Took our 4 year old son here to go bowling for the 1st time (hes been asking & asking since hes played video bowling & loved it) we had a great time & tried really hard to throw the game so hed win (we had the bumpers up & even when we TRIED to miss on our turns the bumpers would bump the ball back & get us points, so when we left I said oh I forgot to look at the scoreboard Jason how many points did you get? He said 177 so I was like yeaaa how many did I get? He said 0 & I was like awwwww how many did Dad get? He said 1 so I said well i guess you won & well just have to start calling you the Dude (the big Labowski)The staff was super nice & helpful, it was very clean & though we didnt get a margurita our ally neighbors did & it looked amazing!!!! I would definitely recommend this place to anyone & we will definitely be back!!!!
The first time was great and they followed the covid guidelines giving people space from each other with dividers. This time we were on lane 34 and played 3 games. All 3 were innacurate and on the last one it kept resetting. Im not sure if the innacuracy has to do with the fact that we were under a blacklight either. You cant even see the lines to guide your ball with that on.We also got sandwiched next to a group of 4 people. We had a party of 3 so 7 people all in one tight area. I think itd be okay if we were family but it was just against some random people. They have dividers between every two lanes but theyre basically just decoration. They refunded us for one game so it was 71$ brought down to 52$.Im more than a little disappointed and probably wont be back for a while.
Wow how greedy are you guys when it comes to the arcade4_ 5 dollars a game are you serious . bowling is way overpriced charging per person full price kid or not is wrong .get rid of tv screens ,charge less and dont just give me a generic Im sorry for your experience reply .I feel its fake .give people what they want charge high for liquor and food thats what people expect not a fleecing for a small family !!!
Was told by an associate that bumper lanes are only for kids. Doesnt matter to me whether the associate was joking or not, it genuinely ruined my experience not being able to use bumpers. Would get my $20 back if I could. Also not a fan of this implication that they wont accommodate disabled adults. I plan on steering anyone and everyone away from this place at at costs.
The good ( the food is really tasty and gets served quickly. Wheelchair accessible.) The bad( when I visited most of there lanes had broken machines, gutter balls were getting scored as strike. every dollar is two swipes/tokens for the arcade, but all the arcade games are about four or more swipes/tokens so one play on a game is actually about 2 dollars and I think that pretty expensive, especially becase your most likely already spending at least a hundred $ for the lane, shoes and food)
Bolero bowling lanes in Chico is one of the most incompetent bowling establishments I’ve been to from Rocklin to Yuba City and Yuba’s Nu Generations is closing! Chico’s bowlero only keep lights on for bowling leagues and all other times are lights off “cosmic” even if it’s early daylight hours like on a weekday. TV plasmas over the pins are blinding w no vision of guide marks. Balls don’t get returned, machines malfunction often, monitors calculate wrong score, umnmanned bar and front desk often. Non greetful hosting. Some of the employees are nice just doing their job, however I conclude is just bad management organization. My inquires get responses that are: “you should come back when a lane is open or join a league.” When there’s clearly lit lanes open but can’t be used on the outside of league’s lanes-all other lanes that could be used are lights off in middle of daytime. I really get the sense the only demographic they care about is their local league ppl or the young adult weekender college ppl which is fine keeps their revenue going but def not open to strays, or anyone who would come to practice independently. I never complain about buisenesses and service but this is hands down one of worst services I’ve had and doesn’t compare at all to several bowling allies I e attended before and that’s coming from a veteran and long local valley resident. I planned to spend lots of money and time to improve a fun sport but I won’t be doing it at this place.
Would not come again. Would dissuade a friend.Cons:Glitchy software awards random points for unhit pins. Hardware is spotty. Pin reset takes long. Only three seats per lane (bowling lanes are for four people). Staff assign people in adjacent lanes despite half the lanes being open.Pros:Music, maybe? Early 2000s hits.
We had fun. We bowled 2 games, played a few games of pool, ate a pizza and a appetizer sampler platter and drank a pitcher of beer. The food was really good. The pool table was pretty beat up but level and fully functional. No complaints. That costs 77 dollars plus tip.
The wait was a little long, however this was about 7pm or so on a Saturday so league was still finishing up and there was a pretty decent crowd already. Food and drinks were good but the food can take a while. Bowling wise, it was a lot of fun we had 6 people split onto two lanes. Played a couple of games fairly quickly. Didnt have to deal with any delays due to computer or mechanical issues except for the ceiling fan that didnt work. Overall I had a pretty good time as did my group.
Ive been there twice and each time our alley was defective. Either by not returning the ball, setting the pins at the wrong time, or faulty score keeping. Both times they also seemed understaffed, so it would take some time to get technical help or just to order food. Non of which is the employees fault. They were polite and helpful. Place is kept well and is clean. Also they have some fun arcade stuff
