay and sometimes room upgrades when available. I will continue to book my rooms here and other Comfort Sutes in the future.
Not your average Comfort Suites! This place changed the way I think about their chain of hotels. A hot breakfast in the morning and mini dinners at night along with adult beverages. The rooms were nice and well maintained. Not to mention this hotel is priced reasonably compared to surrounding hotels. Would stay here again.
Room was clean, breakfast was above average. Our room wasn’t ready when we arrived (after th check-in time), but the hotel staff gave us access to the pool so our kids could play while we waited which was great. Kept the kids happy. The hotel is being remodeled, but the construction stopped and started at reasonable times so it wasn’t a problem for our stay.
We always have to get dog rooms since we travel with 2 pets. This is one of the few places I’ve had a room for dogs where I feel it is just as clean as any other room! I can’t tell you how much I appreciate that since I have allergies. Our dogs are always clean and well groomed and are not allowed on beds or furniture so I always feel sick after staying in a dog room. However, not at this hotel so THANK YOU for the care you take in cleaning your rooms!
After sitting in traffic for 5 hours we decided to stop for the night. Booked a room last minute with no problem. The Staff was really nice and professional. I was pleasantly surprised at the size and cleanliness of our room. Ee enjoyed the pool and Jacuzzi too. Breakfast the next morning was great! We will be back!
Excellent one night stay. Very nice staff, and the hotel was very clean and well presented. The room was big and comfy. I thought the tv was too small too share between the bed and couch, but I dont watch it that much anyway - just something to consider if I were there for a longer stay. Easy access from the freeway and easy parking as well. The one downside I had was that I kept getting static shocks when I touched my plugged in phone or laptop (plugged into the bedside lamp) which I think had to do with the super static-y sheets (which were very clean and fresh seeming). Also I was impressed by the breakfast. Decent coffee and a bunch of food options.
Excellent in every way. Clean and conveniently located to food and beverage restaurants. Friendly and helpful staff. Great first stop on our vacation road trip. Exceeded our expectations. Not the cheapest rooms, but great value for the price. As a Choice Hotel member upgraded our room at no extra charge (based on availability) and gave us complimentary waters. Other nice little touches like these that made us feel welcomed and leaving refreshed for the next part of our trip! We couldnt ask for more!
I travel tons for work and have become very particular about where I stay. This hotel is at the top of the list for hotels in this price range. This hotel was very clean and i had a very roomy room. Friendly/helpful staff. Close to several food chains and easy/close highway access. Hotel even has food in lobby during the early weekday evenings that was surprisingly very good. Breakfast was better than most places that I have stayed at. Could use a couple more hot food items, but breakfast was good, and breakfast area was very clean and well stocked. The people attending the breakfast area were on point, making sure coffee and creamer was always in supply. Coffee is extremely important to me. Overall a great experience.
Needed a room while traveling over holidays. Selected this hotel because of other reviews and location. They where very busy and having tech problems with machine that programs card keys. But where still very friendly to me and all the other guest I saw them check in. Room was very clean and modern with alll the amenities one needs fridge microwave coffee pot. Very comfortable bed and a very quiet room considering it was freeway close. Its also conveniently located in restaurant row so theres lots of food options and theyre free breakfast in the morning because above average by far for your motel breakfast. I would definitely stay here again.Ive been approximately 16 nights in hotels in the last year of different change this was definitely the nicest of the accommodations Ive had in this price range
I was passing through from Scottsdale to San Francisco and needed a place to stay overnight. I chose this hotel based on reviews praising its cleanliness and comfort. Im glad I did. The hotel and room were very clean. The layout of the room was convenient, and the bed was very comfortable, unusually so for a hotel. I especially appreciated that there were a lot of TV channels available, including several PBS choices. The room had many functioning and available electrical outlets, including several USB ports. Little things like that make a huge difference when youre traveling with a cell, tablet, etc. And, the WiFi worked perfectly. No problems getting on and staying on. They dont have a restaurant, but there are quite a few restaurants very close by (Dennys is right next door), and the staff recommended a restaurant that delivers to the hotel. Checking in and out were a breeze. Andrew, at the Front Desk, is great. Friendly, efficient, and helpful. I have absolutely no complaints about any part of my stay. I will definitely stay here again next time I make the same trip.
We stay in Barstow twice a year coming and going to AZ.First time at Comfort inn. This will now be our go to place.John @ the front desk is a great customer service representative... pleasant and welcoming.Room was clean and comfortable.Breakfast offerings were nice.Priced Right.
We have stayed here about 8 times. The checkin person was so personable and very good at his job. Our room was wonderful, the beds amazing and the breakfast great! We like the location too. They are close to shopping and restaurants and it is easy to get to them across traffic. This is just an all around pleasant place to stay. Highly recommend this motel.
Clean and comfortable room for a reasonable rate. The bed was comfortable and I find rooms with a couch, like this one, even more relaxing. Also, as folks who bring along their own food (and restaurant leftovers) in an ice chest , we appreciate the refrigerator (w/freezer) as well as the microwave in our room.
The hotel is new and clean and was a welcome surprise for a road weary traveler. There were a variety of restaurants nearby and I had dinner a Chipotle. The staff were attentive and thoughtful. I was pleasantly surprised at how nice the rooms were and enjoyed a wonderful nights sleep. I was in the back of the hotel and the room was refreshingly quiet. I have traveled and stayed in hotels and homes all over the world. I would recommend staying here, without hesitation.
