I was disappointed, I had found a cat with a fish hook in his mouth and ask them to help me, i was willing to pay for this stray. They said they wouldnt help because the cat didnt belong to me and referred me to a different location where I was also denied help. My friend took the cat to Mexico and was back within 3 hours and released back to his home at the bay.
This location has absolutely amazing caring staff who are friendly and helpful. During my Microchip visit, my fur baby made himself known in multiple locations. The staff were not rude about it and I wax apologetic willing to clean up after my pooch. However, they had a system and said its normal not making a scene of it.
First I would like to say, I am a responsible dog owner, i was at work when i found a dog in the middle of a busy street in the eastlake area, I bought him to the side of the road and proceeded to call for animal control to no avail. After countless useless calls I was directed to go to a 24 hour vet, then directed to the chula vista animal shelter. I was the first one there and the process was easy for leaving a stray. The issue I had was with an older lady working there (18 years experience mind you) she hands me my ID and starts lecturing me on adoption and adopting the dog I found, as a responsible pet owner, I declined stating that I already live with 3 dogs and a fourth would be too many especially him being on the bigger side, she then guilts me on not taking in a sick dog because of course nobody wants a sick dog after telling me about the last responses program. After going back and forth for about 10 mins she then tries again to guilt me by asking if he was my dog, (mind you, I am in my uniform, bring him in with a rope and having called in advance stating I was coming in with a dog I found on the street) I responded no and she said ok and walked off, I walked away in tears knowing I did what was best for the dog and for her to basically say I was throwing the dog away because its sick, you can see why I would feel offended, any good dog owner would. I hope the dog finds his owner because I wouldnt want to be locked up in a place like chula vista animal control. Hes such a sweetheart.Edit: I received a call from liz notifying that he is now on custody of his original owners and he is being taken care of properly, thank you to everyone at the shelter except for the lady with the so called 18 years of experience.
Just made my appt for Winnies round of shots and renew her license. The service the first time for these shots as well as having her microchip inserted was excellent- every step was personal, thorough and professional. I have no hesitation in recommending and commending them for their selfless attitude and professional services.
We are looking for a dog to keep me company. Didnt really find what we are looking for. Want a small to medium sized dog. But, most of the dogs when we were there were larger pit bull mixes, or they were already spoken for. On the website it showed dogs as still available, however they were already gone. Which is great for the animals! We are still looking.
The Chula Vista Animal Care Facility is a great place from which to adopt a pet. The staff go through every effort to make sure they fit the right pet with the right potential adopter. The animals are spayed/neutered, dewormed, given a health check, treated for any medical issue, given needed vaccinations, microchipped, and given a behavioral check (and licensed for those living in Chula Vista, Bonita and Lemon Grove). Animals are well taken care of while at the shelter. Staff will educate owners regarding things to know about bringing a new pet into the home especially if there are other pets and children. They are thorough. Adoption fees are among the least expensive in the County. The focus is on finding animals homes. I have had 2 successful adoptions. Check out this shelter and give a homeless animal a loving home. After all, wouldnt you want to be treated the same way if you were homeless? Thank you.
They dont care about owners being reunited with their pets instead its about the loneliest most harsh and filthy be aware of your pets. Should they be accidentally picked up and taken here you will be heartbroken by the environment the lack of support and love while being there. I couldnt afford to get my dog back so they are going to adopt her out to another for 75 dollars but Im charged 300 not worried if she misses our house and its sad when everything they get is funded and donated to begin with, and the pets emotional well isnt a concern. I wish I never need to go there again.
Came in on Tuesday and was told it would take 3 days MAX for my application to be approved. We put a hold a cute terrier mix and it’s been more than 3 days and the terrible staff at this shelter can’t even answer the phone or call you back. Chula Vista shelter isn’t interested in people rescuing there Dogs from the horrible cages they put them in outside. Tried to help locally but I guess we will go to SD Humane at least they answer the phone and have a kind gentle staff who are there to help.
I called this place to see if they can accept a Kitten that I found on the street and they told me that they do, however when I get there they told me they dont accept kittens unless they are hurt that I should just release the kitten on the wild because they eventually find their home. My point here is what if the kitten got abandoned? I do understand adult cats but we are talking about a kitten. So if you find a kitten dont even bother to take it to the shelter.