Way to expensive for food and to bowl i remember when shoes cost a buck and the game was 2.50 now its 5 bucks for shoes and 5 per game plus the food for some nachos and a hot dog with fries a large and small drink it was 26 bucks thats just way out then the arcade was way over priced i mean if it was a family of four it would cost a hundred bucks to play one game never going again
The alley is in the best condition I can remember. They could really use a changing table in the rest room. I went with my family, including our 1 year old. Didnt have anywhere to change him. The staff was super helpful and let me use their break room, but thats not ideal for the staff or me. Bowling is a family sport, you would think they would be more family friendly.
At first I was very happy to see that our bowling alley in Chico had reopened and paperwork going to be able to resume their Sport and enjoyment. But soon my Zeal for the enjoyment that would be had by Me was gone. Bowling with my church group I found it very difficult for Bowl considering they had no lights on over the lanes so you could not see the arrows or dots and not be able to bowl like a real bowler does. Ive been a bowler for 50 years and its always fun to go to a midnight bowling experience but when you go bowling for practice and fun you still want to achieve the best you can and thats by being able to use the marks on the lanes to adjust your bowling. Second they have large screens over head of the pins I mean very large they cover three lanes each. Where theyre showing sporting events and movies so while youre bowling you have the big distraction in front of you. So bowling isnt Fun by itself anymore you have to have a drive-in theater in front of the lanes supposedly to enjoy what youre doing. I was thinking about joining the league there because they do actually keep the lights on the lanes for the Leagues but not for your Joe Schmo bowler but how does a serious bowler practice bowling without the mark to be able to adjust his skill level. And lets not forget that it cost $6 a game now a sign of the times. I will not be going back to Bolero.
They have good deals on odd nights, they have solid drinks on regular nights, theyve got a full arcade, and they have a quality bowling alley. I havent had a bad night here yet. Some of the staff could be more hospitable, but I cant pretend like I dont understand what its like to deal with a bunch of entitled regulars, and take it out on people who arent
They dont listen to you well. I asked where the prices were and they would not help me. I found it myself and said u are charging me to much and they said no were not and I said youre not freaking listening and they said thats cuzzing and u shouldnt say that in front of your kid and you have to leave and tried to kick out my friends just for being with me. So I said no, talk to manager and she is the most sweetest person in the world, I love her. She corrected my point of sale and made me, my kid and my friends the best time ever. Food is great. Bar service is excellent as well. Just the front counter is horrible. Been coming here for 30 years and never been treated that way. John is also the coolest person ever.
This is a super fun place for bowling and they have an arcade! Its great just hanging out here with friends or if you wanna kick back for a couple hours. Theres also air hockey and pool :) They have different specials for certain night for bowling and over the summer there are passes you can buy if you like to visit a lot.
Great place! Bar looked a bit warn, but overall the atomosphere was great. We played two games and had a blast. Small issue with our balls getting stuck and not returning though. We wished they had more seating around the lanes. 3 chairs per lane? Not very great for larger groups (we had 6 a lane). Miss the bench seating that used to be along the back wall of the lanes. Still, would definitely come back in a smaller group!
I have bowled here a few times and the alley is nicely kept. The balls dont have bumps or weird indents on them. The lanes are not damaged and dont affect the ball movement in a bad way. If you want a consistent bowling alley this is the place. In terms of food, the selection is nice. But I had a regular cheeseburger the last time I was there and it wasnt very good. The bread was stale, and you couldnt enjoy it after that. I have had wings before and those were good. I would suggest eating before or after you bowl simply because the prices dont match the quality of the food.
A good place to go with friends. The bar seemed to have quite a few options. You can get a plate of bacon and cheese fries for like 7 bucks that is big enough for your entire group of friends. Only issue was that our ball kept getting stuck, and sometimes took 2 or 3 times of paging the employees for it to get fixed.
Complete ripoff!! $5.99 per person per game... total $73.$18.29 for an 8 slice pizza.4.36 for large soda. Total $17Total cost was over $100couldve gotten one the same size maybe a little bigger at little caesars... next time Ill say screw it and drive to red bluff to go to lariat bowl. Game prices are better and so is food/ Food prices
The staff are friendly. The facilities are clean. The only issue I had was that it seemed like when many people approach the front desk at one time they don’t do a great job prioritizing who to take care of first. I did have to wait quite a while to get my tab closed out even after being noticed.
Do not book a party with AMF Orchard Lanes. We called to reserve a party for my two little boys on the 5th and they said that construction would be done by then. Needless to say, it was not and we had to call all the families and reschedule for when the bowling lanes said they would guarantee to be open. So, we did just that. We rescheduled for the 19 of October and did all the work that comes from planning a party all over again. Then, a few days before the party they once again canceled (for the 2nd time) after they said it would be done by then. I am so disappointed in the way that they treated us and how they do business. I do not recommend anyone booking a party at this establishment.