I was needing a room for the night and I chose this location for the 2 queen beds and sofa bed and because pets are allowed. The hotels outside areas could stand a cleaning as well as the carpet inside the rooms. The suite we got was spacious and the beds were comfortable
The rooms were spacious and clean and we appreciated the extra couch area. The shower head was fantastic w/ good water pressure but the tub is small and not a good soak tub as the hotel website touts. You cant beat the location w/ a few decent restaurants nearby like Panera and Chipotle. We really enjoyed the outdoor pool after a long day in the car and the hot weather. The pool area was nice w/ towels provided, clean bathrooms, and seating areas so you can enjoy a cold drink while the kids play.
I stayed for my wedding night with my husband as a friend made the reservation for me as a gift so we would not have to drive the whole way to Vegas on our wedding night from San Diego. When we arrived to our suite the room had rose petals, sparkling cider, candies and the towels were folded into swans that made a heart. Everything was wonderful and it was beautiful. The bed was so comfortable after a long day and drive. The staff was wonderful and very helpful with any questions that we had. My friend book the room through Sequila (I hope I spelled it correctly) She was very nice and made sure that our room was perfect. Thank you to the entire staff for making our wedding night stay beautiful and romantic!
The hotel is very conveniently located just off the freeway, and is a very comfortable stay while in the Barstow, CA area. Rooms are spacious and beds are comfortable is a suite-style set-up. Amenities are nice with WiFi , DirecTV. I did not use the pool, spa or gym , but did check them out and they were very nice. Very reasonably priced, and breakfast (with hot food, i.e. eggs , bacon, waffles, potatoes etc, along with the standard continental breakfast items is included in the room charge. A number of restaurants and amenities surround the vicinity near the hotel property for easy access
In my opinion, this is the nicest Comfort Suites in the Southwest. The staff was excellent at every interaction. The room was exceptional. The outdoor heated pool was absolutely the cleanest and the entire outdoor area was A+.The pantry near the front desk was nicely stocked and was a nice amenity that saved us a trip out for snacks.I stay 50+ nights a year at Choice properties and this one rates as my best.
The Comfort Suites in Barstow, CA near I15 is a great place to take a break from the road or stay a few days if your exploring the desert. The staff are some of the friendliest Ive ever encountered in my travels. The facility itself is one of the most inviting and comfortable Ive ever stayed at. The continental breakfast is great! For around $100 a night, you truly do get what you pay for, comfort, eats and relaxing sleep.
Found a gem of a hotel in a place I did not imagine to find such excellent property/accomodations. We were tired and half way through our journey home after spending 4 days in Phoenix. Found this location through hotels.com. We had never stayed in Barstow before. I was expecting good but average and was very pleased to find this excellent hotel! Staff was friendly, accommodating and appeared genuinely concerned about our comfort. The bed was fabulous...housekeeping had crafted a turkey out of a towel (for Thanksgiving travelers) and it was a delightful and unexpected adornment to the room. The shower was wonderful, bathroom very roomy and the suite was very comfortable....found out from the Manager this is the third rated property in the corporation! For good reason....thank you for a restful and wonderful stay. Also, close and convenient to restaurants. Felt safe to walk there (Panera Bread) from the hotel...will stay again and recommend to friends and work collegues.
This is by far a better hotel than any I had expected in Barstow. First class room, large and comfortable with excellent facilities, large bathroom, and additional work and seating areas. Breakfast room was large enough, as is often not the case elsewhere, breakfast was quite good. Staff went above and beyond to resolve what could have been an expensive error on our part making an online advance reservation, and overall we had an excellent stay at a reasonable rate. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel nor to stay here again on our trips from AZ to see family in the Bay area. Nearby restaurants were plentiful, and for those who shop them, there is even a factory outlet mall nearby also.
Good hotel, lovely sunsets over the high desert from our room facing the highway. Plenty of parking and a nice pool and lovely warm spa. Breakfast was good but crowded. Room spacious and clean with plenty of room in the bathroom area. Was a 10 - 15 minute drive to historic Barstow area and museums. 10 minute drive to Skyline Drive -In movie.
This is one of the best stays weve had in a long time. The staff at check-in was friendly, because we are privilege choice members they gave us complimentary water. The hotel is nice and clean. I loved all the channel choices in the room. We had a good time at the pool. We had it all to ourselves in the afternoon, the water was perfect temperature. The hot tub was nice too. The best part was that we got to eat our breakfast by the pool, again, we had it all to ourselves. The breakfast was awesome, so many choices, the breakfast burrito was yummy. Oh, and in the evening if you like, you can go to the lobby and get complimentary coffee or cocoa. Overall, we had a terrific stay and would love to do it again and probably will.
The hotel greeted me as a gold member and offered me a candy bar and a soda because I was a choice privileges gold member. Two-person jetted tub in the suite was really nice and the extra bedroom was also nice for the kids. The staff was nice enough to hold onto my frozen food and put in their freezer overnight. Overall a great stay. Only thing we couldve been better was of the TV didnt work and we had to reset it ourselves which they told us how to do over the phone. The general cleanliness of the room was about it an eight not a nine like I would expect from a comfort suites. I would recommend this hotel for anyone traveling through Barstow.
