Not very friendly service. No hello or anything when you walk in. The gentleman only acknowledges you when he gets to you and the lady just stands in the front next to him saying nothing and on the computer. Really need to take a customer service 101 or at least say hi we will be with you.
I have rented cars here many times. The staff has always been polite and friendly. Ive been pleased with the quality of the cars they have assigned to me. I get the best price in town at Budget, so Im very happy with service and price. I usually come from LAX to Bakersfield one way and rent the car rather than ride a bus. Then I do a one way back to LAX when I leave. A very nice ride.
I usually dont wright reviews but dont bother with this location or company waist of time. If I could give no stars I would have. I expected more from a chain company the office on Wible is dirty and the customer service is dreadful I asked if he could check any of there other locations and he turned around and told me to call. Made a reservation went to location to pay just to be informed that there are no available trucks...very disappointed.
I just had to return the car from LAX very early to take my son to school, the young lady staff was there early opened the doors early and helped me out quickly. They open at 730am. Very efficient and I appreciate it. This Budget car rental place has good priced rental cars. I went through Costco travel for the best prices.highly recommended. At LAX they were very fast. They have shuttle and alot of staff to make it quick to get your car and you out FAST🤩
Customer service was excellent. Covid precautions made it uncomfortable. Its just too hot to wait outside!! After watching a customer hunt for gold in her nostrils for 10 minutes I was thankful the manager wiped down all the chairs, doorknobs, counters and pens with clorox wipes😀
The lady working behind the counter raised her voice and told me to mind my business and stay out of it as I tried to assist someone with an insurance question. As an insurance agent, I do that, it IS my business.I own agency and budget has been who I reccomend to my clients for rentals during a claim; and that ends today. I am back to referring them to enterprise.on top of that, no vehicles were available that we had reserved and were told wed have to wait. thats unacceptable. if you dont have cars available, DONT TAKE THE RESERVATION! Its simple. Now that you have thrown off our plans due to poor planning; if any, we have to find a plan B.I am again disappointed and disgusted at the way this organization runs. Im also mad at myself for giving you another chance.
Did a rental thru Costco travel came to the location and they were very limited on vehicles so I did a upgrade of a additional 9 dollars a day which I agreed on I got the insurance also which they said would be the same no extra charge cuz I got a SUV well I come back return it and they end up charging me the full price of 35 dollars a day for insurance I come back and tell them the situation and there is nothing they can be done cuz I didn’t double check the receipts cuz what he told me and what they did were total opposites so I will never come back they are shady people there that only want money they take insurance but vehicles DONT get fixed really sad cuz been going thru budget for a while and I even called corporate and nothing could be done so how fully no one else has this problem...
Gave me a car with alignment problems then I had to take it to another budget to switch it out and was told I needed to pay for their gas for driving it from one budget to the other to return it. Was lectured and said if its not on full they can penalise me. I told the lady at the airport budget that I am not putting any gas in it because I didnt use it except to drive to return it. She told me that I need to tell the other budget and that its not her problem. Then I asked her if she is corporate and she said yes and changed her attitude fast. It doesnt matter which budget did it they are corporate chain and should just apologise and fix the problem without harassing their customer. She was so rude. Mind you I lost 2 hours of my day dealing with their messed up car just to get what I paid for. Oh and I had to park at the end of the lot in a designated spot walked in with baby stroller and car seat then she tells me that I have to go get milage and says I have to do it or she cant go any farther. Doesnt offer to watch my stuff so I have to lug it all the way to the back of the parking lot and back for her milage for a car I didnt even get to use. If I worked there I would of said oh no problem let me run and get that for you or here you can sit your stuff here I will keep an eye on it but nope nothing. Just rude old lady.
If I could give this location a zero I would! Had reserved a 12 truck almost a week before we needed it. Drove all the way from San Diego to there getting there 30 minutes before reservation time and they did not have a truck for us. All we got was sorry our trucks did not come in. When I told them they should have call people who had reservations they said they couldnt as they cant see reservations. What a flawed system!!! There we were stuck on Sunday with NO truck and needed to do our business and turn around to San Diego! Never will attempt to use Budget again as it cost us another $75 to rent from another company to complete our moving job!
So far the this little hard to find business was slow,unprofessional,and very dirty inside.There was no hospitality in anyway.Also this company will tell let u book a reservation and accept the payment for the deposit,but ion person the rules are different ,I argued the fine print they provided.And took my business elsewhere.
Horrible, reserved a standard car 2 weeks ahead of time, got there and all they had was an intermediate(Jetta) with flaws in the paint, stains on the interior, etc. Was still charged for a standard size. Receipt said $228 after all was said and done. Was charged $270. Called to fix and was told they had messed up and would refund me $104. Now here we are a week later and nothing has been refunded, when I call to check they tell me a supervisor will speak to me in 24-48 hours, yet never call. Criminal is the best word I have for this company. Contacting BBB later on today.

