I think one must be fair when reviewing these places - it depends on the cleaning attendant that u get and how dirty your car really is. From what I can see they are definitely hustling to get the car cleaned. What is a huge mistake and understanding is that this is a hybrid of tunnel spraying and washing plus someone cleaning it. It is NOT touchless or brushless In the tunnel which we are disappointed with but all in all I found that the car was clean and no complaints from me. There is a really cute gift shops with lots of greeting cards, like a holiday hallmark ... they offer buy 9 get 10th free or buy a package of 4 discounts - So I will come back
I dont ever write reviews but this is an exception based on my experience. I Just purchased my Lexus in January and brought it to Checkered Flag for its first detail and wax. This was the last week of January. The next day I noticed that the Alloy rims were all stained on the smooth surface. Not only that but wax residue was all over the car and not wiped properly. I tried cleaning the rims off with a microfiber cloth but that didnt help. I called the next day and spoke with Efrain and he said it couldnt have been their fault because they claim that their products wouldnt affect the rims. The next week I went in and both Efrain and Oscar claim it wasnt their fault. No apology. Since then I have been trying to contact Chuck Morris the production manager by voice mail and email and no return contact has been made to me to rectify the situation. Its like he doesnt even work there since I cant get a simple response back. Probably the worst car wash place Ive been to.I have had the Lexus dealership and 2 other detailers inspect the rims and they let me know it is definitely poor care on checkered flags part. Its quite disappointing that a business wont even call me back. Chuck I expect a call this week and an appointment to inspect my rims.
Went to this place for many years because it was faster than most places and do a decent job of cleaning up my vehicle. Until this last time. I watched my vehicle with my son as he liked to watch and noticed my mirrors were tucked in. Paid for wash and when it came to pick up my vehicle, noticed that one mirror was missing the actual mirror. Asked the attendant and he didn’t know anything. Got to speak to the manager and he was insistent that it was my fault, right off the bat in a forceful way. He went back to check and came back with my broken mirror. He used every excuse to either make it my fault or that it was broken to begin with. Also said they never touch the mirrors. Busted those liars. Last time I ever go there. Caveat emptor!
What did I just pay $30 for? Spots left that could easily be removed with a finger. No compressed air to dry off the wet spots. Now I have to do what they missed. Also not 100% hand as you still have to go through the machine, so not touchless either. Never coming back.
Don’t leave without inspecting your car! I was a first time customer and I am disappointed in them and myself for not reviewing my car before jumping in and taking off. I paid for the luxury wash, more like drive through car wash quality. My front bumper still had bug guts all over it, and the bottom trim was barely touched. Paid $35 and can’t tell the difference between luxury an basic hand wash, can you say rip off!
No matter what car wash service I pay for I always regret going here. Car gets about 90% clean... Clean enough but nowhere near adequate.
They did an awesome job and got my car super clean. The wax job made it so shiny, its like driving a new car and you definitely get what you pay for 👍