My husband and I stayed at the Comfort Suites in Barstow the middle of May on a Saturday evening. We had requested a ADA room due to a disability. The hotel in general was nice and the breakfast was very good. The women who checked us in was very kind as well. However, we felt the the room we were placed in was somewhat run down. The carpets looks like it had been replaced in some certain areas and pieced together. The caulking in the bathroom needed to be replaced and the room wasnt dirty, but felt that it had a worn look to it. Even in the hallway leading to our room the carpet and floor was dirty. The overall impression of the hotel could have been better if the room we stayed in had been properly addressed. I dont know what the condition of the other rooms were, but this one was in need of repair.
The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was clean and spacious and had both mini fridge and microwave. There was no charge for parking or Wi-Fi which isnt always the case at other hotels. The breakfast was beyond our expectations. We were able to have waffles, bacon, eggs, fruit, juice, milk for breakfast and that was only some of the items offered. It was hot and fresh and tasty. The beds were comfy and the pillows were fluffy. Thanks for a great nights sleep
This hotel was very nice. Aside from the renovations they were doing. I assume the third floor was completed already and looked good. The breakfast was good. The staff were extremely helpful and professional. The room was clean and comfortable. The hotel was near all the shopping and food places so you dont have to go far for anything if you plan on staying here for awhile.
From the moment I entered the hotel lobby, I was impressed. The amenities are great, the staff very friendly, and helpful, and the rooms are spacious and well appointed. My only complaint would be that the pillows are way too thick. Generally hotels provide two density of pillows... Soft and smushey and firm and thick. There was no option, and I woke with a stiff neck. This location, while literally right next to the highway, is quiet inside, and very close to some decent restaurants.
The breakfast here is great as it has lots of variety and if you need dinner there are plenty of restaurants around. The gym is still lacking but the treadmill has been fixed and they have a laundry room which is reasonably priced. The beds are also really comfortable with a good cable selection for watching TV. My only issue was the 40 minute drive to Irwin but granted theres nothing at Irwin it was worth the drive for the comfortable bed and breakfast.
I recommend this Comfort Suites highly. I stayed 3 nights and was very pleased with the staff, the cleanliness of the room, the lobby and breakfast area. Someone was always at the desk as I came and went, which made me feel safe as I was traveling alone. My son and his family stay for weeks at a time when they visit Barstow.I am shopper so the Tanger Outlets were very convenient. Lots of places to eat, anytime of day or night.Great place to stay.
Excellent Experience! Our room had two queen beds and a sofa bed. A must for a family of seven. Easy, quick check-in. Rooms were wonderful; extremely clean and comfortable. Called for extra towels and they arrived within minutes. Breakfast tasted good. Quick checkout. Thank you for your service to our large Family.
This is my third time staying here while passing through between Scottsdale and San Francisco. I am happy to know that I can count on this hotel to always have clean rooms, very comfortable beds, and excellent service. I also appreciate that there are a lot of TV stations available in the rooms, including several PBS choices. And, the many functional and well placed power outlets and charging docks are very convenient. Little things like that add up to a reliably pleasant stay.
We stayed in Comfort Suites, Barstow, CA in June 2015. This was an awesome hotel! When we checked in, the Staff was very friendly and helpful. We struck up a conversation very quickly. Very sweet!! We were extended an upgrade. Our room was wonderful. It was extremely clean and spacious! Very quiet! We had WONDERFUL internet, which is really important to us . . and plenty of plugs for all our electronics! Everything looked brand new, even though we were informed that it was actually 5-6 years old. It has been kept extremely nice . . it really did look brand new. Carpet and drapes and everything looked new and not worn at all. The bathroom was AWESOME! It was extremely spacious! Actually had a Jacuzzi AND a bathtub/shower combination. That particular night, we had been hiking and I used the Jacuzzi and it was wonderful. Lots of jets . . great for the back and feet. The bathroom was also shut off completely, with a door, from the rest of the room. This was great because I am the early riser and I didnt even bother my husband at all with lights or noise. The bathroom was also spacious enough that I could actually put my suitcase IN the bathroom. The breakfast was also very nice. A good assortment of food. This was an AWESOME HOTEL!!!! We enjoyed our stay very much. HIGHLY recommend his hotel. If we are ever in the area again, I will definitely be seeking it out again! THANK YOU for such a wonderful stay!
We stayed here on the way back from a week long camping trip. It was very easy to find, and has lots of restaurants with in walking distance. They are currently renovating much of the hotel, so there is a lot of the lobby marked off. However, the rooms themselves seem very clean, and the tub was perfect for soaking. They even have tea in the rooms along with the normal coffee, though the coffee was not very good. The breakfast was served in a conference room. I assume this was due to the construction. The room was small with very limited sitting area. The breakfast itself was nothing special, a typical continental breakfast. After breakfast, we gathered up our things and went to check out. There no one was at the counter to check us out. After waiting several minutes we tracked down an employee who brought somebody to check us out. I would not recommend staying at this hotel, at least not until after they finish the construction.
Clean and convenient. Staff is super. Room was nice sized with sectioned off sitting/working area. Didnt like that the desk was positioned on opposite wall from TV. Speaking of TV, the Direct TV service is good with fully functional Guide. Free breakfast, happy hour specials on certain days, Ill stay here again.
We arrived late at night, and the front desk attendant kbowen (name on the receipt) was awesome! Very great personality, and very friendly. I work at a hotel so I kind of criticize hotels when I get in my room, but this room was awesome. Very spacious and very clean. Very comfortable stay. I wish I was staying for longer than an overnight trip. I felt very comfortable staying at this hotel.
