High pressure from LAX agent to upgrade from compact to mid-size SUV. Said no to additional $32/day. She then said what about $22/day. I said fine just to get out of there. I had booked and preferred a compact car. Then she said a hotspot/WiFi device was included at no addtl charge and I later found out I was billed $109+ for it. The WiFi device would not charge so it was moot, and I was able to get a refund when returning the car. At SFO, we returned car and had to stand in Budget rental line for 45 minutes to get a credit for the defective WiFi device. There was ONE agent working and 10+ customers in line. At one point, there were ZERO agents available. The entire Budget experience was subpar. The shuttle driver at LAX to the offsite rental car office SPIT out his window THREE TIMES into traffic. #disgusting I have to rent a car later this month, and it will definitely NOT be with Budget. Just terrible. (Photo: empty budget Customer Service - SFO)
At first it was a little off. I was told to go under a specific pole at LAX and wait for a budget shuttle bus. But after 10 minutes nothing came, and so I asked a Avis shuttle bus driver who was kind enough, to drop me as close as possible to Budget. Upon arrival, I wasnt greeted by anyone and so I was unaware of how the lines worked at this location. Shortly after some confused looks, I asked a security guard for some assistance and she kindly directed me. I did however, appreciate the strictness on how many persons can enter the location (one person per spot on the floor), especially with COVID running rampant. At the desk upfront, I was assisted by someone. Now, I cant comment much because this was my first time renting a car, but she was helpful and kind. Overall, I would say the process was quick, maybe 30 minutes or so. Now returning the car, it felt a little off. I was told to drive the car up and leave the keys on the dashboard and take out my belongings.. and that was it. Again, this was my first rental experience and so I was kind of looking for more direction on what to do next. So I walked back to the front desk and was told yes, that was all I had to do. Comforting, but still confused. Finally, I waited on the shuttle bus (there were two this time-thankfully) and waited to be dropped off to my gate
Rented through Costco, picked up my car elsewhere (great experience) and then returned at LAX. Shuttle driver was fine although minimal information about when shuttles were leaving, etc. Was told I would get an email receipt soon and did not, so several days later I checked my credit card statement and they charged me 50% more than what I agreed to through Costco. Called customer service, and was told that I did not return the car with a full tank of gas and that was a $60 charge (another charge I had agreed to on renting the car) - when I told them that I had tanked to full prior to returning and had the receipt to prove it, they magically found that I had indeed returned it as full tank, and were happy to refund my $60 charge.Definitely check your charges, keep all your receipts, and do not rent from this franchise. The main customer service was nice enough and not problematic, but would go out of my way in the future to not rent from this particular franchise at LAX.
Terrible Service! I waited with my daughter for the rental company to pick us up for 45 minutes. After waiting in LAX terminal, we took our own transportation. We were loaded with bags and very tired. I was quoted in good faith a rate including taxes. When I got my bill, I was charged over double. I was charge every kind of fee they could think of including a late fee, extra insurance etc. I specifically said, I do not want insurance...I have my own! I tried to speak with someone regarding the matter and he would not listen. He spoke over me and told me I was wrong and no adjustments would be made. My car was NOT late. As a matter of fact, I confirmed the time that it was due back the day of return. Terrible customer service. Good Luck getting someone to listen or even pick up the phone. I asked to speak to a manager and was just left on hold. Not worth the aggravation and extra money!
The line was an hour and 10 minutes long to get to the counter. When I got there, they showed that my prepayment wasnt the full amount. I had to show my credit card statement and 30 minutes later they manually credited the account. Then they brought the wrong car around. Total time spent there, 2 hours and 15 minutes for a fully prepaid and online checked in rental. The staff was very friendly, but Budget is a disaster.Update: I posted this too early. They double booked the car and gave it away. Didnt find that out until after 45 minutes of waiting. 3 hours in, still no car. Will miss our dinner reservations. Thanks Budget.
The Budget mystery car might not be the way to go. I had a few issues with the car. I picked the car up at LAX. The young lady who assisted with my picking up the car was great! She did push the insurance a bit much but, they all did. For the most part, she was very good. The returning process is questionable at best. I was still charged for a fuel fee and we filled the car up before returning it. They do not issue any sort of receipt and/or confirmation regarding the returned vehicle. Very factory/assembly line return process.
The car was fine, the drop off was fine, but the person who helped me when I checked in added extras that I had already opted out of when I made my reservation. I caught at least one, but they also led me to believe that Budgets minimum car coverage, which I had already opted out of as well, was mandatory. Im now quite sure its not and it drove my bill up by a lot. They also said their gas deal was the best price I would find, which was definitely untrue (I saw better prices even just on my way out of the LAX area). Not a fan.
Never again. This is a full on scam.I brought my car a day early and made sure prior to returning it that Id get refunded if I brought back the car early. They said sure no problem. I bring it early and make sure its within the correct timing so I wouldnt be charged an extra day and made sure to fill the gas tank. As soon as I dropped the car I went to reception asking for proof that I dropped off the car. The clerks said Id get it in my email within 15 min. I wish I stayed. Because 10 days later and still nothing despite multiple emails and no refund and no receipt. I just called and they are not only claiming I brought the car back late but also charged me for a full gas tank. The agent claimed I have no proof. Of course I have no proof, no one would give it to me. This is disgusting. Never again will I rent a car at budget. The level of service is trash.
Terrible, terrible, terrible. Save yourself a head ache and use Avis or Enterprise, weve never had issues renting from them. This was our first budget experience.Started by waiting for over 15 minutes at the terminal, saw 3 other enterprise shuttles go past, and no budget ones. Finally when it came and we got to the the rental hub, it took nearly 30 minutes at the counter trying to get the vehicle. We booked our car through Costco, and when we got to budget I explicitly said 3 times no additional insurance or options. The the person at the desk told me to put my card in the machine then just walked away, the amount on the machine was nearly double what was quoted from Costco... I asked several other employees where our rep went and they all said they didnt know, so I took my card out of the machine after 10 minutes and the person sitting next to our agent said Well now youve done it, shell have to start the whole thing again. Finally when our agent came back I asked why the charges were so high she said thats what they were... I asked her to walk me through the charges, and she had added in a bunch of insurance I didnt want, I told her to take it off and she said All Canadians have to take this I said no and then she said that we had no choice, I said Im paying the amount on the quote from Costco and thats it. She vanished again... When she again came back very upset at me for not taking the extras, I asked her what kind of car we would be getting and she said a jeep compass and tried to upgrade me to a 4 Runner because she said a compass was too small for a family of four. I told her Id booked a midsized SUV, and that a compass seemed small. She said it was their smallest SUV, I said Id booked a mid sized... Another argument ensued... Eventually after 30 minutes we ended up getting a Subaru Forester and for the price we wanted but the experience was terrible. When we went to return the vehicle their lot was so full they had no room to take anymore return vehicles and they routed us around the parking lot many times. Their return directions are not clear. The staff member then proceeded to swear multiple times in front of my children. I will not rent from budget again. They are too busy trying to upgrade your charges that they forget to provide good customer service.
Summary - Do NOT rent here.1 star given - this rental car location is extremely busy, hours long lines to wait for a car. The car deserves 1 star simply because the car drove fine, however, the inside was filthy dirty, stains on all surfaces, and smelled of urine and cigarette smoke. The outside of the car had minor scrapes and bumps as expected with a rental, (which was insanely overpriced for 4 days) however the inside was completely unacceptable, unclean and so dirty. Had we not waited so long for the car, we would have asked for another one but I assume all the cars in the lot were all in similar condition and we were on a tight schedule for work related meetings.Im not sure if this is true of all Budgets rental car locations but they would not allow the rental with my personal car insurance because I live out of state (MA). They claim in the event of an accident, they will not deal with personal insurance so if you waive the additional fees for their insurance, you assume all responsibility in the event of damage. Ive never experienced this at any other rental car company. We paid an extra $20/day for their insurance. I dont even think it was for full coverage in the event of an accident and this was not shared with us until we were signing for the car and reviewing our receipt. I felt completely ripped off.As if all that werent enough, I am currently on hold with Budget 3 weeks after renting this car. This morning my credit card company contacted me saying an additional $250 charge from Budget was processing. We returned the car in better condition than we received it with no damage. I spoke with a representative from Budget who says he does not see record of this additional $250 charge on my account and transferred me to billing to clear it up. I am now in the process of ordering a new credit card because I think they kept my information on file and now someone else is fraudulently charging my card. Ive also been on hold for an hour with no answers yet. What an absolute headache, do not rent from here!
The car was clean and in great working condition, and the shuttle driver from LAX friendly and damn skilled to navigate that traffic in a big bus. The rental terminal was clean and smelled great…but the rest was all bad enough I’ll never rent Budget anywhere again. I only went here as our corporate policy direct bills. There is lots of staff to help process the long lineup, but they’re working so fast the options were thrown at me rapid fire without explanation. I was told several times that something was “just how it’s done in California.” I was asked to take an SUV instead of my reserved small car, because their inventory is low and I drive a bigger vehicle at home I could handle it, but the price I was quoted wasn’t the price, it was IN ADDITION to the original price. I would not have accepted that had I known, they framed it as me doing them a favour. When I opted to fly home from a different airport the 1-800 number could change the location but not the date, and had zero idea how I would even do that (it is something I do frequently with other companies). I tried calling the airport branch where I intended to drop off and could not get an answer any time of day despite repeated calls. The website was unable to process my changes. It also held ZERO information about the airport drop off procedure, critical for an after hours/early morning departure. Then I had to fight for a receipt! Two different emails from customer service asking for reviews prior to a receipt. The whole experience was frustrating from two locations and corporate. Just avoid.
We are Fastbreak members and Budget has always been efficient with clean cars and great service. This last time around we had such a great experience I had to post. Maybe management will see this and everyone gets a raise?!Picked up a last minute rental at LAX and the 2 ladies at the Fastbreak counter were super friendly and helpful. While we were getting our car situated, my son lost his Apple Pen for his IPad. We didn’t realize until we left. When we returned the car, we figured it was a long shot but we asked anyway. Everyone from security to Fastbreak counter and 2 supervisors helped us look for it! Like the whole squad. After searching and putting together clues (it was a whole 20 min scavenger hunt) the pen was located! We appreciate the whole team effort and so thankful to have a happy toddler for the long flight home. Everyone went above and beyond! Thanks so much Budget Team!
Worse place to rent a car. They lost my returned vehicle and for the new reservation worker was trying to hook me up with OPTIONAL insurunce. She was kept insisting and trying to add it to my rental. They try to upsell you stuff. I had to keep saying NO a million times times. Waited an hour here. Unhelpful workers. Uneducated supervisors.
It all starts with the shuttle drive. He was efficient and courteous. Very helpful with the bags. Once we got to the rental facility, the lines were long and there was a wait. But everyone there was so helpful and efficient. Doing their best to get everyone going. The guy that helped me was very understanding. And did his best to accommodate the situation, knowing everyone was waiting for a while.
We arrived at Budget LAX at 1:00AM, it was a rare rainy night in Los Angeles. The line was unbelievably long that extends way outside the rental building. There were only 2-3 customer service reps working. We waited almost 4 hours in the rain and finally got a car (not what we reserved, because they ran out of vehicle) at nearly 5:00 AM. Did I mention the roof outside of the building was leaking so we all got wet? The car we rented has used facemasks in the glove compartment, and it smells like weeds. Was it even cleaned before being renting to us?We returned the car 5 days later, at the designated parking lot. A service member in dark uniform shouted to all renters leave the keys inside the vehicle, leave! I walked up to her for a receipt and told Just LEAVE! Get on the shuttle bus, LEAVE! and no receipt was given.A few days after we returned home, I received an email from Budget saying our rental car was not returned! not in their inventory. I gathered all evidences I could think of; the hotel receipt, boarding pass, GPS data download, etc. After numerous phone calls and emails, they finally closed our rental agreement. This is truly my worst car rental experience ever, will NEVER rent from Budget LAX again. I wish I could give this place 5 negative stars.
Mediocre experience. Shuttle took forever (saw numerous Enterprise and Avis shuttles pass by) but driver was extremely friendly. Check-in took a long time due to problems with their computers and I never did receive a rental agreement (even though they said it would be emailed, I guess they dont do paper copies anymore). The car itself for a Full-size rental was a Chevy Malibu which I really didnt like and asking for a different car would have probably taken an hour for them to do. Nice surprise though was at the return, I filled it up with more gas than I received and they actually refunded me money for that, never seen that happen before.