I come here regularly with the 4$ discounts from the OC register for the Super Wash package and Ive been pleased every time. The detail service here is superb: brought my minivan for a carpet shampoo for 60$ including the Super Wash. I didnt expect much from the express service, but Chrisanto and 2 other guys washed 12 mats including the trunk cover, washed, scrubbed and vacuumed the whole interior and steamed out all stains on the carpet and the captain chairs. Almost 2 hours of work. Recommend setting an appointment for any detail service to make sure there arent 8 cars ahead of you.
If you’re in a rush this car wash is okay to go to. I guess, but if you want a good job with no marks on your car this is not the place to go to…..
Generally there are two kinds of carwashes, Detailed and express. This is not a express service provider, but can you tell me why there is only one man at detail center..? I was told the interior detail need 2 hours+ work...Good luck you guys.
Lets just say... paying $43.99 for what u thought would have been a better cleaning option.... ended up not being what Id thought Id get. They were too quick. Didnt clean the tires well and smeared the tires only. Didnt wipe as they should. They missed a rim 🤦♀️ to top it off, the inside was not done well either. Better off paying $9 at shell 🙄 just saying. Never again.
I just paid $51 to get my car washed, they did not vacuum the back seat at all, our Van was still dirty we had to stop by at the gas station to vacuum and clean our car all over again. I will never go back again.
Waste of money.. Ill just say, havent found a single car wash that will detail my car as good as i will.. ended up borrowing their towels to actually detail it for another 15 minutes.. sure they were quick about it so if thats what you’re looking for come here, but if you want it DETAILED you’re gonna be left disappointed.. and probably detailing it yourself… and i mean trims, door panels, sun roof, some obvious spots and corners that were just ignored.. takes 10 more minutes but i guess they’re all about speed here, not being thorough.. paid for the highest tier wash to be treated like i got the lowest tier service.. waste of money, clean your own car.. cheap washes with free vacuums are a better deal.. spent 45$ to clean my own car anyway lol
Waited over 15 minutes in line to pay with about 10 people behind me in line; customer behind me went to office to ask for another cashier (location has two cashier stations) because of the long line, and the person who seemed to be the manager refused; waited another 15 minutes for car to finish, and the quality of the wash was very poor; cup holders were not even touched; trunk area was not vacuumed; and streaks all over the front and rear windshields; this will be my last visit to Checkered Car Wash after tolerating the poor quality for about five years.
The service is pretty standard affair. Nothing to write home about, but then again, it would be odd to expect glowing service asking what level wash was wanted for the hundredth time that day.The wash itself is decent. Decently clean but far from perfect. Exterior oftentimes has remnants of stubborn bird droppings on various body panels but the interior is where my biggest gripe would be.I usually bring my tiny Miata. It’s a small two seater with a back window the size of two average sized palms. Usually remains unwashed. The windshield edges are usually ignored as well, leaving me with a white border around the glass. But again, it’s the same level of cleanliness you get and expect from 90% of other car washes. Not the worst.
I come here to get a car wash when I want a good quality wash and they always do it right! There usually is a wait which is understandable but it can take some time and the prices are on the higher end but it is worth it if you want it done right!
Worst car wash Ive ever had. Was it because I got the $24.99?? The back seat was hardly vacuumed. Between seats never got vacuumed.I even tipped the vacuum guy.
The overall car wash service quality is very poor. The price they charge is very high and half of my car was not cleaned correctly. Post car wash they cleaned the outside in few mins, which means the car was not cleaned properly. I had to clean my car again after getting a wash here, which technically means the car wash is pathetic.I visited this place once and never will i visit again.I wouldn’t recommend anyone as well. There are far better value for money options than this.
Spring 2019: Gave the luxury wash another try. No problems. Earned another star.Fall 2018: Paid for the luxury wash this Saturday and was amazed at how fast they were done given the line. I seemed to have been promoted to vip. That was until I reviewed the work. Somehow I got a huge scratch on my driver side mud guard and side runner . Im guessing blame whoever drove it into the wash. As it must have hit the guide rails. If that werent enough, the car was not clean at all. Look at all the dirt on the vinyl trim and area under door. So in short, paid $30 for a spray wash, smear of vinyl dressing, and hand dry. Hundreds in damage.
That’s definitely worse car washing experience ever.. Never will go again! I went two times , at the first one they scratched my glove box(long deep scratch) and when I go to there for second time(“hoped they will do better job”) I just said it happened last time please be careful. And they didnt even say sorry or tried to fix anythjng and gave to me half dirty car. NOT RECOMMENDED!
Very poor job cleaning exterior and interior of car. We paid extra to clean the floor mats. They did not clean the mats they just rinsed them with water. They did not clean the cup holders or anything. When I brought it up to the manager, he rolled his eyes and came up with excuses, turned his back and did nothing.Poor customer service, poor job, poor attitude, poor value.
Spotty job on a mini detail. Interior mid console had dirt still evidently shown in the crevices . Missed my coffee stain spots. Never coming back
I have been coming here for the last 2 years once a week. They guys and the ladies doing a great job . My only concern will be for the last 3 months.The new cashier lady with highlights gray always in the slow mode especially on Friday. The other day I asked to get a $10 cash back to tip the guys and she said only $5 today because we are slow. Note: I used to get $15 cash back. Please speed up on Friday and keep your cash back limit at certain amount. Thank you

They do a great job and its quick and easy...however the water they use has an awful sewage smell that can linger in your car for a couple hours....not sure why their waters smells so bad.
DONT USE THIS PLACE!!!! IF YOU DO TAKE PICS OF YOUR CAR FIRST! I used to go here once a month, until today.Story time. I have a 2015 Subaru Forester. I drive it a lot. Back and forth to Utah every few months. The center console That came with it didnt extent. Some did, but mine didnt. It took me months to convince the Subaru dealership that I wasnt crazy and that the extender one was a real part. The part didnt show up in their OEM lists or on any JDM parts lists. I finally was able to show them the part on a model they used for shuttling customers and get them to order and install one in my car. That was 3 ish months ago.Today, I go take the car in for a full detail. $140 detail job. I have had the car cleaned there a lot and they always miss something, but for the 25 bucks, whatever. $140 means I want it done right. Today I pulled up and did a preliminary car tidying. I moved the car seat and all the kids stuff to the back. In my cleaning up I did a check over of the car. No gash in the center console. I come back a few hours later. First thing I do is check through the car. A few minutes into the exam I see the gash on the console shown in the photo. My heart sinks. I seriously had to hunt this effin part ans dropped like $200+ for it just a few months ago. I call a guy over and show him, he gets the manager. The manager (Efrain) comes to look. He starts speaking to his employee in Spanish. hi, I speak Spanish, so I know they are saying that I am lying about it and it was there before. I switch to Spanish and tell them it was not there before I brought it in. Efrain basically tells me it was there before and that I am lying and its my word against theirs.Dude, its not only a screw up, its the one part I hunted for, the part I wanted for my trips. Efrain doesnt help me, he just has me fill out a form so that he can email me later to say they arent going to pay for it. This sucks, accidents happen. People mess up, but to call a customer a liar to his face when its obviously his employees screw up is wrong. Dont use this place. They dont care about you, or your car.

