The technician that serviced my home was very nice and took the time to speak w/me about the tupe of insects I deal w/outside my home. I would give Aptiv 5 stars but they seem to always need to reschedule my quarterly services and it can take weeks or longer to get a technician to come back and re-service my home.
Tl;dr -(1) salesman was good at hiding pricing/review information and giving a pitch, but I dont want a predatory subscription service for a treatment(2) made with a chemical they dont name and(3) from a company whose founders have already failed twice at making pest control companies, both of which were also plagued by opaque pricing issues and poor services (Alterra and EcoFirst)Very eerie that Google reviews are so high when Yelp reviews are so low. The pricing model seems predatory -- the traditional method of paying for a one time treatment with X years of guaranteed efficacy or get free re-treatments is far preferable to multiple treatments within a years time with shorter guaranteed periods. For reference: he was claiming that the initial treatment was at a discount of $100, and each subsequent treatment was $129, of which there were four. If you cancel early, you get charged $200. At some point he said something about $300, but I dont recall what that was in reference to. Their website doesnt provide any quotes so these prices are completely impossible to verify unless other reviewers also share the prices they were approached with.Salesperson was predatory and convinced my neighbors who only speak English as a second language to sign on without notifying them of the $200 cancellation fee. They never told me what the active ingredient in the chemical was -- even if its some special mix, that information is clearly printed on all store-bought insect sprays and youre providing a service to spray it, customers ought to know what it is.Even if the product works, the entire sign up process is shady. The founders of Aptive have already tried and failed twice at making pest control companies: Alterra and EcoFirst. This can be viewed by finding the founders names on the Aptive website and browsing their LinkedIn profiles for the failed company names.
Just started the service. The first service/ inspection is smooth. Oscar is a joyful person and the service was on time. How effective it is? We shall see. I do want to comment that different areas of a house could be charged separately could be some annoying details to track.A few service appointment later, however, its hard to tell if they came or not. No one even ring the doorbell. The trust we build start to deteriorating.
We were visited by Zack late Friday afternoon and he was very informative of who they were and what they were offering. They also gave us a discount which was favorable and was a great incentive. We scheduled for an indoor and outdoor treatment for the next day, Saturday. Nick and Paxton were our Bug Technicians, they were very courteous, respectful and informative. They took the time to go through in and around the house and explained possible scenarios, reasons and expectations for today and for the next few days. I am hopeful that treatment would work. They assured us that they would come back if we need more assistance. Overall, very satisfied and highly recommended. Definitely would hire them again!
Update: I called to schedule an appointment that theyve rescheduled twice in two weeks, once on the same day they were supposed to come out. They dont offer the ability to schedule appointments through their portal and it takes forever for someone to answer the phone. No longer recommend. In general I am pleased with Aptives service. My daughter thinks its smoke and mirrors but I have definitely noticed a decrease in the number of ants and other creepy-crawlies that come inside my house since I became a customer several years ago. The issue I have is their haphazard approach to scheduling appointments. Sometimes they send an email, sometimes they call, sometimes they send a text. Sometimes I get a couple days notice, sometimes I do not. Today I got a text message at 9 a.m. for a visit 4 hours later. Since they canceled the last visit, I went ahead and took todays last minute appointment but I am a planner and these kind of events drive me nuts. So bottom line, good result, so so in the administrative details.
Zack had came and offered their services to us I had sent him away the first time and asked him to come back at a later time. He had came back and we talked again and we ended up scheduling a time to get my house sprayed he was awesome very easy to talk to you and very knowledgeable about the services his company provides I felt comfortable and in good hands. Rescheduled my appointment for Friday between the hours of 8 AM to 10 at 8:10 I ended up getting a text message saying that they would arrive in 20 minutes he arrived in 20 minutes Aaron pulled up he was a very nice gentleman introduced himself very friendly and kind he explains what he was going to do and the process it would take once he was done he asked if I had any questions or any concerns I don’t showed him a couple things that were going on in the property and he came up with some solutions and put me at ease. Overall my experience with my sales associate and sales tech was awesome and I can’t wait to see how the product itself works thank you Aaron and Zack for everything you’ve done. I hope your company knows that they have two great employees on their team.
I have never written a review before, but I felt the need to express my disappointment regarding the customer service that I have received from Aptive. Although we did receive effective flea treatment through our service with Aptive, I was deeply frustrated by the way that I was treated by the company regarding our last quarterly treatment. Aptive was supposed to come to our house to do an indoor treatment between 10:00 and 12:00 on a Thursday. I arranged my schedule around being able to be at home during this period. Also, I cleared our carpets and alerted my children, who are doing school at home, that Aptive would be arriving sometime between the hours of 10 and 12. I waited until 11:45 and no one had arrived or called. Finally, I called and was told that they had to skip my route. The problem was that no one had called me to alert me of the fact that they werent coming. The customer service person was unapologetic and didnt offer a good explanation or any kind of compensation for my wasted time. I asked to speak to a manager and was told that one would call me back. When someone did call me back three days later and left a voice mail, I called back within an hour and the person was not available. I waited for another call back and never received one. I called customer service again and they were similarly unhelpful and unresponsive. I asked for a call from a manager and a week later I havent received one. I feel that a company needs to come during a promised two hour appointment time, or at least call to explain why they are not coming. My time was wasted, but Aptive didnt seem to care and assumed no responsibility for my inconvenience.