Everything is awesome at this hotel. Quiet location despite being adjacent to the highway. Big spacious rooms with equally spacious bathrooms. Bedding is super comfortable and luxurious. Handy on site laundry for guest use. Close proximity to dining options in Barstow outlet area. Short walk to outlet malls. Complimentary breakfast serves really good hot and cold options - not your typical continental breakfast...its 100% great! Staff are super helpful and really friendly.
Serves breakfast at an early time 5:00 am which is perfect for people who work in the morning. Even make dinner for free on Tuesdays and Wednesday night 5:00pm - 6:00pm. Little gym and pool. What really shines are the rooms are clean comfortable. Great showers and beds. The staff are friendly and helpful. I’ve stayed in a lot of hotels and they really care. I’m going to continue using them until work moves away.
On our return trip from Flagstaff, AZ to Redwood City, CA, we needed an overnight stay to break up the long trip. We were pleasantly surprised by Comfort Suites hotel in Barstow. Nice spacious room (King bed) on the quiet side of the hotel, right across from the Outlet Center so plenty of restaurants to choose from. The breakfast was great and especially thought the fresh blueberries were a nice touch!!Staff was extremely friendly.Definitely good value for the money. We made a res on the phone while driving (you are in the desert after all) and albeit the reception was not all that great, the agent was patient and polite and stuck with it until we had all the info. Definitely will stay here again on our future trips to AZ
Great place to stay on I-15. This is the third time my wife and I have stayed here. Usually we travel with our pet however this time we were solo and with the exception of the flooring tile work (in the entry) the room was wonderful. It was very clean and comfortable. Since I am in the flooring business I guess I pay particular attention to flooring detail and this entry is bad. With that said, we will always stay here when in the area.
For a somewhat extended business stay and a corporate booking, the hotel was a fine choice in almost all circumstances. Location was suitable and not inconvenient if a bit distant from our worksite, but a very good choice based upon a look at the other options. Facilities and staff were welcoming and responsive, and the rooms comfortable and clean. The in-house laundry worked efficiently for me, although the iron-ironing board combination provided in the room was not convenient or even well thought out for ease of use although probably successful at reducing losses of such items for the hotel - no one would want this in their home. Beds and bedding were very comfortable. Ive had smoother hotel internet interfaces but the internet offered no issues once logged in. The in room tv was a hassle as it seemed to need a daily reboot, meaning that it was impossible to just walk in and tune in to whatever program you were interested in. Only real disappointment was the hotel websites deceptive photo of the outdoor pool which suggested a larger and more useful one than actually exists.
After being on the road all day, this property was just what we needed. Great location, kind staff, room had lots of space and was very clean, and a great breakfast selection. If passing through, I would definitely stay here again. We booked a different location on our way home with a sister hotel because we were so impressed.
Wherher traveling between CA and NV, or just stopping by to enjoy the outlet shopping, this is the best choice of hotel in the Barstow area. The rooms are clean and spacious. The (free) breakfast has the best variety. And, John at the front desk is so friendly and makes sure he makes each guest feel welcomed and appreciated.
This was our first time at the hotel in Barstow and we were very impressed with the entire facility. It was a wonderful change from our previous visits to Barstow, a stopping off point for our annual trip to Arizona. The checkin staff was very personable, helpful and professional. Our room was clean, the air filters on the A/C unit were clean (in most hotels we end up washing them clear of the lint and dust accumulation!). This obviously new unit was bright, clearly well designed and had the staff on board to be very supportive. We will be sure to repeat a stay for our next time in Barstow.
We really enjoy our stays at this Choice Barstow location. The staff is outstanding and the service is very good. In fact, the staff are very pleasant and professional and work hard to ensure guests are comfortable and see to it that our needs are met. The BBQ grills, pool, spa and fitness areas are well-maintained.There are two nearby Starbucks Coffee locations for some much needed tasty coffee. Grocery stores are a 10-15 minutes drive North on I-15.
Really enjoyed my time here. Was driving from Nevada, felt really tired and decided to get a hotel room before I got to L.A., California.Receptionist area is very clean and tidy. The hotel is under construction. However,Its very nice and very clean, the room wasnt overpowered by paint scent.
The inn is just off the freeway, but far enough to not have any ambient noise. The check-in process was smooth, prompt, friendly and professional. I was upgraded to a very nice king suite. The room was large with sofa and sitting area. The TV was a large and offered all of the channels one could possibly want. The room and bath were spotless. The bed was comfortable an offered an excellent nights rest. Breakfast was offered, and included, just off of the lobby. The staff kept the food fully stocked with fresh hot items, buns, bread, muffins, fresh fruit, juices, coffee, etc. The best inn breakfast I have ever eaten.I would highly recommend this inn to any friend or family. Stay there! You will not be disappointed.
We could tell right away the Staff and Management took pride in what was presented. As soon as we walked in, we were met wth Halloween decorations in the lobby and “Taco Tuesday” in the dining area with beer and wine. Great Experience! Makes us want to come back. We used our Choice Rewards Points for booking and were delighted with the quality of the room. Thanks!