Paid 50 for a wash and they finish too quickly. Really have to tell them that they missed spots. I had to keep telling them to clean different spots because the roof especially was untouched. Little dirt spots were all over the car. I believe if they cleaned properly from the beginning of the tunnel with the hand wash, it wouldnt be an issue. Then at the end the guy wants to say bad words behind my back and doesnt realize that the Indian guy understands Spanish. Still ended up tipping him. Wont be coming here again
Yeah, you get your car washed here, but thats not the big surprise. Amazing gift shop! No, really! Wow! Whoever curates this gift shop should be praised...wonderful, eclectic selection of actually good stuff in themed collections! Spa, BBQ, Car Enthusiasts, Dog & Cat Lovers, Grads, Teachers, etc.! No floor mats and hanging pine trees here! What a hidden gem! What a fun place to pop in for a quick gift with the bonus if a clean, fresh car!
Car wash was good until I watched the guy vacuuming my car scratch up the back bumper with the Vacuum hose. 🤦♂️ nothing like fresh scratches all over a perfectly clean rear bumper. YMMV
Lying about the wash being 100% hand wash. Brushes clean the car. Completely a lie and the manager admitted that the 100% hand wash is not completely 100%. If theyre lying in literally the title of their business, dont spend your money at their business.

I like how there is a supervisor of sort (wears red shirt) who goes around and checks and wipes for a meticulous job. 1st time here but seems like I’ll return.Update 10/30/20: 5 stars last time. 2 stars today. I got the luxury wash $30.99 today. There were red spots of wax on the side and on the back of my car, including some dirt on the roof of the car. I had to guide them to wipe it off. And it came off rather easily too! What a sloppy, rushed drying job. Without management walking around like last time, your workers are not doing a proper job. I’d rather drive further away to get my car washed correctly. Especially for over $30 a wash. I just got home and now have to wipe my car down. Unbelievable.
Yeah, no. I went here because it’s across the street from where I reside, and thought “oh that’s convenient”. Plus with COVID, I want to limit my exposure outside so I rarely leave the house and when I do it’s only to drive within a few blocks. Upon first pulling in, my first impression was that their prices were high and that should’ve been a red flag (compared to a different car wash I normally go to). First off, it wasn’t busy. When my car pulled out of the wash, 3 men proceeded to clean it. I didn’t watch them in detail, because I figured why should I? Let me enjoy sitting outside without worrying. Well, I should’ve watched them more closely. I didn’t even realize until I got home that my tires did not receive any dressing (absolutely dirty still), many areas of my vehicle were not properly cleaned and I didn’t even receive something as simple as a car freshener (even though the attendant asked me what scent I wanted). 3 men worked on my car and you wouldn’t have been able to tell. I’m disappointed and sick to my stomach that I wasted $30.99 on a car wash that I could’ve gotten from Mobil gas station for $8, or better yet, I should’ve just went to my normal car wash place on Culver and Michelson. For $20 you get a basic wash but they do a thorough job and I’ve never had any issue there. I would never come back to this particular wash, even if it is across the street.
Great spot for a quick hand clean. If theyre busy make sure you check your car before you leave. Theyll spot clean anything they missed. Very friendly staff.

Atrocious behavior by manager and staff in regards to vacuuming and asking to open my trunk. Employee hit my trunk with inappropriately excessive force, after failing to remove even roughly 40% of the dog hair in my back seat, they gave up and claimed they were done. When I asked them to redo it, the manager and his couple other employees went at it for no more than 3 minutes before giving up and claiming a detailing was required but thats exponentially more than the plan I had purchased and couldnt understand why today was different. Ive come to this company on numerous occasions and always buy the same thing. Theyve never had an issue vacuuming my car before but I guess todays manager just threw that down the drain.TLDR- Wont come back here asked for a refund/ credit to right the wrong that was done but dont feel theyll reach out anyways so hopefully this will save your money and you can go somewhere more professional.
I was very disappointed with the quality of my wash! I drove away thinking my car was clean but about 3 miles away the sun hit my windshield and I saw spots and dirt everywhere, also the spray wash was still all over the passenger side of my windshield. The rims had not been wiped down and were very dusty and dirty.I had to pay an extra $4 to treat the tires so the total was $24.99 which was definitely not worth the shoddy work performed.I will definitely never return to this car wash!
I always enjoy going to this car wash because they are pretty fast and the quality is good. The employees are very friendly. I arrived for a wash this week and had forgotten my face mask - they had one for me at the drop-off point. I was very happy.
Today I went there for the 2nd time. They left not only dirty stains, but also scratches on my door. I noticed it last time that most of workers wear belts with metals or hard objects, and they were leaning on the car to wipe, I was lucky last time but I got scratched this time for sure. Not returning to this place anymore.

Terrible service! Last time had to bring car back as it wasn’t even cleaned inside. This time - all windows are not cleaned, tons of spots where you can see dirt right after wash. They use dirty rags to “clean”. Will never go back!

This is well run. They accommodate and do a very good job.Several times I has done waxing and more aggressive cleaning. Always satisfied. Prefer this site over others. I take the Maserati, and Porsche frequently. No worries.