Aptive technicians have been courteous and professional. They seem knowledgeable but I don’t know much so it’s an easy sell. Had to call them because if an issue with gnats (quantities of gnats!!) that I have not been able to figure out. Since the technicians are not allowed to go into the crawl space they provided as thorough an investigation as they could. Made some suggestions for things I should try to find the source but they sprayed and left me with a bug zapper device. All in all I am very satisfied with the service even though I still have work to do to find the source. My issue with the company is that it is near impossible to get someone on the phone. I did finally get a service schedule using email. But it would have been nice to tell someone ahead of time what the issue was do they would have the right products. It makes me wonder whether it’s just one formulation for everything which doesn’t seem right but again I don’t have the knowledge to say it should be otherwise.
Their service is usually very good. Mostly depends on the service person comes that day. Most of them do a good job. Few new people are keen in completing the work and moving on to next appointment. Todays service person Mario Ruiz was really patient and did a detailed job. Thanks Mario.
Their sales man come to my door saying they are service the area and I should give it a try which I did. They are supposedly to take off spider web and also treat for rodents -- I noticed after the service the still quite a bit spider web left in my front porch. I think oh well its a $100, no big deal.Until a few month later, they sent me another bill for $140 -- saying its for the 2nd treatment which nobody even scheduled anything for me. Then they say I signed contract with them, there is 4 treatment total and if early cancelation would be $200 penalty --- which nobody ever mentioned about anything to me. The claimed signed contract I have no impression at all. All the sales man communicated to me was one time $100 to try their services. I feel its a completely trick. So customer be careful. Would absolutely not use them again.
Eric was on time, came to the door asked if the back had a door to getinto the yard. Asked if any pets, I said NO. He spent quite a bit of timespraying the red ants out front and got all around the front yard. Hethen went to the back and got everything sprayed. So far every onethat has come to the house are very informative and nice young Men.I love the service, thanks Sue
Oscar did a quick solid job in and around my home. He answered my questions about service and completed additional requests to ensure that I was content with the job. Cant say how efficient/durable the treatment is since I just got it, but the customer service is stellar.
I was dreading looking for a pest control service because we’re renting and have a dog, but we had a MAJOR ant infestation and Aptive was the service service I came by that gave the impression of quality and transparency, plus a focus on more eco-friendly solutions. From heading to their website, getting contacted with a quote immediately, setting up an appointment, AND getting service the next day - it was the most seamless experience I think I’ve ever had and would love to give as much credit as I can to their entire team.Adam came and took care of us - he was awesome and I can’t emphasize that enough. He was extremely friendly, extremely knowledgeable, found out the source for us immediately (plum tree our landlord planted + tarp underneath made our yard a breeding ground). Adam genuinely cared about our situation and letting us know preventative measures, behavior of ants and bugs in general, and was fully transparent with their service and what to expect. He didn’t rush either - it was his end of day and he de-webbed our home, found some other neat things, and was just very personable. It’s been impossible to get these ants under control for weeks - I am so relieved and happy to have signed a contract that I felt like wasn’t packed with hidden fees, “gotchas” etc. It’s a really great and satisfying feeling to find a great company you’re looking forward to using and recommending to others. I wish I found you guys so much sooner - cheers to doing things right and taking great care of your employees and customers.
Service is consistent, cleared webs from eaves and sprayed around the home. I have been using Aptive for three years. Only one time did I get ants because of extreme heat. I called them for a visit but they were busy. Three days later the service arrived but I already removed the ants myself. My only suggestion would be to service before a heatwave. Other than that the pests are under control. I had ants, spiders and springtails.
Their actual service is fine (once they arrive), but I have had consistent problems with scheduling. When it’s time for my quarterly service, I receive an appointment notification with a 4-hour window for their arrival. I have yet to experience their arrival within that 4-hour window. Today, they arrived at 2PM for an appointment that was scheduled for 8AM-Noon. Each time that happens, I speak with the service representative who assures me that they will take care of it so that it won’t happen again…yet it continues to happen - every single time. Shame on me for continuing to patronize this company.
Aptive has NO consideration for its clients time AT ALL. On multiple occasions I have scheduled a service during a morning block of time (8-12) and the guy either doesnt show up or comes hours after 12 pm. I have several pets so for me its a bit of an ordeal to get serviced. I have to board my animals and then cannot pick them up until at least a couple hours after the service is complete. I plan my whole day around this. They are supposed to contact me 30 min prior to service. They dont even have the common courtesy to give me a heads up they are running late! Or that no one will be showing up that day! Not only do I pay to board my pets, I pay for a service that doesnt happen! Not to mention the stress to my pets being boarded much longer than necessary! (Sometimes boarded for no reason because the guy never showed!)I call multiple times thru out the day and can never get a hold of anyone that knows what is going on or where the guy is, and no one can get a hold of the guy. Just completely unprofessional. I DO NOT recommend them, unless you want to spend your days off stuck at home never knowing when the guy will show up to spray inside your house (I need to be here for the guy to get inside). Or getting stuck boarding your pets to have the yard free for spraying and then theyre stuck in a kennel all day for no reason! Terrible customer service that doesnt value their clients time at all!