This is a prime example of why not to avoid 2 star hotels. The staff was great, the accommodations were just what we needed, and the breakfast was great. I was so excited to find a hotel room that could fit 5 people, in a convenient location, and for a great price. We got a 2 queen basic room, and while I wouldnt consider it roomy, it wasnt cramped...except for when the pullout bed/couch is out. Then its tight in that one area. The bathroom was larger than I would expect for the size of the room, and that was nice. (I would probably feel a little cramped if most members of our party were large in size, though.)
We stay here approximately 4 times per year on our trip to Colorado from San Diego, CA. It is convenient, safe, comfortable and fairly priced. The hotel has undergone some renovations and looks a bit more updated. We always leave early in the morning and have only enjoyed their breakfast once. But, it has many things to offer. We travel with a 75 pound dog, who seems to be getting used to this hotel. There is a $15 fee per pet and they have a dog area in the front of the hotel equipped with dog waste bags, although it seems some people dont use them so beware.
Everything was excellent. The staff is the friendliest bar none. This goes from the front desk to house keeping and everyone in between. Theres always a smile and appropriate greeting. If I ever stay in Barstow again, I will book this hotel. The area is also very convenient with numerous choices for food close by and, if you like Outlet shopping, theres a big center down the street. I strongly recommend this hotel.
Ive stayed at this hotel multiple times in the last six months, and it is a wonderful place to stay. The staff are friendly and recognize me when I walk in the doors. It is my favorite hotel near Barstow, Lenwood, and even Victorville. It is comfy, and quiet, with nice sunset views over the desert (and freeway). I discovered the pool and jacuzzi when I was there in February and it was quiet and relaxing. I prefer the smaller king rooms facing the west, but the queen and larger king rooms are perfect as well. The hotel really feels like home after a couple weeks out there and I would recommend it to anyone- business, and personal. The eateries nearby are all fast food so drive to Barstow for some healthier foods and check out Idle Spurs and get a steak!
Resonably priced and comfortable. Very helpful and kind staff. Went out of their way to help our children get tacos on Tuesday evening when we arrived. Room overlooked overnight truck parking lot and noise was constant but not terrible and didn’t interfere with sleep. Light sleepers might consider ear plugs b/c the parking area is there to stay.
I am a Choice Privileges member and reserved, online, a suite for 20,000 points. We looked forward to staying here, as in the past had an outstanding experience! We walked into a remodeling, construction, no Choice greeting or mention that cookies were served at the coffee and water station. We went up to our room on third floor, and found the room with a small entrance, hard to enter with our bags. The room was crowded, and chopped up. this was very different from the suite we stayed in in the past! I felt it would have been fair to reduce the amount of points for the stay during remodeling. We again, were very pleased with the great breakfast variety offered
Prior to our later than expected arrival, the front desk staff was in contact with me via text messages. When we did check in, I was pleasantly surprised as they had actually upgraded my party to a family suite for the same price. The breakfast buffet was delish! I dont even like buffets. This was my second stay at this hotel and I have been satisfied both stays. When I travel back to Kingman again, I will stay here.Thank you,Penny
My husband and I stopped at this hotel during a drive from San Francisco to Phoenix. The location - just off the freeway and very close to an outlet mall - was perfect. Room was large, comfortable, spotlessly clean. Excellent soundproofing - we never heard the freeway nor sounds from other rooms. Very comfortable bed, good free wifi. Free breakfast was more than adequate with fruit, yogurt, cereals, bagels and some hot items (which I didnt eat) plus of course coffee, tea, juice. Based on this experience, I will seek out Comfort Suites in the future and when I pass through Barstow again, this will be my hotel of choice.
The service here is just outstanding. These people really apply themselves to making sure everything is taken care of and that all needs are met. In addition, not a single staff member missed a beat in making my wife and me feel comfortable and relaxed with plenty of smiles and genuine good mornings. We would travel 50 miles out of the way to stay here again if need be, the next time passing through. The girl Melinda who checked us in took it upon herself to be fully dedicated to her role in satisfaction. Never before have we seen anyone do hotel breakfast like it was a sit down restaurant. My wife and I travel a lot and this is by far the best placed we have stayed, ever, under 350 dollars.
Spent one night here on our way home from California. Our room was clean and comfortable. The pool and spa were relaxing and not crowded in the morning. Breakfast was decent nothing fancy, but plenty of selection and filling before we hit the road to head home after check out.
I came to Barstow expecting NOTHING. Sorry but it is Barstow. And I was having some issues with my car that I thought had been resolved in Ontario but had not. I was anxious and unsure what I was going to do. Right away, the gal at the front desk reassured me that whatever the staff could do to help me they would do. And she upgraded me to a beautiful room, to boot. Any time I needed to extend my stay another night, the staff was wonderful. And I know the hotel was crowded and booked, too. I like the location also because with a car having issues, I did not have to drive far to get food, with so many places to eat within minutes. The only thing I did not like was the Halloween spider decorations at the front desk. But the breakfast was yummy with lots of options. A lot of times at hotels, I do not even eat the skimpy breakfast because you get tired of the same old same old stuff. But this hotel had bagels, croissants and various other breads, muffins, galore as well as eggs, potatoes, sausage AND bacon, a real treat. The only other thing was that the housekeepers were kind of skittish about my dog who is a sweet dog. I did not leave her alone in the room and I did not have them come into the room. One day I got a call though, they thought I left the dog in the room, when I had not done so.