I would give this place negative stars if I could. I hope people read this review because one of their staff members stole my credit card information. Friends and I went to go bowling and when we arrived the girl at the front counter said she needed my card to keep on file to pay for the games we were going to play. She took my credit card and swiped it and then mumbled something about the system being slow and then inserted the chip in. When leaving I went up to the counter to close my card out and a different girl said she needed my card again to charge it. I was charged, signed the receipt and left. Today(a couple days after bowling) I checked my account and there was a bunch of charges I didn’t make. However, the first charge was a small charge to the bowling alley the day after I was there. This appeared to be a tester to see if my card would work. They then charged a bunch of items to my credit card. I would not normally point fingers so quick, but the evidence is overwhelming. They swiped my card 3 times and then used my card at the bowling alley the day after. 🤔 I called and spoke to the manager who showed no sympathy and was appalled when I said I would be filing a police report. Hopefully this review will prevent this headache from happening to anyone else.
Its a bowling alley and if youre there purely for the social aspect then its not too bad. However if you have any interest in a legitimate bowling game then you may be out of luck, in my experience it would give players free spares all the time even when half the pins were still up. Also there are a few lanes that dont have any seating for two groups to sit at. All around I had a pretty bad time and I dont plan to come back any time soon.
Some lanes do not keep accurate score, but I play for fun, so its not too big of a drawback. There is food and drink, but its a pretty limited menu. Its not restaurant quality, but fits the expectations of a bowling alley.I wish they had more specials and theres usually leagues or tournaments going on. This limits time for non-league bowlers. Extreme bowling is fun, though.
AMF Orchard Lanes is a great place to go with friends or family. The staff members have always been super kind and helpful whenever I have gone in. They have changed the place up ALOT over the years and made it more modern and appealing to all age groups. The food prices are a bit high but I totally understand they have to make a profit. The food is good and the bar area is awesome as well for those 21+.Check out their deals online as well, we just found out about a great summer deal for the family and we will definitely be there more because of that promotion.
Ive bowled at many bowling alleys and this one is average at best. I would note that the food in the snack bar and everything else is much more expensive than other bowling alleys. Employees can also be pushy on trying to get you to signup for their latest gimmick. The bar looks clean and so did most of the alley. Often go out of my way to bowl elsewhere if possible.
Theyve upgraded the arcade, but its gotten a bit ridiculous to just play a few games. Most of the games take 3-4 credits. First, you have to buy a game card for a dollar, and then you have to load the card up with these credits which evens out to about 2 credits for a dollar. Its a bit much to pay 2 dollars for a 1-2 minute game. As well the prizes all being out of stock/ not interesting for anybody over the age of 10.
Great fun for all ages. They have bumpers down the gutter for beginners and metal guides for the young ones. They have lighter balls just for the little ones. My 3 year old grandaughter and her 2 year old aunt had a great time using the guides. They also have a game area full of flashy lights. Thus is a great date place, familt outing , friendly gathering or even just to hone your skills.
Bowling has gotten really expensive. The alley is great, shoes are often very worn. Lots of ball choices and weights are easy to see. For some reason, they tend to clump bowlers next to each other even when there are a lot of available lanes. Thats unpleasant. Really friendly staff though.
Wow, is this place ever expensive! Near $10/person no matter what age for one game. They updated the arcade and it is ridiculous what they charge. Absolutely insulting. Its a well-cared-for bowling alley compared to others in the area but I have no idea who can afford to bring their family here if its not some kind of special.
Way over priced, staff was not very friendly, helpful, knowledgeable about the bowling lanes or in the operation of the kiddy bumpers,or in anything else related to bowling except shoe size and weight of ball for kid. Constantly asking them to fix pins that said they fell but didnt. Just felt like they didnt care and we didnt matter.
You would not believe how horrible the customer service is here. My iced tea was gross and when I asked for lemonade instead the lady with piercings all over her face dramatically through my iced tea in the trash and then gave the lemonade with an attitude. When I got my lane after waiting half an hour I forgot to put my bowling shoes on for my first throw. An employee yelled at me going on and on and threatened to kick me out and bring her manager over. Of course I would put the shoes on if I was just let known I had forgot them. I don’t know what’s wrong with this place but the employees are out of control. Such a shame since my bf payed for ya to have a date night there.
Great place to have some fun. Only problem is that they are extremely overpriced. When I say extremely overpriced I mean they are extremely overpriced for every single thing there from the food to the games to the renting of bowling shoes to the cost of bowling per game