Huge mistake signing a contract with this company. I fell for a smooth sales guy and forgot to check Yelp and google reviews. They have very unreliable service. Ever since my first service, I have been getting ants inside my house. Never had any ants issues inside my house ever since I have been living in this house. They have not been able to resolve it. More ever, for my last appointment, they didnt even show up and we waited for them for hours. For the earlier visit, the service personnel showed up at a completely different time than the window they were supposed to. Luckily I was home. This is a very unprofessional company and Yelp and Google reviews are a proof. I dont see this business last for too long. Stay away. Unfortunately I am stuck by a contract.
Shawn was super helpful today. In fact, it started last night when he sent a text message reminding me of his arrival today. I was worried that a treatment today, in the rain, wouldnt be productive. Shawn assured me that they have rain resistant treatment that would work. When Shawn arrived,, he explained what they were going to do, agreed to replace the sticky traps and place a rodent trap in the backyard. The team was quick and efficient and out in about 15 minutes.
The first person who came to our door was not wearing a mask; Zack came to our door, I answered and he name dropped my neighbor, (weird), and that she uses them and is just so happy. I told him I couldnt remember the name of our current bug service in hopes he would leave; he told me he would come back later to talk to my husband since I couldnt remember the name. I asked for a biz card, he said he only had fridge magnets, (odd). He ended up returning later that evening, (rang the door bell twice and knocked a good while), and when my husband answered and then stated to Zack that he would need to talk to me about the service before making a decision, the guy actually told my husband he would wait and for him and to speak to me right now. Zack then said they were going to be at our neighbors the next day at 10am and so hed knock $200 off the price if my husband paid now. When my husband said, no I meant I will talk to her this evening and well call you. Zack said, Instead of wasting our time and you having to call me tomorrow, just ask her now.. My husband boldly said, we are not interested and shut the door. The next day a young 20 something male came to our door also not wearing a mask. My husband answered the door, told him someone else came by yesterday and that we are not interested.. He wasnt as pushy but he tried until my husband stated, we are not interested and shut the door.I understand sales and I understand that we all have a job to do, but good lord, get some tact if you plan to go on someones property and knock at their door - Total BS company! Would never use nor recommend based upon this way of selling product
Service has NO progress to my ant issue, and they had 2 no-show!I got ant problems, they had initial service, but the ant problem is always serious, then I requested re-service, they came 3 times, ant are still walking around in my bathroom, kitchen, garage. No show is horrible. First time, they had no message and just no-show, it waisted one of my PTO. 2nd time, I already took PTO on Friday for a service, at 9am, they sent a message that they can not show up.What a horrible service! Re-service many times and got NO improvement to my ant problem.
Tech called to say they were here but.... She never showed up. She called and we waited for hours watching outside but never showed up. This is the second time your techs do that. The previous guy just sat in his car and then gave us the flyer saying he was done. We have camera footage to prove.
We have had lots of black widow spiders in our front and backyard the last couple of years. This year we decided to have the front and backyard sprayed. Aptive came out in May and returned 30 days later for a follow up. Happy to say that we havent seen any more black widows or wasp nests too. The spray service did not affect the birds or lizards that frequent our yard.
Weve had Aptive for a few years now. They are similar to other Pest control companies with regularly scheduled services. It is a bummer that their service techs are always changing because the work is not consistent amongst the team. Weve had Oscar work with us the last couple of appointments and he has been very thorough, thank you.
The Technicians and staff at Aptive are always courteous and professional. They are timely and call ahead before arriving. They do a good job of applying their pest control product, but I still see spiders and other insects around. I have given their service about 10 months now and while there is a decrease in pests, I still see them on a semi regular basis. In all fairness, I am backed up to a regional park so my case is not typical. Don’t know that any other pest control would be any more affective.
Use automated system to randomly schedule appointment without asking any permission from owner. Automated system just send a message without verifying if the owner is available or someone is there to take care of kids after the insecticide spray is complete. Sold mouse solution but never replaced the boxes or taken care of it. Even when the mouse died because of their work, refuse to remove it.Update - Called the office and they agreed to remove. Will update if they really do
They sold a one year contract but literally didnt show up after the 1st service. I had to email and call the company to ask why they didnt show up. The corporate office had no clue so they rescheduled another appointment. The second appointment was also a no show. I called them to ask why but they didnt have any clue but when I said I want to cancel the contract, they said sure but I had to pay for the 1st first service in full. They have no clue what they are doing. All the bugs are still here and no improvement.
Today was the second time that the person from Aptive knocked at the door and didnt have a mask on. I asked them if they had a mask, they said yes, pointed to the car but refused to get it. If somebody chooses not to wear a mask, thats totally fine. If they are at my house talking to me and working for me and I ask them to wear a mask, then I expect that they wear a mask. I called the company and they said that their mask policy is that their employees wear a mask. Im waiting for a manager to call me back to discuss this incident.
