Rooms are clean upon arrival I had to edit my review due to the way I was treated the second time staying here, the night receptionist would ring my phone 1:3o a.m and when I called back he lied and said some people were playing a game maybe tick-tock, the pregnant receptionist in the day shift not friendly and when asked to change rooms due to a slow drain she was reluctant to do so and I gave the keys back because she gave me a room right in front of the elevator which would be lots of noise hearing people get off the elevator. The washer coin dispenser was not working properly and when asked to clean the room after 3 days of stay no one showed up, I then asked for the linen myself to change my own bed the only thing I liked about this hotel was the person who help with breakfast she was nice and seem to like her job. I will not go back and feel that some Best Western hotels discriminate against some customers.
This hotel was decent. The staff when we checked Was Friendly. They didnt allow dogs but I had my service dog with me and the second night we were there the night staff was rude when I asked where should I take her to use the restroom, he told me anywhere but here, with a rude look on his face. We were on the top floor and they were doing some kind of construction on the roof which was a bit annoying. Air conditioning in The bedroom was cool but the living room stayed a bit warm, made it uncomfortable. Not saying I would never stay there again but if I ever do Im hoping the next stay is better than the first.
Not super happy with this choice but it is what it is. We made the reservation while on the road and didnt realize that the rooms would smell like weed and that other patrons would be smoking it outside their rooms. Also, the location wasnt the best and they only had a walk-up window when checking in or out. No breakfast was served. Also, the wifi was slow. However, the room was clean and everything inside worked. There is also a pool for guests to use. You cant fault the business for the area surrounding it. Unfortunately, places change and sometimes not for the best. The worst thing about the stay is that someone backed into my car overnight. Maybe it was partly due to the tight parking spaces. So, between the pot smokers and someone hitting our car, not the best experience. However, the room was clean and comfortable. If you just need a room to stay in overnight and you arent particular about location, this place works. But if you are, I would keep looking.
This is not a 3 star hotel. Stayed in the King Suite. TV and Internet didn’t work. That happens at times ok. Then not enough linens. They ask me to pick them up (that’s a two star set up) then at night while in bed, my daughter discovers that there is no toilet paper, they set a roll on the sidewalk outside the lobby, I had to get dressed, go down three flights of stairs walk across the parking lot and pick up the roll off the sidewalk. The pictures are deceiving. It maybe was a nice place at one time. But shady characters smoking pot in the parking lot outside your room, with no internet- TV OR customer service. Is a deal breaker. If they were listed as a two star hotel at two star prices, I’d have shrugged most of this off. But three stars comes with a specific level of expectation.
We had a nice stay. The room was so spacious, clean and well designed. Lots of parking. Very quiet room . A nice sushi place right across the hotel. Breakfast had quite a selections which included hot food and fresh cut fruits. But the breakfast area was kind of cramped. Love their 24/7 beverage station! Couldn’t find anything bad with this hotel. I will return next time when I visit LA.
Dont ever stay at this hotel! We opened the sleeper sofa and there was food all over the bed. The rooms smelled and the staff was very unwilling to accommodate. Didnt use the pool, but just looking at the scum on the bottom was enough to make us not want to use it. The owner should be embarrassed by this property and its staff. They priced gouged. We moved to a suite in a Marriott property for much lower rate that included a real breakfast, not fake eggs and microwave bacon!
So economy hotels often come with a negative connotation - sometimes deserved, sometimes not.I have to say this hotel doesnt fall into any of them and I was pleasantly surprised. We needed to book a room late night in something of an emergency situation and the staff took great care of us and even helped us extend the reservation when the situation called for it. The beds were comfortable and the room was very serviceable. Helped us to relax given what was going on in our lives at the time. And the complimentary breakfast was one of legend when it comes to chain hotels. So many options and it was all good. The attendent, Arlene, was extremely helpful, nice, and even offered to get me something to help carry the food back to my room. She was awesome.I highly recommend.
Personally I liked it very much , it was pleasant and very chill (for those like myself appreciate tranquility)😌 the location is also convenient very close to the freeway and as curious as I was exploring a few blocks up to my surprise there were plenty of stores and fast food chains and the closest grocery store was sprouts thats if you dont mind traveling a few blocks across town to shop 😉 but other than that! This place is pretty cool 😎
Room was clean and well decorated. The air conditioner was a remote controlled unit. I had to google the manual to figure it out. The breakfast was great!! The server was super nice and very helpful. The pool was decent, but the jacuzzi needs a good cleaning. All the staff were friendly and helpful.
Dont sleep on this one. Had a very nice stay. Rooms are clean and the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast had a very good variety and the staff at the breakfast bar were very nice. Went out of their way to make sure you enjoyed your breakfast. Would definitely stay here again.
Very comfortable hotel with good location. The rooms were nicely appointed and were very comfortable and quiet. The staff was more than friendly and went out of their way to accommodate my needs. My only complaint is the same complaint I have with most things in this part of California, price. While this is an amazing place, its not any more amazing than a lot of $80-$100 a night rooms Ive had in other parts of the country.
This hotel tries to be top-notch, but its location fights against that facade. I saw several questionable individuals walking around outside of the property and even experienced a stabbing a couple of doors down from my room. Luckily, it was not a vagrant from off of the street, but a dispute between a guest at the hotel and a family member. The lobby is very nice, the breakfast was very tasty, and the rooms are spacious. However, the whole experience was tainted by that incident. I know it is not the fault of the hotel, but maybe more discretion should be taken when allowing people to stay there.
I hate doing this. The hotel was great, all the employees were great except one. Now, realizing this was actually my fault. I left some keys to some of my customers files in the room. The hotel was able to find the keys. I gave them a credit card to mail them to my client. Its been two weeks and guess what. they say I gave them an incorrect address and they were returned in the mail. But no one charged my credit card. Wouldnt i have seen a charge when they sent them out the first time?
We stayed from the 30th of June to July 6th. We were very happy with our stay. The rooms were very clean. Beds were comfortable. The people who clean the rooms work very hard. The breakfast was very good. Hot breakfast every day. All the staff was wonderful. You can tell they take great pride in their work. Will stay again.