LAX location. Pickup was fine. Car was fine. Return: maneuvering multiple pieces of luggage through the tightly parked rows of returned vehicles to the shuttle area was NOT EASY. Perhaps a secure spot near the shuttle, to unload luggage before getting jammed in the lineup would be helpful. Our shuttle driver to the airport did not drop take riders directly to our departure gates as one would expect. Instead, he went to arrivals to pick up passengers, filling up the shuttle with more people and luggage. He then dropped all departing travelers off on the arrivals level. This left everyone having to search for their airline counters when usually we are dropped off AT THE CORRECT LEVEL right outside ticketing. There are also no luggage carts available at arrivals leaving my son and I struggling with our 3 massive suitcases and hockey equipment trying to get up the escalator to the departure area. I am a frequent traveler to Los Angeles and I was NOT IMPRESSED with this service whatsoever. That shuttle driver needs to be trained on where and when to drop off and pick up. (This occurred morning of May 28/22.)
I rented a car from Budget at the 9775 Airport Avenue location after arriving at Los Angeles Airport (LAX). My reservation was made through United Airlines, a PARTNER of Budget Car Rental. When I got home and received my e-receipt from Budget, the charges were considerably higher than the charges that were confirmed through United Airlines when I made the reservation. Charges that were INCLUDED in the United quote appeared separately on the Budget Receipt. I did elect for additional services which added to the cost but I am not referring to those.I politely called Budgets Customer service to discuss the discrepancies and was essentially told that the United Airlines confirmation didnt matter, that Budget was charging me their rates.Essentially, Budget was not honoring Uniteds quote. After several minutes discussion with a very rude Customer Service Rep and getting the same unhelpful answer, I asked to have this escalated to a manager. She told me I couldnt do that. I then asked her name and SHE HUNG UP rather than provide some identification other than her name, which I understand could be due to security concerns, or some other possible options.I would hope that Budget trains their Customer Service Representative to be helpful, not rude and argumentative, and certainly not to hang up on customers.I will say that the front desk representative when I picked up the car was very polite and helpful.Mary Ann K.
Thank you team LAX BUDGET! I AM always a happy camper with you all. Open 24-7 no hidden fees and amazing staff. The shuttle bus could do a little bit better by actually picking up customers. I had to catch a ride from the airport to Budget rental from a different shuttle bus then walk across the busy street to Budget. I understand that it’s a tedious job but let’s carry on the great customer service all the way through. Overall thanks everyone
Budget completely failed to check-in my car properly into their computer system upon my returning it to the LAX Budget Rental facility. This after only a few hours of rental use on a single day. Then, they continued to charge my credit card. To make matters even worse, its near impossible to get any help to properly resole the crazy issue!!! Despite my repeatedly contacting them, providing specific details & documentation of my flights into LAX and then out again that same day, it remains unresolved. And as everyone well knows, all rental cars have GPS trackers installed, so it is very easy to know exactly at any given moment, precisely where any vehicle is. Totally unbelievable. Unprofessional. Dishonest. Be very, very, very careful not to rent a car at LAX from Budget Rental Car. Pay more and go to a reputable, trustworthy rental agency. Renter Beware.
First off waited at LAX and no shuttle ever came by we hitched a ride then the car was bad shape, customer reps dont have the best attitude or willing to help. Worst car rental i have ever had. This was my first time using budget and definetly will be my last. Car was deinetly not the cleanest. Seat was broken, ripped, stained dented and has a key scratch all along the side. First vehicle we got had no gas, lady told me to take it to the pumps I told her that is their job. They changed our jeep and gave us one that had all these issue. Not to mention my reservation was paid in full but they charge $14 a day additional for insurance..During a time where sanitation and cleanliness should be a priority the office is filthy and cars are definetly not sanitized.
This is one of the best Budget rental counters Ive experienced - they had many service reps working and the wait time was minimal. I had to change my drop off location, and that process over the phone was very smooth also. The turn-in was quick and efficient. I didnt give a 5-star rating for 2 reasons: 1) the additional cost of changing my drop off location from LAX to ONT (San Bernardino) was pretty steep - it doubled the overall price of the rental; and 2) the rental car shuttle signage outside LAX is non-existent, or at least very hard to find. I walked all over the exterior looking for a purple sign for the rental car shuttle pick-up point. I finally just flagged down a Budget shuttle at a crosswalk/traffic light, and thankfully, the driver allowed me to get on there.
They charged $125 extra because there was some sand on the floor.. its southern California, theres desert and beaches everywhere lmao, like were you guys not going to clean the car anyway before renting it to the next person? The most ironic part is that we actually cleaned the car the best you can without going to a car wash before dropping it off.. Also, expect an extremely long wait at LAX for the shuttle. Every other car rental company will have 10 buses go through while you wait for budget. Literally anywhere else around LAX would be a better option.
We rented from Budget at LAX on 12/26. We waited for 90 minutes at midnight to get the car. The rental agent was nice and friendly. We returned the car a week later without incident. Then three weeks later, they charged our card $450 (without notifying us). When we called, they said it was for smoke smell (we don’t smoke) and excessive sand (there was some sand on the floor of the back seat). This place is a scam! Do not rent from them. I filed a complaint with the BBB and will be taking it up with our credit card company as well.
This is the 2nd time I have rented from Budget and both times and different locations they have tried to charge me for gas when I filled the car up. I try giving them the gas receipts, and they said they dont need that. Then, days later they charge me.This time at the great LAX was even better. They not only charged me for the gas, but I had prepaid and they charged me again. I turned in the car at 7:30 am and they didnt get around to checking it in until 10am. So they threw in another whole day charge.I have called customer service twice to get the charge off. The first time they only gave me a partial refund.Yeah. Im done with Budget.
Very crowded. I suggest you use the free fastbreak membership. The car will be waiting for you when you arrive at Budget. On the other hand, if you decide to not use the fastbreak membership you will have to wait 30 minutes (maybe more maybe less) to get yourself a car. Make sure to take pictures of the car before you use it as proof. The customer support is not that good and they will hang the receiver when you call them after being charged with a cleaning fee after being given a dirty car.
Budget was very good to us we had an issue with another rental car place at la called priceless never never use them. But luckily they were across the street and we were able to get a car for our trip. The employees were friendly and helped us out tremendously. Thank you budget you saved our trip.
We picked up our rental at the LAX location and about a half hour later, the low fuel light came on. Unfortunately, we checked the outer vehicle for scratches, dents etc before we left the rental agency but failed to ensure that the gas tank read full therefore, shortly into our journey, the low fuel light illuminated. Not a great way to start a vacation but we took pics of the low fuel reading and mileage and filled up the tank which cost $85. When we returned the vehicle, we asked how to get reimbursed the $85 to which a nice gentleman looked at the pictures evidencing our claim of the low fuel tank when we received the vehicle and cost for gas and he advised someone over the radio to credit us $100. Unfortunately, I didnt think to get it in writing or get his name. After several days of not seeing the credit, I called customer service and was told that they didnt show we were due a credit. I asked how I can get in touch with the LAX location and was told that I cant and then was disconnected. I emailed customer service and again, included the pictured of the empty tank and gas receipt and have yet to hear anything back. I will never rent from Budget again if this doesnt get resolved to my satisfaction. Ill update my review if this gets resolved but as of now, that seems unlikely! UPDATED: My email was answered and I was provided with a $100 credit off my next rental to which I responded was not acceptable reimbursement. I was then promised reimbursement of the fuel purchase amount of $84.20. That has now been credited to my credit card and I am satisfied. Additionally, the operations manager reached out to me and apologized for the situation and promised reimbursement. Its unfortunate that it took writing a bad review and multiple communications with customer service to get this resolved but based on the fact that it did get resolved to my satisfaction, I will consider giving Budget another try.
We ordered and paid extra for a convertible months in advance. A couple of days before we left I called Budget and they told me they had plenty and my convertible would be there waiting for me. When we got to the airport after 5+hours of flying we were handed a Dodge Challenger NO CONVERTIBLE! I went back in and complained and they told us sorry we are all out of convertibles. I told them to refund my money and give us an economy/compact they told us they could not do it. They would let us return the car without filing it up. THAT IS NOT AN EQUAL EXCHANGE. Furthermore, we wanted the convertible for the experience and enjoyment while we traveled the PCH my kids had a much limited range of seeing with the tiny windows in the Dodge. However, after 5+ hours of traveling we were in no mood to stand there and argue. I wish we had. It ruined the trip
Use budget regularly but have mixed feelings about the lax location. While other companies have a solid rotation of shuttles picking people up almost every minute, budget had a 15 plus minute wait and crammed 30+ people into the shuttle with nowhere to move. Originally I would have recommended avoiding this location due to the shuttle experience, but things turned around at check out. Friendly rep and was taken care of quickly. Given choice of vehicle and had no issue with rental.
Renting a car here was easy. Probably because I paid for it when I made my reservation. I really don’t like the fact that it took more than a week for me to get my final receipt after check in, and the receipt gives me no detail as to why I didn’t get back my $250 deposit. I didn’t get insurance, I returned it filled, there was no damage to the car, I never used the toll lane - there was absolutely no reason for them to keep my deposit, but they did, and didn’t even tell me why.Advice - pay the extra money and use Enterprise. They are a top notch company and will never screw you over. Stay far away from Budget.
I reserved through Costco for a total of $349.42. When I went to pick up my vehicle, I was asked to sign paperwork $571.28. I noticed this discrepancy, and the attendant told me that the difference was simply the deposit for taking the vehicle one way and would be returned to me.He apparently lied and added a vehicle upgrade and extra insurance coverage to my reservation. I did not agree to either one of these points.I called to resolve this issue with customer service. The representative I talked to was extremely patronizing and rude from the beginning of the conversation. His only offer to fix the situation was one free day on a future rental, so I asked to speak to a supervisor. He put me on hold and then came back to tell me no supervisors were available. This is probably the second or third review I have ever left for any other product or service in my life. This was one of the worst experiences I have ever had with a company and will never use them again.
Listen to the reviews. There’s probably only a handful of people who a had a great experience and the rest not so great. This location charges for EVERYTHING, they will hit you with these “hidden charges” I was on the phone with customer service for an to figure out where they messed up. Initially I paid for a car through JetBlue. Initially the car was prepaid for $580 & I guess I paid only $330 through JetBlue. When I arrived at the counter I was told that I only had to pay a $250 REFUNDABLE deposit that will be returned a few business days after the car return. A week went by and no refund. I called budget customer service and explained that $250 was to cover insurances and it is not refundable. Staff needs to be more thorough with payments. They also tried to charge me additional fees for not filling up the gas. Luckily through customer service I was able to provide them info where and I paid for my own gas to fill the tank. They were able to adjust the charge and I was able to get some money back. STAY AWAY from this place it’s a hit or miss but from my own experience and what I’m reading, you’re better off somewhere else.
Beware!!!!! read your contract carefully before you sign. Dont trust the counter agent , they will defraud to buy extra protection or services that you declined when book online. Then, you will be stuck with the extra charge that they dont want to remove due to a signed contract. worst customer service. Will never rent from Budget again. Go to Alamo or National.
Surprise fees at pickup!! My reservation online said it would be $500. At pickup, I had to pay for additional insurance coverage, on top of the optional coverage I chose when making my reservation. That and other fees brought the total I paid to $660. This is not acceptable. And pickup was so busy and I couldn’t hear anything, so I really didn’t know what I was signing for. This is not a good rental company when picking up. Drop off was not a problem at all, and the vehicle was great. Pickup is just a mess and you will pay a lot more than what your initial quote was online.
As you can tell from the thousand plus negative reviews, they are trained… and I mean trained to lie and con you. May look cheaper but they get you with all these extra fees and “surprise” charges. It’s like the Spirit airlines of car rentals. They have one shuttle for the whole airport or something because waited 1.45 hrs for a shuttle. Then they get you to counter and tell you that you have to get supplemental insurance because it’s the law. Then they say you have to pay for a full tank because California requires is. Then they threaten you to go rent from another place if you don’t like it… knowing they already wasted 3hrs. Yeah con artists to the max. So if you are reading this and still rent from LAX Budget, you can’t complain because thousands of people have warned you. Enjoy the arguments budget!!
I was most impressed with their LAX location. From check in to dropping off the car, all went very smoothly and any questions we had were answered promptly. We had reserved a convertible and was concerned it wouldnt be available when we got there, but sure enough, we had two different models to choose from! I was very happy!
I returned a car at approximately 6 A.M. on 4-2-22. I went to the airport and my flight was canceled. I realized that I forgot my handicap placard on the mirror so I returned to Budget since I would be in town a while. I returned only 1 1/2 hours after I turned the car in, and my handicap placard was already stolen. There is NO DOUBT I left it on the mirror. What sense would it make to take it down once on the mirror? But that is what they suggested to me. Great customer service Budget. Enjoy MY handicap placard, until you dont.