Had a salesman come and advertise and tell us that we were going to get quarterly visits. I booked an appointment TWICE, and both times they did not come! Such a waste of time, Cancelling my subscription due to lack of service. Im not wasting anymore time waiting for something that they wont do
Adaptive is a great Company!!They are very thorough they will inform via text or phone call before arrival timeTheir employees are kind and respectful every time they have come to my house.Oscar Martinez came to my house July 26th, 2021 I was very pleased with his performance and how he was eager to help out with my request to spray and clean out the spider websMaking sure to instruct me to keep my fur babies inside of the house until it was safe to go outside.I have a catio for my 4 boys “ cats” he sprayed inside the catio to help keep the bugs and ants away from my boys I also have 2 girls “dogs” and he made sure to spray the area where my girls go potty.I also have a feeding station for all my outside stray and feral babiesI asked if he could spray the inside and all along the feeding station without hesitation he said yes and as I watched he did exactly as I asked.Im very pleased with the service from Adaptive and how each employee who has come to my house is kind and eager to make sure to do the job they were sent out to do.
This was my free trial service . And Oscar the tech was very personable and knowledgeable. He was on time and really worked getting the cobwebs down . He put granules on the lawn where as the previous company sprayed . He sprayed all the cracks for cockroaches. I was very pleased . He explained the contract and sent me copies via email . I hope that Aptive will surpass my previous company,Brooks .
The Technician arrived promptly as promised on the day of our service. He was very knowledgeable and professional. He was speedy and efficient and let me know once he was finished. I barely knew he was in my yard. My dogs were happy to meet him. We feel that we got a better service than anticipated or advertised.
What a great team of workers! Ive used most other companies in the past such as temanex ortho ect.. workers didnt listen literally sprayed cats food n water n said it was safe.. these are the stupid situations Ive found myself in while paying top dollar! This company has great prices they listen and are very responsible I would feel very comfortable having them do my home for yrs to com.. GREAT JOB GUYS
THE WORST COMPANY TO WORK WITH! One might think a new customer will be treated professionally, at least for the first appointment. But not this company. Cancelled on me 3 times on two days! It was so infuriating that I cancelled the contract with them. If there was a NEGATIVE ratings, I would give that. But for now, one star is the least rating.
Door to door salesman came up to my door in San Jose, waved me down through my window, and tried to sell by brute force. I said no 5x and they kept insisting. Their pitch is:1. We know you have pest problems. If you dont know, its a matter of time.2. Well do it for $400 once, and come back every 3-4 yrs bc our materials are special3. However, just today! You get $300 bucks off if you sign now.4. Okay, friends and family discount, dont tell anyone. $30 bucks off in addition. Will you do it?5. Do it for me as a personal favor, I just need to fill one more slot?6. Insist until the prospect is upsetAptive team – If you are so confident Ill have pest issues after a month, lets make a friendly bet. If within 1 year I dont have pests, you pay me $100. Otherwise, I pay you $400. Easy money right? You know where to find me.
Shout out to Darius Morgan who came and did a wonderful job and was super polite and sweet. He took the time to carefully spray all areas and communicated with us the treatment plan. Unfortunately, he is based out of Fairfield and we are in Fremont, but I will always request him regardless.
Rating is generous. This is based on:Tech was here and gone quite quickly. Ran out of time is the reason that was given. Seems the cost should cover the job, not the time allotted, obviously square footage will vary per property, per city, per county.Left a call back number at 7:26pm with the “corporate office” shortly after the Tech left the invoice.Too early to know if the products work.We have three days to decide for external job.The inside of the house was not sprayedTech, nice person, friendly, seemed knowledgeable.Sales, ditto.I hope this is not a rip off?Disc on first visit and 20% off each visit after that.
I’ve been using Aptive for a little over a year. We had an in-house flea problem that we had tried everything to get rid of, but with an outdoor cat, we couldn’t get it under control for very long. The first time Aptive came out they sprayed in and out of the house. Every appointment after that, they only had to spray outside. No more fleas!!The company is very professional and easy to work with. I’ve had to reschedule house treatments without any problem and the workers are friendly and very respectful. I have nothing but praise for the company! 😊
The salesperson was very knowledgeable, courteous and professional. The service technician was on time, explained everything He was going to do and walked through the agreement and then provided a summary of services performed afterwards. I think it was a good value and was a great jumpstart to be mindful of pest control.
Technician showed up during the service window and double-checked the agreement. The work was done efficiently and he was willing to work with me as to get the area sprayed, I did not have everything pulled away from the wall before the appointment. Will know in a few months how effective the spray is.
Adaptive has been servicing my home quarterly for the past year. They are 100% consistent with notifying me in advance, their technicians are very professional and crazy knowledgeable about the pests. Literally a full two months after our last spray I found a few pests that had made it into my garage but only that far as they died upon arrival. Their treatment really does last the full three months!
Enrolled into a 12-month plan when one of their team members visited our complex to start services the next day. They explained what they cover and the process. Today the team to actually perform the service showed up right on time and walked through the process in a very professional way. Overall satisfied with their professionalism and timeliness. Will re-update if the service helps in keeping pests under control
First timer with company & we are very happy so far with their services. Derik was professional, personable & shared his knowledge with us about pest control. Our issues are mainly spiders, or atleast we thought. Derik identified & pointed out to us other issues that may become a bigger problem. Looking forward to working with him and Aptive to help tackle this task
This is the first visit. Not like Orkin who never showed up! Aptive was great! They showed up as promised. Very polite, nice, and was very detailed on what he was going to do when they would be back and how and what they were going to do. Now to wait and see if it works. Looking forward to being ant and black widow free!At this point 5 star and would definitely recommended.