I love this place. I travel through here for work about once or twice a month. Its sparking clean and the staff is always thoughtful and courteous. I really appreciate Arlene, she takes great pride in her job at breakfast - which is complimentary btw. I recommend the Suite myself. The location is perfect for me since I can get to most areas I need to be within an hour. I usually arrive for late check in and thats never a problem either. Parking is tight but I can usually see my car from my room. Ive never had to park on the street. Theres a shopping center nearby with Panera and ralphs. I would recommend this place to anyone who cant tolerate anything less than excellent hygiene in my accommodation.
One of the best hotels Ive stayed in for some time. Clean, modern rooms. Very friendly staff. They were very accommodating and went out of their way to ensure our stay was comfortable. Arlene was phenomenal, she prepared a wonderful breakfast experience. Always making sure the food was fresh and plentiful. Bonnie made our check in and check out process very smooth. Cant wait to return to the Pasadena area soon as I know where I will be staying.
We selected this place in Pasadena for our family to stay while visiting CA for the Rose Bowl. I had reviewed online review on Trip Advisor prior to booking. We found the hotel staff to be very nice and helpful. The room was clean and even though we faced the street, noise was minimal. Breakfast in the morning was great.Parking spaces are tight. Just have to watch pulling in and out and Wifi was spotty at times. This was a nice clean property that got the job done for a short visit during a popular weekend.
Always come back to this place for a reason !! Always clean and very friendly staff !! Eli at the window is the best and takes care of you like a friend not a customer. Suite rooms are a must and the best around !! Breakfast is ok due to Covid it’s not the same but doesn’t stop me from going there .
+ Breakfast was very good for this quality hotel.(Arlene on buffet was very helpful)- The shower was broken, there were very few water coming from shower. Taking a regular shower took 30minutes instead of 5 because of this problem.- The heater and refrigerator was working so loudly(since they are oldu), i was unable to sleep so deactivated both.- Did not like their sheet arranging. it may be very easy for them but slips very easily. To conclude, the hotel needs renovation, i will not prefer it again
Excellent location for what we needed; we had tickets to see U2 at the Rose Bowl and this hotel was perfectly situated. We really like the Best Western brand and this particular hotel did not disappoint. The check in staff and the breakfast staff went out of their way to make sure we had everything we possible needed. While the outside of the hotel may not be the fanciest; the comfort of the room, the convenience and the price made it a great choice. If we ever have need to be in Pasadena again, we would not hesitate to stay again at this property.
I booked two suites for my nephews wedding. Nice, clean hotel in very convenient and yet relatively quiet area. Hotel lobby, dinning room, hallways and rooms are clean and comfortable. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Jose did an excellent job making us feel welcome and answering all our questions. Thank you, Jose and hotel staff! Everyone in my family was very happy with our stay. Thank you!
Reservation was messed up. Was told at midnight I did not have a reservation even though I had an email with a reservation.Once in the room, the pullout couch did not have sheets, and when asked for them was told they do not provide them (why is it a pullout couch then?). Was given a blanket after insisting I needed something to sleep under.Living room portion had no window was depressing.Breakfast was good.
We enjoyed our stay at the BW Pasadena Royale Inn and Suites. The location was perfect for exploring LA by metro rail and visiting the Huntington library and gardens. Room was very comfortable and well decorated and quiet. Hotel staff was very polite and helpful. Breakfast was excellent. Car parking was very convenient. Would strongly recommend this hotel to other travelers.
The room we stayed in was nice, beds were super comfortable and the free breakfast was honestly the best free breakfast Ive ever had staying at a hotel. However, Im giving it a 2/5 because we couldnt even park our own car in the hotel parking lot. We stayed one night for the ed sheeran concert and there was no parking in the hotel parking lot. We only had 1 car and when I talked to the manager or owner guy he said he was trying to accommodate everyone and some people had more than 1 car. Every hotel Ive stayed in has a rule that one car can park per room and the other can either get a guest pass or has to park elsewhere. I spent about $300 on our room including security deposit which I booked months ago and we couldnt even park in the lot. RIDICULOUS!
Very nice hotel in a location close to many of the attractions in/near Pasadena (Huntington Library, Santa Anita racetrack). The rooms are clean and the suite we were in was spacious. Front desk staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast here was very well-stocked and an attendent was always there to make sure guests had everything they needed.
Upon checking in the guy was very nice. He was very thorough and wanted us to know how progressive and hip and cool they were at pasadena royale... Yes, the hotel was obviously going through renovations. The rooms were very nice and comfortable. It was also very quiet. The breakfast was above regular complimentary breakfast. They had a good selection and the attendant was very nice.
Clean, friendly and close to downtown Pasadena. The staff are just great. Breakfast is typical but Arlene who works breakfast shift is just a wonderful representative for the hotel. Great customer service. I stay here when in Pasadena on business. Wish the pool was bigger and I always stay on second or third floor.Recommend for people traveling or needing a moderately priced place to stay.
Area seemed a little shady, even moreso when we caught a glimpse of the motel. Their logo was not on the building, but the gray shadow of where it belonged was there. Check-in was smooth and painless, the young man was swamped at the time but remained calm and pleasant. Once we got inside the room we breathed a sigh of relief. The inside was really nice and clean, modern fixtures, plush beds, clean carpet! Were had trouble with our TV, turns out we just had to connect a cable for service. We had called front desk and he had arrived at the room promptly, just as it started to load, he was very nice and understanding about it. Overall nice stay, parking is kind of cramped.
Nice hotel room and relatively clean. Hot breakfast consist of DIY waffles, a pancake machine that you choose how many and they pop out. Along with the usual Bagel, bread cereal and some fresh fruit. The only downside and reason I couldnt give it 5 stars is because of the parking and its tight parking spots.
It was not my first stay at this conveniently located and reasonnable priced Best Western. Recently refurbished the hotel is in a very good condition, clean, rooms are pleasant and the staff efficient and welcoming. I would not hesitate to stay there again if I travel again to the area.
This motel has the absolutely best free breakfast of any hotel Ive stayed at. I try to eat a healthy breakfast, and the food here is perfect. There are bowls of fresh cut up fruit and whole fruits. There are fresh blueberries , other berries, and cut up strawberries to sprinkle on my cold cereal along with granola and other healthy items to put on the cold cereal. There are many flavors of yogurt and several kinds of pastries and breads. Of course, they also have warm eggs, bacon, sausages, etc., which I dont eat. The breakfast attendant is always bustling about keeping all items filled and the tables clean. Because of the breakfast, location, and service, its the only motel I will stay at in Pasadena.