Your managers; Rochelle and Yvette (as well as the rest of the staff) are the nicest, most courteous and truly professionals hospitality people in the business. The cleanliness and security of the building and grounds are very good. Food and breakfast areas were good. Enjoyed our stay. Good to know that we have a home away from home experience when in Barstow. For years, I used to stay here very, very often while I taught classes at Fort Irwin, and I would assuredly tell your staff to, take care of the house while I was gone. And confidently know, it was. Thank you.
The hotel exceeded my expectations in alll respects. The rooms are very nicely furnished (modern decor) with lots of counter space and quiet AC. The hotel location is great as we could walk to the restaurants and outlet malls in the evening. The breakfast provided all the usual items along with potatoes. Very clean hotel with ample parking. In summary, the hotel provided excellent value for the room rates.
Very happy with our stay once again! We come down every holiday to our hometown of Barstow each time making our reservations with this hotel only. We stay for a week or two at a time and this hotel has had solid friendly customer service from all staff during our stay. The breakfast is nice because of its wide variety of choices. The rooms are very clean, great beds, hot tub baths in the suite rooms, pet-friendly, perfect parking for all types of vehicles, heated pool and spa, gym, laundry room, and close vicinity of food and gas.We do not stay in Barstow because it has gone downhill and can be scary at night. This hotel has done renovations and it has continued to keep up a wonderful clean environment.Very happy with the manager Brett who treats his guest with a very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable attitude. You can tell this hotel really cares about its guests and employees. Very hardworking staff.Thank you for your hospitality.Tristan Howard Edgar Acosta and family
Have always stayed in this hotel when heading southwest. When we first started staying there years back it was spotless and nothing to complain about. Front desk is always great. What we noticed are little things that indicate a hotel is slipping, not quite as squeaky clean as usual and the breakfast was really lacking. Orange juice was watery, we made the lady aware. She had to get help to fill with more juice but was not friendly. Three of them loudly visited during our whole breakfast, could be heard from the back room where they are. We had to run lots of juice through to get it right. Eggs were dry and rubbery, just not up to par. We travel a lot and hate to see hotels start to go downhill as they age. We would stay there again though, so far.
The Comfort Suites is a nice value. I usually stay in the 2 bedroom suite because my husband snores so loud. The hotel is convenient and very comfortable. I like to stay over night when I plan a shopping trip to the Outlet Mall. The hotel is in a good location easy to access restaurants and shopping. In the morning they offer a nice breakfast. Also, if your up for it.... the pool is awesome. Just the right temperature even if the weather is chilly.
We were not thrilled about the idea of staying in Barstow, but wanted to get an early start across the desert because of a major heatwave. We had low expectations about the hotel and were unsure whether our vehicle (and we) would be safe there. In fact, the hotel was beautiful and the staff was wonderful. The parking lot was well-lit and protected by a wall. We felt very safe. Our waitress at the Dennys next door was also terrific. We enjoyed the swimming pool, the staff and the breakfast very much would be eager to stay there again.
My stay at this hotel went above and beyond my expectations for staying at a hotel long term. Im a traveling professional and I was working in Barstow for 3 months. I usually use Airbnb, but there was none available. The hotel provided breakfast every morning and dinner 2 nights a weeks. Hotel was clean and well kept. Will definitely be back.
I have stayed at many Comfort Inns and Comfort Suites over the past several years. This property, by far, is the best I have found. From the time we checked in until we checked out, it was great. Every staff member was ready and anxious to help. Lobby, room, and breakfast area were very well maintained and very clean. They have set the bar pretty high for other Comfort Suites we will stay at in the future.
One of the best hotels Ive stayed at! In Barstow, I wasnt expecting it to be so nice and clean! The staff were awesome and very helpful. We got upgraded to a two bedroom jacuzzi tub suite and the room was perfect! Enjoyed the tub immensely, so did my service dog! Will definitely stay here again!! Very much worth the price!
I was born and raised in Barstow and return to visit my mother. My family always stays at the Comfort Suites by the Factory Outlets. The rooms are clean. The staff is always helpful and so kind. They always have great manners. There is always a hot breakfast in the morning. I highly recommend this hotel.
We have stayed at several different hotels in the past but once having found the Comfort Suites we always come back. The staff are always friendly and professional, the suites are consistently clean and comfortable, and gas, food, and shopping are close by. My only con is that the breakfast, while including a nice variety of hot and cold items, sometimes needs more attention (for example, cold dry eggs).
I really liked this hotel. We race motorcycles out at Grange Motor Circuit about 25 minutes south of this location and this was a great place to come back and relax at. Smoke-free facitlity, clean rooms, big bathroom, comfy bed, wi-fi, friendly staff, its all here. We used to stay at the Motel 6 in Victorville but decided to try this hotel for this last race. I will say, we will be making this our new hotel to stay at when we race out there. Perfect place!
This was our first experience with Comfort Suites and we were pleasantly surprised at the quality of service, accommodations, complementary breakfast, and most of all the quality when compared to the price we paid. We thought it would have been much higher than it was.We stayed in 10 different hotels on our travels thoughout the southwest in an eleven day span. I would rate this experience as one of the top hotels that we enjoyed. I would definitely recommend others to stay at one of your hotels if the quality was equal to the one in Barstow.
We needed a place to stay about halfway between Flagstaff and the Central Coast of California and Barstow met that requirement. We were not expecting much based on previous stays in the area, but we were absolutely amazed at the overall quality and service that we experienced at the Comfort Inn and Suites in Barstow. The service was top notch with extremely friendly and helpful check-in staff, the accomodations were very comfortable with great beds and a large room, and the breakfast was outstanding. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable and affordable place to stay in the California desert.