Went to see a specific kitten I had seen online. She was already adopted. I spoke with Ashley Milo and told her exactly what we were looking for. She called me a couple weeks later to tell me about a kitten they had just gotten in and thought would be a perfect addition to our household. She went way above and beyond for us and we couldnt be more pleased. Zoey fit in with our other fur-babies immediately. Thank you Ashley Milo for everything you do.
I brought in a stray kitten . I had no idea all the services were offered. She is chipped vaccinated de wormed and fixed. In a few days time she looked healthy. I adopted her love her and blessed I am able to give Sugar plum a new home. I was so impressed with the customer service and the services the shelter provides.
They at least let you walk thru and see if your animal is there .the front desk is always extremely helpful and kind. Unlike the bonita facility . They wont even let you see if your animal is there that really concerned me .why wont they let us walk thru. But thats bonita. Thumbs up for Chula vista .very clean facility and they care about the animals .. you can just tell. Good job guys and thank you
Not sure why this place is in the 4 star range, the employees here have the most horrific attitudes, on top of not doing a complete assessment on a dog before adopting out. It seems like to me they make up policies as they go. There’s no structure. They need help and a attitude adjustment.
The staff that works here seems like they dont have time of day for people who love their pets but have to quarantine their pets due to Karens for neighbors. While pet was in quarantine I was not allowed any contact and when I brought personal items for the dog when we went to get him out they told me they didnt have them ....
I adopted a beautiful female cat. BUT, I was told she was spayed at this shelter. Well, whoever did the spaying left some ovarian tissue inside this cat. Any ovarian tissue left inside after spaying results in the cat going through heat. Even though she cant get pregnant, she would howl every 1 to 2 months for about 10 days. I mean HOWL, all night. I had no idea spaying could be done wrong. I paid $$$ to get this poor cat spayed again. Maybe the vet at this shelter was in a hurry and didnt care about doing the job right. NEVER AGAIN will I adopt a female cat. NEVER AGAIN will I adopt from Chula Vista animal shelter.
Poorly run facility, staff seem disinterested and not customer friendly. On the positive side facility was clean, but minimal animals for adoption available so not surprising. Not likely to return as customer service was horrible, hopefully they were all volunteers and not paid staff. Hopefully animals are treated better than customers.
Sadly we had to say goodbye to our sweet girl. The staff was kind, patient and understanding. We were taken to a private room where they allowed us the time we needed to say our thank yous and goodbyes. Thank you to the staff for the gentle touch we needed during a difficult time.
I love this shelter, I adopted my pet here 5 years ago and there so nice. When you ask about adoption you can see all the pets available and then if you see one that you like they would put you in this area so the pet can bond with you, and to see if she/he likes you. Its so nice. I would like to adopt another dog here.
Staff was very attentive, I went to drop off a dog I found on the street. The girl there looked like she really cared about the animals and she was super nice by letting me know the dog’s real name since it had a chip, she even showed me a picture of the dog at an earlier age. She gave me piece of mind that the dog would be ok. Also the kennels were very clean and plenty of toys for cats and dogs. Still sad that there are so many pets waiting to be adopted. But overall this looks like a nice facility.
Nice set up. Cats have home feel like environment inside with plenty of toys, while dogs are outside. Nice encounter space for family wanting to have a one on one with their future pet. Greatly appreciate the detailed description of each pet (especially dogs). Noticed that the line inside was long. Could be because of the summer adoption program running through July.
Awesome staff, beautiful facility. I found four abandoned kittens and tried to keep them. I already have four cats and it was too much, so I took them to CVACF. They were caring and actually took the kittens in under protective custody because I knew that the owner had deliberately left them behind in my apartment complex. They take in lost pets, too. If your animal is missing, check there. You can walk around the kennels and see if your pet is there. They also do pet adoptions and have spay and neuter clinics. Highly recommend this place !!!