2022-03-27This was a fun place to go to with my friends! We went on a Saturday and did have to be put on a waitlist for a lane. We waited about 15 minutes. So I would recommend making a reservation in advance if you can! Other wise, nice and clean place with food and drinks and even an arcade area.

2022-03-10Always the place to be! Heads up on using Groupon because the rules change depending on the atmosphere. It can be a little stressful situation but its gets resolved in a variety of ways 😜 other than that 5 star place!!!!

2022-06-30My husband wanted to celebrate his birthday in Bowlero. We were expecting around 24-25 people so we made reservations online the day before to ensure we have enough lanes. We also called ahead of time to let them know what we had 2 separate bookings (they only let you reserve for 12 people at a time) and would appreciate it if all the lanes were together. When we got to the bowling alley, they didnt find one of our reservations. Thankfully Adam took down the reservation confirmation I received and worked everything out. He made sure that all the lanes were together and checked in with our group throughout the night to make sure everything was going smoothly. Best part was Adam gifting my husband with a bowling pin that we were all able to sign. We had an amazing experience tonight at Bowlero! Big shout out to Adam for such amazing customer service.

2022-01-15This is a really fun place to go with friends and family! Its typically busy, the last time I went we had to wait around 30 minutes for a lane to open up, but its worth it!

2022-03-28My son and his friends had a fantastic time here! My party grew unexpectedly right before our reservation, but Adam (event coordinator) was more than accommodating to us. Was able to add food and drinks last minute! Also added a fun bowling pin that everyone could sign! 5/5 recommend for your next party.

2020-03-16The new renovations at the bowling alley look great. Same prior structure and layout but with a more modern design. Looks like there will also be a back bar. Looking good!

2022-01-04We had a great time for bringing in the new year. The food that was provided was delicious. Pizza could have been better but it hit the spot. We didnt indulge in the spirits like we had before. But the two drinks we did get, hit the spot.

2022-01-10It was fun! First time here since pandemic. My kids enjoyed it. It was just pretty pricey on a Friday night, but overall staffs were SUPER FRIENDLY!!!