Not a comfortable experience. As I stated before. Pillows were not comfortable, they were square and not standard side making it hard to fall asleep. Also the heater was a wall unit right next to the bed blowing on my feet. In the middle of the night cold air started coming out for some reason and it startled me awake. The room is huge, so I don’t know why the bed has to be right next to the window and heating unit. I did not like that I had to park far from the entrance. I had my seven-year-old child and arrived late in the night. I asked the front desk if somebody could help me and she informed me that she was the only one there.
Went for the room with the jacuzzi/whirlpool tub so my wife and I could relax. Liked the quality of the hot breakfast which was pretty complete.I already know what Im getting when staying with the Choice Hotels chain in general and it is nice to see a Comfort Inn and Suites in Barstow, CA.Please note you do have a variety of dining options within the general vicinity you can walk to from that location.Highly recommended if you want to do it right after a long drive and unwind a bit.
Upon check-in, we were asked which floor & side of the hotel we preferred. Being unfamiliar with the hotel (and tired from the road), I indicated no preference. We were issued a room directly above the pool. The noise from the pool was very clear through the window and air conditioning. When I asked to be moved, the front desk manager [blonde, white male] claimed the hotel was booked up. I avoided discussing the previous employees room location offer, and after he pretended to search for a room, he found one. (Miraculously, it was directly across the hall.)In this room, I found an unidentified stain [PICTURED]. After scouring the entire room, we decided that sleep was more important than dealing with this guy again. The remainder of the room was clean, but thankfully we brought our own linens and pillows anyway. I assume this hotel does fine otherwise, but there is no reason stay here with so many other options.
I use the Comfort Inn in Barstow at least twice a year and the staff have been unfailingly kind and helpful. Most of the Comfort Inns and Suites have been excellent, clean and well-managed. They provide a good service for a medium price and I am happy to be a Choice member and plan to use these hotels when I travel. In general, I do not care for the breakfast items afforded. I am not an early riser so the steam table items are a little tired when I get there so I generally eat elsewhere even though its an extra expense. I dont think there is an answer to this one and I think my fellow travelers would disagree with my assessments. Breakfast rooms are always very busy when I pass through the lobby in the morning.
Needs some work. The hotel is currently being remodeled so current expections of appearance should not be too high. Recommend keeping some quarters on hand if you think you will need to do laundry. I was unable to get change from the front desk. The breakfast was fine, good selection to grab a quick bite in the morning. After remodeling is complete I would probably stay again.
Pros: well lit parking and dog walking area; charging stations, built-in seat in the bathrub. Cons: room wasnt ready at check in time and I had to work hard to find the check in clerk. The substitute room had unpainted wall repairs. One of the beds is right up next to the window HVAC unit, which started out being normally loud but got louder and rattling overnight. The coffee in the dispensers at breakfast wasnt hot but the fitness room was too hot. And the place seems expensive for where it is.
The breakfast choices is one of the bests I have experienced in any hotel/motel. The Manager that took over last year did a great job to change what was a horrible and poor quality breakfast choices to great and quality choices. If that manage can do something about the parking situation, I may stay there again. Because the parking is essentially non-existent, I will have to find a different town to layover on my trips
My 14 year old son said This is the best hotel! The pillows were comfy, the room setup was perfect, the additional toiletries were a plus...even the face wash wipes! The room was very clean and the staff was very friendly! If we are ever in Barstow we will definitely stay again! Thank you!
I had read the reviews before booking this hotel and I am glad I did. Although the hotel was a distance from the where the training was taking place, it was worth the travel everyday. The staff was friendly and the hotel/room clean. They had a fitness room and pool. The only thing I was not impressed by was the breakfast but there were several choices of items to eat and I always found something (to eat) to start my day. The internet service was good. I liked my room from the television, the kitchen area (sink, frig, microwave), the shower to the desk.
I do a lot of traveling for work and have stayed at numerous hotel chains, and I must say I have been very impressed with Comfort Suites updates over the years. My family and I stayed in Barstow on our way to the East Coast and the hotel was very clean, and the staff was friendly and my kids said they loved the breakfast (they actually let me sleep in a little). We love how spacious the rooms were and with 4 teenagers we all were able to sleep comfortably! I would definitely recommend this hotel.
Had another great stay at the Comfort Suites!!! Everything was excellent and my mother and I had a great time in our beautiful and comfortable room, poolside and in the lounge. We really enjoyed watching the sunsets through the large picture windows. The evening cookies were fresh and delicious. Thanks for everything.
After an exhausting and difficult Christmas Eve (which started with a fun family gathering and ended with my husband in the emergency room), we arrived at this hotel after midnight. The night manager was wonderful; he was kind, friendly and energetic- all of which were much appreciated following my unexpected Christmas eve circumstances. The lobby was beautifully decorated for the holidays; the room was well-appointed and clean.