I drove 2.5 hours yesterday after flying all day in a vehicle that didnt have A/C. By the time I realized it, I wasnt driving back the Los Angeles traffic. I stop at a location, only to find out they had moved. Go to another location, no cars available that would remotely work for me. Take off work EARLY today to go to the third location, only to find out they have cars, but their system is down and refused to help. Roadside wants me to drive over an hour away to pick up a new vehicle. This is ludicrous! I spent two hours on the phone yesterday attempting to deal with this, and another hour and a half on hold to be told to take MORE time off of work to try the location again. (They dont answer their phone so you have to go in). After all this they offer a 10% discount, after calling that out they graciously (note sarcasm) up it to 20%. Oh, they offered a voucher but I turned that down because I will NEVER use Budget again so the voucher would be a waste of time. (Last time I rented from Budget the cars windshield wipers didnt work and it had a rag stuffed in the wiper fluid fill hole!)
Budget had only one shuttle for every 10 of every other brand. We waited along with a huge group of other folks trying to catch a shuttle and finally gave up after about 30 minutes. We decided to hop on an Avis shuttle and the driver was nice enough to drop us off around the corner from Budget. The counter agent was somewhat rude and the car was all scratched up. Return was super quick and easy though.
Budget Rental was close to excellent if I did see (albeit all more expensive) competitors pick-up vans passing by multiple times as I waited around 20 minutes to get picked up. Budget employees I worked with made me feel like a VIP. For example, Millie (at the LAX return site) thoughtfully bolstered me as I struggled to get my cumbersome suitcase out of the trunk and made me know she cared about my safety. The restrooms were sparkling clean, and my economy Kia rental car was exceptionally fuel-efficient and fun to drive. I rated this a five because it was close to great, there is no 4.5, and it was much nicer than a four.
Please please look over your invoice when renting with budget especially this and the Ontario location. Rented a car twice within the same month and upon looking over my invoices I noticed extra fuel charges even though I returned the cars with full gas on both occasions. One of the invoices even showed I had returned the car with full gas but they still charged me the gas fee. The other invoice claimed I didnt return with full gas. I obviously had proof on both occasions regardless . I was so baffled.Take pictures of gas meter or record when picking up and when returning. Luckily I was able to call customer service and they fixed the issues. The Ontario location didnt even pick up the phone so dont even bother. Call the national customer service instead. Taking my business elsewhere.
I do not recommend renting at this location. They lack customer service skills, are overpriced, and aren’t accommodating like more notable rental car brands. The vehicle I rented was a 7 passenger vehicle but had trunk space only big enough for 2 bags. In order to fit luggage you would have to love the 3rd row of seats and they were going to charge me twice as much to upgrade. Also, one of the seats in the vehicle was broken. It would slide back and forth because the latch wasn’t working.
The initial pickup was great, there were loads of buses, the driver was very helpful with our luggage but unfortunately he did not mention that we had to get off the bus at a different place for Fast Break. They wound up trying to give me a Ford Mustang for an economy car rental and it took us about an extra 15 minutes to swap out cars once I got out to the lot and realized they had tried to give me the Mustang. Considering gas is about $6.50 a gallon I insisted on getting a better economical car and so after 15 minutes I wound up with a Mazda which was much better than a Mustang. If you are a member of Costco there is a location about 15 minutes from the airport to save on gas 14501 Hindry Ave, Hawthorne, CA 90250
I haven’t rented many cars, but this was by far my worse rental experience. I left Budget feeling like I was taken advantage of. They exploit the fact that you most likely just landed and need to get where you’re going and don’t want to waste time looking for another rental. When I finally arrived at the counter, they didn’t have the vehicle I thought I was renting nor a vehicle similar in size. They offered a truck way bigger than we needed for a higher charge, obviously. We took it as I felt we had no other options - This was the cheapest option with enough space for bags and people.Truck smelled like smoke as soon as we got in. Once on the highway I noticed the steering wheel wobbling. Felt like the tires needed to be balanced. Later on in the trip it was snowing. Went to use the windshield wipers, driver side doesn’t work. Now they’re trying to charge me $125 cleaning fee for animal hair. There was no animal in or near the truck at any moment on the trip.Going to avoid Budget in the future. I left there feeling taken advantage of and they’re still trying to hit me with fees.
The price was pretty good compared to most rentals around LAX. Service and everything else on the other hand was not good. When we got to the counter we were told that only person could even be inside, which was not posted anywhere. Then the attitude toward us was uncalled for and very rude. We were treated like were stupid and if we did not give an immediate answer that we were a problem to them. Once we got through paperwork that we both had to sign (which I am not sure how to do with one of us outside) we were told a parking spot location and to leave. There was no choice of vehicle brand or anything else at all. The car had all kinds of scratches, dings and damage. When we tried to show it to an attendant in the parking lot which he did not care at all and was very hard to find at that. We were expected to go to a parking spot find the key on the dash and leave. All of this which we were never instructed, just told a parking location was given. Very poor service! I usually rent Enterprise and even with the cost difference I will probably be going back to them in the future.
Price was good, and car was in great working condition. Main issue was the shuttle service. We waited for 30 mins and a shuttle bus never came by at the airport to take us to Budget. We finally had to jump on an Avis bus, and then tip the driver to drop us off at Budget. Also, when at the service counter, the Budget rep tried several times to add on extra charges in a deceiving way, making it seem as though they were required, such as the added insurance and the fuel charge. I ended up paying for the fuel because I was confused about what it was, but was able to get him to remove the insurance after realizing that it wasnt a required charge.
Shuttle didn’t come for half an hour (LAX website says 5-10 minutes). They didn’t have the car type that I had reserved in advance (though I was on time for my pick up). The desk agent tried to sell me non-essential additional services, this is pretty much standard practice with car rental agencies; however, I explicitly told them I did not want to purchase the optional insurance and that I did not need a toll pass. She added them both and told me they were required. I later called customer service and they confirmed with me that they are optional, but I had already included them in my contract. Worst car rental experience I’ve had.
Crazy crazy car rental place. I was showing a employee my confirmation on my phone and he refused because his “eyes hurt when h r looked at the screen” . Shuttle bus driver didn’t help with any bags, and they double booked our car. They drove us 40 minutes late. def would not recommend even if it has better prices than others
The lady at the rental counter explained that the fuel plan would charge me for a full tank and since I would only be keeping the car for a couple hours and not going far then I should select to fill the car on my own and I agreed with this, but when I received my bill I was charged a fuel charge despite agreeing to have it removed AND returning the car on a full tank. In addition to this I declined insurance coverage several times to the lady at counter and yet there are again charges that I told her I did not want. Contacting customer support and spending time on hold is my only option to potentially having this corrected when it is an inconvenience I should have never had.
The check in agent was NOT advise to their customer like me what option about the rental agreement. I gave my ID and the agent told to charge on the card file. I gave my credit card to him and without telling anything about the rental agreement. He gave me this piece of paper that wasnt clarify and not well written legibly about the vehicle. No estimate charges was given. He just told me where the vehicle is. The vehicle weve rented wasnt assigned what we wanted. The vehicle was a bit small and the vehicle was dirty car wash. The vehicle was okay. No issue during my stay. I checked my credit card statement and I found they charged me extra $200. I dont know what was it until I found the front desk when I return the vehicle was for deposit purposes. Poor customer services in the beginning that needed to more attentive to their customers. Alamo & Hertz no issues. Budget I dont know in the future.
The Budget folks at the LAX office, from the bus drivers getting you to the office, to the office folks getting you in your car and on the road - and conversely when you return it - are on point and just who you need in your corner after a long flight and all you want is to get to your final destination. These folks and the vehicles they provide are the best. Its the care, for what they do and who they do it for that stands out. And I found they had the best price for what I was after, too. Supremely satisfied.
I signed up for FastBreak to get the car quicker; this worked fairly well, except the car was not where the monitor said it would be. Walked around for quite a while before going into the office and being informed they parked it somewhere else and didnt update the location. The car itself was good for my needs, but I was given a car which the key fob was drained of battery. It barely worked to turn the car on or to lock/unlock the vehicle. I went to another Budget location to see if they could replace the battery and they would not. They offered to swap the vehicle, but I did not have time for that process as I was on a tight schedule.Upon returning the car I was charged a fuel charge even though I returned with a full tank. I do not feel like the miscalculation was done in error, but as a way to get more money out of people, most of which would not fight it.I did end up fighting it and am due a refund; however, I am not happy with the extra time Budget took from me to correct their errors.
God forbid you need a rental asap. Just be prepared to pay through your nose. I had made prior arrangements which fell through and ended up at Budget. The place is busy (which I guess its good for business) but thats definitely not in your favor as once you reach the counter, in my case, the lady behind the counter rushed through the whole process while only putting emphasis on upgrading me to a bigger SUV and the good ol assurance that you can return the rental without worrying about the fuel level since its already included in the daily rate.BE AWARE you will be charged at least $79.99 for refill if you return the rental without filling up. I was fortunate to have returned the car with a full tank and actually took pictures of that.BE AWARE you will be charged an Airport concession fee plus a Customer facility fee.BE AWARE to really pay attention to the liability waiver fee (havent understood that yet since the e-receipt Ive just received wont download). I wonder why?BE AWARE of the road assistance fees too, which Im sure for those whove subscribed to such services, we all know how long it takes on average for them to get to you.In summary, I think platforms like Turo are a little bit or more better than this traditional way of renting cars and Id highly recommend looking into that as an option because it could end up saving you a lot of disappointment. If by any means necessary was a business, this would be a great example of why we need to have options. Dont be like me and find yourself at the Budget LAX rental without an idea of how the whole process works!
FRAUDULENT. DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE. Buses unload all at once so there is a 30 min line to get your car. It was very chaotic and when it came time to pick up my car, the teller told me I needed to purchase the basic protection. I told her I only wanted what I already paid for (which did not include the basic protection because I have insurance) When finishing up, I asked what was being charged to my card. She told me it was a $250 deposit (which you get back upon return) and $25 for the mandatory protection. When we got to our hotel 2 hours away, we read the receipt and found we were lied to. The “mandatory protection” was optional and the fee was $25 A DAY. Not a flat rate. When I called to remove it, they told me they couldn’t do anything over the phone and I needed to go back to the desk 2 HOURS AWAY to get it removed. We ended up doing that and when I spoke to the manager about the fraudulent way in which they presented information, he kept trying to convince me I needed it and was upset that he had to take it off! This place will nickel and dime you and trick you. DO NOT USE.Additionally, the first car we were given was so dirty. Sand piles everywhere. Will not use ever again.
Better than expected. I was expecting the worst after reading other Google Reviews, but everything ran pretty smoothly and I didnt get screwed over. The shuttle drivers were very helpful and friendly, as well as the front desk person. They will definitely try to sell you on a ton of unneeded add-ons when checking out your car.
On 02 June 2022, our DELTA 751 flight arrived on time, but we did wait 40 minutes for a Budget shuttle to show up at the LAX terminal. During this waiting period, we saw at least 7 Avis, 6-7 Hertz and 7-9 Enterprise shuttles coming regularly to pickup their own customers, when there were no Budget shuttles. I also called the Budget customer rep lines and had no answer. When I told the Budget Shuttle driver that we waited 40 minutes, he just said: I am here now. When we arrived at the LAX Budget location to pickup our car, the rep told us our pre-paid car was not available. He tried to see if he could upgrade our car, but it took him at least 20 minutes to get back to us. When we could finally get our cars paperwork, there was no car at the indicated location #C5. We found out that someone else took our car. When we finally got our car, the rep at the exit gate didnt let us leave with it and told us there was some safety issue with the car. This car was replaced with another one, but again there were some issues with the rep at the exit gate. She couldnt clear us and let us leave with the car. It took her at least 15 minutes and she needed to manually enter all of the car info (VIN number, plate number, etc ...) into the system. This car rental experience at Budget LAX was very stressful and took us 105 minutes to finally get a car.
Our last experience here was not a good one. We had to wait about 30 minutes for a shuttle at the airport. A couple before us had been waiting 15 minutes already. Once at the rental location, we waited in a line wrapping around the building for at least another 45 minutes before we FINALLY got service. At that time, it was evident why the service was so slow; the people at the desk were trying very hard to sell extraneous services and insurances that we did not need. We were lied to and told that we could not get to Orange County without tolls, which is absolutely false. We were swindled. No problems with the car though, which is worth a couple stars.