2021-02-22Was able to rent a car without a major credit card. They just ran a credit check and were able to use my debit card. Thankful for options like this. The rental car was very clean and ran great. The only reason I didnt give it five stars was the return office was a bit strange. Front door shut instead of open for air exchange as well as visual cues to move forward in line.

2021-07-07Horrible!!! Be aware!!! They turned a two hundred dollars deposit into a two hundred sixty-five dollars additional one day rental fee after stating I should have my two hundred dollars deposit back on my credit card in two to four days. I have a complaint out with the Better Business bureau.

2017-03-16Horrible horrible customer service! Didnt even have our reserved standard car. Had to arrange a new rental on our own through meadows field airport and ended up having to wait a while for an available rental there. The employee at this Wible rd location acted like it was our problem they didnt have the car we reserved. Dont go for the lower prices! Its not worth the hassle!!!

2021-06-09Have rented with budget several times without hiccups now they decide to run my credit and cancel my prepaid rental for a week which I have done many times they have lost a good customer will never rent from you again will go with enterprise from now on they didnt give me any issues your guys policy is screwing you out of good customers that pay in advance And Im rich you shouldnt have done that

2017-06-19This is the worst business in Bakersfield. Horrible customer service. After making a reservation, I called for a deposit price and was told $150, after waiting in line for 30 mins, the most unprofessional person just asked me for my card. I verified that it was $150 and was told no its $250. I asked for my card back and told her we would be going else where. The next morning I checked my bank account and found that the retards charged my card!!!! My bank was able to cancel the transaction. Please dont go here. The only word that comes to mind for this place is Ghetto!

2019-09-30THIS PLACE IS A SCAM! GO TO THE AIRPORT LOCATION THEY ARE AMAZING AND THERE ARE NO SUCH THING AS “EXTRA AIRPORT FEES” Here’s the story: I flew in from Seattle to LAX for about 3 weeks of work in Bakersfield. Rented a car for one day/one-way from Avis at LAX to Bakersfield after other travel plans fell through. I already had a budget rental reservation for the next day at Bakersfield airport to pick up the car I’d use for my 3 weeks in town. So, I go to return the Avis car, I’m surprised that it’s an Avis/Budget location...great! I return my Avis car and ask the lady behind the desk (heard her name was Dawn, but my receipt said Christina) if I can transfer the reservation from the airport and just pick up my budget rental at this location now. I tell her that it’s prepaid so I only want to do it if the cost is the same. She asks me how much I prepaid, I tell her $450. She tells me “oh that’s without the airport fees, you have to add $15/day to that, over 21 days so it’s really going to be $765. If you switch your reservation over I can put you in a car now for $650.” I asked her “so you mean to tell me that the airport is going to charge me $300 more than my prepaid amount for picking up at the airport?” She says yes, so I look up the airport location and call them, have them pull up the reservation and tell them what she told me. She immediately comes from behind the counter snapping at me “you can’t tell them I told you that, just tell them you want to transfer to this location, they don’t know about the fees!” At this point she is standing right in front of me trying to dictate my conversation with them. They guy at the airport location confirms that I’m prepaid, says they put a $100 deposit hold on the credit card, but that I won’t be charged anything in addition to what I’ve prepaid. I thank him and hang up. Then this woman says “the 1-800 number doesn’t know about the airport fees” so I said “I didn’t call the 1-800 number I called the airport location and spoke with the guy at the desk there”. She immediately caught an attitude and says “don’t be surprised when they charge you with the extra fees when you get there I tried to help you”. No, idiot, you tried to scam me. Stay far away from this place, the airport location told me they are privately owned and they ALWAYS try to pull these tricks on people.

2020-06-23They overcharged me. Refunded my money when I complained and then tried to charge it back onto my card again a few days later hoping I wouldn’t notice. Worst customer service I’ve ever felt with to begin with but I consider that act theft and have contacted the better business bureau. The national customer service line is useless. Waited 30 minutes on hold then another 30 to get a manager and still they try to back door me

2021-03-02The worst after 2 days of trying to rent a car we finally got one over priced. So when we returned it my husband who is disabled forgot his phone and wallet in the car. We turned right back to get it but they said it was left on the car and when he went to move it feel off the car. The isnt damaged from the fall. But my husbands money in the wallet was gone. CROOKS. THE ONLY REASON THEY GOT A STAR IS BECAUSE YOU HAVE TO IN ORDER TO POST ANYTHING. BAD BAD BAD SERVICE