I had to take a sick cat to be euthanized. Before they did the procedure, they had a veterinarian give him a check-up to confirm my fears of how sick Cat was. It was extremely hard to do, but I could not let him suffer. The entire staff is very compassionate. They obviously love animals
Rude staff when I try to get information. Saw a corgi that i wanted to check out. I had asked if me and my wife could interact with a corgi. They started writing up the paper work for adoption. I told them i just wanted to play with the dog. She stated she wasnt going to let strangers pet someone else dog. She made us feel unwelcome, so we left. Other incident when I was trying to look for my lost cat. Ive only been there twice. But i appreciate all the work this facility does for the community.
This is where we got our puppy, this place is absolutely amazing! They are very organized and make sure that the animal you take home is going to be the right one for you. The staff is helpful and friendly. When we mentioned we have a cat they took the dog into a room with cats to see how she reacted. I cant thank them enough for all the help and I will definitely be back to give more animals a furrever home!
Best shelter ever! We adopted our dog there and she was a love. Staff bent over backwards to make our experience the best possible. Thank you. I want to address the negative reviews about the dog kennels. They are cement so they are cool in the hot weather. There are heaters above for cold weather. The water and food bowls are next to their cots in the back of the kennel for privacy while they eat and drink. They can eliminate in the front of the kennel away from sleeping and eating quarters. The waste is hosed into a catch-all in the side of the kennel. No dogs are hosed down. People, do your research and ask questions before posting something that is a supposition and not factual.
Kind of irritated due to fact that every time I go there the dogs have been adopted or theyve been placed on a hold for some reason and they dont tell you why and they dont post their adopted but when they are adopted Ive noticed that some of the dogs have been staying there for days
*long rant warning*If I could give a -5 stars, I would. Tiana was rude to me, condescending, hurtful, and it put me in tears by the time I left.I adopted my cat who needed to be neutered before going home. I pick him up in the time and date they asked me to, and when I bring our new animal home and he is obviously recovering from the surgery. Two or three days passed and I realize that the cat I had just adopted from this facility is sick. I took my cat back to the Chula Vista Animal Care Facility, and I may have not known how to care for a cat (it’s my first cat), but when I needed help, Tiana just told me that she thinks I was “trying to throw away this cat for a new one because he is sick,” and that she “regretted [her] decision to allow [me] to adopt,” and also that she “should of known better than to allow an adoption to [me]”.Yes! She said that among many other mean spirited things to me. Tiana thought I was a horrible pet owner because of my ignorance raising a new pet. Tiana was horrible to me and I did not deserve that treatment from her.I didn’t even respond back except to say, ”are you done now? Have a good day,” I just left and cried outside as she locked the doors to end her day. I was only looking for help!I would NEVER RECOMMEND this establishment because if the workers don’t care about people, they shouldn’t adopt them to us! How dare her treat me like I was just some animal abuser while she is a people abuser.I should of reported it, but my sweet nature stopped me from ruining her job, even though she ruined my feelings. If I sit and think about it, I’ll still cry about it because she was so, so wrong to me. I left there feeling incompetent, stupid, foolish, and small because of her comments to me.This happened in early November, and I remember it because she was also bragging about how she thinks Halloween is a religious holiday for her. I don’t judge what she does, but I still think of those horrible things she said to me, and I can’t help but to think her religion is not a loving religion. I go to a city institution and she brags about her religious preference to me, then continues to belittle me and make me feel stupid. Not professional! And she discriminates to say the least. Maybe she didn’t like me because Halloween isn’t a religion for me?Another worker saw me crying and talked to me, which was sweet, but she didn’t even follow up with me. I asked her how to file a grievance and gave her my information and she said she would talk to her boss about the incident, but she never called me back like she promised. Good intentions, but empty promises. Makes me think she didn’t care, either. This was all because I came in to see about a policy they had in regards to adopting a sick animal. I didn’t know what to do because this cat is my first pet! He was sick only a day after I brought him home! I reread the contract that they asked me to sign and I was only trying to adhere to it. Even if I misunderstood the contract, Tiana could have been a lot nicer than she was. She did not have to act like that to me.If you want to be treated humanely, and with respect, I recommend the shelter in Bonita or the Humane society in San Diego. The Chula Vista Animal Care Facility shelter is a poor excuse of humane treatment because people should be just as equally important as the animals are.0/10 would NOT recommend. If I were to thank her for ANYTHING, it’s that she forced me to take the sick cat home because my Jack Jack is the coolest cat ever. He is healthy and happy now, no thanks to Chula Vista Animal Care Facility.