Customer service was great. Watch your receipts closely. I had not looked at my e-receipt I would not have known I was overcharged for liability insurance that I did not agree to. Also, I filled gas tank 2 blocks away from Budget at 76 gas station and noticed I was being charged $98 for gas. There is no way I used $98 worth of gas for 2 dang blocks. Fortunately I had to sit and wait outside of facility and noticed, normally I would have gone straight to airport and would not have noticed until I returned to east coast. Either check you computer system or do Manuel checks. Not sure if I’ll ever use Budget again
We waited in line for over 90 min for a car that was “prepaid” through Priceline. We wound up having to pay another $200+. The people behind the counter were very short and curt. The people working the lot were very helpful and friendly, however. The car was nice and everything worked well.
Picking up the car at LAX was smooth and pleasant. But when we returned the car at SFO, people there said they will charge us $10/gallon for gas. We were in a hurry so could not fill the tank by ourselves but the price was crazy! Also the tank wasnt full when we picked up the car (regreting that we didnt take a photo then). We wanted to talk to the front desk after returning but there was nobody there. Several days later, we received an email saying that they cannot find our returned car. We called Budget for hours according to the emails instruction, but nobody answered the phone. Not sure what happened even till now. Budget system is such a mess!
My final invoice was not consistent with my airline (Sun Country) estimate and contained 2 additional charges not mentioned. I am supposed to get a refund for one and was told the facility fee was charged to all airport rentals. The car was fine and the staff friendly. Bottom line: use Budget if you want to go through your invoice line by line to verify accuracy.
Customer service was truly exceptional. Especially the Shuttle Bus driver of the #15 bus on the morning of June5. Whoever she is, she should be running the Company. Actually, she should be running a lot of OTHER Rental Car companies who could only dream of sustaining the kind of patience, grace and efficiency she demonstrated. Problem with your bags? Shes on it. Ridiculous drivers impeding your flow? Find a way - keep the passengers rolling.
I was a bit apprehensive going here based on the reviews.....Let me just start off by saying my experience was great. The budget shuttle delivered my family to the location seamlessly, and my family couldnt get over how polite the shuttle driver was. Once I had them settled my mother and I walked in to get the car. The lady at the front door explained only 1 person could be in line. (due to covid) This was confusing since I was going to be listed as a driver and it wasnt until I said that was when she told me I just needed to wait in a waiting area adjacent to the line. If I was told this prior I think it would of avoided me getting aggravated. As I waited for my mom to be helped the line she was in moved pretty quick. Once it was her turn I met her and helped along the process. Tiffani was the name of the person who helped us and I cant say enough good things about her. She was EXTREMELY helpful. She had such a great attitude, and was very patient and explained stuff to us we didnt understand completely. When we got into the vehicle I thought it smelled a little funny, but due to time constraints we had to get on the road. When I finally got to my destination my partner met up with us and told us the vehicle smelled like cigarette smoke. I called budget to complain and was offered to trade in the vehicle for free and was comped 2 days. I called around to a few other budgets and I was told they didnt have a comparable vehicle to loan so I just sucked it up and bought an air freshner/ kept the vehicle. Once the trip was over I returned the vehicle and the lady working that day was polite and informative. Overall, I had a pleasant experience renting from this location and would recommend. I deducted a star due to the vehicle smell.
I had an issue with the rate I was charged when I returned my car. Andrea in customer service worked on it and got me the rate I was supposed to be charged. The car — a Toyota Highlander — was very nice and I had several great cars to consider when I was in the FastBreak area. (It’s free to sign up and you get good selection.)
We read reviews about unauthorized charges being added to peoples accounts as we waited for 40 min for a shuttle (the other rental companies came and went 6-8 times in the time it took for us to get our shuttle). The poor shuttle driver was so over worked and was trying so hard. Because we read the reviews, my husband was very adamant with the rental agent that we did NOT want any additional coverages. She assured us there was none. When we get our emailed receipt 1 hour later, there was $400 of added coverages that we did NOT authorize. We have been on hold for and hour and 40 min and still no answer from customer service. This is straight robbery!
I will never rent with Budget ever again. They try to aggressively get you to purchase multiple add on items you don’t need, it took almost 2 hours to get checked in for our reserved rental. When we had to extend our vehicle by half a day they charged us an additional $250 even though they messaged me saying they knew flights were getting delayed so they were offering rental extensions. I’ve never been so unimpressed by a company on so many levels before. They were also dishonest about gas prices and said they were $0.30 cheaper than any gas stations in the area when absolutely no one was charging the amount they quoted per gallon. I was also ridiculed for saying I don’t need them to cover the tolls and the woman checking me in tried to say it was impossible to drive from LAX to Anaheim without going through a toll which I called her out on. Guess what, didn’t go through one toll the entire 6 days we were in CA.
WORST Place to get a rental car from!! Wish I could give them no stars. MY WHOLE EXPERINCE WAS HORRIBLE! When I arrival to pick up my rental car, the place was jammed packed, when I got to the counter, they lady that helped me was very rude and short with me. She did not ask me if I wanted to add anything extra (Fuel, Tolls & Etc.) and I never received my rental agreement, she rushed me to sign stuff and told me where the car was. I tried to ask questions and her response was Its all on the rental agreement that will be emailed to you and she literally called the next person in line. I returned the rental car on 4/3/22 and I have yet to receive a copy of my rental agreement or a copy of my receipt. Since I have returned the car, I have been calling customer service department trying to get copies of my agreement and receipt, but every time someone answers the phone and I tell them what is going on, they hang up in my face. I was finally able to print off a copy of my receipt and notice that there were charges on there for things that I did not request. I tried calling again and now I cannot get through to anyone. I will never rent a car from this place again!!
Car was nice and getting a ride from airport terminal was ok. We reserved ours online and had a price in the $550 range with liability. When we showed up we were told it was a different vehicle but it was same size class. Thats fine. Ended up being over $800 with their extra charges and held a $300 security deposit (guess my card on file wasnt enough (bs) which was not told to me until right before I paid. Not transparent on pricing online, they rush you through inside so no explaining of charges, but they did have a car and I did rent it. It functioned fine and return was pretty easy. Id do more research on price prior to pickup before doing business with budget again
Avoid this location at all costs. You will turn in the car to an empty lot where an employee will tell you to leave the keys in the car and hand you a receipt saying you are good to go. Later, they will write up a damage report and you will be charged an extra $450 for smoke smell. There are no smokers in my family and no one else rode in the car during the trip so what gives, is this a scam or a mistake? Just save yourself some money and go with a pricier rental company with better business ethics. There are several other companies within walking distance and Ive never had a problem with them.
Picked up a Ford Explorer AR budget in LA. Great easy smooth transaction. Our rep at the counter Terry was extremely helpful as we wanted to upgrade our car because we had too much luggage. Put us in a new Explorer for 15 extra a day. Over all quick and easy experience.
I rented a car from Budget in LA airport in December 2021. After we were bused to the budget rental office, there was a long line already there with only one person working behind the counter. I had reserved a van/SUV but when I finally after waiting for more than an hour reached to the counter, I was told the only available car is mustang. In addition, I had to pay $127 extra for a liability coverage that I didnt need since I was already covered by my own insurance policy. I basically were told to either take the car and pay the extra charges or leave. I have rented car from budget for the last 30 years and I was appalled to see how rude the customers were treated in this location. Today, I received a mail from Budget charging me $125 for cleaning the rental car considering the car was only used less than 50% of the time. In summary, I strongly believe there is a scam of gouging the customers in this location. Please be aware that you will pay more and will receive something totally different than your reservation when you show up to pick up the car.
Topped off at the gas station less than 10 miles away (their rule). Gave the receipt to the attendant and got on my flight. Arrived home to find an extra charge of $24 for 0.4 gallons that they claim to have needed to top off the car. I have used Budget for 14 years, but wont rely on them for my next rental.
Ive rented a car online in the hopper app for budget. It allowed me to rent a car at age 21 and had no problem taking my money. As soon as we went to budget in person the guy said I had to be 25 and over. How do I have to be 25 if online it let me rent a car at 21 years of age and take my money from them. I’ve rented from budget and from hertz before at age 20 and I never had a problem. Now tht I’m 21 they don’t let me rent a car I already paid. The guy could’ve at least charge us a young driver fee but it showed he doesn’t even care. Never coming back here again
[NOTE: I rented through Costco Travel, but I don’t blame Costco for my awful experience.]I’m going to add my one-star rating to the seemingly endless list of one-star ratings. The only reason I selected one-star was that there is not an option to select zero stars. My experience was that bad.I went to pick up my car after a long day of travel. To my surprise, the total on the screen was MORE than double my Costco quote. At first they refused to give me the break down, but after some insistence, then the agent went over the charges. There was a refundable deposit, *mandatory* insurance, and a $100 gas refill. They said they couldn’t take off the insurance because it’s mandatory and they didn’t know why Costco’s system doesn’t add it. They also said that gas prices are out of control in LA, so the gas fill charge is automatically added. They said they couldn’t take that off either. They did give me the option to go somewhere else to rent a car…late at night…with my wife and kids who were already exhausted. The ratings on the Costco page appear better than those here on Google, which is part of the reason I chose them. That was a mistake and I’ve learned my lesson. If you’re reading this before renting, take my advice (and the advice of thousands and thousands and thousands and thousands of other Google users): stay as far away from Budget Car Rental as you possibly can. Seriously, with all the hidden fees and mandatory upgrades, going everywhere in an Uber might be less expensive.
I give it zero stars. I specifically said I decline all insurance and then when I turned the car in they said I signed for liability insurance (14.00/day).When people are in a hurry to pick up they’re car they’ll sign things quickly without reading it. My mistake, but they were of no help at the drop off and were unwilling to get rid of the charge.Terrible service and dishonest practice.Be careful to read the entire agreement before signing.I’ll never recommend or go back to Budget again.TERRIBLE SERVICE!!!
I rented a car on 4/12/22 and only after I drove away I noticed an incredibly strong smoke smell. Car stank for 3 days we had it, never improved. I should have called the customer service but was busy and 30 miles away and only told the person taking it back at the Budget drop off about it and he said Mem, you wont be charged. Now I get the letter saying I will be charged $450 for cleaning due to strong smoke smell!!!! Customer service rep was kind she ended up removing the charge but now I see more reviews about the same issue. Dont rent here!!!!
Very good overall experience. I loved the Jeep Wrangler Sahara I got, even thou it had over 50k miles on it, it was really clean and drived smoothly. The only negative point: the company should check if the car needs an oil change... I had this car for 2 weeks and the warning message was annoying.
I booked via Hotwire and got a good rate. The check in was crowded and difficult to hear. I told the agent I did not need insurance. He told me a deposit would be added to my credit card and I would need to press accept. I did and received my email receipt with a $23 a day damage waiver added which I did not request. I have never had this happen before with any rental company. The car was clean and performed well but I won’t use Budget again. Bad form!
LAX airport was too concerned with trying to increase the cost of the rental by selling extra services. Would not recommend at all. The location in Valencia, CA had great service. Even though the car was not as clean as we would have liked, we took it to get rid of the car we received at LAX. The return at SFO airport was easy. Will not rent from Budget at LAX again.
Waited forever at LAX for shuttle. Ended up catching a ride with another rental’s shuttle for tip. Staff at pickup was rude. Car smelled bad. Windshield was so dirty that driving at night was difficult. Cigarette burn in drivers seat. Prepaid for gas. Only used 1/4 tank. Manager refused to reimburse any thing. Drop off was quick and easy.
Horrible experience. Rent the car at San Francisco Airport and returned at LAX. Rent for 10 days, went through 2 significant issues. The second day the car required oil filter change. We nervously stopped in the mid of our way to stay over at night and wait for the next day driving to local merchant got another car from Budget. The last day when we were driving on highway to LAX, the car warned us flat tier and the car bumped on highway. We luckily got an exit on highway within several miles. It took us around an hour to finally talk to the right person from Budget over the call. They seems were trying to kick the ball around and didn’t care at all. Finally road emergency department people showed up within half an hour after the 1 hour phone call. At the end we nearly missed our flight. When we were at LAX Budget center, the Budget guy greeted us nicely asked how was the trip during the wait. We complained the above to him and he immediately changed his attitude to disturbance mood and cut us off to let us go. I’d rather he didn’t ask anything if that was the attitude. Compared to Hertz, Budget is at the level “avoid at all cost”.
Renter beware. Reserved a SUV. a week in advance as we were traveling with luggage and a toddler. Got to the counter, after waiting forever for a shuttle, and they gave us a Camry. Went back to the counter, and the guy said Well theres only three of you right? It doesnt matter how many of us there are. If I reserved and paid for a SUV, Im expecting a SUV. Wound up talking to a manager, and he upgraded us to the next size up SUV. Received car smelling like old cigarette smoke, however since it was 3 am by that point and we had a toddler, didnt go back to fight that. Returned the car, and got hit with a $125 cleaning fee for excessive dirt-sand.Do better, Budget. Will not be giving them our business again.
