Found the dwarf carpet of stars groundcover that I had put out before. Unfortunately I found the same thing later at Lowes for $8 less per flat.
My first time at Armstrong Garden center and Loved it. I had been calling several Home Depots and they didnt have any Milkweed available. Thankfully, as I search Google I found Armstrong Garden center. They have a great selection of plants, they are well taken care of and wonderful helpful staff. I will be returning soon for more Milkweed for our Caterpillars.

Ive purchased Ikea and Home Depot plants for years and they always die no matter what I do. I purchased two here and theyre doing incredibly well! The cashier really cared too, wanted to make sure I knew how to take care of the plants, love it.
Wish I could give them 10 stars. The customer service is what makes this place wholesome— they show guests that they care and they provide real solutions. They are extremely knowledgeable.I came in with not a lot of knowledge on how to start my own vegetable garden or how revitalize some fruit trees; and they were very willing to provide me with effective solutions. I also felt comfortable being that I am still in the beginner phase, they did not make it feel intimidating. They were willing to teach me.I am Thankful for that
This place was and is amazing. It is full of life with their plants, flowers and specially their employees. Jesus one of their team members was phenomenal, he is what outstanding customer service is all about. He was great and should be recognized for his service. He was engaged and so experienced and knowledgeable. We will be recommending this to our family and friends.
I was disappointed in two things: prices and customer service. Now maybe they take better care of the plants here??? but the Draconea plants are three times more expensive than Home Depot.My biggest disappointment was that I wasn’t even greeted. Don’t get me wrong, I’m all for being able to look around without being bothered but when a customer comes in say hello and ask if they can be helped. Don’t just chat amongst yourselves especially about waking up with a swollen eye. I don’t want to hear that. I’d suggest the Long Beach store send a quick note to the the staff there (10/31 9:15am ish)

First time coming here and I can just say wow, an oasis for plant lovers. The selection is huge, with a plant for every home gardener; beginner and experienced. I found everything I needed with such huge selection I know I will come back. Also thanks to worker Lynna for being super nice and helping me with my plant selection, their staff looked very nice and helpful.
Its nice to have a place in my neighborhood to go to for gardening supplies. If I get an idea for something I want for my yard or balconies, I can run over here and most likely they will have it. This was actually somewhere we could go during stay at home orders. We would walk around and shop for plants to tend to and pottery to paint during that time. It was very therapeutic.
I took my relative here to find flowering plants and we were successful. Beautiful variety of plants, good parking lot and easy checkout. We will return when we need more.

A hidden gem tbh!! imagine a huge backyard with plants. its a bit pricey here than home depot or other plant nurseries, but they have a huge selection of cute succulents and some pots to put your plants in!!! there was a guy who helped me with a quick question, so thanks again for the friendly service. its lively and i cant wait to visit again. you can find ufo plants here and pothos! its beautiful :)

Ive been here a few times and Ive loved it each time. The staff is really friendly and give advice while you browsing for items :). I tend to be shy and an awkward conversation starter so I dont like asking for help but they have been very helpful as I am a new gardener. Ill definitely be making this my go to spot for my gardening needs.

The manager Mr. Kim was very helpful my first time visiting, as well as very happy & excited to share his experience and knowledge on gardening. I went there today because my friend wanted to buy some plants she wasnt able to find at her local nursery. Lanette, the sales person who helped us, was knowledgeable, professional, and patient. My friend asked her lots of questions, but Lanette never lost patience. When we couldnt find any peonies, she even radioed her manager to find out when they would be available. It was a fun experience and my friend was able to purchase the milkweed and other plants she needed. I highly recommend going to Armstrong and asking for Lanette for your gardening needs!

I was Christmas tree shopping for the 1st time since 2012 ( bought an artificial tree). I spent at least an hour trying to choose one.Your associate Karen was awesome. I probably interupted her, while she was working in another section, 10 times with questions. Each time she was friendly & responsive.The young man who wrapped my tree & secured it to the top of my car was courteous & helpful.
This nursery is right in the heart of Long Beach. The staff is super friendly and offers so much insight into your purchase. They have never pushed additional product on me or trying to upsell me in anyway. I have and will continue to shop at this place for a long time to come.
Great experience shopping there, staffs are helpful anwsering questions, providing gardening tips with different plants. The only thing is the store is located at the intersection of two very busy streets which may be the only reason that i dont go there that frequent

This place is a Gardners toys r us! A little pricey but worth the extra $ you pay avoiding home Depot and Lowes! The plants are healthier and they make sure the plants are good for the local climate and surrounding area. Awesome employees and huge selection of new and mature plants. Highly recommend this place.
We heard the staff was friendly and they exceeded our expectations! We had three different employees as if we needed help and never pushed us in any way. They helped us with finding a great Christmas tree and getting it on our car. They also interacted with our son and were great with him too! We will be coming back again in the future!
So beautiful, so friendly, I cannot decide if the beautiful greenery or the lovely staff were my favorite part. We ventured into the center on search for a Venus fly trap and much like Target, I left with a couple extra cacti and a smile that just wouldnt stop. They unfortunately didnt have everything that I needed but that was more my fault than theirs. Such a lovely experience and I can barely contain my excitement. We named the Venus flytrap Henry. I hope he doesnt die soon!
You had all I needed and then some , I only went one tomato plant I got 5 tomato plants and some other plants and my wife got a few so is more than I bargained for thank you . Oh and your quality compared to the one in Long Beach far far exceeded great quality of plants .

