Decent place. I’ve been eating here for over 25 years now, and I’m 27. In the more recent last few years their quality has kind gone down a little bit. Also, because of the pandemic there is no dining in. With that said, when you normally dine in they bring your fresh sourdough rolls to start with, which you are not charged for and you can have as many baskets as you want. When having to order out now, they charge me every single time for the rolls. They literally make me pay for 4 of their sourdough dinner rolls. My parents and grandparents have been coming to both Chi Chi’s locations, and Chi Chi’s in general since they have opened. I’ve had so many birthday dinners, family outing dinners, other celebrations etc here as well as just coming to eat because it’s so good. I was so very fond of this place while growing up and my brother and sisters didn’t even have to beg my parents or grandparents to take us. We would just go that often and never got tired of it. But the last couple years just have been as good for some reason. Besides that, it’s still decent enough to go.
Customer service was great lastnight, Thanks everyone. You earned the nice tip I left! I ordered a chicken dinner and a medium pizza, I received everything ordered. 4 stars for the sausage on the pizza...I guess Im not a big fan of crumbled ground sausage! Next time Ill order pepperoni. Pizza was still delicious folks and much appreciated, and glad the business is still open. Im in support 💯 in dinning out. Keep up the awesome job folks 👏
Had Great food and service a couple weeks agoCame back a couple weeks later, found a different restaurant. Same name, something changed. Orderd a appetizer the food showed up first. No need for a appetizer. Waited for the rest of the table to be served before I started to eat. Unacceptable time to go to the Valencia restaurant
I went on a whim because I was driving right by Chi Chis Pizza and since I was a kid our family pizza was Chi Chis Pizza okay. I ordered a small it was $18.24 so I said well I guess Ive lost touch because I didnt know it was that much and some lady bought it for me she was the nicest lady I think theres so many times and I told her God bless her cuz she sure blessed me. So that was a happy good experience I had there.
Always consistently good to great food. Always friendly. Weve lived in Canyon Country since 1988 and been coming here since it opened. Today they are open despite CORONA. Thank you. Had to get a small mushroom pizza - good for me for 2 meals and a meatball sandwich good for me for 2 meals.
Great pizza and appetizers. old school setup like a diner where they sit you down (i remember when pizza hut was like this in the late 70s/early 80s and so no surprise this place has been around 60 years.very good pizza (had the super deluxe or whatever they call their combo), half spicy and half regular. their cheese bread with marinara was great as well.definitely will be back when i am in the area.
Would definitely go back once this Covid pandemic BS is over. It seems like a really poppy place if you want to have a good time. A lot of different food places, only downside is that a lot of their menus are limited due to Covid. You get to enjoy music and walk around with your drink, similar to a little Vegas.
I have been going to Chi Chis since my family came out from New York in 1978. By far the best pizza in LA. I have grown up with Chi Chis and now my daughter has fallen in love with it as well. Everything they serve is excellent. Pizza, pasta, salad, there chicken and humongous French fries are delicious as well. Simply love this place.
This is one of my favorite pizza places. Every person that they have hired since I have been coming here for the past 6 years has always been very polite. They give free sour dough rolls as appetizers that are the best. My family and I ALWAYS get pepperoni pizza with pineapple because its amazing. They have so many more great foods on their menu that we havent tried because we are so happy with our usual. The place is also always very quite and clean, bathrooms included. Would definitely recommend to anyone!
Great service, boneless wings are the best i have ever had. They are large and juicy. The potato wedges are okay. The italian dishes, pasta and lasagna were delicious. The pizza was good except the bell pepper pieces were extremely large. The flourless chocolate cake was amazing and tasted like fudge. The gelato was good as well. They need to add sweet tea to the menu.
Brought my daughter for a dinner date to catch up on current events. We ended up talking bout how great the place feels and the food is great. We are super full and even more satisfied. The bill was very fair and we both had champagne while we enjoyed the meal. It is a great experience if you are In the area i highly recommend it. Trust.
Yum... if you are looking for some quality italian food heres your spot. If you think Olive Garden is Italian food you are sadly mistaken. Chichis has thee best home made pasta ... pizza... salad... everything. This location is the best in my opinion. Great management and service.
What can be said about that Chi Chis that is Not already known? They are good... Dang Good!! Service is always Up To Par, but tonight, was different. Carl was out waiter and if youre looking for Unsurpassed, Amazing Service, youll be Very Hard Pressed to find service Better than Carls. Hes never waited on us, despite being their for 4 years! I believe he was recently minted as a Waiter fairly recently. He was On Point the Entire Night! Ask for Carl, next time youre there and judge for yourself. You will NOT be sorry. Incidentally their lasagna, chicken parmigiana, chicken tenders, sandwiches And pretty much Everything on their menu is OUT OF THIS WORLD! Coming from a BIG Italian family, that is saying something...
While I dont think all of their food is spectacular, I do love their pizza assuming you pick the correct toppings, unlike at Toppers (my other favorite pizza place), where just about any pizza topping combinations taste good. In over a decade of picking up pizza from here, theyve never gotten my order wrong. I also find that Chi Chis pizza reheats better than most pizzas including toppers, assuming you use a toaster oven. It comes out tasting almost like the day before. This is probably because their dough and toppings are fresher than what you get at most of the competition.