The front desk is understaffed, the people are undertrained though pleasant, the breakfast is ok at best, the room, which was their best handicapped accessible room, was not accessible and the shower was actually dangerous. The room was overcrowded with furniture which made it impossible to move around in a conventional wheeelchair without help. The one star is for the Wi-fi, which worked well. Its also not in the best neighborhood. Will never stay there again.
The parking spaces are really tight. If you have a minivan, youll have to park over the line and still risk getting your doors dinged. They also messed up our reservation. Instead of having two beds, were stuck with a horrible, uncomfortable pullout sofa bed, for the same price.
I can always count on having a neat room at Best Western.I prefer staying at Best Western when ever there is one in the area that I need to be at. This is because, I know what to expect from Best Western, mainly - feel SAFE. The price is very reasonable. Good service from the staff - is the norm.
When we arrived at the hotel. We check in and head to our room. As we walk into the room we see that we have 2 beds instead of a king. I head back down to the office and they say that it was over booked and that they are actually updating us. But 2 smaller beds when we only need one doesnt sound like an upgrade. They refused to help us or apologize. Saying its our fault when we booked it. Terrible customer service.
Experience with staff was so miserable, its hard to believe its a Best Western. When I checked in with my wife and son, the front desk person said that I had to pay $10 extra per person, as my reservation only had one person on it. I said that was surprising because it didnt say that in the app; because thats a policy more associated with a one-star flophouse than a three-star chain; and because who would check in one person to a room with two queen beds? He told me that I was free to stay somewhere else. I found his sudden, inexplicable hostility to be so far beyond my experience and decorum, yet I looked on the app to confirm. I discovered that they had so much extra inventory that the $125 room that I had booked was now only $34! So I asked about his cancellation policy, and he said, youre free to cancel, but were keeping your money. As crazy and rude as that was, it was to get stranger. That night, I decided to stay at a friends and my wife and son stayed there. The next day, I stopped by to take my son to lunch. I went in the room, and a few minutes later, there was a knock on the door. It was housekeeping. The woman asked me, Did you take my Windex? I was flummoxed. What? Did you steal my Windex? I assured her that I did not, and she gave me a side-eyes look. The room wasnt bad at all. My wife said the breakfast was good. And if you reserve the same day, you may get it for $34 - which is about on par for the treatment youre likely to receive. But Im kindof surprised that a Best Western had employees that were that hot-tempered and obnoxious.
We checked in kind of late, but thank God we found a parking spot in front of our room. The lot was full with some guests double parking behind our cars. making it difficult to back up in the morning. The room was ok, but the door did not shut properly, but looked shut. You had to push it to latch it. Also, the A/C was blowing on our face throughout the night. The breakfast was ok.
Everything was great up until Monday morning we walked out the door to leave and the maids ahead been moping the entire level with no caution sign anywhere in sight! Both my daughter and I both stepped out the door and and fell right down because the floor was so slippery. The ground is black so when they mop it you cant tell it wet. When coming back upstairs after breakfast (wasnt good to begin with) we got to the second floor which was being mopped all over again for some reason. My 4 year old feel on her head again from the ground being so slippery, I caught myself this time but all 3 of the maids saw it happen. Not one of them asked if my screaming in pain child was okay! Not one sign saying wet floor! And when I said something to them about having a sign and doing this when its hot so it dries faster they looked at my but never said a word. I then got frustrated and told them how they should be fired before the hotel gets sued because of them and one of the ladies that was moping came right over to our room door and mopped right in front of it to be petty and watch us all slip again? I was so disappointed I have never seen such disrespectful employees at a best western! These 3 ladies were the rudest and uncompasiaonte people to watch a 4 year old fall and hit her head twice because of their mopping and no signs! Will never be staying here again after this level of unprofessionalism!
If you are looking for a clean room, quiet sleep, and friendly staff at reasonable rates, the Pasadena Inn is your place. Free WiFi, free parking, and a free breakfast add to this bargain. With easy access to the 210 Freeway downtown Pasadena is only minutes away or if you prefer, you can travel down Colorado Blvd and see an inventory of nearby restaurants and shops that can supply your every need.
Lets just say I have stayed at worst. The rooms we clean but maybe a little worn out. This building is old but the inside must have been remolded at some point in the past few years. For the price well you get what you pay for and for the price I would say in this case its a little better then most rooms at this price.
Wow! Where do I began. This is a first time occurrence and certainly hope the last. The employee at this location deliberately withheld my room type and downgraded me to a different room. I submitted numerous complaints to BW Customer Relations, submitted a review to the GM, Harry Monga and to my surprise, Harry Monga refused and did everything in his power to refute the facts as they were and denied any wrong doing on the part of his hotel staff. What is even more surprising is his lack of education. It was shocking that he does not know how to form full grammatically correct sentences. I had to remind him it is SUITE, not SUIT. Scary coming from a person who represents a hotel. Not too sure what are the educational requirements to become a general manager at this chain. I know nothing will ever be done but what I do want to do is educate the public. Since these hotels are individually owned and operated, if you feel that you experiencing unethical behavior, speak out, let your voice be heard. I am sure I am not the only one who has had unusual difficulties with this place. Contact Customer Relations. I am sure if they have enough complaints, they may have their contract to operate as a Best Western terminated. This goes far beyond having a general bad experience. These people are unethical. This GM and his employee are pathological liars. They do not care about its customers only how much money they can make. If you ever experience extreme unfairness from this place or any other independently owned hotel, make sure your voice is heard. Enough complaints will prompt extreme action.
Shady location, felt unsafe, front office locked and closed upon arrival at 8:30 pm and had to ring night bell many times until someone arrived and told he was helping a guest in their room, then tried to contact front office in evening several times and still no one replied, when asked about this in am was told helping other guests in their room