Nice selection of seeds, fruit trees, and flowers. Helpful staff. Bought 3 kings palms and had them delivered. Delivery was on time and deliveryman was eager to please and spotted heavy palms right where we want them. Planted them ourselves, but they offer planting for a fee. I would probably recommend having you or your gardener plant instead as it can get expensive. Very pleased with the whole experience and plants are guaranteed.
They have some of the best variety of plants in the area. This isnt the garden section of a home center!
More garden help than anywhere else, served up by expert staff. Somewhat pricey, but worth it for advice on what you want. Plus, shop sales and theyre less expensive than big box. Do wander around the store, my favorite is the chimes. Lots of chimes. Do bring big hat so as to really get them orchestrated. Staff love it.
Great selection of plants for outdoor or indoor gardening needs. Polite, helpful and knowledgeable staff available to help you find specific species or suggest plants based on light levels, space, etc. There are numerous small-scale landscaping displays to help inspire ideas for your own garden as well. Definitely a hidden gem!

Every time I go here the staff is friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. They offer free class on a variety of gardening subjects. Be sure to sign up for their rewards program so that you get notifications of class offerings and sales.
Armstrong is my favorite local nursery. I love that they are a co-op and the employees are owners of the space. The plants are all super healthy and they have gorgeous flowers blooming year-round. They are always helpful and even carry my heavy stuff to my car for me. I will be back.

Its a good nursery. The staff is wonderful. Of course, I still remember its predecessor, Park Nursery. Park was wonderful, and had things no one else had. Its hard to compare an outlet of a nursery chain with Park, but Armstrong is very good.
Parking is a bit of a pain, but other than that the place was nice, layout easy to understand and the employees were very friendly and knowledgeable!
I went there with weed samples that they were able to identify and suggest treatment that they actually stocked.I had citrus leaves with damage that they identified and were able to make a recommendation.VERY helpful and knowledgeable.Why go anywhere else!!!

Oh my GOODNESS I stopped in get my dirt analyzed. Kevin was very knowledgeable and he tested my dirt from two areas. Found out my dirt is clay not sand. Kevin suggested I should purchase DR. EARTH Organic Premium ALL PURPOSE PLANTING MIX. This will be my new spot off 10th going forward. 🤗👍🏾

Armstrong is a beautiful little oasis in the mid-town area of Long Beach. I love going there just to walk around and look at all the beautiful flowers and pots they have on display. The fountains and organization of plants are wonderful. Plants and supplies are a little on the pricier side - but I do feel their staff are professionals and extremely helpful, when its not too busy.
Been going here for 50 years, back in the day it was Park Nursery. The staff are always very helpful and plant smart. You cant get that kind of help at Home Depot.
A nice neighborhood nursery, prices can be a bit higher than other nurseries, but they run sales from time to time and the plants are good quality. Parking can be bad as the spaces are too narrow, so park on the street.

I reserved Pink Lemonade blueberries & received an email that my item was ready to be picked up. Finding the blueberry plant was a breeze & I soon had it in my possession.Areas are easily distinguishable, so as not to get lost. An array of fountains & garden sculptures cater to almost everyones taste.Service has been good when Ive been here. Need help loading? No problem. Pot your plant? You got it. They take good care of you here.Parking is in a private lot.Armstrong Garden Center is a great place to accomplish your gardening needs. Not Everyone is a Botanist or an expert in plants, thats why we come to places like Armstrong.The employees should be aware of this and not make faces or say why would you ever want to do that?.. Many customers prefer not to be ridiculed for their lack of knowledge. Maybe its just me.

Its beautiful its large and there are many things to look at, however nobody greeted me nobody asked me if I needed any help even though I passed several employees, and a good 45% of the plants were dry, really dry.

2022-06-02Plants: when comparing Armstrongs garden centers to other large retail box change stores, all of the plants and Armstrongs are all in good health and alive. Plenty of selections from fruit tree, vegetable plants, flowers, trees, grasses, bushes, outdoor furniture outdoor decoration, and carnivorous plants.Service: The clerks all have a green thumb and they are more than happy to give you advice! The clerk that worked with me spoke of different varieties of plants that will work for my location and best how to care for them. Thank you for taking your time with me!Final thought: Armstrongs has a lot of plans that you wont find at other retail stores. When I visit other retail stores, their plants are always dying or already dead. All the plants here at the center, tend to be looked well after and kept alive.

2022-01-06Great selection for all your household gardening needs. But most importantly it’s the people here that make this place stand out. They are incredibly knowledgeable and really care about what they do. They listen patiently and offer advice on whatever project you’re working on. Doesn’t matter if you are redoing your front yard or buying a few indoor plants, they’ll help you out. Can’t go wrong here.

2022-06-28Walked around trying to find someone to help me for over 5 minutes, finally found someone watering and when I asked for help he said he couldnt help me but would call someone. He called twice over walkie but no one came. Then he says so what are you looking for? Takes me to the area, has no idea what I am looking for, and then I found it on my own. Went to register and no one was there to help. Had to wait again. Went to Lowes later and found the plant I wanted for $8 cheaper! Overpaid and horrible customer service. Dont waste your time and money

2020-07-27Im really enjoying shopping for my new houseplants at Armstrongs. They have a wide selection of healthy-looking plants and the staff are very willing to answer all my long-winded questions... (Im a houseplant newbie). So far after repotting a week ago, my plants are doing fantastic! The only thing Id mention that was a bit of a bummer is that when I called to ask about their delivery service they didnt mention that its only free if you spend $650 or more, otherwise its a $50 delivery charge. But other than that, its been pretty great!