If you are looking for a cant do attitude, then this is the place for you. The initial car showed a check engine light after 1 day. Fought LA traffic for 1.5 hrs to return it - no acknowledgement that this caused a significant inconvenience for the customer. I asked to upgrade (and pay for the upgrade), but was met with horror that the agent would have to close this booking and open another one. Finally just left with a swap, but then the car I was given was a beater with 50K miles on it. Again, no acknowledgement of a faulty vehicle, my inconvenience, or even a display of common politeness and willingness to work with the customer..
It was a disaster getting our rental car. We waited almost 40 minutes at baggage claim and no shuttle bus showed up. Fortunately, an Alamo driver offered to dropped us across from the Budget location. Our flight was late but when we finally got to the counter, we were told we had to wait 20 - 30 minutes for a car that should have been ready 90 minutes earlier. Finally get a car, but then told it was drivable and had to get another car. The manager did upgrade us to a nicer SUV which was appreciated. On the return, in the pouring rain, it was virtually impossible to get from the return area to the pickup area trying to maneuver through parked vehicles that had no where to go. The line for a shuttle bus was at least 50 - 60 people deep and thus we opted to call an Uber to take us to the airport. Based on this experience. not likely to rent from Budget again, at least not at LAX.
No parking, which I at least knew from online. But reservations dont say to be there 2 hours ahead of rental time. We got there needing our rental car to drive somewhere on a time schedule, and were surprised to find about 200 people in line, creeping slowly. We asked if there was a separate line for people who have prepaid /paid in advance online for their rentals. The workers seemed clueless and said that nope. Theres just one line. We didnt get out deposit refunded because by the time we decided to quit the line, we were past our pickup time. No parking. Workers seemed unknowledgeable and were less than helpful. Long wait lines. Hated it.
Poor service, had to wait for over 2 hours to speak to car rental associate. Then was told that the vehicle I had reserved was not available. I had reserved for a compact car, instead they offer me a truck. Refused because the gas prices in LA are ridiculous. I then had to wait for an additional 20 minutes and they offer me a small SUV, I took it because I was tired of waiting.
We went there as a walk in customer and felt as if we were gonna be taken advantage of. We were going to be charged the maximum price and were advised not to book a car online 3rd party for any discount offers. Went to midway and and got a great car at a reasonable price and with helpful staff. Would not recommend budget
Vincent was very pleasant and helpful. While he offered all of the “extras”, he did not aggressively push it on me, which is most annoying. He seemed very worldly in a friendly way. I am all about customer service and Vincent exceeded my expectations. Probably the best experience I have had at any Budget. Thank you, Vincent!
The worst car rental experience I have ever witnessed. At first I pull up to a line that is about 100 people long. Luckily, I have FASTBREAK so I got to jump to a much shorter line.I present the woman with my reservation number and corporate account # and she looks me up for my 2 15 passenger van rentals. She then goes on to say how neither of them are ready and that one of them might not even be there.I prepaid over $1000 to ensure my reservations were made, Budget sent me about 4 reminders reminding me of my reservations, then I show up on time and there are no vans to be found.I finally got one van, but the other van had to get refunded (they dont do refunds at the location, you have to call the 1-800-#).Long story short, if you rent from this company you might as well say a prayer and cross your fingers to make sure you dont have the same experience I had.I would recommend Midway Car Rental or Enterprise. Avis/Budget are lousy companies.
After reaching the car rental area at LAX with our bags, we watched 7 Hertz vans, 5 Avis vans, 6 Enterprise/Alamo vans stop and pick up people over 25 minutes and never one Budget van. We finally jumped into an Avis van and hiked along the busy street with our bags to the Budget, where we joined a line that took 50 minutes to reach a clerk, then another 20 minutes for our car to be brought out. The car was dirty inside but with nobody around to ask for help, exhausted and angry, we simply drove off hoping our day would improve after leaving that place. Ill never, never rent at LAX Budget again. Ever.
Do not use this place! They will try to cheat you in every possible way! We returned the car with full tank (and the tank was not even full at the beginning) and still got charged 90 dollars because they claim the tank was not full. The most crooked car rental place I have ever used.
The woman who checked me in was the rudest customer service experience I have ever had. She rolled her eyes to questions and tried to make me believe my own insurance would not cover me. She tried to upscale by demanding that I had to have these upgrades by law, such as prepaid toll fees additional insurances, and insisted I upgrade to a bigger car, which I declined and finally called me husband three times to straighten out that she was not being honest. I messaged the management, they said theyd look into it and I never heard bad. No concessions were offered. This seemed to be run of the mill for them. Additionally I had to take a very bumpy bus ride away from the airport to a shady part of town to get there, which was painful for my broken back.
It was certainly an experience getting from LAX to the Budget lot. Took about 30 mins because the first shuttle went past us but we were able to make the next one.I will say that once we got to the desk it was a very quick and easy process to get the car. Took less than 5 mins, which was amazing! Our agent was great and even gave an upgrade.
I will never rent from another company again. Over the past week we rented 2 cars in LA and both times we went in the service was friendly, efficient, and professional. Last time we used Hertz and it was way more expensive and took 4 times as long even though we had a reservation that time and I signed up for their status plan. I did not have a reservation either time at budget.
Probably the worst experience I’ve had yet with a rental car company. It took over 2 hours from the time we started our wait on the airport curb for the shuttle to the time we drove off the lot with our car. We saw 10 Enterprise shuttles in the time we waited for the Budget shuttle at the airport. Once we got to the rental lot there was a huge line outside the building. When we got to the front of the outside line we were informed that only one person from our party was allowed inside the building to wait in the next line. The final thing we found upsetting was that we opted for the “pre pay” fuel option only to find our car only had just over half tank as we exited the lot. This was an expensive, time consuming learning experience that taught us we’ll never use Budget for our rental car needs in the future!
An excellent car, which turned out to be an upgrade. Price was reasonable. But, unlike at other rental companies, I didnt get a copy of the contract before leaving the rental office. An employee advised me to ask for one at the exit gate. When I asked at the gate, the employee said she couldnt give me one.
Arrived on a Sunday at 3 PM at LAX. We waited almost 40 minutes for a shuttle. When we arrived at The rental office the line was about 75 customers deep and stretched around the building. 1 hour later we got up to the rental agent, who told us we were past our pickup time and he didnt know how to adjust the time so he could process the rental. 20 minutes later, and a heapload of manager assistance. I was told that It was like this every weekend.
Shuttle pickup and dropoff was quick. However, line to get car took forever and I felt the agent at desk was dishonest. Automatically signed me up for insurance. When I asked if this was mandatory half a dozen times, she never answered yes or no. She kept repeating if you decline your credit card will automatically be charged. I told her I would report the charge as fraud. She then clarified that my credit card would be charged if I were in an auto accident to try to scare me into purchasing supplemental insurance. This went on for more than 5 min. No thanks. will be going somewhere else
Spend the extra money and go anywhere else. They say the shuttle comes but you will have to wait 30-60 mins like we did. We asked other rental car shuttle drivers if they knew if the shuttle was running and they told us it was. Even another one of their customers told us we would be waiting forever and a day to get to the rental car location. Go with anyone else if you want timely service. Oh also after calling to see if it was running they told is it was based on the customers getting on and off….it was 1 am not sure how many people are returning or renting cars at that time. Also our car wasn’t cleaned. We found other peoples trash in the car
Overall it wasnt a very pleasant experience. Flew into LAX where it took about 50 minutes to get the shuttle bus. It was raining that day but we watched all other rental buses go by many, many times over. Very frustrating. Another party said they had been waiting an hour and a half (cant prove that but they were livid). Another party actually got an uber to go to the budget location. Once we got to the budget location it was very chaotic. I wouldnt be surprised if other rental agencies were not also chaotic but seems like it could have been done much better. I didnt get the car I wanted - was upgraded for free to a mustang. Wasnt crazy about having to drive a mustang though. Not taking points away for that one because the upgrade was free and I know this is common among car rentals. Returning the car to LAX was frustrating. Returning a car to the lot should be 100% obvious where you have to go - this was not. Very poor design. Lesson learned- wont be using Budget again
Charged for additional extras that I declined on pick up. Emailed customer services whenI received my invoice by email and they advised that the charges could not be amended while the hire car policy was active and it would be rectifiedOnce the car was returned. I was told when I returned the vehicle that they cannot refund fund due to the fact I had used the extras for term of the full hire. I have always booked with Alamo in the past with no issues and will continue to in the future.
No Shuttles at LAX when we arrived. Waited over an hour at terminal 7. Finally an Avis driver who had seen us waiting on his third time around. Said he would take us and some others and drop us off at the street corner near budget. What a mess! Then I was told if I was fast break to go to the canopy. So we did, but no one was working fast break came back waited in line again. Arrived LAX at 12:02am went directly to budget shuttle area, finally left Budget with a car at 2:30am. Not a good night. No compensation, even after we spoke with the lead Aaron that evening and he said he’d take care of things for us.
The bus shuttle driver was very friendly. Apart fromme that, it was by far the worst rental car service I eher experienced. The guy at the service openly lied to me regarding the fees and prices. In the end, I was charged with way more then it was agreed. They didnt even print out a copy of the contract. I had to go to a different budget location to get a printed receipt and to top all that, the car broke down the next day. I had to exchance it. Could have been avoided because it was already due to inspection. But the guys at the budget LAX location just dont care obviously. Will never come again!
First , the pricing that was provided at check-in was nearly double the price I was quoted online. While some of this was related to optional selections I made (such as prepaying gas), much of it was hidden fees that were not communicated until check-in. This is sneaky behavior. I’d much rather pay more up front and know about it then to think I’m paying one thing and then to find out I’m paying another when I get there.Second, the vehicle I was given at first clearly had not been cleaned inside or out. Additionally, it was quite damaged. Due to the process this location follows, I was given keys but not given the opportunity key to identify the pre-existing damage prior to taking possession of the vehicle. This did not make me comfortable. I went to tell the staff inside about it, and they said simply to mention it to the attendant as I left. I shared that I was not comfortable with this, as it would not be reflected in my contract. They then issued me a new vehicle.Third, this new vehicle had also not been cleaned inside or out. There was animal hair EVERYWHERE in this vehicle, and the exterior was filthy. When I told the attendant, they told me to go inside and request a new vehicle again. This would mean waiting in line for a third time. I was able to talk them into cleaning the vehicle for me quickly. It was clear that this location was trying to cut costs by not cleaning vehicles and re-renting them as they were returned.
Just awful. No other words describe what I just experienced at this site. First, a 20min wait to be seen. Second, being given a small pickup truck when I reserved an SUV. Third, having the pickup exchanged and then being told my SUV is at either A30 or A13…..just go check both. Guess what, it was not at either! Matter of fact, it was no longer on the lot! Dismayed, I then ask one of the OUTSIDE workers for help. They were kind enough to assist but still gave meAn SUV that W’s one size lower than the category I rented. Never going her again. EVER.
Terrible experience with my wife, 4 kids, mother-in-law and myself. Manager didn’t accommodate me and didn’t listen to my concerns. I was $13 short of being able to rent the premium vehicle and was downgraded to a 7 passenger 2022 Buick Enclave. Battery died on the car and was able to get a jumpstart. My co-workers and friends will never rent from Budget. Car didn’t have windshield washer fluid and car need an oil change. Never again.
Aside from Kekes exceptional customer service, the overall service is terrible. I had an appointment to pick up the rental at 11am on Saturday 1/15. Because I arrived at 10:30, I expected I may have to wait a few additional minutes considering I was early. I did not receive a rental vehicle until 12pm. Despite the lot being full of cars, the reps gave me the run around and said they had none that fit the reservation available. However, Keke, went out of her way to leave the office and go find a vehicle for me. After she hassled a few employees to prioritize the reservation and wash the car, I finally left nearly 2 hours later.Upon returning the reservation, the following Tuesday at 12pm, I had already been overcharged. They said my reservation was at 10:25 and that they had applied an additional charge for 1 hour for $50 - this is already incorrect because I did not receive the vehicle until 12 so I had until 12 to return it, and even still how is it $50/1 hour, when the daily rate is $67? Additionally, they had applied the pre-pay gas fee, even though I told them I will be filling the gas myself, and if they had taken more time to check, they would have noticed the vehicle was returned with a full tank. These charges were already applied and I had to spend another 45 minutes disputing the inaccurate charges with a manager. I will not be utilizing the services from this Budget location again, nor will I recommend their rental services. Terrible experience overall.