This was my first experience with Comfort Suites, and I was very impressed. The hotel is well located, situated near the freeway and within walking distance of outlets and many fast food restaurants ( one full service restaurant, Chilies). The hotel was immaculate, and on our bed were 2 pillows with an explanation that one was firm and one soft. That was a nice touch. We arrived on one of the 2 nights during the week that dinner was served ( included in the price of the room). The lobby was filled with people seemingly enjoying sloppy joes & chips, with beer & wine offered. Most inviting was the lemon water available at arrival and 3 different cookies when we arrived back from dinner. There was a full breakfast ( minus fruit) with 2 kinds of scrambled eggs. My only disappointment was an apparent lack of green principles. for example, the plates for breakfast were not recyclable. When I mentioned it to the person at the desk upon leaving, he seemed rather apathetic. Otherwise, this seemed to be a cut above other highway hotel chains.
At the time of my visit in late June 2018, this location was under extensive renovation. As a result, the parking was limited due to construction and equipment and supplies throughout the lot. Furthermore, the 2nd floor on which we were placed was disgusting. There were active renovations going on throughout the hall and debris everywhere, not to mention the noise. There was a smell throughout the hotel that seemed to be a mixture of chemicals and paint. I understand some renovation and construction but this was above and beyond. We really wanted to stay but could not as it triggered asthma. Unfortunately, the hotel was unwilling to refund the cost as it was pre-payed. The location was great and convenient and the lobby was nice, but the room seemed to be renovated with the poorest quality/cheapest materials they could find. It is clear this hotel does not care at all for its customers comfort or safety. There are several better hotel options very close.
My wife and I stayed there with our three young children. Usually hotels charge more for kids, but the price there was the same. Best of all the room was huge and the pull out sofa bed meant every person in our family had a bed and no one had to sleep on the ground, or fight about who was going to sleep on the ground. The breakfast was excellent and once again, with a five person family, we saved a ton of money not having to pay for a restaurant to eat at.We didnt have time to use the pool, but I put my hand in the water and it was heated. Its an outdoor pool and the weather was chilly, but the water was plenty warm. Plus a nice jacuzzi.
This hotel was a perfect place to break up the drive from San Diego to Hoover Dam. EVerything was fresh and welcoming. The hotel is 11 years old but was updated fairly recently, I was told. Very quiet area even though it is close to the highway and many eateries and a big outlet mall.
This is the only place to consider when passing through Barstow. Arriving at this hotel is like getting to an oasis. There is a smiling person behind the desk, a big container of cold lemon water and a cool, comfortable room. The swimming pool is welcoming and there is always ample parking. I especially love the bed and pillows.
We stayed here one night on our way to Arizona. It was great. Upon check-in we were offered a beer or wine and tacos for Taco Tuesday! The staff was helpful and the breakfast the next morning was perfect. Plenty of options for my kids and wife. We liked it so much that we stopped there again on our way home!
Stayed at this hotel for one night as a stopover while travelling from San Diego to Vegas. Hotel was conveniently located near the interstate so we did not waste any time getting back on the interstate the next day. Room was very spacious, clean, and comfortable. Breakfast area was clean and well stocked with a hot breakfast (eggs, bacon, sausage, waffles). Price was very reasonable - great value. There were many choices to eat and gas up around the hotel. Staff was friendly and attentive. Would stay again.

2022-01-05After staying at what felt like an unsafe and noisy location (Best Western Desert Villa Inn), I was determined to find a better hotel on our return trip back. Even though Comfort Suites was a little out of the way, we felt safer and had a better stay overall. We stayed in the basic 2 queen beds room and I loved the layout of the room. It was spacious, with a wet bar, a couch, and a wall divider between the bed and living room area. Theres also a large shelf and towel bar at the end of the shower which is great for travelers. The only things that needs improvement is the switch by the bathroom mirror was dirty and is located in an inconvenient place-- I kept knocking the hairdryer off trying to get to it. Also, the fan vent in our bathroom didnt work and paired with a door that wont stay open, it got really steamy. I had to use a towel to prop the door open. But other than that, we really enjoyed our stay here especially since I was allowed to bring my 2 small dogs and 3 small birds. It was $15 per pet, per night-- and since my birds are small they got to count as one pet.If all the Comfort Suites are similar with their room layout, service, and pet policy, Ill definitely use them again for all the road trips we have to take!

2022-02-06As always it is just a great stay Everytime. So extremely clean and professional. Great hot breakfast. Great customer service. Have stayed many hotels and this is by far our favorite. Hilton has nothing on comfort suites in Barstow. The customer service is definitely the best and gets better every stay. Thank you Nicole, Tori and all the staff for another great experience.

2022-01-12It was great! The room was spacious enough for our dog. He enjoyed his stay as well. Although the dog did not like the elevator, everything else was perfect. Felt safe. Great customer service! We didnt mind walking our dog around outside for his bathroom break.

2022-03-03We stopped here during a cross country drive. This was a very comfortable stay. Clean. Quiet. Very professional. They were pet friendly, and my cat was comfortable as well. They also serve an outstanding breakfast in the morning, which was very much appreciated!

2022-07-03Room was spacious, lots of outlets for cell phones and computers. The refrigerator was clean and set to keep our things cold. The thermostat was on the wall so we could adjust it easily and staff was so nice. They have a small store to purchase food items. And serve breakfast in the morning.

2022-03-09Nice, clean and new. Decent continental breakfast. Friendly staff. One of my biggest pet peeve‘s with a hotel is the noise in the hallway especially if it comes from staff. This hotel did not disappoint, The housekeeping staff was noisy and actually knocked on and tried to open my door with a do not disturb sign out. Otherwise, it would be five stars.