Wasnt too hard to get my Dog from here. He came with all of his shots minus rabies and Ive had him for two years with no problem. They can be a little rude when youre trying to purchase a pet as though they dont trust you, but Im sure some people who try to adopt are scandalous. A year after owning your pet theyll send you mail to renew your dog license and try and charge you extra fees if you dont pay for it on time like the DMV.
My girlfriend and I had such a horrible experience. One of the staff members was rude. We took a dog we found in the street, he was in a bad situation and she acted like we were lying giving us rude faces. She had a face of disgust when we gave her the dog. For me honestly a shelter is where a dog should feel safe and where it should be loved not like this staff member who didnt believe us and was discussed by him.
Great facility, very nice kennels. It was $75 to adopt our dog, and she came vaccinated, spayed, and microchipped. The staff is very helpful and friendly. Ashley helped us with interactions with our dog and the few we were meeting, and was very knowledgeable about the dogs.
We have adopted our female Pit at the Chula Vista animal shelter and it was the best adoption experience we ever had.The facility is modern and clean and the employees are friendly and caring. This facility truly cares about the animals and their welfare as well as the safety of the adopting family members!
The staff was kind and helpful, they allowed us to meet the dog, and they let us have the dog we wanted after we interacted with it. I am so excited to go back and pick up my German Shepherd! Would of had him that day if he would of been neutered but as friendly as they were I am actually okay waiting. Thank you Chula Vista!
I have adopted from this facility numerous times. And all of my animals have lived long healthy lives. In fact none of them have ever had medical complications. However, if they have a condition that needs attention they are very honest about it and provide proper care instructions. XoIve adopted cats and dogs from this facility. I will adopt from here in the future.~Kendra 💘💘🐱🐶🐱🐶🐱
I had this dog that was perfectly healthy and normal and she was very playful. Let me tell you this though. THEY KILLED HER. I was crying for months and I still am. Their business sucks they never answer any of my phone calls. If you found a dog, cat, ETC. Dont take them to this living hell. Please dont make their owners go through this pain.
Beautiful animals but the lady at the front desk was rude and it seems like they search for a reason to turn you away before you can even meet any of the animals. For people coming to adopt a pit bull, you would think they would want to work with us to get an animal out of the shelter. Go to bonita, they are much kinder and seem to actually care about saving lives.
A place I am trusting with everything that has to do with pets. Great location with a lot of choices if you like to adopt a dog or cat. Very clean facility, all pets are very well taking care off. The staff is knowledgeable, friendly, fantastic with the pets and helpful to the public.
Like any pet animal center, this location is run the best they can, I see and I feel they are well treated with the most resources they have in hand. They accommodate all varieties of animals like cats, rabbits, dogs some other species, you can adopted any of them with a vary accessible fee!!
Went there recently to see the animals, it was on a rainy day. I was thinking that probably the dogs had a blanket and were covered well enough so they dont get wet, I thought wrong. Dogs were shivering and soaked from the rain, they didnt have the dogs cell clean, there was dog poop all over, I just think its a real bad facility and need to get new staff members that actually care for the animals and treat them right. This is one of the worse facilities Ive been too. I dont think its fair that they have the cats inside only and the dogs outside in the cold rain without a blanket and being wet. All dogs looked real sad and depressed, I wish I could make my own facility to actual care for the dogs and give them the love they need.
Unfortunately my Little doggie of 11 years, passed away this afternoon. I came here, and they took care of everything for a low fee. It wasnt the price. It was the fact that they took to my sorrow, and helped me to take care of paperwork, in a professional manner, Without adding more sadness to my loss
Thank you to the staff and volunteers who took in our two terrified feral kittens this Saturday Your care and expertise was top notch and left us feeling that they will find a good home. The kitties must have lost their mother near heratige and telegraph slopes and they will probably be released there after they are nuterred... we hope someone will take them in.googood morning for the day was fc
Found a stray cat and brought it here. The lady who helped us was a bit rude. Then when I asked the other lady, whom we gave the cat over to, whether or not we could get the cat back if it came down to euthanasia, she said no cause we werent the owners. That pissed me off. I will never bring any pets here. You should be given the chance to keep it from being put down whether or not youre the owner.