Purchased the signature car wash. Attention to quality is poor, many external areas of the car had spots of dirt that easily wiped off, especially the lower parts of the car. The rims still had alot of dirt even after they wiped. The guys that did the drying did not do a good job. They rushed and seems like they only was wanted the car dry and not clean. I ended up asking for a towel to wipe and dry my 2020 Tesla. Maybe if they thought it was their car they would do a better job.Not satisfied and a unhappy customer. This was the 1st and last time going to this place.
Checkered Flag is a dependable car wash with reasonable prices and online specials. Because of their speed, they sometimes miss spots or don’t fully clean as well as you would expect, but I have never encountered a significant issue when utilizing their services. Plus, their coffee and tea machine and morning pastries are a nice way of showing customer appreciation.

Went for luxury hand wash with great expectations. However, very disappointing service altogether. There was dirt and water marks on the body and coffee stains etc on the dashboard, which were totally unattended. A very unsatisfactory service and customer who is not going back there again.Oh and yeah the lounge is pretty good but what’s the point of good lounge if the wash is no good. And no gas station as well.

Great service. They do a good job, good customer service, and they have a nice gift shop inside that sells goodies and some small accessories for your car.Its a bit pricey, the regular wash is like $17 or so, but you get what you pay for. Its a hand-wash and they wash, dry, clean, and vacuum inside and out. Theyre also careful not to throw valuables out of your car.
Extremely unhappy with their service, took car there today for luxury wash, the only thing they did almost right was vacuuming inside of car and cleanng most of the windows, Dash was not dusted, windsheild had marks on it and console still had granddaughters cookie crumps on it. Passenger side mirror covering and mirro still had bird pooh on it. Rims on passenger side werent cleaned either, they were still very dirty. When I took car back to them to clean passenger side of car they said it was water spots and they couldnt clean it, but if I paid them more money they would clean it. I was so angry said NO I WOULD NOT PAY THEM MORE MONEY. I left there came home cleaned inside windshield, dash and console and then used paper towels and PLAIN water to clean dirt off rims.I would NOT recommend them. I will find another full service car wash to go to in the future.
I took our minivan in today to be shampooed, because a gallon of juice tipped over and spilled all over the interior. I asked for just a shampoo and a basic car wash. They went above and beyond to clean the interior and exterior. They cleaned more than just the carpet, wiping everything down, cleaning the seats underneath our carseats, moving everything out of the back area and cleaning it. Weve had a lot of sand that Ive tried to vacuum out, and when these guys finished, it was spotless! It looked amazing! I really appreciated their detail, and they were fair in charging just the quoted price. I would recommend this business.
Went for the first time today. Little bit of a wait to get in, but fairly quick overall. I paid the Super wash. Admittedly, I did not walk around the car when it was done to look at everything, it initially looked good. When I got home (8 blocks later), I noticed the yellow spots were still on the hood and it had new faint scratches. I normally wash myself and therefore notice any changes. If I did not have plans right after, I would have good back to have them correct. Little things I get, but the yellow bird spots still clearly there I do not understand. Seemed too rushed.
They used to be good...but that was back in like 2004. Every time I take my car here (and I honestly dont know why I still do...probably the convenience factor of living nearby) but every time I leave, water comes shooting out of my side mirrors to leave water spot/stains on the sides of my car. The wipe downs are mediocre at best with a lot being missed. Im usually in a hurry so I dont stop to inspect the car before I leave but the quality has gone downhill so fast here. I wish theyd take a little more sense of pride in the service theyre providing.
I got the $26 wash. Im not exaggerating when I say they were done with it in 9 minutes. Didnt get the air freshener smell that they asked me to choose. They didnt even do something so simple as wipe my display screen. There were still spots in my cup holder area as well as many other early cleanable things they didnt bother with. Not worth it.

They are very fast. BUT they are very lazy to clean inside especially . I purchased the Basic Wash for $19.99 for my mini van. They finished the work within 10 mins. They even didn’t vacuum the 3rd row seats. And the windows were all massed up by their wet clothes. Overall they did not wipe and vacuum everywhere inside. They barely removed dust and stains completely. I recalled one staff to vacuum and wipe. He said I need to pay $35 more if i want a clean car. According to him, the cleaning status I complained is because of that i bought only Basic wash. It is ridiculous. Basic wash means remaining dust and stain???