2022-05-26This is a very nice hotel for business or vacation. It is reasonably priced and close to Los Angeles and the San Gabriel Mountains. The rooms are comfortable and clean with microwave and refrigerator. The water pressure in the shower is good and wifi is decent. The breakfast staff person was awesome. I recommend this place!

2022-07-05Reasonable and standard rooms. Has two closets for the 2 queen bed. Towels are small, and thin. Toilet is powerful but loud. AC works well, but make sure to move the curtains behind it so that the cold reaches the room. Beds comfortable, but if you have people getting up a lot at night it will make noise. Never heard neighbors, so I assume that the walls are fairly soundproof. Never heard the freeway.Breakfast was pretty good, standard continental stuff. Eggs a little too salty. Very nice breakfast attendant. Not many locations to walk to. Has a pool, but I never used it.Overall an above average hotel, and I would recommend it.

2022-06-29If youve been in Southern California this last week of June, you know how horrifically hot its been. Unfortunately, the power had gone out two days in a row in Altadena, and I couldnt take the heat/lack of electricity anymore. Especially since the outage repair had no definite end in sight.Rather than remain cranky, I opted for some self care and booked a last-minute room at the Best Western Pasadena Royale Inn & Suites. Check-in was smooth and my room was clean and comfortable. I swam in the sparkling clean pool for the remaining hour it was open. Beyond grateful for cold, effective air conditioning, I slept peacefully the entire night.Breakfast service was what made my experience at the Best Western stellar. Elise was on duty, and she is extraordinary. Her enthusiasm, attentiveness, positivity and friendliness is absolutely genuine. You can tell she enjoys interacting with the guests. In fact, all the staff I encountered went out of their way to ensure I had a good experience.Thank you, Best Western, for helping me cool off, relax, sleep well and smile the next day.