The line in LA is too long. Also, the agent tried to convince me that I needed at $59.99 transponder because there were so many tolls from LA to San Diego. Luckily, I knew that was not necessary. I think that kind of hard sell is appalling. The car, however, was a good one and ran well. It was as advertised and clean and ready for use.
It’s Budget and I guess you get what you pay for. Even if you rent a high-end vehicle they were unable to assist us to get another vehicle when the A/C went out on a brand new Yukon. We had no choice but to drive from Az to Cal in 115 temp to make our flight back to NC on time. After calling Customer Service we again were let down when they said they would return our funds for 3 days of rental and now 10 days later nothing has been done. I have to again call back and wait another hour on the phone to resolve the matter.
Pros: car worked well and dropoff was easy. Shuttle to the terminal (after dropoff) was quick and friendlyCons (chronologically):- Shuttle from airport (before pickup) was very slow. Must have seen the Hertz and other rental shuttles 3-4x before the Budget shuttle arrived.- Waited at least 90 minutes to get to the counter and actually rent the car. Huge line of people, inadequate room for families to sit. My kids squatted on the blacktop leaning against luggage for an hour and a half. We were lucky it was dry. Immediately upon leaving it started raining and there were people still 90 minutes from the counter standing out there getting wet -- not enough space under the Budget awning for all of the families waiting.- After such a frustrating wait, the people at the counter gave me the hardest sales job for extra insurance and other add-ons Ive ever received. We prepaid but were told we needed extra insurance (while in reality everything had been sufficiently arranged and cleared beforehand). And then after declining the extra coverage hard sell, it was added onto our bill anyway!! Luckily I noticed it flash on the screen and had to ask for it to be removed while the agent was pressuring me to sign off on the agreement. VERY deceptive.
This is one of those places that if you had the option of not including a star, you would. To begin with the wait time for the shuttle at the airport was excessive. We waited about an hour! One shuttle passed us by, completely ignored us waving him down. When we finally arrived, the shuttle driver got the gate as he was entering the facility. When we finally arrived at the location, the line was so long, it wrapped around the building. It was another hour and a half wait time in the line.
Terrible, Don’t do this company. We got a truck, a 2021, with little miles, the truck was covered in what looked like a construction site owned it prior. Some kind of sticker label outline was left behind along side the amount of wear and tear was awful for how new the truck is. A few days after driving it, feels a lot older and my 6 year old found cigarette butts under the seat ( clearly not cleaned properly) and noticed it drove kind of weird. This is a 2021. Feels like was in a wreck and refurbished, a week into having the car, feeling weird to drive over 60 on any freeway. The car wheels lights come on, indicating the axel is broken, can’t even drive it off the hotel. We have now been on hold for over 20 minutes also indicating the emergency roadside assistance button and still on hold. Imagine we were on a freeway with our kids and the car broke down in a dangerous spot. when we called about the cigarettes, they responded with we can come out of our way on our trip to return itX another 2 hours out of our day. Do Not rent from this company. It’s a waste of time and money and safety isn’t their priority.
*We did not receive the size of car we paid for. We paid for a full sized car, Toyota Corolla or similiar, and we got a tiny Ford with no truck space.*The pre-registration price is deceiving, the employee that checks you in up-sales at every turn and made it very difficult by answering questions in a misleading manner.*I only recommend services that are upfront and honest in their prices and this was NOT the case. My overall price by the end of my transaction was twice what my reserved price was.
Very confused and disorganized person getting my rental ready. Went through 3 cars until we found one that worked. However it didnt work great as the key fob was very weak. Then a week after returning and no indication of an issued from the return person I receive a bill for 250 to clean the car for sand. Yes, there was sand on the floor matts due to being in the desert, but I have rented from many companies incuding Budget and never been charged a cleaning fee. This was not any dirtier than I have returned in the past (in fact I have returned cars in the winter with salt stains from walking in the snow and not a word was mentioned). It was sand and a quick vacuum would take care of it, especially considering I already paid over $100 per day for the rental for 12 days. They have reduced the fee, but still 250 is very excessive to vacuum out a car. Be warned of back end fees and I guess get your rental detailed before you return it.
We arrived at 11.55 pm to the place that the shuttle suppose to take us to the rent a car. After one hour waiting, we take a car to get there. 15 minutes later, busses start to arrive. Once there, people friendly. The only thing I didnt like is that gas extra charge. I took my car full of gas (17.1 out of 17.8 gallons). When I returned the car, there was 17.1 and they charge me 0.7 gallons X9,99USD because it was not full. It was just the same!!!
The gentleman at the front desk seemed annoyed and agitated that I didnt know my deductible on my car insurance. He first asked if I got full coverage or liability. I asked if it was regarding the rental and that I decline coverage through Budget for additional fee because my car insurance covers any damage. He then asked me what is my deductible and he was extremely rude with the fact that I didnt know what my damage deductible is right off the top of my head. He then proceeds to tell me that its something I should know right away and asked how come I dont know it. I told him because its something that I get a quote for, pay for my monthly premium, and dont think about it because Ive never had to make a claim.I finally receive the parking stall my rental is at and get to it. Upon startup of the vehicle I notice that there is a warning light that is on. Also I notice that there is a huge streak of scratch marks on the windshield caused my the windshield wiper because the blades are so bad that metal parts were exposed where you install the wipers and caused permanent scratch marks due to its usage.I go back inside and bring up the issue, to which I am given a different vehicle. This vehicle looked fine and starts up great with no warning lights but it smelled like cigarettes.I return the vehicle after my rental period (Wednesday - Saturday) and received my e-receipt. Upon inspection I find that I was charged $27/day for driver under 25 fee that was added on the day of my pick up. Um, what? Im 36 years old traveling with my 13 year old daughter. The gentleman even took my I.D. to, what I assume, verify my name and age for my rental reservation. So after pre-paying for the initial online quote over a month ago Im being charged extra.I will definitely not use Budget ever again.
Long wait for airport bus to Budget car rentals. Check your gas level before you leave and walk around the car for review of any damages. I usually do, but the flight arrived late and I didnt do it. I called Budget the next morning and they were very pleasant, recorded the issues and no problem encountered. Recommend.
Extremely busy, long waits to check in and pickup vehicle. The vehicle I was given cut off shortly after I left the lot so I had to be swapped into another vehicle. The lady manager that works there (wish I could remember her name) is so hardworking and accommodating she comp’d my gas and gave me a free upgrade for the inconvenience. Solid place to rent a standard vehicle while visiting LA. Def appreciate the shuttle bus to and from the airport as well!
The Kia car I got was great, as was the price I got through Priceline. But plan for it to take a LONG time to get your car. With 7 terminals at LAX that the shuttle stops at and the long time it takes to check out the car, it took way too long to get from the airport to driving away with a car. But it least they had plenty of staff at their counter (12, I think). But their computer system / process probably takes 15 min per rental. Ugh. Checking the car back in is quick and the shuttle runs very frequently.
Horrible experience! I travel at least 6 times a year & typically rent vehicles 5 of those times. This time was no different: rental reservation, shuttle bus to rental, credit card & license, insurance options, return & close out rental! This particular rental at THIS location was not only the worst Ive experienced but the back office was even more non existing than the front desk customer service support. How did a pre chosen car rental go to a $250 upgrade that wasnt requested nor mentioned by the front desk person checking us out? We was charged for a vehicle we drive daily back home! We never asked for anything fancy! I booked the vehicle class we desired @ a rate we felt comfortable with. Also, how does one incur a charge for fuel WITH proof of fuel (time stamped receipt) AND the location of gas station to ensure it was indeed accurate & true. The back office 1st assured the proper adjustments will be made. Only to find weeks later there was still a $366 charge that was never adjusted. After calling & being transferred 3 times, I was told the charges were signed off on the rental agreement upon picking the vehicle up and that a COURTESY partial adjustment can be made! I dont understand how a rental I booked at a fee I agreed on could be disregarded all bc a front desk rep who gave us a vehicle/color choice went the extra mile to give us a vehicle that didnt fall in the class we booked for AND stick us with the bill. Budget should definitely look into this location and ensure no other complaints have risen from this type of sales practice! Extremely unethical & bad for business!Update: After reading thru recent reviews..This location is definitely one that pads & increases your rental bill without your verbal consent. Then they throw it in the rental contract knowing youll quickly sign to get on your way after waiting 1hr + in line! WOW! Then I read that calling the customer service support about your final bill is also a dead end! What a shady staff Budget condones!
Long wait for the courtesy bus at LAX airport. Long line of people waiting outside the building hoping to see an agent. Noisy office and radio music on top of that - I could hardly understand the lady. But she seemed to be friendly (how can somebody work here?) Just sign and get out of here. My car was not new (50.000mi), but in good shape.Rental car return was easy. I got my receipt via eMail.Crowded courtesy bus back to LAX airport.Price matters.
1. Reserved a sedan, but once arrived was told there are no sedans available.2. Spent 2 hours getting a car.3. The final car was not filled, but the documents in email claimed full gas tank and odometer higher (!) than it was in the carThe only bright side is an employee that took the car at the end of the day and removed gas charges.
I booked the car through Costco and was given a quote. At the counter, the guy didnt take my initial decision for me to fill up the car myself, convincing that the prepaid gas price is much better than the rates out on the streets (he was lying through his teeth, as I soon found out when I hit the streets). Then he said that the compact car that I had reserved was no longer available, so I would have to pay for a larger tank of gas. How much gas does it take to fill up a Kia Optima? I was charged over $110 for the prepaid gas. Then he said that they dont honor any customers auto insurance, and I had to pay for Budgets coverage in addition to the base rate. There was also an additional $9 per day cstomer charge? All in all, I ended up paying over $150 per day for the privilege of driving a basic car. I felt pretty gouged, and this rental was far above my budget. Budget Rental, indeed!
Extremely long wait time (> 60 mins). People were getting double booked of the same car, and nobody was helping them fix it (after they had waiting more than an hour). The manager and the person letting people inside to line-up werent in communication about expectations. The door person was cramming people inside, while the manager decided there were too many people and pushed us backwards out. Complete and utter chaos. The car we got was damaged in such a way that the passenger door wouldnt open correctly. The inside of the car wasnt particularly clean. The only good thing was the man who helped at the counter - he was fast and nice.
Worst experience of my life. I have rented 100s of cars earlier, but never experience this kind of customer service. I was given a car which was double booked. The other person took the car. I had to come back to book another call and not a single customer service representative was talking to me in a right way. Everyone ignored me and when I spoke to the manager, he said “it is what it is, wait for 30 mins or you are good to go”.
Worst rental car experience ever. I prepaid for a two day rental and they still ended up charging my card for $327.00.AVOID BEING FOOLED ABOUT GAS PRICES. The staff is trained to lie to you about the current gas prices in the market so they charge you a full tank of gas upfront at prices $1-$2 over market rate.THEY DO NOT ACCEPT YOUR CAR INSURANCE. They force you to pay for extra insurances on the car that you do not need. They keep you waiting for several minutes before they bring out the car you rented and waste time trying to get you to rent a more expensive car.I will never use this company again.
Worst car rental experience ever! Stay away! When we arrived LAX, the pickup shuttle was later than other rental car places. We were in a hurry, so we took the first car they gave us. The car had scratches all over. We had trouble to open the trunk. The side mirror was so dirty, we had to clean it ourselves. We gave them a three star on their survey when we returned the car. it wasnt a great experience but we tolerated. Anyway, two weeks after the trip, we received a letter from them charging us $125 for Excessive Interior Dirt - Sand, when we checked the credit card, they are still holding the deposit. I travelled many places and used different rental companies, this is by far the worst. STAY AWAY. I will formally file a complaint at BBB as well as my state attorney general.
Avoid this location at all cost. They are scamming people here. I prepaid for a midsize SUV and the agent told me I have a small sedan and I can upgrade to a bigger car for $30/day. I had to insist her to stop lying. She also lied that it’s mandatory that I buy insurance from Budget and it’s California law (that my Progressive car insurance doesn’t apply) - when I saw through this lie and asked about details she told me it’ll Budget policy. I didn’t have time so I had to agree to buy liability. When I had to sign the rental agreement I saw she added collision and liability. I had to ask her to remove it. She had no remorse. Completely dishonest business practices. This is the last time I’m renting from Budget.
I was supposed to rent a car for 4 days. The car broke down on me in a dangerous neighborhood on the first day while I had a sick passenger. I spent the next 3 days in the airport trying to get a new rental since I took out insurance on the car with Budget, however the tow company sent by road side assistance did not pick up the car in time and the car was impounded. I was told the car can not get out of the impound for 7 to 10 days. I had to get a car from a different rental company as a result. Even though the car broke down on me on the first day and I took out insurance I was still charged for the full amount of the rental. This was the worst experience and vacation ever.