I volunteered here for a month and everyone is so rude. They do an okay job with training the volunteers but youre mostly on your own the whole time, they dont really answer any of your questions directly which never say right with me. I never understood why so many cold people run and animal shelter.
Worst place ever. They claim to be non profit and always fundraising and receiving tax paying funds from the city and county to operate. However, they charge an enormous amount to return your pet after it gets abducted. They charge more than a vet. They even have volunteers at the facility from a local vet tech school. So explain why it is necessary to charge $100s of dollars for supposed vet costs when you receive public funding and have volunteers? After researching the lead vet, it was obvious. Her private practice shut down. This is a kill shelter! No veterinarian should be working at a kill shelter! And killing innocent animals! Shame on you! I will continue to research this center and this vet. This is not over! I will take this to the city, my congressmen, senator, etc. You can not charge higher fees than other veterinarians while using taxpayer monies!
Horrible! Was notified 1 day before the last day to recover my lost dog and are charging me $345 to recover him. They claimed people are lined up to adopt him and want to adopt him out for $75 they are crooks!! How cpuldnthey do such a thing especiallyba facility claiming to care to let the animals go to loving homes. My dog had a loving home. They are thiefs!! I had to deal with mybdog being stolen now this? Horrible horrible people
DONT GO THERE THEY KILL FOUND ANIMALS THEY KILLED 3 HEALTHY KITTENS !!!!I had rescued three 2 week old kittens from the street and nursed them back to health I wanted to get them good home so I took them to the shelter and was promised they would get medical care and good homes after leaving I called same day to check up on the kittens and found out they were put down killed supposedly because they were to small for their age and people dont want to adopt them like that stay away from this place all the care about is making money. If u find animals give them away yourself or keep them and if youre going to take them here kill them yourself
If your pet gets picked up and ends up here. Just cut ties and adopted a new pet. This place holds your pet for a high ransom. Charges you hundreds of dollars to get them out. But someone can adopt your pet for $10. What a broken system. They should remove the word Animal Care. Cause they dont mind putting animals to sleep here. This is what happened. My friends dog had been here before and tagged, paid over $200 to get him back. This happened again a year later. Got a letter saying they have the dog. Go there. They ask for over $200 again for release. Friend cant afford to pay that amount again. I go in and act like I would like to adopt this dog. They say its $75 to adopt. Then I say your sign says less if its old. They say oh yes, its only $10 to adopt him.ARE YOU KIDDING ME???So $10 for someone else to take your dog but $200+ for the owner. That is a RANSOM. They are taking your money knowing you will most likely pay a high fee cause your pet is your family. So this gets better. They ask if I own or rent. I say Own. They look up the name on the title of the house when you say own or they need to speak to your landlord if you rent. Lucky me, my name isnt on the title just my mother n law who lives with us. They wont accept my mortgage statement with my name on it showing I pay for the house. They try calling her, no answer. I cant adopt. I cant go back later cause of work.My friends dog gets put to sleep....
Today I picked up our dog. He escaped the yard and was picked up by animal control. I wont complain about the mandatory vet services forced on us even though the dog was fully licensed. That turned the normal fee, Penalty, from 45 to almost $200.I must complain about the treatment of the dog. They refused to send home any pain medication after fixing the dog. They sent him home wimpering in pain. Even though I demanded pain meds I was told by the employee that the pain would be gone tomorrow! Now looking for a vet at 5 oclock for pain meds.