Efrain (location manager) went above and beyond for the customer experience! First time here and I came for a wash and wax. He took it upon himself and approached me and asked if I needed assistance. We had a chat and we came to realization that my lowered car wont fit on the conveyor system that goes through the tunnel (safely) without having the possibility of damaging the body of my car.So he went ahead and comped me the bucket wash ($35) and just charged me for the regular tunnel wash and wax. I know next time the price will be way more but this was a very kind gesture. This is going above and beyond. He just made himself a loyal customer. I am definitely coming back again time after time for sure.
Today was my first time taking my car to get it washed at checkered Flag, Efrain came up to me and Introduce him self, he listened to what my Concern was and what kind of wash I was looking for. When my car was ready it looked brand new like if I just bought it at the dealership. This place has great customer service and they took care of the cars like if it was their car they need to clean I highly recommend this place.
These guys do a pretty great job for the price. They miss a few spots from time to time, but are always happy to wipe down areas if you point them out. One of the only touch less car washes in the area.
They are fast and friendly, but that is about it. I had to inspect my car and make them clean all the spots that I found in plain sight. That included bug spatter. They did not vacuum the interior well and I had to redo it. Even sand in the trunk as a result of beach furniture stored in the trunk was as is. My hand held vacuum cleanner did a better job. Spent $21 to get this work done and it was not worth the money. For my second car, I will get the auto wash done much cheaper and do the interiors my self. My car does not get too dirty anyway.
Fast and dirty is the best description for this place. For $30 wash I wasnt expecting to have to finish the work myself. Areas behind door handles, around the back window wiper, parts of interior, parts of windshield werent even touched and left as they were.

As most people, Ive done my research when it comes to car washes, this one had a very high rating compared to the rest on here. Ive been taking my car here since 2009. These guys are fast and thorough. You can get good deals if you look on the Irvine paper. HIGHLY recommended.Edit: Ive been noticing more and more on how sloppy their interior cleaning has been getting. Ive always liked this car wash, but after today I dont think Ill be going back. Took it in for the luxury wash, which was decent, but the car wasnt clean still. I had to come home to finish the job. I noticed a small dent behind my door handle (which wasnt there before) and took it back. Manager wasnt available so I spoke with another gentleman, claiming that it couldnt have happened there. Refused to take responsibility. Also, I dont know what her problem is, but the cashier was in a bad mood, conducted the whole transaction without saying a word.

I was a regular here. Recently took my new Audi and was expecting a good car wash but it was horribly done. There was dirty water lines on Windows and it was dripping. Vacuum wasnt done well. Car didnt even look just cleaned with over 20 bucks luxury wash with waxing. I am not going back there again.

It seems like every time I come here I have to tell the washing attendent to get the spots they miss and its overwhelming and uncomfortable to keep pointing out areas they didnt get. They have a sanitizing special that works against the virus on surfaces.Steve, the manager, and Ricardo are fantastic employees who go above and beyond to make sure everything is done efficiently and properly. They are also both very kind, patient, and attentive to their customers.I came in for a mini detail and the car was near brand new again in an hour and a half. I came here and my car was embarrassingly dirty so I ordered the works. Wax, front seat shampoo, interior and exterior detailing. I can admit I don’t know anything about cars, but I do not know a bit about detailing. It was honestly just ok, for $80 (not a bad price) I don’t know I just had higher expectations. Had to have them clean dirty spots on my car and they redid it several times. I felt bad after the guy had to come back for the 2nd time so I’m just taking it as it is and accepting that this is as good as it gets? Manager seemed to have a slight chip on his shoulder. I’m sorry guy, do a better clean and I won’t say anything about it.
Really nice car wash. Its easy to get to and the staff is really good. Its a little pricey, but they do a pretty good job. I had to have them clean the back window again because they left water spots on it. But other than that they did a pretty good job
I’m being generous with two stars. It’s fine if your car is clean already. Went through auto wash and then dried in the sun while waiting for the hand detail. One guy then used a spray bottle and rag to mist and try and clean what the auto wash missed which was a lot. I pointed out the large swaths of dirt remaining and still didn’t get done. Gave up and won’t go back.