2022-06-20Wasnt in the area for pleasure but its not a great area so Im not sure why anyone would be. The room was nice looking enough and had coffee, a mini fridge and a microwave but the AC didnt work well and it made my friend and I feel sick after staying there. It was not the nicer location than the Best Western right next to it (weird) but about $20 less, staff however was friendly and knowledgeable.

2022-03-02I travel back and forth alot between Pasadena and Redondo Beach. When I stay in Pasadena I get 5 star service EVERY TIME. The hotel has a convenient location right off of the highway, close to restaurants, and grocery store. The house keeping staff is incredibly meticulous. The rooms are always spotless, the mattresses are super comfortable, and the staff....I absolutely cannot say enough about their staff. It does not matter who is working on any particular day or night. Any issues or need will be meet properly and efficiently. An entire staff of a hotel being this great starts from the top and has that trickle down effect. From Erika to Eli and the rest of their subordinates it is a successful team effort. This place is a hidden gem with great rooms from the single to the suites. Its the only place I stay when Im in the area. Congratulations to Erika and her crew. This is what service is supposed to be like.

2022-02-05Love this hotel! Staff are very friendly and rooms are clean. Me and my fiance stayed here twice already. It feels like home when we visit California. We will be coming back again to stay.

2022-07-01The room left a lot to be desired and so was the service. There was none. No room service, no bellboy. But the vending machine machine takes credit cards!

2022-03-29Hair dryer did not work in room, shower was a bit dirty on the walls and hair was left over in the room from the previous guest. Wouldn’t recommend unless it’s just for a night. Breakfast is a honey bun and a bottle of water. TV remote had a broken volume button and the painting was sitting in the corner of the room I was assigned. I’d like to add I was charged a damage fee for a hole in the wall and the painting on the ground that was there when I got there and I took pictures and reported it and was told they knew. Yet they still charged me. It was just $100 but very unethical and I’d never stay there again. Not worth the cheap rate AT ALL

2022-03-21Nice size room. Room was very clean. Staff was very helpful and welcoming. Area is whatever, but they cant help that.