Initial visit with inspection and first spray went well. Jakari was the gentleman that came. He was on time, polite, professional, was wearing a mask, explained the process before going through the Welcome checklist and making sure I did not have any questions. They will be back in about a month for the follow up visit and then quarterly. He removed all cobwebs as he sprayed and offered to walk me around the house before leaving. I appreciate that you can call them at any time for a touchup service if you notice any issues or increased spiders/ants.
Only thing they’re good at is collecting your monthly service fee. I’ve been with them for 2 years. I requested service only once to catch mouse in my attic and they never came. Stood me up twice! Only promises but no work done. Finally I canceled. Not recommended for anyone looking for pest control service. I just realized they have a low 2 star rating on Yelp. Should’ve checked the reviews first.
Please cancel my subscription immediatelyThe tech just told me “Unless you pay me to be here all day, I am not going to remove any more spider webs.” He didn’t remove the webs from the front door even though he said he did.You guys have continuously done a poor job. I will be switching companies and will not tolerate this kind of unprofessionalism or treatment. All the countless times your techs are in and out of here in under 10 mins and rob me of 128-132 and I hear this kind of insult because you have to actually perform the service you offer? Why have the false advertisement that you folks do.Terrible service.
This business is a SCAM! Do not let their door to door salesperson trick you. They will claim your neighbors have already signed up for the “great offer” and get you to agree to their easy-to-cancel contract. Don’t fall for it. Their “pest control” is a joke.Their technicians spend less than 10 minutes on your property and do absolutely nothing to remove cob webs, wasp nests, or anything else that harbors pests. When technicians are asked questions, they are not knowledgeable. One technician earlier this summer told me he was a part-time worker doing this as his summer job while home from college and that he wasn’t trained well. They claim to have an app for customers, but it doesn’t work and if you send messages through the app, they do not respond. Worst of all, when you want to cancel, they require you speak to a manager. However, they never answer calls made to their customer service number. I’m writing this review as I sit on hold. So far, I’ve been waiting 20 minutes.Their cancellation process is pathetic. After 30 minutes someone answered my call so I could spend 2 seconds verifying my address to cancel my service. Total conversation was less than 30 seconds. Why couldn’t that be done over email?I could add a picture to this post of all the cob webs, spiders and wasp nests around my property to prove my point - but I’m too busy to take photos since I’ve already wasted so much time on hold trying to cancel my service.
Very nice salesperson, not pushy. 2 service members came and were very polite and efficient. Added snail service, appreciated that as they are eating my plants up. They said per-safe so not worried about the dogs. Got all the spiderwebs knocked down as well. First service, free re-do’s if any problems.
My last service was March 2020. I could not reach anyone from the company on the phone or email. Today a service tech knocked on my door. I was perplexed as I thought they were no longer providing service. The tech explained the transition the business completed. Advised me we were still a customer in good standing. With all the issues COVID-19 has exposed, having our pest service provided today was welcomed. The tech Emmanuel was very polite and professional. He treated the yard, listened to my concerns and upon completion of service, thanked me.Yes, I’ll continue with Aptive.
I would leave them 5 stars except that I feel their time blocks for coming to the home are way too big. I asked for a morning appointment and the representative told me she had a slot open between 8am and noon. I asked for the 8am appointment and she clarified they could be there anytime between those times. 4 hours? Come on. I think a two hour time frame is the max. Other than that, all the employees have been friendly, polite, and nice to interact with. The people who came to the house practiced social distancing (like 10+ feet), wore a mask and gloves. If you don’t have anything to address with people who come to your house, it’s really a contactless process.I recommend this company!
First service was done well —ONLY! Only service where the technician knocked on the front door and sprayed for bugs in front and gated back yard and inside home. Other 2 services no tech rang the doorbell-just sprayed the front yard multiple times only. I want my money back and to cancel the service for non performance.
High-pressure, door-to-door salesmen who seem like they enjoy being rude and annoying. Told them on a Wednesday night that I wasnt interested in their services, and they showed up again on Thursday morning to try again. They will recite their script while you try to be polite and decline--dont bother. Just slam the door in their face and hope they go out of business soon.
My main concern was with helping reduce the amount of spiders on the exterior of the household. After the first spray and wipe down, it only took about a week to see them come back and remain with no change. When they were setting up for the 2nd visit, it comes through automated the day before and doesnt even provide a time. I had called in after confirming and after waiting to speak to a rep for over 15-minutes, with no answer, I just hung up. No follow-up from them about a time and they randomly showed up to provide the service.Showed up at 4:20ish, knocked, introduced, did the work, and left with nothing said to follow...$100 a quarter for this. No thanks
Please do not share our private cell phone number nor our property address. The first visit was done on 8/1/2020. We were told that the standard pest control process normally takes 20-40 minutes. The rep told us that our yards look like a jungle and recommended us to sell our plants to Home Depot or other nurseries. He also told us he spent about an hour in our yards, so that he ran out time to clean up the spider webs (wood fences or trees) or sprayed our yards. He recommended us to call Aptive for arrangement “de-web services.’
