Very nice and friendly and helpful staff. I chose wildcard, car was extremely new and clean, they even gave me sanitize wipe in the car. I’ll definitely use them again

The San Jose airport location was wonderful. Arrived at counter at 1:30 pm on a Thursday and no line. I had pre-entered my information, so everything went smoothly. I had to go up to the top level where someone was waiting to issue my car. I was out the door in a matter of minutes. The car got great gas mileage. Upon return, I was greeted with an employee with a handheld device, who quickly inspected my car and was able to give me the final total which was spot on with what I had expected. No surprises! As well, it was nice we were cleaning out the cans from our beverages & was told to go ahead and leave them in the car & they would be recycled properly.

We were second in line at the check in counter and were processed quickly. We were told to head upstairs to select our car. The upstairs crew directed us to a block of 4 cars and said pick one We liked a hybrid but noticed that the hatchback did not have a cover to keep prying eyes from seeing shopping bags and luggage so we settled for a Hyundai Accent with some wear and tear showing on the exterior. It was fun to drive and was pretty good on gas. After completing our 10 day trip around the bay area we drove in to a different Alamo site to drop the car off. It was a fast process and Rami, the greeter/checkout guy, was quick, professional and cheery. It was a no drama, low hassle rental all the way around.

I had a very easy experience here. I walked right up to the counter to check in, it took maybe 5 minutes. She warned me traffic was about to get bad so I better get on the road. Returning the vehicle was just as fast. I pulled in and a very nice woman scanned my car in and gave me a receipt. Its impressive how fast it all was. The longest wait was waiting for the airport terminal bus.

Theres usually a degree of uncertainty when traveling to a new city and completing all the travel arrangements. I most certainly felt this way about the car rental at San Jose, CA airport. My return flight was scheduled to leave at 6:35 am and the rental car agencies all opened at 7:00 am. Understandably, I felt a little dubious about the rental return. However, there was nothing to be concerned about. Attendants were up and waiting at 5:00 am and greeted me by my name.I used the Alamo app and signed up for Skip the Desk at the check-in. It went quite smoothly and I had the choice of three cars in the mid-size class. I chose the sporty looking Nissan Sentra and couldnt have been more pleased with the car - clean, smooth riding, responsive to acceleration, easy to drive, and good service. I would most certainly use Alamo again and will not be concerned about rental return if I ever fly to San Jose, CA in the future. Thank you for the good experience.

Overall a good experience, just some minor inconveniences: we signed up for Alamo Insider to go straight to the car, but the sign at the rental lot said to go to the national kiosk pretty much negating the go straight to the car perk. Also the car we reserved wasnt available, so we were offered the next class car... not a problem, in fact I was happy with it, but just wondering about the logistics involved with not having the reserved car available. Everything was very easy from pick up to drop off and we spent less than planned on gas since our car was a hybrid.I always had the impression that Alamo was a budget company with less desirable vehicles than Avis or Hertz, but based on this experience I will definitely use them again especially since the price was much lower for the same car.

I rented a vehicle at the SJC location so this review is about my experience at this location. I entered all of my info online so when I picked up the vehicle I could supposedly go pick a vehicle off their lot and the keys would be in it and drive to the exit. When I got to their lot there were no available vehicles, no greeter from Alamo and no Alamo kiosk to get assistance. I called Alamo only to be told I had to go to the Alamo desk, but there were no Alamo employees present. I finally managed to find a guy in the garage that was working for Alamo and he told me I had to go to the National kiosk if I need assistance with an Alamo rental. There is no sign that mentions this crucial bit of info. The National folks were able to get me a vehicle, finally. It took me an hour and a half from the point I got to their garage to getting a vehicle. This is the last time I ever use Alamo for a rental.

Weve had a good experience at the counter. Very friendly person who listened to us, wasnt in a hurry and at the time to pick up the car, the guy was friendly and gave us an option between two good vehicles that were clean and ready to drive. At the return, it was fast and totally hassle free. Id recommend Alamo at San Jose International Airport.

All of the other companies had no cars to offer me, almost gave up till I decided to give Alamo a try. The sales rep was informative and it was a fairly easy transaction! We received a Mitsubishi Outlander SUV and it got us from point A to point B.

This is kind of a split review. The first part of this experience was amazing, and then the second part was annoying, like a 5 star and a 2 star. Ill give it 3 stars overall.I rented a luxury sedan (Elite Class) for a round trip visit to Las Vegas from San Jose. I show up, it was fast to pick up the car, the attendants at SJC airport were great, and offered me a BMW 540i for the trip after I asked for something nice. It was fantastic and wonderful, I was very very happy. The only nit part of this trip was that there were 2 pieces of garbage left in the car, but it wasnt bad.I drive to Las Vegas, and the car was perfect. I get to Vegas and I get a giant nail in the tire, not Alamos fault, but call the roadside service number, and Im told that I have to take it to the Las Vegas Airport rental center to exchange. I was 5 minutes away from from the Airport with a flat. This took nearly 2 hours, and I was given a row of SUVs to choose from, I really wanted a sedan, but got a SUV instead, an Audi Q5.I know the SUV costs more to rent, but I would have thought the Las Vegas site would have more options, but once again this was out of Alamos responsibility. However, I give Alamo 2 stars for this portion of the trip for 2 main reasons. 1) The car had a horrendous rattle in the left rear quarter panel when driving over anything but perfect roads and 2) the spare tire was broken (uninflated, sidewall collapsed - I found it looking for the source of the rattle). I was driving in dessert areas after getting a flat, with no spare tire.I didnt want to spend 2+ more hours of my vacation driving back and exchanging the car again, so I kept a annoying and possibly unequipped car for 10 or my 11 days of rental. Definitely not the nicer car experience I wished for when I spent the extra money.TL:DR, Cars could be cleaned and maintained better, exchanges for flats can take a long time, wished I could have enjoyed the car more for a long trip, but car had issues.