Chi Chis pizza has been one of our favorite restaurants for over 35 years. The Canyon Country Chi Chis. hasnt been there that long, but the Saugus restaurant has been here longer. There pizza is EXCELLENT, not like any other pizza. Excellent pasta dishes, garlic bread and minestrone soup. Roast beef sandwiches are also Very good and there pressure cooked potatoes and chicken are excellent. Always excellent food and good service.
Great food, great service. My Aspergers son cannot bring himself to eat tomato sauce and had some on his cheese raviolis. The waitress and staff were very kind and thoughtful to remake ravioli just for him without sauce. Kindness like that is rare nowadays, so it is well appreciated!
Used to eat here once a week until we moved. Now we make sure to stop and get either pizza or pasta to go if were ever in the neighborhood. Really wish there was one of these where we live now. Have never had pizza sauce that taste like theres anywhere else. Its the best!
One of the nicest restaurants in Canyon Country, this full service Italian restaurant has plenty of linen covered tables and booths. Can be a bit crowded during peak hours, especially on the weekend. The pizza is fantastic, old world flavor (wood fired?) with ample choices. My favorite is the lasagne al forno, cooked to perfection and heavy on the cheese! Decent kids menu for those 12 and under, though not particularly kid friendly. I think its the customers, though, not the staff, as we had a bad experience bringing a baby along. A customer, who was no doubt trying to impress his date, berated us because we brought a baby with us to dinner! How stupid of us, as he scolded us for not having left that kid with a babysitter. I dont think his date was really impressed by his snobbish attitude.Other than that guy and a few other obnoxious customers, this place is pretty good.
Weve been going to Chi Chis since we were kids! My husband & I Love Chi Chis !!! :-)They have the Best Raviolis (home made)& We get a French roll hot out of the oven with real butter to go with them! Yum !!!Their Pizza & Italian food is great also ! Oh & Did I mention their Clam Chowder!!! Weve had a lot of it at the beach etc...but believe it or not theirs is about the Best of them all !!! Their service is great, but we Love Edwin, hes the Best ! He can tell us our order weve been customers so long ! Lol ! :-) Hope you Enjoy it as much as we do!!! :-) XO
Best, most consistent Italian in all of SCV. Has been a staple in my life since I was a child. Best meatless tomato sauce anywhere. Pizza is also a contender for best in SCV, only competition is Toppers. Service is always good as well. Ask for your pizza well done or crispy for a change of pace that will not disappoint, they can also make any pizza spicy!
UPDATE 4/7/2018 -- Dropping to one star even though I had been going here basically weekly for years now --Very DisappointedI get that there are rules to prevent abuse, however, I also understand that there exists reasonability. Yesterday, the family and I went to the Chi Chis Canyon Country (as we (now used) to do on a regular basis) and ordered the same meal that we always order. Medium Pizza, three cups of chowder, a salad, four drinks, appetizer, meatball and the all you can eat pasta. Food cost for this with tax works out to $71 (I know this because we always get the same)... the difference though was that the waitress informed me this time that my toddler is not permitted to have any of my pasta since all you can eat is not meant for sharing. I get that it is not meant to be shared among children and or other adults, however the ten or even lets say fifteen pieces of rigatoni that my toddler will eat does not justify ordering another $12 pasta dish nor would I consider it an abuse of the system. Apparently though, the management (Ivan, he repeated his name to me MANY times and told me to call corporate if I have an issue so I guess that he wants his name on this review that I told him I was going to post and he still kept telling me his name) believes that it is better to see a $85 to $90 tab (with tip) walk out the door over 15 pieces of rigatoni. We live in a community of families with young children, this is not a very wise business move in my opinion being the number of choices of family restaurants located here. The competition thanks you Ivan!
Placed our order, my wife ordered chicken cannoli got the pork beef, she cant have it. Try again chicken, wrong again strike 2 not going for 3. She ordered something else. The Manager came out after the second return and started to argue. WTF?? Next time we will go to the other one on Soledad. We have been coming here for 10 years. What changed??
I thought it would have been nice to have my girlfriends birthday dinner here with my family. Aside from my brothers pizza coming out after everyone else finishing their food, I also did not receive my soup. My brother went to ask the waitress if they could sing happy birthday. Before she came out there were a couple employees who came to check us out, when they noticed we were lesbians they must have decided that they didnt want to take part. Instead our waitress came out with some ice cream and sang by herself while the other employees stood around. Our waitress apologized that everyone was busy but it was very clear that they were not as I could see that they had more than enough time to carry on conversations that I observed from the moment we got there. Our waitress was very nice but this is by far the worst experience I have ever encountered here. Do yourself a favor and go to the one on Soledad.
Always my treat when I came back in town-my go to when I lived there. Antipasto salad and sausage and pepperoni pizza. Haven’t been there in awhile- went in today- was VERY DISAPPOINTED! Changed the Italian dressing- and worst of all- the sausage!50 years with the same recipe- and now this.
It was my first time ordering I didnt know about prices or what they serve..I know the basic stuff but I was looking to buy extra food besides pizza and wings...of course I ask...service sucks they didnt know what to offer me..I didnt know what to get either we were both stuck...he didnt offer me anything to buy..so I went to lil ceaser