There are some good things to say and some bad things so in this time of COVID I will start with the good. I called the main office to ask why I did not get my service in June and the woman stated that she was not sure but she scheduled for the very next day! AWESOME! The company confirmed the date with me via text! Great. The crew showed up asked me a few questions about my concerns and went to work. Very nice. The team did a nice job spraying and getting all the spider webs down. Now the problems. I asked specifically if they could spray indoors and if it would be harmful to my pets. I was told they could spray and as long as I kept the pets from licking it there would be no problem once it dried. The service guy said the pets would die if he sprayed inside! Now I’m freaked out. Should I have allowed them to spray outside? I’m afraid to let my dogs go outside now. Next they did not recap any concerns I had after they finished. I was worried about termites and rats. They said nothing to me they just left. Well the garage was open for them to spray in there but no word that they were done! Just left! As I was leaving in the afternoon I noticed they left the side gate WIDE OPEN! I can’t believe this. I am so disappointed. I really liked this company and the last few times they did great work and took great care. I realize Covid Ahmad effected businesses greatly and people too. I have a great deal of patience but those men left me feeling unsafe my home and my pets! Feeling disappointed in San Jose.
Horrible experience! The technician named Jack barely did any work except removing spider webs around the house. His work was beyond horrible because he didnt do anything at all. He spent 10 minutes walking around my house with the brush. Thats it. He didnt apply any insecticidal barrier treatment around foundation. He wasnt aware I was watching him most of the time, and he lied to me that he did all the work hes supposed to do. I gave one star just because I have to click the star before submitting this review. He deserved no star at all.
I hired Aptive to help with fleas and bugs. Bugs still come out of cracks from my backyard cement they mostly come out at night. And fleas, my dogs keep getting them. Even though i treated my inside house and paid expensive grooming for them. And When they come and do there job, they take 10 15 min max. Dont know if they are in a hurry but not happy with service.
Today had a door-to-door salesperson from Aptiva in zip code 95118. I opened my door as I thought it was my elderly neighbor coming to visit which she often does. Instead it was this 20 something guy. I pointed out my No Soliciting sign to which he stated but wouldnt you want some one on the other side of the door when they knock? Huh?? I pointed to the sign, shook my head, said no and softly closed my door. To which..he then shouted through my door that I was rude. That got my door reopened and me addressing him loudly on my front lawn about his need to learn to read and respect others privacy. This is also going on my neighborhoods very active Nextdoor.
I was not happy with all of the chemicals or whatever was used in the spraying. I asked the employee to please treat the holes that were in several wood beams due to Carpenter bees. He stated that he didnt have anything to plug the numerous holes but he could spray them. That was fine, except he sprayed all over the slider windows, frames and ground. My 92 year father just spent a few hundred dollars having all the windows cleaned throughout the house. I had to go out and wash the windows and could not get the fluid off the screen. He also sprayed over the table and chairs out back that were covered with the sticky spray. I felt the person hired to due a job made a complete mess! He also didnt appear to be thrilled with my requests.Needless to say, after wiping all the patio furniture down and try to make the windows look like they did prior to his visit, I was exasperated.
I’m just starting with this company. I’ve been with Clark the past 3 years and have been very happy with them. Thought I’d give aptiv a try. So far I’m not too impressed. I’ve been told one thing and when it comes down to it I’ve actually been mislead. My contact was fantastic and even communicated with me after hours. Once the contract was signed I wasn’t able to get in contact with him again. I have 72 hours to cancel the contract. Hopefully it won’t come down to that. I’m hoping my contact person will reply to me.
I have pets so I need a pest control service that will work with me to keep the pests under control and not kill my pets.So far, so good.Yesterdays visit was excellent. He was thorough and spent more than 15 minutes doing his thing.Hopefully, this visit will set the tone now.We did get off to a bumpy start but they bent over backwards to keep me as an account.I must say, though, that their door to door sales tactics need an overhaul. Our Nextdoor was lit up one recent week because they had sent some cold callers out to peddle their services that made everyone uncomfortable. Pushy and, in the times of Covid, not very amenable to peoples paranoia of a stranger trying to sell you something at the front door during a pandemic.I get that businesses are struggling right now but approaching potential new clients in person may seem a little too desperate.Mailers maybe? What sets you guys apart from the others? Are your prices competitive? Im paying at least $30 more a visit than the mom and pop company I used to have do the work.Whats with that contract? Locking people in for a year seems like another desperation tactic. If youre good people will stay. Why would I need a contract if you were good at what you do?
I was disappointed as their service is not worth. What the sales man explained and the service I got has a discrepancy. The sales man said they will fill the gaps and cracks that bugs might go on the exterior wall. But the service man said they fill only big cracks for mouse. There are spider webs that werent removed after the service. I should not have contracted one year service. I wish I can cancel the annual contract without penalty.
To no fault of the Service Provider, Aptive failed to scheduled an appointment and sent a service provider to spray my home today. Im very unhappy and disappointed with Aptives lack of communication. It seems to be a common theme with their service noted on NextDoor. I plan on reviewing other services in the area for the future.
This company has extremely unprofessional practices. They lock you into a 1 year agreement and tell you that you can get out out any time. The reality is that you can only get out with steep fines of $250. Additionally their website is one-way, you can sign up but there is no way to cancel. They make you call in so they can give you the runaround.