When I arrived to pick up a rental car, I saw loss damage waiver was selected by default. I asked if that was mandatory. The staff A***** dodged the question and said this is the best for you. Luckily I checked my companys policy before I headed out and discovered a requirement to decline all insurances. I came back immediately to correct that. Could have lost $100+ more to Budget!
My first time writing a review for any service I have received. I hired a car from Budget Los Angeles for a 2 week trip around California upon returning the vehicle everything was fine. I received an email 2 WEEKS LATER explaining I am being charged $450usd because the car smelled of smoke. Myself or my partner do not smoke, it’s a complete rip off and is down right theft. I DO NOT RECOMMEND BUDGET LOS ANGELES AT ALL, it is like dealing with a car rental place in a 3rd world country. I feel completely frauded, ripped off, scammed and completely have no trust in this place.
The rental itself was great 10 out of 10 quality. Making the reservation through DTS was also 10 out of 10.Receiving my receipt was 1 out of 10. To start with you no longer even offer for printed receipts upon turn in which is frustrating because when It comes time to do my work trip voucher I am stuck waiting on this e-receipt that may or may not take 72hrs. Then after the 72hrs I found out there is no record of you returning your rental to which the customer support line (9 out of 10) assisted with inputting a trouble ticket with proof of my turn in and then I had to wait for another 72hrs or maybe receiving the e-receipt. What is even more frustrating is that when they asked for proof of turn-in I had nothing other than a boarding pass because you wont give any paper receipts. I get that in todays society people want everything digital, but there are times when you want something you can physical hold on to for peace of mind. I recommend if a customer specifically goes out of their way and asks for a paper receipt you allow them that option.
Returned from a 2-week trip to Florida where our experiences with Budget ranged from mediocre to dismal, it was a pleasant turn of events for us getting back to California and having another rental from Budget. This time the car was made necessary by the vicissitudes of flight bookings landing us at LAX while our vehicle was in Orange County. In any case, this rental experience was so smooth it was TOO smooth. This time I told the shuttle driver we were fastbreak members. This meant she dropped us at the fastbreak location. The way that works when it works is they drop you at your car or near a lot where you can just pick out your own car. Absolutely zero problems. We picked a car, loaded our bags, the lady at the gate checked my license and off we went. Could not have taken more than 10-15 minutes tops, shuttle ride to us being on the road. Car was fine, zero problems. We did have a bit of a snag when we returned the car because there was apparently some button not pushed properly at LAX but the people at SNA (Orange County) got it sorted quickly. So this was a good experience, Budget, and I recommend that you find someone like the person running your LAX operation to take over that circus you have running in Jacksonville, FL.
Frustrating experience as a long time customer- I made a reservation at an off airport location because the price was better, when I arrived at pick up the van I reserved was not there. I was told to go to the airport location where I could pick up and then at return I could take it to the offsite location and the original reservation price would be honored- sounds great, it did not happen and I was charged the higher rate. I spent my time and was aggravated and paid more- what was the point of making a reservation if the vehicleYou need is not available
If you guys are traveling with pets in the rental, be aware. Budget sent me a letter after 2wks stating that they were charging $125 extra for ANIMAL HAIR in the car. They sent me the pictures of them. It was not much in the picture and most of them was on floor mat. Their explanation was it took longer for the staff to clean the car. Wow, really?
Rented a car for less than 24 hours to attend a wedding. The car smelled of cigarette smoke but I dealt with it because I was helping with the wedding and didnt have time to complain about it. I should have though, because now they are trying to charge me $450 cleaning fee because they were to incompetent to notice the smell when the person before me returned it.Also as others have noted youll watch 4 other shuttles for competing companies drive past while you wait for theirs.
When I picked up my vehicle the representative was extremely rude, tried tricking me into adding many optionals services by acting/implying the services were required. She tried hurrying me through the agreement process and became irritated when I took a few seconds to look through the charges and began questioning them. For example, supplemental insurance, pre paid duel, and toll tags were all added. I found the representative to be quite combative when I questioned the additions then even more so when I told her Id be declining these options. Ill be renting elsewhere as a result of my experience.
In general, the car received is OK and the return process is very fast. However, there are two problems:1. The line is very long when I was picking up the car at noon. The waiting time is over 20 mins.2. I was trying to rent a convertible, but I did not know the name convertible wrangler at that time. One of the staff asked me if I wanted a wrangler or something else (which I didnt hear clearly, but I assume it is convertible sedan afterwards). As a result, the staff highly recommended wrangler, which I didnt know it was a jeep. By the time I saw the car, I realized that it was not the one that I wanted. Luckily, someone just returned a convertible sedan and I was able to change it. I understand it was partly my fault that I didnt know what a wrangler is, but still the staff there didnt explain clearly to me and kind of made the choice for me (I guess that guy likes wrangler much more than sedan). In addition, I didnt see that there are two kinds of convertible on their website when I made the reservation either. Thats why I assume there is just one kind of convertible: the convertible sedan.
Yes. This place isnt rated poorly for no reason. Theres massive lines, hugely time consuming upselling, no good place to wait, delays in getting receipts so you cant reconcile charges properly, and also they gave a car that smelled like cigarettes.I would avoid doing business with them again and go to another service.Also. People should complain to the California State government about the car rental insurance situation. In most places the rental charge should be priced to include basic legally required insurance.
Look elsewhere. Go there if you have 2 hours to spare between long lines and poor staff. Many people including myself waited in line for over an hour, only to either receive a car that was not there, a car that someone else was already inside (same lot number and license plate) or unacceptably dirty or scratched cars. Oh, and to ask for an exchange or to have them fix their own mistake (a min after you get your slip) means waiting another 20 to 30 minutes. Absolutely terrible experience and not worth any penny saved. Costco should not be working with such an agency.
They put a $400 hold on my account and that never happened before. I’ve been using budget for over 6 years. I will not use them again. Also the car they gave me AC didn’t work. When I contacted them to change the car nobody would pick up and then when they finally picked up the automatic call center just kept telling me to go change the cars at any location which didn’t seem right. I was confused and irritated especially because it was over 90 degrees and I didn’t have AC.
The price was good and the car we received was nice. However when we got there, we had to wait in line for 45 min before we got to the counter. It was kinda annoying since we had already been traveling for so long and were tired. Staff was friendly and helpful, except for do off. They dont pay much attention to you and we werent sure what we were supposed to do.
Terrible experience. Was given at first an unwashed car, then after going back to the counter, I was finally able to obtain a washed car.I had a pre-paid package and, despite have ultra-refilled the gas tank, I was charged for some mysterious extra service that no one requested and I certainly did not agree to. Last time of my life renting with Budget.
DO NOT RENT FROM BUDGET. If I could give them zero stars, I would. Disregard the low prices they advertise, they tack on so many ridiculous fees you end up paying more than double the advertised rate per day. And forget about calling customer service- the woman I spoke to was so rude, completely contradicted everything that I was told at the rental counter, and proceeded to hang up on me. Not only will I not rent from Budget again, I wouldn’t even recommend them to somebody that I loathed.
Awful, charges are not clearly explained, insurance seems required when it’s optional. My prepaid rental of 100$ for a less than 24 hour rental was charged at 186 and I filled my own tank and had no extras of a Nissan Altima. Be prepared to ask them to explain every charge or you willPay double what you expected .
Our booking was made with my sister in laws license which according to the state of California was not eligible for renting a car, this should be made clear by Budget rentals in the first place, rather than telling it last moment. The booking was for a minivan which was unavailable and you offered a SUV which was not feasible for me so had to wait more time for that with having a party of 11 people waiting outside in heat including my uncle and aunt aging 60+.Finally I got the Toyota Sienna which was too old and not fun driving for a week while driving 1000+ miles. The whole group was too frustrated on Budget rentals I cant express in words. On top of everything, you guys charged me for fuel which was 120+ taxes which I explicitly told your agent not to, which she said she will revert back the charges. On top I tried calling Budget couple of times but I never got a call back!!!!!!
Terrible... first problem is half the employees dont know what is going on with renting cars was told 5 different things before we got somebody who know what they were talking about, second problem is i pre-paid for my rental online and they require a $250 deposit when you pick up the car...i tried to give them 2 different credit cards wich both declined, the proceeded to push that this was my fault the cards were declined and told me to call my bank....it was 10pm at night both banks were closed...come to find out all the customers in the office were having the same problem and it was a company problem the cards were declining (never given an apology from the rude manager.). third problem is the car they gave us was disgusting...soda spilled on the seats and not cleaned (sticky mess). garbage in the car the obviously had not been cleaned or vacuumed. we took the car anyways because by this time we had been at the rental lot for 3+ hours and just wanted to get to our hotel room ( 3 tired kids). I will never rent another car from this location or Budget again. Terrible customer service and employees.
Easy and understandable, I wasn’t looking forward to the rental car experience, I was prepared for long lines, misunderstandings and frustration. What I got was clear instructions, reasonable line, with very clear instructions, clear signs pointing in the right directions, and easy pick up and drop off. The young lady who returned me to the Airport was excellent and clear. Great and thanks
Waited for twenty five minutes for shuttle to arrive. They only had two operating, while the other services had fleets passing by.When I finally arrived by crammed shuttle to the franchise location, I was greeted by a customer line circling around the building.Rent with anyone else. I’m gonna be here all night.
One of the worst Budget location. We landed in LA midnight with family, there was no shuttle service available, waited for more than an hour , National shuttle driver saw our status and took the initiative to drop us at Budget. When we called the customer phone they were very rude with no assistance. There were many more customers who had the same complaint but Budget did not care. The car we had booked was not ready as it was under wash, had to wait another hour. I did not have the option of giving zero stars hence the one star. Please avoid Budget , the service by other providers better, that is reason I saw many people boarding other rent a car shuttles.
The LAX rental pickup service was great. no issue. Overall the experience was good. However, there were so many cars in the rental office parking, very crowded, it was hard to get the car out of the parking lot, you will have to be really careful not to hit the cars parked everywhere.
I rented a Standard SUV through Costco for $528.99. At check out the clerk asked about insurance. I said no. She asked if I want the gas option because their gas price is so much less than outside. I say ok. She says check accept 3 times on the tiny, barely readable screen. She hands me a empty, paper jacket and tells me where the car is.Days later we return the car. The attendant says we will get an email with the charges. Maybe 12 hours later I look and my email says I owe $972.38.My complaint is how they rush you through the check out without any explanation of charges. The do not even give an estimate. Then when you return the car you have no idea what the charges are until later.I realize that most rental companies follow this process. Customers need to be aware.
I reserved a Dodge SUV from Booking.com. With a reservation from 3/26/2022-to 4/2/2022, we are told to pay $966.11. When we arrive at Budget at SFO, we were told that they did not have a Dodge for us. The car was changed to a Nissan Pathfinder with the same charge. Then we took this Nissan Pathfinder @SFO.We returned the car @ 7 pm 4/2/2022 @ LAX airport with a full tank of gas. The staff told us we are all set. A receipt will be sent within 24 hours (still not coming till today 4/24/2022). But they never sent me a receipt till I found a double charge with an amount of $1936 from my husbands credit card and requested for a receipt.I contacted the customer service on May 1st. They finally sent me an e- receipt with a wrong return date of April 5, 2022. On May 1st, Budget refunded me 639.72。 But they did not explain how this overcharge happened? On May 9, I found I was charged by Budget $125 without any notice. Horrible horrible experience.
The woman helping us was incredibly unpleasant and the ugliest way to start our vacation. Anytime we asked a question she seemed bothered and irritated that she had to do her job. If youre that miserable, find something that doesnt involve customer fronting. Not only was the customer service garbage but the car smelt like wet dog. Rent from literally anyone else.
Picked up a Full size SUV from budget. Turns out the tyre pressure was low, so I filled it up to the recommended level. The pressure dropped again so I filled it again and so on.Lond story short, took ne 25 minutes to get to customer service and another 70 minutes to get a replacement car (which was smaller than the original)Not Happy!
The pick up was terrible. There was a long line. Once I got to an agent, it took them like 30 minutes to find a car for me to rent. Once I did get a car, it had a service needed light on, so my husband went back in to ask for a different car. The employee was rude and it took another 20 minutes to find a car for us to rent, then 15 more to actually get the car. Overall, it took about 90 minutes or more to finally get a car. That is unacceptable. I dont ever want to rent from Budget again.
I booked through Costco which includes one additional driver. Budget refused to add the additional driver without a fee. They explained that Costco doesn’t make their rules for them. I also used my Costco citi card which includes worldwide rental car insurance. Budget charged me mandatory insurance. I asked them three times to remove the insurance charge and was constantly told that’s it’s required in the state of California. On top of that, the car I received was dirty and smelled like cigarettes.