Damaged my car and refuse to be responsible for it.Checked your car for damages thoroughly before you drive off the lot. Otherwise you are stuck with the bill because they wont take responsibility for it.It is my first time at this car wash. I did a yelp and this car wash has a slightly better rating (3 compares to 2.5) than the one that is closest to my house.Paid $129.99 for a complete inside detail of my minivan. The wash itself was not impressive, had to point out couple obvious spots before I tip the guy $15 dollars.I came in with low expectation since the car wash next to my house is even worse, so even though I wasn’t too thrill about the car wash, I did not complain.What I did not expect is to check the damages before I leave. What a big mistake!When I picked up my car I realized the foot rest on one of the seat in the second row was popped up.I thought they dont know how to put it back and I tried it myself but I wasnt able to. I figured I will have my husband do it since I have a weak arm.Next morning we are off to Mammoth. When we stopped at a gas station I remembered it and ask my husband to put the foot rest back for me.He did everything correctly but the foot rest is till up and that is when I realized there is a crack on the foot rest.I called the car wash right away and was told to bring my car in when I get back from the trip.Chuck the manager took a look at my foot rest and basically told me he will advise the owner not to pay for the damage because I didnt notify them before I drive the car off the lot.He thinks my husband broke it when he tried to put it back. I told him I didnt hear any crack sound when my husband try to put it back. If so I would know it was us that caused the damage not them. And I asked him how he knows it was my husband that causes the damage not his employees that causes the damage. He didnt even ask his employees. The fact the foot rest was up when I picked up the car it means his employees dont know how to put it back. How does he know his employees didnt broke it?Anyway they refused to be responsible for the damage. My only mistake is I trusted them and drove the car off the lot without checking for damages.I am never going back. It WAS my favorite car wash.I noticed the cup holder area between the drivers seat and the passengers seat amd asked them to clean it again. Then the manager comes over to tell me we will clean it again this time, but normally you will have to get more expensive car wash option in order to get them cleaned. Serious? Their basic car wash is over 15 dollars and I have been getting car washes there for months! I need to look for another car wash.
Never go to this place...One of the worst car wash place.. I paid for Super car wash.. After my car wash I observed all black dirts and yellow tree sap remains the same on my car hood.. I called and asked them they told me, it goes if I paid for triple wash then only they do detailed wash. My $27.99 was just waste of money. I would have cleaned myself better than them.. Everything i go here its a rush. Very little detail to the finer details. I paid for their thriple step wax services. I always walk my truck to make sure it looks good but a week later I started to notice streaks and wax not fully applied and tire shine on my rims more the my tires. Spots inside not getting vacuumed. Just feels really rushed.
My go to place in Irvine for getting the car spruced up! It can get pretty crowded during the weekends, but hey! When you get complimentary wifi and coffee plus a good outdoor waiting area, you might as well utilize the wait time by catching up with the latest happenings on social media over a cuppa! Polite staff but not always thorough - you have to point out the spots theyve missed cleaning and theyll take care of it. The discount I receive for being an employee of a certain firm makes up for the tip given to the hardworking folks.
The basic shell auto car wash whjch costs like 10 bucks is much better than there luxury car wash costing 32 bucks
These guy use to me really good but it’s been all down hill every since Alan the manager left. I have a black car that went through the was behind another black convertible. The cars sat out in the sun and dried because they didn’t have enough help on the finishing side. Seriously don’t put cars through if you canf dry them. This wash was $25 and I had water spot and dried dirt all over the car. I pointed it out and they started spraying what appeared to be window cleaner on the car trying to get the water spot off. I finally stopped them and said I’ll take care of it. I’m used to drying the residual water off the car but this was ridiculous. A child could do a better job. I spent an hour getting grime off the wheel and using spray wax to remove the water spot. What happened to a decent hand wash in the Irvine/Tustin area. 😞😠😡😡
It isthe worst car wash on this planet. I payed 38$ for a super car wash including waxing and exterior /interior hand cleaning. I took some photos of my car after their wash: exterior mirrors are still dirty, interior of car wasnt cleaned, still fingerprint stains, everywhere . I do not recommend this car wash to anyone.
I had my car wash here the first time. I bought the basic wash package and drove away with dirty bumper and few spots unclean on my car. I guess Irvine doesn’t have many “hand” car wash places so the price and service quality are not as competitive as other cities. Should I give it a try and pick a more expensive package next time?
This is not a hand car wash. The car is put on a conveyor and enters a dark tunnel, where there is a very short machine sprayer rinse, two guys feverishly use dirty wash mitts to wash the car but there is very little time while the car goes down the tunnel, there is another short machine sprayer rinse, and then a machine dry. So the only hand part of this is that two people are trying to wash the car in way too short of a time in the dark without being able to see what they are doing. The results are there are a ton of missed areas of the car that come out just as dirty as they were before the wash. Do not recommend.
First time at this car wash. Pretty good wash. For the price of basic $17.99 not bad. They work hard. I will come back. Lets see if they are better for a full service.
As for the exterior, i could have gone through a drive-thru wash and it would have been same quality. The interior was a joke. When i received my car, i asked them if they could wipe the doors down. The gentleman did VERY quickly and pointlessly. I was irritated after such a long day and i left without feeling satisfied with my wash. When i got home, i had to go in an re-wipe down entirely. For $28, i shouldnt have to redo someone elses job. I wont be going back.
This car wash delivers consistent service thats affordable and quality driven. If I ever had a concern, Oscar H. was more than willing to explain the wash packages and additional services that they offer. This is definitely go to spot in Irvine.
Paid for wax 70 dollars and it looked like oil all over my car. Took it back they said I would have to wait another 3 hours to have someone to work on it. Got my refund of the wax but not the wash and my car has a film . . It was not great customer service.
Took my Nissan to get washed. Basic wash $18.99 pretty pricey for a basic wash. When it was done I didnt think twice to look at the front hood till I went to the bank then noticed all the dirt and mosquitos on it and the side mirrors. I went back and they washed it again and this time they cleaned it really nicely.
Staff and quality of services are always impeccable. Prices have gone up but its worth it when you need a good quick overall cleaning of your car. The free coffee and pleasant waiting areas are a plus.
Purchased the super wash. The interior was still dusty when I drove off the lot. They also opened the hood of my car(to clean?) But they didnt close it all the way. Didnt notice til someone pointed it out to me. The wash wasnt worth the price
Absolutely this is the worst carwash that I ever used!I took my car there during the afternoon time, paid 26 (25.99) dollars for luxury wash and then when I took off to go back to work and as soon as I arrived to work which its only 1 mile away from this carwash place, I noticed that the car wasnt cleaned well (all the door steps were dirty, lower parts around the car were dirty, area around tires and wheels still have brake dust).I was wondering if I didnt choose luxury wash what they would have done?! Probably they wouldve taken the car and do a U-turn and bring it back as is..... Waste for time and money.......Advise: stay away from this place and pay $10 or less for any automatic carwash which its going to give you much better result or find a better hand carwash.By the way, there was only 2 cars including my car getting washed and there were about 6 employees cleaning these 2 cars , so I cannot even think of an excuse for them like they were super busy and thats why they did a bad job.Another thing to add, I vacuumed the car and cleaned the interior before I took it there so the interior was super clean, so all what I was looking for is just to clean the outside which they didnt do it as they supposed to.I cant even think how some people could run their business that way!