2022-06-11Pretty good pizza, but prices went up as with every place. They send you a calendar with coupons. Use it, its worth it. We get either the Margherita pizza or we do roasted bell pepper pizza, but I tell you, its not your typical bell pepper pizza. This is yummy!

2019-02-19Great pizza, the fried green bell peppers make the pizza. Excellent dough. Service with a smile, cant miss the place its at tge end of the Golden Valley northbound exit off the 14 freeway. Plenty of parking. You can even watch the prepare your pizza via a large window where the pizza makers are.

2018-12-22Always a favorite for our family. The staff is great and the assistant Manager goes above and beyond to help accommodate guests with a larger party. My children were most excited to watch the pizzas being made while we waited to be seated. Also they loved the fact that they use pineapple rings on the pizza. We ordered the wings appetizer and it came with 4 varieties. Love this place!

2019-10-09You are not a Santa Claritian until you have eaten at Chi Chis Pizza is what I always say. This has been a staple of good eats for the Santa Clarita Valley for over 50 years. As a family we always consider their pizza a special treat along with their Antipasti Salad with extra Italian dressing and Blue Cheese dressing. Their bread rolls will set you back if you are on ketosis but if you how good they are when they are piping hot with butter then you know the risk! Im not a pizza guy by any means, but I will enjoy 3 or 4 slices if its in front of me!!

2022-02-14It was great to have a sit down Pizza restaurant. What made it even better was the extensive menu and the taste and quality of the food. Service and ambiance were perfect. Well be back for sure.