We had read several negative reviews, but thought it would be OK. We returned a car on March 4th and now more than 2 weeks later they charged me a $450 cleaning fee without so much as sending me an email to explain the charges. I called to ask what the charge was and they said it was excessively dirty, so that was how much it cost to clean it. Ill admit, the car wasnt super clean, but nothing a quick vacuum wouldnt fix. We wont be using budget again.
Customer service was less than stellar even though a fast track member got charged for an additional driver when asked why was told well it didnt register your membership on the reservation. No attempt to assist or remediate the issue just called the next person in line over to get them their rental
Absolute criminals. Took $90 out of my bank account on the day the vehicle was returned for insurance that I specifically said no too. I then spent half an hour on hold to get a refund. Then 2 weeks later I was charged $125 dollars that was non refundable for some sand that was apparently in the footwells of the vehicle (we vacuumed the vehicle before returning). How a company can operate in this manor in 2022 is completely beyond me
This was possible the dirtiest vehicle I have ever rented. We had previously rented from Alamo at Logan in Boston for a week in New England and we were given a clean, low mileage car and provided with disinfectant wipes to clean the car. When we landed at LAX, the Budget car we were given had a dirty windshield, smeared rear view mirror and the back seat on the drivers side was filthy. I have pictures to support my claims. I dont recommend renting from Budget at LAX; I know I wont do so next time.
The Budget employee was not nice, and she was meant to me. They took so long to get the paper work done for 1 person. The whole waiting and process was 1 hour and 30’. The rental car was clean, but service was bad. Why should I recommend Budget for family and friends?
If I could give this place no stars I would. First, shuttle takes forever to pick you up from airport while other rental companies offer around the clock service. Second, they tried to add on services without my consent and judging from other reviews this is a common practice at this location. Third, I left a souvenir gift in the back seat and after reporting it lost now they claim they are unable to locate it. Just terrible service all around, wouldnt recommend to my worst enemy! Ill be sure to go with enterprise next time
I am awaiting a $200 Deposit Return. I have reached out several times, left my TN# for a call back twice and they still have not returned my call. Guess on my next trip I will make other arrangements. It has been over a week and I was told at the desk no more than 3 business days. Disappointed!
If I could get 0 stars I would. After my rental I received my receipt which shows all these additional charges for liability insurance that I declined. I reserve my rental cars many times with budget and know not to get their insurance since I have my own. But the person who gave me my car was busy talking to someone else and apparently added some. I confirmed with her multiple times on the price I was paying and turned out flat out lied. With this experience I doubt I would book with budget again. Make sure to double check what your charges are and do NOT reply on their verbal confirmation.
FRAUD COMPANY! TAKE PICTURES OF YOUR DASH/GAS METER UPON RETURN!This is a terrible place.#1 They will show on the website that Standard SUV will give you Ford Edge type of a vehicle where 5 luggages can fit (38cu.ft. capacity). They will give you a Ford Bronco SPORT (29 cu.ft capacity), with less cargo space and then try to upsell a bigger vehicle.#2 They lie on gas prices. They push you to pre-pay for gas saying that their gas price is cheaper than the gas station, but it is an absolute lie. The gas station by the airport is still cheaper by a dollar per gallon.#3 I filled up a gas tank to the top, drove 5 miles from the gas station to the rental return and 2 days later, they sent a bill stating the car had 6.4 gallons missing! The car consumed almost half a tank in 5 miles?!Take pictures!Next trip:We booked a vehicle, came in on time and was told that there is no vehicle available. Ok, I expect an upgrade then. Nope. You either PAY for an upgrade or wait 4 hours until they prepare you vehicle, regardless of the fact that you put in an exact pickup time. Both bookings were done, because it is through my company. I will do my best to remove Budget from the car rental suppliers for all the fraud they do.
Charged me their stupid useless insurance although I said NO. Plus, they gave me the car at 11 pm at LAX airport. I was super tired and did not notice that the glass was already broken. They charged me for that too. Stupid budget. I will never rent a car from you again.
SCAM ALERT!!!During my car return I had to hunt down someone to receive my car. When I finally did, he scanned my car, them just said it was already returned, and some cars are automatically checked in upon arrival on the lot. Ok. Not a big deal.Asked for my receipt, and was told itd be emailed to me. Ok...Upon inspection of my receipt I see a $100 charge for fuel service... The car was full, and none ever even checked the file gauge that I saw... When I called to complain they tried to claim it was their policy to request a fuel receipt? Yeah, noone ever even spoke with me until I hunted them down during return, and they didnt ask for anything... The customer service reversed the fuel charge as a courtesy. I made sure to let her know it is not a courtesy to reverse your scam when you are caught...Dont fall for the fuel service scam.Rent from somewhere else.
Thought I would try Budget at LAX as an alternative to the increasingly terrible Hertz. Checked in ahead of time and arrived to find a scene unlike anything Ive experienced in 30 years of frequent travel. Line out the door and around the building. Must have been 200+ people, plus dozens more milling around in front of the building. It looked like a refugee camp. I immediately canceled the booking on line and left. Feel sorry for the people who didnt have that option.
If there is less than 1 star, budget car rental deserves it. From a very long customer line for picking up the car, they will try to add ons a lot of charges which made my car payment on reservation 230 dollars to 403 dollars even on never opting on add ons. These are taxes and all they unnecessary add ons. On my final bill, it was almost 600 dollars was billed to me for some reasons I don’t know why. So please, for a no head ache vacation, pls never ever try to rent a car here in budget!
My wife and I booked a reservation online and it said the truck would be $58 per day plus the insurance. When we got there the price came to $1500.00. The chinese lady that helped us that works in coustomor service was very rude and had a nasty attitude. Well tried to explain to her that we booked the truck online and asking her why the price was to much and thats when she proceeded to get nasty with us and telling us that we still had to pay the $1500.00 even though the price was only $58. When it was time to return the truck the same lady was their and i asked for my paper receipt and she did not give it to me. I ended up going to another person and got my receipt. Not to mention when we got the Keys to the truck it was absoluely dirty muddy and nothing but sand inside the truck.Never again!!!

2022-06-22This place could be a 4 star business but the constant rude up-sale just burned me good after throwing my spouse out for coming to the counter with me. Apparently they only allow one person at the counter for covid reasons.Car was clean with minor scratches. Tank was full of gas and we got a timely pickup from the airport although the other rental car places had visibly more shuttles running.Customer service = 1 starRental Experience = 4 starCost = 4 starWait time = 3 starI will not return nor recommend.

2022-03-17Excellent car rental for a day exploring LA, clean and comfortable car! I think one of the highlights of our 24 hours in LA was actually returning the car and getting to talk to one of the Budget employee’s, Charlie. Charlie was kind, compassionate, and incredibly intelligent- we could have spent the entire day with him! Charlie’s excellent display of professionalism and personalism made our experience wonderful, I wouldn’t be surprised if the next time we visit he is running the place! The world needs more people like Charlie, and Budget LAX sure is lucky to have him!

2022-05-24I don’t think I have seen customer service worse than this in the US, rivaled only by Ticketmaster.I deeply believe that it’s ok for companies to make mistakes, it’s how they handle them that makes the biggest impression on the customer, and Budget did not impress, unfortunately.Short story. Left a document in the car that I returned. Getting in touch with ANYBODY at the location seems impossible. They keep routing you through corporate/call centers/etc.After filing the report, going through hours of automated systems, leaving countless voicemails and receiving “nothing found” emails (I know exactly where the document is in the car), I’m about to give up on my birth certificate.Car itself drove ok, albeit needed an oil change and made a couple of sounds. Booked through Amazon benefits, price online was literally 50% less than at the counter (I came with no reservation and reserved while in line to the counter). Will definitely avoid Budget in the future, especially because the price wasn’t especially competitive, I just decided to rent a car, and hopped on a bus to a rental car agency, and budget happened to be the first bus I encountered from a company I’ve heard of.EDIT/Update:After receiving the bill, I was shocked to find out that Ive been charged $188 extra for loss damage waiver and liability insurance that I explicitly denied in my reservation. The employee at the counter, when explaining this extra cost, claimed it to be a deposit that Ill get back if I return the car with a full tank, which I did. I was completely stunned and contacted customer service. Agent wasnt able to help me, so I had to go full Karen and ask for his manager, who actually was helpful and receptive to feedback, reversed the charges (albeit after initially offering a 50% refund which I’ve refused), listed to my experience and said that they will do better to improve. I hope they will. Competition is always good for customers.

2022-01-27The car was really new and had great features (got a 2021 Honda Civic). The only reason I’m giving 4 stars and not five is that it took a long time to get a shuttle from the airport (roughly 25 minutes) and even longer when we got the rental office because of the line (roughly 1 hour). Despite these inconveniences, the car, the drop off, and most other aspects of the rental were great.

2022-02-10Today I got $450 charge for my cleaning fee. Do not be so kind with this location LAX Budget. They going to come back and bite you at the end.So the service was great. Used fastbreak program and got the car with in 5 minutes for us from being there.

2021-12-08The cost was reasonable, however beware do not anticipate a clean car despite living during a pandemic. I went to walmart and bought some bleach wipes to disinfect the car and took a picture of how dirty the car was. On top of the car being dirty, everyday I drove the car a new warning presented in the dashboard. It started with the tires needing air (which I had to do) to the check engine lights. It seems they reset the system so that when you drive off you dont notice anything. Either way, I am just grateful it took me to my destinations despite being concern the entire trip.

2022-02-16Hopefully, I will never have to rent from Budget again! My past two experiences have been awful and expensive. I reserve through Costco, then when I arrive to pick up, Im told the vehicle isnt available. They try to peddle unneeded insurance and upgrades. The vehicle I recieved was dirty, behind on maintenance, and the drivers seat was broken. Please use caution when dealing with this company as they are chasing dollars and could care less about the customer experience.

2022-05-29We rented from Budget as coming back customers as we had pretty good experience with Budget at San Diego airport last Dec. However, the one we had at Lax was one of the worst rental experiences we ever had and we would never come back again to rent from Budget. 1. It took over 30 min to get picked up from airport while we saw 20 other rental car company’s shuttles passed by. 2. It took another 1.5 hours to get our car and I didn’t even want to mention only one person was allowed to enter but our driver and the person who reserved the car were not the same person so created a lot extra amount of work to redo everything. The front desk agent kept trying to trick us to buy insurance/coverage we don’t need. Also this lady also didn’t honor the free upgrade which I got the confirmation to get from front desk when I pick my car when I reserved my car. 3. There was nobody helping to install the car seat which we got someone to help at San Diego airport. 4. Worst of all, the car seat we got didn’t get properly sanitized and had a strong smell of urine. Apparently the previously party had kid peed on the car seat but Budget didn’t clean it up and rented to us. Disgusting! Especially it’s so hot in the car and the smell became stronger and stronger. Not only my kid but the entire family had to suffer from this strong smell throughout the 5 days period. Asking me why we didn’t call? You got to wait on the call for another hour to get someone actually helped you and we don’t want to spend another 2 hours to switch for another car or car seat. The only good thing is the shuttle driver (an African American lady) who was pretty helpful.Budget, if you keep doing business like this, you will lose your customers to your competitors. Such an upsetting experience.

2021-08-09Do not rent here. I had horrible horrible horrible experience with them. They are crooked. It started with1. Me waiting at the LAX airport for more than an hour for the shuttle while watching shuttles from other rentals went by every 5/10 minutes.2. Then the person at the counter tried so hard to sell the unlimited toll service (which is very expensive) and did not inform me about the cheaper options. She lied about Los Angeles having so many toll roads that it would be very difficult to go places without using them.3. Then I get a car with expired tag. Glad that I was taking pictures of the car before driving out and noticed it.4. I again went inside and meet a different person. She did not even bother to appolize and lied again. She said the tag was current and the person rented before must had taken the new tag off the license plate.5. I then got a different car which had a musty small like hell. It was already more than 4 hours since I landed at LAX and my schedule was already messed up. Also it was a long weekend to find a car from another rental. So, I had to take the car. Because they wont give another one.6. I returned the car after 5 days. The person receiving it said everything looks fine and no problem with the car.7. However, few weeks after returning the car I see on my credit card account 2 new charges each $250 from budget without my authorization. I am currently working with my bank on those chages. So please think twice before renting from them.

2022-01-03First of all, I received a car with a near-full tank (see picture). I was in a hurry and did not mind. I topped up the rental car and returned with full tank. Later on, I received an email that they charged me extra $21 for 1.9 gallon gas. This is totally unacceptable. Customers watch out, this place is full of scam.