This place is one of the most professional car wash Ive been too and its 100% hands wash! They have complimentary coffee and a full friendly staff. Dont forget to ask for their special or their $2-3 off coupon they have online.
Great spot to get the car washed and cleaned. Dont worry if there is a long line once your car is out they will have you on the go in 15 minutes. Plenty of staff to accommodate the customers.
Hands down the worst car wash in orange county. I worked here for nearly two years and instead of thinking of the customers and the quality work, the main focus was getting more cars in to make profit. Of course, I understand that its business, but there needs to be pride in the work place when providing the best quality. An example, rags that were being used to wipe down the cars were used to clean the restroom as well and would circulate back into the towels as I mentioned to wipe down the cars. I would bring this up to the so called supervisors and they would ignore it. Their excuse was we cannot be waisting more money on towels. I as a worker would try my best to provide the best towels for customers because they deserve better.In addition, with the bling bling product most workers would not wipe down the inside or use the correct product to fully give the detailed work they charge customers for. Do not believe me? Then really observe how the workers work around your car. You will see they worst quality and for that price you can do it yourself and save money.I am not a worker who got fired, I left on my own terms because I could not be working for people who are dishonest all around. I provided the best quality to customers as much as I could, but with the leadership that was there they did not appriciate it and would say to hurry up because we needed to get to more cars.
No matter the option I choose my water spots are there. I lived around here. There is no other car wash around.
Not worth it, I ask the guy that clean the windshields because it has some fingerprints but they didnt touch it. The cleaning with the vacuum inside the car was a very poor job. I wasnt asking for good timing, I wanted a good cleaning on my car.

This place has been around for a long time and it shows in their experience and fluidity of the work flow.
Super helpful, thorough, and attention. My tires are still clean a month later. Manager came and shook my hand when it was mentioned that I was a first timer there. They forgot my air freshener that came with the package that I paid for, but I cant even deduct a star for that because I was so impressed. Make use of the free coffee and outdoor furniture, because that is as deep as this place goes. As for how they actually clean your car, the express wash is nothing special. Above all else, NEVER, EVER have your car detailed here. They will ruin the rubber, plastic, dashboard, headliner etc. Two days after detailing my car here, my black exterior rubber turned white and started cracking. I found dark stains in my headliner. The armorall on the steering wheel was filthy. Im quite sure they used the same rag they used on the tires. Grease stains on the driver-side seatbelt. A complete DISASTER.
Second time I tried these folks. First time they let my car air dry in the hot July sun. It was covered in dry soap, grime and dirt. This last time some goof ball kid came in and asked how to start my car? I said the same as every other Ford starts. He left and did not return? Got my car back, streaks of soap and dirt all over it. The rims and tires were never touched, rims had brake dust all over them. Third times a charm, but they will never get the chance. Back to Mannys at the MarketPlace, they may be slow, but at least you get a clean car back!

They get your car in and out fast, but like a lot of the other reviews said, the interior never really gets that clean. I’d prefer waiting 5 more minutes to have a better job done.
Pricey and doesnt really do a good job on exterior dressing. It seems like they are on a hurry to turnover cars. Just like what the other review says the rims were never touched. You can still clearly see all the brake dust and grime after. Not really worth the money. No bueno!
It went by pretty quickly, but thats probably why my wash was half finished. I paid for the $29 luxury wash and they did a very half-butt job. I am not pleased with them and I wont be coming back.
They are fast and friendly. I have three kids who like to make a mess in my car. When I dont keep on them I bring it in and they get it back to a great state. They can do it much faster than I can at home so it is a good deal for me.
My car was still dirty. There were still bird poop spots on my windsheild and inside windows were still dirty and the dash was still dusty. No one even called me when my car was done. I walked up to my car, the keys were inside, I got in and drove off. No one asked my for my receipt, heck I could have driven off with a car that wasnt mine!
It was my first time getting car wash here and it definitely is last. I paid for SUPER Package and the car looked like was not washed at all nor did it look clean from inside. Unhappy.

I took my brand new car here last week and was disappointed that later when I drove home I found windows that were greasy and bird droppings that apparently werent cleaned off. Seeing as it was brand new, I feel like it left there worse than it was when I pulled in. With that being said, I like the place, they have friendly staff and a lot of nick-nack shopping available in the store.
Ive been coming here for five years. Its pretty inconsistent: sometimes I get a good wash, sometimes not. I think Im going to start looking around for better quality after my wash card runs out.