This place is never open. Ive tried since Thursday I cant even get them to answer a call. Today Im here early at 1030 and theyre still not open. They helped with my dogs rabies shot but I cant seem to catch them at a reasonable time to get my records . 2 out of 5 try harder guys
Very big, clean, helpful, and perfume needed by the dog kennels. You are probably thinking, why did she rate very good instead of exellent. Well, this is why. Cats are inside happy with air conditioning and a whole room for three and more than 5 toys to play. But dogs, poor dogs. They are locked up in kennels with a perimeter of about 9 feet outside with no toys or company. Well, big dogs dont have company. dont these people ever feel guilty. All you can hear from these dogs are poor little whimpers. Ps: I put a picture of a ninja cat because hes winning, and a picture of a fainting dog or something because you know what
This is zero stars (they dont have an option to put zero so I just put one )because the people are beyond disgusting I went with my grandpa to get a dog and they were so rude they were being ignorant because he spoke Spanish and struggled with speaking English . I am apalled at what I witnessed today and I deeply recommend you find a place that respects people . They had an officer come speak to us to tell us we are not ever getting a dog there just because my grampa marked that the dog would sleep in the garage which they had as an option on there application form. My grandpa said he can keep him inside if thats a promblem and the lady began interagating him with the same question in different ways. English is my first language and I was translating perfectly fine but they kept talking over me and yelling at us as if we did something wrong. They even had him show papers to proof that he owned the house he wrote down on the form. Please dont go here to adopt your dog go somewhere where people have class are respectful and not ignorant .
I was looking for a companion kitty for my indoor cat. From the moment I walked in the building I was ignored and the staff was incredibly rude. The fat blond woman at the front desk was very krass with a huge authority complex. I was so turned off by the way I was treated by the staff that I just left. I would have rather rescued a kitty from the pound then find one from a person who breeds on Craigslist, but the unprofessional staff who work at the shelter have turned me off from going the rescue animal route.
This was the worst service ever I pre ordered our ice cream I was given a certain time they went past that time by almost a 20 to 30 minutes, Then harass my 15 year old son and his friend for trying to give them a tip they put in the wrong bill they tried to exchange from $5 to $1 because that was that what they were planning to give and the person forced them to give up their money claiming it was already there they asked for the cameras to be tracked and they werent plus they had me wait with my artist it 5 year old daughter crying in the car Ill never be back there again and I want the kids money back this is an outrage to bully little kid out of there cash You should be ashamed of yourselves.
Very kind staff and clean facilities..is hearthbreaking seing all this animals in adoption looking into your eyes begging for a forever home..dont buy please adopt!!Besides they have cheap vaccines and microchiping for pets..even get my pets microchiped free in an special event!!
Rude rude front staff. So we need to fill out all our paper work ..bug our Property Management ...just to see a cat. I Just want to meet? Not even take?...the lady asked where I lived I sayed a back house. She sayed so its not a apartment..? Okayy I would tell you if It was. Never going here again. ILL BE GOING ELSE WHERE. To adopt a kitty.
I rarely speak poorly of anything especially people people places and things but the Chula Vista Animal Hospital really needs to take a politeness course the front desk intake gals are just abrupt rude and if you dont speak Spanish just not willing to really help you you know kind of old boys club in there that veterinarian care is good though and but I like the rest of the experience to be pleasant and especially at todays prices with veterinarians so two stars too bad
They never answer the phone! The dispatch nor the actual shelter answer their phone during business hours. Someone was suppose to be at my house to pick up a stray I found. I called it in around 730am here we are at 330 pm and no one has come or called. They told me maybe around 1pm someone would be here, now they are not answering either number.
Closes shelter too 92154 and they send your pets to Bonita.. Dont start on adoption process. Who need permission to have a reptile? Yes I rent. Online says no dogs or cats nothing of other animals. Its in a tank. I have a tortoise already now I have to jump through hoops to get a companion are you kidding me? Keep it Ill go buy from pet store. You people work with animals but cant determine the sex of them...really? No thanks.