Super shady. Customer support will never return my calls and they are charging me without telling me. I cant even take my CC of my account! They even told me theyd give me a bigger discount if I wrote a good review. Explained I could take the review down after his manager saw it.
WARNING. Both Aptive Environmental and Brooks Pest Control wear the exact same uniforms and will tell you they have other clients on your street and that theyve talked to your neighbors next door to you and are doing services for them. The guy from Brooks came twice...the second time when it was about to be dark. Just dont be bothered with them.
I give this company zero rating. Ive called last week and they put me on hold and then transferred me to another recording station for me to leave a message. Never heard back. Im calling right at this minute and am on hold. The service is bad. I keep calling them to come back over and over again to kill the massive ants I have in my backyard and they are back. Ive bought 2 cans of bug spray and spraying myself. I dont know what product they are using but it isnt killing the ants. Im waiting in line on the phone I guess because I want to cancel the service. Its terrible that Ive called and never gotten back.
In person door-to-door cold-calling (without a mask) during a global pandemic? Not only did the sales person not have a mask on, but she did not respect social distancing and would not take no for my first answer ... or my second ... nor my third. This is inconsiderate and unprofessional behavior on part of this company given the times. They should really rethink this sales tactic. Send out a mailer!
The technicians are very polite and thorough with the treatment.Contacting the office to request a change or ask a question is a real pain. It seems like they don’t have the staff to answer the phone as I’ve been on hold two times for over twenty minutes without the option of leaving a number for a call back.
They came before time. Did all their work quickly. Also did some extra work like leaving rat traps in the attic, spraying inside the house. They checked the attic for any rat infestations. Overall pleased. Need to check in next couple or weeks or their treatment is effective.
I live in Fremont the Irvington area. They have a salesperson go door to door.I have never met a more rude employee of a established business. First he starts off with an over the to knock like my house is in fire and after you answer the door and he figured out theres no sales here. complete attitude.Terrible look for thier company. They really need to train their sales staff to do better.Oh yeah kinda guy who wears his mask as a chin strap.
The Service Technicians (Garreth and Kalen) were professional and on time and gave a headsup before the interior and exterior treatment in and around the property.Spencer explained the pest control process done by Aptive the previous day and was very kind and informative.Good job..... keep it going. Thank You!
They follow their schedule & notify when coming to spray. Did not see a change in spider population after first spraying, but when I inquired, I was given the explanation that the first spray doesn’t quite kill the spiders. It’s the second spraying due to the fact that he used different product. Well, yesterday they came & now it’s a wait & see for me.Not convinced,
Technician did a clumsy job. Customer Service was awful. Spider webs visible 10 minutes after tech left. They lock you for an annual contract & then provide bad service because you cant do anything after that. I refuse to pay the remaining & am going to take them to BBB.
The technician came out and sprayed along the base of the house on the cement and around the trashcan and tree. He was supposed to leave me any bait traps But failed to do so. He cleaned out the sources that had some wasp nests. Overall I felt like the quality of his work was not that great. I had to ask him to spray along the windows.
I’ve been using Aptive Environmental for quite a while. During the China Covid cris, I had suspended use. Spiders quickly caught on & began to invade my space again. So now I’m back on Aptive’s service & am very pleased to have be on it again! Thanks for their quick service, punctuality, & respectful manners. I can happily say I would recommend to all!!
Very disappointed with the techs that come service the house. Both times they’ve had to send a second person back the house to do the contractual items that the first person neglected to do. This is complete waste of my time, having to babysit them in order for them to do their job. It also requires multiple calls to customer service, and then having to schedule another time to do the work.
Other services Ive had sweep all cobwebs and spray the front porch awning for spiders, and other insects, they also spray close to the house as well as the yard perimeter. Aptiv only sprays the perimeter so we have a lot more spiders and moths than with past services.

2022-07-29I signed up for the 1 year contract with Aptive and now regretting it after their first service. It was John Palmer that came the 1st time. He was very friendly and did a good job spraying around the house and was careful with my koi pond. I told him that I had scout ants in the kitchen and showed him the gap in the wall that I see them come out from. He sealed that gap with Advion Ant Gel. I checked on Amazon and this gel has a high rating. But a few days later, I noticed that ants are now coming out from a different gap under the windows.I called Aptive and they scheduled a free visit a week and a half later. This time Charles Romero came. He sprayed around the house. He was super sloppy. He sprayed the bottom 1 foot of the wall and 6 of the ground adjacent the wall. He also skipped over any part of the wall with things sitting next to it like a pot or ladder. I have attached a photo showing spots he did not spray next to my outside faucet. I said to him that I thought the rule is to spray 3 feet around the house. He told me that it has been changed to 2 feet. But he is only spraying 6 where he did spray. I told him I have ants in the kitchen and showed him the gap at the base of the window where the ants were coming out from. He poured a white powder Eco Via MD sloppily in that area. I have attached a photo showing the powder. I grabbed the bottle and took photos of it. I have attached those photos as well. The label cautioned that breathing the dust is dangerous and advised masks and eye protection. Charles did not follow any of these precautions and said it is OK the leave it like that for a month. He only did a small portion of the window base and after I urged him to do more, he only extended the powder another foot at the base of the window. This powder has a strong smell too. The next day, I see a lot of ants on the kitchen counter going after some food I left there by mistake. They came out in the section of the window base that he did not place the powder. Also, when the ants come onto that powder, they just go around and avoid it. So, both the gel and that powder are totally not effective.Called Aptive again and they are scheduling a 3rd person to come visit. Not hopeful that the situation will be fixed if they are not doing anything to kill the nest.