Had to flee abusive situation had my car stuffed with valuables. Asked employee please only one person drive thru and do exterior only. When I unpacked a Macys bag with close to $300 of new clothes with receipt missing. No one else had access to my trunk and I have alarm. No one had permission to open the trunk and they aware lots of valuables. Stupidly I trusted no one would take anything and walked to CVS while my car was in their care. Obviously there is at least one employee who had a field day. A bag with 2 set earrings and necklace with receipt. Dont leave valuables in car if you use this place. You might get someone with sticky fingers!!
I went in to go wash my car here, and it says that they waxed it also, but there are minor water spots on the car, and the mirrors, and my sun roof. Im not going here again.They work really fast, but I also want my hand wash AND my wax job to be worth what I paid!

I take my car because it supposed to be better results compare with machine wash, but unfortunately its not. Also, the staff is not that efficient and always I found unclean places in my car. I think I will find another place.

Its a little disappointing to see this car wash drop in its service quality. I used to be a regular here, but I stopped going after a few bad cleans were done. Decided to give it a second chance recently, but I was still disappointed.
Awful. I spent extra money to do it off-track because of the custom paint job. The guy used very little water, and I could almost hear the grit just raking over my paint. Made me cringe. $30 off-track wash doesnt mean better, it just means the guy wipes it forever drying it, takes longer, and doesnt do a good job. There were literally still bug guts stuck to the front of my truck. First time and last time..

This is a nice car wash. They do a good job here for a moderate price and usually under 15 minutes.
When it comes to speed this place definitely has it. The two big downsides is every single time I come here I feel like they always miss a ton of spots. I get it there are certain things that people miss but when its obvious ones like its what really bugs me.

2022-05-22Got the ultra luxury package, was anything but. Seems like the car got a light wipe down as someone jogged past it. Would have been better off going through a gas station car wash with the windows down. Every single surface is still dirty.

2022-08-08Ive been coming here regularly for a few years, and Ive noticed an overall drop in quality. More recently, since they underwent some reconstruction and rebranded as Luxury rather than Hand wash, its gotten worse.I just tried the luxury package, which was $35, and look at the results (pics included). They did a very shoddy job, and I could see how fast they churned through washing my car; they werent even busy! I could tell that they werent taking time like they did in the past, and the results show. I usually got their basic hand wash for $22, and it always turned out better than this. Moreover, I believe I was supposed to get $5 off for the luxury package as a part of their promotion, but I didnt!This is the last straw for me. I will not be returning to this checkered flag in the future.

2022-08-21Been my go to spot for almost two years. 5 star establishment and service. Recently changed to no longer doing extra services so you cant get your mats washed and have to get the express hand wax ($75) to get the interior and exterior dressing. Really hope they bring the custom services back one day... Hate to look elsewhere for someone who will do the mats, dont mind paying the extra money. Typical luxury wash, dressings (tire, exterior, interior), and mats for me was about $90 before tip. But their base and great wash is only $24. Very good at what they do most days, but overall would not recommend for a thoroughly detailed job.

2022-08-01This car wash used to be great, one of the few hand washes left in town.Since this car wash has been converted and is no longer a hand wash, instead it goes through a machine the quality has gone down significantly.It is also unnerving that they charge the same prices as they did when it was a hand wash!Today, they are running a promotion for $4 off- however this is ONLY available for their lowest level of car wash. How does that make sense ?Its evident traffic has also slowed at this business. Can’t believe a business owner would make these decisions… unfortunately many of my neighbors also have plans to find a new car wash in Irvine.

2022-06-12This is my fifth time and I am really disappointed. I had luxury coupon but they didnt even washed the car well, not to mention skipping water wax part. Water marks, hand marks, and dirty spots all over. Did not vacuum the hatch back trunk. Did not give the scented mini squares and you have to check everything and ask for it. I think no matter what kind of service that you choose, they will just wash it and skip the rest because there is nobody to manage them. I will not go there again.

2022-05-29One day I happened to be in the Irvine area and decided to get a car wash. I googled one nearby and Checkered Flag Hand Carwash popped up. This place was in the parking lot of a small business center. Wasnt expecting that but ok...fine. The entrance of the carwash was right by the entrance to get into the business center so there was a bit of a congestion but nothing too terrible.The line moved quickly. This was my first time here and I paid for the $29.99 car wash. The guy vacuumed my car, washed it (they used a huge bucket filled with soapy water for all of the cars) and drove it to a parking spot to finish up. I went inside a cute little gift store to pay, where the staff was helpful and friendly. It didnt take long for them to finish with my car, which was great!They did a good job on the outside other than the fact that there was still a lot of brake dust and dirt on my rims. When i checked inside the car, there was some dust on my dashboard (guess he missed some spots). I thanked him, tipped him, got in my car and left. If i am ever in Irvine and in need of a carwash, i will not be coming here.

2022-07-26Fast but for $29 you dont get much of an interior wipe down. They also dont offer armor all inside, its all quick wash now.Not a good value.