I have never been to this Shelter maybe I was once. My dog was stressed and no water looked dusty and dirty in an outside cage my car had been stolen with my dog in it 2008. I got him back in 3 days place was closed Sunday and Monday. My purpose is to give you hope and unite people who care about saving animals. Penny Adams had an Organization until she passed on in 2012. 25 she saved animals. Her property donated to the care and rescue if animals. Penny and her family and friends volunteers dud fund raisers and saved and rescued over one million animals mostly dogs, yet cats birds rabbits etc. too. From being put down sleep. She begged especially at Chula Vista for the animals lives. She irritated them yet she got those animals given to her put on her property and adopted them out. I have suggestions: For you to have people who will contact other organizations and brainstorm ideas to raise money to save pets along with the people fund raisers they do. Pennies for pets! Little Kids can save pennies for pets. Dollars for Animals! Sell lemonade and cookies for food dog collars leashes tags cat houses, chips, shots etc. Churches Schools Kiwanis Motorcycle Associations small businesses Target Malls Grocery Store Winco Alpha Beta Vins . they collect at Xmas for Salvation Army why not Rescue pets at Shelters We used to sell our roses, candy, beef jerky for little league equipment for our kids sell stuff for pets. Was told a cock and bull story the day before I was to have a hearing for a vicious dog hearing on the 17th of April that the dog was put down.Guess what the dog rose from the dead because it was in the owners front room today and it was going nuts by the knock on the door.Have placed numerous calls to C V animal control since Friday and have received zilch .Called the supervisor today and got no response.Have contacted Mike Turko at channel 51 and am contacting two other stations about this matter. Seems no matter what level of govt now days its all corrupt. Lying is now the national pastime

2022-02-25When I took my chihuahua here she was in pain and they took her back with her blanket. When the doctor came in to talk to me I find out my dog was left in the cage or kennel for four hours without her blanket. It was cold in there. Rainy cold night. She said my dog was alert. Well yes she was probably freezing and looking for me no doubt. It puzzles me that a doctor would tell you blood work is needed and not know prices. Instead just tell you that it’s somewhere in the price of 300 to 800 for blood work. Why so dang much? Our blood work isn’t that costly. These veterinary doctors only are as good treating your pet as your pocket is deep. There’s no compassion in their hearts. Just dollar signs in their eyes. It’s sickening. A visit and a prescription was $ 180.00 Robbery. It’s all a robbery

2022-05-01We had our two cats spayed and neutered. The process was simple enough online, we paid in person (also to verify i.d.). You have to arrive early and the process, depending where you are in line, is probably no more than an hour.Facility is clean, plenty of parking. The staff is very loving and gentle with the critters. This touched me. They love their patients. Follow up care is A+.

2022-04-29Had my pup spayed in 4/28/22. I had a very positive experience with them. They answered all my questions I was concerned about which put me at ease before her being spayed. The intake staff were very polite & knowledgeable. At first I was very worried because of the negative reviews I seen. They also gave my pup meds to take at home which I really appreciated. Thank you Chula Vista Care facility for taking care of my baby. Grateful I took her there 🐶💕

2022-04-13I took my dog in to be neutered. He came back traumatized. I should have trusted my gut. I didn’t have a good feeling about this place and against my better judgment I went ahead and took him in day of surgery. He is now a completely different dog. He is very aggressive even trying to bite me. I was told by my vet they probably treated him very bad at the shelter and man handled him. He is very traumatized!!! Pay the extra money and take them somewhere better

2022-05-14I went to this shelter to get a dog for my family. My kids fell in love with this dog that absolutely adored them. I went to book the meet and greet and the lady wouldnt even set it up because she said the dog isnt good with kids. But he sure was loving my kids. The dog has been there 6 months and its because of stuff like this. He would have had a loving home. If i were you i would go somewhere else to save yourself the disappointment.

2022-04-30The service is exceptional, today my family and I stopped by to renew our dog’s license and I believe it was Karina a name with a K. She was kind, attentive and extremely polite to us and everyone she came in contact with. Thank you and I hope I got your name right, mid length hair brown and blonde at top.

2018-03-13Very sad place to visit. Went multiple times when looking for a dog. One visit it was extremely hot that day and none of the dogs had water, many had peed and poop in their cells, I watched a volunteer cool down their areas by spraying a hose with the dogs in there terrified, soaking everything and then going to the next cell. The dogs didnt have toys, and many just looked so broken and scared. Visiting this place left me in tears many times. I did decide I wanted to adopt a dog from here to get them out of this place and I did meet one staff member who was truly very nice and seemed to care a lot for these dogs. With all this said I adopted a high energy husky mix (older) puppy. For $25 I got him and he was neutered, microchipped, and given a 1 year registration. He is one of the best dogs, he can be naughty and stubborn (hello husky!), but he is so easy going. He has made the best hiking companion and snuggle bug.

2022-02-14Great service. Loving, caring staff. I have had to take my 18 year old cocker and just recently a cat to be euthanized. They were great. Thank you.