2022-07-13We hired them for general pest treatment. Their service is horrible. They are not trust-worthy. I would not recommend hiring them. The initial service were discussed with a guy named Mark. The technician(Joseph) who had come for the first appointment was supposed to remove the spider webs. I told him that I still see the spider webs and for that he started telling that he uses a special kind of brush that prevents spiders to not put webs. But I wanted him to remove the existing webs. But nothing was done for that. We had also requested for treatment against aphids. He said it was not there in the list. I dont know how Mark forgot telling him about this to his technician. For the follow-up appointment, I asked them to come back later as I had to go out. They did leave but later was sent me an invoice. I am trying to get to a refund but very difficult to get hold of them. The person who initially spoke to us about the services (Mark) is also not helpful. He keeps giving me new customer service number each time.

2022-06-08When searching for a pest control I found that Aptive was the only one that responded and showed up when scheduled. Their service has been good until now.I scheduled a respray and shut my business down to sit home and wait for nobody to show up. When I called I was told my appointment was set up for the following Monday! How could it be scheduled for the following week when I received on going reminders for my appointment by phone, email, and text all with the same date, the date I waited for them. Asked to talk to a manager and a new appointment set, four days of long holds and same request of appointment and manager. I receive a charge on my credit card and a half done job since I was not home to unlock my gate! Nobody contacted me or scheduled an appointment! I do not know what has happened with this company but I will not use them again!

2022-08-17My house has been suffering from serious ant attacks since this Spring. It may be due to some major landscaping work we did last Fall/Winter.Aptives salesman, Richard came at the right time last week. He explained in good details about the services Aptive offers. He was also able to answer all other questions I had. After I signed the contract, he even followed up before and after the 1st treatment to make sure everything went right. The service technician, Andrew came a couple of days later for the 1st treatment. He was very thorough on his work. Although this is the 1st time I hire a professional pest control company, Andrew was very patient and answered all the questions raised by my wife and me with good clarity.I chose Aptive because of its commitment on organic/low-harm-to-the-environment pest control, as well as the free after-service if the original treatment is not effective for whatever reason. I hope I will see good results in next couple of weeks.

2022-09-08WORST EXPERIENCEThey gave a very promising pitch about spiders and web extermination. Did not deliver as promised. Service was very poor. They didn’t so most of the things as promised while signing the contract. They charge you in advance and don’t give you any satisfactory service. Do not waste your money with them.Post service they didn’t pick up phone or text. Never had such a poor customer experience.

2022-07-25A Nice Guy named Cannon came to solicit that we sign up for their service. I told him I dont want to sign up, and I dont sign up for anything without researching. This guy was super persistent and wouldnt leave. I wasnt trying to be super rude either, and conversation with him was dragging so long, I buckled and signed up. He made it sound like it was a 18 month service period for only $170. What he didnt make clear is that it $170 per service and that there is $200 cancellation fee.It is my mistake for signing up with a calm voiced solicitor, and not reading the contract.Last time I am signing up for anything with a solicitor. I told him I didnt have time and I didnt want to sign up. At the end I signed up for something he didnt explain well and basically forced me to sign up and then they say it is in the contract. LOL. I told the guy I didnt have time. That also means not enough time to read contract, and now I am here. I shouldve been rude and told him to get off our property.

2022-09-10Lost total of $700+ on a year long service and they could not solve or try to even solve the ant problem. At their last service the guy says the problem could be in my crawl space and of course their company doesnt service crawl space. Didnt even have the ant repellent or killing chemical and was unaware that I had ant problem - yet charged me $120 for unnecessary quarterly service. Cancelled appointments 3 times without any notice the whole summer. I escalated to their management and yet no response. This company is based out of Texas and has no knowledge of Ant problem in CA and how to solve them. Do not use them. Call Citra Pest Control or Clarks. You will be wasting your money year round with these guys. They are nothing short of scammers.

2022-07-12I got the service very fast. The person spent probably 25-30 mins to finish. Cant say anything else about the quality yet, because got the treatment just yesterday. Only one downside, its a two year contract and I had to sign even before the treatment.

2022-08-13We have ant in home. Recommended by our friends, we contact Aptive environmental on Wed and they promise to come on Sat. However, we got a notification on Sat (no message; email only) that the service will be postponed to next Tue.The ant is everywhere in our home and we choose Aptive because of their responsibility and reputation. We are pretty disappointed now with Aptive and have cancelled the service.

2022-08-27I just started the service based on reviews on Google and from a word of mouth from my neighbor. Initial service was good, hence a neutral rating. Will update in my next if the pest solution was effective, logistics on how the company handles situations on requests, etc, and revise my rating!——-Solution sprayed not effective, asked for re-service. Challenges - Scheduling, communication, missing appointments and constant customer follow ups and not the other way around have started. Will update after a re-service..
